------------Chapter 4------------
Mitch: [a day later Mitch could still feel the heat of Aly’s hand across his face. Good, he missed her touch. But, he'd still never admit it. It had taken him an hour after Aly had left to read what she had laid on his small table, before her back was once again the last thing he saw as she walked out. He felt as if he owed her nothing. He probably still owed her the world he had promised at their wedding. For better or worse. And wasn't this the worse part of their marriage. Especially as Mitch read the interview.] [He knew all the answers anyways. They could have asked him and he could have told the interviewer probably more than Aly had, but he was sure there was someone there telling Aly, ‘That's enough,’ or ‘Don’t give them too much.’ Leave her fans wanting more. Well the internet rview left him knowing he was making the right decision. He had to let Aly go. He couldn't give her everything she wanted. And didn't that make him feel like half a man.] [Mitch read the question again: ‘Do you want children?’ He read her reply, though he knew the answer by heart, ‘Yes, as many as I'm blessed with.’ Not a number to have the fans guessing. But, enough to break his heart all over again. He wouldn't tell her the why. He shoot blanks. He would never be able to give her the world he once promised or what she wanted most; a family. And that hurt worse than any slap to the face.] [he couldn't dwell on the interview or his next move because if he did he'd chicken out. He enlisted the help of Gin’s lawyer, Sam. His hands trembled. Never once on the force had he been this way. Fearing for his life never came with the badge. You either wore it to protect and serve or you shouldn't nah wouldn't be apart of Mitch’s crew. He refused to be known as some crooked cops, or worse seen on TV not having proper training. His team was the best women and men you could find in Charlemont, Kentucky. Mitch loved those he worked with so when they heard the news, and gossip did like to travel fast in Charlemont, they would be shocked.] [Mitch entered the tour bus because he was going to leave the separation paperwork there. He still couldn't go inside Aly and his old home, but it was he who was shocked when he stepped foot inside. First, because who drives this big sucker home. She couldn't have just rented a car? Or perhaps she did and her crew finally showed up when it was interview time. If he was honest he hadn't noticed them around, usually they wouldn't let anyone around her. He remembered the night he tried. Aly had already been to a few large cities, Mitch had just got the news. He didn't know why he cared, but he wanted to see if there was something he should be doing to preserve his future. He wasn't getting any younger, but when the doctor had come back, ‘I'm sorry Mitch, but you have unexplained infertility. There are tests we can run.’ He might even had said there were new successful solutions out there. As medicine is growing. But, his ears had been ringing and it truly was the first time he felt completely utterly alone. And all he had wanted was Aly. He assumed he wasn't allowed by her because she didn't keep up pictures of them.] [but, as Mitch looked around he was everywhere. He hadn't been in his right head space, perhaps he should have mentioned that night so many months ago that he was her husband. Maybe then they would have left him see his wife. They hadn't. And Mitch never told Aly he came. He left with his tail between his legs, too broken to be put back together. He had slowly been ‘working’ on himself he guessed since that night. Moving out of their house. Buying the houseboat he had always wanted. But, that was the extent of ‘working on himself.’ He had a police force to lead and that is what had kept him busy and going.] [now all that seemed selfish as he looked around seeing his memories plastered on every small space the bus had to offer. His favorite memory; marrying the woman he loved was even in a frame next to the main bed. He was an ass. Closing his lids. What had he done. Finding the edge of the bed he sat down for some quiet time to think, what was he going to do?] [he hadn't heard anyone come in, lost in his own world, “How long are you going to sit out here?” Aly teased him, but he didn't want to be teased. He wanted to get on his knees and beg her to forgive him. That's when the weight of the papers he was holding decided to take on that of a rhinoceros than just some sheets of paper needing signed. Ones he wished he never had. Ones he now wanted to light on fire and forget he ever had made up. She must have got bored waiting for his reply. Her sigh heavy between them, “Mitch what is that in your hands?” She must have noticed he was having trouble lifting them.] Nothing just a case I'm working on. [deflection. He was good at that. He had to get out of here. Getting better at leaving, too. With these papers still in hand. Aly reached for them. Mitch hid them behind his back. An attempted smirk trying to mask the feelings he had going on.] Can't have you going through these. It's still an active investigation, baby love. [which reminded him he needed to get his head into the Bradford case, before he benched himself and let Lowery take over. He would be the obvious choice. Him and his partner Burnett had three years on the force and were some of the best men he knew. Might even be his only friends outside the Bradfords.] [her eyes melted at the nickname Mitch had always used. Didn't that just do things. Stir things up that had no right, not with what was in his hand. Aly rolled her eyes, “Whatever. So you going to tell me why you've been in here?” And for that Mitch didn't have a quick reply. Being too caught up in trying to think of an answer he wasn't watching as Aly grabbed the paperwork. Shit.] No. Don't. Don’t open that, Aly. For the love of … [it was too late. He watched as the love of his life opened what he had thought he wanted.] [“Is this what you want?” He shook his head no.] It's for the best though. [but, was it. Right now he couldn't believe that. He really hoped she'd fight him. Because he wanted to fight himself. He was an idiot. He didn't want the separation anymore than he had wanted Aly to leave in the first place. What Mitch wanted was his wife back. Now if that was going to happen wasn't looking so good.] Aly [she put up her hand to stop him from further speaking.]

These mind-numbing images are a sampler of the decorative ceilings in the Louvre. Vaulted, coffered and muraled within an inch of madness.
I became so intrigued with the ceilings that I’m a little shocked that I didn’t fall down a flight of stairs or crash right into other museum goers. It is impossible not to look up when you’re in the Louvre.

Chapter 3 (part 2) Aly: As I walked up to Mitch's boat, I thought back to the times he talked about how he wanted to have a house on the lake and own a boat. I would never have thought he would be living out on the lake in the boat, but here he was. Running my hands along the skirt I was wearing, I then reached up and knocked on the door, I’d been calling him for what felt like days to try and get him to talk, all the calls either went unanswered or he sent me to voice mail. I was over being ignored, he had to face me now, or I was going to find the place he was and face him there. I was over the games of being ignored. Lifting my chin as the door to the cabin open I smiled sweetly, and all but let myself into his place. I let my eyes travel over the place; I was taken back that he didn't have photos of me anywhere, was I even a part of his world at all. If you looked at the bedroom on the tour bus, you would see photos of him ever where. Especially next to the bed, he is the first and last person I see. I turned back to him after I asked about the calls and why he wasn't taking them. I watched as he stalked toward me. I step back slightly seeing a fire in his eyes. He and I were never much for talking, most of our talks always ended with us against the nearest wall tangled with one another. Or we were wrapped up with one another on the nearest bed; it didn't matter much who house we were at, I bit my lip as he reached me and lifted up on my toes to meet him, I wanted to kiss him as much as he wanted to kiss me. I wanted to slap him for ignoring me. As soon as his lips found mine, I became lost to the thought of slapping, and I leaned into him as I felt us moving against the closet wall. My body was on fire with the need to be with him again, my hands running over him and trying to pull him closer and claim him. As his hand finds my ass, I moan deep into the kiss, nothing feels like his grip on me. Just as great as it felt the grip leaves, my leg was being released, and Mitch is pulling away from me. I narrow my eyes, seeing the look that crosses Mitch's face has me pissed once again. I reach up and slap him. How could he turn me on and pull me in to only push me away as if I was nothing? I pulled away entirely and pushed him off me. I turn and walk away a few feet before I turn to look at Mitch. "I came to talk to you; I miss you. Fuck." Frustrated I throw my hands up and pass a few times and look back at Mitch ones again, "I have a big interview coming out soon, they asked a lot of questions. A lot of personal questions, I figured you would want to read it before the public did." Pulls a copy of the magazine from my purse and drops it on the table and turns to leave.

A New Season
Location Charlemont, Kentucky Deputy sheriff Mitchell Ramsey lives on a boat off the Ohio River. Mitch: [Tired. Mitch was fucking exhausted if he was honest. The boathouse life was nice, but some nights he just couldn't sleep. Last night had been one of them. Probably because Lane had kept him up doing a favor once again. But this time it had been something for Miss Aurora and there was nothing Mitch wouldn't do for that woman. And just as he was hanging up his sheriff belt, his phone had gone off again. Not a surprise, the Bradfords needing something else.] [It was a revolving door for the Bradfords and Mitch. Or so it felt like. And now it was going to be even more so; Mitch was in charge of the murder investigation of Lane’s father. Why Edward had admitted to committing the murder, was beyond Mitch, but he had a feeling that there was more to the story than what Edward was telling.] [And that's how Mitch showed up here at the property where he had met his wife five years ago and tired beyond any starbucks double shot.] [clues. He needed anything. Something. What, he wasn't sure. The Derby wasn't too far off so the staff was busy with the horses and too busy to be bothered with Mitch’s questions. Which was just as well. He didn't know what to ask just yet.] [he’d take a look around. Sometimes the best clues came to you on their own. You didn't even know them to be clues until later. Mitch’s gaze stopped at something or someone. His eyes must be playing tricks on him because that wasn't Edward’s new help and whoever that was was actually better than any java. Sandy blonde hair. Legs for days. His body was reacting to a year of no sex. Self gratification was only so good. Yep, tired. He's seeing things.] Aly? [why, what would she be doing back? Wasn't she following her dreams? On some big tour?] [before he could stop himself, Mitch beat feet in her direction. A heart wants what it wants. And Mitch’s heart never stopped wanting the blonde before him. Even if she left him. He'd never let her know it, but she was the very thing that kept his heart beating.] [once he was close enough, he closed his lids and took a deep inhale. She still smelled like he remembered, just like a lily. He missed her scent. He missed her. Opening his lids, he forced a mask over his features.] Didn't realize your tour ran through these parts. [his hands rested on his sheriff belt. He'd know where her tour was because he knew exactly where his wife was even if they hadn't talked since the day she decided Kentucky wasn't good enough for her. The day Mitch had no longer been good enough for her either.]
