I finally got around to watching Agatha All Along, and if I'm gonna post anything about it, I'll say that they did the right thing by including one of the best parts of Wandavision:
Having loads of opportunities for fun themed group costuming.
#on a more serious note#agatha all along is SERIOUSLY good#i was stuck in both marvel fatigue and disgust at disney for pulling upcoming trans focused cartoon episodes#but this show was such a surprising delight in multiple ways that I'm gonna have a smidgen of hope for both aspects to become better one da#just a smidgen tho because agatha all along aired before the election#which is undoubtedly a large part of why the trans focused cartoon episodes were pulled after the fact#but apparently agatha all along did really well as it aired so im going to hope it'll show disney what we want from them going forward#i dont know if many people in my tumblr circles are enough of marvel fans for me to say GO WATCH IT NOW#but like#if you either know the wandavision and multiverse of madness stuff#or don't mind picking up info as you go into the show blind#i really do recommend it#agatha all along

Agatha All Along, the highly anticipated follow-up to WandaVision, begins airing this week on Disney+. Now is the perfect to revisit some important information about both shows and the context in which some of Agatha's new characters are being introduced.
WandaVision primarily followed the character Wanda Maximoff and expanded on her family history by introducing her late parents as well her twin sons, who are born from magic and age rapidly over the course of the series.
In the Marvel comics source material, Wanda is part of a large, multigenerational family of Jewish and Romani characters whose stories frequently reflect the systemic violence and oppression that both communities face-- including Romani Holocaust victims, who are critically underrepresented in both education and media. In the MCU, these identities and histories are completely erased, and the characters are all played by white actors. Alternate versions of these characters also appear in the Fox X-Men films, and are similarly whitewashed.
The Romani people are a racialized minority that originated as a South Asian diaspora, and who face severe systemic oppression in Europe and North America. The modern Romani population is quite diverse, but they are not of white ethnic origin, and despite the fact that Wanda and her family have historically been drawn with white features, they are minority characters and ought to be considered as such.
Depictions of witches and witchcraft are often entwined with antisemitism and anti-Romani racism. In pop culture, witches and fortunetellers are typically portrayed as visual stereotypes of Romani women. In the real world, fortunetelling is a profession born from survival work, one which Romani families are often heavily policed and racially profiled for practicing. While Wanda usually subverts these tropes, they are often played straight elsewhere in the superhero genre, and any story about witches, especially one featuring Romani characters, needs to be critiqued in this context.
Agatha All Along introduces viewers to a new cast of characters, including Lilia Calderu, played by Patti LuPone, and the enigmatic "Teen", played by Joe Locke, who is heavily speculated to be an incarnation of Wanda's son, Billy.
In the comics, Lilia is a member of a prominent Romani family in Wanda's community. Often lauded as the "witch queen of the gypsies," Lilia embodies many racial stereotypes about Romani women. In Agatha All Along, Lilia is depicted as an older Sicilian woman, however, being portrayed as a batty fortuneteller with a tawdry psychic shop, she still embodies an offensive trope. Although Lilia is far from "good" representation, this is not an improvement-- if anything, it's even more exploitative.
Billy was raised in a Jewish American household and places a very strong emphasis on his Jewish identity, in addition to having Romani heritage. His identity as a young gay man is always presented in conjunction with this heritage, not in spite of it. Though there is a significance to Locke being a gay actor playing a gay character, his casting-- if he is indeed playing Billy-- is not authentic. White gay representation should not supersede racial inclusivity, and it is not an excuse for whitewashing or Jewish erasure.
Marvel Studios recently announced that the character Doctor Doom will be played by Robert Downey Jr., who is returning to the franchise after many years in the role of Iron Man. In the source material, Doom is also a Romani character with a very similar background to Wanda's. This identity is central to Doom's character-- although he is written to be both morally and politically challenging, the liberation of his people has always been a primary motive.
Clearly, this type of whitewashing is an ongoing pattern in the MCU franchise. Although "Teen's" identity is still unconfirmed and Lilia may, ultimately, be of little consequence, they are part of a larger problem, and Agatha All Along needs to critiqued in that context.

Why Is The Jewish “Representation” In Agatha All Along So Problematic???
When it was first confirmed that Joe Locke was going to have a role in Agatha All Along, most fans quickly came to the conclusion that he would be portraying Billy Kaplan AKA Wiccan which unfortunately ended up being correct.
The problem with that casting you ask?
Joe Locke isn’t Jewish and he is playing one of Marvel’s most prominent Jewish characters. Whilst many goyim (non-Jewish people) often inaccurately perceive Jewishness to solely be a religious identity which is a massive oversimplification of what it means to be a Jew, Jewish people are actually an ethnoreligious community which means that we’re our own distinct ethnic group and culture that have a traditional religion that is intrinsically tied to our identity and culture regardless of individual Jewish people’s levels of observance.
And because we are an ethnoreligious group, that makes the casting of Joe Locke, who is not ethnically or religiously Jewish, inherently problematic to say the least, especially when placed into the wider context of Jewish representation in the MCU.
Marvel Studios has previously been criticised for the way that it’s approached adaptations of Jewish characters for the MCU with the two main examples being casting Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, who is Romani and Jewish in the comics, and Oscar Isaac as the Ashkenazi Jewish Marc Spector in the Moon Knight streaming series and in both cases, the heritage of the characters were either downplayed or just outright erased. So for anyone who understands the issue, it should be clear that the MCU has a poor track record when it comes to representing Jewish characters and that Agatha All Along’s adaptation of Billy Maximoff/Kaplan is just another addition to the list of disrespectful adaptations of Jewish characters.
What is the specific problem with how Billy has been adapted in the MCU?
Well, in order to answer that question, the answer has to effectively be split into two parts:
In the most recent episode of Agatha All Along, we finally learn the backstory of Billy (who had previously only been referred as “Teen” due to a spell that prevented his identity from being found out) and as part of that, we are shown a flashback to the day of Billy KAPLAN’s (the capitalisation will make sense in a bit), Bar Mitzvah, a sacred Jewish ritual that marks the transition into adulthood and the responsibilities that comes with being a Jewish adult. In this flashback, Billy (who if you’ve payed attention, is being played by a non-Jew) is shown wearing traditional religious garments and handling what is potentially an actual Torah scroll.
Within Judaism and Jewish culture in general, handling a Torah and then reading from it is seen as both a great honour and responsibility for any Jew who is called for an Aliyah so seeing a non-Jewish actor who has no experience as a Jewish person and in interviews, has mocked fans who criticised his role in the show, wearing my culture and religion as a costume to advance his career just felt wrong to me. I love Marvel and I take great pride in superhero comics being an art form that was created by Jewish immigrants so seeing one of the biggest franchises in history cast a non-Jewish actor to appropriate Jewish culture just felt disgusting to me. At least with Moon Knight, all we got was the smallest references to his Jewish heritage rather than being subjected to seeing the christian Oscar Isaac partake in sacred closed rituals.
And now, moving onto the second part of the answer to the above question, after we see Billy reading from the Torah and are then shown the party following the ceremony, we learn that the flashback takes place concurrently with the final episode of WandaVision. Because of that, the party has to end early so that guest can evacuate and soon, Billy and his parents are in a car accident where Billy dies…
…until his body is quickly revived after the soul of Wanda and Vision’s artificially constructed son, Billy MAXIMOFF possesses and takes control of Billy Kaplan’s body whilst erasing everything that made Billy Kaplan who he was. The reason why this is especially problematic is because of the great importance of the soul within Judiaism. According to Jewish laws, one of the most important things that distinguishes Jewish people from goyim is a Jewish soul and in Agatha All Along, one of the main protagonist who is an adaption of a Jewish character who was created by a Jewish writer is reimagined as a non-Jewish soul that hijacks the corpse of a Jewish teenager to use as a meat puppet. It becomes even worse when later on in the episode, “Billy” is shown rejecting his identity as Billy Kaplan which effectively takes the undertones of ethnic erasure and cultural appropriation of Joe Locke’s casting and makes it an essential part of the characterisation for this incarnation of Billy.
In Conclusion?
In the Marvel Comics, Billy Kaplan is a proud queer Jewish man who was partially based on the lived experiences of his creator who is also a gay Jewish man. Becuase of that, he holds a special place in the hearts of many fans who see a piece of ourselves in him and we deserved to see the really Billy Kaplan be brought to life in a way that would honour the source material that we love and introduce mainstream audiences to a really cool and fascinating Jewish superhero who can open up so many possibilities for the more supernatural side of the Marvel Universe to be explored in further MCU instalments.
But instead, we got the bare minimum of Jewish representation followed by the complete erasure of that “representation” with the ultimate end product being a show riddled with the underlying rot of antisemitism.

AGATHA ALL ALONG DEEP DIVE: episode 1 part 1
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][+1] ep5 [1][2][3][4][5] ep6 [1][2][3] ep7 [1][2][3][4][5][6] ep8 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] ep9 [1][2][3][4][5][6])
IT'S TIME TO REWATCH AGATHA ALL ALONG, WITCHES! And as usual, spoilers below.
episode 1, Seekest Thou The Road
Wanda is dead (no she ain't). As a result, her spell is weakened and Agatha has changed from her nosy neighbor character to detective Agnes (or caught the true crime bug, as Herb will put it.)
Stinky grimy Agnes, so serious and depressed. As soon as she appears onscreen she's humming the Ballad.
Detective Agnes has just been recalled to action after being off duty for a while. She was punished for "punching a suspect", which is code for going after Wanda. Agnes points out that now the suspect is a convicted felon, i.e. that she was right after all and Wanda is dangerous and evil. "I can't be right and wrong" she says. "Yes, you can" says Herb, because both Agatha and Wanda are villain and victim. And lol at the police tape symbolizing Herb's fence. You know the poor guy is in his garden looking down at Agnes in her Bonher family tshirt, wondering what the hell is going on.
oh that's a seriously good shot
Agatha looks heartbroken when she sees Wanda's body, doesn't she? She looks so sorry.
Herb (the real Herb behind the illusion) confirms that Agatha is acting different than usual.
THIRD TIME SHE DISCREETLY DRIES HER TEARS
There is nothing funny about Detective Agnes. Or rather, it's funny to watch her because she's so intense, but we laugh at her, she's not being a clown on purpose like Agatha usually is. And Agatha right now is in a lot of pain, even more than usual having completely lost her agency. This character so unkempt, so sad, so doggedly searching for answers, is more true to Agatha's real self than what she usually lets people see. Deep down she's just a tragic lesbian wet rat.
Somebody called in to have the body found, and I think that somebody was Rio. Why would the body be next to the water otherwise? It's like the River of Life laid her gently where Agatha could find her. In other words, Wanda's death brought her to Agatha. I'm curious about these woods too, we know they don't actually exist as this is all in Agatha's head, but where did the idea come from? Are these the woods where she killed the Salemites? Where she gave birth to Nicky? Or where she buried him?
Agatha's victims from the finale flashing throughout the opening. Wherever it may bend, I'll see you at the end.
"based on the danish series WANDAVISDYEN" never fails to destroy me. and it's so clever too, it's like they're telling first time watchers that yes, this seems like a grim detective show, but you clever audiences know that things are not as they seem and this is a parody, right?? this is not serious at all, it's funny! Laugh! Except. It's not funny. It's not funny at all. And you're going to realize only when it's too late. It's the same thing they do with Sharon/Mrs. Hart, they lure you in with laughs only to hit you with heartbreak. This show is not a comedy at all. It's at its very core a senseless tragedy.
Sarah/Dottie lives next door too, was Agatha talking to her through a window, or does the library desk symbolize another fence? This poor woman, hasn't she suffered enough? But they all more or less try to help Agnes, that's sweet. Has anyone from SWORD or whomever dropped in to talk to them, did the Avengers just decide to leave Agatha there? Did Monica (or Ralph) even explain to the poor people of Westview that she's a witch, or do they just think she's a random neighbor who couldn't be saved from Wanda's Hex?
THE MAILMAN CONTINUES BEING SUSPICIOUS. Is Agatha putting words in his mouth, or was he (the "messanger") sent by someone to warn her about the Darkhold being destroyed???
her FACE when she sees Rio
and the way Rio just stares and stares. When you rewatch this scene knowing that this is the first time she gets to see Agatha in centuries... and she has to be cool and she has to be gentle. I think it's deliberate that they put Phil/Harold/Ross Geller in here, because he's one of the funniest people in Westview and it's suggesting a first time viewer to read this scene as a comedy. Except it's a cosmic tale of tragedy and heartbreak, but you're not supposed to notice yet, even if it's right there under your nose.
Stop being such a lone wolf, Agnes. Or rather, stop being such a sad and lonely covenless witch, Agatha.
Rio laughs her delighted little laugh, licks her lips, looks out the window for a moment as if overwhelmed, then goes back looking at Agatha and basically devouring her with her eyes. ("te veo.") (thank you for my life aubrey plaza.) Agatha stares daggers back, but her body language stars getting defensive. She feels very vulnerable.
Yep, defensive. And wistful.
She is doing her job, like always. But she's also going above and beyond. There is technically no need for her to wake Agatha up, but here she is, dropping gentle clues, guiding her with such patience and care.
"If you wanna be in control you can be" is said in such a kind tone, but it's also sexy?? I think Rio really likes for Agatha to take control, in a lot of ways. Her body language is the opposite of what Agatha is doing too.
Oh noes she's making herself so small now. She's like, intrigued and angry and happy and scared to see Rio. They're both being so tentative!! And she doesn't actually know who Rio is because she's under the damn spell, so her body language and feelings are pure instinct. They come from somewhere very very true and deep. (and LOL that mug says "get a clue")
Is this who you are now, Agatha? the intense but lonely detective? she's genuinely interested, because Rio investigates Agatha just as Agatha investigates everybody else. Rio simply cannot get enough of her. and she keeps talking with this gentle, warm, understated tone.
Gains personal space. Keeps staring and staring.
oh now we're leaning. they do this every scene they are together, they keep getting closer and closer even if they don't mean to, like magnets.
Agatha literally bolts to the door and tells her to leave. Rio's presence is so overwhelming in so many different and complicated ways, and she doesn't even understand why that is at the moment. Kathryn Hahn is playing this perfectly straight (no pun intended), there is genuine pain in her voice.
"Te veo", which is not "see you," but I see you, I'm always looking for you, I'm always watching. And I finally see you, after all this time.
Oh, honey.
I'm running out of space again, but I promise I'll continue this tomorrow. Thank you for all the notes you guys, I was not expecting so many! I'm doing this mostly to amuse myself, but it's nice to know that the brainrot is collective 🙃🙃🙃

update now that Agatha is over: apparently I lack media literacy, what the fuck was that.
reading/watching other people's episode reactions is truly an exercise in "do you lack media literacy or do I lack media literacy"
#we're coming down on the side of I REALLY hated the finale (both parts) even if there were individual scenes I loved#I don't know if I've seen anyone else have as viscerally negative a reaction as I did#or if they did they're not talking about it where I can see#bedlam watches the mcu#agatha all along spoilers#between this and wandavision (which I think had a stronger finale) I am coming to the conclusion that jac schaeffer#comes from the j.j. abrams school of being terrific at set-up and not great at follow-through

thinking about how wanda haunts the narrative of agatha all along. the unidentified body in the forest. agatha trapped in her spell for literal years while everyone watches. the westview residents who refuse to speak her name. sharon’s hallucination in the trial. “wanda.” the look on agatha’s face. the way the coven says “the scarlet witch.” the constant echoes from wandavision. “is wanda dead?” “yes. no. maybe.” billy. “you are just like your mother.” agatha and wanda and their lost sons, their rage, their power and the evil things people believe about both of them. agatha letting herself hope that teen was nicky. the realisation that he is hers, and if she thought for even a second that the son of the woman who took her autonomy and her mind, trapped her for years and left everyone in westview scarred and terrified, could have been her own… “I am nothing like you,” but he is, and she is, and agatha may have sung the song, but wanda maximoff’s son forged the journey.

✿ ━━━ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫
( official title is still being contemplated … )
Agatha Harkness ✘ fem!human!reader ✘ Rio Vidal
Somewhat of a summary ( still workshopping ) :
Love is one you never thought to experience on Earth, and soon you would be departing from existence. But that did not signify you did not want it, and it seems your wants were heard because here you were, with not one but two lovers who fiercely loved you. Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal. You knew your departure was bound to come, but the more happiness and love you were surrounded with, the more it seemed it wasn’t bound to happen anytime soon because once Rio came into the picture, a new lover to you yet an old one to Agatha, your sickness seemed to have … postponed.
Given the background of Agatha and Rio’s disoriented and uncompleted love story, you knew that the only reason why Agatha Harkness allowed Rio back into her life, into yours was with one condition; Rio Vidal, Death herself was not to take you from Agatha. Death had come for Agatha’s and Rio’s son, Nicky Scratch centuries ago, and that was assistant to the major fracture in their relationship, their love. Rio somewhat had broken the order of natural balance when she allowed Agatha to have 6 years with Nicky, and now Rio once again finds herself unable to deny Agatha — and selfishly herself — your love, your presence to linger just a bit longer. Of course, you’re, in the meantime, unaware of this agreement between them.
Humans are already as fragile as they are, but you were much more. Your heart was sick, and their uncertainty only spirals more when this topic of childbirth is brought up. You thought as long as you were out of danger, as long as you had Agatha and Rio both, you’d be okay. You experienced love, but now you find yourself yearning for more of it — an experience to carry the life that embodies their love for you. It is risky, of course, with you being human and them being well, witches — or rather, one of them Death herself and Agatha considered a … witch murderer, to put it bluntly. Especially with the flaws of your heart, but you’d already tested the limits the moment you fell in love with two enhanced beings. And who are they to deny you? They try to make this possible for you, though your heart inhibits this, and it seems your lovers feel the same. And it soon comes with a rather heavy price.
Will contain : FLUFF, evolves MAJOR!angst, handful of emotional parts within this, implied smut though not entirely, mentions of blood, miscarriages, sick!reader, pregnant!reader, health issues, doctor talk, flashbacks, Agatha x Rio of COURSE — but there will be a handful of things occuring between these two and it’ll somewhat piss you off not because they’re having their own moments — you’re well aware they had a heavy history before you — but because these moments are about you and they don’t include you in them, MAJOR!CHARACTER DEATH, Agatha of course has a shit mouth, both love reader so much, like love LOVES her so much it makes your heart ACHE, neglecting infant / child, bittersweet moments, angst-y bittersweet ending

author’s note : hello there !! This idea has been ghosting the back of my mind for quite some time, but I never found the right motive until one day I revisited an old draft and the once dying concept just started building up — I will admit there are a few struggles ( minor details that have a major connection and importance in the end🥲🥲) I’m still having though I have the majority of the plot for this little fic.
Such as will this take place before, during, or after the Blip though before ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’, and if I want to include Lilia Calderu, Jennifer Kale, and perhaps even Alice Wu-Gulliver, since they could help also build up the plot, HOWEVER, they ( as in Lilia, Jen, and Alice ) will already be acquainted by then in ‘Agatha All Along’ if they are included in this.
HOWEVER …. Okay let me just keep it to myself because it’s so long — my idea on this possible fictional piece / series.😭😭 t’s still being contemplated, whether it could be a literal whole essay, or a mini-series, 2–4 parts maximum.
Would anyone be interested in reading this …? And possibly hearing my rants through dm’s??🥲🥲 if so, please let me know ! Have a wonderful day !!!

WHAT is going on with Agatha All Along??? With most shows you post about I can sort of guess what's going on but for AAA I only get more and more confused with each post.
okay Wanda and Vision's gay ass little toaster oven son lost his body at the end of 'wandavision' and then possessed the corpse of a dead 13 year old on the day of his bar mitzvah (the 13 year old was being played by a 21 year old. not relevant but guys. we could have tried slightly harder). he wants to find a way to get his straight ass little toaster oven brother into a new body. so he jail broke the witch his mother Specifically Jailed and they found some ragtag lesbian witches to make a coven so they can 'walk the witches road' which will grant them like, a wish or whatever at the end of it. evan peters character from wandavision came back and No One will convince me he's not his x-men character in witness protection program mode. side note I'm Pretty Sure the set for the road is literally just the set of the into the woods movie repurposed and I have no way of confirming that. everyone in the cast is unbelievably hot and so so mean to each other. there's a stevie nicks inspired power ballad. they keep being magically put in minxy little costumes. kathryn hahn has shown both tits AND ass. patti lupone is there.

Reasons why I immediately liked "Agatha All Along" in just the first two episodes (no spoilers!!)
Kathryn Hahn is unleashed, everything we liked about her in WandaVision is amped up to 11 and it is a joy to see.
The rest of the cast is stellar, everyone was carefully handpicked. They have actors and actresses from different age groups and ethnicities.
No queerbaiting: the gay characters are featured up front and center in the lead roles: they are the protagonist, the antagonist and the sidekick. It´s also not left ambiguous like other series have done before to "play it safe".
Like WandaVision, the series eschews regular superhero tropes.
The portrayal of witches: it shows how not all witches will necessarily get along and they are not all the same. They all have different specialties and ethics, the witchcraft community is not presented as monolithic as it is often portrayed in other tv shows and movies.
It´s both hilarious and moving.
Seriously, just go watch it!!

Free Hugs
Request: Apparently Kathryn does a back tickling thing when she hugs people, could you write something with that with the reader? 🤭
Note: Thank you for this request! I haven't seen a video of it, so I'm not sure how accurately I portrayed it. Hope you enjoy! :)
Word Count: 1052
----------------------------------------------------------
You were currently a TV show host, one who interviewed many celebrities to promote their upcoming movies and shows. Today you had Kathryn Hahn on as a guest and were preparing backstage beforehand.
You were a bit more nervous for this interview. You had interviewed plenty of A-list celebrities, but Kathryn still made you star-struck at times. There was a certain poise and confidence to her that you were in awe of. She knew just exactly what to say while maintaining her composure and always supported the right causes. She was just perfect.
You snapped out of your daydream when they notified you that Kathryn had arrived. Before interviewing them on TV, you would usually meet with them a few hours before filming to go over boundaries, questions, and which topics they were okay with sharing and which ones you should avoid.
You walked through the door and saw Kathryn arriving with her team, her hair up in a fancy updo, accompanied by a sleek pant suit that fit her perfectly. For being in her 50s, she didn’t look a day over 30.
“Hi Kathryn, how are you doing?” You asked, stepping forward to accept her hug.
“I’m awesome!” Kathryn cheered, hugging you tightly.
You suddenly felt her nails lightly tickling your back, causing you to quickly pull away from her embrace.
“What’s wrong dear?” Kathryn asked, genuinely concerned.
“N-nothing,” you stuttered, turning bright pink.
Kathryn was good at picking up on social cues, and this time she knew right away.
“Did that tickle?” She outright asked, smiling at your lack of eye contact.
“No!” You insisted.
“It’s okay if you’re ticklish, I just like doing that to people. It breaks the ice and also gives me a secret weapon,” Kathryn teased, wiggling her eyebrows at you.
You were too overwhelmed with embarrassment, so you quickly changed the subject and asked her to sit to talk about the interview.
Kathryn was there to promote her new show ‘Agatha All Along,’ which was streaming on Disney+. You asked her about how much she could reveal about the plot and for her to provide a little bit of background from WandaVision to help viewers understand when and where this show is taking place.
The two of you chatted more, as Kathryn also gave some insight on her personal life now that she was done filming for the show.
“Thank you so much for meeting up with me before the shoot! We’re gonna be on in 15 minutes, so if you need to use the restroom or anything go ahead!” You said, as you both got up.
“You’re not going to hug me again, are you?” You asked cautiously.
“What? You afraid I’m gonna tickle you again?” Kathyrn smirked.
“No…I just wanted to ask…” you trailed off, as Kathryn giggled at your embarrassment.
“Watch out, I just may embarrass you on live television,” Kathyrn playfully threatened.
Your cheeks burned again, imagining the embarrassment before it even happened. There was no way you could ever show your face again if that happened!
The two of you eventually came out onto the set, where there was a live audience, surrounded by lights and cameras everywhere.
You introduced Kathyrn to the crowd, and allowed her to answer some questions about the new show.
“So, what is like bonding with your coven? Were there any difficulties?” You asked her.
“Well, we all got along really well in my opinion, but with any new cast there’s always some ice to break here and there, but by the end of it you’re family,” Kathryn said.
You tensed slightly at the use of the phrase ‘ice to break,’ remembering that she had used that phrase earlier when she tickled you.
Kathryn knew you were gonna quickly change the subject before she could answer how she broke the ice, so she quickly continued before you could answer.
“There were a lot of little things I would do to break the ice, including giving free hugs,” Kathryn stated confidently. You knew you were trapped and would have to ask her more, or else it would be an abrupt change of subject and would make you look like a bad interviewer.
“I bet your cast members loved your hugs. Personally speaking, I received a hug from Kathryn before this interview and it was wonderful!” You said, as you had turned to the crowd to speak.
“They absolutely love them! Except for Aubrey, she hated them because I would give like a little gentle back tickle when I hug people and it would drive her nuts,” Kathryn said while laughing, as you froze, not expecting the forbidden t word to be dropped like that.
The audience laughed, and you joined in awkwardly, not knowing what to say next without stumbling over your words.
“Do you guys want a demonstration?” Kathryn asked the audience, as they all shouted in unison. Your eyes widened, as Kathryn got up.
“You want a free hug?” Kathryn asked you. You knew the ratings of your TV show would go up if you went along, but you knew the embarrassment would last forever. Maybe I can just hold my reaction in…you thought to yourself.
You walked into Kathryn’s hug, expecting the tickle to be around the lower part of your back, which she had done earlier. You braced yourself for it, only to be caught off guard by her nails tickling the upper part of your back.
You gasped and jumped away, squirming your shoulders away from the ticklish touch.
The crowd laughed, as Kathryn chuckled in glee.
“Well there’s one thing you and Aubrey have in common. Both ticklish on your backs,” Kathryn teased, giving your side a poke before going back to sit in her chair.
You tried to suppress a yelp and jump by quickly covering it up with a cough.
“Thanks for that demonstration,” you said sarcastically.
“My pleasure. It’s something Agatha would most definitely do, so I’m trying to give the crowd real authenticity,” Kathryn stated, making the crowd laugh.
You managed to get through the rest of the interview, but your head was still flying around the thought that Kathryn had tickled you in front of everyone. Rest assured, you would be staying off of social media for the next week to avoid the circulating videos.

Agatha Harkness: Character Study
I'm gonna be real with you: I do not read Marvel comics. I have read some that others have bough for me (Miss Marvel, for instance, which I loved) but I'm not really into comics like that. So I do not know the lore surrounding Agatha. Everything I know is from WandaVision and Agatha All Along and everything I write will also be based on that.
That being said, let's begin.
Agatha is dramatic.
This bitch is the most dramatic person I have ever seen and I love that for her, to be completely honest. She also gives so few fucks sometimes. Like when she was naked in the middle of a residential street, her cheeks just in the wind. Beautiful. Love to see it.
Like every time she wants to make a dramatic exit, she deliberately swishes the tail of her coat as she walks away. Even when there's nobody there to see it. Just for the vibes. Love that.
And she loves deeply and sometimes without her permission. You can just tell. When she's under Wanda's spell, chasing teen down the alley and he gets hit by the car, she is immediately concerned for this random child's safety. She makes sure that he's okay before anything else. You can't tell me that now, in episode four, she doesn't care for this kid like he's her own son (even if he's not). She gives him her coat, leaving her without the ability to swish it dramatically; that's love, bitch.
And I think she has this deep-seated guilt inside her. Like she blames herself for Nicholas's death, which I do think she does. She couldn't save him from his fate, as hard as she tried. I think that a big part of her anger at Rio is directed at herself, as well. She let her son go, which she will never forgive herself for.
And she loves Rio. We can see that so clearly when they share that moment in the woods. She tries not to, of course, but she can't really resist for long. And I don't think it's just because of their sexual past, but their romantic one, as well. There's no doubt in my mind that they were married in their past life. That, despite legality, they probably had a big ceremony, probably with witnesses there. They declared their love and pledged to be with one another, til death, smiling because they know even death won't keep them apart (one of them is Death, after all).
I am not really sure if Agatha was with a man before and that's how she got Nicholas, or if she had somehow adopted him with Rio (???) idk. All I know is she loved her son and she did not give him up for the Darkhold. His death left a pretty sizeable gap in her heart for sure. I feel like, no matter how Nicholas came into their lives, Rio also considered him hers.
(Side note: I need there to be a fight where Agatha takes out all of her grief about Nicholas on Rio, blaming her for his death and reaping his soul and Rio just shouts back "he was my son, too!" Is that too much to ask?)
She loved Rio and Nicholas so much and she lost them both in one fell swoop. When she got her hands on the Darkhold and Nicholas was already gone and Rio was the one that took him completely away, she made herself disappear so that Rio couldn't find her until Wanda took away her magic. Because the second that magic was gone and no longer hiding her, Rio found Agatha, probably yearning for her for however long it had been (decades? centuries?) since she'd last laid eyes on her. I wonder if there were any other "shows" that Rio was a guest star in. Medical dramas? Sitcoms? Dark comedies? Mockumentaries (totally not picturing their Parks & Rec characters rn)? Did Rio come to her as soon as Wanda took her magic? Did she wait a bit, try to play it cool? She definitely did with the crime drama.
Also Agatha's relationship with each of the other coven witches is...interesting.
I feel like Lilia was somewhat of a mentor to her in her early years, when she was still a young child, just learning to do magic. Maybe she was a neighbor. Maybe Agatha's mother detested her, which is why Agatha was fascinated by her.
Then there's Jennifer Kale, who is probably a bit younger than Agatha, but still centuries old. Had they met prior? It feels like they had a situationship that soured quickly. Maybe Jennifer was once a member of one of Agatha's covens, but dipped out before she had her powers - and life - drained. She was bound anyway, but not by Agatha, at least. I feel like they've kissed at least once, anyway.
I don't think Agatha had met Alice before, but maybe she knew her mother. She probably was a fan of the cover (she knew it so well) and might've crossed paths with Lorna once or twice. Lorna, who was terrified of a generational curse that may have been placed on her daughter. I can imagine Agatha saying, a bit callously, "at least you have a child to worry over still." I love that she was the one that figured out the protection spell for Alice.
Agatha is smart. So smart. She has centuries of knowledge, but it's not just that. She also - despite her callousness - is pretty intuitive. She is able to sense when somebody is stressed or double-guessing themselves and say exactly what they need to hear. She shows kindness in those moments. True kindness. For her, I believe it takes effort to be seriously cruel. She might have to justify it to herself.
She's obviously not a saint. She was the villain (yes, villain) in WandaVision. One of them, anyway. The major one. But I really love antagonists like this: complicated, three-dimensional, not completely evil.
When Agatha Harkness cares, she does so deeply and sometimes against her will. I can't imagine she immediately fell in love with Rio Vidal. That was definitely a slow burn, but one that fully consumed her eventually until the only way to really get away from Rio was to shroud herself with dark magic so that Rio couldn't find her. I think she knew that, when and if Rio found her, she would be unable to resist for too long before falling back into her embrace.
I really love this character.

The almost kiss in Agatha All Along kills me because Rio could've had it. She could've just let Agatha continue to believe what she believed in that moment, and Rio could've had the kiss that she so clearly wanted.
But she didn't. Rio stopped her. Told her the truth.
Rio doesn't just want Agatha. She wants Agatha's forgiveness. Rio wants Agatha to love her with the full knowledge that whatever happened with her son (I strongly suspect, as many do, that Rio as Death took him) has not been reversed or remedied.
And Agatha isn't there yet. Agatha isn't ready to say "I know what happened, I know you had to do it, and I still love you. I forgive you."
Am I hoping that's where this leads? That that will be the growth between them? Yes. I am.
Am I also hoping that it doesn't result in Rio, well, not dying because of who I suspect her to be, but somehow becoming irrevocably separated from Agatha? Also yes.
This would be an incredibly healing arc for both of them and would fit with the theme that Agatha All Along seems to be continuing from WandaVision (coming to terms with grief/trauma).

the things im reading here are really saddening.. this week's episode was a really good one, it finally unraveled the mystery surrounding one of the main characters, and also explained how we got to where we are now. It was fun, it was emotional and it was intense. as well as a declaration of intentions for the characters.
agatha and billy are now standing on equal ground. they're seeing each other face to face (mostly. because there's still more agatha backstory to discover) in the sense that the sigil is broken, the jig is up, and even though at this point they both have issues with each other, they know they still have to work together to get through the road. It's a mutually beneficial treuce.
This happening now is necessary to lay the groundwork for their actual development. Agatha being visibly pissed at him but still telling him he is a witch?? And a survivor?? That's such an interesting fucking moment!!! It's an interesting dynamic and it's so well done!!
It's episode 6! Which means there are still three whole episodes left. Have you people not watched the mid season trailer? (If you actually haven't I won't say anything specific but read at your own risk) the show is still about agatha. It's been about agatha (all along [i couldn't resist.]) Come on now, haven't you all watched wandavision either? It's the same people doing this show and the structure is pretty similar. Have a little faith.
I get wanting to see your favorite characters and their every interaction but that's actually not what the show is about. Is Rio a crucial character of this story and her relationship with agatha a huge deal on this show? Of course. But so is Billy. That's why we needed this episode, because he is important to the story and to agatha herself.
I don't know. To me it's just pretty obvious that the whole thing with Agatha and her past is going to be the big BIG emotional climax because it is the big BIG foundation that makes Agatha, Agatha. It's quite literally the point. To know how Agatha got here, what she wants, what she's willing to give up, to do, in order to get it. Whether she can actually be good or not. Whether this is a redemption story or not. Whether she changes, if the road changes her this time. Whether she forgives Rio or not. Hell, even if she lives or dies. This is what the show is about. Every episode has shown us a different part of Agatha up until now, even this one. And so, the remaining episodes will be the same. They'll be the answer, just like this episode was the answer to Billy's questions (who is, again, crucial to the story, Agatha as a character and a part of the coven). And I believe that will include the coven's history, rio, nicholas, and of course Agatha.
[Also, i find being upset about the heart a little silly. The note had a black heart that symbolized Billy because due to the sigil, he couldn't say his name to the others, Lilia could not write a name she couldn't know or remember. To AGATHA (and the viewers) the black heart symbolized Rio, because that's what black hearts remind her of. That's why she had such a visceral reaction to it, why she hid it from 'teen' and refused to accept it. BOTH things are true and that's fine. It's good writing because it made sense back in episode 2. It makes sense now in episode 6. And it was never an actual lie.]
