Hello hello hello! (I'm @writeblr-of-my-own, this is my main which I don't use anymore lol)
Sooo tell us something about your story! What is the plot? Who are the characters? What genre do you like writing the most?
Thanks for asking! (Also sorry for replying so late, I didn’t realize I had so many asks!)
So I have a couple story WIPs right now, but I’ll focus on my story Tarah’s Scrapbook for this. (Also Tarah’s Scrapbook is not the final name)
The setting is a small village in the late 1800s, although not everything will be completely accurate as to how it was back then, because the world does contain a bit of magic.
The main character is Tarah, who had just chased her dream, opening a boutique. Her two best friends are Victoria, a super extrovert and pastry enthusiast, and Esryn, a introverted and kind elf with a tragic past (that he really doesn’t like bringing up). Soon after Tarah opens her boutique, a new visitor comes into town, hoping to open up a apothecary or botany shop. This new visitor is is very charismatic and friendly, although they don’t seem to mention too much about their past. (Kinda spoilers after this point)
People start disappearing, and Tarah immediately suspects The Botanist (the visitor), but no matter how hard she tries to find evidence, nothing is matching up properly. And it doesn’t help that Victoria is too love-blinded to even consider The Botanist as the suspect.
~
That’s as much as I have right now! I’ll work on more in-depth characters and plotting soon.

I now present to you all: Ivy Buckingham!! One of my older OCS that I haven't drawn or (sadly) paid much attention to ever since I created her around 2018-2019! Luckily now she looks ever better than she did before!
(more in-depth info will be below)
Owner of a semi-popular flower shop that resides in Bright Light City and across the street from Wispy and Dave's apartment complex, Ivy Buckingham is a species of skunk called the Plant Skunk
A special species of skunk that instead of omitting a foul oder like most skunks do, the plant skunk will alternatively omit a pleasant scent similar to many types of flowers and fauna, having their own scent special to them to tell each other apart (for example for Ivy, her scent smells of roses) and they also are seen having a certain plant specific to the individual plant skunk wrapped around their tails (for Ivy, she has Ivy vines wrapped around her tail). On top of that, they are also very well known to have elemental abilities that are connected to plants and the earth, hence being able to grow plants with nothing but their paws and tail
Ivy had moved to Bright Light City from a small country town that was very well known for their farming, agriculture, and most of all, their flowers and fauna to start a life of her own and to expose the city folks to the beauty of nature via her plants. She was 22 years old when she arrived in Bright Light City and met Wispy and Dave while she was finding her way around the city and had just so happened to walk into the Millenni-Yum to ask for directions to her new home at the time, Wispy having an instant crush on her since
The flower shop that she had opened a year later is called The RoseLace Flower Boutique, which specializes in flowers, succulents (such as cactuses, aloe), and evergreen climbing vines (such as ivy plants, star jasmine, and clematis). The shop has been featured in a few gardening and home decorating magazines and has had a feature on a popular gardening tv show called Rose Tinted Sundays with Ms. Daisy Duke
Wispy and Ivy are both currently crushing on each other and they both love to tease each other, whether it be by flirting on Ivy's part or saying outrageous bullcrap on Wispy's end. Due to the both of them still feeling like they still need time for themselves and their careers (for Ivy at least) and both still wanting to date other people (they're both poly anyhow so even when they do start officially dating, they would still be WILDIN), they are only on a super casual dating status
To describe Ivy's personality in the simplest of terms: she's simultaneously a southern belle and a party girl all in one. She loves having a good time in any way she can (from taking care of her plants to going to the nightclubs around the city to party) and is very well known for her flirtatious manner towards those she finds an attraction to all while still being down to earth, level headed, and very intelligent despite how she presents herself and will not take any sort of BS she feels she doesn't have to deal with
----------------------------------------------------
Notes:
She has graduated college with a degree in Botany/Plant Sciences
One of her favorite nightclubs in Bright Light City to go to is The Uranium Banana, Bright Light City's biggest and most famous nightclub of all. It is also Wispy's favorite nightclub and they frequently bump into each other there
She has a childhood best friend that is from and still lives in her hometown named Melly Lynn, who is a watermelon farmer there. They send each other letters pretty much every week or so
Her father was a farmer while her mother was a florist in their hometown, her mother even owning her own flower shop there, which was what inspired Ivy to open The RoseLace
Her favorite kinds of plants and flowers are roses, ivy, hen and chicks, aloe, clematis, star jasmine, daisies, buttercups, irises, daffodils, and carnations
She lives in a small condo that is right next to the RoseLace, so going to and from work for her is a breeze!
------------------------------------------------------
This was so much work for me this time around, but I hope you guys can admire it!
Please enjoy!!

Fancy a day at the beach?
With the next bank holiday just round the corner and we’re beginning to think about going further a field – thoughts of day trips spring to mind and if the weather starts to behave, the beach has to be one of our favourite destinations. So here’s around up of our favourite spots that are also not too far from Surrey…
Camber Sands, East Sussex
As recommended by Andrew Stanyard, Associate Director, Reigate
Camber Sands is a truly gorgeous stretch of golden beach and sand dunes. At nearly 5 miles long, there will always be somewhere to lay your beach towel. The best section of beach is the western end, near where the River Rother empties into the sea. Here it is wall to wall sand, whilst further along the beach it becomes more shingly.
It’s a popular windsurfing / kite-surfing spot which might suggest it is worth packing a windbreak! Despite its fantastic natural assets, Camber Sands remains largely unspoilt. For the larger part of the year, there is a good chance of finding some solitude here and even in the height of summer the crowds are bearable.
Dog friendly? – Dogs are allowed all year but between May and September they must be on a lead and restricted between beach Zones F & H.
Travel time – Approx 1hr 30mins from RH2
West Wittering, West Sussex
As recommended by Michelle Cheshire, Lettings Manager, Oxted
A firm favourite with most of the office is the beautiful beach at West Wittering. Unfortunately, it is also a firm favourite with most of the south-east so make sure you set off early to avoid the traffic.
Offering wonderful views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond, the natural and unspoilt sandy beach of West Wittering is the perfect spot for a day at the beach. The extensive acres of neatly mown grass close to the beach are perfect for parking and picnics. The sea is popular with wind and kite surfers, while shallow lagoons are left on extensive sandy flats at low tide. The whole area is internationally recognised for its wildlife, birds and unique beauty.
Dog friendly? Bins are provided and dog free zones are in place from May to September.
Travel time – Approx 1hr 30mins from RH2
Climbing Beach, West Sussex
As recommended by Emma West, Manager, Reigate
Climping beach is a lot quieter than its grander neighbour – The Witterings. It is also more rurally located about halfway between Littlehampton and Bognor. Like many of the beaches along this stretch of the Sussex coast, it is made up of shingle and pebbles held in place by a series of wooden groynes and as the tide goes out, a vast expanse of sand is exposed. The beach is backed by low sand dunes and fields. Much of this area is now protected, being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There are few facilities on the beach, so be prepared with a well stocked picnic, but just behind the beach is Bailiffs Court, the boutique hotel and spa, which would make a lovely overnight stay (when restrictions allow).
Dog friendly? Yep!
Travel time – About 1hr 10 from RH2
Broadstairs, Kent
As recommended by Charlotte Simons, Marketing, Reigate
On the East Coast of Kent Broadstairs is a gem a town, full of seaside charm mixed with seaside chic and it boasts an impressive seven sand-filled beaches and bays. Head to Joss Bay to learn to surf, or rural Botany Bay to saunter amid towering chalk stacks. At the town’s main beach, Viking Bay, discover children’s rides, beach huts, Kent Surf School, a harbour and cliff-top promenade. Check out Morellis, the retro ice cream parlour along the promenade which has been open since 1932.
Dog friendly? During the summer months there are time restrictions on most of the beaches between 10am-6pm
Travel time – About 1hr 30 from RH2
Whitstable, Kent
As recommended by Andy Wilkins, Branch Manager, Oxted
The chic seaside town of Whitstable, on the North Kent Coast, has been a longtime favourite location for Londoners to get away from it all. The beach itself is a long stretch of shingle divided up by wooden groynes. It runs from just south of the town’s harbour to neighbouring Seasalter -a distance of around a mile, where you will find the The Sportsman, the well renowned and Michelin starred pub.
Despite the lack of sand Whitstable is still a fantastic spot. It represents the best of the traditional British seaside; not piers and donkey rides, but quirkiness and charm. There are beach huts, weatherboard cottages, fishing boats pulled up on the beach and the Neptune pub sits practically on the beach. There are a few other places to grab a bite to eat along the beach too, including the Whitstable Oyster Company restaurant if you fancy something a little upmarket.
Whitstable beach is popular for windsurfing and sailing, with the Whitstable Yacht Club located at the northern end.
To top this all off Whitstable beach faces west meaning it is a great place to catch a sunset.
Dog friendly? Yep!
Travel time – About 1hr 30 from RH2
Ferring, West Sussex
As recommended by Jordon Gladman, Assistant Manager, Lingfield
There is one very good reason to go to the pebbly beach at Ferring, just west of Worthing and that is the Bluebird Cafe which sits right on the beach and has built up quite a reputation for itself. It makes an ideal spot for an early morning stroll. Pooches are allowed on the beach, and then a slap up brunch at the cafe.
Dog friendly? Yes!
Travel time – Approx 1 hr from RH2

Kirkland's Natural Beauty Oasis: Exploring the World of Botanical Beauty
Tumblr media
Introduction
Skincare embraces the power of natural ingredients to enhance and rejuvenate our skin, resulting in a radiant and youthful complexion. And in Kirkland, Washington, a city known for its lush greenery and love for all things natural, botanical beauty is taking root in a big way.
The Rise of Botanical Beauty
Botanical beauty is not a fad; it's a movement driven by a desire for clean, sustainable, and effective skincare solutions. Botanical Beauty offers a refreshing alternative in a world where we're increasingly conscious of what we put on our skin. Rather than relying on synthetic chemicals and harsh ingredients, it harnesses the nourishing properties of plants, herbs, and other natural elements.
Kirkland's Natural Beauty Oasis
Nestled amidst the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Kirkland provides the perfect backdrop for embracing botanical beauty. The city's commitment to preserving its natural surroundings and promoting a healthy lifestyle aligns seamlessly with the principles of botanical skincare. It's no wonder that Kirkland has become a hub for those seeking natural and holistic beauty solutions.
A Paradise for Botanical Enthusiasts
Kirkland boasts a thriving botanical beauty scene, with numerous local businesses and boutiques offering high-quality, plant-based skincare products. These establishments prioritize sustainability and source their ingredients responsibly, ensuring that their effects are beneficial for your skin and eco-friendly.
Benefits of Botanical Beauty

🇬🇧 English Text A merry Fall season to you all! 🎃 I can’t believe I haven’t posted here all year. You’re not missing much, mind you, as I haven’t been productive lately, but still! I’m not truly gone. I regularly check on my dashboard, as I tend to do. ;) As you may know, other social media platforms have taken some... unfortunate turns. Some artists are considering coming back to tumblr, it seems. So! About this piece. In 2019, on Instagram, I held a small colouring contest with lineart of a witch climbing stairs, surrounded by lively pumpkins. I felt it best to leave those lines blank to honour everyone's wonderful participations, but I always wondered what my own take on the colours would be. I thought: why not draw a different piece, with the same themes? So, this year, I offer you a humble wizard, and his very own pumpkins and squashes. A meek and gentle soul, his passion for botany often brings him to autumn fairs and festivals every year, where he gets to nerd out about plants with fellow farmers and witches. 🍂
I wish you all a decent month of November! Stay safe, everyone.
