better than the movies
summary. a new love blossoms between two people who could not be more different from each other. and no seungkwan, it is not because of your self-proclaimed 'stellar cupid skills', shut up!
pairing. cinephile! c.hs x bookworm! reader wc. 1.1k warnings. profanity, agggtm and its two sequels are movies in this. genre. crack, fluff, non-idol! au, intentional lowercase. a/n. this was requested by one of my very lovely moots and was a blast to write. @nonononranghaee hope you like it đ€
you were browsing through the shelves of your local library looking for the sequel of the novel you had finished that afternoon.
you were growing increasingly desperate as you browsed shelf after shelf of the literature section but to no avail.
tired and miserable, you dragged yourself over to the librarian and asked her about the book,
"hello, do you have a copy of 'good girl, bad blood' by holly jackson?"
the librarian glances at you before going to her computer and looking through the library's online database. she turns to you with an apologetic smile before informing you the tragic news,
"i'm so sorry darling but someone checked it out just this morning."
your face visibly falls at her statement. the librarian, feeling a bit sorry for you, asks,
"i can put it on hold for you when it gets back if you'd like?"
you give her a somber smile before nodding your head.
you turn to leave but recall an incident that had taken place a few weeks ago at your place.
"seungkwan i swear to every god in the universe, if you don't give my book back i will suffocate you in your sleep, you sneaky little bitch!" you yell, chasing your best friend around your apartment as he maneuvers around your furniture, waving your book in the air.
he finally stops, standing on your futon while holding the book above his head and out of your reach.
"y/n listen. the deal is simple. agree to go on a blind date and i'll give you the book back. easy, right?"
you look at him incredulously before climbing on the futon and kicking him in the shin. not too hard, just enough so his knees would buckle. he immediately drops your book in favour of inspecting his now injured shin.
"this is what happens when you play with fire kwan. now i have a book to finish so get out!"
he mumbles something about 'stealing the sequel' before slamming your door shut on his way out.
you turn on your heel and go back to the librarian's desk. mustering up your courage, you ask her,
"may i know who checked it out? in case it's someone i know?"
she looks at you, a little confused, before turning to her computer. a few seconds later, she reads off of the screen,
"it seems a person by the name of 'boo seungkwan' has borrowed this book."
you chuckle under your breath, thank her, and storm out of the library furiously typing on your phone.
y/nie boo seungkwan!! when i fucking get you, its soo over for u. kwangerine y/n! what's got you like this at....2:13pm? y/nie idk kwan :| maybe it's the fact that you checked out the sequel to my book from the library:/ kwangerine ah so you found out :D welp, if you want it, come to heaven's cloud at 5:30 hehehe y/nie gremlin ass kwangerine :P
you sigh for what seems to be the millionth time today.
as you start walking towards your apartment, you make a mental note of everything you have to do today.
first, you have to pick up the laundry on the way to your apartment.
then, you have to go to heaven's cloud to murder seungkwan get your book back.
once back in your apartment, you decide to change before heading out to heaven's cloud. it wouldn't a very nice impression of you to go to your best friend's cafe clad in a concert tee and sweatpants.
you change into a dress and put on some light makeup before heading out.
the smell of coffee and vanilla envelops you as soon as you step into heaven's cloud cafe. you look around for seungkwan, but don't spot him.
but you DO spot his roommate, sitting in seungkwan's favourite spot holding your book, looking a bit...nervous?
you walk up to him and stand in front of him. when he doesn't notice you, you call him,
"vernon? did seungkwan send you?"
"y/n? you look...nice."
"thanks? you still haven't answered my question?"
he laughs a bit before gesturing for you to sit down. you sit in front of him as he starts to talk,
"so what happened is, i was watching the 'a good girl's guide to murder' movie right? seungkwan came in mumbling something about you being to engrossed in books to even have a social life."
you just roll your eyes at the perfect description of your best friend before telling him to continue.
"and then he looks at me and starts going off about how we're exactly like each other but also exact opposites."
"as in? what does that mean?"
"as in i wouldn't read a book to save my life and according to him, you would only watch a movie over your dead body. and-"
you interrupt him, knowing exactly where he was going with this.
"-and also. i'm a huge bookworm and you're a...movie connoisseur?"
he chuckles before answering you,
"well, the term is cinephile but yeah. a movie connoisseur of sorts."
"yeah whatever. and seungkwan thought it would be good idea to pull whatever he pulled and make this a date. am i right?"
he freezes up a bit before nodding slowly. you, on the other hand, did not know what to feel. had seungkwan done this because of how many times you had gushed to him whenever there was a opposites attract trope in your cheesy little romance novels, or had he finally figured out your yearlong crush on his extremely attractive roommate?
it is only after you finally look at vernon do you realise he had asked you a question. you smile sheepishly while asking him to repeat the question because you hadn't been paying attention.
he merely chuckles before repeating his question,
"were you not aware this was a date? because seungkwan told me you knew."
"nope. didn't have a clue."
"ah. you can leave if you want, i don't really mind."
you feel a pang of disappointment in your chest at his statement. you take a deep breath and work up the courage to ask him the one question you've been meaning to ask him for the past year.
"vernon. do you, perhaps, like me? like, romantically?'
vernon all but spits out his drink at your sudden question (or was it a confession?)
he regains his composure before answering you,
"yeah! i mean, yes uhm, i have liked you, for like, uhh a year at this point i think."
you audibly laugh at his stuttering and ask him the million dollar question.
"do you want this date to go on?"
sure, but only if we can go back to my place so i can tell you why the movie is better than the book."
"that is, quite literally, impossible but sure, also only if i can tell you, factually, that the book is always, and i mean always, better than the movies."
the two of you laugh at your statement and continue with the date. a few tables behind you guys, there was a very pleased human cupid sipping on his iced americano, eavesdropping on your guys' conversation every so often.

GOOD GIRLS ARE BAD GIRLS THAT HAVENâT BEEN CAUGHT!
âčâ â summary. - she's a saint, or is she...?
â tags/warnings. àż âȘ nsfw freak shit, public sex, dom!gabriel, sub!reader, unprotected sex, library sex, creampie, reader is reading some random porn book, mentions of reader being an english major/wants to become an english teacher, slight mentions of reader getting made fun of. â«
âčâ â pairing - gabriel x fem!reader
âčâ â note - based off of good girls by 5 seconds of summer. requests are open!!
PEOPLE thought you were a bookworm nerd. And everytime someone would encounter you, you had your nose in a book.
At first, this behavior was frustrating to others. People around you would comment on how bookish you were and it made them uncomfortable. They thought that your lack of social interaction meant you had little interest in being a part of a friend group, or even getting to know them better as individuals.
You didn't care though. You had aspirations, plans, dreams that you wanted to pursue. You knew that the knowledge in those books would help prepare you for your future, and so you studied and read voraciously.
Everyone knew you as an A student, an avid reader and writer, and overall a goody-two shoes.
Your parents knew that you had your life on track, no record of having any relationships. They were proud that their child turned out to be an innocent girl.
Or that's what they thought.
Being an english teacher was a thought you had at a young age, and it had only grown more concrete as you matured. During lectures, you found yourself daydreaming about being in front of a classroom leading discussions and introducing students to new ideas.
And that's what made Gabriel like you.
Gabriel worked at the library you went to, and was a doctoral student. He noticed you spending hours at a time in the library, and was fascinated by how deeply you absorbed yourself into books. He would find an excuse to stop by and talk with you, always asking about the book you were reading.
Everytime you two would talk, there was a spark of interest between you both that was hard to ignore. You found yourself looking forward to your conversations, and he seemed happy just to be in your presence.
As time passed, Gabriel had started asking for more of your time outside the library - suggesting coffee dates and movie nights. You were hesitant at first, but something inside told you there was a connection worth exploring.
Today, you were sitting at a round table hidden at the back of the library, wearing a sundress that was appropriate for the weather. The spot that you sat in the library was rarely touched, tucked away and forgotten. It was the perfect spot to read without any distractions.
Only this time, you were criss-crossed on the chair, your pussy sitting on the heel of your foot as you read⊠a "book." It was mindless, but a habit. You had no idea he was watching you until he suddenly made himself known with a light chuckle.
He grinned widely as he stood behind the seat across from you. He could see what you were doing, the tent in his pants growing.
"I thought you were here to read," Gabriel said, amusement lacing his words.
You blushed as your face grew hot in embarrassment. You weren't sure how to respond so you stayed quiet and looked away from him, trying your best not to meet his gaze.
"I am. I was just getting comfortable," you said softly.
He raised an eyebrow, âSo⊠Getting comfy as you basically read a porn book. Gotcha.â
Gabriel chuckled, taking a seat across from you. He crossed his leg and adjusted his glasses, leaning forward to meet your gaze. âI'm not judging you - I think it's kind of cute that you have a thing for reading erotica," he said with a smirk on his face.
A scoff escaped your lips, "I don't have a thing for erotica, Gabe."
"Oh, I think you do," Gabriel said as he leaned in closer. His eyes were intense and his voice was low. "I think if we had more time, I would teach you all kinds of things about erotica that will make this book look tame."
He was getting bold with you, something that youâd never expect. You felt a thrill run through your body and you couldn't help but smile. You were glad Gabriel was still here, even if it wasn't for the reason he thought. "Oh yeah?" you asked, raising an eyebrow at him in challenge.
"Oh yeah." Gabriel said confidently as he disappeared under the table, out of sight. You heard a soft chuckle before you felt gentle pressure on your inner thigh, taking your breath away. Gabriel's hands traveled up and down your legs, sending sparks of pleasure everywhere he touched. You couldn't help but moan in response.
You frantically looked around, scared that someone would find you, especially Gabriel under the table. You felt his lips brush against your inner thigh, sending a shiver down your spine. You knew that if you kept going like this, you wouldn't be able to stop. But at the same time, you didn't want to stop either.
His breath fanned over your now exposed pussy, and you found yourself rocking your hips towards him in anticipation. He slowly licked and teased your most sensitive areas, sending wave after wave of pleasure coursing through your body. Every muscle tensed up as his tongue worked its magic. You gripped the edge of the table tightly, trying to hold on to the intense sensations that Gabriel was giving you until it passed, but it was almost too much to handle.
Quiet whimpers left your mouth, finding it hard to stay quiet in a library out of all places. You had no idea what kind of trouble you would get into if someone caught you. But in that moment, all that mattered was the pleasure he was giving you and your own pleasure.
Your hands found its way to his hair, lightly tugging on his dark strands. He moaned in response, sending a thrill down your spine. His hands brought you closer to the edge as his tongue continued to work wonders on your clit.
The feeling of euphoria was at its peak, but was soon shattered as a figure stood into your spot of the library. It was one of Gabrielâs co-workers, who looked oblivious to what was happening.
It was a great opportunity for you to use your leg to bring in another chair, blocking their view of him. You were both thankful for the temporary cover, and Gabriel pulled his lips away from your pussy, leaving you to whine a little.
âHey! Have you seen Gabe by any chance?â His co-worker asked, oblivious to the noise they made.
You breathed a sigh of relief and put your hand over Gabriel's mouth as he started to snicker. After a few moments, you dropped your hand and managed to whisper back saying, âNo, I havenât seen him around in the past few minutes. He must have gone outside for some fresh air or some-THING!" You yelped, Gabrielâs tongue pressing up against your folds.
The figure gave you a confused look before shrugging and walking off, leaving the two of you alone again. You looked back to Gabriel with an amused smirk, âReally? You couldnât control yourself for a few more minutes?â
He got up from under the table, a mischievous smirk stretching across his face. âWhat can I say? I couldnât resist.â He pulled you into his arms and kissed your neck. âNow, letâs finish what we started.â
His arms carried you to sit on the round table, and you felt his hand sliding up your thigh, exploring your body. You could feel the warmth of his hands on your skin as he touched and teased every inch of you. His lips found their way back to yours, claiming them in a passionate kiss that only left you wanting more.
His fingers trailed lower and lower, until they reached your core. You gasped as he expertly found his way through your folds, exploring every inch of you. His tongue pressed up against you in ways that sent shivers down your spine. Every movement felt more and more pleasurable to you and before long, it became too hard to resist any longer.
You let out a desperate moan as your body lost itself in the pleasure. Your climax hit you like a wave of electricity, and with one last gasp, it finally faded away.
Gabriel wasnât done though, his hand fumbling with your shirt, leaving your breasts exposed to the cold air now. He took each of them in turn, kissing and licking them until you felt yourself being pulled under again.
You found yourself biting your lip to suppress the lewd noises about to leave your mouth, and your hands found its way to his pants. You let out a satisfied groan when you felt his erect cock in your hands, guiding it inside you.
As he entered your wet pussy, you both let out a moan of pleasure. With that entrance alone, you would've came right on the spot.
But Gabriel kept going, his thrusts becoming more and more desperate.
You could feel yourself close to orgasm, your body shaking in anticipation. Gabriel picked up the pace as he felt you tensing up, and with a few more thrusts you were both at the edge.
âMâgonna cum! P-Please let me cum!â Your cries were desperate, and it didnât take long for Gabriel to grant your wish.
"Come on baby, let go," he breathed heavily into your ear. You obliged his request and it did exactly what he wanted. Your body shook and tightened as the pleasure coursed through your veins, and soon you were moaning out loud.
Your loud moan was cut off by his hand, muffling the pleasurable noises bubbling out your mouth.
Gabriel's thrusts were frantic and erratic, his cock twitching inside you as both of your bodies were shaking. You could feel him getting closer and closer to orgasm, his breathing becoming more labored with each passing second, and you knew that he was almost there.
"Shit... Shit... Fuck!" Gabriel groaned as he came inside of you, the feeling making you more full. He pulled out, and you could feel his cum spilling out of you and it only added to the pleasure that was radiating through your body.
Now, you both were recovering from your post-orgasmic state, fixing your clothes as if nothing happened.
Though both of you were silent, there was an undeniable feeling of satisfaction in the air, one that only came from shared pleasure and love. You looked into each otherâs eyes and smiled, knowing that what just happened was so much more than physical. It was a connection, honest and pure, that could only be experienced through the love between two people.
âI would do it again, yâknow?â Gabriel said, a smirk gracing his face.
"Absolutely not," You said, rolling your eyes.
But you both knew that it was a lie. There was no way either of you would turn down this moment again.
You got down from the table, your knees wobbling as you tried to keep yourself steady. Lastly, you gave him a kiss on the cheek, smiling.
"See ya, Gabe." You said, winking at him before walking away.
Gabriel smiled as he watched you walk away,
his cum oozing down your leg.

With First Date Bait they went out for me! Afterwards, they informed me if it was recommended to go out on a second date. Itâs amazing with a 99.99% accuracy rate! Thatâs how I ended up meeting my husband!

âWRITTEN IN BETWEEN THE LINES...â
đ genre: fluff ~~ âïž word count: 1076 đ summary: kuroo had nothing to do one slow afternoon, until you caught his eye and... he just knew he had to get to know you. but, it seems that he's gotten to know himself better after meeting you: he officially has a thing for bookworms. chatty yet shy ones, in fact. đ„ author's note: i need more friends like y/n / reader fr... ALSO IF Y'ALL CAUGHT THE REFERENCE ON WHICH GHIBLI MOVIE THIS IS BASED OFF, MARRY ME RN
kuroo could remember the first time he laid eyes on you, he was at the public library looking for advanced chemistry textbooksâor at least, pretending to look for a book that had word vomits of stuff he already knew very well, like the back of his hand. it was a slow afternoon, he had nothing to do since kenma and his family were out of town for the weekend, and he didn't want to stay holed up in his room doing nothing.
he had tried to fit in with everyone else there, running the tips of his slender fingers over the used and fresh spines of the books on the shelves he couldn't bother to read the section names of; to him, they were all the same, he knew most of what these books and journals had to offer. ultimately, he decided to check out the section that was most foreign to him: the fiction books section.
he saw a multitude of names, a flurry of colors that flew by his eyes as he mumbled out the titles off the books he pulled out of the shelves and from their spines. kuroo wasn't even sure what exactly he was looking for here, or what he was even supposed to be doing at the library, he just... needed somewhere to bide his time, somewhere to feel less lonely; and yet, he had felt lonelier and lonelier the more time he spent there.
on the verge of giving up, he accidentally bumped into someone about a foot shorter than him. he hurriedly apologized, seeing that the one he bumped into was... a very cute girl. "oh, i'm... really sorry, here, let me help you," he offered, helping you pick up the books that flew out of your hands when he bumped into you. you silently nodded your thanks, mumbling it out in case it came out unclear to him.
kuroo noticed that the books you were carrying were all... interesting, to say the least. "hmm, never heard of these authors before..." he thought aloud, making your head perk up slowly. you bit your lower lip, trying your hardest not to comment on that. you were an avid reader of those authors, quite passionate about their books and the genres they write, to say the least. "they're great writers..." you mumble out shyly, feeling a cold shiver down your fingers and a warm tingle down your spine; this boy was too cute, in your opinion, you couldn't keep a level head around him, at all.
when your shy little voice entered kuroo's ear, a playful smile appeared on the boy's angular face. "really? well, i don't really know much about fiction, and, uh... you seem like you knew a good amount of it to get a newbie like me started. so, care to recommend me some good writers and genres?" he asked you in a husky voice, making you even more bashful at the fact such a hot boy was asking you for book recommendations, the second thing you were most passionate about in the whole world.
your first favorite thing in the whole world, however... was getting totally engrossed in the stories you were reading. it was a one of a kind experience only you could go through, because of course, everyone had different interpretations of the texts they were reading; but you always had a fondness for discovering the rich backgrounds, symbolisms, and stories the authors wished to reach their audiences. and kuroo was more than willing to listen to you go on and on about the stories you loved, even if a shy cutie like you would take forever to open up.
for the first time in his life, the boy finally didn't feel so alone, so isolated, so out of place setting foot here in the library; he felt at peace, something he yearned for ever since he came here.
"wow, they all sound so intriguing; guess i'll have to borrow those books after you finish them." "i... already did." you mumbled, avoiding eye contact with him. he blinked his hazelnut eyes twice in disbelief. "you finished... all of them?" he asked in a soft voice, with you nodding in response. kuroo chuckled to himself, leaning closer to you. "you're impressive..." he whispered in your ear, sending shivers up your spine, good shivers, good tinglesâyou could tell that, somehow, he genuinely was impressed by your dedication for reading.
kuroo stayed with you until the end of the day, and when it was time for you to return all the books you borrowed, he followed up with the librarian, stating, "excuse me, may i borrow all those books afterwards? they're... very interesting, i'd like to read them. all of them," he uttered with a smile, looking at you with a glowing grin on his face.
the librarian eventually agreed, asking kuroo for his name and signing his name after yours on every book you returned, that he was soon going to borrow. "y'know what, i'll bet that i'm going to read every book here that has your name on the back of it. i probably won't be interested in any other book if i don't see your name on it, it wouldn't make me interested."
his words made your heart beat a little faster, your knees shake a bit. you fidgeted with your fingers, looking down at your shoes and the floor, as if the right thing to respond to his words were there, hidden in between the lines of where the tiles met. "but... why would you...? why me?" "because, why not? you're amazing, and i want to be a part of your world; your literary world, if you will," kuroo beamed, grinning after confessing that.
it had only been a day, but, you felt like today was a gem in the days that felt like dull, bland charcoal. today, you met a wonderful boyâa boy whose life you didn't realize you'd changed, by simply letting him in, and showing him the beauty of your mind and heart when it came to your interest in the art of words and imagination.
you'd better get used to seeing that rooster headed, teasing boy every weekend now; he has something to brag to kenma about when he'd get back from his family outing.
but the one thing to ruin kuroo's evening is this realization he had over dinner: he forgot to ask you for your number.

Yes sirâŠ
Thank you @succnfuccubus for inspiring me to write this and convincing me to actually do this
Summary: After another rejection, Billyâs feeling a little down in the dumps. But after meeting with your friend that morning and looking at a unique source material, you get a very unique idea on how to hopefully cheer him up.
Authors Note: Gave the friend a name as it was just easier. I loved the idea, but I donât like this for some reason
Taglist: @valeskafics, @humanpurposes, @watercolorskyy, @omgbrcat @blue-serendipity @arcielee @targaryenbarbie @anjelicawrites d
Warnings: Smut books, p in v sex, m oral, praise kink, power imbalance role play, role play, angst, comforting, sad boy Billy Washington, the economy, begging, cuddling (if I miss any let me know)
Billy had never been a particularly avid reader. The most heâd ever voluntarily read probably being the required reading for secondary school English. You on the other hand, even before youâd stumbled across the smut section on the internet, had always been a common bookworm.
When your friend Lya first began to lend you books from her so called private collection though, now thatâs when you became a woman possessed. Soon, most of what you were reading involved some sort of dark romance filtered in. Whether that was mafia, pirate, or just a simple brotherâs best friend romance. You read it all with an expressionless face.
Yet when youâd begun to date Billy, you must confess to the amusement of Lya, who youâd been borrowing books from for all these years, that you hadnât been borrowing and reading as many of those sort of books as you used too. Since now, you had a real life romance novel in front of your very eyes to carry out. It wasnât exactly the dream romance kids pictured after watching a Disney movie, but what sort of relationships were these days?
The last few days, you and Billy had been unable to have sex due to a sudden difference in work times. Well, your work times and Billyâs interviews. Still, whilst you were used to this happening at some random times, your pussy had taken a sudden hit with the recent dry streak. Now, you were beginning to crave one of those novels of yours in your hands again. Desperate for a new sort of fiction thatâd get brain stimulated and your cunt working.
So you called the best smut dealer you knew.
âHey bestie!â You grinned, picking at your nail while your other hand was busy holding the phone. âI need a favourâŠâ Sheâd laughed when youâd asked her for a new recommendation, yet to your relief, you and her had managed to agree to a meet up the next day to, exchange the goods.
The morning you were supposed to leave, you remember kissing Billy goodbye as your adorable half asleep boyfriend was still laying in bed all cosy and pretty. âWhere are you going?â Heâd grumbled, so cute with a small tired pout on his face that it almost made you want to strip back down to nothing and pounce on him there and then. The lack of sex it seemed was really getting to you right now.
âVisiting one of my friends for a morning drink. Nothing much baby. Remember though youâve got that interview at 3, so donât forget!â You smiled, giving him another deep kiss before you go that left Billyâs cheeks flushed from bashfulness. Heâs so effortlessly fucking sexy it was utterly unrealâŠ
When you got to the cafe youâd planned to meet Lya at, she eagerly waved at you from a discreet corner of the room. She may be honest as hell about what she reads, but she sure as hell knows how to act like a fucking dealer about it.
âHello darling!â You smile, moving so you could give her a quick hug before sitting opposite her. âHowâve you been?â
âIâve been alright thanks babes! Stocking up on my little novel collection, which reminds me!â She gives you a mischievous smile, and from her bag produced a book with quite a different cover than what you thought itâd be. As she places in front of you what looks to be a copy of great expectations.
âThink youâve mixed up the books Lya!â You laugh, giggling in amusement when you see her look at you with such disappointment.
âCourse I havenât idiot!â She sighs, moving to grab the book and remove the book cover, before showing you the back of it. Where much to your surprise, you find the blurb for a very different book. Called âUnbuttoning the CEOâ. âI read it last week and thought itâd be perfect for you!â
You laugh at the title and place the secret cover back on, before placing it in your bag. You donât bring the book up again the rest of the catch up convo, but at the end when the two of you have eaten your cakes, drunk your coffees and were saying your goodbyes, you made sure to let Lya know what you thought of the book when you read it.
When you get back home, you head to the bedroom first to see if Billyâs back or not. The bed you can see is unmade and ruffled, yet when you feel it you can tell itâs cold to the touch, telling you Billy left a while a go. You head to the living room and sit on the sofa with a small sigh, praying Billy didnât decide to head to the pub before a job interview.
Youâre still for a couple minutes trying to think of what to do to occupy your time while you wait for Billy, and your eyes canât help but be drawn to your bag, where the book practically taunts you from inside it. Before you even know it, youâre curled up on the sofa with the book in your hand and your lip between your teeth.
Words blur as you read sentence after sentence, but your eyes certainly eagerly tune in when you get to the actual sex part, which wasnât even very far in to be honest.
The ceo takes the assistant on his desk, and you canât help but clench your legs together when you read about how later on the assistant helps the CEO to âdestressâ. You take a small break to make yourself a quick drink, and canât help but find your mind drifting to the idea of you and Billy in those scenes, playing those characters. You canât help but forget about even making any sort of drink as you imagine exactly how you could help Billy destress from the recent unfair influx of job rejections.
You eagerly get back to reading though, and by the time Billy comes back home around 5, stinking slightly of cheap lager, youâve already finished the book twice and reread your favourite scenes about three times over.
âHey baby!â You smile, making note on how Billy nuzzles his body into yours as much as he can as soon as he gets close enough. Your pretty little teddy bear⊠âHowâd it go?â
âSaid I werenât what they were looking forâŠâ He murmurs into the length of your neck, as you kiss the top of his head softly. âAnother fucking failure to add to the listâŠâ
âDonât say that!â You firmly say, placing both your hands on the side of his face to force his eyes to meet yours. You hate the way he looks so broken in that moment. So beaten by the world that all you want to do in that moment is wrap your arms around him and keep him safe from everything and everyone. The assholes who hurt him hurt him good and deep, and if you could, youâd beat them to death yourself. Maybe even with your porn book thatâd be a right sight you must admit⊠âYou are fucking amazing! Youâre my favourite person in the whole world and I will not have you bring yourself down! Do you understand me Billy Washington?â
He gulps, and for a second you swear you can see tears build up in his eyes before theyâre quickly blinked away.
âI-I underhand darling. Thank you, for being there for me. For everything.â He says, before bringing you in for a hug. Practically crushing you with how hard his arms lock around your waist and his head stays tucked in the skin of your neck.
The two of you stay there for what feels like hours. Holding each other while the time goes by. The only reason the two of you even break away from each other is because your phone rings so loudly all of a sudden and shocks the two of you into remembering the situation at hand. You quickly move to switch your phone on silent, and yet your eyes somehow manage to drift to the book peeking out from behind a sofa cushion, and an idea makes it way through your mind.
âHey BillyâŠâ You begin, smirking when you see Billyâs usual shy persona breaking through his shell once more when he sees that smile of yours. âI wanna try something tonightâŠâ
âWhat is it?â He asks, raising a brow and stepping back slightly when he sees the grin on your face.
âJust something I read recently. Wanna see how youâll like itâŠâ You purr, placing your hands on his shoulders and dragging him to the edge of the sofa, before pushing him slightly so he falls backwards with a small gasp. His eyes open wide as they stare at you with such awe and admiration that you canât help but find yourself blushing slightly.
You slowly lower yourself between Billyâs legs, which seem to open as wide as they can automatically, and with innocent fluttering eyes, lay your head on the side on his leg.
âCan I please suck your cock sir?â You beg, a pout on your lips to mimic pure desperation as Billy practically seems to have a heart attack above you. He appears breathless as you spring this sudden fantasy upon him, and yet by the way you can see and feel his trousers move and strain with his quickly swelling cock, you can tell with certainty that he definitely seems to be enjoying this.
âYesâŠâ He eventually murmurs with a heavy breath. âYou can suck my cockâŠ.â
âThank you sir, I promise I wonât let you down!â You smile, moving your hands to undo his belt and shimmy down his trousers and his underwear. When Billy is left sitting naked before you, as heâd claimed to feel silly if he was sitting in just his shirt, you canât even stop yourself from admiring your boyfriends erect cock that stands proudly before your face.
âSuch a pretty cock sirâŠâ You murmur, before opening your mouth and taking it in your mouth as far as you can before your nose hits the small soft patch of hair lying at the base of Billyâs cock.
You can hear him keen and whine above you, and youâre very sad you canât see the way his eyes no doubt roll to the back of his head. You slowly move your head back and forth, keeping a steady pace that leaves Billy practically shaking and whining above you.
âPleaseâŠ.â You hear him beg. A noise you love more than anything, and yet at this moment itâs not what you want. You want him to feel in control for once. To know how much you worship him and adore him. To know that he has the ability to make you become so needy and desperate for him that youâll do anything to please him. That is, with the right words of course.
âPlease darling!â He continues, his whimpering so delightful to your ears that you almost throw your plan out the window so you could give him as many earth shattering orgasms as he deserves. But patience is a virtue, so you continue to suck at Billyâs cock in a leisurely pace. Drawing all sorts of noises from him that leaves your own lower half aching for a release.
âTake control of me BillyâŠâ You eventually say, admittedly growing tired of the lack of communication between the both of you. âTake hold of me and do whatever you want to me sirâŠâ
It seems your words finally made it into his pretty little head. Since as soon as you try and go back to putting your mouth on him after saying those words to him, you feel a strong hand wrap itself between the strands of your hair, atopping you from getting anymore closer to his cock than what you already are. It makes your pussy admittedly wetter as youâre now effectively eye level with Billyâs weeping member, and yet am unable to touch it at all. Forced to stare at it while it weeps a single drop his precum and watch while it trails down his erection. Itâs absolute fucking torture.
âPlease sir!â You find yourself begging, an actual pout on your lips as desperation claws up your whole body. âI wanna make you feel good sir! Wanna warm your cock in my mouth and feel your cum trickling down my throat!â
You can feel the grip his hands have on your hair tighten, and before you know it, Billyâs cock is hitting the back of your throat and your eyes are rolling to the back of your head as your used like a pathetic fuck toy. You let your body go limp as you allow Billy to use you however he decides, yet he doesnât seem to exactly have that part figured out yet, as he focuses on moaning and groaning about you like a porn star while he uses you to his current hearts content.
For a while, you almost find yourself unable to breathe. Gasping for air whenever the opportunity appeared. Yet still, you persist in your willingness, eager to see the usually so submissive man in front of you break.
âFuck Iâm gonna cum!â He groans, moaning as he further tightens his grip on you and forces you to work harder and faster on his cock. You moan wantonly and work your tongue harder as you feel his tip become drenched in a delicious mixture of both your spit and his precum, and feel his entire length throb under the weight of your efforts. Itâs actually quite flattering really, seeing how fast heâs about to cum from your suggestions.
âFuuuuuuck please swallow baby please please please!â He whines, that inner submissive of his still lingering as he holds your head down firmly on his cock while you feel his cum shoot down to the back of your throat, and practically choke you with how much you feel quickly filling your mouth. You cough slightly as you try and obey Billy by swallowing what you can, yet you canât help but have a few drops of his essence flow down your cheek as you struggle swallowing the first few drops.
âHere you go babyâŠâ Billy murmurs, using his fingers to pick up the stray dribbles and put them in front of your lips. Admittedly you feel quite bashful as you avoid his eyes while sucking the remaining taste of him off his fingers, but as soon as you finish, those same now spit covered fingers rest under your chin and force your head up so your eyes can meet.
A silent gasp releases under your breath as you see an uncharacteristic carefree yet somehow cocky smile on Billyâs face. That submissive man you saw not even five minutes ago gone as this new, changed man sits before you. Like some sort of strange sexual butterfly.
âYou were a good girl for me.â He simply says, allowing you to bask in the feeling of his dominance that makes your legs weak at the knees. âAnd good girls if Iâm right, get rewarded. You taught me that pretty girl. So please, get naked, and get on the bed for me arse up, so I can reward you for being so good for me.â
Fuck youâve made a monster. A sexy one yes, but still a sexually dominant monster.
You do as Billy says to a T. Stripping yourself quickly so that your clothes are all over the bedroom floor, and placing your body on the bed in Billyâs desired position. You wait with bated breath for what feels like hours while your skin erupts in a multitude of goosebumps, and you swear you nearly jump out of your skin when you feel Billyâs warm skin suddenly against yours. You feel his half hard cock rubbing almost pitifully against your arse, and you realise with a very sick thrill that you can actually feel him getting harder the more your juices seem to coat him.
It seems though you were so caught up in your thoughts, that you miss the sounds of Billyâs own clumsy movements of stripping.
âSo prettyâŠâ He groans. A beautiful sound that leaves you wanting more more and more. How greedy of you⊠âYou want to be fucked by me donât you? By your boss?â
âYes sir!â You whine, your head going dull as you stay focused only Billyâs body and nothing else. On the way he makes you feel so effortlessly, and without meaning. âWant you to make me yours! Want me to make sure everyone knows I only belong to you!â
You can hear Billy deeply grunt behind you, and with a gasp you donât even at first realise belong to you, you feel Billy thrust his cock deep inside you. An intense feeling of fullness hitting you as you close your eyes and grip your hands desperately at the sheets in an attempt to ground yourself.
He gratefully allows you to get used to the sudden intrusion, but before you know it, Billy is quickly thrusting himself quickly in and out of you while you moan and keen for more beneath him. Your eyes screwing shut as your lower belly slowly tightens harder and harder.
âSo good!â He groans, unexpectedly yet cautiously smacking your backside with his palm that causes an absolute pathetic sound to leave your lips. âMy sweet little slut. All mine to fuck!â
An abundance of yeses comes quickly and brainlessly as you answer Billyâs statement with a high pitched moan. All you want right now is to cum. And by the way you can feel your cunt clenching and fluttering hard around Billyâs cock, you can guess it wonât be long before you do.
âFuck sir I wanna cum please let me cum for you sir Iâve been so good!â You whine, your mouth hanging open in a silent scream as Billy somehow manages to move himself faster against you. The sound of his skin smacking at such a fast pace against your own to your ears sounding like an erotic symphony.
âYes⊠you have been goodâŠâ Billy groans. His voice so strained itâs as if heâs struggling with all his strength to say them. âSo youâll continue to be good⊠by taking my fucking cum in your perfect cunt!â
You take that as your queue, and with a loud unwavering yell, you cum hard around Billyâs cock. Coaxing forth his own orgasm as he clutches hard at your skin and pushes himself as deep as he can to you. Moaning as you focus on the feeling of his hot cum filling you.
You can also feel his pubic hair stimulating your swollen clit, which leaves you silently gasping against the mattress and your aching pussy clenching against Billyâs softening cock.
The two of you stay where you are as you allow each other to breathe and calm down, yet itâs not long before the two of you are cuddling under the bed covers, with Billyâs cock still inside you.
âDid you like that baby?â You canât help but murmur. Anxious on whether Billy was happy over you pushing him out of his usual comfort zone.
âIt was differentâŠâ He summarises. You cannot see his face to make any assumptions. Given that your man has gone back to his roots by putting his head in the curve of your neck. âBut I liked it. I liked it a lot.â
You may not be able to see it, but even so, your ego swells massively when you realise you can feel Billyâs bashful smile against your skin. It almost makes you want to have your wicked way with him again. That is though, before you realise with a warm feeling chest that Billy has steadily fallen asleep against you. With his softened cock still inside you, and your arms wrapped firmly around his body ensuring his safety.
âSleep babyâŠâ You murmur, kissing the top of his head with a smile. âYou were such a good boy for me baby⊠weâll see about rewarding you laterâŠ.â
You may have imagined it, but you swear you can feel Billy smile against your skin. Yet you push the thought away and instead choose to close your eyes, and allow your own exhaustion to overcome you. You and Billyâs breaths and hearts synching as you hold each other with as much love as a sleeping person could handle.

Handsome Little Bookworm (BuckTommy) - one-shot
Summary: In which Buck discovers how avid of a reader Tommy is.
BuckTommy Positivity Week Day 4: hobbies and dates

Buck realized fairly quickly that his boyfriend was a romantic. He didnât seem to think that he deserved romance or that anyone would be willing to go to all that trouble for him, but he certainly loved to watch romcoms and he read more romance books than anyone that Buck had ever met. The first time he was invited over to Tommyâs house heâd zeroed in on the built in bookshelves that held both books and DVDs. Heâd been interested right away, especially because of the insight that it might give him to Tommy.Â
âThis is quite the collection,â Buck had muttered as he perused the movies. âChimney did say you were a big movie guy.âÂ
âWhen you grew up the way I did, escapism is all you really have, Evan.âÂ
Buck nodded. âI went with the route that kept me out of the house until I broke something. Usually my bones.â
âEvan,â Tommy said, exasperated. Â
âI donât do that anymore.âÂ
When he got to the book section of the bookshelf, Buck pulled out a dark blue book with white writing that read Boyfriend Material.Â
âIs this a guide? Do I make the cut?â Buck asked.Â
Tommy plucked the book from his hands and returned it to its spot. It brought him close enough that Buck could smell his cologne. It was earthy and warm and Buck wanted nothing more than to press himself up against him and maybe turn around and kiss him silly.Â
âYou are definitely boyfriend material,â Tommy responded and he took a step away from Buck.Â
Buck knew he was blushing and thinking about how it hadnât even a week since they had defined what they were doing. After not having had a boyfriend his whole life, it felt amazing to actually have one. Some might say it sounded a little juvenile, but Buck loved it. He loved that Tommy was his boyfriend.Â
Buck ran his fingers over the spines of a few more books and slowly came to the conclusion that half the books Tommy owned were romance novels. It was a little unexpected, and Buck didnât know what he had expected to find on Tommyâs shelves because Tommy had never struck him as someone that spent their time reading non-fiction or the thrillers that had become popular due to all the true crime podcasts. Maybe he just hadnât expected Tommy to be very invested in reading. Romance books made sense, though. So did the mix of sci-fi/fantasy.Â
âSo which of these is your favorite?â Buck asked.Â
âI donât think I have a favorite,â Tommy admitted.Â
Buck glared at him. âWhich one have you read more than once?âÂ
âNot that many.âÂ
Buck perused the books himself, looking for one that might be a little more worn than the others. It was difficult entirely because Tommy seemed to take meticulous care of his books. But, of course he did. He had an entire section made up of classics whose titles Buck recognized from reading lists at school. Going up a few shelves, two books whose pages faced out caught his attention. Buck could understand putting the books that way on the shelf because the edges of the pages were pretty. He grabbed them both out.Â
The books were by the same author, TJ Klune. The covers were cartoonish in a way. One featured a house at the end of a cliff and the other a house in the middle of a forest that looked entirely like it was ready to collapse. He looked at the back cover of one and then the other.Â
âThese sound interesting,â he offered.Â
âTheyâre very good. Your favorite?âÂ
âNope.â
Buck hummed and put them back. He grabbed another book at random. Less. The cover featured a suited up guy falling backwards.Â
Next he looked at a very thick white book with some kind of ship on the cover. And then The Hunger Games which Buck had actually read. A Sherlock Holmes story collection and a few books by Andy Weir. He recognized The Martian because heâd seen Hen reading it a few years back.Â
âHave you read everything on here?âÂ
âMost of them,â Tommy said.Â
âHmm, I think I like knowing my boyfriend is well read,â Buck said as he put Good Omens back in its place.Â
Tommy snorted. âIf you count romance and speculative fiction well read.âÂ
âYou read more than me.âÂ
âAnd I bet if we found a book in a topic you found interesting, youâd be in a deep dive,â Tommy said.Â
Buck didnât deny it. He did smirk at Tommy and pull him into a kiss. âHow about we keep you my handsome little bookworm.âÂ
The rest of the tour of Tommyâs house resulted in Buck finding even more books. He hadnât been looking, it was just that Tommy had books literally everywhere. He had another bookshelf in his bedroom and a small pile on his bedside table. He had cooking books in the kitchen, even. It was cute and Buck had no idea when Tommy made time for reading, but he did. He knew that he took a book to work with him for the downtime in between calls, but with everything else Tommy did, it was still shocking how many books he got through.Â
In the months that followed, everytime he stayed the night, he found that Tommy had already finished the book heâd previously had on his bedside table and that it had been replaced with something entirely new. He liked looking at the current book and asking Tommy to tell him about it.Â
As far as hobbies went, reading was not one that Buck had expected to find hot. Not like Muay Thai which involved tight shorts and a very sweaty and delicious looking Tommy, or even Tommy tinkering away at a car wearing a backwards cap and a tight tanktop that would invariably get covered in oil or grease stains. Buck just hadnât known what it would do to him to know that Tommy wore reading glasses.Â
Heâd kissed him about it and begged him to keep the glasses on during sex that night. He had absolutely no regrets about it.Â
Buck was also a little amazed by how much of Tommyâs mail consisted of books getting delivered to him. Or how whenever they went anywhere that had a local bookstore they had to make time to go inside and peruse the wares. Tommy always bought at least one book.Â
Some of the best nights were the quiet nights where Buck had his headphones on and he watched a documentary or dived into his research and next to him, glasses perched on his nose and a book open in his hands was Tommy. Buck could picture them doing that for years.Â
He could see it so well, the two of them a bit older sharing in each otherâs space but doing their own thing. Occasionally sharing a smile or a kiss maybe with rings on each otherâs fingers to top it all off. Â

Yandere ! Gojo Satoru x Female ! Reader
Part 21 | a hint of normalcy
Summary | And I'd choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I'd find you and I'd choose you.
Infinity Masterlist
âYou stink.â
Frowning at those words, you glared at Itadoriâs cheek who immediately slapped at Sukunaâs mouth, âsorry sensei! Heâs been pissy ever since he saw Gojo this morning.â
âI donât stink Sukuna.â
âYou do,â a mouth appeared on Itadoriâs palm, âyou stink of that Gojo filth.â
She rolled her eyes and went to ignore him, but Sukuna called out to you again.
âHave you found the answer? From what you asked before.â
She looked to him as Itadori tilted his head to the side, âanswer to whatâŠ? Oh! From when you both talked?â
âYeah, something like that ItadoriâŠ, and no Sukuna. I honestly havenât been thinking of it much.â
Sukuna laughed at this, âseems that Gojo is blocking your senses then, but no matter, youâll find out the truth soon enough.â
She pressed her lips together as Sukunaâs mouth disappeared.
âSensei?â
âItâs nothing Itadori, letâs get to class.â
âAlright!â
The walk to class was silent on y/nâs end, but thankfully Itadori filled up the silence by talking about the latest movies he plans to go see. Though, it was hard for her to focus as she kept glancing at his cheek, her eyes holding worry within them, and it didnât help how Sukuna was staring back at her, challenging slightly to remember her past lives.
Were her past lives really that important?
âThereâs my beautiful girl!â
Her eyes widened slightly when she was engulfed in a bone crushing hug the moment she walked into the classroom right after Itadori. Gojo was more than happy to show off his affection for her the moment she appeared which was something that caught her off guard. For some odd reason, she thought he would want to keep their relationship private. Not like it mattered, she didnât care if everyone knew she was dating him.
âHUUUUUUH?! WHATâS GOING ON,â Nobara yelled.
To her exclamation, Gojo merely grinned and hugged you tighter, âdear students of mine⊠I and y/n here are officially dating!â
âBUT HOW?! SHE IS LITERALLY WAY OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE!!â
Gojo gasped, âam not! Weâre perfect for each other!â
Fushiguro rolled his eyes, âif you ask me, y/n could do a whole lot better.â
âOhhhh, so thatâs why Sukuna said l/n sensei smelled like Gojo sensei,â Itadori said, connecting the dots.
And just like that, y/n was left to her thoughts as Gojo and the three first years got into an argument about how Gojo didnât deserve her. Honestly, these four were going to tire you out someday.

The Little Bookworm (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Summary: You and Bob can't get enough of your kids being obsessed with books
It was the gloomiest of fall days with the skies over Montana having gone darker than expected, almost as if night were setting in at lunchtime.
Auggie had been perched on the little bay window seat in the living room, the rain battering the diamond paned windows while the woodstove in the living room made the house warm and cozy. Bob didn't particularly like having the tv on all day, but The Nightmare Before Christmas seemed like the perfect background noise on a day like this and with Halloween fast approaching, it made it even better.
Bob smiled a little seeing his little mini-me completely engrossed in one of the books you had gotten him. Auggie had always loved pulling books from the shelf, no matter how big or how small they were and loved making up his own stories to tell you, Bob and the rest of the family.
"Auggie, come and eat," Bob called from the kitchen.
Auggie giggled and shut his book, running right for the kitchen and seating himself into his chair. Bob had definitely outdone himself this time, grilled cheese with bacon, a side of kettle cooked potato chips and a kosher dill pickle on the side.
"Whatcha reading buddy?" Bob asked him.
"Um.....I dunno," Auggie chirped with a big grin on his face before taking a bite out of his sandwich.
"You don't know?!" Bob questioned, pretending to be shocked.
"It's about these three guys and a bad guy who doesn't like them so they've gotta stop him," Auggie explained.
The more Auggie chattered, the more Bob couldn't control the broad smile on his face. The Three Musketeers had been one of his favorites growing up, one that his father had grown up reading as well. Now that Auggie was reading it, he was proud beyond words that his love of the book had been passed down to his son.
As soon as lunch was done, Bob took a look at Auggie's bookshelf and made a list of other books that he didn't have, noting that they would most likely be his Christmas gift that year. He made his way upstairs while Auggie scooted back to his little corner, hoping you were still up in your shared bedroom and sure enough, you were.
"Still working away Mrs. Floyd?" he asked, scooting in next to you.
"All I can do Bob," you told him.
You had been needle-felting all day as a movie played out on the tv that was mounted on the wall. Bob felt awful that you were on strict bedrest, but after the last ultrasound appointment, you both knew it was what you and your baby girl needed. Luckily Reagan and her husband, Elijah, lived close by in case anything came up, but it still made Bob nervous whenever you got up in the middle of the night to pee.
Yet he was in awe at the Halloween decorations you had made for Auggie's kindergarten class, little pumpkins that looked like fairy houses, witches in their pointed little hats and little brooms in their hands, fuzzy little bats with googly eyes and silly looking little spiders, black cats with slinky little tails, ghosts with their mouths wide open and even two little figures that turned out to be Jack and Sally and even a little Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
"Did you do all this while I was downstairs?" Bob asked, picking up the soft, fuzzy little figures.
"Yep," you answered proudly. "Kay told me that while the kids were outside playing in the yard, Auggie, Gabe, Nicky and Pete were all collecting sticks and wanted to bring them home. I figured I could use them to make a little Halloween tree."
Bob remembered having been a kid at that type of school and having had Kay's mother for his kindergarten teacher. They were wonderful days, learning how to make fresh bread and soup for lunch, playing with his friends, listening to stories and plenty of playing outside. Yet they had been tough too. Bob remembered some days when his father had gotten a deployment notice. He would hide out in a corner of the classroom and cry until Kay's mother had to gently coax him out. Bob had made damn sure that Auggie, Patrick and any other children you might have, would never have to go through that when they started school. But luckily, Bob and the rest of the Daggers had been fully and honorably discharged by the time Patrick had been born.
"You've gotta teach me how to do this because I'm curious now," Bob chuckled.
"Believe me I will," you told him. "I need a partner so I can keep from getting bored."
Up the stairs came those familiar little feet you heard running through the house day after day on the weekends. "Daddy, Daddy," Auggie chirped again. "Can you read to me?"
"C'mere buddy," Bob said, lifting him up into the bed with his book and putting him between you both.
You rode out the rest of the rainy afternoon, reading The Three Musketeers and the adventures they had lived. Auggie was practically jumping with excitement whenever Bob read the swordfight scenes, the both of you happy and proud that he was your little bookworm.

I'm just a librarian âż
Steven Grant/Marc Spector x Fem!Reader
Summary: You work in a library in the middle of London, you get paid well and you love your little reading space surrounded by books that rise to the highest ceiling. But one day your normality will be turned upside down when a guy comes looking for some books on Egyptian history.
A/N: Ok first of all I must say that this idea arose from a little dream I had (and I also wanted to use the image from the movie The Mummy, I mean, just look at her, she is beautiful, she looks like Belle) second, I don't know if this will have more parts the truth is I'm not good at making long stories because then I leave them unfinished or I run out of ideas so, yes, I'm building this as I go along, sorry.
Part 2
And here I am once again, sitting behind the counter where you could see an old green lamp, a couple of books stacked one on top of the other, a typewriter and a little badge where you could read my name. With my legs crossed I moved my airborne foot rhythmically back and forth following a silent melody while my face rested lazily on my hand. My view was always directed towards the large windows that were near the line where the roof began. They were in the shape of a half circle and had a nice drawing similar to a stained glass window through which the sunlight passed in a warm way.
I loved being around libraries just for the sake of being a bookworm. I could spend hours reading old books sitting in a comfortable chair enjoying the silence without realizing it. But it was kind of boring to sit and wait for people to arrive so that you could help them with whatever they needed. I had already finished arranging the books with the help of the ladder, I loved doing it, it was fun to slide from one side to the other, it was almost like skating.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize someone had entered the library until they were in front of me so I gave a little jump in my seat.
"Oh so sorry! did I scare you? It wasn't my intention"
The person who addressed me was a very polite and kind middle-aged man, he had an innocent look in those pretty dark eyes he had. He was wearing a jean jacket and underneath was a white shirt, he was also wearing khaki pants and had a brown shoulder strap on one side.
"Don't worry, It's okay, I was just thinking, can I help you with something?"
I could not stop seeing his eyes, his look gave off a peculiar innocence glow, I could sense a genuinely beautiful aura like that of a child
"Well, yes. I was looking for books on Egyptian history, you know, gods and pharaohs, myths, pyramids, etc."
Every time he spoke his face would light up with enthusiasm, it was admirable to see
"Sure, we have several. Follow me please"- I said while my smile deepened
I led him through the aisles looking for the "Ancient Egypt" section by the gigantic shelves. The man meekly followed me like a lap dog without taking his eyes off me as he clung to his backpack. When we had reached the section, I took out 4 books, stacking them one on top of the other and numbering them as I handed them over to him.
" "History of Egypt", "Gods and mythologies", "Encyclopedia of the pyramids" and "The 10 most famous figures of ancient Egypt" And remember to return everything within 15 days "
I piled the books in the arms of that man who tried with effort to hold them since they were quite large and hardcover while I raised a finger and recited the prayer from memory. Even though the books were about to fall out of his hands, the man looked from the books to me with a beaming smile.
"Of course, yes, miss, I will do so. Thank you very much for your help"
I smiled generously at the man's good manners and walked him to my desk to finish the paperwork. I sat as the middle-aged man patiently watched me with his books in his arms like a child waiting for his Christmas present.
"Ok, I will give you a paper with the exact date where you must return the books along with our address, I would only need to know your name to write it down please"- I looked at him expectantly
"Steven Grant, Steven with a V"
I couldn't help but laugh at the clarification as if I didn't know how to write his name
"I clarify it just in case. A lot of people always misspell it, sometimes they call me Stephen. But surely you wrote it well, you seem to have nice handwriting hehe"
Steven giggled nervously as I smirked in amusement. What a singular man that Steven was
"No problem, what a nice name you have"- I smiled warmly
Steven got more nervous and his face begins to take on a cute reddish color as he stuttered and mumbled a thank you.
"By the way, my name is Y/n"
I told him, pointing with a fingernail to my badge that was resting on the desk. He looked at it for a while and smiled
"Now I won't forget"
And with one free hand he gave me a childish wave as he uttered a sweet "Laters gators" and headed for the exit. With one elbow on the table and my hand resting on my cheek, I watched him until he disappeared through the door.
"Steven.."
I pronounced his name slowly delighting myself with the syllables, it was sweet as honey and resonant as a bell. I was wondering if I would see him around here more often. I sighed with a lopsided smile and went back to staring at the stained glass windows waiting for someone else to come and help them.
The days passed and I didn't hear from Steven, he hadn't returned the books within the agreed period and I was beginning to worry. He supposed that this man was a little distracted or had forgotten or was busy with something important, anyway it was very common for people not to return the books on time and to be a little late. My head was full of thoughts hoping nothing bad happened to Steven and hoping to see him again when someone stormed through the library entrance.
"I'm really sorry!! I got there as fast as I could, apparently I fell asleep and woke up in a place full of sand. I have a sleep disorder, I'm sorry"
Steven was talking fast, spitting out the words like a machine gun, he looked agitated and his hair was messy. And on his face you could see the nervousness and concern. I tried to reassure him
"Steven, Steven calm down, it's okay. I get it, you don't have to apologize."
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it hard trying to provide warmth and protection. Steven giggled nervously and his cheeks turned pink, it was adorable.
"Oh by the way, here are the books"
Steven took out of his bag the books in perfect condition that I had given him. At least he was a man of his word
"Thank you very much Steven, do you want any other books?"
"Well actually yes, if it's not a bother, wouldn't you have one that talks about the moon god Khonsu?"-he said something nervous
I laughed in amusement
"Of course! We have many books on Egyptian gods, take the ones you want"-I said tenderly
Steven for some reason gave me a strange feeling, a maternal need to protect him, he looked so helpless at times. I can't even imagine how chaotic his life must be
"You know something? Why don't I buy you a coffee? I'll give you the new books and then we can hang out and chat, I have a break in 15 minutes."
Apparently Steven didn't expect that so he got even more red.
"I-Is it some kind of date?"
"If you want to see it that way, yes"
Steven smiled like a kid in a toy store and followed me back to the bookshelves. After giving him everything he needed, he waited for me at the entrance of the library like a true gentleman. I left my position in charge of my partner Selma who answered me with a grunt and left with Steven towards the nearest cafeteria.

We sat at a table close to the street. The cafeteria was decorated with flowers and vines, it was my favorite, it made it look Parisian. We both ordered a simple latte and to eat I ordered a croissant with chocolate and he asked for a kind of vegan burrito, then he explained to me that he doesn't eat anything that comes from animals.
"Well Steven tell me something about yourself, do you have a job?"
"Yes, I'm working in a gift shop at the British Museum. But I would really love to be the one who makes the guides"
"Really? Amazing! who'd say? You are a museum and history enthusiast and I am a bookworm willing to provide you with all the information you want."
We both laughed happily forgetting what was happening around us. Steven's laugh was like sweet nectar to my ears that made all my worries disappear. Except for one that was still on my mind
"Wait a second, how come you woke up in a place full of sand? Where exactly?"
"I have no idea, I wish I knew. But it's not the first time it's happened to me, one day I woke up on top of Everest"
Steven started laughing downplaying it and I laughed too but with less enthusiasm. I was worried about him.
"Well I think I should go back to my work, thanks for everything I really needed to talk to someone and distract myself"
I looked at Steven tenderly, thinking that I was probably the only person he could talk to broke my heart.
"Anytime Steven. Anyway, I also have to go back to work, the time flies by when you talk"
I left a tip on the table and was about to go to the library when Steven stopped me with a question.
"Would you like to visit me one day at the museum? It's that I always visit you...-"
"I'd love to"
We said goodbye with a smile as if we were lifelong friends and each one went their own way to continue with their work on that beautiful afternoon in London.

âââââââââ âââŠââââŠââ âââââââââ
âIâm home.â Maya called out cheerily as she closed the down behind her. She took off her coat and kicked off her boots before padding into the kitchen.Â
Instantly she could smell Carinaâs cooking. The scent of gentle spices and fresh vegetables was delightful and she stopped in the doorframe to watch as she wife swayed her hips in place as she cut up a tomato.Â
Maya couldnât help but come up behind her wife, her arms wrapping around her core,âŻâSomething smells amazing.âÂ
âThanks bambina.â Carina smiled back, her head leaning back so she could kiss Mayaâs cheek, âI got home a little early so I thought Iâd cook for us.âÂ
Maya nuzzled into Carina's neck, enjoying the warmth of her wife's skin and the comforting rhythm of her breath. "You spoil me," She murmured, kissing Carina's cheek before letting her go. "What are we having?"Â
"Just something simple," Carina replied with a soft smile, her accent thickening just slightly as she spoke, a sign that Maya had learned to associate with her being tired or particularly relaxed. "Pasta with a light tomato and basil sauce, and some fresh bread."Â
The blonde couldnât help but smile. There was nothing more she loved than coming home from a long day at work to her wifeâs amazing cooking. Any troubles from the day seemed to wash anyway when the whole shared a way, a way to forget about the dayâs events and just relax knowing she was safe.Â
âThats sounds delicious, Iâll get the table set for us.â Maya offered sweetly, kissing Carinaâs cheek one last time before she went about grabbing plates and silverware to make up the table.Â
As they sat down for dinner, Carina flashed Maya a warm smile, but there was a slight twinge of something in her expression that Maya couldnât quite place. The food was perfect, as alwaysâthe pasta cooked just right, the sauce bursting with flavour.Â
Maya chatted about her day, making sure to fill her wife in on every detail of how her team were dealing with the several newbies that had just joined 19. Carina nodded along throughout, laughing softly at the right moments. But the firefighter couldnât help but notice how Carina's laughter sounded just a bit more subdued than usual, and how her responses seemed a little short, as if she was distracted. But Carina didnât seem to be acting any different otherwise so she simply put it down to being tired.Â
After theyâd finished dinner, Maya insisted on doing the dishes. "You cooked, so it's only fair," She said, trying to shoo Carina away from the sink by flapping a tea towel in her general direction.Â
Carina laughed as she wiped her hands on a towel, a small smile tugging at her lips as she relented, "Alright, bambina, you win." She walked over to the living room, glancing back once at Maya, who was humming softly to herself as she scrubbed the dishes.Â
Settling down in the living room, Carina switched on the TV and began surfing through the movie channels. She wasnât really in mood for anything heavy and she knew Maya was probably too tired from her day to focus on much so she settled on an animation, something light to fill the silence.Â
With the movie read to go, she set the remote on the coffee table and lit the candle beside it. Next she took a few steps away and scanned over the wooden shelves as she looked for a book to entertain herself with. There was so many that she hadnât read yet. When sheâd moved back in, Maya had insisted on buying an unhealthy amount of new ones for her, just so sheâd have a form of escape if she ever desired it. And well, Carina was a bookworm at heart so she didnât complain, in the end she picked out something by one of her favourite authors, tucked it under her arm and nestled into the corner of the sofa.Â
Before she began, she made sure to slip on the pair of reading glasses she kept in the drawer of the coffee table - reading in the dim light tended to strain her eyes. Before she knew it, Maya had finished up in the kitchen, sitting down at the other end of the sofa, tucking her feet up to her knees.Â
âYou picked something for us?â She bit back a giddy smile at seeing Carina in her glasses, âYou really do suit those yâknow. We should get a pair for-âÂ
âMaya Bishop!â Carina laughed, interrupting her as slapped her playfully with the side of her book, she then lowered them down at an angle and smirked, âOnly if youâre good.âÂ
The movie on the TV began playing and the intro music to Happy Feet began playing. Maya loved this movie and had watched it more times than sheâd care to admit so she easily settled down and began fixated on the screen.Â
Everything was quiet for about half an hour. That was until the brunette at the other side of the sofa sniffled quietly.Â
Maya thought nothing of it, her eyes still attached to the ongoing movie. It was only when she heard the same sound again, a little deeper this time that she curiously looked over just in time to see Carinaâs grip on her book loosen as she fans her sweater-covered hand in front of her face in an attempt to stave off the itch.âŻÂ
It didnât seem to work however as moments later she quickly pressed it to her face as she muffled a damp sneeze into it, the action making her reading glasses slip down the bridge of her nose a little.Â
Maya chuckled, âBless you.âÂ
Carina looked up and blushed at the realisation sheâd been witnessed, âGrazie bambina.âÂ
Maya grinned at Carina's soft blush. There was something endearing about seeing her like this, a little vulnerable and caught off guard. She shifted slightly on the couch, turning her body towards Carina, who was already reaching up to push her glasses back into place.Â
âFeeling okay? You seemed a little quiet at dinner.â Maya asked, a hint of concern threading through her voice. She kept her tone light, not wanting to overstep, but the softness in Carinaâs sniffles tugged at her heart.Â
Carina nodded, though her expression seemed more sheepish than convincing. âIâm fine, really. Just a little tickle.â She waved her hand dismissively, but the pink hue on the tip of her nose suggested otherwise.Â
Maya hummed, debating whether to push her hunch a little. Ultimately she decided to let it be, not wanting to overstep. Theyâd finally been getting back to normal with the events of last yearâs separation behind them.âŻÂ
Still, she didnât miss the opportunity to scoot across the sofa and let her head fall onto the shoulder of her wife as she leaned against her. Carina shifted slightly to accommodate Mayaâs weight against her, a small smile playing on her lips as she settled back into the cushions. Her fingers traced the edge of the book absentmindedly as her eyes returned to the words on the page.Â
At some point or another, Maya had managed to fall asleep, small little mumbles rose from her as she curled herself up to Carina. The brunette had noticed of course, and she let out a quiet, amused chuckle before planting a soft kiss to the top of her head.Â
The movie played in quietly and before long, the closing credits were scrolling down the screen before ultimately fading to black. Without the jolly backing music, the living room was almost silent. A peaceful silence, broken up by Mayaâs sleepy murmurings. It was in this quiet that Carina finally registered the dull throbbing forming at the front of her temples. It was subtle, but it was there.Â
Carina sighed softly, her hand instinctively rising to rub at her temples. The headache was faint but insistent, still she put it down to dehydration and made a note to finish a bottle of water before she headed to bed. She did usually try to drink numerous throughout the day but sheâd been on her feet all day.Â
Not only did she have 2 births but several of the mothers coming for scans ended up presenting with flu symptoms and one had to be admitted for fluids. It was the time of year for this thing though and while it was uncommon to start this early into the autumn, Carina new the hospital would soon be brimming with germs and bugs that would make her job just that little bit harder.Â
Of course she didnât mind, not that much anyway. She did sign up for this after-all, but it did make her appreciate the quieter moments more. These moments where she got to sit at home with her wife by her side and just relax. How she longed to savour this silent moment,⯠Maya sleeping peacefully, nothing could possibly ruin this mo-âÂ
Before Carina could finish her thought, something else grabbed her attention. She pressed her hand to her nose as a sudden itch crept down the bridge of her nose, trying somehow to stave it off. But it was no use.Â
âHhângxt!â She couldnât fight it, muffling the sound into the sleeve of her sweater. The sudden movement caused her book to slip from her lap and land on the floor with a soft thud. Maya stirred slightly, her brow furrowing as she shifted closer to Carina.Â
âBless you.â Maya mumbled groggily, blinking awake slowly as she sat up a little. She rubbed her eyes for a second before looking up at Carina with a hint of worry behind her gaze, âYou okay?â She asked though her voice was thick with sleep.Â
âPerfectly fine bambina, just the candle is a bit strong thatâs all.â Carina answered innocently, offering a reassuring kiss to her cheek once sheâd sat up properly, âYou have a nice nap?âÂ
Maya tried to stretch but gave up halfway through when yawned widely instead, âI donât even remember being sleepy. It just happened.â She smiled softly when she felt a hand begin to run through her hair, gently massaging her scalp in just the right ways.Â
âYouâve had a busy day, how about we get some sleep?â It didnât take a lot of encouragement to get her to agree. It didnât even take 5 minutes for the two to blow out the candle, switch off the TV and make their way to the bedroom.Â
After quickly changing into some pyjamas Maya flopped onto the bed first, her body sinking into the mattress with a satisfied groan. Carina followed shortly after, crawling into the soft sheets and she felt Maya cuddle up to her in an instant, âI think you needed that nap more than you realised.â She whispered, her hand sneaking beneath the blondeâs shirt to trace down her back.Â
Maya shrugged as she yawned once more, âMaybe, but you need to rest too, youâre not gonna do anyone any good if you overwork yourself.â She mumbled sleepily, no longer fighting off the urge to doze off.Â
She was out like a light. And before long Carina found herself being also pulled at by the lure of sleep, coaxing her into its grasp and her breathing evened out into a peaceful sleep, one which she shared with her wife as they held each other close⊠just hopefully that headache would be gone by the time she woke up.Â

Colby brock x quiet reader?
Pairing: Colby x quiet F!reader Warning: cussing, slight bullying, Colby (yes heâs a warning) mention of serial killer
Summary: You've always been a quiet person and Colby is an outgoing, loud, crazy yet adorable human being who tries to pull you out of your shell every chance he gets.
A/N: This wasnât hard to write considering iâm a quiet person as well, the only problem i had was figuring out a scenario for this, but i hope you like it!
You were sitting in your favorite spot in the library, reading the same book you've read a thousand times, it was a comfort book, and no matter how many times you read it, you never got bored of it. You were often teased by the number of books you read and how fast you read them, but they helped through lifeâs horrible way of living. You were so zoned into your book that you didn't realize that someone sat across from you until they cleared their throat. You looked up and saw a very attractive boy, you looked around then back at him âIâm sorry do you want this table?â you whispered just loud enough for him to hear you. He shook his head, tapping your book âThatâs a good bookâ You cocked your eyebrow, he looks like he doesnât read anything but comic books. âYeah, itâs my favorite. Iâm sorry I donât mean to be rude but do you need something?â He shook his head smiling once more âJust wanted to talk to a pretty girlâ You looked around confused, searching for the pretty girl in question, he chuckled which made your head snap in his direction âIâm talking about you. Whatâs your name?â This doesnât happen to you, you were always known as the âquiet bookwormâ Guys didnât look your way often and you were okay with that, your heart belongs to books, you realized you havenât answered him by the way he was staring at you âOh sorry, Iâm Y/Nâ He held his hand out waiting for you to shake it, which you gladly did âIâm Colby, nice to meet you. Iâve seen you around and I gotta say youâre the only reason I come to this library.â Your cheeks started to heat up and you felt yourself smiling âThatâs very sweet, but you donât know me.â He leaned forward looking directly into your eyes âBut I want to know you.â You blushed again, leaning back to regain the distance between you two âWhy donât we go somewhere, where we donât have to whisper to have a conversation.â His smile was gorgeous and his blue eyes sparkled against the sunlight that was peeking in through the windows, guys like this only existed in books he wasnât real there was no way. âAs much as Iâd love to do that, I have to go.â You closed your book, picking up your bag throwing it over your shoulder, he stood up as well stepping closer to you âCan I at least have your number?â You looked up at him, he wasnât going to give up and you knew that. You figured heâd text you for a bit then find something or someone else more interesting and leave you in the dust, you shrugged and handed him your phone so he could put his phone number in. He smiled wide and handed your phone back to you âIâll see you aroundâ He winked and walked out the door, looking back at you before he disappeared.
Itâs been over 2 months since you gave Colby your number and heâs been texting you nonstop, asking to hang out, what books you recommend, your favorite color, meal, tv show, movie. He wanted to know everything about you, you admit it was cute, but how long is it going to take until he gets bored? Itâs been hours since you texted Colby back but you were caught up in your book and werenât looking at your phone, just when you were getting into that paragraph you heard the chair move in front of you, you looked up and there he was, smiling and staring deep into your eyes. âHey Y/Nâ You closed your book looking up at him âAre you stalking me?â You raised an eyebrow watching his expression change from happy to see you, to nervous as hell âI- Uh- Noâ You giggled softly placing your hand on his âIâm only kidding.â You felt it, that spark that you longed to feel from something that wasnât a book, but you donât know if he felt it, I mean come on thereâs no way he felt it, youâre overthinking this, you two werenât even friends honestly. You pulled your hand back when you saw a dark haired girl walk up to you guys âHey Colbyâ She squeaked which caused both of you to flinch, she looked at you as if you were the most disgusting thing in the world âWhat are you doing talking to her? Sheâs a loserâ He looked confused, you sighed and stood up pushing your chair in, quietly walking out the door. You knew if you stayed it would never end, she was one of the people that used to bully you for reading so much. You heard Colby calling your name from behind you, yet you kept walking you didnât want to hear him apologize for something that wasnât his fault. âHey, Y/N wait up.â He finally caught up to you, not like you were moving very fast in a way you kind of wanted him to catch up, pull you into his arms and tell you, you were the one for him. But again that stuff only happens in books and movies. âIâm sorry for what happened back there.â You shook your head giving him a weak smile âItâs not your fault, happens all the time no big dealâ Colby frowned, oh how cute he looked even when frowning and it hurt that you were somewhat the cause of him frowning âListen, I was gonna get a bite to eat, do you wanna join me?â You held your book close to your chest looking up at him âAre you asking me out on a date?â He blushed hard looking down at his feet then back at you âYeah, I am. So what do you say?â You thought for moment hoping to increase the suspense, finally you nodded âYeah, Iâll goâ He threw his arms up screaming âYesâ since you finally took him up on his offer to take you out to lunch. âWhere are we going?â You asked snapping him back into reality, he held his hand out for you to grab it which you so gratefully did and followed him to his car. You were hesitant, you still barely knew him what if he was like Ted Bundy, luring you away and then killing you. He saw you were hesitant and rubbed the top of your hand âI promise Iâm not a creep, I just like you and want to get to know you betterâ You calmed down and continued following him to his car, as you reached for the door handle he playfully smacked your hand âAs long as youâre with me, you will never have to touch another door handle again.â He smiled and opened the door for you. You couldnât help but get butterflies, no one has ever done this for you before you were on cloud 9. You got in, getting comfortable in your seat before he closed the door, you watched him walk around the front of the car to the driver side as you put your seatbelt on. Is this what itâs like to have someone actually care for you? Is this going to end terribly? Your thoughts never stopped, overflowing your mind that you almost forgot you were holding a conversation with him âYou okay?â You glanced over seeing the worried look on his face âOh yeah, just lost in thoughtâ He smiled sneaking a look at you before turning his eyes back to the road âWanna tell me about it?â You shook your head going back to the previous conversation. You two finally reached the restaurant and once more Colby opened the door and helped you.
You two sat there, laughing and talking about your childhood and how you became so fascinated with books. Unfortunately it was time for you to go home, so you both walked back to the car and started driving back to the library where you told him to drop you off since you didnât live far from there but it was getting dark quickly. âY/N I want to make sure youâre safe please let me take you the rest of the way homeâ You looked over and he was giving you puppy dog eyes. You sighed in defeat and nodded âFine, take a left hereâ He followed your every direction until you two finally reached your apartment, in the movies the girl would always ask if the boy wanted to come in, as much as you wanted to do that you knew that your books were all over the place and you didnât want him to see that. âWhy donât you come back tomorrow, we can have a picnicâ You couldnât believe the words coming out of your mouth, youâve never been this bold before but it felt right. He smiled wide and kissed the top of your hand âUntil tomorrowâ You smiled back at him and walked up to your apartment giving him one more glance, returning the wave that he sent your way. You were falling for Colby although you didnât want to because itâll just end in a disaster you couldnât help it, he was perfect. Everything youâve dreamed about and then some. You sighed happily and did your nightly routine for bed, you couldnât wait until tomorrow just to see his smiling face. You woke up to a text from Colby letting you know he was on his way and heâd be there in 20 minutes, you jumped out of bed cleaning on your entire living room so it would look presentable, took a quick shower and picked out your outfit for the day. As soon as you were done messing with your hair you heard your doorbell ring, you knew exactly who it was and couldnât have been more excited to see him. You opened the door to see the smiling man holding a bouquet of flowers along with a blanket and a picnic basket, you smiled back at him, inviting him in until you were completely ready âThis is cute and cozyâ He beamed while looking around your living room âThank you, sorry about my books I meant to move them there were 3 books on your coffee table sitting neatly, Colby didnât mind one bit he even picked one up and read the cover. You picked up a light jacket and stood in front of Colby âOkay, Im readyâ He looked up at you in awe âYou look gorgeousâ Colby couldnât help but give you a toothy smile as he looked you up and down in the most respectful way, you began to blush as his eyes landed on your face âThank you, loveâ In shock you couldnât believe you actually said what you were thinking, Colby didnât seem to mind heâs been wanting to call you a cute pet name since the day he built up enough courage to talk to you. He grabbed your hand leading you out the door, he waited for you to lock your front door before grabbing your hand once more. Colby was the perfect gentlemen he knew a girl like you loves romance based off the books you read and he knew he had to be that guy for you. He was completely enamored with you and wanted to shout it from the rooftops but it was too soon and he didnât mind waiting at all for the perfect time to tell you he was in love with you. The entire ride to the park was a blur for you, you sat in the passenger seat just daydreaming of all the adventures you and Colby will have, could he be the one that breaks you out of your shell? Maybe, who knows really. Finally you reach your picnic area, be lays the blanket down and helps you sit down lowering the basket beside you, before sitting across from you âYou know, Iâve seen you so much and your nose was always in a book, iâve always known you were beautiful but to fully see your face.â He took a deep breath looking into your eyes âYou are breathtaking, I cannot believe I get to have a picnic with the more gorgeous girl in the world.â He smiled wide rubbing your cheek with his thumb, you cheeks turned a bright red and you looked down trying to hide your face. Colby hooked his finger under your chin and lifted it up
âWill you be my girlfriend?â
A/N: Iâm doing a second part, only because i want tođ. I hope i captured what you wanted. Feedback is appreciated!!

If you have any other ideas for fanfics, my asks are open for requests! I hope you all enjoy this; it took me forever to get done, and I had an insanely hard time coming up with how I wanted this fic to turn out. The struggle was totally worth it though; this is probably one of my favorite fics I've written!
All of my posts with an * in the title contain smut, or mentions of it. Minors DNI.

Living in Spain has been one of your biggest dreams, and you finally moved here for college abroad to work on your infuriating art major, even though you feel like youâre a little old for college now that youâre in your 30s. Youâre an underground artist, and youâre just itching to get your work out there to be noticed by the public. Youâre an absolute ball of sunshine, and to be fair, youâre the most energetic and outgoing person you know, but, you donât really know too many people in Spain yet, but thatâs beside the point. You really are energetic, thoughâ almost too much. There is one thing that youâre always excited about though, no matter whatâ reading. Finding new books to binge-read in one sitting is always one of your favorite activities when you have free time. The library cashier is extremely tired of you coming in every week.Â
Javi Gutierrez, on the other hand, is the polar opposite of you. Heâs a shy, new up-and-coming actor who doesnât know what he wants to do with his life after the success of his first movie. Though fame is finding him well, much more than anticipated, he doesnât particularly want to make another movie quite yet, now that his co-star, Nic Cage, has left Spain. Even with his newfound fame, he still enjoys going out and doing activities he enjoys, which mainly include going to the local library. He prefers reading in a library than in his own house, alone. He likes the atmosphere the library gives him, but most of all, he loves tucking himself away strategically in the corner of the library window, so he can look out and see the bustling streets of people living their everyday lives.Â
On a Friday afternoon, you have some free time to yourself, and you, of course, decide to head to your local library. You never go on Fridaysâ your typical day off is Sunday, but today was different; today was a professor work day at your college, so you had no classes or any assignments to complete, meaning you could spend your whole day reading. You walk into the library happily, as always. The smell of the ink bled into the pages of hundreds of books filled your lungsâ a scent you thoroughly enjoyed. You finally pick out a new book that youâve been eyeing, having heard good things about it online and from the people in your college.Â
Even though you got what you came for, you couldnât walk into a library and buy just one bookâ no, you had to buy at least 5 every time you came in. After picking out your books, you waltz to the cashier, who already appeared annoyed at you being there. A strict, slightly older womanâ always had an attitude, but that didnât let you stop being your energetic, bubbly self to her. âYou know, you still need to return the other 10 books, right?â she says, sternness filling her tone.Â
âYeah, yeah! I know; Iâll bring them all back next time I come!â you say, smiling widely, setting the books down on the counter. The woman simply rolls her eyes at your response, knowing youâd be back in a few days and sheâd have to deal with you again. After she scans the books, the woman tells you, âYour total is going to be âŹ15.75.â âŹ15.75⊠you think. You only brought âŹ15â you sigh in response; the woman before you, never having heard that sound come out of you, and looked at you like you had 3 heads planted firmly upon your shoulders. You searched your pockets and purse but had no change.
âItâs just 75 cents. Canât you let it pass this once?â You plead but to no avail. The woman shakes her head harshly, muttering something about âlibrary rules,â but you were too disappointed by her head shake to take care of what she said. You sigh once moreâ looking around the library; surely somebody would be willing to give you a dollar, right? Right?Â
You feel increasingly upset the longer you look through the library aisles for someone to ask until your eyes finally land on a gentleman wearing a mustard-colored shirt full of wrinkles. He was sitting in a corner, away from everything, with his legs planted on a footrest and his face hiding behind a book. You hold your finger up to the cashier, signaling for her to wait as she sighs in response. You walk up to the man, âHey! I hate to ask you this, but I was just checking out, and Iâm 75 cents short. Do you mind? Itâs okay if notââ you say quickly, trying not to seem too over the top.Â
The man lowers his book, and a shy pink rose upon his cheeks while nodding slowly. âUm yeah, sure,â he whispers, almost inaudible, as he shifts himself in his seat and reaches into his jeans pocket for some change. He pulls a âŹ5 bill from his pockets and raises his hand for you to take it before settling back into his seat.Â
You take the bill from between his fingers, grinning brightlyâ âThank you so much! Youâre a lifesaver,â you say, full of enthusiasm. A soft smile washes over the manâs face before nodding, his cheeks still showing a light rose color. You turn on your heel and rush back to the cashier, proudly waving your money in the air. After checking out, the cashier hands you your change, and you grab your books. Before you leave, you turn back and walk toward the man again. He seemed to have heard you coming and had lowered his book just enough to see you already standing there. âHey again, thank you for lending me some money. Hereâs the change!â you say, holding the money out to him, close enough for him to reach it. The man lowers his book into his lap, smiling softly, takes the money from your grasp, and messily pushes the money back into his jeans.Â
You finally catch a glimpse of the man's entire face, his curly brown hair complimenting his tanned skin and the patchy stubble on his face. You grow curious and look into the manâs lap to see what book heâs readingâ and to your surprise, itâs your favorite book ever. âOh my God,â you exclaim, a little too loud for a library, startling the man slightly and causing him to look at you. After adjusting your tone accordingly, you continueâ âthatâs my favorite book!âÂ
His face lights up brightly, âReally? Thatâs awesome,â he enthuses, yelling in a whisper. Just for a moment, heâs brought out of his shy state. He adjusts his position again, sitting forward in his seat and removing his feet from the footrest. âIâve loved this book since it came out,â he continues, âIâve never met anyone else who likes it.âÂ
âYeah, all the books from this author are really good! I especially love this one, though,â you finish, smiling as you sit on the footrest in front of the man, hugging your new books to your chest. The man, shy once more, becomes flustered until âHey, I was thinking of going to the coffee shop down the street. Do you wanna come with?â you say, tilting your head to the side.Â
The manâs eyes widened, with even more heat rising into his cheeksâ another thing they had in common; coffee. âYeah, of course,â he enthuses, breaking eye contact just enough to stand up out of his seat while grabbing his bag and placing his book inside of it, âI love that place!â he finishes as he puts the bag messily around his shoulder, looking back at you. He looks down at the books youâre holding in your arms, and as you stand up, he asks, âDo you wanna put your books in my bag? So you donât have to hold themââ he says softly.
âYeah, sure! Just donât steal them for yourself,â you joke, making yourself chuckle before handing him your books. The man blushes at your words, taking the books from your hands and placing them all inside his bag. The two of you walk out of the library, and you wave to the cashier as you leave; she, of course, didnât wave back. As the two of you walk towards the coffee shop, you get lost in conversation about your favorite books. The walk was the same distance it always was, but with the man walking with you, it felt a lot shorter than usual.Â
Just as you reach the shop, you stop suddenly. You hadnât asked the man his name, nor had he asked you. âI forgot to ask, whatâs your name?â you say, turning to him, smiling nervously.Â
âJavi,â he says, his rich, deep voice rings through your ears. A soft laugh escapes your mouth, full of nervousness as you tell the man your name, him joining your chuckles soon after. The two of you sit at one of the tables placed by a window.Â
The two of you gush over your newfound subjects in commonâ a not-so-known favorite author and coffee. What could be better? The two of you spend well over an hour hogging up the coffee table, just getting to know each other, until a worker comes and tells you that you have to leave if you arenât going to buy anything else. The two of you are already so strung out on coffee you both know either of you doesnât need any more in your system. âHey, do you wanna come over to my house for a little bit?â Javi asks, âYou donât have to, obviously; I know we just met andââÂ
You spring your head up at his words; youâve been having a lot of fun talking to Javi so far; what could it hurt? âOf course!â you interrupt his concerned rambling. He simply smiles in return, picking up the bag under his seat as he stands up. The two of you walk to the door of the coffee shop, âI walked here from my house, so itâs a bit of a walkââ he says, as he opens the door for you to walk out, âI hope thatâs okay,â he finishes as he walks out behind you, closing the door.Â
âYeah, thatâs alright!â you say excitedly as the two of you start walking towardâs Javiâs house. Obviously, you donât go to random peopleâs houses like this, but Javi feltâ different. He felt trustworthy, considerate, and loving. Youâre brought out of your thoughts while on the way there as you spot a flower field to the left of you. You stop walking to look at the view for a moment, Javi noticing almost immediately. He turns back to face you, a slight smile planted on your face. Youâve never been to this area of Spain before, and already, itâs so much more beautiful than where you currently dwell.Â
Javi looks for a moment at your wavy hair, lightly being blown in the sunsetâs wind, the sun glowing brightly in the backdrop of you, lighting illuminating your features. As he realizes heâs been staring, he clears his throat and fixes his shirt before stepping toward you. Just as he reaches your side, you look at him. âItâs beautiful,â you declare, still looking at the field. Javi looks at you and nods, âYeah, it is.â before turning his head to look where your eyes were fixated. Suddenly, you interlink your arm with his, tugging at him to follow you into the field. âCome on, letâs pick some flowers,â you say, excitement filling your body, with a slight red washing across your face as you unlink your arm, running your hand down to hold his, as you turn around to face him while walking backward as laughter fills the air. Javi blushes at the sight of you for what seems like the millionth time todayâ as you two reach relatively far from the path you were previously walking, you let go of Javiâs hand, your body missing his touch.
You bend down near a patch of red carnations, picking a flower and lifting it to your nose, smelling the sweet yet subtle clove-like scent and letting it fill your body, making you feel warm inside. You stand back up and turn around to see Javi standing behind you, hands in his pockets with the corners of his lips upturned softly, causing gentle wrinkles to form around his dark-colored eyes. You walk up to him and place the flower behind his ear, letting his soft curls hug around the stem to hold it in placeâ light pink creeps up his neck and onto his cheeks once more.Â
You giggle at his face, full of aweâ you break your gaze from his kind face enough to look up into the sky, causing Javi to do the same. You notice itâs getting late, and just as youâre about to say you should get going to Javiâs house, he speaks, âItâs getting late; we should hurry before it gets too dark,â his deep voice with his rich accent echoing through your ears as if honey had a soundâ making your cheeks flush.Â
You simply nod in agreement while holding your hand out for him to take it. He has to look back between your hand and your face a few times before finally taking it in his own, making a few soft chuckles escape your mouth, causing him to do so too. After about 20 minutes of walking, the bright orange rays shining behind you slowly disappear until finally reaching itâs end, and the lightness of the moon begins peeking out from the horizon. The two of you reach Javiâs home, and Godâ was it beautiful. You wouldnât admit it, but you felt slightly jealous while walking into his pristine villa home when youâre reminded of your small college dorm.
âDo you want a drink or anything?â he asks, breaking the non-awkward silence the two of you had throughout your walk.Â
âSure! Waterâs fine,â you reply happily, looking at all of the knick-knacks Javi had littered throughout his home. Javi returns with your water in hand, nearly running to get back to you.Â
After handing it to you, he speaks up, âDo you wanna go sit on the couchâ or?â he says, his voice laced with a sort of sweetness that makes your body tingle. You nod in response, taking a sip from your water. Javi guides you to his living room; the large room before you opens up as he turns on moody, orange lights that remind you of the sunset you saw a mere hour ago. It feels homeyâ welcoming, and warm. Something you donât experience at your own college house. Javi walks over to the couch, covered in soft blankets and a few pillows, and kicks his feet up on the coffee table. You follow closely behind, sitting close to him, your knees almost brushing against each other as you sink into your seat.Â
Javi hums as if heâs forgotten something essential and stands up without saying anything. He disappears into the other room, leaving you there. After a few moments, he returnsâ an old worn book in his hands. âThis is one of my favorite books,â he says, sitting back down next to you, âI want you to read it,â he finishes softly, looking at you while motioning for you to take it. You obligeâ surprisingly, itâs a book youâve never read, so of course, youâd be willing. You open the book to the first page, glancing at it, then turning over a few pages before running your fingers through each and every page, noticing messily written notes and scribbles written out into the worn margins. You absolutely adore annotated books, and itâs one of your favorite pastimes, besides actually reading the book in the first place.Â
You let a few chuckles escape your mouth as you look up to see Javiâs relieved expression grow on his face after your silence. You reach over to hug him quickly, causing him to laugh too, his hand resting on your upper back. You pull away, returning your attention to the book, positioning yourself cross-legged before him, sinking into your seat even more. âCan I read it now?â you ask, smiling, still not looking at him but skimming the first page's notes.Â
âOf course,â he says simply, smiling. You start reading immediatelyâ resting your head on the side of the couch. You point out a few rather silly remarks heâs written down on the first page, causing you both to giggle. You spend well over an hour just reading the pages of the book, occasionally engaging in a conversation about what youâre reading, Javi being just as fascinated with it as you are, if not more which makes you chuckle. After a while, a âCan I lay my head on your lap?â escapes your mouth, looking at Javi for consent. He nods as his face heats up, and you lay down, the book above your face, as you two still talk about the notes heâs made and the careless actions the main character makes in the book.Â
About halfway through the book, you hear Javiâs stomach grumble something mean, causing you to laugh. âYou hungry?â you ask sarcastically, looking at him, letting a few more chuckles escape your mouth. You receive a nod as he joins in on your laughter, a slight tint of embarrassment hidden within as he hides his face behind his hands. You lift your head off his lap, setting the book down on the couch, not leaving the page you left off on. âYou should eat,â you say softly.Â
âYeah,â he pauses, thinking. âDo you want some cake? Thatâs what Iâm going to have,â he finishes, looking over at you, eyes glistening in the lightâs warm tones that fill the room.Â
You smile, âThat soundâs perfect!â you say, nodding. He stands up, whispering a quiet âokayâ sound before disappearing into the other room once more before returning a few minutes later with two plates, each with red velvet cake and a napkin on each. You let out a small squeak at the sight, making your mouth water slightly at the richly flavored cake. As you two are eating, Javi finishes rather quickly, and you notice frosting on his face he doesnât seem to notice. You pick up your napkin to wipe it off, his cheeks turning visibly red, as does yours, the both of you gigging.Â
Once you finish your cake, you set both plates down on the coffee table, along with the book, and lay your head back down on his lap. âWanna watch some TV?â you ask, looking up at his face and into his eyes as he meets yours.Â
âSure thing,â he says, nodding while looking down at your face before reaching for the remote to turn on the TV. After an hour of watching the show, you fall asleep, head still resting in his lap. He notices shortly after when he hears the soft snores that escape your mouth, which is slightly agape. He smiles at the sight, lowering his hand down to brush some of the hair out of your face. He feels your cold skin and grabs the blanket from behind you that was messily thrown over the couchâs back, and lays it over your body, causing you to stir slightly in your sleep. He lowers the volume of the TV so as to not wake you up.
Shortly after, he looks down at your sleeping state, whispering a light "Goodnight, hermosa (beautiful)," before he leans back onto the couch deeper, sighing contently, before falling asleep for the night, with you in a deep sleep on his lap.

Six Sentence Sunday: Looking For Home: My Home Is You
Star Wars: Looking For Home: My Home Is You
BookWorm's Library | Ao3
The Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1760 light freighter moved steadily toward the jet-black Super Star Destroyer. Unlike the Executor's arrowhead silhouette, the Eclipse had a wedge-shaped bow perfect for ramming into anything opposing its might. It was also twice the size of Lord Vader's destroyed flagship. The YT-1760ânamed Jade's Escape according to its transponder codeâlooked like a grain of sand compared to the Eclipse and didn't fight the locked-on tractor beam.
A battalion of stormtroopers took their positions inside the hangar bay. Two companies lined the walls and the catwalks above, one company took scattered position behind the cover of docked shuttles and other equipment, and the last stood at attention before the platform on which the Jade's Escape would land. The pilot and passengers could not miss the Imperial strength levied against them.
Summary: Mara Jade has gone from wanting to kill Luke Skywalker to accepting his help for her minor problems and reciprocating by saving his life, but where will her loyalties fall when the Emperor Reborn calls her back to his service?
Frangipani (@teagrl) had a Tumblr post that inspired this story. I couldnât stop thinking about the idea, even though I never read Dark Empire in full and never wanted to because I think thatâs where the EU Legends mis-characterization of Luke Skywalker started. That was my main reason for rejecting me writing this plot bunny: I hadnât read that part of the source material and still donât want to read it.
Eventually, I will learn not to say publicly that âoh I wonât write that story idea.â Every time I do, I end up writing the story. I made a comment on someoneâs else fanfic about hated story lines of the EU referencing this idea and how I didnât think I could do it justice because I didnât want any more knowledge of the Byss episode than I had already gleaned from the rest of EU Legends. Besides, I was busy on my Rescue the Farmboy AU. Then came a writing challenge of meeting daily word count goals from a writing encouragement newsletter. The Rescue the Farmboy AU took too much time researching movie scenes at the time, so I decided to outline this Byss AU instead and work on it for two weeks. Then Iâll have something to build off of later.
The two weeks got spent only on the outline, and I found myself committed to writing it after. I hope you enjoy this AU in the Star Wars Legends continuity.

FEATURING Steve Harrington x fem!chubby!reader
CONTENT WARNING Steve falling in love with a literal stranger, reader is a bookworm, fluff, love-sick idiot, Robin (because she is a warning)
SUMMARY Who knew strangers could be so unforgettable
AUTHORS NOTE As promised, here is another fic! I thought this idea was really cute, so I just had to write it. Also, I based the reader off of how I see myself, so if any of you were wondering what I look like, this is pretty accurate in my opinion. Let me know if you would like to see a part two of their date!
Taglist @livsters
As Steve rushed towards his car parked near the arcade, his mind buzzing with thoughts of his next shift at Scoops Ahoy and the plans he had with his friends later, he never expected to collide with someone in such a serendipitous manner. It was like something out of a movieâthe way you appeared seemingly out of nowhere, a whirlwind of chaos and grace that caught him completely off guard.
In that fleeting moment of impact, as you stumbled into his chest and the papers in your arms scattered to the ground, time seemed to stand still. Steve couldn't help but be captivated by the sight of you, a complete stranger, with your dramatic gasp and your eyes wide with surprise. There was something about the way you carried yourself, a blend of vulnerability and strength, that drew him in like a moth to a flame.
And then there was your voiceâa lower, but strong womanly voiceâthat washed over him like a soothing melody as you apologized for the collision. It was a voice that resonated deep within him, stirring something primal and unexplainable. In that moment, Steve found himself utterly enchanted by you, swept away by the charm and allure of a stranger he had never seen before.
He didn't even know your name, and yet you had him ready to swoon with just a single encounter.
"I am so sorry!" You gasped, the apology tumbling from your lips in a rush as you scrambled to your feet, your cheeks flushed with embarrassment. With a sense of urgency, you darted after the wayward pages that had scattered across the pavement, each one a testament to the chaos of the moment.
"No, it's my fault," Steve interjected, his words coming out in a hurried rush as he joined you in the frantic pursuit. Together, you both chased after the flyaway papers, the sound of footsteps echoing against the pavement as you worked in tandem to gather them up.
Amid the commotion, Steve couldn't help but steal glances at youâyour determined expression, the way your hair danced in the breeze, the graceful movements of your hands as you reached for the wayward papers. There was something undeniably captivating about you, a magnetic pull that drew him in despite the chaos of the moment.
As you took the remaining papers from him, a grateful smile gracing your lips, Steve couldn't help but take the opportunity to really take you in. There was something undeniably captivating about you, something that drew his gaze and held it captive as he observed you with newfound interest.
You were on the larger side, as far as he could tell. The oversized hoodie you were wearing obscured his view of your stomach, but he couldn't help but notice the curve of your hips and the gentle swell of your chest beneath the fabric. His eyes lingered on your figure, tracing the contours of your body with a mix of curiosity and admiration.
He estimated you were probably a C cup in bra size, your shoulders broad and slightly masculine, a hint of strength evident in the way you carried yourself. But it was your legs that truly caught his attentionâthe light-washed boot-cut jeans you were wearing hugged your curves in all the right places, accentuating the deliciously thick thighs and beautifully sculpted calves that had Steve practically salivating at the sight.
Damn. You were something else.
As you straightened up, Steve took note of your height, estimating you to be around 5'5, give or take. You weren't what he was used toâthose pin-up stick-thin girls with blonde hair and perfect figuresâno, you were different. And yet, there was an undeniable allure about you, a raw beauty that defied conventional standards and left him utterly captivated.
Your brunette hair framed your face in soft waves, the natural rosy tint of your chubby cheeks adding to your charm. The large black glasses perched on your nose only served to accentuate your features, drawing attention to the almost clear blue of your eyes and the dirty blonde color of your eyebrows.
So, you weren't a natural brunette. Interesting.
Steve couldn't tear his gaze away from you, mesmerized by the way you moved, the way you carried yourself with an air of confidence and grace. In his eyes, you were nothing short of a goddess, absolutely perfect in every way.
And as your eyes met his, framed by those large glasses that only seemed to enhance your beauty, Steve felt a spark of something ignite within himâa spark of curiosity, of fascination, of a desire to know more about the enigma that stood before him.
"Thanks for the help, and sorry again for, y'know, bumping into you," you said with a warm smile, your voice carrying a hint of genuine remorse as you clutched the large stack of unorganized, messy papers to your chest.
"No problem at all, and seriously, it was my fault," Steve replied earnestly, his tone tinged with self-deprecation as he attempted to absolve you of any blame. "I shouldn't have been running without looking where I was going andâ"
Before he could finish his sentence, he heard the soft snort that escaped your lips, a sound so unexpectedly endearing that it made his heart skip a beat. The sight of your eyes twinkling with humor only added to the charm, and Steve found himself momentarily lost in the warmth of your laughter.
But the moment was fleeting, shattered by the sudden intrusion of Dustin's urgent voice blaring through the walkie-talkie. "Steve! Did you not hear me the first time?! CODE ORANGE! I repeat! We have a CODE ORANGE!"
Steve cursed inwardly, the interruption coming at the most inconvenient of times. "I think you should get that," you chuckled, offering a sympathetic smile as you gestured toward the device. "Thank you again."
As you turned to leave, Steve felt a pang of regret wash over him, a sense of longing for more time with you, for the chance to learn more about the intriguing stranger who had crossed his path. But before he could gather his thoughts, you were already disappearing into the crowd, leaving him standing there with a sense of loss gnawing at his insides.
Watching you go, Steve couldn't help but wonder about the story behind those papers you carried, about the secrets they held and the purpose they served. He wished he could have asked, could have gotten to know you better, but now it seemed like a missed opportunity slipping through his fingers.
With a heavy sigh, Steve shook off the disappointment and turned his attention back to the urgent call from Dustin, his mind already racing ahead to the chaos that awaited him. But somewhere deep down, amidst the noise and commotion, a small part of him held onto the hope that fate would once again bring you together, that this wouldn't be the end of your unexpected encounter.
Steve couldn't believe his luck when he spotted you again, nestled in the most secluded corner of the Hawkins Library, completely engrossed in your work. It had been over three months since he ran into you, and yet here you were, as captivating as ever, with your small notebook and typewriter, lost in a world of your own creation.
Just the sight of you made Steve breathless, his heart racing as he took in the sight of you. You were wearing a pair of black leggings and a large graphic t-shirt with the words 'Yeah⊠No' scrawled across the front, a casual yet effortlessly cool ensemble that only seemed to enhance your natural allure.
"Steve!" Nancy whisper-shouted from his side, snapping him out of his reverie. "You wanted to come with me and Robin, but if you aren't going to take this seriously, I'll sentence you back to babysitting."
Steve blinked, torn between the desire to stay and watch you and the obligation to follow Nancy and Robin. He knew he couldn't just abandon them, but at the same time, he couldn't tear his gaze away from you, from the way you seemed so focused and determined, your brow furrowed in concentration.
"Sorry, it's justâ" Steve started to say, but he stopped himself before he could reveal the true reason for his distraction. He couldn't very well tell Nancy, his ex-girlfriend, that he had a massive crush on a girl he barely knew. It would only complicate things and make everything awkward.
"It's just what?" Nancy pressed, her tone slightly irritated as she threw him a pointed look. Steve hesitated, unsure of how to respond without revealing too much. He could feel Robin's curious gaze on him, and he knew she would pick up on any slip-up in an instant.
"Nothing," Steve replied, though his voice carried a hint of distraction as he watched Nancy's retreating figure with a mixture of longing and resignation. He couldn't help but feel torn between his obligation to his friends and the overwhelming desire to linger in your presence, to soak in every detail of your being.
"What's got your panties all bunched up, dingus?" Robin teased, her playful jab accompanied by a mischievous grin. "Is it the environment? Too much knowledge, your little brain is hurting," she quipped, enjoying the opportunity to ruffle Steve's feathers.
Steve rolled his eyes at her antics, feeling a twinge of annoyance at her relentless teasing. "Whatever," he muttered under his breath, his irritation simmering just beneath the surface.
But Robin wasn't one to let things go easily. "Okay, but seriously though, what has you going all gawky McGee over here?" she persisted, her curiosity piqued as she leaned in closer, her eyebrows raised expectantly.
Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Steve hesitated before finally confiding in her. "You know that girl I ran into a while ago?" he whispered, casting a furtive glance around to ensure they weren't being overheard.
Robin's eyes widened in recognition as she nodded in understanding. "No, you've only talked about her every day for three months," she quipped, unable to resist a playful jab at Steve's expense. "What about her?"
"She's here," Steve admitted quietly, the words tumbling from his lips like a guilty confession. His heart quickened its pace as he spoke, the mere mention of your presence sending a thrill of anticipation coursing through him.
"Like, here here?" Robin echoed, her surprise evident in the way her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Yeah, she's over at one of the tables in the corner, messy space," Steve confirmed, his gaze fixed resolutely ahead as he resisted the urge to steal a glance in your direction. But Robin, ever the curious one, craned her neck to catch a glimpse of you over his shoulder, her interest piqued by the revelation.
"Huh," Robin mused, her brows furrowing slightly as she pondered Steve's admission.
"What does 'huh' mean?" Steve's nervous demeanor didn't escape her notice, and she couldn't resist teasing him about it.
Steve shifted uncomfortably, his gaze flickering away as he toyed with the edge of his jacket sleeve. "Wow. Don't even know her name and you're already whipped," Robin teased, a playful glint dancing in her eyes. "Huh, meant that she isn't what you usually go for."
Steve's cheeks flushed a shade of pink at Robin's teasing, but he couldn't deny the truth in her words. "I know, but there is something about her," he confessed, his voice softening as he thought of you. "It's like⊠I can't quite put my finger on it."
Robin's face lit up with excitement as she leaned in closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh! I have a great idea!"
Steve groaned inwardly, knowing from past experience that Robin's "great ideas" often led to trouble. But despite his reservations, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity at what she had in mind.
"I am going to make you a bet," Robin declared, her smirk widening into a mischievous grin. "If you lose, you have to go ask her out. But if I lose, you get to pick my punishment."
Steve's eyebrows shot up in surprise, his interest piqued by the prospect of a challenge. "Okay," he agreed cautiously, knowing full well that Robin's bets were never as simple as they seemed. "What is the bet?"
"I bet that she is in college for," Robin paused, her gaze flicking over to where you were seated, "oh, I know! She's an education major!" Her expression was positively smug as she turned back to Steve, her confidence in her guess evident in the cocky tilt of her head.
Steve considered Robin's wager carefully, weighing the odds in his mind before nodding in agreement. "Okay, so if she is literally any other major, I win?"
"Fair's fair," Robin agreed, her grin widening as she eagerly awaited the outcome of their impromptu bet. With a newfound sense of determination, Steve focused his attention back on you, silently hoping that Robin's guess would turn out to be wrong.
"Alright," Steve agreed reluctantly, his heart sinking as Robin smirked triumphantly before striding off in your direction. It was then that he truly regretted his decision, knowing full well that Robin's schemes rarely ended well.
You, on the other hand, were completely engrossed in your work, your attention fully focused on the task at hand as you scribbled away in your notebook. You were oblivious to the approaching figure until a loud voice shattered the quiet atmosphere of the library.
"Hello!" Robin's voice rang out, a little too loud for the tranquil setting, causing you to startle in surprise.
"Uh, hi?" you responded tentatively, your eyebrows furrowing in confusion as you turned to face the unfamiliar woman who had interrupted your concentration.
"You see that hot guy over there?" she asked, gesturing back toward where Steve was seated. You followed her gaze, your eyes landing on Steve who immediately blushed, his gaze dropping to the floor.
"The one with too much hair gel?" you replied, unable to suppress a slight smirk as you observed Steve's embarrassed reaction. Robin burst out laughing at your remark, earning a reproachful glance from Steve.
"Dingus does put too much in, doesn't he?" Robin chuckled, her amusement evident as she turned back to face you. "Anyway, we have a little bet running, and if I win, he has to ask you out," she explained, her words leaving you feeling increasingly bewildered.
You blinked in surprise, your mind struggling to process the unexpected turn of events. Sure, you remembered bumping into the cute guy from the arcade, but you never expected anyone, especially someone as attractive as him, to be interested in you. The realization left you feeling flustered and unsure of how to respond.
"What's the bet?" you ask, your curiosity piqued by the unusual encounter.
"What is your major?" the woman responds eagerly, bouncing with excitement as you play along.
"I'm an education major. I want to teach college english," you reply without hesitation, feeling surprisingly comfortable opening up to this stranger.
"Yes!" Robin cheers, pumping her fist in the air with triumphant glee. "Please hold" she trails off, prompting you to provide your name.
"Oh," you chuckle awkwardly, telling her your name, a faint blush coloring your cheeks as you realize you've been caught off guard by the unexpected interaction.
"Please hold," Robin says, flashing you a quick smile before darting off toward her friend.
"Guess who's getting their hot date with mystery girl," Robin taunts Steve, her voice lilting in a sing-song manner. Steve lets out a resigned sigh, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and nervous anticipation.
"Get over there, lover boy. A bet is a bet," Robin adds, nudging Steve teasingly as she gestures toward your table. With a deep breath to steady his nerves, Steve begins to make his way over to where you're sitting, feeling a surge of adrenaline coursing through him as he approaches your busy figure.
"Um, hi," Steve greeted, feeling a surge of nervous energy coursing through him as he finally mustered the courage to approach you.
You looked up from your work, your attention captured by the sudden interruption. Your heart skipped a beat as you took in Steve's appearance, his presence somehow managing to make your surroundings feel a little brighter.
"Oh, hello," you replied with a warm smile, feeling a flush of embarrassment color your cheeks as you realized that Steve was the guy Robin had mentioned. It seemed she had won her bet after all.
"My name is Steve," he introduced himself, his voice tinged with nervousness as he extended a hand towards you.
"I'm Y/N," you responded, your voice soft with a hint of amusement as you shook his hand. Despite your own nerves, you couldn't help but find Steve's awkwardness endearing.
Steve cleared his throat, his nerves getting the better of him as he struggled to find the right words. "I bet my friend over there," he began, gesturing towards Robin who was watching the exchange with eager anticipation, "bet me that you were an education major. And, well, you obviously are, so⊠basically, what I'm trying to say here is, will you go out on a date with me, Y/N?"
A rush of excitement surged through you at Steve's question, mingling with a hint of disbelief. No one had ever asked you out before, and the prospect of going on a date with someone as charming as Steve was both thrilling and nerve-wracking.
"Sure," you replied with a gentle smile, your heart fluttering with anticipation.
"Really?" Steve asked, his eyes widening with surprise at your acceptance.
"Really," you confirmed, a soft chuckle escaping your lips as you watched the disbelief flicker across Steve's face.
"Wow, great! Wow," Steve babbled, his words tumbling out in a rush as he struggled to contain his excitement. "What time should I get you?"
You couldn't help but smile at Steve's enthusiasm, finding it endearing despite his nervousness. "How about I give you my number, and you can call me to let me know when you're free? I'll see if I can make it," you suggested, already reaching for a small notebook tucked away in your bag.
"Here. Call me," you said warmly, tearing out a page from the notebook and handing it to Steve with your phone number scrawled on it. Steve accepted it eagerly, a grateful smile spreading across his face as he realized he was one step closer to seeing you again.
"Thanks, I'll give you a call," Steve said, his voice filled with gratitude as he tucked the slip of paper into his pocket. With a final nod of farewell, he turned and walked away, his heart racing with excitement at the prospect of getting to know you better.
