FINAL POLL OF ROUND 3

Propaganda
Glynis Johns (Mary Poppins, The Court Jester)—LISTEN, I'd let that woman's voice with all its gravely hoarseness (positive) wash over me all goddamn day, but if that's not enough she managed to play the straight woman to Danny Kaye's jester, all with her cleavage so plunging it might as well have been catapulted into the ocean right after Basil Rathbone
Meena Kumari (Sharada, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam)— Meena Kumari was Indian actress and poet, regarded as the "Tragedy Queen of Bollywood" due to her legendary performances in emotionally charged roles. Using words from her biographer: "She had many dimensions — she read poetry, had many literary friends, [and] aspired to the higher life." Meena had an incredibly difficult life, and translated this pain into her volatile acting performances. She is an artist beloved and revered by her fans.
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Glynis Johns:

She walks the line between sexy and cute. Her best role for me is in "The Court Jester as Maid Jean. She's fantastic as the soft but tough captain of the outlaw band and she looks stunning in every gown she wears throughout the film. And of course we can't forget her iconic turn as the suffragette mother, Mrs. Banks, in Mary Poppins! Also shoutout to her distinctive and beautiful voice, kind of smoky and husky. Extremely hot and set her apart from many of her peers."

"She was amazing in Mary Poppins (the Suffragette song is severely underrated) and apparently she was Welsh? National pride! And she advocated for arts funding in Wales, which is very cool. Also, she died recently (RIP) making her one of the last survivors of the Golden Age of Hollywood, according to Wikipedia. Also also, she just has a cheeky energy I like? And her eyes are beautiful!"
"She had this wonderful wit and charm to her no matter the role and the most distinctive, striking voice!"

"I mean, incredibly beautiful and talented, can do drama can do comedy. And she was a mermaid."
"Like Bette Davis she has eyes to die for. Unlike Bette Davis you felt comforted by them, even when she was batting her eyelashes at you. Would glady go to Downing Street with her and throw things at the Prime minister"

"Listen, listen. I was raised on Mary Poppins and "Votes for women! (step in time)" single-handedly taught me how to be a feminist. Also The Court Jester is one of my favourite movies of all time and she is UNBELIEVABLY gorgeous, charismatic, funny, and clever in it. She knocks several men out. Absolute icon."

"I love Glynis Johns. Most of the reason is The Court Jester where she's a sensible and capable foil to whatever what going on with Danny Kaye at the time. She was also the first star I based an OC on. An OC that I still have to this day! Anyway here have some YouTube links love u bye"

Aka; an Armand playlist that only has songs from Shah Rukh Khan movies
Season 1 Episode 1: Aaya Tere Dar Par // Veer-Zaara I have broken all bonds with the world For you have come, leaving the world behind On your doorstep, your lover has come He has come, your lover has come
[Sorry for qawwali rocking. It will happen again.]
Season 1 Episode 2: Aa Tayar Hoja // Asoka Once on board the evening ship, get yourself settled in Come on, let's go! The evening shall be ecstasy The lips shall be mine but the thoughts shall be yours
[Needed at least one item number because Rashid!Armand basically served the same function as "I'm not sure what's happening here but I think I like it!"]
Season 1 Episode 3: Jaadu Teri Nazar // Darr Whether you say yes or no Whether you say yes or no Kiran, you're mine Kiran, you're mine
[Might as well throw this banger at the episode where Armand doesn't do anything but get accused of lingering.]
Season 1 Episode 4: Chaiyya Chaiyya // Dil Se Those who’ve been blessed with The shadow of love over their head, Will have heaven under their feet one day
[This claim is a little less impressive when you can float and you're immune to mediocre stars.]
Season 1 Episode 5: Chalak Chalak // Devdas This wine, this wine, yes, this wine, this wine This wine brings with itself The rain of memories It splashes and overflows This wine all around the heart
[Just here because of how often wine and blood are used as metaphors for one another and this episode has really comedically sezualized blood drinking DON'T THINK TOO HARD ABOUT HOW THE END OF THE SONG SIGNALS DOOM...]
Season 1 Episode 6: Baazigar O Baazigar // Baazigar My heart was alone You played such a game I stay up all night in your memories
[And that's a threat by the way.]
Season 1 Episode 7: Aaj Ki Raat // Don
The crazy ones are still unaware of What's going to happen tonight, What will be gained, what will be lost
[Not only is it difficult to know what Armand is doing, it's-]
Season 2 Episode 1: Tumse Milke Dil Ka // Main Hoon Na Check that! Wiiiiicked
[Or, if you prefer: "You don't know what is inside of my heart/You will remember my story."]
Season 2 Episode 2: Where's the Party Tonight // Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna The pleasant songs are playing All lovers are misled So dance all night Where's the party tonight?
[Somewhere down the road!!!... at the combination mansion and vampire all you can eat place.]
Season 2 Episode 3: Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte // Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi I wish someone would love me, even if it’s a lie Even if it’s a lie, yes even if it’s a lie In every lifetime, the colors will change We blossom behind the curtains of dreamland We are travelers on the path of love, We’ll meet again as time goes by
[There are so many bollywood songs that make me feel like I've lived through several lifetimes, especially this one.]
Season 2 Episode 4: Ishq Kameena // Shakti Love is rotten, it has broken every heart Every lover has lost out to love, love has struck me down I find no peace, love is horrible, it makes life miserable
[Good song for an episode with everyone trying and failing to be romantic.]
Season 2 Episode 5: Dard-E-Disco // Om Shanti Om Then the fountain of grief started flowing As the balloon of my dreams burst That's why I now wander London, Paris, New York, L.A. or San Fransisco In my heart is the pain of disco
[... /Mic drop]
Season 2 Episode 6: Marjaani // Billu In the presence of God, I've also made promises I've acted according to the customs of the world Still if the world doesn't understand, then punish it If it agrees with you, then reward it If this crazy world doesn't agree to it then Let the world go to hell and die
[When you are about to be unable to prevent it :(]
Season 2 Episode 7: Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om // Om Shanti The story goes that the one who recognizes the murderer, That lad has come back. It’s life’s way of telling the murderer That the shadow of death has surrounded him
[Just play this one in reverse because instead of using the trappings of theater to reveal the truth about an ingenue who was burned to death, we are using theater to conceal the truth about an ingenue who was burned to death.]
Season 2 Episode 8: Let's Break Up // Dear Zindagi Let’s break up, oh my love Agree to this We’ll never be able to make it work so let it go Let's break up!
[Yes, let's.]
#interview with the vampire#armand#devil's minion#since so many songs on here had me going ho ho he he hu hu when I reminded myself of the lyrics#if somethings isn't on here that should have been here trust me i'll be waking up in a cold sweat#all like WHY DIDNT I HAVE XYZ...#that's why you just make MORE playlists!

if hoyo paid me moral compensation pulls for every faked death in hsr how pulls much i would get, base rate 10 pulls:
first fake death was i think pyro trailblazer by cocolia, but i will actually let it slide, it wasn't cliffhanger, it had narrative purpose, it has clear explanation (the rock god giving powers)
dan heng getting stabbed and unlocking dragon fursona instead of dying. i will not let it slide bc it had no fucking explanation. he didnt even get his reincarnation's memory! just his powers. bc his dead self's ex stabbed him? like?? 10 pulls.
tingyun. actually i think hoyo owes me at least 20 pulls for this one, bc i had to go thru like 40 minute insufferable quest for her fucking funeral, where they realised that players met her for 5 seconds and no characters interacted meaningfully with her, so no one cares, so they had to invent an npc coworker we never met before to show up and give 20 minute infodump about how he loved tingyun and how cool and kind she was bc she brought him souvenirs or whatever. and THEN i had listen to smug clowns being like ooh hsr is so mature and serious, they killed a playable character, for like a year. and then they brought her back. actually, 30 pulls.
penacony had an actual fake death plot device. they should really sell the concept to bollywood and telenovellas
aventurine getting dramatically killed by raiden, making a big deal about walking to the other side of death or whatever, and then nothing fucking happened and he showed up at the end for 30 seconds to be like yeah im fine lol. 15 pulls bc i had to sit thru like 3 hours of solo aventurine yapping psychodrama that went nowhere
cliffhanger about robin being killed +10 pulls
cliffhanger about gallagher killing sunday +10 pulls
firefly. who was fake killed 3 times. and last time she was fake killed was already AFTER we've been told about fake death plot device monster. they were seriously expecting us to buy that shes gonna die. 40 pulls for audacity
some ppl thought sunday died at the end of penacony, at that point i didnt believe it for a second, but i will still take 10 pulls
might be forgetting something with how fucking many fake deaths are in this game but i think thats it?
so far, 125 pulls, so i could guarantee at least one 5 star

I HATE Pushpa (the character)
Pushpa is a movie that was released during the pandemic and became a massive hit. Even Bollywood stars commented on the movie. The songs were memorable and the song Sooseki got around 100 million views even though the second movie hadn't released yet.
It seems South indian Cinema is getting more appreciated with films like Bhaubali, RRR and KGF Chapter 1/2 and Devara might even gain more attention due to Jr. Ntr's presence. (Which I'm super excited about I loved him ever since I was young, him and Ram charan were one of my favorites so RRR was a pleasant surprise)
I'm just disappointed that Pushpa's story is the one thats getting this attention.
Pushpa has good BGM, the setting is cool and cinematography can be considered good and Allu Arjun is always appreciated but the story is where it lacks.
Can I understand it? Yes, I've been watching TollyWood movies ever since I was 1. I was singing Gabbar Singh songs when I was a toddler. I understand what logic Tollywood tries portraying is it always right? No but its enjoyable and times were different we're evolving we want more complex and meaningful stories now Bahubali and RRR gaining attraction are examples that South Indian movie industry is evolving finally!
So imagine my disappointment when I see Pushpa the next great Tollywood film.
"Pushpa Raj is a self respecting young man who takes pride in his work. He works at a mill, but leaves it when his owner doesn't like his attitude outside of work. Pushpa goes for Red sandal wood cutting in the forest. Pushpa lives in a village with his mother Parvatamma, and is the illegitimate son of a local rich man." That is the story according to imbd.
You'd think the movie gives more context about Pushpa nope. IMBD really summed it all up and thats the problem. Pushpa's character can be summed up in a few words and there's not depth beyond those words in the movie itself.
The thing that makes this film detestable is the main character Pushpa he is not enjoyable whatsoever. It's like one of those Dark Romance ML's but they tried mixing in a few funny liners and tried making him a sunshine character as well but failed?
He's not funny I feel bad for his sidekick Kesava actually no. I like Kesava better than Pushpa Himself. He looks like he has actually meaning and depth he has relatable goals and is actually funny or seems to have some sort of personality. I wholeheartedly ship him and Srivalli's friend actually go Side characters!
Now lets compare 2 films Maari 2 and Pushpa which might seem random but let me explain
Maari in both the first one and the sequel was a gangster however do you know why i like him better than Pushpa? He has redeeming qualities he has morals like he kills bad people but doesn't want to sell drugs because he knows that can make innocent people succumb to horrible diseases like his best friend their situations are very different however Maari is seen as a morally gray character just like Pushpa is portrayed as. Maari also has morals when he kills beeja's brother for attempting to assault Anandhi's sister. He's doing something 'bad' killing a person but he essentially redeems it because of why he does it. He also gives good advice when she talks about no one wanting to marry her because she's ruined maari says she isn't an object to be ruined and its not wrong to wait how long to find a guy that understands that.
He's a troubled guy with not normal values but I can sympathize with him and actually root for him because he's a good person.
A more accurate example KGF Rocky is on a very similar path to Pushpa he only relied on his mother his whole life until she died while in Pushpa his mother and himself suffered humiliation. Pushpa was often beat up Rocky was also beat probably even more. They both started at the streets and slowly climbed up wanting money and power. Pushpa only smuggled and framed and fought. Rocky outright killed but I still like him better than Pushpa do you know why?
Because he has character Rocky's backstory is more compelling wanting to fulfill his dying mother's wishes of not wanting her son to die miserably without money like her even if it meant becoming a bad person? Hell yeah. Also similar to maari he has limits he has certain morals, clear cut morals. in the first KGF movie he outright stops traffic for a mother and her son who wanted to get some food but were unable to because of the traffic and gave her hard advice. That the world isn't gonna stop for you its harsh and not lenient and that we need to MAKE it stop. We have to put in the work and not just hope someone will always come along. This gives us insight into his views further developing his character.
Pushpa's story is he was an outcast because he was an illegitimate son and was unable to have his father's last name? So he makes his name Pushpa Raj. He disrespects his mother at times despite her being the only one there for him. He has too much Pride. He doesn't have much regard for women as we see when he gives his shirt to Jaali's victim he isn't sympathetic to her at all and is kinda indifferent except for looking away as if he's uncomfortable more than regarding her own feelings
And the thing is all of these problems could be fixed if we saw more into his character which we're only given bits and pieces of.
Pushpa isn't close to his mother? Maybe its because he blames her for all the prejudice but still cares for her somewhere in his heart which is seen through the light interactions between the two in the movie. He has too much Pride? well he feels like thats his right because he was denied everything else his father's name, money, and even necklace. He doesn't have regard for women much? Even that can be fixed like in the movie 'temper' where Jr Ntr's character first doesn't care much for other women ends up willing to give his life for them he gets character development. Pushpa could not really see a big deal in Jaali's activities until he's confronted with one of the victims himself and is reminded of the women in his life and starts to detest Jalli which ultimately bursts when Jaali sets his eyes on Srivalli.
Everything I said you can mostly think about happening in the movie but its like a real stretch you have to really put your mind on it to see it happening in the canon of the Pushpa universe its nots showed to us the viewers like in other movies we don't get clear cut shots of these narratives I spoke up being played out. Its what makes these movies lively or entertaining in my opinion because they had depth which is enhanced due to the main character himself.
So see this from my perspective a MAN is able to outsmart the police and insult them, illegally get sandal wood, Act like and arrogant bastard through most of this move, have so much intelligence out of nowhere and still gets a girl?
Reena has more personality than Srivalli I'm actually gonna begin stanning her after this.
And when I say a MAN I mean a MAN because the person Pushpa on my screen is a stranger to me I don't get a clear feel of his character or any connection to him.
I really hope these issues are rectified in the second movie but I have my doubts. Pushpa as a movie feels like a regression for Tollywood and I don't want that for my cinema industry which I know has flaws but I also know that its healing and has really good stories.
Anyways to all Indian movie lovers out hope you're excited for Devara because I sure am. Jr. Ntr in double roles? Its like Adhurs all over again. And one of his roles seems really cute too, I've wanted to see Jr Ntr in action again for a long time.
But thats all for now
Yours truly
Roselle🪷

Real Love Ever
by Bobby Yusuf
I never regret you leaving, I just regret leaving my old self The iron is rusting, The retribution work too slow
Seems like "forever" won’t work for us anymore I wouldn’t know anything better than love I would’ve ridden alone, died alone, But with your offering, I wasn’t a lone train anymore
Your promising hand isn’t promising anymore Foxes jump like it’s the weekend I don’t want to begin again after all this I loved you more than I should have
I said, I love you, then you said, I miss you Executed me so badly Eyes, smirks, holding hands—nothing’s fun anymore So babe, were you my real love ever?
Driving alone in the city, the wind carries an open wound Nothing about this place can help Now we sit in different seats, Back then, we shared the same one
Back when love fell in the back of the class
Your magnetic smile enlivened my passion, Brought optimism I was too blind to see Now it’s all rain in a crisis year I know one thing—this is our fate
Two years ended, two summers passed, Two winter hearts, spinning and spinning
Your photos in my mind start to blur, In your mind, maybe they no longer exist I don’t want to say we never were, They already know more than they should
I touch you, you touch me back, I never thought secrets mattered this much Stupid, devil love—it's not fun anymore So babe, were you my real love ever?
My old self is buried, my heartbeat changed I cut my hair again that morning I still trust my trust, I don’t know what you’ll tell your friends
So I called it a cold war I never meant to start a war I wish you ended it before you ended me For days, in my dreams, you were all I thought about
Your hands now feel like nothing In my mind, I never made us a safe home I never even brought myself home safely Feels like I was running—but died
I hate you, you’re not coming back I never thought of blue this much A burning star has frozen So babe, were you my real love ever?
And maybe I’m the villain Maybe you were my reason to becoming one Maybe I was the one who cried too much You know I can’t measure love like this
You broke the stars in me Your politics were too good You were just a kid in a frame, Now you’ve grown into sin
You played with my friends, On the same day we stopped talking And I thought I was okay—until they asked me They’d never seen me this bad in November
You called me, said you were sorry For the last time
Our love was a masterpiece spell It was gold—it will never come back You said my name, held it in your mouth You remembered me in your mind
And I still remember your words so close
I guess I’ll never be the real love You’ll grow, you’ll change I won’t be what interests you anymore Your happy-ending Bollywood movie will come true,
But I won’t be standing beside you in the future
I’ll see the same blaze I’ll see the eternal past I’ll see the last heart of us, Blooming in the end—gleaming red
And I’ll rise again and again
Only we both know—I was part of your greatest love memory Only we both know—I was that baby in the middle of the class Only we both know—we were the happiest couple in history Only we both know—our sacred secret has come to an end
You swore you’d never hurt me, You swore you’d never hurt me, You swore you’d never hurt me But baby—you did
So, were we real love ever?

wait wait wait my gf and i have been getting really into indian cinema lately (we're 11 movies into our journey and loving every second) do you have any must see recs? we've so far watched a Lot of early 2000s srk movies lmao, its like half our list.
anon this is like the ask of my dreams. this is everything ive ever wanted. BOY DO I!!!! srk early 2000s is peak cinema you and your gf's taste is impeccable. some really fun indian movies are:
for shah rukh khan movies, i actually have an srk movie watchlist on letterboxd!!! you do Not need to follow the order of it but it's like vaguely ordered by what i think would make an enjoyable viewing experience. but if you haven't seen om shanti om that's the number one priority
sholay. possibly The most iconic bollywood movie ever, it came out in the 70s and stars amitabh bachchan, it's the closest thing bollywood has to a western probably? pretty much everyone has seen this movie and can quote it easily
stree is a more modern movie, its a horror comedy ghost movie with feminist undertones featuring rajkumar rao, possibly the best modern bollywood actor. i've watched this like 5 times in the past year because it's just so fun
BAHUBALI!!!!! a south indian film, unfortunately my knowledge on south indian movies is pretty lacking but bahubali is in my top 3 movies of all time. it's two movies and it's set in a fantasy-esque Golden Age of India setting and its all about royal family drama and chosen ones and the trials and tribulations of being a mama's boy
another really good shah rukh khan movie i have to recommend is rab ne bana di jodi, its a romcom with a pretty goofy setup but it's one of his most emotionally sincere and lovely movies in my opinion
goliyon ki rasleela ram-leela! it's a romeo and juliet retelling except they're rival gangs and wield guns, starring the gorgeous deepika padukone. the two lead actors actually fell in love while shooting the movie and eventually got married so that's a testament to their chemistry ig
i hope this list is helpful! i'm always up for giving bollywood cinema recs if anyone needs any, and if you're looking for a specific genre or anything i can do that too!

Hi again Sarah! My Indian films rec list just got super long cos of all the tropes and summaries so I'm making it into a proper post I can tag you in!
While I do that, here are my top five faves from both Bollywood and Kollywood (Tamil films) respectively:
Bollywood:
- Dhoom 2 (2006); I'm actually rewatching this right now and it's a SUPER fun, campy heist movie with a great soundtrack! The whole trilogy of movies are great but this one is my fave and they can all be watched as standalones
- 3 Idiots (2009); a modern classic that most people have heard of if they are casual fans of Bollywood. It takes place in an engineering college and has a super compelling plot I can't give away too much of
- Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008); It's a love story of an arranged marriage between a shy guy and this outgoing girl who kind of hates how quiet and introverted he is. And she thinks he expects her to be a traditional Indian wife so she kind of is sad abt being married. Then she goes to take dance lessons and in an attempt to connect with his wife, he goes to the lessons in disguise as a confident guy and they fall in love!
- A Bonus Rec: If you liked Aamir Khan (the lead actor in 3 Idiots) and Anushka Sharma (the lead actress of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), they did a really adorable sci-fi movie called PK (2014) about an alien called PK who crashes into India and befriends a human lady. It's just such love letter to humanity and I LOVED Anushka's character back storyline in that movie, it changed my life ahahha
- Teri Meri Kahaani (2012); Heads up this does star Priyanka Chopra but before she became a Hollywood weirdo 😭 and back when she was super talented!! It also stars this really cute actor called Shahid Kapoor. These two play different characters in three different timelines and it explores the concept of soulmates and Hindu reincarnation!! Again CHANGED MY LIFE!
- Ram Leela (2013) or the longer title is Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. It's basically a hotter and older M18 version of Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending if I remember correctly! It starts Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who fell in love on set (they were friends before that) and started dating just before the movie came out! They are now happily married 🥰
This got so long already hahaha I'll send you another ask with Tamil titles once you're ready for it! But these are all the fun titles I have loved, if you want more tragic ones (I love a good tragedy and having a good cry over movies), do let me know and I'll give you that list!
amazing thank you! i'm about to head to bed but i wanted to respond and let you know i got this, you can send me that list whenever you want no pressure, but these all sound really interesting! so i'll put them on my list of movies to watch!

These are my favourite characters throughout shows. I've watched many other basic stuff such as Narnia, star wars, Tinkerbell, etc. I don't mean basic as in the shows are mid. No, I mean basic as in the list is basic. Probably everyone saw what I saw.
I am an anime, manhwa, manga, manhua, webtoon, series and movies fan. Was an anime fan but decided that everything that happened in anime was slow, the talking, screaming and fighting. What I could watch and waste 3 hours on, could've been read in probably an hour. So that's that.
I watch about everything. From English shows to k drama, to Bollywood stuff... That's about it. I've made a list of characters that somewhat stuck with me and hyped me into a fandom.
1. Madara Uchiha: he's the main villain from naruto. But even back then I had lots of sympathy for the guy and what he said was nothing but truth. A world couldn't live without a war as long as people existed consciously, hence the people living in but dream state.
2. Rick Sanchez: he's the co-mc of the series Rick and Morty. I basically binge watched this show often enough. Rick is an asshole, doesn't bother hiding it but yet has sweet moments. Also, the bar of him for me is pretty low
3. Severus Snape: from the book/movie series - Harry Potter-. Epitome of kindness for me. Sure, an asshole to kids. At least I prefer him who would keep kids safe than those other sorry teachers that messed up every once in a while, almost killing students. My motto for him is at the moment "Snape wasn't as bad as his fellow Slytherins. Wasn't as nearly worse as marauders their bullying. Wasn't as bad of a friend as lily. Wasn't a bad teacher as many Hogwarts teachers. Wasn't as bad of a DE as his fellow DE." which equals to me into kindness.
4. Dean Winchester: from the series Supernatural and co-mc with Sam Winchester (his lil bro). I love him. I adore him. He's been through so much shit. I feel so much more pity for him than Sam Winchester. All Dean tries is to keep the family together, he had to parent the child yet his dad and brother (I've watched supernatural until s9 or so) treat him like crap.
5. Negan Smith: a villain that pops up in later seasons of The walking Dead series, he's as in truly ruthless. Like, his episode was literally called after what the scientist warned Rick of many seasons earlier than Negan's appearance. He also doesn't fuck around. He treats all of his people equal which many hate. Ironically he does not support rape and such. That plenty of bad guys did and bragged about in earlier seasons. He means business and that women of the main crew died, is sad but I respect him for that. Gives a somewhat real feel that others don't treat our precious ones as precious but basic enemies.
6. Daryl Dixon: also a character of The Walking Dead. I love him, I basically watched the show for Negan and Daryll. No spoilers but I kind of began detaching from other characters (I won't drop their names or reasons). So anyway. My poor overgrown sewer rat that hates showering had a very difficult bond with his bog brother which I truly adored. He reminds me a bit of Snape. Or opposite of Severus I guess. Daryl was great with kids but when he got angry, he felt regretful. Meanwhile Snape kept kids safe and yet didn't want that position at all thus doesn't feel regretful for saying mean things.
7. Loki Laufeyson: from the marvel universe. I find him completely understandable. His brother was a piece of shit before Thor met the avengers and got a midgardian gf. He enjoyed slaughtering Loki's species, fulfilling his blood thirsty war mongering of a dad his ideals. That timid, quiet mama boy grew up to resent the idea of being a mere treaty object or something like that. Not to mention how he sacrifices himself over and over.
8. Kurapika Kurta: Blondie from the anime series called hunter x hunter. Why I love him is that he shows vengeance on a great level. He doesn't waver or change by mere words or joyful sights such as the blossoming friendships of two kids. No, he came to the hunter world with a goal and works like a damn badass on that goal. I respect him so much for that. I was surprised actually that this happened. Usually when people get involved with the happy-go-lucky main character, the characters change. Such as Naruto, one piece, fairytale, bleach, DBZ, you name it. Also, normally these friends are made by lost battles and characters that came to respect the mc. Kurappika respects and cares about Gon, yet he also cares about the misery his clan faced to continue on that bad road. He even knows it's bad and everything but he simply must do it. Love this kid for that, I say kid because he's 17 and I am 22.
9. Eren Yeager: I've seen some twisted motheruckers but this one is amazing. He's the mc of the anime Attack on Titan. I'm so baffled because if I were in his position I'd probably do the same. Imagine being pushed so much into the corner where the entire world hates your race, treats them like cattle because 2 eons ago your species did that to them and so the cycle repeats. I'd crash out. Matter of fact, if I were to meet this lunatic, you bet your sheep that I would lose the battle of trying to talk sense into him. I wouldn't even know what to say to him. "Yeah, I know you killed your mom, dad, friends, but move on you know. Life has much more to offer. By life I mean life in the wall, because once you go out these walls, you'll get shot" yeah no.
10. Zeref Dragneel: Fairy tale main antagonist. Sad story. Family died, but he became something and protects his brother too while losing himself. This was simply sad af. Just as sad if not sadder than ace's death in one piece to be honest. He had to let go of the one family he had since he was but a toddler of some sort. Nor can the guy touch shit at all before it becomes death (similar to shigaraki, only zeref was published much earlier than shigaraki) thus couldn't touch his loved ones at all. That is straight up pitiful. Imagine your curse being the more you cared for others and yourself the more powerful your death curse became and killed those around you.
I couldn't put more pics, so these characters are without pics.
11. Reiner Braun: a character from the anime Attack on titan. Poor guy was a victim of the system. He made puberty driven choices. His simply caused more lives. More lives he didn't really attach too because it was him and his family being hung or the somehow hundreds of demons on the other side of the wall he was brainwashed with. He'd even prefer killing himself yet nobody else allows him to do so. He was an antagonist obviously for the people he killed but honestly, I bet many people do the same as him if not worse than him. If they were brainwashed since diapers, and had to choose between his family or the fugly demons that would soon wreak havoc on all mankind.
12. Griffith Femto: antagonist of the anime Berserk. Now, hear me out. I do NOT condone what he did to Casca. Not at all, NOT AT ALL. I simply understand WHY he snapped. In other words, not why he raped Casca. Not that. I'm talking about why he snapped and swallowed that dirty necklace. Only that. Alright? We got that? Great. Griffith has been through a lot. All that for his men to not die a useless death for the same crew to shit on him. Yeah no, fuck them ungrateful bastards too. I'll ruin them and their families.
13. Lelouch Lamperouge: character of the anime Code Geass. He's probably the much kinder forefather of Eren Yeager. Similar plot to become the enemy so the world unites to destroy him. He definitely has the intellect to drag himself up that stage.
That's about it I suppose. These are simply the ones at the top of my head. So you know, I like other stuff outside hp. 😂.

The murder of a politician in a bustling area in India's Mumbai city has sent shockwaves across the country.
Baba Ziauddin Siddique, 66, was shot on Saturday night near his carwhile he was leaving his son's office. He died later in hospital.
The killing of Siddique, an influential politician who was part of the coalition governing Maharashtra state - of which Mumbai is the capital - has set off a political blame-game.
The motive for the murder is not clear yet, but for many it has brought back memories of the 1990s, when politicians and film stars were frequently targeted by Mumbai's underworld.
Police have arrested three people so far and say investigations are continuing. Local media reports say the arrested men are part of a notorious gang whose leader is currently in jail.
Who was Baba Siddique?
Born in the eastern state of Bihar, Siddique migrated to Mumbai at the age of five with his father, a watchmaker.
He started his political career in the 1980s as a student leader with the Congress party, soon leading its youth wing in Mumbai. He then entered local council politics before being elected to the state’s legislature three times in a row and becoming a minister in 2004 for about four years.
In February, he left the Congress to join the Nationalist Congress Party which, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena, currently governs state.
Apart from his political activities, Siddique also made headlines for his glitzy iftar parties held during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan which were attended by top Bollywood stars.
It was at his iftar party in 2013 that superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan ended their much-discussed rift with a hug - that propelled "the annual Siddique affair into a must-watch event on the city’s social calendar", Midday newspaper wrote in 2016.
How was Siddique killed?
The politician was shot outside his son’s office as he was about to enter his car in the busy Bandra area.
Police said three shooters fired six-seven rounds, hitting Siddique's abdomen and chest, and fled the scene. A bystander was also injured as a stray bullet hit his leg.
Investigators said they had recovered two pistols and 28 live rounds of ammunition from the arrested men.
Siddique had three police guards - local media reported his security was upgraded days ago - but the suspects reportedly distracted them by setting off a "smoke firecracker".
What is the state of the investigation?
Police have been granted custody of the arrested men for a week. They say they are on the lookout for their accomplices.
“We have set up 15 teams and investigation is on to identify who provided logistical support to the shooters,” senior police official Datta Nalawade said.
While the police have not confirmed it, several reports citing sources have linked the arrested men with the notorious Bishnoi gang. The gang's leader Lawrence Bishnoi is an accused in several cases and is currently in a high-security prison in Gujarat state.
Within hours of the shooting, a man claiming to be a member of the gang posted on Facebook that they were behind Siddique’s killing. Police have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the post.
Though Bishnoi has been in jail since 2015, he frequently makes news. Many social media accounts claiming to belong to him or his associates have often posted his selfies from jail. He even gave interviews to a TV channel in 2022, prompting an investigation.
Many of the reports on Bishnoi are based on police sources and it’s not clear how he conducts the gang's operations while in prison.
The gang's name popped up in connection with the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
In April, police arrested two gang members for allegedly firing shots outside the apartment of actor Salman Khan in Mumbai.
On Monday, the Canadian police also said it believed the Bishnoi group had connections to Indian government agents who were using the gang to target Sikh separatists on their soil. India has not officially responded to the police claims.
What else has happened?
Siddique’s killing is the first major assassination of a politician in Mumbai since the 1990s when high-profile killings of politicians, businessmen and Bollywood celebrities by criminal gangs of the Mumbai underworld were not uncommon.
Local media reports said he had received a death threat two weeks ago, which led to his security being upgraded.
His killing within days of that has put the state government on the backfoot, with Maharashtra set to hold assembly elections soon.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called the murder “a complete failure of law and order in Maharashtra”, and Delhi's former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said the incident had scared not only the people of Maharashtra “but the entire country”.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has defended his government.
“[The culprits] will not be spared no matter who they are, be it the Bishnoi gang or any underworld gang… Those who are receiving threats, their safety is the state government’s responsibility and it will fulfil its responsibility,” he said.

Madhubala (Mughal-e-Azam, Barsaat Ki Raat, Mr. & Mrs. '55)—The Venus of India; heart-throb of all who saw her; responsible for the sexual awakening of every single desi lesbian I know (including me!) And my god, she is breathtakingly beautiful. Look at the subtle grace with which she moves, and that smile - the kind of radiant smile that can make you laugh with sheer delight, or cry because of its hidden pain. Those wild curls! That Cupid's bow! The way she tilts back her head and smiles at you with mischief dancing in her eyes! She has a way of looking at the camera that makes you feel she's sharing a private joke just with you; it's something about that quizzical twist of the lips and eyebrows. As an actress, she is inimitable; she seems to effortlessly inhabit roles ranging from a heart-broken courtesan to a laughter-loving socialite. Fun fact : she's had quite the fan following in Greece! Stelios Kazantidis even wrote a song as a tribute to her.
Yvette Vickers (Sunset Boulevard)—She’s a beautiful woman who was in small roles in good movies and bigger roles in terrible movies with bad management who died alone in her home in Beverly Hills and is known more for her lonely decline than the movie she starred in.
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Remembering Jiah Khan on her 10th Death Anniversary, a Young Actress Who Passed Away at the Age of 25

Summary: On the 10th death anniversary of Jiah Khan, a beloved Bollywood actress, here is a glimpse into her prolific career in the film industry from inception.
Jiah Khan changed her name to Nafisa Khan after Gia, a movie starring Angelina Jolie (1998). The actress was born on 20 February 1988 to her parents Rabiya Amin, a yesteryear Bollywood actress known for her role in Dulha Bikta Hai by Tahir Husain, and Ali Rizvi Khan. She studied in New York at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts after getting done with A-levels in film studies and literature in London. But soon she quit her studies in between on receiving an offer for a film from Mumbai.
She was 16 when Mahesh Bhatt offered her the lead role in 2004 for Tumsa Nahin Dekha. But Jiah backed out from the role as she felt the character was too mature for her. Thereafter she starred in Nishabd, her Bollywood debut in 2007, which was a controversial film for its storyline of an older man falling for a young girl, despite being married. The movie was directed by Ram Gopal Verma, and Amitabh Bachchan played her love interest.
The plot of an illicit affair was compared to the Hollywood classic Lolita of 1962. However, the character portrayal by Jiah Khan seemed genuine as she exuded attitude, confidence, and sex appeal. For this, she even was nominated for her performance as the ‘Best Debutant’. Then she landed with Ghajini in 2008, which was a super hit movie starring Amir Khan. The movie was a remake of a 2005 film by A R Murugadoss, of the same name, which had the actor Surya of the fame 'Raktha Charitra'.
Before the release of Ghajini, there were rumors that Jiah Khan is the step-sister of Amir Khan, as the latter’s father had worked in Dulha Bikta Hai with Rabiya, Jiah’s mother. But the rumors were ended after clarification. Then the actress moved on to Chance Pe Dance by Ken Ghosh in 2010. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor. She was then replaced by Genelia D’Souza after shooting a good number of scenes for the project.
However, she starred in Housefull, a hit comedy film in the same year. Jiah Khan was the supporting actress in Housefull, which contained a huge star cast. Sajid Khan was the director of the movie. The film starred big names such as Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, and Lara Dutta. Here, Jiah did the role of Akshay’s wife. But the film, unfortunately, remained the last one where Jiah was seen on the big screen. Because on 3 June 2013, the actress reportedly died of suicide and was found dead in Juhu, Mumbai, in her flat. She was found hanging and a suicide note was recovered after a probe by CBI. Jiah was too young at that time and passed away at the tender age of 25.
