Also sold at this market...and lots of places actually is this... thing, I don't know how to call it in any language, that they make here where they put a walnut inside a dried fruit like a date or a fig. I think the acid of the walnut does something to the fruit and it is just... simply the best candy (and it is candy) that you will ever eat

Ex-presidente da Associação dos Comerciantes do Porto condenado por fraude

O ex-presidente da Associação dos Comerciantes do Porto, Nuno Camilo, e a antiga tesoureira foram condenados a dois anos de prisão, suspensa na sua execução, por fraude na obtenção de subsídio, adiantou este domingo a Procuradoria-Geral Regional do Porto.

Além da pena suspensa, Nuno Camilo, que assumiu a presidência da associação entre 2009 e 2018, e a antiga tesoureira foram ainda condenados ao pagamento de uma multa ao Estado de 164 mil euros, valor do subsídio fraudulentamente concedido, e a publicarem, a suas expensas, a sentença num jornal editado no Porto, referiu a procuradoria.

Na sua página oficial de Internet, a procuradoria revelou ainda que o Tribunal do Bolhão, no Porto, condenou a Associação dos Comerciantes do Porto ao pagamento de uma multa de 1.500 euros.

O tribunal considerou provado que a associação, entre 2009 e 2010 através do então presidente e tesoureira, candidatou-se a um programa de incentivo ModCom (Modernização do Comércio), promovido pela Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação (IAPMEI) para ações de animação sociocultural, alegando um investimento de 399 mil euros, sabendo que não dispunha de capacidade financeira para cumprir com a obrigação de suportar 40% do capital do projeto.

"Para ficcionar o investimento e esgotar os montantes elegíveis, os arguidos serviram-se de uma sociedade que constituíram para esse fim, através da qual empolaram os valores faturados, criando um circuito documental e financeiro entre as duas (associação e sociedade) que depois apresentaram como justificativo de despesa, obtendo o pagamento das respetivas prestações do projeto como se, efetivamente, tivessem suportado a parte que à associação cabia", explicou a procuradoria.
