nerd!satoru who yaps nonstop about the multiverse while you’re just trying to eat your lunch, waving his hands around dramatically as he explains the concept of alternate dimensions with half a rice ball in his mouth and crumbs stuck to the corner of his lips. who pokes at his food with a mechanical pencil because he forgot his chopsticks again, and then insists with wide eyes and a mouth half full, “technically, pencils are just wooden utensils for intellectuals.” he gets giddy over a new graphing calculator update like it’s a new iphone drop, tapping the screen like it’s a baby animal, and once dragged you into a 40-minute rant about ant communication hierarchies while you were just brushing your teeth, half-asleep and mouth foaming with toothpaste.

he has no less than ten tabs open at all times—reddit conspiracy theories, physics forums, a paused youtube video on quantum tunneling, a spreadsheet titled “do cats defy newton’s laws?”, a google doc labeled “reasons why kissing might be a form of molecular alignment,” and none of it has anything to do with the assignment he’s supposed to be doing. he zones out during lectures, doodling black hole spirals, equations shaped like hearts, and cats in lab coats in the margins of his notes. once, he drew you holding hands with a worm in a bowtie and captioned it “me and my universe.” somehow still manages to get top marks every single time, even though he once turned in an assignment with a greasy fry stain in the corner because he used it as a napkin in the library mid-cram session.

he mutters the weirdest things under his breath like “i feel like a misaligned proton today” or “the moon’s energy was too sarcastic last night” and you just blink at him like🧍‍♀️while sipping your drink. he wears mismatched socks on purpose and says, “it’s a metaphor for duality.” has five alarms labeled “wake up genius,” “ur gonna flunk,” “your girlfriend will leave you,” “pls satoru,” and “EMERGENCY: CUTE, PRETTY AND SCORCHINGLY HOT GIRL WAITING” and still manages to sleep through all of them unless you call him. his glasses? perpetually smudged, held together with washi tape. his notebooks? an unholy fusion of complicated theorems, grocery lists, pressed flowers, cat doodles, love notes to you, and a page just titled “top 10 reasons why my girlfriend is cuter than entropy.”

his laptop is a biohazard—dusty, overworked, full of files like “time_is_an_illusion_final_FINAL_reallyfinal_actuallyfinal.pptx” and “uRwrong_iMright.docx.” the case is covered in anime stickers, tiny equations, stars drawn with glitter pen, and a wrinkled polaroid of you sticking your tongue out that he keeps taped on like it’s a sacred relic. he listens to lo-fi while studying and pauses every few minutes just to sigh dreamily and whisper, “this part sounds like you looking at me for the first time.”

and yet… he’s so fine it’s borderline illegal. tall, messy white hair that sticks up in all directions and defies every known force of nature, ice-blue eyes that melt when they look at you, and a cocky little smile that makes your chest hurt even when he says things like, “do you think our cells are spiritually linked?” he doesn’t even try to be charming—he just is, like he spawned with a flirt trait.

you fw it. you fw him. every unfiltered ramble, every hyperactive explanation about wormholes or why he thinks bees are secretly time travelers. the way his voice speeds up when he’s excited, and how his hands start waving like he’s conducting an invisible orchestra of nerdiness. you don’t even bother trying to follow every word—you’re just watching him, heart doing somersaults, because he’s so beautiful when he’s passionate. and the fact that you never laugh at him? only ever smile and let him go on? yeah. that cracked his emotional firewall a long time ago.

so now he’s all sunshine and sparkles around you. a literal bundle of joy. grinning at his phone like a middle schooler when you text him “lol ok.” kicking his feet while giggling, voice memos full of stuff like “what if we held hands inside a particle accelerator 😳👉👈” sent at 2:13 a.m., followed by three minutes of him wheezing into a pillow. he calls you his “favorite constant,” even if you don’t get the joke. and if you do? he twirls his hair, blushes, and stares at you like you just split the atom and made it cute.

he makes playlists named “gravity got nothing on how hard i fell for you,” draws you in lab coats saying “ur the thesis to my hypothesis,” keeps your photo in his pencil case and shows it to random people like “this is my girlfriend. she understands my quantum jokes.” if they blink weirdly, he’ll just smile and say, “it’s okay, not everyone gets theoretical perfection.”

being loved by you makes him goo. makes his neurons do the macarena. you make all his bizarre little pieces light up like neon signs. you walked into his strange little world and said “yeah, i’ll stay,” and now he’s rearranging every cosmic thread to make sure it’s perfect for you. adds fairy lights. labels his notebooks “our theories.” buys matching pens. you made his chaos feel like a cozy little planet. he buys you plushies shaped like atoms and puts your name in the acknowledgements of his lab reports. tells people “she’s the reason the data graphs came out prettier.”

Ever since we first started talking about Epic the Musical, I've genuinely enjoyed talking to you. Hearing you yap about Epic, Pikmin and Pressure is always fun, and I've enjoyed watching Epic animatics and Pikmin icebergs with you. Also, listening to the Ithaca Arc with you and the others was so fun! I genuinely can't imagine a better way to finish off the Musical than by listening to it with you!

Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem shiny review, please?

Reshiram: First, Shiny Reshiram swaps its blue eyes for red as an inverse of Zekrom, which I think is a nice touch. It also adds some gold rings to its design, which works well enough. Gold feels like a good color choice, as it's both light in color and kind of regal-looking, even if there's not much rationale beyond that.

However, I do take one issue with the rings: it's hard to tell, but the original sprite uses two "shades of white"—one pure and one blue-tinted. Despite this, the shiny only changes some of these areas, while leaving the claws blue-tinted still. Why not change them too? And if you're not going to follow the original colors, you could add even more gold—maybe to the top of the head, for instance (see above edit). I say this because Shiny Reshiram is different enough from the original, but it could be pushed a little more than it is.

It's also worth noting that shiny Reshiram's fire is magenta instead of orange. This is a good swap, but I can't give it too many points for this as it's only visible in its animations.

Zekrom: Zekrom's shiny is pretty mid, mostly just because it's way too similar to the original, much more so than Reshiram. It does the same eye swap as Reshiram (love the consistency and concept there) and the teeny tiny bit of color on the end of its head changes to green, but otherwise it just gets a slightly bluish tint that could easily be mistaken for lighting.

Seeing as they added gold to Reshiram, why not do it to Zekrom too? Like, make all of the dark black parts of its body gold or something. It would probably look neat, and at the very least it would stand out. Once again, you could also make the shiny white—but that might be too confusing.

Shiny Zekrom has green glowing parts instead of blue. Once again, good swap, but mostly only visible in the animations.

Kyurem: I think they were try to push the black/white concept by making shiny Kyurem darker and making the ice parts lighter. This is great in theory—but if that's the case, they should've exaggerated the contrast more and reduce the blue tint, as it's hard to tell if that was even intentional or not (probably not—the original sprite shiny has the ice even more blue). Beyond that, it's better than Zekrom, but not as noticeable as Reshiram. The magenta on the head is fine, but it feels a little redundant with Reshiram's shiny—maybe grey or red would've made more sense.

Black Kyurem: Questions about if shiny Kyurem makes Zekrom shiny when they fuse aside, this one's fine. It just needs to be a fusion of both shinies, which it is—it has Kyurem's darker body color, pink head stripe, and whiter ice, and Zekrom's green body glow.

It's not super different than the original, but that's more of a fault of the two shinies its made of than anything.

White Kyurem: For some reason, white Kyurem suddenly chucks consistency out of the window. Not only does it lack the gold accents of shiny Reshiram, but it also keeps the orange fire instead of making it magenta, leaving only Kyurem's parts as shiny.

I know I was joking about Zekrom becoming shiny above, but at least keep it consistent between the two of them!

Overall: Kind of just okay shinies all around. Reshiram's gold rings are the best of the bunch, but it could've had more changes made to it. White Kyurem is also woefully inconsistent.

Happy 1 week anniversary of Jurassic World Chaos Theory Season 2!

It's once again time for my personal curated playlist of songs I listened to while storyboarding or thinking about this season, in episode order!

Once again, some songs I feel are character specific, others can also work for multiple episodes or the season overall.

I had to open the playlist with Carry On Wayward Son after seeing we opened with a season recap (if you know you know). But also kinda fitting actually LOL

Mansana Blues and Dioungo are songs from a Senegalese/blues fusion album I discovered and I honestly recommend the entire album, it's fantastic (It's just called Mansana Blues)

A Forest is actually a song I almost included in my season 1 playlist, but I just couldn't find a place where it flowed with the other songs (without giving some episodes like 3 different songs) so I moved it here instead haha

I listened to the Starcrawler cover of Pet Semetary on loop so much while thinking about Brooklynn

Burning Down the House was actually temp music that used to play in the scene with the DLN where Brooklynn is talking to Ronnie in the car

I also switched back and forth a lot between the Reanimator Theme (Dr. Sarr haha), Fiction (poor Kenji and Darius), and Inferno Galore while working on 19- there was always definite tone shift when they get down into the lab in my mind

Numb - saved the best Brooklynn song this season for last

Overall my favorite songs on this list are Pet Semetary, Body, Numb, Pretty Lies, and Red Right Hand.

NEW CHAPTER COVER OMFG I LOVE THE LOOK OF IT SO MUCH I NEED IT AS A POSTER RN

Okay now I have small theory/yapping time-

I think that this is a reference for the phrase “if all the world’s a stage…” and Jekyll (if that is Jekyll which I’ll talk about in a second) isn’t actually on a stage, but on the Society’s rooftop, dancing in front of the patrons, unapologetically himself. I don’t know, maybe I’m grasping for straws here, but I know Sage tends to draw the London roofs as having little spiky guys, it looks like a blue morning sky, and it feels like this chapter might involve actual self acceptance since Hyde’s got the ball rolling.

It’s also that it feels super whimsical, like they’ll be having more of a manic way of figuring themselves out together here rather than a smooth transition. Who knows, maybe they get carried away and make an event of themselves for the town, more specifically the patrons for whatever reason. I’m sure it would hurt the Society, since Jekyll wasn’t incorrect in saying his reputation was vital to its survival. (See the angry mob outside.)

More likely, it’s the two of them coming together to mend and dance gracefully around the issue of the Society in London in order to save it. They smooth talk their way through things to gain support again, especially through their highly regarded patrons, which saw the incredible advancements and work the building cultivates. (Showcasing that, yes, the Society does deserve its spot in London, even with the fire as a result of one of their scientists.)

In any case, this part is more wishful thinking rather than an evidence-based theory, but- let me give some context first. My partner (@squoble-reign) and I have a roleplay involving Steven Universe, Connie Maheswaran, and Karma Pines (their OC) being pulled back through time into when TGS takes place. Long story short, Jekyll and Hyde “fuse” occasionally into Captain Louis, an identity formed by both of them controlling the body at the same time. (Named after the title of a pirate, such is the theme of their favorite book Treasure Island. And then taken from “Robert Louis Stevenson” for plot reasons, lol.) Louis is made up of both personalities, so he’s mostly characterized by being good-natured, playful, and just as intelligent and athletic as ever. He’s a very easy-going character as a result of self-acceptance, but because of how unstable the canon two still are, that’s why they’ll be more manic/erratic in their behavior. But the point is, both me and my partner literally went “OH MY GOD LOUIS??” When we saw the cover, so needless to say, we’re praying for a “fusion.” ^^;

Deltarune Spoilers, text, Chapter 3&4 theory about the prophecy.

Ralsei knows a lot about what's going on, but he doesn't know everything, so not everything he says about the prophecy is 100% accurate.

I think the game's narrative already strayed from the Prophecy's path back in Chapter 1.

The prophecy doesn't change, (and may have even played out before? Earth still exists so...) but the specific characters in the roles of "A Human, a Monster, and a Prince from the Dark" are already wrong.

Noelle was supposed to be the Monster, the Girl with hope crossed on her heart.

Susie showed up late that day. Alphys's decision to send Kris with Susie to go get the chalk is how Susie ends up in Ralsei's dark world, even though Noelle had volunteered to go get that chalk.

Noelle's offer was overridden. She's an extreme doormat that needs her confidence boosted to really be herself and go for what she wants in life. Her hopes are "crossed", as in "star-crossed", as in doomed. It seems like everyone is against her, except maybe her father (who is also a bit doormat-y, previously being second banana to wishy-washy Asgore (who brings him flowers daily) and having a powerful wife who never seems to visit, encouraging Noelle to cut said powerful wife some slack despite never being repaid the favor, paralleling Noelle's future abusers, the Queen and Kris) and, of course, Susie, who "spared" Noelle her wrath when Noelle gave her... a pencil.

In Chapter 2's normal route, we gradually build up Noelle's confidence, and she eventually stands up for herself against Queen, who wanted to use her to open new Dark Fountains (as any determined Lightner can). Noelle seems genuinely surprised that Queen actually had her happiness in mind despite going the wrong way about it, and surprised that Queen apologizes. It likely gives her hope about others who would use and abuse her, but after the fountain is closed, she, sadly, easily dismisses it as a dream (her hope is crossed).

We, as the player, are told that our choices don't matter and that the game has only one ending, but in the Weird Route, we break that rule by forcing our choices on Noelle, who goes with it because of the aforementioned doormat tendencies and the trust built up with Kris from years of familiarity.

Kris, who is our "cage" and fights the Weird Route as much as they're physically able. In normal play, Kris warms up to Susie completely by Chapter 3 and feels free to get silly with her in Chapter 4. The two of them also appreciate both Ralsei, and a different Prince from the Dark, Lancer- emphasizing the presence of more potential alternates to the Prophecy.

By taking the Weird Route, the Player enforces the actual Prophecy, going out of your way to get Noelle in your party and shape her to your will, using and abusing both her and Kris.

It's a human Soul-heart shape that appears on the Prophecy's image of "The Girl", and she is seen wielding a sword. You get a sword from Noelle's homework desk in the form of... a Pencil.

I think the pane of the Prophecy that Susie punched out involves the same monster/human fusion we saw referenced offscreen in Undertale. The monster girl kills the human (taking a Level of Violence or Lv/Love), takes the Soul for herself, and becomes stronger, using that combined power to seal the Roaring Knight away (possibly underground, possibly with a Barrier), or permanently destroy them (depending on whether the prophecy has happened before and the cycle repeats- it could be Sonic Unleashed rules, we don't know yet).

The future of the Weird Route involves cutting out others who would use Noelle for their own ends. After Chapter 2's Snowgrave bit, in the hospital we can see a blue bead has been broken off of the bead labyrinth toy in the waiting room, signifying Berdley's exit from the narrative, regardless of whether he's dead, comatose, or Fallen Down (which happens to Monsters who lose Hope and their will to live, and precedes turning into Dust, but I don't know if that applies to Berdley or if he's Frozen Dust or what).

As for Susie's blood vs Monster Dust. While it's true that Determination usually has very bad implications for Monsters (re:Undyne the Undying in Undertale's Genocide Route and the Amalgamations), Susie believes that "everyone bleeds" in chapter 1, and she has enough determination to open a Dark Fountain in Chapter 4 without those same problems.

Sans also bleeds in the Genocide Route, after taking his one fatal hit. Here's the thing about Determination though- Undyne was "Undying"- she leaned on determination After her fatal hit and got melty because she was already becoming dust. Alphys's determination experiments were on monsters who had Fallen Down, already sick and dying, and they melted, and could only be stabilized by fusing with each other. Flowey came into being because Asriel's dust, Alphys's determination experiment, and potentially something left over from Chara allowed him enough Determination to utilize the game's Save System (like a Human Player is meant to).

(The Deltarune Save File is in Kris's name when we start the game. They used to have that control, but we, the Human Player, take it from them. Kris is also shown to be determined enough to open a Dark Fountain outside of our control. We're told that Any Lightner can do it, but I doubt Noelle could have when Queen called on her to do it, and Berdley was stopped before he could try.)

Sans had blood because he was determined to stop you, and his foreknowledge of save states/game mechanics kept him alive despite his low Hope/low defense stat (mentioned by Papyrus? Or was that fanon, I forget). He doesn't resist death after the fatal blow, so he doesn't melt, exactly, but he does visibly sweat.

Susie has blood because she is both seriously Determined, and nowhere near Falling Down. Her reckless Hope is something that Ralsei compliments, and her determination is proven with the Dark Fountain. It's her idea that allows us to defeat the Titan. She naturally has the highest Health and Attack power in the party, and she's even getting better and better at Magic. She has the power to wrestle the narrative from the Knight's cold dead hands and Kris seems to be all for it!

It's just a matter of whether or not that Prophecy can be changed to allow it...

Or did the Prophecy ever apply for Susie at all?

TLDR: Noelle was supposed to be one of the big three, but Susie defied fate and is becoming the Chosen One. The Prophecy might actually be just a fairytale in the normal route. In the Snowgrave Route, the player enforces the Prophecy and follows it more closely, meant as a New Game+ like the Undertale Genocide Route.

(There's also the possibility of a Worlds/Girls slant rhyme in the prophecy panel that Susie broke. I doubt it? I'm sure there's already a planned line there, but it would be so funny.)

So Scar is a vex hybrid, which is slightly different than the vex mob itself. Sort of a fusion of the magic vexes utilize into a person. Scar doesn’t know a whole lot about vex hybrids and their origins to be honest. He and Cub grew up away from other vexes and around friendlier folk like the Hermits.

So vexes definitely have a negative connotation. But not on Hermitcraft. This is a new experience for Scar— to be feared and hunted.

Noticeable vex features are pointed ears, spectral wings, and a devilish tail. However, the latter two can be hidden and summoned at will. They’re sort of semi-corporeal, only as physical as the user chooses. Scar can use them to glide, much like an elytra, but they’re not strong enough to straight up fly. However, he can use magic alongside them to sort of hover, which helps a lot with his mobility issues.

But his wings are bright and noticeable. He can’t lean on that and he doesn’t have a cane, so flare ups are inevitable here. And won’t be pretty!

Ange is going to get into it, but Scar’s wings are actually in tatters now due to some unfortunate circumstances. They are capable of pain, and it certainly doesn’t make gliding easy, but it’s truthfully the magic that makes any kind of flight possible, so in theory they are still usable. But ouch.

Other vex features are claws and fangs because why not. Claws can be extended and retracted at will.

I write vex magic to be very emotionally volatile because 1. It’s fun and 2. I think vexes normally operate on primarily negative emotions. Cub, a very reserved person, doesn’t need to worry about that getting out of control. And Scar, a very positive person, doesn’t either.

Until now of course. Positive emotion can make him powerful as well, but in order to survive here, Scar’s going to need to learn how to make use of his negative emotions as well.

When overcome with emotions, Scar’s eyes may shine bright blue or even entirely white. He lashes out at everyone and everything except for Grian, because, luckily, his protective instincts are just as strong as his vex instincts. He can also seemingly rapidly heal in this state, but it leaves intense scarring. Interesting. 🤔

Another thing to consider— vexes, the mob, disappear after a certain time when summoned. I interpret it as using up their allotted magic and vanishing. If a vex hybrid overuses their magic… there can be consequences. :)

Eternity for Two (Sirius' Eternal Gaze analysis)

(Blue Bouquet voice drama ep 2 spoilers!)

LYRICS

Sirius is a binary star, just like how Louter is described in his character description. This star is what represents both of the Stella twins.

One star shines brighter than the other, which is a lot smaller in size. Louter is the smaller star, being worn out after draining his magic to protect the kingdom in ep 2.

The song is a love letter of comfort to Louter. Louter pushes himself too much to prevent change, and Klark only wishes to see him happy again, making a promise that they'll always be together in the future, even in "eternity".

In ep 2, Klark mentions that he and Louter got close only recently, when Kiki and Lala took them in. Alternate translations for the 2nd pic are "I want my heart to reach you/I want my heart to feel touched". Klark still doesn't completely understand Louter, and after the Seed conflict, they agree to start over again, even if it takes long for the two of them to learn to trust each other fully.

Louter isolates himself to keep up the barrier to protect the kingdom, but in doing so, he created another barrier keeping people from getting close with him. He doesn't realize that he's already surrounded by people who love him like Klark and all the citizens. Despite everything, the Sirius still shines bright with love. Through sadness, Louter is still filled with light.

The twins created a secret world all to themselves, one where they can just be one with each other (fusion theory coping).

Mobius strips repersent infinity and unity, but it can also show feeling trapped and losing control. Change, what Louter fears most, is something that you can never escape. It's a rocky road filled with uncertainty, but Klark will be there with him through it no matter what happens.

MV / BONUS

For majority of the song, everyone sings with gears in the background. They're inside the clock, which ticks quickly. Klark wishes to speed up time so he and Louter can find happiness quicker, but it would be better to take his time and enjoy every moment they have together, and the clock slows back down before stopping at midnight.

The Gemini constellation (close to it at least) is seen glowing twice. It would be obvious to make this the symbol for the Stella twins but it's Not (I think) and Sirius is in a separate constellation (Canis Major) so idk what to do with this yet

This is the part where Klark sings "Using your favorite paints, adding more color, the two of us in the galaxy you've drawn". Louter gave Klark color in life and is the only person Klark can be soft around 🥹

Hi !!! Sorry for the late reply, I've been very busy these past few months :'D I'm happy that you like my way of rendering hair omg !! Yes of course I can show how I do it ! Also, don't take it as an artistic fact, I'm only explaining my personal process of rendering !! Maybe this technique will suit you, or maybe it won't.

Forgive me in advance for my potential grammar mistakes, English isn't my native language :')

Okay, let's get started !!

Tbh, it's many trials and errors XD But something I've been doing for a year is playing with colors to set an ambiance you want to convey in your drawing. Look, I'm not a pro at color theory but I often do color combinations such as orange/blue, yellow/purple (one color for lightings, one color for shadows), they work super well together !

It's a lot to take in ;v; But hear me out, what I'm saying is important for the rendering !

The first step is to color the hair (the whole character in fact) with a base color. Here's what I did for this drawing (the quality is horrible sorry ;-;).

Then, I add a layer above the base colors and set this one to "multiply" (it's a fusion mod that will darken your drawing). You either choose a blue color or purple for the multiply layer (or any other color tbh but I'm still not too familiar with color theory). What's important is to make this color fit with the other color you'll choose for the lighting at a later step. Personally, I chose a dark blue for the multiply layer.

After that, I add another layer and set it to "overlay". Personally, I set the opacity quite low for this layer in order to give the drawing a softer look. Here comes the color combination ! If you chose blue as the shadows on the previous layer, you pick orange for this layer. Then, you pick a blurry brush (I don't know how it's named in English, maybe a soft brush...?) and brush the area where the light comes from. You can also erase some areas where it would be "logical" to have shadows, like what I did above Link's eyebrow, the back of his head, and his hair near his chin. The eraser step is there to add extra details and give your drawing a little more depth.

Then !!! You add yet another layer above the previous one and leave it at "normal" mod. It's on this layer that I start rendering ! So what I do is, I take a brush with soft edges, like this one. You can use any brush, really !

There are different colors between the shadow area and the light area as you can see on the previous pic. I color pick the different colors between those two areas and make strokes, just like this.

I pick a color on the drawing, I make a stroke, I pick another color, I make another stroke and so on.

Then, I add another layer which I set on "overlay" mod and use the color blue for the opposite area of the orange light from a previous layer.

Then, on the same "overlay" layer, I pick orange again and I use my soft brush on the area where it's the most likely to recieve the strongest light. The color orange will appear stronger and more vivid.

Then I add a last layer for adding details like strokes of hair with a flat brush. I'm adding so many layers at this point lol, forgive me :')

My Xisuma gemcyt design on a sheet. Originally I was gonna have both him and Evil X in one post but I had too many thoughts.

the whole gemcyt au got kicked off by @chrisrin so make sure to check out their stuff and all the stuff they reblogged if you haven't already.

Alright. Originally I had just been searching for gems to be potentially fusions as I was planning to do a ZIT and/or ZITS fusion, then noticed that tango and impulse don't have a fusion yet. (tango and skizz don't either, and there's no ITS yet, but whatever)

I was scrolling through potential gems and stumbled upon the existence of purpurite. And there's all the theories of Xisuma being a voidwalker or something and having the mask bc end air is thinner and the overworld atmosphere is too thick, etc etc. But like! Purpurite like how there's purpur blocks in the end. And xisuma's two main colors are purple and green and purpurite is apparently purple and green! I had to make him as a purpurite!

His outfit is trying to adapt his skin/the doomguy armor into a gem style. Xisuma himself is essentially shaped based on Holly Blue Agate since that or jadeite seemed like the most similar gem (ish), and i couldn't see him looking like a jade. Also there was another agate on the show that looked more like the various jaspers that had been corrupted, so there is variety in shape anyway!

I almost have him green spot markings, but they just never looked good, so he doesn't have them. Maybe I'd try again to try and match with Evil X's markings, but maybe the opposites are fine.

Instead of a regular gem weapon, he has a mask. And while it was never confirmed, the main theory about Garnet's glasses is that they're Sapphire's 'weapon'. Plus, Jasper had a helmet, so straight up weapon isn't necessary. I'm planning to do an extra sheet for both of the 'sumas, and for Xisuma it will probably show how he emotes even with him wearing the mask 24/7. If you've seen the Fool's Gold series by Dingodoodles, I imagine it vaguely similar to how Gothi emotes.

And finally, the x's. Like, the x shaped on his outfit/form/whatever. I have it similar to how Rose has the star around her gem. It's just that X has an x around his gem as a cutout from his cuff glove bracer thing. Originally, it was just that his backside felt empty and I wanted something there, so I put another x on the back, but then I got ideas and now there is a very good reason why he also has one there. But I'm not covering that here.

And the actual last part is that the sheet mentions its from Cabochon Cut. I'm actually working on a one shot under that title that I will hopefully post tomorrow. Hopefully. We'll see.

Tonantzin Guadalupe 🌵🌹

The original \/u| \//\ goddess I created in 2013 is Maria Rosa. Her design was inspired in major part between the miracle of La Virgen de Guadalupe and the concept of Mary Queen of Heaven.

I was recently commissioned to create a new (\/) Goddess inspired similarly between Guadalupe and Tonantzin by my chingona hermana Janet Bella Rosa who also knew Mi padrino Antonio 🙏 I felt his spirit guiding me to connect our visions! 💞

Tonantzin is an enduring Nahuatl title for the maternal aspect of any Aztec goddess, much like “Our Lady”, rather than the name of a particular goddess. I chose a blue background to parallel Her starry mantle of heaven and also represent Lake Texcoco since the eagle, snake, and cactus from its story of the founding of ancient Mexico there are present. 💙🌵 

Tonantzin in various forms is frequently depicted with eagle feet so I thought it appropriate to have the legendary golden eagle clutch the silvery moon below Her in place of Guadalupe’s cherub 🦅 🌙 Tonantzin is often known, by many names, to wear a skirt of snakes- the celestial Aztec earth mother Coatlicue’s particular name translates to “She of Snake Skirts”. So I couldn’t help but see the snake emerge from the opening in Her folds here. Frequently in Aztec art snakes emerging from or replacing body parts represents blood so I feel a menstrual element from how the snake manifested in this vision 🐍 🩸

Many believe that the apparition of La Virgen de Guadalupe on Tepeyac Hill unto St. Juan Diego, an Indigenous peasant originally named Cuauhtlatoatzin meaning “Talking Eagle”, was a vision of a new form of Tonantzin. Her local temple had formerly been on that very site, destroyed by conquistadors. When Cuauhtlatoatzin received these holy visions, the Goddess spoke to him not in Spanish but in his native Nahuatl language even though She identified Herself as The Virgin Mother of God. Even the Church documents testify that The Holy Mother assured him in his moment of doubt, in his Indigenous tongue, “Am I not here who am your Mother?” Indeed Tonantzin Coatlicue herself is said to have had her own divine conception via a feather 🪶 

The miraculous vision of Guadalupe that appeared upon Juan Diego/Talking Eagle’s tilma is often seen as a self portrait by Her and there are many analyses of the visual element’s encoding of Aztec symbolism. I took these theories and insights into consideration while creating this vision.

Even within the suppression of Spanish colonization ancient indigenous Mexican Curanderismo healing practices were able to persevere and often in the name of La Virgen de Guadalupe, under the protection of Her image.

And, in spite of quiet official church disapproval, the local parish priest will invite Indigenous ceremonial dancers to participate during the special December 11-12 mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe. Inside the church, for a few moments, Mayan copal will blend with European frankincense, quetzal feathers will dance on the air, and elders with bundles of aromatic rosemary plants will cleanse the People’s spirit. The two cultures, reconciled at this moment, acknowledge their bond of love for the Woman Who is Cloaked with the Sun; a bridge of Light between peoples.”

Stepping into her own kitchen wasn’t supposed to feel like a SAE mission. But Steph kept a flask of holy water and a crucifix in her Lululemon hip bag as she made her way over from the stairwell. The moment she made her presence known, she saw sickly green flames brighten to life in the blank sockets of Death’s skull face.

“Ah! Stephanie! So good of you to join us.” Death nodded his head politely and lifted a skeletal hand to tug at his black hood as though it were some sort of dapper hat. His upper-class London accent made the act feel less ridiculous and more like proper gentleman behavior.

“…Hi.” Steph was never going to get used to how terrifying it was to see green fire instead of eyeballs, especially since Death towered several feet over her and Matthew. Speaking of which… “I thought I heard Matthew’s voice.”

“He went downstairs,” a smooth voice chimed in from behind Death’s black robe. “With the other dude and the chick.”

Death snorted. “Eloquent and informative as ever.”

“She knows who I’m talking about! Now move your nonexistent ass; some of us are trying to work here!”

Steph saw a thick human arm swat at Death’s cloak, and the living personification of Famine stepped into Steph’s view.

Famine grinned at her with a very normal and healthy-looking human male face. Thank God. She would take his human form any day over the emaciated, decayed corpse that was his true form. Today, he was favoring a physique that had very broad shoulders and thick muscular biceps that strained against a baby blue shirt with some anime character imprinted on it. Matthew would surely know the show, but she did not. He had a round tan face with a salt and pepper beard and very mischievous eyes that were partially hidden behind thick black glasses. He eagerly held out one of her mixing bowls, which was filled near to the brim with something that smelled utterly delicious.

“I’m making snacks!”

“Thank you, Famine. That’s very sweet of you.” Steph couldn’t help but break into a smile. “Is this the same body you wore yesterday?”

Famine nodded vigorously. “Matt said we need to pick a body and stick with it. I like this one. Check out my GUNS!” He set the bowl down on the countertop beside him and flexed one of his thick arms at Steph.

Death scoffed. “Flesh is weak. Entropy is inevitable.”

“You’re just jealous because you can’t create anything other than the same lameo body you’ve had for centuries.”

“There’s nothing wrong with the way my human form looks. Not all of us are vain like you and Pestilence.”

“Excuse you?”

Steph jumped. A small, slender woman with incredibly pale skin and long black hair suddenly sat cross-legged at one of Steph’s kitchen bar chairs. She wore a shoulderless black halter dress that went down to the floor, to where Steph could see the tips of shiny Doc Martens peeking out. On her face, she wore black eyeliner to outline her light blue eyes, which were intensely focused on Famine. She looked completely human except for one small detail. She had long, razor-sharp silver claws instead of nails resting elegantly in her lap, like ten slim stiletto daggers just waiting to be thrown.

Death shook his bony head. “How many times have I told you not to scare our hosts like that? Don’t make me put a bell around your tiny neck!”

“Hmm, I’d like to see you try,” Pestilence yawned into the palm of her hand, her claws flexing across her face. They were filed into sharp points and caught the light in a terrifying way. “Sorry to bother you, Steph, but Matt was looking for you and said you needed to be on his call. He’s with the Vessel and Nikita.”

“The dude and the chick!” Famine shrugged. “I said that already.”

“You are useless,” Death groaned.

Oh. Right. Matthew had said he was going to call Jason today. She’d completely forgotten that was happening.
