Bloodlines 2 is going to fail by necessity because it's going to be painfully 2020s in design rather than the early 2000s the original one was. Y2K goth was so intrinsic to the original Bloodlines design and meanwhile Bloodlines 2 looks damn near exactly like Cyberpunk 2077, there's just less people walking around with visors for eyes. This is once again a bland soulless sequel that lacks the spirit of the original.

We got a first look at a Tremere character for Bloodlines 2! Considering she has a Turkish name I wonder if they merged any of Elif's story or role into her. She looks very different that's for sure and I like the researcher archetype for a Tremere!

Safia is the eager enthusiast, her attention caught by theories, facts, and the fascination of learning from both the old and the new. If the Court has questions, she is the one to find answers; her skill with thaumaturgy and her dogged research techniques have proven her worth to Seattle, no matter the current standing of her clan. Recently, she’s been investigating the city’s growing thin-blood population, a particular concern to the Court. However, her focus does tend to distract her from the more mundane world. You’ll probably find her in her lab or lost in a pile of books at the Wake the Dead coffee-bar.

Here’s a hot take prediction:

I think the new Bloodlines game is gonna be just fine. It’s not gonna set the world on fire, but it’s not gonna be the steaming pig shit a lot of nostalgia addicted fools make it out to be.

It will be pretty fun, powers are gonna be interesting, clothing will look cool, and a lot of stuff will have improved massively from last we’ve seen.

There will be plenty of newcomers to the series who will enjoy it, and the old heads will stay mad because “It’s not muh precious Bloodlines 1! How can I enjoy this if it’s not a direct carbon copy of the first game! Waaah!” And thus, YouTube will be flooded with more rage baiting grifter slop, along with at least ten new videos on how “Gaming Is Dead”. All because people can’t accept that time moves forward, with or without you.

Sweet fucking Lucifer, do I hate Gamers…
