Lonely Together

Whenever I was with someone

for a while

I ended up feeling lonely.

And it wasn't the good kind of loneliness

solitude

I was hurting.

I was bending under its weight

boneless

my soul weathering.

And not long after I would declare

despondent

I can't do this anymore,

I can't stand being lonely

together with you,

and I would break things up.

If I was to be in a prison

free at last

I'd rather it be in one of my own making.

Its walls raised by me,

decorated by the things I deemed proper.

What if I end up all alone, you ask,

what will happen to me?

I've never really needed anyone in particular

somebody to love.

What I always craved and still do is

a few good friends,

someone to

hold me every now and then,

and sporadically lovers,

people that come and then go,

to leave me blissfully alone.

i think? i had a blissful dream last night? maybe the fic contributed to it, but i was hanging out with my (theater but also just in general) friends and i don't know, it felt like it had a filter of just happiness and white?

im pretty happy about that, the feeling of being myself with my friends

So I had once this experience of sipping my tea just at a particular place and at a particular time which at that auspicious moment felt so blissful. Pity, the mind tried to repeat it, but there remained only the physical components - everything was there: the tea, the place, the time - yet that feeling of blissfulness was missing. Heart at times is wiser than the mind for it knows well that blissfulness, ecstasy, experiences are all nothing but divinely timed favours pouring from the heavens. We can have all the prerequisites in place and yet nothing will happen except for what has been destined to reach you - MAKTUB - it has been written...
