3 Developed Faces and poses.
For this set task, I decided on 3 main icons for the 80s, Bianca Jagger, David Bowie and Angelica Hustin. I really enjoyed creating these as I got to explore styles and creations while also experimenting with media. For Bianca I decided on the artist Robert Best and Jamie Lee Reardin, this experiment was my favourite one out of the three as I think the detail and texture came out amazing and looks like a perfect mix of the two. I used watercolours to create media into my face which is ny favourite technique as I feel I can get more detail and can layer if I need to. For my next one Anjelica, I decided on Blair Breitenstein and Melique Street designs. This one I don’t think I did so well in as I believe that it is more one sided of Blair’s and you can’t see much of the other artist used. I also struggled with face structure on this one and with red lips as Anjelica is known for her iconic red lippie. I also used watercolours for this one but u didn’t enjoy it that much. For my last one, David Bowie, He is more unique rather than generic looking, I decided to add the weird wonky neck from Jenny Walton’s work and use the face structure from Nastya Kuzmina. I enjoyed this one as I like making things look rather weird and I think that it fits perfectly with David Bowies vibe. I used pro markers to finalise this one and at first I thought I messed up as his skin turned quite yellow, But I think it soon blended out nicely. Overall I enjoyed making these pieces and I chose Bianca Jagger for my main focus.

after completing our research, we were now fully equipped to complete the next tasks ahead of us.
-
for this specific task we were asked to print out images of illustrations that we liked the best from our researched illustrators. we focused on faces because we had to take different elements from the illustrations and mash them up to create a unique face.
-
i found this to be enjoyable to complete because it was fun to take different parts from different art pieces and watch something totally new be created. we had to complete 3-4 of these, i completed 3.

-
this face has been developed from pablo lobato and blair breitenstein’s work. i took the facial and shoulder structure from lobato, as well as the hair and the hand. from breitenstein i took the eyes, the glasses, the nose and changed the hand to look more like hers.
-
to complete this face i used pro markers for the hair and the body, i then used watercolour paint for the face, the hand, the lips and the red detailing. for things like the black part of the glasses and the eyelashes i used a fineliner.
-

-
this face has been developed from pablo lobato, bob incorvaja and blair breitenstein’s work. i took the face shape, hair and neck from incorvaja, then i gave the male face lobato’s work and the female breitenstein’s. i kept the forehead the same as incorvaja’s art because i wanted it to look like they had masks on which i don’t think worked out too bad.
-
to complete these faces i used pro markers for the hair, the foreheads, the necks, the glasses, the eyes, the moustache and for labato’s lips. for the skin on the left side i used acrylic paint pens, for the blue i used a pro marker. for breitenstein’s lips i used watercolour. for thinner outlines i used a normal fineliner, for thicker ones i used a black acrylic paint pen. to write “love” on the necks i used a white gel pen.

-
this face has been developed from bob incorvaja and malik robert’s work. i used the whole of incorvaja’s work but worked in how roberts splits faces up. to achieve this i decided to use 2 different colour pens, black and blue. to make it more obvious that i had used robert’s work for this face i added in the blue and gold details, i tried to add the white necklace but it didn’t show up on the drawing very well.
-
to complete this face i used blue and black biro pens for everything, over the top i then used blue, gold and white acrylic paint pens.

here is a video of me presenting my Milan Fashion runaway by Valentino, who was heavily inspired by the 1970s golden age, and also dipped into the previous 60s and 80s era of Valentino’s, i picked this one out as it really intrigued me as i thought that all the other designers had gone a bit plain, but i enjoyed making this collage. In this piece i used two artists, Blair Breitenstein, Who uses Crayons and makes her faces quite dramatic, which is where i took inspiration from. And Johanna Goodman, Who uses collage and makes it funky with small body proportions like hands with a very funky pattern of clothing, i used parts of magazines to create my collage.
I think that this piece was tough but fun, i would do it again

Blair A Breitenstein
Blair A Breitensteins work is iconic. The illustration style is simple and messy but identifiable and iconic. I fell in love with her illustration style the minute i found it. She was a big inspiration for my work in previous units and i will always continue to follow her work. I revisited my notes and previous work inspired by her to give me further inspiration for my work this project. Her big eyes and fluffy illustrated hair are iconic.
Here is the illustration I created inspired by Blairs work. I really love the messy yet beautiful style of this illustration. I gave my work my own twist with the roses in the hair which were inspired from her illustration with the hair bows. I used a combination of crayons and coloured pencils to create this illustration. Heavier eye makeup could have looked more effective.

Jamie Lee Reardin x Blair Breitenstein
I chose these illustrators as I liked aspects of both illustrations, I merged these pieces specifically as they have the focus of the eyes and long eyelashes and thought that they complimented each other and that they would merge well together.
I enjoyed illustrating this piece as I could experiment with once specific bright colour, I also really like the final outcome of this piece.

My current favourite illustrators that inspired me-
In my last two units i spent time researching different illustrators and styles. It took me weeks to find illustrators that really caught my interest. I revisited that research and found 3 illustrators that i found beautiful and inspiring. These really inspiring my new illustration style for this project. They inspired me to create a constant unique and identifiable style with my work.
The illustrators-
Blair A Breitenstein
Blair A Breitensteins work is iconic. The illustration style is simple and messy but identifiable and iconic. I fell in love with her illustration style the minute i found it. She was a big inspiration for my work in previous units and i will always continue to follow her work. I revisited my notes and previous work inspired by her to give me further inspiration for my work this unit. From examining her work i found to make my style identifiable and unique i must create distinct features for my illustrations.

Here is my first face illustration with the matching figure illustration. I am very happy with how these pieces turned out. I used the work of Blair A Breitenstein and Jessica bird as inspiration for this piece. I loved the shape merging with the head on one of Jessica birds illustrations so I incorporated this in my work with the red cherries but skin tone stalk blending into the face subtly. I then used Blair's face shape and lip shape as inspiration in my work. Again I love how this illustration turned out I really like this style created and the overall look of this face. I also love the figure illustration inspired by this piece and the position and body of the outlined figure.
