Granblue Fantasy Versus -Rising- Most Wanted Characters

Granblue Fantasy is a gacha game series published by Cygames, it had a fairly successful fighting game published by Arc System Works and now that game is getting a sequel. The series has a ton of characters would work perfectly as a fighting game character. The characters are original, flashy, and overall pretty fun. While Gacha's are just casinos in our pocket meant to fuck us over by getting us emotionally attached to a character, even I am only human and ya know enjoy GBF. So I wanted to go over the characters I want in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising most because well, any time they make a video game about these characters it's better then spending time playing the Casino game.

This list isn't in order, just 10 of my most wanted characters explaining a bit about who they are, why I like them and why I think they could be fun in a fighting game.

Silva

Silva feels like she would be the ultimate zoner. Her skills with the gun are on par with her girlfriend Song's skills with the bow and she is said to be one of the most powerful people in the whole world. She's a plucky adventure, she is popular, she has a full family of characters who could make cameos in her move sets and supers. I think she could work similarly to a character like Happy Chaos but with a much more down to earth flare then the wildness he brings to the table.

Lunalu

I think realistic Lunalu's chances are the lowest on this list but I think she would be so funny and if they are gonna put out a new joke character I think she would be the coolest character to use. Her ultimate could have her turn each individual character into a drawing for one of her romance manga's serving up exciting and well loved moments like Faust gives to Guilty Gear. Playstyle wise she could be a character who needs to gather resources to prepare to fight then unleash her fantasy form to fight like a top tier but only after spending some time as the worst character in the game. I really just think this manga artist is so good and she is like the only Harvin I really really like.

Ange

I mean any of the sapphic characters not already on this list or in the game could be in this slot but I just thin Ange deserves more love. Her fancy dual blades yet fencer fighting style could make for a very fun Mid Range style maybe with a tip mechanic like Marth from Smash Bros want to hit the foe at the right spot of your weapon to deal extra damage. Her whole thing in the game series is that she was to impress girls and be a dazzling prince for a princess. So I imagine there would be a fun flashy flare to every single attack like a rose petal effect.

Gold Knight aka Alliah

While main story characters are represented to some extent, these are mostly early story characters. Gold Knight has the honor of being a main baddy of the second arc and also being extremally important to the current arc. Gold Knight is extremal powerful and her ability to copy buffs, debuffs and do double supers really gives her such a wide range to pull from. She could be like a Seth from Street Fighter stealing some moves from other characters either in the game or not in it or she could be like a heavier argo character.

Makura

Makura is one of the Zodiacs, the most recent one representing the year of the rabbit. If I ever saw a rush down character, it be her, she looks utterly perfect for a hyper agro play style dashing in maybe having her rabbit friends provide her with ways of getting in against zoning.

[Note I wrote this before the new zodiac character was announced, I think she is a great choice for the game, sheep woulda been like my 3rd pick but a very strong 3rd.]

Apollina aka Black Knight and Orchid

Black Knight was basically the main direct Villain of the first arc of Granblue Fantasy, the Darth Vader to the actual main baddies Emperor. Orchid is always by her side and both characters are intertwined in such a way that I think it's better to do them together then apart. I think BK and Orchid could easily be a sort of "puppet" fighter with Orchid and Black Knight fighting together on the battlefield, Orchid setting up defensive options while BK is the offensive hand. Proper positioning of both units being needed to fully use the character.

Fediel

Fediel is the dark Advent Dragon and is one of the most popular characters in Granblue Fantasy. She was released after the polling for rising so who knows what that means for her chance to get in, they clearly preplanned a lot about the Advent Dragon Story, it's very possible they talked to Arcsys and knew they stuck gold handing them the character. Regardless she should get in. She has cool zombie dragon powers, she would play unlike most other characters could with only a few other characters having comparable skills. I think she would be an interesting status fighter using status's to move forward an advantage.

Meg

The queen of Summer, Meg is one of the most fun characters the team at Cygames has ever written. I think she would be an amazing mix of joke character and serious character in a way that so few other characters can really bring to the table. She is serious and badass in battle but she fighters with a shark for a hand and is kinda a silly goofy girl. She would have funny little intro lines about getting ready for another great summer only to go all killer mode during battle. It be amazing, fantastic, stupendous even. I think meg is a hyper close range rushdown type. I think she would have the closest range in the game but higher combo potential as a reward. Getting in is hard but if you get in you can touch of death way easier.

Nier

The Evokers have plenty of great candidates for a character and I would be happy with a lot of them but Nier for my money is maybe the most fun. She is a perfect candidate to play like phoenix from UMVC3. She could have a reviving from the dead mechanic that puts her into a wildly powerful mode but also have the smallest health bar, smallest defenses. It's easy for weak characters to touch of death her and out of rezed mode she would not be particularly strong but in rezed mode she would have the most damage and most speed in the game.

Tikoh

Tikoh is two souls in one body, a young girl who was fused into her and herself. The pair dealt with a shocking horrifying event for the general tone of the gacha and the plural vibes plus general personality of these two really drew me in. Tikoh is the coolest healer character they've ever made and I think they can really represent healers in a fun way by using Tikoh as a more aggressive but more sustainable fighter. Perhaps she can switch between modes like in GBF where in one mode she deals way less damage but her bar is constantly healing meaning if you can't get in your fucked and then having a damaging mode where she doesn't heal but trades that for fighting like a normal character.

Rather wish Gloria voiced by someone else like Miyuki Sawashiro. I feel her voiced suits her better seeing her splash art. Romi Park would be good too based on her voicing Black Knight in GBF.

You don't know what to say nor do when you saw clive crouching down as both of his hands are above joshua's shoulders. You knew he felt sadness, tears going down his right cheek. You wish you can do something for both Clive and Joshua but you don't want to leave him alone...

You frowned as you found a solution to fix this situation. But clive isn't going to like this at all... you would need to use all of your powers to bring Joshua back to alive.... You want to tell your romantic feelings to clive before sacrificing your life but you felt that he deserved better and hope for him to be happy again.... Losing his little brother and even his father...

Of course, you were a bit away from him, still looking at him with sadness in your eyes. You took a breathe to relax yourself and then walked towards them. As soon you were in front of them, you smiled and began to speak with clive.

"Clive, you don't need to suffer anymore. I'm going to do 'this' and you can finally end your revenge now...", you said as your soft voice made clive looked up to you. You walked away from clive and joshua. You assumed that joshua is an illusion but you weren't sure about it. You still continue walking away as clive called your name, trying to understand what's going on.

Once you have your own space, away from them as you were trying your best to not cry in front of clive. You spread your arms above you, hands trying to reach to something or someone...

Before clive could do anything, you used a bit of power to use your own domain to not let anyone get inside with you. Not letting anyone stopping you for doing something very dangerous and serious... your domain is so peaceful and quiet, purple with pink colors throughout the small space. You can say that there's a beautiful sky there... you began talking once again.

"Come forward, goddess of human ego! Please answer me, Elysia...!!", you screamed as your eyes are seeing the sky.

It only took a few seconds until the goddess, herself, appeared right in front of you. Floating softy and smiled warmly to you... her beautiful pink long hair, air blowing her hair softy and her outfit looks like wedding dress... with what looks like birds with wings around her... to you, she's the definition of a beautiful goddess.

You were about to say something but elysia interrupts you as she begins talking with you.

"(Y/N), it's been a while. How are you, my dear friend.", she giggled as you blushed a bit but nervously laughs as your arm are above your head, feeling silly of yourself.

"I'm doing well, thank you. I just want your help... please grant my wish, elysia!", you spoked in a hurry, knowing you don't have much time and want to stop the mysterious hooded- figure man who has been torturing your poor knight almost 13 years...

She giggles as she places her fingers in her lips and nodded. Agreeing with you and explains your wish.

"Alright then, I'll grant them. Tell me, what is your wish, (Y/N)"., she smiled as you took another breathe and gave her your serious face.

"I want you to bring back not only joshua back to alive but everyone else too. I feel they deserve another chance... another chance of living a peaceful life....", you said to her and she smiled again.

"Of course, my dear good friend. But you know that you'll have to die in order for that too happen right?", elysia spoke as she got worry about you, her concerned eyes as she saw your reaction to her words...

"I know, elysia.... but please do grant them! I want to save clive and everyone! Please!", you yelled a bit towards before apologizing your outburst to her. She smiled once again and nodded.

"Okay then. There's might be a chance for you to be reborn as your true self. Instead of what you look like right now. Please know that clive will still love and care for you despite your true self. You will still have your same voice and your personality which he loves, (Y/N)", she explains to you and you nodded slowly...

"I see... I wish I could've told him that I love him... but it's fine. I'll tell him when I'm back right?", you smiled with sadness in your eyes and elysia nodded again.

"Of course, you will tell him. Shall we begin?", she says to you and you nodded as you smirk at her, ready to save clive and everyone.

"Yes! Let's do this, Elysia! I'm going to save the earth, no, the whole universe too!", your hand reach for her and she gladly took her soft hand. Both you and elysia floated the beautiful sky together, her granting your wish and becomes as one with you. You having her outfit and ready to save your darling knight.

"Thank you, elysia... I won't forget this favor and never will forget you too. Wait for me, Clive... I'll save you!", you rushed high towards your domain, breaking them as you get out of there safely.

Meanwhile, clive was trying to save you as his sword hits the domain bubble, which fails miserably. Before he could do anything more, the domain bubble starts to break to pieces, seeing you above the sky and screamed your name. However, he noticed that the hooded- figure man is back and was able to fight him until he hears your soft voice which he loves do dearly...

"I'M GOING TO STOP YOU NOW! YOU WILL NOT HURT MY CLIVE ANY LONGER, YOU MONSTER! THIS REVENGE WILL END NOW!", you yelled loud as you could, raising your arm with your new arrow weapon appeared in your hand. Ready to shoot him down and you let go you arrow towards the mysterious hooded- man. Ending the life of that man, hoping to never see him ever again... you used all of your power to revive everyone back to alive and erasing all evil from here. You smiled as you saw that you completed your duty when you saw cute joshua in front of clive, confused on what's going on and asking where he is. Knowing that he's able to control his Phoenix eikon power now, you slowly floated to them, gaining their attention towards you. As soon as you landed safely to the ground, clive did not waste time rushing to you and hugging you tightly, telling you how much he loves you and not wanting you to leave him alone... you smiled as you hugged him too and told him your love to him. Hoping to accept you no matter what, which he wholeheartedly agrees and accepts you...

"Clive, my darling... I'll be back. Please wait for me. So we can be together forever and grow old too." You smiled happily as your lips pressed softly to his lips, him kissing back with so much passion and love.

As both of you pulled away a bit, you started to disappear in front of him and joshua. Clive's panic eyes and pain in his expression really did hurt you but you know you will be back. You will be reborn as your true self and your real name. Even though you don't like your birth name, you know your current name is fake. Your fake name will be gone and you'll be dead... You're glad that you were able to tell your true name to clive before dying. You just need to remind him that you will be back as soon as possible.

"DON'T GO, (Y/N)! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MY LOVE!", he says, as he began to sobs when he sees you disappearing more and more...

"I will be reborn as my true self. Not this form, clive... Will you still love me and accept me...?", you shyly smiled at him, clive nodded immediately and you grinned at him, happy to hear his answer. Erasing your insecurities of yourself.

You kissed him with all of your love, him and you kissing like crazy as stars started  to show up in the night sky. You will never forget this moment and you can't wait to see him again. Finally, you told clive and the adorable joshua that you loved them, cared for them and will be back.

"Goodbye, clive. My darling knight... Goodbye too, joshua. Please be safe so you can see me again.", you smiled at them as you finally disappeared in front of them. Not longer there anymore...

Clive goes down on the floor, his hands in there as he screamed loud as he could. Poor Joshua was crying, hoping for you to come back right away... he doesn't want you to be gone and doesn't like the pain his older brother is feeling right now.

Ultimately, both Clive and Joshua knew you were coming back and has to wait for you. They don't know how long nor when you will be back. They know you'll be here and they'll wait for you no matter how many days, months, years, or centuries it could be. Both of them stared towards the sky, praying to see you again...

No, I have not touched GBF in any capacity. I know it's one of the biggest mobage on the market though, like FGO.

Hmm...her voice sounds nice. But it takes a lot more than a voice to get me to like a character.

I remember getting Fire Drang quite early into playing Gbf and he quickly became the MVP of my fire team, ha ha

It's just a shame the game refuses to let you use him,Sturm, Orchis and the Black Knight early on in the main story quest

What are you most hyped about from the GBF anniversary announcements?

Gachapin being confirmed, as I like free rolls and getting things, and plan to roll for Hal & Mal and Lu Woh with enough rolls to split between both Galas.

Yamato and the new upgrades to Tier IV/EX-II jobs sounds all pretty bueno.

Black Knight's revamp has me banging my fists and hooting and hollering, as I love Black Knight, and giving her a modernized kit to work with more feasibly with Fediel and Lich absolutely rules.

I'm interested in the Evoker update but I'm generally iffy on that because KMR and FKHR have not provided Eternity Sands in a consistent enough manner to not come off as a shitshow, and I think their drop rate habits are comically low to an unncessary degree to keep whales entertained.

I guess the mass skips coming soon are cool.

I'd be hype for Galleon's skin if I had money.

I watched that demon slayer movie with my sister last month! the last movie i saw became my favorite movie! i watched it with @xx-moonluster-xx and @duelofai !

i had a lot of fun. Nausicaä's messages of decay and rebirth were so wonderful. also i love the gentle giant bugs and the extraordinary fantasy world they created (it was so beautiful and the OST is so good too)

otherwise, i've been rewatching FMAB in a group with 3 people after 12 years. it used to be my favorite series a long long time ago, so i'm really happy to watch it now that i'm older and understand the world from another perspective (and thus, understand and resonate with the grim reality this series often times presents)
