Synopsis

“Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. Mufasa: The Lion King (2024)

Mufasa: The Lion King has a few scenes with lightning strobes at varying severity. These flashes always happen during scenes when it is raining, so the rain works as a good warning that there may be flashes in this scene. The rest of the film has no strobe effects.

There are some high-speed chase scenes, including shaking POV shots, flying, and water-based peril. There is some action at extreme heights.

Flashing Lights: 4/10. Motion Sickness: 5/10.

Tiny Review: Mufasa: The Lion King 2024. Mufasa the no good dirty rat.

This isn’t a Mufasa the hero story. It’s a Mufasa the no good rat who did his bro dirty story...

From Taka’s POV, he saved this ungrateful orphan’s life, went against his own king father and made him a bro, let Mufasa win in a competition where Taka was the superior one, let his queen mother be a better mother to Mufasa than she was to him. And even when Mufasa took his love, Taka still took one for Mufasa and saved his life again. 

And his reward was to be branded and bandished as an outcast.... 😭

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film is photorealistically animated and serves as a prequel to The Lion King (2019). I watched "Bros" staring Billy Eichner and Luke MacFarlane, I really liked it. Good combination of humor/romance, it's been a while since I've watched a new lgbtq+ film. I've been going over ones I've already seen because I can't find new ones that peaks my interest - Trevor
