*slaps John Brady* this kid can fit so much trauma in him
“What happened?” Johnny asks.
Richie spits, hands on his hips and smug at knowing something the other boy didn’t, “They caught him with some fella from out of town.”
Johnny frowns at Billy Reilly again, who had fallen to his knees pleading with his father, watches the older man aim a kick at his son. The connection was hard enough it could be heard even from across the street
“You know,” Richie continues, “kissin’.”
“Kissing?” Johnny echoes, feeling something kick in his belly.
“Yeah, kissing.”
“What’re they gonna do to him?”
Richie spits again even though Johnny’s pretty sure the boy’s never tasted tobacco in his life, “Doesn’t matter does it? ‘S wrong. It’s a sin and he’s gonna go to hell my Ma says. Says he’ll never be welcome here again. Says he’s ruined his family’s reputation now.”
Johnny taps his fingers against his leg, counts out the bricks on the sidewalk in front of him, lips forming the words silently. He can still hear Billy Reilly sobbing because his life is over, his parents shouting and he can hear the condemning murmurs of the community around him.
“My dad says they oughta shoot him. Thats what he does with his dogs who come out wrong.”
Billy Reilly was only eighteen, he’d been a choir boy the first year Johnny had joined. Eighteen seemed very old, but not old enough to deserve to have his life ruined.
Johnny’s been lost in thought and memory and he nearly twists his ankle on a hole in the cobblestones, left there by some long ago bombing raid. Curt steadies him with a hand on the elbow, seemingly having been content to let his question hang.
“How drunk are you Lieutanant, huh?” He asks good natruedly.
“Not as much as I should be,” Brady sighs, tilting his head back and counting the stars through the gaps in the clouds. He pauses to consider Curt’s question once again, thinks of Billy Reilly who was forever eighteen in his memories.
“There can’t be happy endings for us, can there?”
Curt laughs, soft and quiet, shoves his hands in his pockets and bobs his head in a nod.
“What’s happy to you?” He asks, “Nothing bad ever happening?”

Nick Nolte in The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick, 1998)
Cast: Adrien Brody, Jim Caviezel, Ben Chaplin, George Clooney, John Cusack, Woody Harrelson, Jared Leto, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, John C. Reilly, John Travolta. Screenplay: Terrence Malick, based on a novel by James Jones. Cinematography: John Toll. Production design: Jack Fisk. Film editing: Leslie Jones, Saar Klein, Billy Weber. Music: Hanz Zimmer.
The Thin Red Line was much anticipated because it was Terrence Malick's return as a director after a 20-year absence, following the much-praised features Badlands (1973) and Days of Heaven (1978). But it had the misfortune to come out only a few months after Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, whose portrayal of the actuality of combat on D-Day and after was hailed as landmark filmmaking. There are those who think more highly of Malick's film: Spielberg's movie, they argue, is weakened by his desire to celebrate the courage of those who fought in World War II, resulting in the gratuitous frame-story about the aging Ryan's return to the cemetery in Normandy, as well as in some conventional war-movie plotting. Malick's movie is anything but conventional: the combat scenes are accompanied by a meditative, metaphysics-heavy commentary supposedly voiced by the combatants themselves. To my mind, this mixture of war-movie action and reflective voiceover doesn't work. For one thing, much of what's said in the commentary sounds like the kind of poetry I used to write in college. Malick certainly makes his point about the existential absurdity of war, but he makes it over and over and over, to the expense of developing human characters. Sean Penn's character seems to have been designed to be the movie's central consciousness, but much of that function in the story got lost in the editing: The original cut of the film was five hours long, so it had to be reduced to its current three-hour run time, along with much of the substance of Nick Nolte's blustering colonel, whose motivations are simply alluded to in the voiceover and some of his dialogue. The editing also eliminated the performances of such major film actors as Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Sheen, Viggo Mortensen, Gary Oldman, and Mickey Rourke, while for some reason retaining the rather pointless cameos by George Clooney and John Travolta. The movie was nominated for seven Oscars, including best picture, but received none. It may, however, have siphoned away some votes from Saving Private Ryan, allowing Shakespeare in Love (John Madden, 1989) to emerge as the surprise and still very controversial best picture winner.

Chicago - Il Musical - regia: Chiara Noschese; traduzione, adattamento e versi italiani: Giorgio Calabrese; interpreti e personaggi: Stefania Rocca (Velma Kelly), Giulia Sol (Roxie Hart), Brian Boccuni (Billy Flynn), Cristian Ruiz (Amos Hart), C. Noschese (Mama Morton), Luca Giacomelli Ferrarini (Mary Sunshine); ensemble: Federica Basso, Camilla Esposito, Anna Foria, Lorissa Mullishi, Vittoria Sardo, Carolina Sisto, Camilla Tappi, Pietro Mattarelli, Giovanni Abbracciavento, Mattia Fazioli, Alfonso
Maria Mottola, Kevin Peci, Andrea Spata, Raffaele Rudilosso; swing: Veronica Barchielli, Ilario Castagnola; coreografie: Franco Miseria; direzione musicale: Andrea Calandrini; scene: Iele Moreschi; costumi: Ivan Stefanutti; disegno luci: Francesco Vignati; produzione: Stage Entertainment Matteo Forte & Dan Hinde; durata: due ore e mezza, intervallo compreso - rimarrà in scena al Teatro Brancaccio fino a domenica 10 dicembre 2023 (orari: da mercoledì 29 novembre a sabato 2 dicembre e da mercoledì 6 a sabato 9 dicembre, ore 20.45; domenica 3 e domenica 10 dicembre, ore 17.00).

Final issues of the X-Force original run.
As it turns out, Phat and Vivisector’s pretend isn’t so much pretend anymore. Back on Earth from their space mission, and now closer after Phat’s serious wound, the two men end up spending the night together, realizing that they do actually love each other.
However Phat now is even more insecure about it. He didn’t mind pretending before because he knew it was “fake”, but now that it is real he can’t stand the mention of it by media - for exemple, in picture 6, when a journalist asks him about his relationship with Vivisector he briefly turns into a fat giant out of anger.
And this is all for X-Force! After that the series ends.
There is actually much more of Phat, because the series has a sequel, named “X-StatiX”. But I will do a brief pause here.

I’ve rewatched “Chicago”. Yes, I’ve already watched and even made a post about it here, but it was so long ago and the post consisted of one sentence, so it doesn’t count. What does count that when I first watched it, I downloaded the full soundtrack and from that time I, well, didn’t learn it by heart but I know it pretty well, so rewatching it pretty fun. I like the idea that we have separately the story and the musical numbers – a very clever cut combines them and they look very organic together (which probably wouldn’t happen, if the characters actually went in the dance in realistic jail). We all know how amazing it is – the dancing, the singing, all that jazz music. (There may be spoilers!) The whole concept of being famous because of your crime and going away with actual murder just because your lawyer gave the jury and the public a show. I mean: we all sympathize Roxie, though we all understand that she killed a man and it wasn’t self-defence; the same is for Velma. We all can understand their feelings, their anger, but why do we forget about their actions? The evil irony that the only woman who was hang was the only innocent one. So, yes complicated plot, fabulous dance and music numbers.

THE PERFECT STORM (Movie Review)
Tumblr media
I. Trivia about the perfect storm The Perfect Storm was generated by a cold front that moved along the United States' east coast. The front spawned an extra tropical low to the east of Nova Scotia on October 28. The 'perfect storm' created wave heights of up to 100 feet and winds of up to 70 mph at its highest, according to Boston. "The winds and waves in Sandy were much stronger." The Andrea Gail was capsized by waves as high as 39 feet. In a terrifying trilogy of events, a high-pressure system, a low-pressure system, and the remnants of Hurricane Grace collided. The ensuing waves and strong winds slammed into several areas of the Eastern United States, sinking the Andrea Gail and killing all six of her passengers. II. CAST OF CHARACTERS & DIRECTOR G.Michael Ironside as “Bob Brown” the Andrea Gail is owned by Bob Brown. Despite his success as a self-made businessman, Gloucester locals have called Bob "Suicide Bob" because of his proclivity for taking chances while fishing. George Clooney as “Billy Tyne” as captain of the Andrea Gail from Charlie Reed. Billy was born and raised in Gloucester. Billy, a divorced father of two, is one of the exceptional fishermen who genuinely enjoys his work. Mark Wahlberg as “Bobby Shatford” is a crew member on the Andrea Gail. Bobby was raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts, by his mother, Ethel. He was engaged to Chris Cotter at the time of the boat's last voyage. He is divorced from his ex-wife, with whom he has two daughters. He wanted to take a job on the Andrea Gail to help pay off his expenses after being brought to court for non-payment of child care. John C. Reilly as “Dale "Murph" Murphy”. Murph is one of the Andrea Gail's crew members. He is from Bradenton Beach, Florida, and is 30 years old. Debra is his ex-wife, and he adores his three-year-old son Dale. One of the last things he does before embarking on the Andrea Gail's last adventure is to buy his son toys. Allen Payne as “Alfred Pierre”. Alfred Pierre is a crew member on the Andrea Gail. The ship’s only black crew member, he was originally from Jamaica and lived in New York City.
John Hawkes as “Michael "Bugsy" Moran Bugsy”. Moran is a crew member on the Andrea Gail. He has long hair and a crazy reputation in Gloucester. He disappears along with the rest of the crew during the storm.
F.William Fichtner as “David Sullivan”. Andrea Gail's crew member when another fisherman accidentally pulled out, he signed up for the trip at the last minute.
Diane Lane as “Christina Cotter “. Bobby Shatford's fiancée is Chris Cotter. When The Perfect Storm takes place, she is in her early forties. She has three children from a former marriage and is divorced. Bobby's fishing trips give Chris a lot of distress, and she also drinks to deal with his long absences. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as “Linda Greenlaw”. Linda is the captain of the Hannah Boden, the Andrea Gail’s sister boat, which is also owned by Bob Brown. Christopher McDonal as “Todd Gross” a Boston meteorologist for WNEV-TV.
Wolfgang Petersen the director of the movie “The Perfect Storm”.
Sebastian Junger  the Perfect Storm is written by Sebastian Junger. Since seeing the storm's devastation firsthand and reading a media article about the Andrea Gail's alleged destruction. III. Summary of The Perfect Storm The sword fishing cruise, The Andrea Gail, returns to port in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in September 1991 with a disappointing catch. Billy Tyne the Captain, desperate for funds, persuades the crew to accompany him on another late-season fishing adventure. They leave their normal fishing grounds behind them, leaving a brewing thunderstorm in their wake. After a string of failures, they travel to the Flemish Cap, where their fortunes turn around. The ice machine fails during their fishing trip, and the only way to save their catch is to return to shore quickly. The crew debates whether to sail into the approaching storm or ride it out, and ultimately decides to gamble it. However, there is a confluence of two strong weather fronts and a storm between the Andrea Gail and Gloucester, which the crew of the Andrea Gail overlooks. The Andrea Gail drops her antenna after repeated signals from other ships, causing a fellow sailor to call in a Mayday. The Andrea Gail had a number of issues, big waves smashing on the ground, a damaged stabilizer crashing into the ship's side, and two men being tossed overboard. To escape more storm disruption, the crew decides to turn around. After that, the ship runs into a massive rogue wave. The stricken fishing vessel capsizes and sinks after trying and struggling to sail over the tide. Just Bobby Shatford is able to escape the ferry, but he has little hope of survival. He was last seen alone in the ocean. A farewell service is held on the sand, as friends and relatives fret and wait for a ship that never appears.
IV. Review The Perfect Storm excels at a few things. It tells an engrossing story. A true story of people trying to succeed as their chances of success go from slim to zero. Just when fate conspires to tempt the captain and crew to try their luck with minor wins, we are encouraged to believe that maybe they will make it and that this ongoing struggle will result in some sort of happy ending. We, like the Andrea Gail's crew. These individuals feel genuine, each with their own goals, desires, challenges, and hardships. Joy, pride, optimism, anger, and anxiety were all instilled in the townies, crew, and captain, making you feel as though you knew them. The creators have provided enough inspiration for the characters' actions. Why would someone in their right mind gamble their life to return to the sea while so many people caution them about it? There are economic strains, the need to end a losing streak, the urge to retain a crew and prove yourself worthy, but there is also the love of the sea articulated so well by Billy Tyne as he embarks on his final voyage. V. Reaction The movie “The Perfect storm” the first time I feel just happy and chill that I see the people out there is being excited to  see their love once comeback and at the middle of the story I began to fill strange and nervous that what will happen to the fisher man’s. Till the hurricane came I became nervous, amazed, that my reaction is mixt up. There is came up in my mind that what if I encounter just like that hurricane. Until the boat sank and the six fisher man’s lost and died I think my tears will going to too fell but I just suppressed it. Hands down to the cast and to the director this is one of the best movie for who wants  to cross the sea and the one who wants to see what struggle for the fisher man’s  is. VI. Lessons Learned The story of both of us is told in The Perfect Storm. We all have our expectations and aspirations for the future, as well as our rivalries, pride, loves, and fears. We embarked on our respective journeys, each with its own series of challenges and triumphs. Human existence is too brief to not make the best of each day. Taking the time per day to think on how lucky you are being living. Don't ever be afraid to pursue your passion; it could just lead a good future. Life is a series of twists and downfalls, but never forget that you don't know what future will hold. VII. REFERENCE Junger, S. (1997). The perfect storm: A true story of men against the sea. Leading Men Age, But Their Love Interests Don’t
Yesterday, Kristen Stewart fell out of the con-artist comedy Focus after Will Smith replaced Ben Affleck as the male lead; according to Variety, she was nagged by "the feeling that the age difference between the two would be too large a gap." For the record, Smith is a mere four years older than the 40-year-old Affleck, and if it seems a little odd that either of them would be considered a romantic partner for the 23-year-old Stewart in the first place … well, welcome to Hollywood. It seems like time and time again, male movie stars are allowed to age into their forties, fifties, and even sixties while the ages of their female love interests remain firmly on one side of the big 4-0, but is this a perception borne out of reality? To find out for sure, Vulture has analyzed the data of ten middle-aged leading men and the ages of the women they've wooed onscreen; you'll see the results in the charts below.
How'd we arrive at our conclusions? For each of our leading men, we tried to pick a representative sample of films — usually ten — where that A-lister had a notable love interest or wife, then we plotted the age gaps on our charts over the course of that star's career. (Because production dates for older movies can be hard to come by, we measured the stars' ages on the day the film in question was released.) The results confirmed our suspicions: As leading men age, their love interests stay the same, and even the oldest men on our list have had few romantic pairings with a woman their own age (or even one out of her mid-thirties). If our actor was sharing the screen with an A-lister of commensurate star power like Julia Roberts or Angelina Jolie, the age difference would drop somewhat, but in movies that relied solely on our guy's big name, the lesser-known love interests would nearly always be decades younger.

DENZEL WASHINGTON Denzel Washington's pushing 60, but you wouldn't know it from his love interests, who tend to stay 35 and under. Perhaps that's because Washington rarely gets to romance an actress as formidable as he is (a fact of life that may owe more to Hollywood's racial prejudices than gender inequality), because when he went toe-to-toe with Angela Bassett for Malcolm X and Whitney Houston in The Preacher's Wife, the age differences weren't quite as egregious. (He did pair with Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie when they were newbie superstars, but those films — The Pelican Brief and The Bone Collector — were cautious and chaste when it came to suggesting a love connection). The older Washington gets, the less it seems to matter to his love interests, as the last three notable ones — Paula Patton, Lymari Nadal, and Kelly Reilly — were all more than twenty years younger than he was.
HARRISON FORD Ford rose to stardom in his late thirties, but the first time he had a notable love interest in her late thirties, it was in 1999's Random Hearts … when Ford was an age 57 to Kristin Scott Thomas's 39. The vast majority of Ford's love interests have been at least fifteen years younger than him, and some were far younger than that: When Six Days Seven Nights came out in 1998, pundits debated whether the sexuality of Ford's co-star Anne Heche might prove a distraction, paying little mind to the fact that Ford was 26 years older than the woman he was supposed to woo.
JOHNNY DEPP Johnny Depp likes 'em young: Nearly all of his notable love interests have been 25 or under, and a few of them — including Winona Ryder, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, and Keira Knightley (who shared a kiss with Depp in the second Pirates film) — would have been carded at the time they swapped spit with the star. In fact, the cradle-robbing Depp has only had two notable love interests in their mid-thirties, and all Juliette Binoche and Angelina Jolie had to do to make that cut is win an Oscar beforehand. Easy!
TOM CRUISE Tom Cruise has had an interesting romantic trajectory onscreen: At the start of his career, almost all of his love interests were older than him. Shelley Long in Losin' It, Rebecca De Mornay in Risky Business, Kelly McGillis in Top Gun … time and time again, an older woman would seduce the sexually inexperienced Cruise onscreen. It's no wonder women used to love him! In the nineties, though, Cruise began squiring the five-years-younger Nicole Kidman, and he's remained the older man in all of his romantic encounters since. From Vanilla Sky on, the closest Cruise will let a woman get to his age is ten years; in the new Oblivion, he's a full seventeen years older than his female lead, Olga Kurylenko.
GEORGE CLOONEY Compared to Cruise, the women that George Clooney screen-dates are a smidge more age-appropriate (most of them are only eight or nine years his junior), and twice he even wooed actresses who were three older than him: Michelle Pfeiffer in One Fine Day and Holly Hunter in O Brother, Where Art Thou? When it comes to co-stars, Clooney tends to have his pick of classy actresses in their mid-thirties, though as he gets older — Clooney will turn 52 in May — the age of his love interests still seems to have plateaued.
RICHARD GERE Former Sexiest Man Alive winner Richard Gere is a good-looking 63, but his love interests haven't aged much in the three decades he's been a star: From Pretty Woman on, Gere's female co-stars have been 10 to 30 years younger than him, a trend that shows no signs of abating now that he's in his seventh decade. To be fair, he's played husband to the three-years-older Susan Sarandon in both Shall We Dance and Arbitrage … but in the former, he spends far more screen time with the much younger Jennifer Lopez, and in the latter, he's stepping out on Sarandon with supermodel-turned-actress Laetitia Casta, who's separated in age from Gere by a solid 29 years. At least Gere had the tables turned on him somewhat in Unfaithful, where his fifteen-years-younger screen-wife Diane Lane had an affair with a younger man, Olivier Martinez. How much younger than Lane was Martinez? Well … one measly year, actually.
STEVE CARELL When your breakout film is called The 40 Year Old Virgin, it ensures that audiences will forever be aware of your age … even if you were actually 43 when it came out, as Steve Carell was. In that movie, he fell in love with the three-years-older Catherine Keener, and ever since, Carell has looked most at home with romantic partners nearer to his age, like Lauren Graham, Tina Fey, and Julianne Moore. Every so often, though, Hollywood will insist at throwing a twentysomething starlet at Carell, and it's just awkward: Movies like Get Smart, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone had more than a few problems, but the main issue in all three is how ill at ease Carell seems when romantically paired with an actress who's twenty years younger. Let's hope Carell got the memo and will continue to be the rare male star who mostly sticks to love interests in their forties (as his new screen paramour Kristen Wiig will be when Anchorman 2 comes out this winter).
BRAD PITT Brad Pitt began his career as a romantic idol by taking a page straight out of the Tom Cruise playbook: After his roll in the hay with the eight-years-older Geena Davis in Thelma & Louise, he then began screen-dating the much younger women he was seeing in real life, Juliette Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow, who were both around a decade Pitt's junior. (That's apparently his sweet spot, as Angelina Jolie would later be able to attest.) The rest of his romantic history runs the gamut, though Pitt did once take a screen-wife his own age: Mary-Louise Parker, who only got a handful of lines in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
LIAM NEESON Remember how Depp only allowed a love interest within striking distance of his own age if she was an Oscar-winning actress? The same more than holds true for Liam Neeson, who was partnered with older Oscar winners Jessica Lange and Meryl Streep in the mid-nineties. Aside from that brief moment in time, Neeson usually robs the cradle by wooing actresses around fifteen years younger than him, and ever since Taken reestablished his box-office virility, the age of his love interests has dropped precipitously: More than two and a half decades separated Neeson from his screen-wife January Jones in Unknown, and in Paul Haggis's next film, Third Person, the 61-year-old Neeson will bed 29-year-old Olivia Wilde.
TOM HANKS Well, here's something novel: an A-lister whose leading ladies actually age alongside him (though they still tend, on the whole, to be a bit younger). There aren't any egregiously age-inappropriate pairings in Tom Hanks's portfolio, since Hanks keeps his love interests within at least ten years of him at all times. He also aims high: Most of his female co-stars are Oscar winners or nominees, from Helen Hunt to Halle Berry, and he'll co-star with two-time nominee Catherine Keener (who's only three years younger) in this year's fact-based drama Captain Phillips. Then again, maybe it shouldn't surprise us that Hanks is an A-list aberration in this group: For 25 years, he's been married to the same woman, actress Rita Wilson … and both Hanks and Wilson are 56.
* The charts for Steve Carell and Tom Hanks have been updated.

off the rack #1292
Monday, December 16, 2019
I sure got a heavy cardio workout yesterday scraping off the ice from both vehicles after the rain on Saturday froze under a layer of snow overnight into Sunday morning. That kind of temperature change will give you whiplash. The frozen blowing snow covered half of our birdfeeders too so I had to clear those off for our feathered friends. It's despairing when the temperature drops during the day instead of getting warmer. Stupid Arctic Air Mass.
The Red Mother #1 - Jeremy Haun (writer) Danny Luckert (art) Ed Dukeshire (letters). The first page with the disintegrating skull will give you an idea of what this beautifully drawn new story is about. Daisy and her boyfriend Luke are walking home from dinner when they are attacked in a scary black space behind an iron gate. Luke is hauled into the blackness and Daisy has her right eye plucked out but survives. By the end of this issue she's seeing scary things through a haze of red. I loved the art in this and look forward to meeting Mother.
Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #4 - Jody Houser (writer) Adriana Melo (pencils) Mark Morales & Wade von Grawbadger (inks) Hi-Fi (colours) Gabriela Downie (letters). The Floronic Man attacks the girls again. This time in a roadside dinosaur theme park run by a crazy old lady. Poison Ivy figures out how the bad guy is tracking them and Harley fixes that problem with a machete. This is one crazy story.
Punisher Soviet #2 - Garth Ennis (writer) Jacen Burrows (pencils) Guillermo Ortego (inks) Nolan Woodard (colours) Rob Steen (letters). Frank has reluctantly taken on a teammate in his fight with a Russian mobster. This issue starts that guy's origin story.
Something is Killing the Children #4 - James Tynion IV (writer) Werther Dell'Edera (art) Miquel Muerto (colours) AndWorld Design (letters). Erica goes shopping for monster killing tools and into the woods we go. Time to meet the monster.
X-Force #3 - Benjamin Percy (writer) Joshua Cassara (art) Guru-eFX (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The enemy is revealed and they are Xeno. Kind of reminds me of the Court of Owls from Batman. Wolverine and Kid Omega rescue Domino from their clutches while a new Charles Xavier is hatched with a rebuilt Cerebro to lead the war. I liked how Magneto made a sword for Charles from the broken Cerebro helmet.
The Dollhouse Family #2 - M. R. Carey (writer) Peter Gross (layouts) Vince Locke (finishes) Cris Peter (colours) Todd Klein (letters). Maybe I'm wrong but I suspect that the M. in the writer credit stands for Mike. I loved Mike Carey's Vertigo books and this has a very familiar feel. I like how the house is a character too.
The Immortal Hulk #28 - Al Ewing (writer) Tom Reilly & Matias Bergara (art) Chris O'Halloran (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). The villain gets the spotlight this issue as Roxxon C.E.O. Dario Agger tries to find a way to fight the Hulk. He goes to find an ally on Monster Isle and I laughed when I saw who it was.
Valkyrie #6 - Al Ewing & Jason Aaron (writers) Pere Perez (art) Jesus Aburtov (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). What a great read. This is an example of how two good writers can produce a highly enjoyable issue of a comic book. Add to that very nice art and you've got a "pick of the week". Part one of "Strange Aeons" starts a new story where Val needs to put together a team to save Death. Doctor Strange is her first recruit and Night Nurse, Cardiac, Doctor Faiza Hussain AKA Excalibur and Manikin make the journey to the valley of the shadow of death. Talk about D-list, but I trust that Al and Jason will make good use of these heroes.
Detective Comics #1017 - Tom Taylor (writer) Fernando Blanco (art) John Kalisz (colours) Travis Lanham (letters). This is a great one issue story if you want to see why this comic book is on my "must read" list. Batman solves two crimes and I was happy to see Damian helping out. If Tom Taylor did a Robin book, I'd read that too.
Fantastic Four #17 - Dan Slott (writer) Luciano Vecchio, Carlos Magno, Bob Quinn & Sean Izaakse (art) Erick Arciniega (colours) VC's Travis Lanham (letters). I was wondering why this story was called "Point of Origin" and this issue explain why. We all know that the Fantastic Four were bombarded with cosmic rays when they took their maiden flight and that's what gave them their super powers. Little did we know it wasn't an accident. It's a subtle change and doesn't make a lot of difference in the grand scheme of things but it is kind of neat.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13 - Saladin Ahmed (writer) Javier Garron (art pages 1-2, 16-20) Kevin Libranda (art pages 3-8) & Alitha Martinez (art pages 9-13) David Curiel & Protobunker (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). I usually get annoyed when an issue is drawn by a bunch of different artists but Javier, Kevin and Alitha all did a splendid job and the story flowed seamlessly. The awesome colouring job helped too. Say hello to Billie Mariana Morales. Miles is now a big brother.
Superman #18 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Ivan Reis (pencils) Joe Prado (inks) Alex Sinclair (colours) Dave Sharpe (letters). As big a Brian Bendis fan that I am, I stopped reading this title because I wasn't interested in what was happening in the book. Now I'm interested again. Superman drops a bomb that's going to explode into all kinds of repercussions. I liked how Wonder Woman, Batman and Lex Luthor reacted to the news even though they don't utter a word. That's great art right there. The cover will give you a hint to what Superman's announcement is.
Fallen Angels #3 - Bryan Hill (writer) Szymon Kudranski (art) Frank D'Armata (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). Cable, Psylocke and X-23's mission to save some children continues and one of the heroes is captured by the enemy. I hope their next story happens in the daytime because these issues have been very dark.
Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child#1 - Frank Miller (writer) Rafael Grampa (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) John Workman & Deron Bennett (letters). No returning Dark Knight since this story features Lara, Jonathan and Carrie, the kids of the Big Two. They battle old man Joker and old man Darkseid. I loved the art. The writing was annoyingly repetitive. That seems to be Franks writing style now using lots of verbs and choppy little captions. I don't like it. The thing about comic books is that the art and writing go hand in hand and I just couldn't stop reading the words part way and just look at the pretty pictures. Seeing Greta Thunberg on the last page just made me love Rafael even more.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #14 - Tom Taylor (writer) Marguerite Sauvage (art flashback) Ken Lashley (art) Marguerite Sauvage & Rachelle Rosenberg (colours) VC's Travis Lanham (letters). Crappydoodles! This is the last issue. I am sad. I enjoyed the entire 14-issue run. It was Juann Cabal's art that got me hooked but Tom's writing kept me reading. His stories were very Mister Rogers and I liked them a lot. He showed Peter committed to his sense of responsibility and ended this issue nicely. I'm going to miss this title.
The Batman's Grave #3 - Warren Ellis (writer) Bryan Hitch (pencils) Kevin Nowlan (inks) Alex Sinclair (colours) Richard Starkings (letters). Batman is working on a case of murder disguised as a suicide. I like how this issue starts and ends with him working the case with Alfred in the Batcave that bookends 10 pages of wordless solo crime scene investigation and a fight with an intruder for a crucial clue.
2099: Doom #1 - Chip Zdarsky (writer) Marco Castiello (art) Chris Sotomayor (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This one-shot doesn't add much to the overall story but I like Chip's writing so I read it. Victor winds up in 2099 fighting his future self. The last page doesn't make a lot of sense so skipping this comic won't hurt much.
2099: Spider-Man #1 - Nick Spencer (writer) Ze Carlos (art) Brian Reber & Andrew Crossley (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). I was as confused as the Miguel in this story when I got to the end. We get a sense of what's happening in 2099 that's bad for everyone but there's no connection to the main story as far as I can make out. These 2099 one-shots have been a waste of time, which doesn't bode well for Marvel's next big event. I'll read 2099 Omega to see if there's a point to this story and I'll read The Amazing Spider-Man #36 that ties into this event because that book is on my "must read" list, but Nick Spencer is skating on thin ice with me.
Annihilation - Scourge: Beta Ray Bill #1 - Michael Moreci (writer) Alberto Alburquerque (art) Jay David Ramos (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). This was a good single issue story. Beta Ray Bill goes up against the Sentry and saves our universe from the scourge of the Cancerverse. I liked that he's teamed up with Lockjaw.
Annihilation - Scourge: Silver Surfer #1 - Dan Abnett (writer) Paul Davidson (art) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I was asked recently if the Silver Surfer was good or evil after the Silver Surfer Black story and I didn't know the answer until now. This tie-in one-shot takes place right after Silver Surfer Black as Norrin Radd breaches the barrier between the positive universe and the Negative Zone to investigate what's causing the mass exodus from Annihilus's realm. Here he finds the means of defeating the Void controlled Sentry and thereby save two universes. He also discovers the ability to merge with another being sort of like DC's Deadman.

REVIEW
The perfect storm such a very good movie. The.combination of a science fiction, adventurous and a good for family movie. The camera angles and the musical effect gives a movie a realistic effect. Also, the actors and the actresses give their best.to become more dramatic in every scene.
The sequence of the story is also good and it is planned very well. The pictures, lights and sounds also at their place too, where you can obviously notice it. Also, the scenery in the film is such a wonderful because of the effects and the lights that put to it.
Over-all the movie is indeed a successful one. You can enjoy watching.it and be amaze to the beauty of it. You will be educated how the life at sea is and how you will do if you are at there situation too. It gives you the lesson that if you have a unity you can achieve more.
REACTION
The perfect storm is such a wonderful movie. i liked the combination of tragic and adventurous theme of the film. the film shows how is the at is,as a future seafarer. it thought me that the life at sea is difficult and challenging. Also, the movie show the unity of the crew in times of emergency.
I recommend this movie to the persons who has a dream to become a seafarer someday and also to the person who loves to watch science-fiction movie. Indeed it is a good movie that you cant wait to see.
LESSON LEARNED
Life at sea is difficult if you are alone you must have you crew in order to follow the flow of the waves. The lesson that I've learned in this movie is that you must have a unity in order to reach your goal and to survive in life.
As we can see in the movie. At first, there is no unity in the crew of the ship and their is always a fight between the crew. But they manage to fixed because in the first place they they are friends. So we must have a unity.
In order for us to become successful we must true to our self and to the person around us. And we must have a unity to reached it.
