As we sat at a table for dinner in Yamaha's hospitality unit at Valencia [2008], where we planned to pick up from where we'd last left his biography, I realised that there was nobody left from the group of people with whom I had worked so closely last time around. There was no Dani Amatriaín, his manager for ten years; no Pere-Gurt, his former director of communications; even his old friend, Dani Palau, wasn't there. They had all made way for a new inner circle, headed by Marcos Hirsch, his physical trainer and now his manager. Héctor Martín, who was signed up by Amatriaín as Jorge's press officer, was now in charge of all his press and PR activities while the renowned lawyer Ramón Sostres, who works for a host of top-level Spanish international footballers, had been hired as his new legal advisor.
Lap by lap Dani [Amatriaín] began to realise he was watching one of them more than the others - a tiny kid who rode differently to everybody else. He didn't know it yet, but what Dani saw from trackside that day was a glimpse into the future. 'More than his speed, he caught my attention by the way he took the corners. It was as if he'd been doing it his whole life - like a professional.' It is now the end of 2007 and he closes his eyes to remember a moment that clearly holds a special place in his memory. You just know that he could describe every second of it. 'I was curious to see who this kid was, so I took the trouble to go to his box.' It was there that Dani would meet one of the key characters in this story - Jorge's father, Chicho Lorenzo. 'I asked him about his rider. I told him he'd caught my attention and I wanted to meet him. His father called him and he came out.' It was love at first sight, although they wouldn't realise that until much later. 'I remember it as if it was yesterday,' continues Dani. 'He was an unusual, curious character. His head was shaved, apart from a Mohican and two stars. His father said, " This is Dani Amatriaín." [Jorge] looked at me with distrust. He had no idea who I was.' But their story together had begun because this little ten year old, with his skill and attitude, had made such a major impact on one of the leading talent-spotters in Spain.
A month after that first meeting Chicho Lorenzo travelled to Barcelona, where Dani was in charge of a school for mechanics called Monlau. While Jorge might not have known at Jerez how important this person was, his father certainly did, and he also knew how crucial his interest could turn out to be. Chicho wanted Jorge to go on competing in the Copa Aprilia but he was in dire financial straits. 'I've brought him this far,' Chicho told Dani. 'From here I don't have the means to take him further. Is there anything we can do?' Sincerity and candour, a Lorenzo trademark. At that time Amatriaín already had ten or eleven riders competing in the CEV, European Championships and Grands Prix. 'I couldn't give him the support he deserved,' recalls Dani. 'It was really difficult for me and I had no choice but to say no.' Lorenzo's fledgling career was on the point of ending before it had begun, but Chicho was not, and is not, the kind of guy who accepts defeat. Dani's words would have been heartbreaking to anybody else, but Chicho refused to leave Barcelona without making one final attempt. As they said goodbye he handed Dani a videotape. 'Please, just watch this. So that you can see how we ride in Mallorca.' With that he left, confident in the knowledge that the sight of Jorge in action would be enough for Dani to take those crushing words back.
Jorge's father, who had seen the reaction his son's riding provoked among bystanders back home in Palma de Mallorca, was not wrong. The first thing Amatriaín did when he arrived home was load the tape into his VCR. His wife had his dinner ready on the table and was angry that he walked straight past it to the video recorder, but Dani's curiosity had got the better of his manners. 'I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The way he rode, how he slid the bike around. I was surprised by his audacity, his temperament, the way he controlled the bike and the way it was all so natural. He was so small that it was surprising to see him ride like that. And his stare... he already had the stare of a champion.' The video already forms part of Lorenzo legend and is something anybody close to him pinpoints as a key moment in his discovery. The first time I asked Pere Gurt when and how he'd come across Jorge he told me: 'I'll start by telling you about the first time I heard anybody talk about him. Dani told me he'd seen a video of this incredible kid. I remember he told me he'd discovered a bomb waiting to explode - a rough diamond.'
Chicho Lorenzo spotted his son's ability on two wheels when the child was only three and immediately started grooming him for greatness. He removed the brakes from Jorge's bike to force him to learn to stop it by skidding sideways, won him a place with Dani Amatriain, one of Spain's top team managers, and later withdrew him from school early so that the boy could focus on racing.
Dani Amatriaín lives for racing, and his experience and natural instmct for recognising talent drew him instantly to the screen, riveted by the image of a midget riding like a professional. From that day he made Jorge one of his pupils and always had him marked out as one of his favourites. Through Jorge, Dani envisioned the resurrection of an old dream and the quest to fulfil that dream became his life. His deepest professional desire had been to find a kid with raw talent and teach him from scratch - to train him as a rider and as a person, coaching him through every level of competition until that great promise was realised in the form of a great champion. 'I always thought that when I found a rider like that, who had all the natural attributes, everything else could be worked on.'
At Jerez Dani had already seen that this kid was different from the rest and now he could begin to witness it first hand. They would go to a circuit and Dani would take a 600, with Jorge following behind on a 50. 'I was virtually drooling because it was like having a professional behind me. Then I'd let him pass and I'd follow him from behind so that I could watch him and I realised that he'd picked up absolutely everything. He was like a sponge! I had to stop because he was getting faster and faster and I was worried he might hurt himself.'
Chicho Lorenzo had dug a diamond from the mine and delivered it - now it needed an expert jeweller to work on it. Despite his own obvious natural talent for riding and his vast experience, the first reality faced by Amatriaín was that this was going to be a difficult job - as difficult as the character of a World Champion. But Dani wanted to take it on and he committed himself to it with great conviction. Jorge came into his life as a challenge; he showed signs of being a thoroughbred racer and Dani backed him strongly, so convinced of his talent that he gave the youngster his own lucky number, 48. It was the number Amatriaín had always worn when he raced, during the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was a small detail but one designed to tell the world that Jorge was his great hope. Apart from 2007, when Lorenzo sported the number 1 plate as 250cc World Champion, Jorge stuck with 48 in tribute to his sporting father figure until the end of the 2008 season, when he'd brought their professional and personal relationship to an end. Indeed, as will become clear over the course of this book, the fact he discarded that number in favour of 99 for the 2009 season was just as significant a decision as it was to use the number 48 in the first place.
It was an amazing change compared to the Jorge of 2002. That was the year he was introduced to his personal trainer, Marcos Hirsch. They'd arranged to meet in the Flash-Flash restaurant in Barcelona with Dani Amatriaín, who had also been trained by Marcos. Hirsch arrived to find Jorge sitting on a sofa, his feet hovering inches above the floor. 'One day this guy will be a great champion ... if we can sort him out,' declared Dani, with his hand proudly gripping little Jorge's shoulder.
But a split developed between Chicho and Amatriain in 2006, when the latter wanted to fire a sports psychologist favoured by the former. Beset by conflicting advice, Lorenzo stopped winning races in the 250cc world championship and began to crash frequently.
It was time to make a choice. On one side were his father Chicho, his girlfriend Eva and his psychologist Joaquin Dosil. On the other were his colleagues and friends Dani Amatriaín and Marcos Hirsch. A group of people once united in the Jorge Lorenzo cause had been split down the middle by a clash of criteria. The unusual thing about cases like this is that both parties involved in the conflict had the common objective of Jorge's well-being but the crux of the matter was that there were many different ways to approach and achieve it. The approach, in particular, had to be one that suited the rider, who was no longer a child and needed to make his own decisions about how to solve dilemmas. He needed to make a choice with those closest to him - but who was closest to him? Which side should he go with? [...] The lowest point came, after the French Grand Prix. Dani Amatriaín, the man who had guided him every step of the way since he was ten, was concerned and felt under mounting pressure. He told Jorge: 'I don't want to work with a rider who keeps falling off and is running the risk of hurting himself, seriously hurting himself. Stop for a moment, think, reflect. This cannot continue. I don't want you to kill yourself on the track.'
He had to choose sides – and went with Amatriain. His father demanded money in return for what he had invested in his son, and Lorenzo asked him to keep away from grand prix tracks. The rift continues, although in a subdued form.
So Jorge made the decision to go with his friends. Everybody wanted the best for him, of course, but only Marcos Hirsch and Dani Amatriaín knew how to achieve it. 'I had no choice, I couldn't say no,' remembers Jorge. 'I had to cut myself free from everything. Only they could pull me out of the hole. "If you want to be World Champion, you have to leave everything behind," they told me. "Trust us." It was really hard because I loved my girlfriend like crazy! And my father, too.' [...] On top of the exercises in mental preparation, the relaxation and the late nights in Barcelona, chatting with Jorge to calm him and remove anxiety from his life, an important new rule was introduced into his routine at Mugello. Every Wednesday, when he arrived at the circuit, he would hand over his mobile phones to Dani Amatriaín- and he wouldn't get them back until Monday. There would be no laptop computer either. He would spend the five days of a Grand Prix completely detached from the outside world, where the racket had become so deafening and distracting.
Marcos took me to Las Ramblas Avenue for a walk and we started talking about what we would do. And he told me. "Either you end this whole situation and get rid of your father, Dosil and Eva and you give me your mobiles on Wednesdays when you fly and I'll bring them back to you on Mondays, or I am done with you".
"You have to break up with your girlfriend Eva because your father is using her to send you messages." Enough is enough! Then Dosil disappeared, Chicho disappeared and Eva disappeared.
The following is an extract from an article published in Diario de Mallorca [in 2006] [...] The father of Mallorcan motorcycle racer Jorge Lorenzo has declared war on his manager, Dani Amatriaín. [...] 'I've been left without a job and without a son, because at the moment he is no son of mine. I am hopeful the same thing happens to him that happens to all sons. That he values everything I have done for him,' says Chicho Lorenzo, who says he hasn't spoken to Jorge for eleven days. He also points the finger at Amatriaín: 'He's his manager and the boss of the team, which are two conflicting jobs. As a director he's already taking 20 per cent, plus the percentage he takes as an agent, but it's not about what he earns. I don't know where my son's money is and it is not normal that the parents of a 19-year-old boy don't know that. We don't know what kind of contract he has with Aprilia ... I wish I'd have looked after the money myself. That way I'd know now that it is all for him. The number of cases where an agent has fleeced a sportsman is incalculable.
The 19-year-old rider from Mallorca has released a statement requesting the closure of 'a catalogue of false claims that, regrettably, have been made public’ and respect for his 'private life, with the attention turned to my career as a professional and a sportsman. Anything that happens in my private life will never be allowed to interfere with my career.' The Mallorcan added: 'My life as a sportsman is completely separate and it is, and always will be, directed by a group of professionals who have my complete trust. '
'Daniel Amatriaín brings charges against the father of Jorge Lorenzo' ‘...the kind of personal comments he has made need to be dealt with in court, where I have already appeared in defence of my honour as a person and a professional' The press release goes on to thank 'certain sections of the media for the invitation to contest some of the humiliating accusations about my person and my professional attitude, which have been published recently'.
JL: To be separated from your son after 18 years together, training him... But he brought it on himself because he didn't want me to continue with Dani [Amatriaín]. If he'd have got on better with Dani, he'd still be here now, but that's the way he is. It's all or nothing with him and when he gets really angry you can't calm him down.
Exactly what the pair meant to each other - Dani to Jorge and vice versa - was best described by Jordi Perez, team co-ordinator for Fortuna Aprilia, at the end of 2007. 'Other than his parents, the most important person in Jorge's life has been Dani. He put his life on one side so that Jorge would not want for anything. He gave up everything for him - not in a material sense but in terms of the affection he has shown him. Before giving Jorge bad advice he'd rather take it on himself.'
'The problem with Dani Amatriaín started in 2007,' begins Jorge. 'Things I can't really specify through good manners and because they're in the hands of the courts. But basically I was very worried and I started to talk about it with Marcos in the gym. ‘What am I going to do with my life?' I'd ask him. I must say that I used to talk about it without giving it too much importance and without really thinking seriously about it because I couldn't imagine my future without Dani. But at that time, aside from the personal problem with him, I started to realise how much money I was missing and I started to get angry about it. The first thing that came into my head, because I still had a contract with him and it was out of order to just go up to him and say it was over, was to tell him that I still wanted to continue with him as my manager, because he did a good job with the sponsors, but that from now on I didn't want him to look after my financial affairs because I couldn't trust him. Marcos and I decided to change lawyers and get somebody else to look after the money. We chose Ramon Sostres.'
During the month of September 2008 Jorge's relationship with his lifelong manager, Dani Amatriaín began to splinter. Once again, people associated his problems on the track with his personal circumstances off it, allegations Jorge denies. 'My problems away from the track had nothing to do with my crashes,' he insists. 'From a sentimental point of view I wasn't affected at all by what was happening. I had started to see things I didn't like, strange things, but I had so much confidence in this person that I never imagined the things that were going on could happen. Practically right up until the split, until the final month, I still had complete faith in him. I wasn't worried. The crashes were simply a result of me trying to do more than I could with what I had underneath me rather than my concerns about what was going on around me.' Not everybody who was aware of what was going on at the time subscribes to Jorge's version of it. At the end of the day, we are all human. 'I think that the split with Dani has made Jorge more relaxed,' says Hector Martin. 'In my opinion, the crash at Laguna Seca was related to problems that were going on off the track. I am convinced of it. The ones at China, Le Mans and Catalunya weren't, but Laguna Seca was. There came a moment, 5 September to be exact, when he split from Dani, face to face in Alella, and he changed his "chip". By the tenth of that month, when he was sent a fax from Las Vegas legally confirming the end of their professional relationship, he was completely liberated.'
'We came up with a plan of how we were going to tell Dani,' Jorge starts up again. 'It was after the Czech Grand Prix at Brno. I could tell he didn't like it but he knew that if he got shirty then it was all over, so he half accepted it. In fact, he said that being honest he wasn't sure he could continue being of use to me in the future, "so it is better that we leave it", he told me. But I said no because he was still doing a good job. I told him to be clear that I only wanted a change of lawyer. Unfortunately things showed no sign of improving and I came to the conclusion that I was going to lose all of my money if I didn't hurry up and break up with him. So after Misano we had another meeting and I told him definitively that we weren't going to continue.' Jorge takes a longer pause than the previous one, breaks into a smile and says: 'So I do remember everything, hey? I thought I'd forgotten it all.' He picks up exactly where he left off. 'He knew when I called him for a meeting that I was going to break up because I suppose somebody he knows would have told him. When I saw him speeding up to me in his Porsche I knew not to expect a good reaction. I was scared because I thought he might flip out and try and hit me, or that he might have brought some heavy with him like the one he brought to Misano. I had to go on my own because if Marcos had come it would have got messy. Anyway, surprisingly, he accepted it, he didn't get mad. The crazy thing was that, even though we had officially split up, he travelled to America for the next race at Indianapolis!'
By the tune the Indianapolis GP came around word had spread among the international press that their relationship had ended. However, Dani Amatriaín acted as if nothing had happened. In fact, he invited the Spanish press to dinner and just when they expected him to announce the break-up Dani stood up and thanked everybody for coming. And that was it! Meal over! 'During practice on Friday Dani wanted to make it look as if nothing had happened and he asked if he could stand in the garage for the sake of his image,' recalls Jorge. 'It was pretty heavy because I'd be getting off the bike and going to speak to Ramon Forcada and I could see him there in the box staring at me with this look of intense hate. It made it really difficult for me to concentrate. Hector Martin steps in. 'I was trying to put myself in Jorge's line of vision, to make a screen so that he didn't see Dani. But since the only other person in the garage that knew about it was Lin Jarvis, nobody else understood what was going on.' Jorge continues. 'On the Saturday night of the GP Dani called Hector and asked for a meeting at the hotel. He wanted to make me sign some documents with God knows what on them and I refused to sign anything, obviously. He'd already done the same thing to Hector at the circuit and he'd also been into Carmela Ezpeleta's office and tried stitching him up by asking him to sign something else. It must have been hard for Hector because he doesn't like confrontations, but he had to give him our lawyer's card and tell him that he could no longer speak to us directly - that everything had to go through our lawyer. It made the relationship extremely difficult from that point on, although at least I didn't have to worry about seeing him at the circuits any more because from Valencia 2008 he was [banned] from coming into the paddock.'
'If a man like Valentino Rossi's performances were affected when he had problems with the tax authorities in 2007, how could Jorge's not be?' agrees Javi Ullate. 'What happened to him was like a break-up in a marriage. That would affect anybody.' But the person who was most surprised by what happened, and by Jorge's reaction, despite his vast experience, was Ramon Forcada. 'In real terms he aged a year over the course of 2008 but in terms of maturity he aged a decade. Considering the problems he's had this year he has shown an incredible capacity to shut it all out and concentrate on riding. It was like a thought bypass! Shortly before he would get on the bike you could see that he was troubled, but he would put on his leathers and it was as if he didn't have a care in the world. When the session finished we would chat about what we had to change for the next practice or for the race, and then, you saw the worry creep back onto his face. But he came through it, he rose above it. Indianapolis was the clearest example of that, and the clearest example of him making the bike his own. He had never finished on the podium in a wet race before and he finished third. Plus it would have been second if they hadn't stopped the race!'
Dani Amatriain's team began to dismember some time ago. Brazilian Marcos Hirsch, the driver's physical trainer, acknowledges some disagreements with the manager "two years ago." "I barely have contact with him, but I am like an external collaborator, I am not part of the team or its meetings," says Hirsch, who claims to have found out about the impending Lorenzo-Amatriain divorce "from a Catalan newspaper." "It is now said that Dani was Jorge's discoverer and that is not true; "Jorge's discoverer was his father, Chicho Lorenzo," Hirsch emphasized.
Hirsch: It's also true that he has been unlucky because this period with Amatríain was good on the sporting side... but on the personal side he has suffered a lot.
After there was speculation about the creation of a MotoGP team for Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Amatriain got his pupil to sign for Yamaha, leaving him in the background as the rider's manager. After a very irregular season, in which the first successes in the top category gave way to a carousel of serious falls, Jorge Lorenzo now decides to break with his mentor when he begins to straighten his sporting course after the last two podiums in Italy and USA. Lorenzo, protected by a great team of the stature of Yamaha along with Valentino Rossi, thus breaks with a tutor who was excessively absorbing.
Over the course of 2008, Hector Martin was a first-hand witness to the changes in Jorge's professional and personal life, taking an active role in his development and growth. 'Since the split with Amatriaín he wants to know everything. He gets angry if we don't tell him. He doesn't oversee everything because the wheels are often already in motion, but he wants to know if there's anything going on.' Jorge has taken control of his life and the evidence was there initially in the small details, with his helmet in the final round at Valencia bearing a small inscription that read 'FMT', meaning 'Free Man Team'. For 2009 he changed his number from 48 to 99. The message was clear: Jorge Lorenzo was a free man. 'Now I make the decisions,' he says forcefully. 'I will ask the people around me for advice but I will be free to do what I feel like and what I want. In the past I had my hands tied a bit. A bit no, a lot! Perhaps I could have realised that earlier but life happens the way it happens and the important thing is to react decisively and not to regret the things you can't change.'
In the end I quit with Amatriaín for quite dark and ugly reasons and I started a new adventure... with Marcos as my manager, or as he says, my right-hand person.
So at last Jorge was free, although a lot of things have been left unsaid - 'things that can perhaps be explained in the future or perhaps not, but for the time being they remain in the hands of the judges,' says Jorge. Marcos is keen to pick up the story, but Jorge finishes by adding, 'This year, on the track at least, I didn't think about Dani at all - he never once came into my mind. But when I was at home in Mallorca he called me and threatened me. He told me I was a coward, that I had no balls, that my mother didn't deserve to have such a cowardly son. "I'll get you", things like that. There were a lot of phone calls like that, a lot of messages. The truth is that he's a smart guy and he always knew how to push it to the limit of what is legal, without crossing the line.'
Lorenzo: Perhaps the worst thing, beyond the injuries, was what happened off the track, the whole Amatríain affair... and how he threatened me after I changed to a different manager. It took me a lot of mental strength to cope with that, switch off my private life... head to circuits and ride like nothing had happened.
In December 2008 a judge issued a restraining order and the pressure eased, but Marcos knew what a hard year it had been for Jorge. 'Jorge has forgotten a lot of things because my job was to make him forget them,' he explains. 'In fact, what Dani actually said in those phone calls was much more serious than what he remembers now. I have recordings of all of the phone calls because the lawyers advised me that it would be a good idea to gather as much evidence as possible for the lawsuits. In fact, all of the calls and messages have been transcribed and handed over to a notary for delivery to the court.
We spent the whole year like that — receiving messages, emails, threatening phone calls,' remembers Marcos, 'especially to Jorge, myself and Ramon Sostres, and a few to Hector. We had to cope with it and when Jorge called me all upset and frightened I would tell him to calm down, not to worry. "Let's speak to the lawyers and get them to do something or call the police so that they arrest him!" Jorge would say. The worst thing that happened was one day when we came out of the gym and Jorge was confronted by two heavies standing on either side of his car. There was another standing in the doorway of the hotel and a big black guy riding around the car park on a scooter. We went to get in the car and the guys just stood there, trying to intimidate us. It turns out that that was the day we were going to a meeting with the police in Les Corts [an area of central Barcelona], who I must thank for the impeccable and professional job they did. We set off and we were followed by a car with another guy in it, making out like he was going to ram us from behind. Hector was driving and I was in the passenger seat. I told him, when he had the opportunity, to get into a position where the other car would have to pull up alongside us. At the corner of another street the guy had no choice but to stop on my side of the car. I lowered the window and stared at him. He took off at the next crossroads and we went straight to the police station to inform the inspector in charge of the investigation into our case. After we made our statement we headed back and an unmarked police car followed us, with two of the four agents following our case inside. Sure enough, we head into the hotel and the two thugs are there again, wearing sunglasses, and then Dani Amatrían appears, making out like he's talking on his mobile phone. The agents walk in, ask them for ID and make a note of all of them. That was at the same time that Dani and his gang moved into the hotel. He was there for three or four days trying to join the gym where we train every day but Carles, the owner, told him there was no way because he knew we were training in there and it wasn't a good idea.
After all the bad things I have gone through, deceptions I had suffered with friends and Amatriaín... it will be very difficult for me to trust in anybody 100% again, but I think with the people around me now, I can trust at 99%.
'One Sunday morning I came out of my house to find a knife stuck through a photo of me into the seat of my motorbike,' continues Marcos. 'A few weeks ago he came to my door and stuck up a load of photos of me from an article FHM did about me last year. I know it was him because the guy went and left me a message admitting it! That happened all damn year. I took it to farcical levels to keep everything from affecting Jorge, and above all I tried not to give it too much importance. What else could I do? I know they can come and give me a kicking, stab me, whatever, because Dani spends most of his time planning his revenge against a world that has supposedly turned against him. And who am I? Jorge's manager? Bullshit! I am the person who makes sure his life is free of stress and prevents all this from affecting him when he is on his bike. 'Jorge is like a caged tiger, but if you run your hand over his back he calms down. Jorge has faith in me and when I tell him to forget everything he does it. What I tell him is this: if you appreciate me, if you love me, if you want to thank me for solving problems - all the 'Amatriaín" stuff, the threats we have put up with and all of the knives - if you care about everything that has happened then get on that bike and gas it! Jorge, get on that Yamaha and race! That is how you can pay me back . . . and you owe me! I am the screen that tries to block everything and every blow aimed at you will deflect off my back. Everything else will be decided in court,' Marcos concludes.
The Spanish press is reporting that Dani Amatriain, former manager of MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo - as well as 125/250GP riders Pol and Alex Espargaro - has been arrested. Sportspaper Marca states that Amatriain was arrested in Barcelona, venue for this weekend's Grand Prix of Catalunya, after making death threats against his former riders. Amatriain [...] is alleged to have demanded money from the riders during early morning phone calls and face to face meetings.
JL: The bad relationship between our managers, Alberto Puig and Dani Amatriaín, has definitely influenced our own [relationship]. I don't think it should ever have been that way because at the end of the day we are the ones getting on the bikes to race and the only things we should be worried about are opening the throttle and giving the thousands of fans watching the race something to enjoy. The fact is that Pedrosa doesn't see it like I do and he has taken sides to the point that it has made any kind of relationship impossible. ER: Are you saying that you have paid the price for the fight between Amatriaín and Puig? JL: I don't think I should have to pay for anything. I think people should show themselves for who they really are and my virtues are that I am honest, I speak the truth, and I accept the consequences of my actions and words. That and the fact I'm not influenced every five minutes by what one person or another says to me. It's like Joan Olivé. Before he was with Puig we knew each other quite well and we used to chat. We're friends again now but when he was with Puig he didn't even look at me! Julito Simon's the same. We used to be friends at the track - I followed his races and he followed mine, and I'd be happy for him when he did well. Since he signed with Alberto Puig he barely says 'Hi'. It's the same with his mechanics, they daren't even chat with other teams. That's the way it is! The same thing happens with Dani Pedrosa. The only time there's been any good feeling between us was at their happiest moment - when they won the 125cc title for the first time. Alberto Puig congratulated me for finishing third in Malaysia and asked how the race had been. They almost seemed like nice people! So in front of of the press I lifted Pedrosa's arm as the champion. It was the only time they have ever seemed prepared to open up to other people.
Jorge Lorenzo confirmed in Assen [2012] his separation from Marcos Hirsch, who until the last race managed the Mallorcan Yamaha rider. Hirsch had looked after the world championship leader's interests for more than 10 years, especially on the physical and mental side and had been fundamental in 2008, the year in which Lorenzo had several falls as soon as he arrived in MotoGP. Here is what the Majorcan said as reported by Motocuatro.com. “As you know, after almost ten years I broke up with Marcos. There wasn't any disagreement or anything like that. The truth is that I was lucky enough to work with three key people in my career, three people who helped me a lot, the first was my father, then Dani Amatriaín and finally Marcos. They helped shape me into a better person and driver. Marcos helped me a lot physically and mentally. We have been a very good team in recent years. He has handled large contracts. But now I felt I had to change something, what I had was not enough to take a further step. Mark was a manager of course, he was a manager who came for other reasons, he helped me a lot when I had personal and professional problems in 2008 but now I don't think he is the person who can make me grow again. Albert Valera is now my new representative. He will help me in relations with the sponsors and I hope that everything goes well to ensure that he becomes an even more complete driver."
Jorge Lorenzo’s former team manager Dani Amatriain has returned to racing, and formed “Team 99” with the help of his former rider [in 2013]. The “Team 99” will compete in the Spanish 80cc cup, and will field three young Spanish riders; Gino Navarro, Alex Toledo and Iker Vera in this seasons series. The former manager who has managed the likes of Jorge Lorenzo, Emilio Alzamora and Pol Espargaro to name a few, but the Spaniard broke away from Lorenzo and motorcycle racing back in 2008, and has since suffered personal problems. But he is now back where he is at his best, scouting at “grassroots” level of two wheeled racing. In a statement released today by Amatriain, he said; “The project is encouraging, these are very young riders with a great future ahead and I should emphasise that the collaboration with Jorge Lorenzo, with whom we share many happy moments from the beginning, when he was only 10 years old, and I am proud and grateful for. It’s a major challenge to move all my experience to these kids, after having gone through some very delicate moments and thankfully I can say that I am fully recovered.”
Regarding the rivalry between two great legends like Dani and Jorge, [Puig says] “There are these situations in life where you have to do something like that and then you do it.” “Maybe they even took him out of the professional field at the time, but I recently spoke with Dani Amatriain. He defended his interests, I defended mine. At that time there was less 'good-nature' than now. It was tougher, but there was less hypocrisy. Today, many people think things, but they don't say them so as not to stray from what is right or wrong."
In an interview given to the Tot Es Mou program on TV3, Jorge Lorenzo's first manager admitted that he entered the world of drug use during his time as a representative: “While I was competing I didn't use. As I began to develop more of a role as a businessman and representative, towards the end, due to the environment, friendships, I began to play with this. And this is so dangerous that it led me to total disaster.”
In his book, Amatriaín recounts chapter by chapter the phases of his addiction, matching them with the people and moments in his life in which they were happening. His eleven years with Jorge Lorenzo and his subsequent stage in the Barcelona nightlife after his painful breakup caused the most fragile moment of his life. A harsh story, although seen from the distance of time and without delving into each of those traumatic moments, which serves to convey how cocaine took away everything from him: "My family, my friends and, although it is not the most important thing for me, also reputation, money and social position.” "My decline until I hit rock bottom was straight out of a movie. When Jorge informed me of our separation and his intention not to attend to the resolution of the contract, I fell into the clutches of drugs absolutely," he says in his book. "I learned that when you have a problem, a lot of people disappear and you are left completely alone," he says.

The Blender Open Movies
youtube
What you're looking at is a playlist of the Blender Open Movies, a series of projects which have been one part technical demonstration, one part weird Dutch arthouse cinema, and one part live QA test. And as this is tumblr, I would like to yell at you about it for a while.
Blender and its Foundation
Fifteen years ago, Blender was not nearly so well known as it is now, and it was a far quirkier, far more baffling program to use. To give you some sense of the weirdness, it used to open with a top-down view that made it hard to tell what exactly what you were looking at, you selected objects with right click, and to whatever extent you might think of there being graphical elements that show you what you can do at any point, were absent. Instead you had keyboard shortcuts, and the wiki. The software was obtuse as hell, painful to use, and ridiculously confusing.
Those of you saying "nothing's changed then", I want you to imagine everything you hate about Blender's UX and multiply it by a thousand. It was that bad.
But the developers behind Blender, a group of Dutch software developers who had bought Blender from their own parent company through a fundraising campaign, made two crucial decisions:
First, rather than becoming a conventional software company and competing with Maya and C4D directly, they made the project Open Source, permanently free to use by anyone, under a legal framework that makes it legally impossible for them to ever charge anyone for it.
Second, and in my view the real secret sauce of Blender's success: the Blender Open Movies.
Build the Bike Underneath Yourself
The developers of Blender use a "content driven development" model, meaning that like Pixar, they are always making animations, and also like Pixar, they are using what they learn to make the software better.
This means that the Blender Foundation doesn't just hire programmers, it hires 3D artists. And then it puts them in the same building with the software developers, and the two groups cooperate to get the software to do as much as it can.
The result is that you start with something kind of dreadful-looking like The Elephant's Dream and end up with gorgeous shorts like Spring. It also means that the interface has been improving year over year for all fifteen of those years, and it shows. Blender still has some pitfalls in its interface, but at this point, more than half of them are caused by the fact that creating 3D art is just hard.
In addition to becoming (less) user-hostile, Blender has become spectacularly, game-breakingly powerful. Unlike most other 3D software, Blender contains everything you need to make 3D animations, inside the software itself. Some tools are not the best in the business, but everything at least exists and can get the job done.
This format has even inspired other studios to become contributing members of the project. One such studio in Spain created Hero, and along with it a collection of mods which eventually became the official tool, Grease Pencil, a way to merge 3D and 2D art styles in the same workspace.
Weird Dutch Animation
One thing you'll notice about the Blender Open Movies is that they are often weird, dark, and quirky. Some of them could frankly use some content warnings. The 3D artists that make up the Blender Studio are an odd bunch, and any time one comes out I think "ok is this going to be one I can show people and tell them they should try this software or am I going to have to stick with Spring for now" because in a general audience, these aren't always great narrative first impressions.
Stories from these films have included stuff like (this paragraph will just be a litany of the dark shit in the movies so you can skip it if you like, or use it to get a sense of what you're in for...) ambiguously fatal head trauma, a dragon getting knifed and blood going everywhere, a sheep trying to hang himself (and the voice acting is pretty upsetting tbh), campers getting murdered by smurf knockoffs, you get the picture.
These days the studio has been trying to keep its offerings a little easier to pass around in mixed company, but every now and then they make something like Sprite Fright and I think "ahhhh, there we go, that's my Dark Blender Studio..."
And as much as I sometimes wish I could pass around this playlist without caveats, I do feel there's value in the art they're doing-- a lot of the weirder films are, despite existing in large part as a tool to make 3D software better, the sort of thing that wouldn't get made by other means. And indeed, they light the way for yet more animation that wouldn't exist without Blender.
The Barrier Has Never Been Lower
What still excites me about Blender to this day is that it keeps proving its value by being the underlying framework that independent artists use to go far beyond what they would be able to afford to do otherwise. Ian Hubert makes live-action films with CGI that reads as only a few steps back from Marvel, This Guy is making a whole weird universe of hard to look at but weirdly impressive monsters, and 87render is making some of the most gorgeous Transformers fan film I've ever seen.
Because Blender is free, and cannot be made un-free, artists can trust it to be there tomorrow. And with stability comes dedication, and with dedication, you get what we have now, an entire ecosystem of creatives making things that just wouldn't happen otherwise.
I felt like a call to action at the end of this would read as annoying, but I do think it's worth a try, even if you tried it a few years ago and it didn't click. It keeps changing, and it keeps getting better. The Blender Open Movies have made sure of that.

Back at the hotel, those who hadn't attempted the antenna were toiling away at bike-packing. Those who had hired bikes had a calmer time on one last terrace of the trip, until the still-rising wind drove us indoors.
The nod to Moorish influence in the water feature on the terrace has set Tim wondering if he can persuade Fi to stop for lunch in Granada on their way back through Spain with the vans tomorrow, after they've dropped us off at the airport.
First, though, is our last supper of the trip.

Can I point something?
During the whole season Le0pard and Jaume put the cape of 'we are alone against the world' because Honda (as a manufacturer) hasn't been updating the bikes an 'stealing' whatever Le0pard developed (basically letting them do the limited updates that the Moto3 teams can do and then telling the others team to do the same, (so Le0pard was loosing their money and not getting anything)).
When it was clear that Jaume was fighting for the championship, he expected every rider to move aside and let him ride to the front and not disturbe him. While Sasaki had to even fight his own teammate. On Le0pards camp, they fired Suzuki because he refused to become a team player, and hired Adrián with the condition he needs to help Jaume (I think he even lost points by letting himself be overtaken by Jaume).
During the whole Qatar GP, Adrián's mission was to follow and disturbe Sasaki. And it's not a big deal because even MotoGP riders do it, but it had to be so fucking obvious, that the rider and the team got a reprimand from the stewards. And then Jaume went to the media crying saying he didn't understand why it was not allowed. One thing is play dirty, another is what Le0pard did in here.
Also, Jaume didn't need to win the race, he just need to be x amount of points over Sasaki, and during part of the race he was playing dirty to throw Sasaki off balance. Again dirty tactics and as Anna said it's not the first nor the last time we will see it. The problems is that when Sasaki felt out of the lead group, Adrián's keep bumping SEVERAL times and messing with him. I think he even got a behaviour reprimand. And yes, Veijer did it too, but only once.
In general that race was dirty, and I'm not going to say Sasaki deserved it because of that, after all he didn't had the consistency Jaume had. And Sasaki's nickname, at least in Spain, is crazy boy, which means he has done it several times too.
People is in general mad because that's not the behaviour expected. Also I don't know if this reached outside Spain, but when talking to the media after getting the championship, Jaume only complained they weren't allowed to bother Sasaki, when at the same time complaining other riders were doing the same to him. Like the hypocrisy.
I'm new to MotoGP/2/3... why does everyone on insta hate jaume masia but it's so chill here on Tumblr 😭
Oh it definitely was not chill on here on the 19th of November 2023, after the Qatar Moto3 race. Basically it was only him and Ayumu Sasaki fighting for the championship, if Jaume won that race, he'd be crowned worldchampion already, if he didn't, it would go to the last race of the season in Valencia. At one point, Jaume pretty purposefully pushed Sasaki so far wide in a corner, that he ended up loosing a few places. He didn't crash or anything, just fell back. Jaume's teammate Adrian, who had apperantly been around Sasaki a lot on track in that weekend, later kept annoying him even more, to try to stop him from climbing the ranks again. At the same time, Jaume had made his way up the field and ended up winning the race, despite Sasaki's teammate (Colin)'s attempt to throw Jaume off his bike by purposefully ramming his elbow into the back of his bike when they were coming out of a corner. People called it "unsportsmanlike" and "Racing dirty" and that's why they don't like him. (Quick side note, Sasaki had not yet won a single race that season, which is my reason to argue that Jaume does deserve his title because he had 4 wins and 10 podiums over the whole season, while only dnf-ing in 2 races and finishing outside of the top 5 only 4 times (he came 13th in Valencia but that wasn't important anymore)) So yeah overall I could understand why people are mad, but to be honest, a lot of legendary championships have been won in an "unsportsmanlike" manner and if both teams were trying to play dirty, I don't think only one should be blamed for it.
Also the other reason people were mad again, a week later, was because Jaume was celebrating his championship again in Valencia, his home circuit and with his fans there, simply because they weren't expecting to win it in Qatar already so they had literally nothing of the show he wanted there (they taped the #1 to his bike with blue ducttape) and Sasaki had won his first race of the season in Valencia so it was "unfair" and again "unsportsmanlike" for Jaume to celebrate at home.

Success is the Best Kind of Revenge Ch. 3
Heels click onto the floor of my office as Chloe pushes open my doors. My hands were currently holding up the train of a dress hung on Juleka. Alix follows after Chloe, tinkering with some kind of camera in her hand. Over the years, as we all graduated from University and done pretty well for ourselves.
Juleka ended up changing her major in school after three semesters. Instead of going into performing arts for instruments, she went and got a composition degree. Juleka wrote music for a variety of artists and was one of the most sought-after songwriters. When she wasn’t doing all of that, she was modeling for my company. Juleka did a variety of photoshoots for several companies, mine included throughout her University Years. After I opened up my first few stores, we signed a formal contract. She’d been working for me for almost a decade. She split her time between Paris and Nashville in America.
Alix decides to focus on a degree in art history. She worked at an Auction House company in Paris, moving between the various countries of Europe to authenticate pieces of art and then handle their sales. She was rather successful at her work, earning many bonuses for rather extremely successful sales. Alix’s unique style and comfortable professionalism made her easily approachable to buyings. She was rather blunt, and it did her well in her job. On her off-hours, Alix did some minor modeling and promoting much of my athletic pieces. Alix’s popularity grew as she competed in several X-Games in and after university. She won several titles in skateboarding, BMX freestyling, rollerskating, and snowboarding before retiring after a slip-up when snowboarding. She shattered her kneecap, broke a leg, her collarbone, and dislocated her arm in two places. She still did BMX biking, skateboarding, rollerblading, and snowboarding, just not in a professional capacity. That being said, little kids still asked for her autographs all the time.
Chloe graduated from the London Business School with Honors and then proceeded to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to get a Graduate Degree in Global Fashion Management. She modeled some of my designs, worked connections, handled all my brand’s social media accounts, and finalized contracts. Now, she had several people working underneath her, to handle the day-to-day operations. Either way, Chloe handled all of the Brand’s business dealings and flourishes.
As for me, I attend the London College of Fashion. I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Development with honors. After those years, I went to Milan to attend Istituto Marangoni International for a Master’s Degree in Luxury Accessories Design & Management. After that, I relocated back to Paris. My first boutique opened up quickly after that along with a small factory with a loan from a bank. I ended up having to open a second factory within three months due to demands. More boutiques opened up worldwide as the Brand became a household name.
“Hello Chloe, how is everything?”
“We got invitations to a reunion for Lycée. Alya sent them, as she was the class representative when we all graduated. Personally, I think she wants to get her hands on you or Juleka for an interview. You know her journalism career is in the gutter.”
Alix snorts. “And who’s fault is that?”
Chloe rolls her eyes. “Her’s. The idiot ruined her blog when she was a teenager and she never changed. She still does idiotic and frankly dangerous things to get a scoop. Sure, she does some basic research now, but the girl’s been detained several times for endangering people and disrupting the peace. No University would touch her, and no place will hire her.”
Alix looks up from the camera. “So, you didn’t inform everyone in the fashion journalism world about her history, knowing it would spread to all major news and journalism networks.
Chloe raises an eyebrow. “Look, this company’s image is important. I was not going to let Miss Blogger ruin it for 15 minutes of fame. She dug her own grave.”
I sigh. “This is great and all, but are you all going?”
There’s a snort right behind me. “Not on any of our lives. We will not be sinking that low.”
“Chloe!” Juleka’s face is red and slightly scandalized.
“What? Why would we go to this reunion? To see how everyone is doing? It’s rather simple. Alya’s a tabloid writer. Nino is a barely successful DJ who works at a music store to help pay his bills. Max is an IT guy at a company. That fake research paper haunts him to this day. Kim works at a gym. The drugs screwed his athletic chances over and he never planned for anything beyond going to the Olympics. Nathaniel works at an art store and does nighttime classes. He’s unsuccessfully worked with 7 different writers for his comics after leaving Marc.
Now, Myléne and Ivan are happy, at least. Myléne works as a secretary and Ivan as a grocery store manager. Both are part-time so one of them can stay home with their kids at a time. They have millions of photos of their family on their Instagram accounts. Neither one can do much with charities. The fraud they committed was spread around the charity communities fast.
Rose, Adrien, and Sabrina are the only ones who did what they wanted to do. Rose had a few years of fame with her music before getting married and settling down as a youth music teacher. Adrien moved to America and works for a University. However, I know for a fact that he will not be returning to Paris for anything less than a funeral or a wedding. As for Sabrina, after some therapy, ended up as a Detective in Marseille.”
“Didn’t you pay for her therapy?” I tie off my last stitch and let the train fall to the platform.
Chloe purses her lips. “I owed her that much. I screwed her childhood up, majorly.”
“Did you stalk everyone to find out all of this?” Alix has a mischievous look.
Another eye roll from Chloe. “I didn’t need to. In this day and age, all you need to do is type their name into the internet and all of their social media pops up.”
I hum. “What about Lila?
“She’s still in prison. Tried another appeal a little while ago, to no avail. Her long list of offenses and the “assisting a terrorist” change isn’t something any judge would want to touch, even with a 10 ft pole.”
Juleka simply shrugs. “Back to the point at hand. I’m not going to this reunion. Rose is the only one I wanted to keep in contact with, and she’s not going. It’s her five-year anniversary with her husband. She’s going to Spain that week.”
Alix shugs. “I’m not going either. Kim has tried to contact me so many times to help him get back into the sports world. I am not giving him another chance. Besides, there’s this huge auction going on in Russia for that week. I am not missing that for a few hours with our childhood classmates.”
I look at Chloe. She raises a perfect eyebrow. “Not a chance and you are not going either. Heavens forbid Alya posts something on that new blog of hers.”
I set my needle and thread down on a work table and gesture to Juleka to get changed. “I’m not going if none of you are. Besides, there’s this fashion show in Milan that weekend. It’s for freshly graduated designers to show off their talents to possible employers. I was planning to go to find some who would specialize in Fashion Contour. I’ve been doing quite a bit of work in that field and want to get a fresh pair of eyes that will eventually take over that area of our brand. I was also hoping to look for someone to start a Make-up department. One of your people mentioned the idea at a meeting.”
Chloe nods and starts to type into her phone. “I’ll tell my assistant to look through the applications we have to see if anyone fulfills the requirements for that job. Just find that new department head.”
I give Chloe a nod as Juleka hands me the dress from before. A custom-made wedding dress for a woman who happened to be Juleka’s exact size. One of the many I had made of the years since I’d started my fashion business.
Some part of me wanted to thank Lila. If I was honest with myself, I wouldn’t be where I was if she hadn’t arrived at my class and taken everyone’s loyalty. They weren’t bad people, but thanks to Ms. Bustier, they were a drain on my energy and abilities. Now, however, I was one of the most well-known and successful fashion designers with over two dozen people for me in Design. I could not be happier.

part one
-
The honeymoon was everything Michelle had dreamed of her life becoming. Travelling each state, spending some days there before moving onto the next one, it was a thrill of the unknown.
Only twice did Ashton have to use his name to get them through territories. His face was known enough that a few of the locals thought they’d get something. Most of them got a few bullets and a warning to the others.
When the Irwin’s left the States, both of them relaxed much more. Ashton knew of a group over in Ireland, however he knew better than to try and antagonise them on their own soil. The last thing he wanted was to cause problems overseas and Michelle had been firm that they were staying in Dublin for their duration.
Not one to argue with his best friend and wife, they kept the trip to Northern Ireland short before making the trip across to the UK. When they’d arrived in the UK, Christmas was fast approaching, only three weeks away. That was when they both suffered with bouts of homesickness. Long distance calls didn’t do much and it was going to be their first Christmas together, away from their families.
They travelled up and down the country, exploring the small seaside towns in the south before partying with strangers up in the north. It was a thrill for the both of them with so many new sights that they’d made the decision to see the new year whilst they were in the UK.
Ashton could see his wife thriving in this environment, especially since she’d made good on her plans to have sex in every state and every country they were visiting. And for a brief second, he imagined what it would be like if they immigrated.
But it was at night, on the quieter ones when they needed the peace away from the busy streets, when he was holding her tightly as she told him how much she missed their parents and Matty. It was too far and he knew that he’d get bored of a relaxed lifestyle.
Both of them made sure to send him postcards from every place they visited. When they had the chance to call, Matty was always crowing about how he was making a book so he could show his classmates where they’d been. Ashton had laughed and told him to wait till he saw his gifts.
January brought in the year 1999 and they crossed into mainland Europe on the channel tunnel. Ashton managed to surprise his wife with a hotel that overlooked the Eiffel tower as well as bookings for top restaurants in Paris before they ventured north into Belgium.
As much as they both missed riding the bikes back home, they’d gone with the sensible route of hiring a car, making their trips easier. It certainly helped that once they passed through Belgium into the Netherlands, they’d become adept at getting by.
It was certainly an experience for the Irwin’s, especially in Germany. As they travelled over to Berlin, they decided to make more days out of their trip. They knew that there was a time limit now, they needed to get back in time for Michelle to register for her fall classes.
With that in mind, they worked their way around Europe. From Germany they travelled through Poland and spent time in Warsaw before travelling down to Czechia so they could visit Prague before going through Slovakia and into Hungary. From there they went west into Austria before finally reaching Italy which had been one of their main destinations. The plan was to spend a month in Italy before travelling to Spain via France and then back to the UK once more.
The last few months seemed like a dream to both of them. Michelle almost regretted the fact that she had to go back for fall classes, but when they returned home greeted by their families when they arrived from the airport-suitcases in tow-it was a relieved Michelle who greeted their parents and her little brother, the four adults asking rapid fire questions to the younger couple.
Matty listened to both of their stories, the adventures that they had, the smaller trips that they made in the countries to the long drives. He was beside himself with glee when, after each story about each country, he was given small gifts from those countries.
Before either of them knew it, Michelle was back in the city and Ashton was back on his bike, joining the various smuggling runs that were going on.
The travelling had only heightened his instincts, stopping standard runs from turning into bloody massacres.
That was when Bert finally made his decision, knowing that after a few more years in the business, he’d be able to leave the club in safe hands.
-
Michelle fell back into her classes with ease. Although some of her classmates were the same, there were new faces as well.
Jen had come over for wine and dinner after the first week and thanked her for all of the beautiful postcards that had been sent to her.
“Did you really think you weren’t going to be kept up to date on my travels? Especially having so much sex all year?” They shared giggles as Michelle moved from her spot on the sofa, picking up one of the last few bags that she’d brought with her.
“What’s in the bag, Chelle?” Jen nearly dropped her wine as Michelle threw it to her.
“Open it and see.” Came the playful response as she retook her spot and Jen eyed her curiously before opening the bag.
Dipping her hand in, she pulled out the most beautiful scarf she’d ever seen, the colours vibrant and the fabric soft. Happily, the other woman abandoned her wine to really get a feel for the scarf, her eyes moving to Michelle in almost an awe like manner.
“Where did you get this from?” Jen breathed, placing the scarf on her lap before grabbing the bag to see if there was anything else. They were small trinkets; little snow globes and a small toy.
“I got the scarf when we were in Czechia. We met a lady in the UK who had recently travelled there and we’d told her that we were planning to go there as well. She told us to at least stop in Prague, collect some scarves as gifts. She said that she bought some for her daughter and nieces, and it’d been one of the better and more practical gifts.” Michelle explained as Jen stroked her fingers over the scarf once more.
“She’s certainly right. Oh I can’t wait to be able to wear this when it gets colder.” This prompted another giggle before they moved into the kitchen to eat.
The year began to fly by and as they started to venture into the courthouses, Michelle was beginning to win her cases that were presented. She was beginning to get recognised and requested, which had surprised her tutors, but they encouraged her, especially when Jen began to carve her own path.
It was no surprise to either women when they were offered Internships at different law firms, both of them surpassing the expectations of the class. Both offers had been made at the start of 2000, and both women toasted this to the start of a better decade.
It was the first year that she had all of their families come to visit during her summer off from university. Ashton stayed for the duration, her brother travelling up for the occasional weekend with Calum who did a few runs in between and kept Ashton up to date with things that couldn’t be discussed over the phone.
It was during this period when Ashton had a second moment of consideration to the thought of moving the club, but he knew that the police in the city weren’t so easy to bribe. Michelle had sensed his hesitation and when he mentioned it, the look on her face spoke volumes to him.
“If you do that Irwin, you’re not the man that I married. And anyway, you most likely won’t become the club President til long after I move back, so get those thoughts outta your head.”
And it was easy for him to switch them off, to forget that the thoughts even existed in his mind for a few moments. They were moments forgotten, replaced with moments of excitement at the prospect of his wife finally coming home.
When normality returned for Michelle in the fall, it only highlighted to her how much she missed her home. She may have lived in that house, but it wasn’t home by a long shot.
Her school years began to slip away from her. 2000 slipped into 2001, and as her days became routine, 2002 crept up on her. Life became steady for them both, despite their own disruptive lives with work and school on Michelle’s part and the club on Ashton’s part. But they worked through it.
Numerous times Calum showed up instead of Ashton, being her protective detail every so often which alerted her that things were happening back home which potentially put her in danger.
Sometimes he showed up without any warning and those were her favourite times, especially when Jen had taken a shining to Calum. Michelle had quietly warned her friend that Cal’s life was not for the faint of heart and Jen had smirked at her friend in reply before asking if she could show him around the city.
Michelle all but shoved him out of the door laughing when that had happened.
A few months on from that, she’d learned from Jen that she wasn’t after anything serious with Calum and they’d come to the mutual agreement for it after the first night. Michelle had only been partially relieved and still rolled her eyes whenever they crossed paths whilst he was there and they’d flirt as if they’d never met.
After a few months of this, some of the guys in her class had seen sides to the ladies that they never realised was there. It’d been a long week for Michelle, constantly on edge whenever her and Jen went out. That edge served her well when she spotted one of the guys from her course trying to convince her staggering friend to let him take her home.
She was certain his chest was sporting a bruise from her elbow.
Calum had shown up that weekend, and seeing her taut like a spring, he didn’t take long to convince her to go out with him.
“It’ll be safe, doll. Would Jen want to join us?” The surprise on his face as she scowled at the floor briefly was missed entirely by Michelle.
“It’s been a rough week for her. Let’s just go out, you and me. Like old times.” He snorted at that but nodded before she vanished upstairs to change.
Calum was unfamiliar with the bars, he’d not really bar hopped in the city before, but Michelle had a level of comfort and familiarity with some of the bartenders, so he let her lead the way.
Conversation was light and easy between the two. Calum knew to steer away from her cases and she knew better than to ask about any of the runs in such a public setting. But like always, there was something to talk about and more often than not, Michelle had taken to teasing him about Jen.
“Please tell me she told you that she got a noise complaint from her neighbours?” Calum laughed at that as he paid for their drinks. They were on bar three an the alcohol was leaving a pleasant buzz. Whereas Michelle was more likely to get herself plastered, Calum knew better, especially with the gun that was tucked into the back of his jeans.
“She failed to mention that to me. Maybe I should drop by tomorrow after I’ve had dinner with you, see if we can get another complaint before I head back.” Michelle laughed at the cheeky grin before she felt someone grab her arm.
“Stay with me sweetheart, you don’t need a gang banger like him for a night. I can show you a real good night if you’ll let me.” It took a minute for her to register the voice, her mind finally placing the name to his face as well.
“Fuck off Evan. You know I’m married.” She held up her left hand and he scoffed.
“Hey gang banger, you fucking her on the side or is she your main piece?” Fury ripped through Michelle but before she could verbally flay him, she felt Calum’s towering presence and smirked as Evan’s face dropped.
“You wanna say that about my sister again?” Panic in his eyes made Michelle snort as he tried to step back, but she stuck her foot out, making him stumble.
“Take it outside.” The bartender warned and Calum simply nodded, grabbing Evan by his jacket and pulling him outside. Michelle followed, making sure that he wouldn’t get himself arrested.
“Apologise to her now.” His voice was harsh with his demand and she watched in a stony silence as Evan stuttered out his apology.
“It was-was just a j-joke. I’m sorry if I-if I offended you.” Calum glanced back to Michelle and it finally hit her where she really recognised him from.
“You weren’t apologising last week when you tried to drag my friend home with you and ended up with my elbow in your chest. So no, that bullshit of an apology doesn’t float with me, sunshine.” She snapped, her eyes meeting Calum’s briefly.
It took a second for it to dawn on his face who she meant and he turned to face Evan.
“Maybe this will be a reminder of how not to treat women, piece of shit.” The first punch was landed before Evan could fight back, the second managed to make a cut and break his nose, blood dripping down. The third one knocked him out.
Michelle didn’t hesitate to hand him a napkin to clean off some of the blood before he offered his arm to her, making her snort as he gauged where they were for a second before going in the rough direction of where he knew her house was.
“So how are your parents doing? I know they asked after me when I didn’t come home again this summer.” Calum just laughed.
“They know that you’re in your last two years and with the Internship they don’t blame you for staying in the city. Momma Hood wants you back for Christmas this year, no arguments. Keeps saying the town feels too empty without you.” This had her groaning but also agreeing with his mother's demand.
No one could say to his mom and not feel guilty. She learned the trick of making people feel like they’d kicked a puppy if they said no to her.
When school recommenced in the fall, she’d spoken with Charlie, her employer, and managed to request that she have the following summer off to return home, and the agreement was in principal, as long as she remained contactable for any cases that they needed the full team or a fresh set of eyes for.
It worked in her favour that she rarely took any vacation time off and had been available last minute for some of their bigger cases. With that promise of the summer off, Charlie also told her that there was going to be a position on his team, waiting for her once she graduated.
That news had been welcomed gleefully and gratefully accepted.
Getting to the last year was going to be a breeze, especially knowing that she had a job waiting for her on the other side of her studies. For now, she was content to get to the summer and finally get some time off with her family and spend time with her little brother.

"Yacht Girl Theory for sure" You think she met Harry as a yatch girl? So many royals and celebs hire girls to just have a casual affair. For example in Spain some months ago it was uncovered a prostitution plot where some celebs were hired by Arabs and Asiatic princes, they talked about a European prince, presidents/prime minister, etc. And it was told as the more normal thing. I hire you for a week to have an affair and then it's finished. That's it. So you think Meghan could be one?
I think she met Harry BECAUSE she was a yacht girl. The circles she was running in had connections to Harry’s group and yachting. Like Marcus and Misha...and there was one more. It was a woman she was seen in Soho riding bikes with that Meghan ghosted. Articles said Harry forbade Meghan to have anything to do with her because the woman was a known gossip but I think there was more to it than that.
I think Meghan was hired in the past but not by billionaires or princes/rulers. She doesn’t have the looks, resume, or age that most of them prefer. She was most likely hired by those with money but in the millions and no one with much importance.
I posted about this a while back. My good friend’s husband has some high profile friends in HW and he confirmed that the models hired to drape themselves on these guys’ arms are paid for...no one really cares because the girl gets exposure and rent money and the guy is surrounded by gorgeous women. Basically the Playboy House and Hugh Hefner.

Lover Boy - JJ Maybank x OC - Part Nine - Pogue Style
Word Count: 3.1K
Summary: Aria has the time of her life with JJ and the Pogues.
Warnings: Making out, explosions, implied smut, cursing, and the Pogues doing crazy shit I guess
A/N: I had a blast writing this one. I just love the Pogues and their chaotic energy. Sorry for not posting for a few days. I’m taking my time writing these parts and I’m still trying to figure out where I want this to go. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy! (Not my GIF. Credits to the owner. I don't own the show or any of the characters.)
Lover Boy Series Masterlist
I’m starting to believe that the past is actually coming back to bite me in the ass. It has been a couple of months of Jennifer being gone. She still calls me occasionally to see how I’m doing along with the family and everyone else. Lately, my parents from my understanding are giving her space. However, they’ve been arguing a lot lately, and when they’re not, they are avoiding each other. I couldn’t help but notice that my dad hasn’t been around the house lately, not that I’m complaining, but it has been making me suspicious. He’s been acting a bit weird lately. He works on the mainland, so normally he’s only here on the weekends, but now here’s rarely ever here.
Today was just another normal day around the house. I’m currently doing homework at the kitchen island, while mom is cooking dinner and talking to Damian. Everything was going just great until the front door slammed shut. All three of us look up in confusion. In charges a very angry Claude. None of got the chance to ask what was wrong before he plucked my phone from my hands and threw it across the room. The sound of a shattered screen could be heard throughout the house.
“What the fuck?!” I yell, which surprises me. Normally I don’t have the guts to yell at my dad. “You lying little bitch!” He shouts. “Claude! What is wrong with you?! My mom yells. “She has been lying to all of us this whole time!” He shouts. “What the hell are you talking about?” Asked Damian. “I just got off the phone with the private investigator. He knows you dropped Jennifer off at the ferry. He’s seen the text messages between you guys.” His words make me freeze. Everyone’s eyes were on me.
“Are you kidding me? You hired a private investigator to find her? When are you going to take the hint that she doesn’t want to see you?” I spit. “I don’t care what she wants! And I don’t appreciate you going behind my back and helping Jennifer run away.” His eyes filled with rage. “For god’s sake dad, she’s a grown woman! She’s not obligated to live here! She’s finally happy! Just leave her alone!” I quickly gather my things. “You’re not going anywhere. You tell me where she is!” He follows after me. I sprint to my car and lock the doors. I jump high when his body slams against the vehicle.
“This isn’t over! Get out the fucking car right now!” I speed away leaving my dad yelling to the top of his lungs. That man needs some serious help. I pick up the cracked phone. My screen is completely shattered and the phone itself is barely working, much to my dismay. I wanted to call JJ, but that idea was thrown out the window, like my phone, so I just continued to drive towards the chateau hoping that JJ was there.
I pull up to see that the van wasn’t anywhere near the fish shack, but I was more than delighted to see JJ’s bike parked. I check his room, having no luck, so I go outside and follow the sound of music. I find him resting in the hammock, vape in hand, and blanket covering his body from the brisk air. “Hey babe.” I greet him, making his head snap towards me. “Hey, babygirl. Wasn’t expecting to see you. C’mere.” He made room for me and lifted the blanket. “You’re like the best boyfriend ever. You know that?” I snuggle into his warmth. He just smirks. “I know. You moaning my name already says enough.” I lightly smack his chest, before taking a hit from his vape.
“We should runaway together.” I suggest. This catches his attention. “Where did you have in mind beautiful?” I take a couple seconds to think. “Somewhere tropical. Like Spain, Italy, Greece or Monaco. I’ve always wanted to see Europe. We can have a little house on the beach. We can get that dog you’ve always wanted. Fix up that Chevy Camaro. Think about it baby. Wake up to have morning sex, then shower sex, make breakfast, surf all day, have beach sex, drive for a little while, have dinner, then end the night with even more sex.” I ramble on. This makes him laugh. “Someone’s horny. But that does sound nice.”
“Of course, it does. I came up with it.” I let the weed relax my body, enjoying the high. “What brought this on anyways?” He asked curious. “Oh, the usual. My dad being an asshole. Fucking threw my phone across the room.” “What crawled up his ass?” “He found out I helped Jennifer runaway.” I sigh. “How?” “He apparently hired a private investigator, fucking psycho. He’s such a control freak. She’s in her early twenties, if she wants to live in Boston, who cares? Hell, I just turned eighteen and he thinks he has complete control over me still.” I huff.
“I know the feeling babe. Trust me, once we finish school, we’ll be out of here before you know it. We can fuck each other all day with no cock blocking.” The two of us laugh. We let the time pass as we vape and kiss. The kissing soon escalated into a full blown make out session. His tongues slips into my mouth while his hands find my ass making me giggle. I let my hands venture under his shirt, feeling his nicely toned body. “Jesus shit your hands are freezing.” He shivers. “I can think of a few ways to keep each other warm.” I say suggestively, before connecting our lips again. He rolls on top of me, trapping me under him. He attacks my neck with kisses.
“Cool off you two!” A voice interrupts our session, along with a water gun, hitting JJ’s back. The two of us looks up to see the whole group of pogues along with Sarah. “When the hell did this happen?” John B asked, water gun still in his hands. “Oh, you mean the make out session? A few minutes ago.” JJ attempts to dodge the question. “Not that dipshit. You guys dating. How long has that been going on?” JJ’s face scrunched trying to remember. “Like since that get together at Charis’s.” Both Pope and John B’s eyes nearly popped out.
“About time you two came out.” Said Kie. The two clueless boys whip their heads towards her. “You knew?” They asked astonished. “Yeah, so did Sarah and Charis.” “So much for no secrets among pogues.” Muttered Pope. “Sorry to interrupt your guys’ dumbassery, but can I help you? We were kind of in the middle of something.” JJ interrupts. “As a matter of fact, yes. We were planning on doing some stupid shit. You two in? Or are you guys just going to sit here and bump uglies all day?” John B aimed the water gun at us. “Okay! We’ll join you guys! Just put the damn thing down.” We got up from the hammock. “That’s the spirit. Now, get it in the van children.” He smiles. “Spoken like a true pedophile.” Says Pope.
I think it’s fair to say that I was not expecting the day to go like this, but it’s better than going home. “So, what are we doing?” I asked still unclear what the guys were planning. “Well, for starters we’re hitting up the store, Kie and Sarah were nice enough to offer to buy food and drinks, and then the rest is a surprise.” Explains John B. “This should be interesting.” Says JJ. The six of us jump out of the van and stroll our way into the store, ready to terrorize the isles and poor shoppers.
We grab a shopping cart. Sarah jumps into it after calling dibs, earning a glare from the store clerk. We head straight to the candy isle, burying Sarah in M&Ms, Watermelon Sour Patch Kids, Kit Kats, Jolly Ranchers, Skittles, Pop Rocks, Twizzlers, Hubba Bubba and Snickers. “We’re overdosing tonight guys.” Smiles Sarah. We then grab a bunch of chips. Our next stop was the snack isle. John B grabs a shitload of Cheez Its, while Pope grabs fruit snacks. At one point, I had Kie on my shoulders as she attempted to grab a box of Gushers sitting at the top shelf.
“Welp, I think that’s everything guys.” Says Kie, motioning to Sarah, here head the only body part that’s visible due to being buried by all the junk food. “I can’t move guys.” She laughs. As we make our way towards the checkout, we spot Rafe, Kelce and Topper along with more friends talking. JJ gets this brilliant idea to grab the store speaker phone and disguises his voice before announcing, “Paging Topper Thornton. I repeat Topper Thornton. We have your order of extra small condoms ready at the front desk. Thank you.” We all rush to the check-out to pay for our things giggling, before Topper and his friends come to beat our asses. Once we reach the parking lot, we all burst out laughing.
“Did you guys see his face?” JJ asked wheezing as we loaded the groceries into the vehicle. “Maybank! I’m gonna kill you!” We look over to see Rafe, Kelce, Topper and the rest of the crew charging towards us. We all quickly gather into the van, barely escaping from the Kook death squad. “Yo, John B! Slow down a little!” JJ commands before grabbing a snickers and a condom out of his wallet, before opening the side door, to see Topper on our tails.
“Here man have a snickers! Oh, and here’s a much larger condom for you man! Don’t worry you’ll grow into it eventually!” He laughs chucking them at the poor kook. “Screw you dirty pogues!” He yells as we drive off laughing. This is way better than sitting at home. Together we laugh, sang and ate as John B drove us to the surprise location. After a while, we all grew impatient, wondering where the hell he’s taking us, as we look out to see we’re practically out in the middle of nowhere on the island. We finally reach a location, of what looks like an abandoned amusement park.
“Where the hell are we?” Asked JJ, who’s head sat in my lap. “Exactly what it looks like. The OBX Fair Grounds. It’s been abandoned for like over a decade now. It’s the perfect place to do a bunch of stupid shit.” John B smiled feeling accomplished. I must say it was definitely fun to have the whole park to ourselves and boy did we have some fun. Such as, climbing roller coasters that were definitely not stable, venturing into creepy mirror mazes, and drinking on the carousel, while playing a good game of Cards Against Humanity.
As of now, me and the girls are playing another round when the boys came back rolling a bunch of bumper cars. That’s when John B and JJ begin setting them at the top of this small hill. “What the hell are you guys doing?!” I asked bewildered. “We’re gonna race these bad boys down the hill. Winner gets a twenty!” Shouts John B. “I’ll squirt you guys on the way down!” Pope yells holding up the water gun. “I highly recommend you don’t do that!” Yells Sarah. “Don’t worry! Those bushes over there should stop the cars.” Says JJ. It’s at times like this where I wonder how I ended up dating a literal five-year-old. “That doesn’t sound right babe!” I yell. Kie just scoffs. “JJ! I think what your girlfriend is trying to say is that you guys are a bunch of fucking morons!” She yells.
“Fuck off!” Yells JJ, earning an eye roll for Kie. “It’s a miracle that men aren’t extinct, due to the stupid shit they do.” Says Kie, which Sarah and I nod our heads to as we watch the two boys situate their selves in the number carts. “On your mark. Get set…go!” The boys push their cars, speeding down the hill screaming. John B’s car begins to drift. “You’re gonna crash!” Sarah yells to her boyfriend. “No, I’m not!” Not even 3 seconds later, he crashes into a gate, earning a cackle from JJ. “Suck on that loser, better get that twenty-“ JJ doesn’t get to finish his sentence when his car crashes through what looks like a closed off booth. “Dumbass.” Mutters Kie.
“You guys okay?” I asked. The two just got up and whooped. “Let’s do that again!” Shouts John B. “Holy shit! Guys I just found a bunch of fireworks.” JJ grabs one and points at the booth. “Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s light these bad boys up!” JB yells as all the boys run back up to us. “Yes, John B. Let’s let everyone know that we’re setting off fireworks in the abandoned amusement park that we’re currently trespassing.” Kie said in a sarcastic tone.
“How about this, we’ll just set off one, and take the rest of them back home?” Pope suggests. “Those things are like a decade old. Do they even work?” I asked. JJ just smirks. “Only one way to find out.” He says and proceeds to light the rocket. We all stand back as the spark is close to reaching its end, only for the rocket to fall over, aiming for the whole firework shack. “Oh shit!” “Fuck!” “Run!” All of us curse and begin to run the other way. The rocket shoots into the direction of the shack, before exploding. It then sets off a chain reaction, making all the fireworks go off at the same time, exploding the whole firework tent.
The sound of the all the fireworks going off at once and the explosion makes me cover my ears as we all continue to run and scream, attempting to make distance between us and the explosion. It felt like a long time before the sound of exploding fireworks came to a halt. We decide to look back, only to find that the tent had caught on fire, along with some more standing by it. The black smoke begins to cloud the sky. All of us stand there in pure shock.
“What the hell did you do JJ?” Screamed Kie. “That wasn’t my fault! It malfunctioned!” He defended himself. “Guys, not the best time to argue! We need to get the hell out of here! The cops and fire department have probably already been notified of the explosion and fire going on right now! And we’re a ways away from where we parked.” Pope distinguished the conversation. “Let’s haul ass people!” JB shouts and no one hesitates to resume to running.
All of our lungs began to burn, sweat was beading down our bodies, and our legs were close to giving out as we ran across half of the damn park, before reaching the van. That’s when we hear the nearby sirens. “Everyone in?” JB and Sarah look back to make sure no one was left behind. “GO, GO, GO!” We all scream, the van’s tires make a screeching noise and all of us are thrown back as we speed away from the scene. All of us sit back as we try to catch our breath, adrenaline pumping through our veins. JB decides to take a different route, hoping to avoid the authorities.
“Holy shit. Did that seriously just happen?” I asked still in shock, I must be fucking dreaming. This is not how I thought my day would be turning out. “Hell yeah! Pogue style baby! That’s what I’m taking about!” JJ smiles and puts his arm around me. We all began to laugh at how crazy and ridiculous the whole situation was. Our moment is cut off by Sarah’s phone ringing. “Who’s that?” Asked JB. “It’s Charis. Hello?” Sarah puts her on speaker.
“What the fuck did you pyromaniacs do?” Charis’s voice could be heard throughout the van, making all of us giggle. “What are you talking about?” Sarah plays dumb. “I’m talking about that big ass explosion and smoke in the sky that everyone can see!” She shouts. “Oh that? That wasn’t us.” Sarah played it off all nonchalant. “Bullshit.” “Oh, c’mon Charis. Why would we be start going around blowing up shit?” Asked John B. “Why wouldn’t you guys start going around blowing up shit?! And why wasn’t I invited?!” We all started laughing at Charis. “Uh oh, I’m losing signal. I’ll call you back later. Love you. Bye!” Sarah hangs up the phone.
“Is this a normal day for you guys?” I asked. “Pretty much.” Everyone says at the same time. Damn, I should’ve started hanging out with these guys a long time ago. I have never had this much fun in my whole life. The whole way home we all screamed and sang along to our favorite songs, until we pulled up to the chateau. We all exit the vehicle, still pumped up, so we decided to start a bonfire. Despite the fact that we already started one.
We all sat around the fire roasting some hot dogs and marshmallows. I was snuggled into JJ’s lap, blanket wrapped around the two of us. He takes his roasted marshmallow, before smearing some on my cheek. I look up at him before smearing some of mine on his nose. He leans down and crashes his lips against mine in a sweet kiss. “Get a room you two!” JB throws a marshmallow at the two of us. JJ just gives him the finger. He hugs me tighter nuzzling his face into the crook of my neck. “I don’t want you to go home.” He whispers placing a kiss on my neck. “I’m not going back home. At least not tonight. I don’t feel like dealing with my dad and his bullshit.” I yawn before taking a sip of my beer.
“You tired?” He asked. “Nah, the night is still young.” I yawn once more, making him chuckle. “C’mon, let’s go to bed.” He pulls me off the ground, wrapping his arm around me, my arm hooks around his waist. The pogues begin to make moaning noises. “Mm, JJ fuck me.” “Fuck! Right there baby.” “Harder JJ!” “Give me that Big J!” They all teased, earning another finger from JJ. “Night you horny shits.” He waves them off. “Night!” They all say.
The two of us, make our way to his room knocking into stuff, a little drunk. The two of us giggle as he picks me up and kicks the door shut before throwing me onto the bed. We throw our clothes off across the room. “I’m still kinda feeling the adrenaline rush.” He confesses as he litters my breasts with kisses. “Then let’s put that energy to good use.” I suggest, before biting my lip trying to contain my moan when he finds my sweet spot. “Let them hear babygirl. Let the whole world hear. I need to make sure they all know you’re mine.” He kisses my lips. “I’m forever yours.”

Ducati 250/350 Desmo The mono fortissimo In the early 70 s, at the time of sophisticated Japanese Japanese, what could push a biker to buy a 350 cylinder with dated aesthetics and a brief finish. A Ducati simply.
In the 60 s, the 250/350 s were the queen cylinder capacity. In this category, Italians had specialized in sports bikes such as the or Ducati. The latter were led by a 4-stroke vertical cylinder with a 4-stroke vertical single cylinder from the competition engines designed by Fabio Taglioni, the engineer engine of the old firm bolognese. A new range composed of the 250 Diana and then the 350 Sébring! Fast, Italian-style bikes (140 and 150 km / h) fine, Italian style, which covered a lot of 50 cc sports at the time. If it wasn't the volume of their cylinder, we could have imagined it was only 125 cc Around 1967, the appearance of Japanese women, including the Suzuki 250 T20 and Kawa Avanger, over 30 hp, brutally ridèrent the beautiful Italian. Tagiolini used its large single cylinder in the sense of robustness (large housing), which first made it possible to extrapolate a 450 cc version and then increase its power. To do this, he adopted a desmodromic, a technique which he had already used in racing in 1958. By delaying the panic of valves using cams and closing, this technology allowed engine and power power gain. This desmodromic distribution was first proposed on the 350 now announcing 29 hp, then extended to the 250 push to 23 hp. bolognese sauce Ducati were fine, low, narrow and light (130 kilos). Except for their engine, there wasn't much else on these pretty short bikes. In fact, a Ducati was mostly a mechanics whose original drawing attracted the eye of the aficionados. Strange cocktail of modernity and seniority due to its small external oil pipes linked to the big tube of the cams. Or by the round shape of its sharp head with the square cylinders of the Japanese, from which the tower-account cable is covered with the racing scent, all placed on a large to. Both definitely. It wasn't just the engine that used the oil, but the motorcycle was full from floor to ceiling. With its long and narrow tank tank, its bracelet handlebar from which an imposing mechanical tower with a imposing Compétizione white dial, which unfortunately disappeared in 1974, its tiny mud guard, short backsplash saddle, remote controls, a Desmo, was flying his nose in the T of the steering brake. Not exactly the perfect bike to go get bread! Every time his pilot climbed on it, he felt like he was starting a race. Delicate start because the engine was very tablets and not greedy in vicious returns of kick, omnipresent sound omnipresent especially in today's context with a real 4-stroke and serious 4-stroke sound, hard box with five long reports demanding to wax the clutch. Add the destructive vibes that devisaient the mirror and cisaillaient the mud guards after crossing his pilot's body. How many Ducatiste was driving, without knowing, without a license plate lost during the road!
"A rail" The rest was pure happiness. Thanks to its carrier engine, which played a significant role in the stiffness of the interrupted frame, Ducati was a rail. An enchantment. A surprisingly agile and rigid motorcycle with an amazing cap outfit. She was placed with a kidney and she wasn't moving. Starting at 5000 rpm, the needle of the towers will be well on the red line of the towers account. Not a Japanese, even bigger cylinder capacity, was able to hang it on winding roads. She was a queen!
One of my friends was running on the handlebar of a Ducati 250 customer competition that was characterised by an extraordinary road outfit due to a specific double crib frame that made it a not ridiculous machine despite its 27/28 hp to blow everything. provided the cams are well stuck because this operation was a ceremony. But the famous frame didn't do everything! He had hired her at the French GP 1967 in Charade. " I was full in the descent of Gravenoire, scared green, over 170 miles an hour at almost 8000 laps when I heard a serious explosion right in my ears. It was Mike Haywood passing me with his 6 Honda and at least 70 more miles followed by two more severe explosions. Read and Yvy Yamaha 4 were chasing him. Trust me, it leaves memories " In addition to being led by princes of the hustle, the Japanese will be more than twice as much as their little Ducati.
Strong coffee! In the early 70 s, the 250/350 Desmo received a more modern silver Café Racer style. In 74, they adopted a new delivered signed Tartarini in the form of a beautiful orange dress and only at the end of life, they would brake a front brake with a Bembo disc, more fashion than its old double drum with a diameter of 180 not so bad. They disappeared in 1975 from Italy but continued their career in Spain as Motrotans until 1981. The 250/350 Ducati who had made their time were not replaced because customers now preferred bigger -. Fortunately, the Ducati 750 Desmo at the twin in L that replaced them, kept their endearing personality which it passed on to the most recent Monster 1200. Legends of Legends
01 If it wasn't the size of its engine, the 350 Ducati was thinking more about a 125 cc
02 Born in 1964, the Diana 250 was the fastest motorcycle of its cylinder capacity with more than 140 km / h
03 The ultimate 350 Desmo 72/74 restyles by Tartarini in Café Racer _ the 160 km / h. They had a front disc brake for their final year of production in 1975
04 An engine? No, a sculpture with the cam tree mounted tube and the small external oil pipes
05 The Scrambler version, trail before the time, met a good commercial success.
