Lunch in Space (Part 3)
You always hear about these people who have EVA accidents and they tell you how laser-focused they were, in maintaining a cool and calm demeanour so they could follow the old Observe, Analyse, React model.
Which jsut goes to show how tricky memory is because the suit recordings all start the same way mine did:
Sound: [Bang] Sound: [AAaaaaAAAAAaaaaAAAAaaaa! F***! S***!]
Look, it's confusing. You start by sort of floating in your suit thinking about those little purple rolls they serve in the Caf, and then everything is spinning and it feels like your legs are being pinched.
Ever had a blood pressure test? It feels like that, from your feet all the way to your hips. It's to make sure all the blood doesn't get centrifuged out of your brain.
Then you dig your thumbs into the little slot with the emergency buttons and push down until they decide you really mean it and then the auto-compensators stop you from spinning.
Then you start looking for leaks. Oscar, or whatever you named your suit will tell you right away. I had a small leak, easily repaired with Space Tape once I yanked a chunk of crud out of the way. There was a big gash in the impact plate that is part of Oscar's outermost layer. It's designed to distribute an impact and be somewhat ablative. the tip of some debris had gone all the way through and nicked the inner layer.
Space Tape has vacuum-rated adhesive, is shiny as heck and after I spudged some sealant into the gash, the tape went over the top as both insurance and a way to indicate to any rescue party that there was a potential yadda yadda. Look, you've done the safety course.
Step 2: Orient and Bitch.
Easy enough. Half a turn to the left and yo, there's the station. Or a little green box around the fuzzy little cloud of navigation hazard.
"Oscar, calculate return vector, and current free orbit." said I.
Oscar thinks about that, does a whole bunch of range-finding, math, and parallax, and then tells me that if I totally empty my tanks I can do pretty much nada about catching back up.
The docking frame took the impact instead of e.g. pretty much all the stuff that was keeping me alive right now: A quick read on the sun suggests that's the cooling unit at the moment. The station was already a little dot, twinkling in a pretty way as it vanished into the endless night.
The emergency kit has a spring wire thermal blanket in it. I tethered one corner to Oscar, and let it unfold, putting it between me and the sun. Also now I just made myself way easier to track. Like I needed that? If we were down to only RADAR or looking for shiny crap, we weren't going to make it anyway.
I think they make these checklists boring so you won't have anxiety about falling into infinite space with some tape covering the hole in your life support system while clamped to a bent out-of-shape utility lift, while hiding behind a couple of grams of plastic sprayed with metal vapour.
I mean it's not the first time. It's just the first time it wasn't a training exercise.
Elapsed time: About 5 minutes. Check in time. Station was loud and clear five bars, waiting for me to call in: "Station, this is Delta Zeta on impact trajectory calling in an untethered excursion. Systems are yellow, Stellar shield is deployed. Currently encumbered by the docking stanchion and lift plate. Pilot is green. I have a controlled outgassing event. Please advise. Over."
Station responds right away, so hey they're all still there too, meaning the communications are up and they aren't busy getting Kesslered. Good To Know™️. "Delta Zeta, this is EVA command. We read a trailing orbit. You're green for Three Eight, period five hours. We read Life Support for One Four, no obstacles. We are currently leading a large volume of navigational hazard. At this time we recommend waiting for safety intercept leading approach. Do you copy, Over?"
I consider this like there's an actual choice. "I copy Station: Big cloud of crap behind you, five hours until you sneak up on my sorry ass. Be advised that I will not be picking up a pizza while out. Over"
Station comes back: "Be advised that lack of pizza may result in a lower recovery priority. Over."
So yeah. They just said they had too much shit floating around behind them to safely get a rescue drone out, and I'm moving away from them.
In five hours their orbit will bring them up behind me, where the debris field isn't and they can pick me up. I have power and air to try this twice, and if they miss I have thirty-eight orbits before I'll de-orbit. Given that I have fourteen hours before my power or air runs out and I either cook, freeze or suffocate, that part isn't something I need to worry about.
"Grak!" I say. Oscar's little icon does a couple of colour and pattern changes: A blush at the use of profanity, Atrix style.
"Copy that." Station says. Oops. Hot mic.
"See you in five. Over and out." I say and put a movie on. I pick Gravity, the re-make they actually shot in Earth Orbit, not the Atrix version. I have a sick twisted sense of humour.
I'd jsut got to the good bit with the Indian Space Station, when my stellar shield suddenly jerked and flipped around, a little hole punched through it. Then another and another.
Around that point something hit my life support and things got really distracting...

Omgomgomgomg. THIS!!!!!
Yes to the time blindness, obviously. But calculating in my head the approximation of other measurements? Also broken!
This effects my driving in particular as while I have binocular vision and therefore depth perception, fuck me if I can translate what I see into useful information. If I’m trying to pull out of a side street and see a car coming along the street I’m turning onto, I cannot tell how far away it is OR how fast it is coming at me. This has lead to one (1) crash with my little compact vs a metro bus because I genuinely thought it was farther away than it was. Since then, I err on the side of caution and give myself probably WAY more room than “normal” people need, but I’m not dead, so I’ll take the win. (This does tend to annoy any passengers with me or cars stuck behind me but not dead yet, so still a win.)
I’ve also had some weird issues with my proprioception (the brain’s sense of where your body is in relation to the world and how it it moving). I dunno if it’s a processing error or what but I have NEVER been able to tell where my body parts are in relation to the world around me with as keen a sense as seems to be expected. As a child (and an adult), this has lead to me being incredibly “clumsy” as I bump into and knock over things I had no I idea I was even near. When I was little, I was constantly running into furniture and stubbing my toes on things (as an aside, I’ve got tiny little toes on big honking feet and I always joke that they stopped growing out of self preservation when I was a kid because of how often I was jamming them into furniture). My parents kept telling me to “look up! look ahead to see where you are going!” Except that always did the opposite of help. What worked, and what they kept telling me to not do, was looking down - at my feet - actively watching where they were as I walked. A table leg comes into view? Then I can then move around it, placing my feet where I know are empty spots on the floor. All looking/facing forward did for me was ensure I hit every piece of furniture I tried to walk around as I couldn’t calculate where they ended and I began when I wasn’t directly looking at them.
Still true today. I have permanent bruises on my forearms from hitting the doorknobs of every door in the hallway in my house, every time I walk down the hall, every-damn-day. I know they are there, and I generally try to walk in the middle of the hall away from the walls, but unless I am 100% actively paying attention and have my eyes scanning the walls for the protruding knobs like land mines on a battlefield, I will inevitably run into one (and often flinch away from it, knocking into its diabolical brother on the opposite wall with my other arm).
I also knock shit off tables and counters more than our cats do, even while not realizing I was within touching distance of the table in question. I’m so glad I never got into sports because my dad tried to get me to sign up for soccer/football and that just sounds like a nightmare of hilarious pratfalls and kicking teammates in the head.
Also? Whenever I see a description of someone’s height said in a way that is supposed to help identify them (like descriptions in ‘wanted for questioning’ bulletins on the news), I was always like yeah? And? How is knowing the guy is 6’1” supposed to be an identifier? It took me years to realize that other people…. Can actually approximate others heights just by looking at them (to greater or lesser accuracy)? Best I can do is a comparison: is this guy taller or shorter than Aundre the Giant? Shorter? Ok!
I still use the middle section of my pointer finger to approximate an inch and the length of my pinky nail for a centimeters in a pinch. Can’t figure out a yard since I hit puberty and it no longer lands on a distinct place on my body. Somewhere between my ribs and my hip” is not helpful.
Trying to guess distances is a craps shoot. A mile? What’s that? Asking me how far away something is is like one of those math problems: Well, I started in Pallet Town and was going back roads at about 45 mph for most of it, except for when I got stuck behind that mail man for a while, but then I got onto the interstate out of Vermilion City and got up to 70mph for the rest of the trip to Cerulean City. I was listening to my best bombastic playlist during the whole thing and got half way through when I arrived. The entire playlist is 3 hours and 19 minutes long. So it’s about an hour and a half away? (No, time is not a form of distance measurement, yes I will answer that question in time instead.)
Fun to know all this bullshit could very well be ADHD related and not just me being 🤪.
A lot of us with ADHD are familiar with the concept of time blindness, but for anyone who isn't: it's a neurological inability to have a consistent sense of the passage of time. If you put me in an empty room, gave me a button and told me to press it when I think it's been 15 minutes, I might press it after..... idk, anywhere between 3 minutes and 2 hours? And if we repeated it the next day the result would probably be wildly different!
But something I've only seen mentioned in one (1) Reddit post, which took some extensive digging to find, is the same effect extending to ALL things measured in numbers. Distance, weight, length, height, amount, space, volume, percentage... For me, small numbers are a bit easier, I could approximate a centimetre probably, but a metre would be much harder and 10 or 100 would likely miss the mark by a lot. Also, anything that can't be easily measured with a ruler or a measuring tape (like weight or volume) is even harder since I don't encounter reference points (like a 1kg hand weight) for those as frequently as I see visual representations of specific lengths.
It's not dyscalculia or anything like that, I'm decent at math (and the OP of the Reddit post was a math major) and I have no other difficulties with numbers, it's just a disconnect in translating real life experiences like sensory input into numbers (and possibly also inconsistent processing of sensory input? Like how the same sound volume is okay one day but hurts my ears the next?), which I think is basically the same thing as what happens with time blindness. For now I've been calling it "measurement blindness" since I've never seen a name for it anywhere, but maybe "quantity blindness" could also work?
I've talked to other people with time blindness to see if they experience this too, but so far none of them have known what I'm talking about. I'd really like to know how many of us are out there and if anyone knows literally anything actually scientific about this very inconvenient phenomenon!
Tl;dr: bc I am wordy:
It's like time blindness but for all things measured in numbers
Not dyscalculia or caused by it
Pretty much never seen it talked about anywhere
Please tell me if it sounds familiar and/or you know something about it, thank

A Wilted Flower
Pairing: Peter B. Parker x reader
Summary: Peter gave up after MJ broke his heart. His big heart now wilting away as he silently waits for her to come back. You know she won’t. So you sit by him as he waits, picking up the pieces in the process.
Word Count: ~1K
A/N: My friend has been on a Spiderman craze. Specifically Spiderman angst. So I decided why not join her. Also wanted to give Peter B. Parker the recognition he deserves.
Warnings: Just a sad peter smoking away his problems; his broken heart
Tumblr media
“Put that out, Peter.”
He was just sitting there. His back resting wearily against the brick wall.
The smoke left his cracked, chewed lips. You saw the cigarette bud flicker to the ground.
You rested your head and bicep against the brick wall of the alley by your apartment. Your feet and arms were crossed.
This was Peter’s new hidden spot to pout.
The hard surface made permanent marks on his back and worn down suit. The white, dangling Christmas lights, left up all year long, showing off the shadow on his chin.
Another sigh came from your lips. That sound became too familiar as the days went by.
His knees were pulled up to his chest. The never-washed grey sweatpants became a part of his new look.
His stare never moved from the identical brick wall, across from him. You wondered if he acquired a new superpower of laser vision. He was starting to burn holes through everything with his hazy, focused stare.
“She's not coming back.”
Another common phrase that rang in your ear, that stuck to your lips, day after day. It got old fast. You had enough.
Your feet uncrossed. Your foot nudged his thigh. You knew he wasn't listening. His spider senses became numb to him a few months ago.
You heard his whiny sigh. You rolled your eyes. You knew MJ wasn’t coming back. He knew that too.
His big, dumb heart always got in the way of his brain.
Your eyes came back from its annoyed circle to see another puff of smoke left his lips. You were done with his crap.
You pushed yourself off the wall. Your fingers pinched the cigarette from his fingers and you threw it down on the ground. Very hard.
Your foot smashed out the flame. You needed to put out the flame he had for MJ before he ruined his life.
Peter didn’t even try to fight as he saw you throw his relief to the ground. You glared at him to see a reaction. His lips had become stuck in a permanent frown. You never saw anything more.
He shrugged at your over exaggerated performance. He crossed his arms over his legs, used as his new comfort as a pillow. He was tired.
You were tired of him. You grew tired of what he became.
He was your friend. You couldn’t just let him wither away. You knew everything about him.
You knew the way he smiled when he talked on and on about MJ’s beautiful eyes.
There was a constant reminder of MJ's favorite flavor of ice cream because the stacked amount of rocky road in his apartment freezer was unreal.
He loved to see her smile as he always brought her a bouquet of flowers when he swung home from a night of patrol.
You knew she loved daylilies.
His disheveled Spiderman look rushed to your apartment. He pounded on the wooden door for a hurried response from you. He needed your opinion.
The only word that left his lips was flowers.
You smiled as you said, “Girls love daylilies. Get her some after your patrol tonight. I know it will make her day.”
His cheeks puffed up a little as you saw his teeth come through his lips from his smile.
He kissed your cheek in payment as he ran from your apartment door.
Almost slipped as he skipped joyfully down your hallway.
You waved at him, as you saw him turn the corner.
—-
He was so grateful to have you as his friend. You knew everything.
Or it was because you also loved daylilies.
You loved Peter. As much as he loved MJ.
So you couldn’t let him wither away like a flower.
No one wanted to lose his beautiful smile. Because someone wouldn’t be able to figure out what kind of flower he liked if he didn’t get up and let his heart be seen.
You wanted to do that.
Your arms were crossed, your hip jutted out. Almost a parent-like stance shadowed his curled-up form. You knew you had to do something.
One of your knees hit the ground before him. Hands reached out to grab his heavy head. You leaned it back to see his closed, sleep-ridden eyes. A layer of smoke covered his cheeks, as you felt it cover your fingers.
“Pete, please look at me.”
You hoped he could hear you. The sounds of MJ’s “we need a break” words probably still rung in his ear after she broke it off with him. You didn’t know what he wanted to listen to.
Maybe he didn’t have a choice. But you wanted him to have that choice. To be able to stand up and be who he wanted to be, or who he was before.
The beloved, sweet Peter you always knew him as.
His eyes cracked slightly open. His eyes still hazed over from sleep deprivation.
He gave up.
“I know you still love her. And I know that somewhere in that big heart of yours you still believe that she will come walking down this alleyway. Her arms wide open running to you, pleading to take you back.”
You saw a bit of hope in his eyes. You also saw a small tear run down his cheek. His lips quivered as you gave him that sense of false imagination he craved for himself. He waited for you to continue.
“But she isn’t coming back. We both know that. So I need you to try. I need you to get up Peter. Please don’t give up. Because that big heart of yours is still beating in there. And someone else might want to see that beat faster again. I know you miss that feeling.”
You saw his cheeks now washed with tears that streamed down his cheeks. No one even cared that he gave up. He pushed everyone away. That included you. He didn’t realize he wanted someone to come to look for him.
No one ever did.
Until you noticed. You always noticed.
Your thumbs tried to wipe the tears from his face. You waited for his response. For even a sigh, a cry for help to come from his quivering lips.
You heard a small mumble come from his lips. It wasn’t audible to anyone close to the alleyway. Only for you to hear.
“Please help me. I want my heart to beat again.”
So you sent a smile to him from your lips. You brought his cheek to your lips as you pressed a soft kiss to it. A promise to him.
“I promise Peter. I'm here for you.”
He held that whispered promise close to his heart.

Love me, love me, say that you love me
Musical beetlejuice x fem reader
Beej hits you with a love potion to get you to confess you love him, it goes wrong
Dubious consent, nsft, nothing serious happens, you know me
"Satisfaction guaranteed..." the ghoul mumble to himself as he read the label of the bottle he was holding.
Beetlejuice, you're undead demonic, freeloader of a roommate, had just come back from a quick trip to the netherworld, and unlike his other trips, it wasnt for business, but pleasure, a quick shopping trip while you were out of the house.
"For the chunk of change you cost, it better" the ghoul smiled, pink streaks creeping into his hair.
In his hands was a pink bottle shaped like a human heart, a perfume type atomizer spray bottle.
Beetlejuice KNEW you liked him, but he also knew you were a coward about it, yes your shyness was cute, and the way you danced around this fact did have its charms, but the time has come for you to spit it out, you had to make the first move, not him.
Yes the demon could charm you, but you wouldnt take him seriously, he knew that, beetlejuice knew his flirting towards you and his advances towards you were seen as a joke, and why wouldnt it, he knew he couldnt be taken seriously, he took every chance he had to make a crude joke, why would anyone take him seriously, so he played it up to get you to smile, or even to get you embarrassed was also nice.
But today was different, today beetlejuice was gonna get you to say "I love you" albeit with force, but that was something he could live/die with.
The ghoul, now buzzing electric pink and green ready's himself at the door, waiting for his sweet breather to come in him trap.
You were on your way back from the post office to pick up a package that you or beej werent home to sign for, it was just some clothes, nothing too exciting, but a nice excuse to get out of the house for a nice walk, as much as you loved spending time with your undead friend, who you may or may not have a crush on, it was nice to have some alone time.
You walk into you apartment complex and slowly make it back to your flat, you fumble with your keys as you unlock the door, the soft jingle and muffled cursing was a great single to beetlejuice that you were home, the ghoul takes a deep breath, not that he needed too, and gets into position, readying the bottle's nozzle to the level of your face.
"I'm home-" was all you got out before receiving a face full of god knows what, you prayed it was water, wiping your face and rubbing your eyes, you didnt need to see who the culprit was for this shitty joke, pulling your hands from your face, you saw the demon standing infront of you, arms stretched out in a pre hug position, eyes closed, lips puckered, slightly leaning towards you.
Your anger quickly faded, but was replaced with confusion, you say nothing but only stare at the ghoul.
Seconds pass, beetlejuice opens on eye to see what the hold up was, was there a delay with the potion? Does it take a minute to kick in? Or was it a peice of junk?
Beetlejuice drops his awkward position, and smooths back his hair, trying to hide to spots the purple trying to emerge.
"So y/n, welcome home" he starts off shaky "you feel okay? Maybe a little warmer? Heart beating a little faster? Maybe even a little eager to jump someone or tell them something deep?" Subtle
"What are you talking about? Beetlejuice what the hell was that about?!" You huff
The ghoul is taken back by your tone, he was expecting you to be more soft, after a spray of that crap, he scowls glancing down to the bottle in his hands, waste of money, unless, he drops his scowl and focuses back to you, a sly smile plastered across his face.
"Just some netherworld perfume, very popular stuff, thought I'd surprise my favorite breather with it"
"Suprise is right" you grumble walking passed him, heading to the living room you place your things on the table, beetlejuice was quick to follow.
"How bout another try babes? I promise I wont get ya in the face, though I prefer to squirt ya in the face~"
"I dont know bee, I'm not that really into perfume" you shurg
Beetlejuice frowns and huffs out his nose, for what he paid for this peice of shit he wasnt gonna give up after one shot.
"Come on babes, do it for your good pal~" he pleads
You frown in response
"Okay sugar, you know regardless of what you say I'm gonna get what I want, so just play ball"
"Fine" you grumble, you can always take a shower later, hell you were going to anyway, your face felt gross after being hit by that stuff earlier.
The demon's face lights up at your answer, you held out your wrist as an indicator that you wanted to be sprayed their and were ready for it, though that wish was completely ignored, as the ghoul quickly leans forward and sprays you in the face again.
The ghoul stares at you praying to whatever and whoever for this to work, you turn away from the demon, curse under your breath and rub at your face.
As you rub your face beetlejuice goes back into position, arms stretched out, lips puckered, ready to receive your love, and hoping you wont banish him if this didnt work.
Moving your hands from your face you let out sigh, you jolt feeling a familiar twinge in your lower reigns, a desperate pulse for attention, you could feel your heart racing, your head was swimming, turning to face the ghoul, the second you laid your eyes on him the pulsing inbetween your legs intensifies, give let out a soft "bee" before leaping into his arms, slamming your lips into his, and wrapping your legs around his waist. The demon's eyes shoot open at this, his hands were quick to grab onto your rear, a mix of holding you up and feeling you up, his hair bloomed from green to pink in a flash, hell he was so excited his stripes went from black to pink.
"Oh Lawrence" you breathed between kisses, beetlejuice only hummed in response, too lost in this bliss to think.
"Couch?" You whine as you wiggle your hips against his semi.
"Holy crap" he groans, this was really happening, he quickly brought you to the couch, flopping down on his back, having you sit pretty on top of him.
You continue to kiss him, shoving your tongue in his mouth, the ghoul loved you taking charge, he dreamed of it often, he didnt put up a fight and gave you the dominance to explore his mouth, pulling away to breath, a nice line of spit connected the two of you. You move your attention on to the demon's neck, peppering it with kisses and giving the occasional nip at his cold flesh.
Beetlejuice was over the moon with this change in demeanor, who knew his y/n would have it in them, the ghoul purs feeling your hands roam his body, his hands plant firmly on your rear, giving it a small pinch every once and again, everytime you would respond with a whine.
He was in heaven, or as close as an undead demon was gonna get.
You give his tie a tug, as if to ask for permission to continue, beetlejuice moans encouraging you to keep going.
You give the demon a quick kiss on the lips, moving to his jawline, to his neck, as you untie his tie, you toss the garment aside as you start to work on his shirt's buttons, kissing every inch of skin that is slowly revealed.
You move down his body, the demons chest and stomach fully exposed, and kissed, beetlejuice was in a complete daze from your love, but quickly snaps out of it when he feels you palm the tent in his pants.
"Whoa babes-"
"Is this for me?~" you coo "it looks so big~" you sigh giving the tent a light squeeze "it's really hard"
Beetlejuice quickly sits up, stifling a moan.
"Babes, y/n, just hold it-"
"Oh, would you rather be on top?" You ask softly crawling towards him "or would you rather I not use my hands? I can give it a kiss if you want" You crawl back into the demon's arms leaning in for another kiss, you stumble forward as beetlejuice quickly vanished, reappearing a few feet away from you, the demon pulling his shirt together, as if trying to hide himself.
"Let's just take a second here, likes put a pin in this, and ah, just relax" god slash satan this wasnt fair, and maybe 100 percent his fault, here you were drugged out of your mind begging him to have sex with you, jesus all he needed from you was a simple "I love you" not this, but he'll sure be thinking about this later.
"Why dont ya cool down babes, and we can talk about this"
"How can I cool down, when I'm so hot for you" you moan as you  unbutton your shirt, fully exposing your lacy black bra, the demon swallows hard, you slowly stand up letting your shirt fall, your hands traveling behind your back as you unhooked your bra, letting it fall to the floor.
"Oh fuck"  beetlejuice whines in a higher pitch,
You slowly make your way over to him, gently grabbing one of his hands and bringing it to your exposed chest "your hands are so nice and cold, maybe you could help me cool down?"
God slash satan did he wanted to give your boob a nice squeeze, but you're not you right now, he pulls his hand away, then places both of his hands on your shoulders, your skin was hot to the touch. Averting your gaze he clears his throat
"Maybe a cold shower would be help ya out"
"Maybe if you join me" you sigh leaning into the demon's chest, your hands resting on his hips.
"Y/n-"
"Are you sure you dont want help with your 'little friend'?"
Any other time he'd be delighted to have you help, but now was not that time.
"Let's just take a second here babes, we'll fool around later okay, I mean do you have condoms? I dont have any on me, we need protection"  beetlejuice knew he couldnt get you sick or pregnant since he was a dead demon, but you didnt know that. "And besides, no means no, you know that y/n" BJ didnt exactly blame you, you werent in your right mind, you were horny as hell thanks to that stupid potion, of course you couldnt think straight.
You pull away from him, mortified at your pushy behavior "I'm sorry" you breath out "I just, I couldn't help myself Lawrence, you're just, I mean, i just love you so much, my body needed you" you began to cry "you're always saying how much you want me, and how you're "ready to go" all the time, I just thought-" you babbled, tears rolling down your cheeks
I love you
Those 3 little words he ached to hear, not how he wanted to hear them, but this whole thing was a mess.
"Babes, it's okay, I was enjoying it, believe me, it's just that I'm not ready to go all the way with you, let's just give it some time" which wasnt true, if you were willing so was he, willing as in not drugged. "And yeah, I talk a big game, but believe me doll, i want our first time to be special, so Hows bought you go put a top on, and we can put this little mess behind us?" It was an odd day when this harbinger of chaos had to be a voice of reason.
You nodded as you slip away to collect your bra and shirt that were tossed aside, beetlejuice frowns at this situation and wanders off to the item that started it, retrieving the bottle he squints at the label to read the rest of the instructions he didnt bother reading, and their it was, in the fine print 'warning, do not use on the living, results may vary and are not limited to  nausea, drowsiness, intense sexual desires-' he groans then curses.
"Beetlejuice?"
The ghoul turns his attention to you, fully dressed.
"No hard feelings, aside from your, you know"
The demon gives you a soft laugh "no hard feelings babes"
"Could I have a hug? I promise to behave" it's not that the pulsing in your loins stopped, in fact the intensity was stronger now, you just wanted to be close the ghoul before dealing with these feelings alone, there was no harm in that
Beetlejuice pauses for a second, before smiling "alright sugar, bring it in" there was no harm in a hug, sure his dick was still kinda hard, but that's fine.
You walk into the ghoul's arms, slowly circling your own around him, beetlejuice gently pats your back. You nuzzle into his neck, and whisper "I love you Lawrence" before planting a soft kiss on his cheek.
Pulling away from the ghoul, his scent, and touch fresh in your mind you make your way to the bathroom to shower, amongst other things.
If you were to turn back you would have seen a glowing pink Beej who's legs are about to give out
"ARRGHHH! That's worse... They're killing me again!"
The should of the shower rings through the ghoul's ears, he grumbles as he puts his suit back together, grabbing the bottle that started it all he snaps his fingers and vanishes, off to give the schmuck who sold this to him a peice if his mind.
...
A few hours later beetlejuice reappears into your living room, grumbling to himself as he tucks the bottle into his jacket, no sense tossing it, maybe when the two of you are knocking boots, he could use it as an aphrodisiac, with your consent of course.
"Bee? Is that you?" Your voice rings through your flat, it was late, beetlejuice was hoping youd be asleep when he came back.
The ghoul makes his way to your room.
"Yeah, I had to take care of something"
"I was just about to go to bed" you were sitting on your bed wearing an over sized shirt that just covered your bum, the ghoul's eyes glance about, stopping at your vibrator that was now laying on the floor, he could smell the sex in the air, another time this would have been delightful.
"Do you want to join me? Sleeping? Like you normally do?" You sounded a tad too eager "I mean if you feel comfortable"
Beetlejuice gives you smile "sure" he snaps away his suit, leaving a pair of boxers, seeing your eyes light up was something he had to burn in his brain forever.
You scramble under the covers waiting for the demon to join you, which he promptly did.
"Is it okay if I snuggle with you?" You ask softly
"Anything you want babes" he purred, you quickly snuggle up to him, using his soft chest as a pillow, your hand petting the hair on his stomach.
"If you change your mind, I'm not wearing any panties" you whisper in the demons ear.
This was gonna be a long night
...
Bonus
The next morning beetlejuice woke up to an empty bed, confused he made his way to the living room, and there you were, sitting on the couch with your face in your hands.
"Morning?" He greets you
No response
"Babes?"
Nothing, beetlejuice makes his way to you, sitting down next to you, he places a hand on your shoulder, you flinch.
"Wake up and smell the coffee babycakes-"
"I am so sorry for yesterday, I- i don't know what came over me, i- beetlejuice, I so sorry for putting you into that type of situation, I-" you sobbed
The ghoul's hair quickly bloomed purple, you're blaming yourself for what he did to you "dont worry your pretty little head sweetheart, it was that perfume, how was I supposed to know it messed with breathers, believe me I gave that guy who sold it to me a peice of my mind, my poor little y/n warped and twisted into someone hornier then me" it wasnt all true, but beetlejuice couldnt have you beating yourself up over this, nor did he want to tell you the full truth.
"Really?" You sniffle
"Really"
You lean into the demon and he pulls you into a soft embrace, patting your back.
"How's bout we order some take out and I put a smile on that sweet face of yours?"
You pull away from beetlejuice and rub away your tears "I'd like that"

Sibling Bonding (My Hero Academia)
This fic was purchased from my Coffee Shop Wish List by a generous supporter. Thank you!
Primary Universe
Summary: Spring break has arrived, and Todoroki heads home to spend some time with his older siblings since Endeavor is out of town. When he accidentally reveals that he's ticklish, things take a giggly turn very quickly!
A/N: YES I'm so excited to share this one! Earlier this year somebody suggested a Todoroki siblings fic, which I declined at the time because I didn't feel like I'd be able to do it justice. Later I felt more confident and put it on my Wish List, and now it's been purchased for your reading pleasure! Enjoy! ^^
Word Count: 1,915
~~~
“I’m here,” Todoroki announced without flourish as he entered his home for the first time in months, kicking off his shoes in the entryway.
Fuyumi poked her head around the corner from the kitchen where she was working on dinner. “Welcome back, Shoto.”
"Thanks.” Todoroki shrugged off his backpack and entered the kitchen, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He felt awkward, but did his best to ignore it. “It smells great. What is it?”
“Soba.”
He blinked at her. “You…didn’t have to go out of your way for me.”
“It’s no trouble at all. It’s your favorite food, right? I wanted to make today special. It’s the first day of your spring break and you’re spending it with us!” Fuyumi smiled at him. “I want you to have a great time.”
Todoroki nodded at her. “Thank you for cooking.”
“Of course. Natsuo should be here any minute. You can take a seat in the dining room if you want. We can talk easier that way.”
“Okay.”
But instead, he leaned against a counter she didn’t appear to be using, putting his hands in his pockets. His first instinct was to cross his arms, but he didn’t want to come across as grumpy or ungrateful. He was truly happy to be here, finally able to spend time with his siblings without the presence of his father to ruin his mood.
It had been Fuyumi’s idea. Endeavor was out of the prefecture on business, which left her and Natsuo home alone for the first time in a while. That, and it was spring break for U.A., which meant Todoroki was free to come over and hang out with them without having to get permission to leave the campus. Fuyumi had quickly arranged for this first day to be spent having dinner together.
“So…” his sister said after a brief pause. “How’s school going?”
*
A couple of hours later, dinner was over, the dishes were in the dishwasher, and the Todoroki siblings sat around in the living room staring at each other awkwardly. None of them really knew how to proceed.
Still, Natsuo tried. “So, uh, Shoto. What kind of stuff do you like to do?”
Todoroki knew what he meant. What should we do now that dinner’s over? He thought for a moment. “Well…my friends and I play Mario Kart a lot, I guess.”
Fuyumi perked up. “You like video games?”
“They’re fine.”
“Well, we don’t have Mario Kart,” Natsuo said, “but we do have the latest Mario Party game. Do you want to try that?”
“Sure.”
Todoroki helped his siblings set up the game, then selected Yoshi as his character and proceeded to inadvertently dominate both of them as time went on. He won several mini-games and always seemed to get to the star first, no matter the circumstances. He honestly couldn’t tell if he was really good, or if his siblings were just really bad. Or both.
“Jeez, Shoto!” Natsuo finally exclaimed after the youngest sibling got his fifth star – three ahead of Fuyumi, who had two. He nudged Todoroki, his elbow pressing into his ribs. “Give us a chance to catch up!”
Todoroki giggled.
The room went silent for a moment.
“Shoto?” Fuyumi asked, staring at him incredulously. “Are you okay?”
Todoroki knew he was blushing and he wished desperately that he could have held in his reaction better than that. But it was too late now, and he knew it. He sighed. “Yes, I’m fine. Natsuo nudged me and it…it tickled. That’s all.”
Natsuo’s eyes lit up. “You’re ticklish? Really?”
“Nat,” Fuyumi warned.
Todoroki hesitated. Game forgotten now, he glanced between his siblings on either side of him and struggled to decide how he wanted to proceed. He knew they wouldn’t touch him without permission – knowing what he’d gone through with their father kept them from doing that much, at least. But he didn’t want to brush them off, either. As it happened, he did enjoy being tickled to an extent, but he’d never been tickled by family before.
“I…um…” he swallowed, heart racing. What would they think if they knew the other half of it, too? That he enjoyed doing the tickling?
Fuyumi reached out as though to put a hand on his shoulder, then stopped herself. “Shoto, it’s okay. We won’t tickle you if you don’t want us to. Right, Nat?”
“Definitely not.” His brother was surprisingly emphatic, nodding. “I was just surprised to learn you were, that’s all. If you don’t like it I’m not going to tickle you just for the sake of it.”
“I…I do like it.” Todoroki mumbled, setting his controller down, hoping that would be enough invitation for them. “My friends tickle me quite a lot, actually. It’s fun. As long as you stop when I ask you to.”
Natsuo grinned, setting his controller down, too. “So you don’t automatically say ‘stop’ when you’re being tickled, huh, Sho? That’s interesting.” He poked him in the ribs again. “Cute, too.”
Todoroki smiled, pulling away only the tiniest bit.
“Fuyumi? I think we have some long overdue sibling bonding to catch up on.”
She beamed. “I totally agree.”
And that was it. The next thing he knew, Todoroki had been tackled to the floor, fingers digging into his ribs and sides and belly in rapid succession, giggles bubbling up out of him quicker than he had time to process. He squealed and curled up, but did his best not to push them away. He also never said a word of protest.
“Aww, you really do like it, don’t you?” Fuyumi cooed, wiggling her fingers up into his underarm. “Tickle, tickle, tickle~”
Todoroki yelped, his whole body jerking when she found one of his hot spots, and his squirming became near-thrashing when she realized what she’d done and continued to do it. Natsuo laughed, grabbing his wrists and pulling them above his head with little resistance, giving their sister full access to his armpits.
Fuyumi dug in, smiling wide as her youngest brother tossed his head back and laughed freely, eyes squeezed shut and teeth showing as he beamed happily, legs kicking behind her. “Aw, is this a good spot, Sho? Does it tickle really bad here?”
“YEHEHEHEHEHEHES!!” he cried, arching his back as she raked her nails from his underarms to his hips, searching for another hot spot. “GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! CAHAHAHAREFUL!!”
“I will be,” she promised.
“I want in on the fun, too!” Natsuo declared, shifting so he was sitting on Todoroki’s arms, pinning them above his head while he leaned down to pinch at his ribs and sides, sometimes scribbling along his neck and ears as well.
Todoroki dissolved into giggles, flustered beyond belief but still enjoying himself. Then Fuyumi squeezed his thigh experimentally, and he screeched with a new round of fresh laughter, shaking his head. “AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE!!”
“Ooh, another bad spot?” she teased, squeezing gently, drawing loud laughter from him every time. “You’re really ticklish, aren’t you, Sho?”
“I KNOHOHOHOHOHOW!!” he laughed, digging his heels into the carpeted floor. “PLEASE, IT TIHIHIHIHIHICKLES A LOHOHOHOHOHOT!!”
“Are you still okay?” she asked. “Do you want us to stop?”
Todoroki whined but shook his head. “I’M FIHIHIHIHIHINE!!”
“Fuyumi, I want a turn!” Natsuo complained, releasing Todoroki’s arms and shuffling down to join her. “Let me try some spots! Don’t take all the fun of experimenting away from me.”
“Fine, fine, you big baby,” she shot back playfully, scribbling lightly over Todoroki’s sides and belly. “Go on, try his knees and feet.”
Todoroki couldn’t help the sound that escaped him at the mention of his feet being one of the next targets. He slapped his hands over his mouth the instant it was out, but it was too late.
“Oh? None of that,” Fuyumi admonished gently, pulling his hands away from his mouth and down to his sides, straddling him, pinning them in place as she danced her fingers over his ribs, occasionally sneaking into his underarms as well.
“I’m not getting anything here,” Natsuo said, squeezing Todoroki’s knees but not getting any kind of twitch or extra giggles for his efforts.
“Then try his feet.”
Todoroki couldn’t help it. He pleaded, “Behehehe careful, plehehehease, I’m reheheheally ticklish there!”
“Oh?~” Natsuo grinned, pulling off his socks and scribbling wildly over his bare soles. “Are you, now?”
“NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! CRAP, PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE NOHOHOHOHOHO!!” Todoroki shrieked, tossing his head back and unleashing loud, uncontrollable bouts of laughter that had both of his siblings staring at him in shock. He squirmed uselessly, trapped under Fuyumi’s weight and – following that outburst – Natsuo’s as he straddled his legs and went to work tickling him like crazy on his worst spot in true brotherly fashion. “NONONONO PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE NOT THEHEHEHEHEHEHEHERE!! NAHAHAHAHAHATSUO!!”
Fuyumi grinned. She’d never seen Shoto look so happy in his life, and despite his ticklish distress and the pleas falling from his mouth, he never once said stop, never once looked to be truly panicked. He was loving this, she realized, and it made her heart so full she thought it might burst.
Laughter was truly the best medicine.
“AAAIEEHEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOHOHOHOHOHOHOOOO!!” Todoroki suddenly screamed, laughing so hard his hysterics went silent. He shook his head desperately, trying to gasp for breath. “NO MORE NO MORE PLEHEHEHEHEASE NO!! STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!!”
Fuyumi climbed off of him. “Nat, get off, he’s had enough.”
Natsuo complied, but he was laughing just as hard as his younger brother had been moments ago. “Dude, your laugh is the best thing in the world! You know that? Got a serious sweet spot on your arches, don’t you, little bro?”
Todoroki curled into a ball, still giggling, still smiling. “Y-Yeheheah…thanks f-fohohor stopping…”
“Of course. Wouldn’t want to go too far.” Natsuo ruffled his hair, beaming down at him. He and Fuyumi shared smiles with each other.
“Are you okay? Let me get you some water,” she said, hurrying into the kitchen and returning a moment later with a glass.
Todoroki took it gratefully, taking a few sips after he sat up. Then he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “You guys probably think I’m such a child.”
“Shoto, sweetie, you are a child.” Fuyumi smirked, winking at him. “You’re the baby of the family, remember? But that doesn’t matter. Liking tickling doesn’t make you any less of a man. Or a pro hero.”
“For sure,” Natsuo agreed. He nudged his shoulder. “If anything, we think it’s awesome. Right, Fuyumi? It just means we have a guaranteed way to make you smile.”
Todoroki never imagined his first time really spending time with his brother and sister would wind up like this, but he wasn’t complaining. Not in the slightest. He smiled, unable to contain his relief and happiness. “There…there is one more thing, though.”
“Yeah? What is it?” Fuyumi asked gently.
He bit his lip, then glanced between them. “I like doing the tickling more.”
They went quiet.
They looked at each other.
Natsuo jumped to his feet. “Crap, Fuyumi – we’d better run!”
Fuyumi took his hand as he offered it to her, and they began to disappear from the living room.
“Wait!” Todoroki cried, worried he’d ruined the happy feeling from moments before. “I won’t do it unless you’re okay with—”
“Well, what are you waiting for, Sho?!” Natsuo called from somewhere in the hallway. “Come get us, tickle monster!”
“You can’t catch us!” Fuyumi sang teasingly.
That familiar fire flared up within Todoroki, and he beamed and leapt to his feet, chasing after them.
Sibling bonding went both ways, after all.
All This Hassle, and What For?
Pairing | Loki Laufeyson x reader
Summary | getting taken hostage, along with Loki, is far more amusing than ever intended to be, despite it leaving your captors anything but impressed.
Warnings | kidnapping, mentions of depression, swearing, implied smut, innuendos
Based off this tiktok. All original rights to the plot go back to the creator.
Quick link to my masterlist, if you’re interested in reading more of my crap 😬
Tumblr media
Opening your aching eyes, you found yourself to be in a large room, there were plenty of feet stood at your eye level, and such a sight made you frown. You certainly didn’t remember being knocked out, but who would, the exposure to unconsciousness was most likely sudden.
But nevertheless, you raised your head, glaring up at those whom had captured you. As your eyes scoured the room, your eyes landed promptly on the god of mischief, who had his hands bound and shackled in chains, and by Odin, did he look good.
However, your attraction the man who once reigned terror down upon New York wasn’t the focus now, and so you licked your lips, and kicked the nearest guard in the leg. He stumbled, the noise loud enough to draw the attention of all others, and you were pleased to stifle a laugh. Loki frowned at your behaviour, knowing that this was not the way that you were trained to be an avenger, but it was clear that you were no longer on earth, so human pleasantries did not apply here.
“And by the gods, who in the galactic council’s name do you think you are?” The closest asked, wrapping his large hand through your hair, and tugging your face up to stare up at him, wanting you to be treated as the lesser being he thought you as.
“Actually, he’s the god.” Tilting your head, you diverted it towards Loki, who squinted feebly at your answer. “But I think you already knew that, since you have him rattled in metal. Just a word of advice, rumour has it that he likes to be restrained in such ways; really, you’re doing him a favour, and you may just earn yourself a big tip.”
You sent a wink up at the commander, watching with inward joy as he grimaced at your development within your speech. “Quite a nice sight, to see him so vulnerable and at someone’s mercy, so thank you general.”
Sending him a smile, he huffed, whilst Loki tried his darnedest to contain an amused grin. It wouldn’t be the first occasion that you had made suggestions regarding the new troop of the avengers; even when he was around causing mischief, (which he still tended to do), there were always words said that gained the god’s intrigue.
Tony at the time, and to this day, despite him being a part of the heroic team, which Thor was ‘inclined’ to drag him into, thought nothing more than disgust at your meaningful jokes. In his words, ‘you two may as well screw so we don’t have to listen to anymore of this dirty banter, you in regards to reindeer games’.
How you wished right now, preached silently even, that Tony could bare to listen again, so that he could send in the team whom could deal with these aliens that were keeping your imprisoned. But all communications were cut, and that just left you and Loki.
By no means did you doubt if Loki got the chance to escape, he would leave you. It was in his nature to do so, but if you could pose a lack of threat, they may loosen up on their efficiency in guarding you. After all, Loki was the one they wanted, not you. And then, both of you could get away from this galactic nonsense.
“Humans.” The general huffed, causing you to grimace as the stench of his breath wafted through the air, and hit your nose. “You all think that you are so special, but when it comes down to it, those who are not from your planet do not care. Loki here, this god, does not care about you little one. And he never will.”
“That’s okay with me, because I don’t care about him either. It’d called self preservation.” You informed your captor, noticing Loki staring across at you with an icy gaze. Who were you kidding? Of course you cared about the god, but right now, you would do anything to get out of this predicament.
“Aw would you look at that.” The feet moved back towards the main reward of their capture, staring down at the green eyed trickster with mocking eyes. “This woman has attitude just like yours, if either of you cared, I’d call it a match made in Asgard.” A laugh bellowed from the wide chest of the being, finding his own comedy quite humorous.
“Excuse me, I’m way out of his league!” You pretended to be offended, bringing your hands that were free of restraint to your chest. They thought not to tie you down as they did to him, after all, you were nothing but a midguardian. That was their mistake. “What’d you want with old horse shagger over there anyways? Don’t be alarmed, but he actually does some kind of good now, even if it be out of his own self interest.”
A heavy sigh fell on deaf ears, as the protector of space glanced unsurely between the pair of you. “He has the tesseract, and I wish to take it from his slippery hands, he cannot be trusted with such a powerful source of energy.” His words bellowed a laugh of absolute surprise from your mouth, earning a frown from those keeping you hear, and a cock of the head from the god of mischief.
It was clear that not only was he confused by your supple, yet somewhat pleasant burst of amusement, but he was also in the dark about what in the Hela this predominant being was speaking of. Yes, he had had the tesseract at one point , however, no longer was it in his untrustworthy grasp.
Thanos had taken ownership over it, after killing many of the people that he had saved from the events of Ragnarok. It was not just some energy source, it had been an infinity stone all along, tricking the eyes of elders and the young to believe that it was nothing more than a harbouring of power. But it had indeed been the space stone, and it was taken from him, in exchange for saving Thor’s life.
The Guardians of the Galaxy had found the pair of them upon the aftermath of the wreckage, taking them in, amongst plans of taking Thanos down. It had been a failure, up until the avengers went back in time, going to their past that would not affect their future, so that they could reverse the affects the Titan had brought upon earth and everywhere else.
During that time, Loki had nurtured his brother, watching as he fell apart with the responsibility of their people, and collapsed into a spiral of depression. You had also been there for Thor, doing your best to take the drink away from the bulky god, but to no avail did you manage to succeed. And so, during those tormenting five years, you and Loki would sit side by side, both basking silently in your failures.
“I thought you guys’d know everything, but I guess that you and your highness are stuck in one time line; all of them. But for us humans and every lesser being, there are multiple, and that Loki that stole the tesseract, yet I say again, is one much different. And we are on the search for him, to stop his disruption and crossing over of the times!” An exonerated, and audible exhale of air left you after your little speech.
Loki smirked, at the premise of you protecting him with the admission of the truth. But he couldn’t help but feel a feeling of warmth flutter within his immortal insides, it was rather a nice feeling he realised. “He is quite difficult to catch, we have been tracking him since the time heist went sideways.”
“That’s because he’s you!” You pointedly exclaimed, unable to pin some of the blame upon the god himself. Sure, in recent times he had changed, and was much different from back when he wanted all mortals to kneel before him (which you’d willingly do if it ever came to that, though you’d never tell him under which circumstances that would be), but at the end of the day, that had been him once!
The tricks and the lies still remained, but he had found a reason to thrive, and a long and enduring career that he was well at tackling. Often, he made out being an avenger, despite the government’s rouse of concern, to be a bore, and that he had far better things to do. But he stayed, with a light in his eyes, and continued following along with the heroic traditions, breaking a few rules here and there.
“Dear, why do you always have to put the blame upon me? I was not the one who decided to put that green dye within your shampoo, but I’ll have to admit, did you look so enrapturing.” He was running a ploy, dragging out the time that you spent bantering in hopes of something happening.
Unlike Heimdall, he did not have foresight, but it was a requirement whilst the pair of you were on your expediting mission, that you check in with the base, via the comms that had cracked under brutal feet. And so, he spoke, with the promise that you’d return the conversation and leave all others in the room confused with your meaningless discussion.
“I did, didn’t I?” You asked, to which he hummed in reply, lightly nodding his head, as his feline eyes ran up your body, paying ample attention to how your limbs were free, unlike his own. “But I’d say fine sir, that the blame is down to Clint, and if I’m correct, may we kick his ass as soon as we get back home?”
“Of course we can my beloved-“ you froze at his choice of words, and it appears that he did too, suddenly realising his mistake. Gulping for a second he went to speak again, but the commander felt much inclined to but in, and stop the headache that was bubbling in his large head.
“Shut up; the pair of you!” His scolding made you feel as though you were in school over again, it was impossible not to drop your head down and try to contain your laughter. Loki too found such enjoyment in this predicament, sporting a cheshire grin to emit his emotions.
“I’m sorry, can you say that again? Maybe a just a tad louder?” You pinched your thumb and forefinger together to show how much, and it was clear that you were pissing this primal being off. He began towards you, and you were prepared to fight him, you were never one to back down, which was one feature upon the various reasons that Fury had initially recruited you.
Awaiting the first strike, you stood despite the others around you, your eyes wide open as you bravely stared up at your opponent. But before the fight could begin, a distant crash assumed preference in your ears, causing you to turn your head in the direction it had came from. And then, all of a sudden, a ship crashed through the dock, guns blazing from its side.
“What are you waiting for?” The distinct voice of Rocket asked, and obediently you ran through the terror, finding Loki already upon the ship, but then, he appeared behind you also. “Quill, get ready to go!”
Taking glances, you stared between the two practically identical copies, a light frown on your face. Both were restrained, yet the one that was seated beside Groot, whom was playing a game on some nineties device, was glaring up at the pair of you.
“An avenger, really?” The seated one laughed, mocking his once future self, as you felt the ship steer clear away from the scene. Your Loki quirked his brow, smirking at his self that had avoided the wars that he had chosen to fight upon earth.
“Yes, an avenger.” He responded, causing his other to languidly scoff. An ‘I am groot’ came from the tree, and it was uncertain in your spoken languages of what he had said, but either way, you were more intrigued by the conversation that was happening between the Loki’s. “And I’ll have you know, that she is infinitely more brave than you, you cower-some fool.”
“Oh, so we’re going there?” You asked, causing the pair to snap out of their mutual rivalry, and stare haphazardly at you. “No, don’t mind me, feel free to continue.”
“We’re not going to be unable to unbind your until we reach earth.” Gamora cut in, speaking to the Loki that you knew to be the original.
“That’s fine.” He nodded humbly, before casting his attention back at his alternate reflection. “And this woman, is not only an avenger. She was there for your brother when you were not.”
“Aw.” The other Loki smirked, almost cruelly. “So she’s your beloved?” He remarked rudely, and it seemed to break something within Loki, him wishing not to listen to the other version of himself. He decided he did not like him, and understand how you must have felt upon your initial meeting.
“Yes.” You went to speak, but instead, Loki stood before you, powerlessly pulling your face to his own, and colliding his lips upon yours. On impulse, you ravenously replied with much affection, clasping his jaw and allowing him entrance into your mouth. It earned a disgusted groan out of the Loki that had caused all this hassle.
“I hate to interrupt...” Rocket returned, after putting his gun down and having gone to the front of the ship with Quill, so that he could contact Stark. “But these may get those off.” He held a pair of golden pliers, that were far larger than his body. At the sight , you pulled away from Loki’s face for a moment, raising a brow.
“It’s fine, I think I want to keep them on.” You smirked, earning another sound of disapproval from Loki’s identical rival, pulling him back to your face. Wildly, he hummed into the cavern of your mouth, as the pair of you stumbled around on the spaceship.
“Bedrooms are down the hall to the right.” Nebula informed you, her voice monotone, and in turn, you dragged the god towards said direction, finally releasing all the tension that had been pent up through the years.
I was thinking about how the 13th member also their girlfriend would be doing a sexy stage with other members from different irl group's and Yvesoul is just teasing the crap out of their girlfriend saying that she couldn't do the special stage because she's more of a cute type but still encouraging her. (Because, they're supportive girlfriends and that's what we love) but, when the 13th member does the special stage, she pulls it off perfectly. I don't want the ending to end in a smut because I don't know where you stand on that and I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but if you want to do it you can. So, can I settle with an ending that has Yvesoul shocked and the 13th member smug. Remember, if you're busy or just don't want to do my request than ignore it. I don't want you to feel obligated to do anything that I ask. Thank you❤️❤️
Yves x Jinsoul x Reader
"I'll show you !"
"Come on Y/N, you can't do a sexy stage, it's like asking a puppy to twerk !"
Yves bursts out laughing, you just told her about your collab stage with Sua from Dreamcatcher and Soojin from (G)I-dle. Knowing the two other idols, your girlfriend was shocked to know you were going to dance with them. After all they were known to be the sexiest of their individual groups when you were known as the cute and softest member of Loona.
Jinsoul entered the room, visibly curious about the loud fit of laughter.
"What's making you laugh that loud ? Hi cutie, didn't see you there."
She kissed your lips before facing Sooyoung, waiting for her answer.
You crossed your arms and gave a knowing look to your girlfriend, urging her to announce the news to your other girlfriend.
"Okay don't laugh yet, Y/N is doing a sexy performance soon."
Jinsoul looked at you then back at Yves.
"Who's Y/N ?"
And the laughs were back, your girlfriend almost rolling on the floor while the other one was confusingly looking at you.
"What ?"
"Babe what's my name ?
Jinsoul looked at you as if you grew a second head.
"Cutie."
"No, my real name."
Realisation suddenly hit her and when you thought she was going to apologize she just started laughing too.
"Ha ha ha ! A sexy stage? Then what, learn poll dance ?"
"You know what ?! Fuck both of you ! I'll show you I can be sexy if and whenever I want to !"
~~~~~
After that sweet argument with your girlfriends they didn't stop teasing you. They were convinced you were way too cute to do a sexy concept.
You were determined to prove them wrong by showing them what you got and for that matter working with Sua and Soojin was a big help.
On one side you had Soojin showing you how being cute or shy didn't mean you couldn't be the sexiest on stage.
On the other side Sua was not just sexy but the most provocative person you might know and that was something you had to learn from her to get back at your girlfriends.
After weeks of training you were finally ready, you actually never been more confident in your all life. You only had few minutes but you were sure it’ll be just enough to make a show of how sexy you could be to your teasing girlfriends.
Luckily they both came to your performance because even though they didn’t think sexy suits you, they do want to see you perform and cheer for you. You coul see both of them standing near the cameraman, waiting with their lightsticks on, colored with your assigned shade.
As soon as you set foot on stage, you took a glance of them, witnessing the way they gulped at your outfit.
Their eyes were lingering on you even longer than expected, looking you up and down looking for your so called cuteness. Cuteness that was long time gone, erased during practice and hair and makeup.
As expected you nailed the performance your eyes made few contacts with theirs, piercing right through your girlfriends' dirty minds.
Jinsoul was wearing the usual smirk she'd gave off in bed when she was making you moan and you could see Yves' hand that was gripped tightly around her thigh, probably in attempt to prevent both of them to go take you off stage immediately.
They for sure weren't thinking about anything cute right now, you gave them a last teasing wink before you went change.
You didn't bother closing the door of the changing room, you were convinced you won't have time to change anyway.
But the idea of them thinking you'll change before anyone's eyes wasn't anything but alluring now that you were turning your back at the door and thinking about it.
The loud steps weren't long to come, the two pairs of feet hitting the floor in noticeable frustration but suddenly stopped as they reached the door.
You didn't bother turning around and opened the zipper of your top in a slow teasing motion.
If Yves was frozen in wow at the sight, not over the performance yet, your other girlfriend her, was fully awake and didn't let you slid the piece of clothing alone.
She had been longing for your skin since you appeared on stage and wasn't going to wait any more time before having a taste of it.
Her lips found your neck, gently nibbling on it just beneath your ear. You felt her hands circling your hips, brushing slightly the top of your shorts.
As Jinsoul turned you around in her arms, you could now see the fire burning in Yves eyes. Her eyes were admiring your torso, appreciating the last piece of cloth you had over your chest.
Obviously it was one of her Valentine's day gifts, the red material with flowery patterns that she chose was indeed accomplishing its purpose of turning her on even more.
Her hands were visibly shaking with anticipation, still standing in the door frame she didn't even enter the room completely yet.
You reached out for her hand.
"You might want to close that door and come closer."
As if breaking out of hypnosis she suddenly stepped in and smashed her lips to yours, not minding the opened door behind her.
"I'll like it to stay opened. You didn't mind turning us on in public while you were on stage, are you backing off now ? Want to go back to being a softie ?"
No way you were backing off now that you knew how being sexy affects your girlfriend. You never saw her this hungry before, not even Jinsoul would play it this risky with you on a regular basis.
Yet now one of them was still kissing and sucking on your neck while the other was unzipping your shorts with one hand and cupping your breast with the other all of this with the door still half opened.
You thought about stopping them but the kisses were too sweet, their touch felt too good on your skin and maybe the risk of getting caught was only adding fuel into the fire burning inside your stomach.
Yves cupped your face and brought you in for a second kiss while Jinsoul got rid of your shorts. She stood back up terribly slowly, her fingers brushing along your legs while doing so.
Her hands groped your butt, enjoying the laced red undergarment that you were wearing. Her mouth found the soft skin of your shoulder blades and traced kisses on it.
Sooyoung wasn't as slow as your first girlfriend was, she was needy and fidgeting. If you had hypnotized Jinsoul, Yves on the other side seemed rather electrified. She needed friction.
Her eyes weren't reflecting the same fire as earlier, they were rather pleading you now, pleading you to do something to the unstoppable wetness between her thighs.
Her tongue was not just fighting for dominance, it was claiming yours, caressing and sucking yours in an hurried request.
You were still kissing when you felt her take your hand in hers and push it in her pants, pressing on your fingers to play with her clit.
Witnessing how soaking wet she was, almost made you moan.
"See what you did to me ? I need you to fix it for me, can you do that for me, sexy ?"
Your only response was to push her hand away, wanting to touch her on your own. You slid your fingers further in her pants, opening the front to gain more access and space.
As your index finger brushed against her folds you saw how she was dripping for you. Her hands clunched on your shoulders at the sensation, a moan already half past her lips.
As you were caressing and teasing Sooyoung's sex, you felt your panties running down your legs.
"Can I get a taste ? I'm craving to feel you on my tongue right now."
It was actually the first words your Jinsoul was uttering and god you didn't wished for any other than those escaping her lips at the moment.
You looked over your shoulder, answering her with a kiss, your finger slowly entering your other girlfriend in the meantime, making her gasp.
She joined the kiss, kissing you and Jinsoul equally but biting down on your lip rougher. You had her on her knees for you right now.
Jinsoul got between you two enjoying looking up on you before making you open your legs wider.
She kissed your thigh and tummy before getting where you wanted her the most. When she kissed your clit, you heaved a sigh at the feeling. Your index finger joined your major in its thrust in your girlfriend, making her hiss in pleasure too.
The sounds of pleasure coming from you two spurred on Jinsoul's eagerness to make you feel good as she got a taste of your excitation with a lick.
Shivers ran down your spine, your hips bucking forward in want, making Yves moaned at your hips made contact against hers and getting Jinsoul to smirk, proud of herself.
The curves of her lips pushed against your clit, making you rolled your eyes back.
"God I could cum just by seeing you roll your eyes in pleasure."
The words had troubles escaping Yves' mouth as your thrusts became faster and deeper in her. She grabbed your face and kissed you roughly in an attempt to muffle her moans.
You felt her thighs shake as your other hand reached for her breast, pinching on her nipple the way you know brings her on edge.
In one last thrust Yves came undone in your hands, crying out her orgasm in your mouth. As on cue Jinsoul pushed a finger in your heat, her tongue still deep in and her thumb massaging your clit at a fast pace.
Everything felt too overwhelming, too hot and your orgasm too fast. Jinsoul held your hips knowing you wouldn't be able to keep standing.
Sooyoung attacked your neck once she got back from cloud nine, her teeth meeting your pulse point in a slight bite.
Blood rushed to your head in a great finally, your orgasm hitting you hard and making you grab on your girlfriend for support.
She patted your back, soothing your high.
Jinsoul got back up and smiled at you with her beamed afterglow smile. Which was odd since you didn't even heard her cumming, however Yves was faster at asking.
"How did you ?"
"Oh you know the regular."
She replied raising the hand that wasn't taking care of you previously with a chuckle.
You laughed with her and decided it was time to go home. You were getting your clothes back on while your girlfriends tried to make themselves presentable.
As you were about to leave Jinsoul burst out laughing, getting weird looks from you and Yves.
"Babes, neither of you closed the door right ? Because I didn't either and it's closed."
You looked at her in pure shame, your cheeks turning bright red from embarrassment.
Your girlfriends just brushed it off not caring at all about getting caught.
They cooed at you, engulfing you in a hug.
"Cutie Y/N is back !"

Tumblr media
You know Jason is strong. He really is. But there are moments, moments where he can be so reckless in patrol to the point where he could’ve lost his life. It happens so often that you promised yourself to be patient in this. Reminding yourself that he has his family, the Outlaws, and you to help him out in his missions. But last night made your patience snap like a thread. You were worried more than ever about his well being.
What if he doesn’t arrive in the morning?
What if he dies and leaves you and your son?
What if-
Countless and countless thoughts radiated in your mind causing your body to weigh as more and more doubts formed. The sight of him huffing and puffing as he entered his and your apartment bloodied and beaten. You knew you were going to say something. Anything. You were fine with it at first since the job came with this. But more nights like these compressed your patience like a boot on a bug.
‘He shouldn’t patrol alone’ you thought. You should go with him to make sure he’s being cautious. But you couldn’t. You needed to take care of your child.
After patching him up and laying in bed in silence back to back, you heard the springs of the bed cry as Jason left the mattress to retrieve something while hissing as if he’s trying to ignore the pain. After a few minutes, you gave up trying to sleep off your uncertainty and decided to talk to him. The conversation went from small suggestions and corrections into bickering and confusion.
You didn’t mean to overstep boundaries. He didn’t mean to make you worry. But how he hides his pain is what frustrates you. How he would joke about the bullet wound in his shoulder didn’t bother him when playing in the park with Y/c/n. How he would flinch when Y/c/n hugs him after a hard patrol.
“You know how dangerous it is to go downtown alone!” You raised your voice. “You could’ve died again!”
“But I didn’t! Why don’t you trust me?!”
It repeated like this, going back and forth, for a solid 15 minutes. But in the moment, it felt like hours. Yelling and spitting out words that are not even meant. Pointing who’s to blame, cutting each other off, and wanting your haunted opinions to be heard. Caught up in the heated situation that you didn’t realize your 10-year-old witnessing it all in the hallway in his pajamas.
What's going on here?
Why are they yelling?
Don’t they love each other anymore?
Are...are they getting a divorce?
He’s seen arguments here and there but it's a different level now. It’s bigger. The picture playing of anger and hatred boiling from his parents. His two favorite people in the world, showing distaste in one another.
As a child, he doesn’t know what’s going on other than the air filled with loathe by the source of his parents. As a child, he felt the need to hug his parents and ask them about the situation. As a child, he felt his eye sockets sting and his mind not functioning of what was happening in front of him.
-------
You were making lunch for your son trying to calm yourself from the argument that occurred hours ago. The fight didn’t go so well that you and Jason agreed to give one another space after he drops Y/c/n off at the bus stop.
Jason left the living room to wake up Y/c/n for breakfast, acting strong from the awful wounds he received this morning. What confused you was the sound of his footsteps quicken.
“Y/c/n?! This isn’t funny!” There was shuffling in the room before Jason returned to the kitchen. “He’s not in his room.”
You both searched the entire apartment from top to bottom before searching the entire building. Finding no trace of your son made you two imagine the worst. The worst-case scenario and the last thing you would ever expect. Y/c/n being kidnapped.
Quickly changing into your suits and heading to the roof to discuss who is going to check what part of Gotham, you found your son sitting at the edge of the rooftop, his back facing you. As his head turned towards the sound of the door barged open, your heart broke and Jason caught his breath at the sight of your child in tears.
“What the-” He quickly wiped his tears in shock, “Mr. Red Hood and Mrs. Y/H/N? Here on my apartment building?”
“Oh crap uh-Don’t mind me, I’m just sitting here.” Y/C/N added, using the hem of his sleeve to wipe his tears, trying to hide his released emotion and pushing down the temptation to fanboy in front of his favorite heroes. Not knowing, they are his parents behind the masks.
“Hey kid, why are you crying?” Jason asked, taking a couple steps forward while you followed.
“It’s really silly.” He sniffled, not wanting to look back. “My parents fought.”
You and Jason paused in your steps, not believing what came out of his mouth. ‘He saw us?’
“Oh…”
“I know! Pretty embarrassing to say this to you guys.”
“Oh no no! It’s not embarrassing at all.” You said.
“It’s ok to tell the truth. I really need it from Gotham’s second-best couple.”
“Hate to ask this, but who’s the first best couple?” Your husband asked. You nudged him, giving the ‘really?’ look.
“My parents of course.” You and Jason melted at the spot from hearing how much your son looked up to his parents’ relationship. “But I guess not, after last night.”
His face fell and lowered his head in defeat after mumbling the last sentence. You and Jason glanced in each other's direction silently making a truce and putting aside your differences before taking a seat next to Y/c/n.
“Is it normal for parents to fight really hard? Please tell me. You guys are my number one from now on.”
“Honey, people argue every day. It helps us to grow as a person and learn about our partner’s troubles and what's important to them...”
“Even if it’s little things or big things or the harsh words we said, it doesn’t matter. We still love each other. We just step on the wrong foot sometimes.”
“Tell me about it, I remember bucket head over here accidentally left the sink on in our apartment. And guess what happened?”
“What?” Your son’s eyes were filled with curiosity while Jason cringed at the memory.
“It flooded our entire kitchen and I scolded him for an hour before he cleaned everything.”
“How long did it take Mr. Red hood to clean everything?”
“Two hours.” Y/c/n snorted but immediately became serious when he remembered who’s the other vigilante sitting right next to him.
“In my defense, I had to fight off Ra's Al Ghul for two weeks straight.”
“And?”
“Aaand, I wasn’t at total fault here.”
“It would’ve been better to not even open the sink at all!”
“I was tired, woman!” Then you heard your own son snickering before letting out a burst of warm laughter. The kind of laughter that made you smile while Jason gave a smirk.
“Wow-uh thanks. You guys really sound like my parents.” Jason opened his mouth to say something before you heard a hiss of a vehicle and the rumble of the engine fading in the distance.
“THE BUS!” You screamed as you jumped and ran towards the corner of the edge, the vehicle traveling away.
Your son’s face went pale at the sight of his transportation turning a corner before disappearing the block. Mostly afraid of his parents giving him a lecture for missing the bus rather than attending class.
“Oh shit.”
“Language.” Jason stated and pinched Y/C/N’s cheek as punishment for adding another curse word to the jar.
“Well! It was great knowing you guys! Ah, I would really love an autograph. Especially from you Y/H/N.”
“Me?”
“My dad has a fat crush on you, but don’t tell him that. He says it’s a secret between us men.” Surprised by the news, you glanced at your husband who then avoided your gaze and set his focus on a far off building, pretending he didn’t hear a thing.
Oh, he’s never going to hear the end of this from you. Your son quickly snatched his backpack that was resting by him and sprinted towards the door. As he opened the door to the stairs and was about to leave, he was lifted from the floor by his backpack, his legs still swinging as if he was running.
“Whoa there.” Jason placed your son down to his feet before gesturing between you two. “Why don’t we drop you off?”
“Really!?” Y/C/N’s eyes glittered with excitement that he’s going to receive the experience of traveling like a vigilante until a realization dawned on the boy. “But wait...I need my parent’s permission for that.”
“Don’t worry. All of the parents in Gotham trust us with their kids.”
“Wait really? You sure they won’t mind?”
“Crystal.”
“Yes! Ah, we gotta hurry. My bus might be a little far from here now.”
“Who said anything about taking you to the bus?”
-----
You and Jason were more than positive to never patrol in broad daylight unless it was an emergency. There are two reasons why. One, anyone can track you easily. Villains and crooks in Gotham don’t rest. Not only that, they have henchmen and machines that can detect vigilante activity which means a higher rate of danger to kidnap or take those who you interact with as hostage.
Two, the nosy journalists trying to snap a picture and give an odd headline to the Gotham press. It wasn’t anything new. This happens occasionally without the masks. So the Batfamily wasn’t bothered much by it. But it is rather important to not make the headline. Depending on what is put, it would falter the trust and hope that civilians have in the heroes of Gotham. Also, they would interview those who interacted with the vigilantes therefore more problems would complicate.
That’s when you both gave a conclusion of dropping off your son in an alleyway close by the school. As he was placed down from you, with wobbly legs and hair out of place, it took a load for you from fixing Y/c/n. But as a mother, you couldn’t help it. You bend down to his level and fix his hair and his shirt in place.
“There. All better.” You smiled at your bewildered son before pulling him in for a tight hug. “Have a great day, baby.”
“You really act like my mom,” you pull away from him, “she’s always picky that I would look nice for school.” You resisted the urge to pinch his cheek from that comment.
“I am not picky.” You stated with a serious tone and face.
“You are.” You heard your husband say.
“Am not.”
“Are too.”
“Not.”
“Are too.”
“You’re not helping, Red.” You motioned at your son who is internally debating to join the small argument or leave it between the two of you since you remind him so much of his parents.
Your husband glanced at your son before winking at him, motioning that his wife is definitely picky. Y/c/n snickered before going silent as your focus landed on him.
“Ok, Y/c/n. Time for you to go to school.” Jason pats Y/c/n’s shoulder
“But...But I don’t want to go.” He wrapped his arms around yours and Jason's legs.
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to face my parents when school is over. I’m really scared. What if they want to split up?”
“That won’t happen.” Jason’s tone was serious now.
“How do you know?” It was now Jason’s turn to crouch down to Y/c/n’s level, similar to what Y/c/n’s dad does.
“I’ll say this fast because you need to leave but if I were your dad, I would be an as-” You cleared your throat indicating to Jason to watch his vocabulary, “-idiot to even divorce your mom. Let alone to think of it. I love your mother so much to the point where I would still love her if she’d turn me into a frog. I would rather die again than to lose my family.”
“Wait, you died before-”
“Ah bap bap. Let me finish.” Y/c/n pouted.
“No fair.” Jason smiled under the helmet.
“I would also lose my precious kid. My partner in crime and a part of me. Even though we fought, big-time, I’d still love you and your mom. Relationships aren’t perfect. And neither are families. They’re rough around the edges but they’re still a part of us and we have our roles in them. And for your parents’ roles, they won’t split. I can assure that.”
There it goes again. Y/c/n’s eyes expressing his emotion. He wasn’t sad at all. More as if he’s relieved and content for someone to tell him that all is well. Y/c/n immediately wrapped his arms around his father’s neck and hugged the living hell out of him. Jason didn’t hesitate to hug back his son. As the two parted, your husband stood back up in his usual height.
“Now, get in there. You don’t want your teachers waiting.” Jason ruffled your son’s hair before Y/c/n left out of the alley and stepped on the school grounds.
As Y/c/n looked over his shoulder, he found the couple on a building waving him goodbye. He did the same and disappeared into the building.
-----
The two of you returned to the apartment. It was silent for the most part since the you both agreed to ‘get some air’ when you found Y/c/n. But none of that occurred when you helped Jason inside through the fire escape. He was slowly stripping from his suit and placing his pajamas on with caution. Another hiss from him caused you to place your mask down and help him pull down his shirt.
“Hey.”
“Yeah?”
“I’m sorry.” It took you a second to process the meaning of the words. Did he apologize? Wait- He apologized?
“...What?”
“I’m sorry. I’ll talk with Bruce about patrol and-”
“No, I should be the one who’s sorry… You… You always worked alone and risked yourself to get missions done. I should’ve trusted you more that you can defend yourself and come home safely. It was my fault.”
“Don’t say that.”
“I’m just afraid. Afraid...That you’ll die and leave me and Y/c/n alone. Like how you passed away and left your family and I when we were in high school.” His eyes widened at your confession. “I know! I shouldn’t even worry because you’re so much stronger now. But damn you. Damn you, whenever you come home ripping my soul from my body by how you suffer from your injuries. I know we have schedules for patrolling and taking care of Y/c/n but I’ll stop complaining and overreacting-”
You didn’t expect yourself to be in his arms, his face nuzzled in the crook of your neck, and your fired up spirit to be calmed by listening to the soothing beating of his heart. What a day.
“I think we have enough stress for one morning.”
“...Agreed.”
“I’ll talk with Bruce about patrols. In the meantime… let’s get some rest before Y/c/n comes back from school.”
“Alright…” Jason pulled away and was going to lead you to your shared bedroom before you stopped him. “I also have something else to say.”
“That is?”
“Well...more like an important question.”
“Ok?”
"How long have you had a crush on me?”

Strange to be an Eel
Turning into silly putty wasn't the strangest thing that had happened to him, honestly. It’s everything that happened after that which was weird.
"Please! I'm begging you, Jake bailed last minute and we don't have any replacements! This musical is our last chance. If this flops, we'll never be able to keep this place open!" She cried. 'She' being a short woman with desperate tears in her eyes and too many freckles.
Eel pulled his wrist out of her surprisingly strong grip. He shook his hand off and observed the woman in front of him. She looked stressed, tired, and a general mess. Her name tag read ‘Penny’.
"Well, Penny." He said curtly, "I got things to do. Better things to do than-"
"But you're the perfect fit! You're the right size, you already know all the lines-"
"Seeing a musical five times doesn't mean I've memorized-"
Penny snapped to attention and pointed her finger into the air dramatically. The imaginary audience located in the storeroom fell silent.
"And if I'm not here to save the day- Then as God as my witness, I'll be here to save the night!"
"-It's 'then as the gods as my witnesses'." Eel pointed out. Penny smiled smugly and Eel shook himself off.
"That doesn't prove anything. And it doesn't change the fact I can't go onstage!" Eel said.
"You'll be wearing makeup and goggles! A hat too! No one will be able to recognize you in costume!" Penny said, suddenly desperate again.
"No! I won't do it!" Eel said in response to her puppy eyes.
"Please! Please, Bruce Wayne's out there and if this goes well the PR will be fantastic!" She said, tears beginning to fall.
Eel looked up at the cracked ceiling and let out a long, long groan.
"I want 100 bucks." Eel said.
"Deal!" Penny said, the tears instantly evaporating.
Damn actors.
~~~
So, the musical rendition of the hit show 'The Grey Ghost' went pretty damn well, in Eel's opinion. He was skeptical at first, as anyone should be, but he had to admit it, Penny was right. He was an amazing Grey Ghost.
It helped that Eel had been a fan of the Grey Ghost since he was a boy, and it also maybe helped that he had snuck into the theater to see the practice runs of the play five times. He had thought he was being sneaky, but apparently theater kids could like, smell intruders. Fresh blood, if you would.
He hadn't known what would happen when he was cornered by a very manic little blond lady, but it ended up surprisingly well. He even got paid.
After he and the other actors had taken their bows or whatever, Eel snuck back to the storeroom. He pried off the grey suit- it was kinda itchy honestly- and began to dig around for his usual clothes.
He put his suit on. The nice one, that didn't pinch his shoulders and had all his crap in the pockets. He buttoned up the coat and pulled out his glasses. They were black and pretty slick, if he was honest with himself. Which he was. Occasionally.
The temples were wide and helped hide his eyes from the side. They hid his scar even better. They were sunglasses, unfortunately, not the best eyewear to have in Gotham, but he liked them. And that was enough for now.
They were also expensive as all hell. Some sort of designer brand. He would wear them till they broke for how much they cost him.
There was a knock on the door.
"I'm decent," Eel said.
Penny opened the door and held her clipboard to her chest excitedly. Her eyes sparkled.
"So." She said.
"So?" He asked.
"So! Y'know how Bruce Wayne was in the crowd tonight?" She asked.
"Yup," He said.
"He liked it! He liked it so much he wants to fund us!" She said, "And he wants to meet you."
Eel blinked. "He what?"
"He said your performance was incredible! He wants to meet you!"
"No."
"No?" She asked, her head cocked, "But you've got so much talent! He could get you a job, y'know."
"No. Just- no." Eel shook his head. He could just hear the sirens now. "I can't, Penny."
She seemed like she wanted to press him- like she did with getting him into the costume. But something on his face made her reconsider, apparently.
"Alright." She said, sighing, "I'll tell him you're not available."
"Thanks, pal." Eel said.
They stood awkwardly.
"I need to go." He said, pointing behind her to the door.
"I- okay." She said. Penny stepped aside and Eel left the storage room, Penny following behind. She led him to the backdoor.
"Um, thank you...?" She said as he stepped out into the alley.
"It's best if you don't know my name." Eel said.
"Will you be back?"
"Probably not." Eel said, "What with your success here tonight- I think there's going to be too much foot traffic around for a crook like me to be hidden."
She smiled softly, "You weren't very hidden in the first place."
"I'll have you know I've hidden from cops in more obvious spots."
"I think that says more about the GCPD than it does your skill," Penny said.
Eel huffed, mockingly offended.
"Later, miss." He said, turning to leave.
"Goodbye." She said.
Penny waved to his back and waited for him to slink into the shadows before she shut the door.
~~~
"Eel O'brian." A gruff voice called.
Eel grinned and craned his head around to look at a familiar face.
"Matches! Ol' pal, where've you been? It's been ages." Eel said.
Matches Malone slid into the seat next to him at the bar. The bartender wordlessly handed Matches a drink and Matches wordlessly slid a few bills over the counter.
Eel took a sip of his own drink- a cocktail.
"I've heard there's work around." Matches said, taking his match out of his mouth to take a sip of his drink. Whiskey probably.
"I mean, yeah-" Eel said, rolling the cherry around his glass for the hell of it, "But there's always work around."
"Hmm."
"Yeah yeah, I know what ya mean." Eel said, nodding. "You want the work that won't have you dressed up as a daisy and punched by a furry. I gotcha."
"Hmm."
"I miss the good 'ol days, Matches. Before all these folks in spandex came along and started going nuts all over town-" Eel paused, taking a sip of his cocktail, "-But I do got to admit it; the spandex is pretty hot."
"I need cash." Matches said, ever eloquent.
"Cheers to that!" Eel laughed. He downed the rest of his drink, swallowing the cherry.
"Where's the work?" Matches finally asked, and Eel's grin faltered. Always work and no play with this guy.
But Matches seemed to like him well enough, so Eel wouldn't hold it against him.
"So, new boss in the West part of town looking to hire some folks. I think they're hiding something pretty big, but we won't know that 'till we get there, won't we, Matches?" Eel said.
"Hmm."
"Yeah, me too buddy."
~~~
Things at the new job were getting crazy. Like, really really crazy. Like the type of crazy he spent a great amount of his time trying in vain to avoid. Super crazy.
Pun intended.
It started off fairly normal. By Gotham standards anyway. Looting places. Stealing. Scarin' the living daylights out of folks. Keeping out of the limelight.
But the boss turned out to be working for an even bigger boss- who had a penchant for monologuing- and Eel couldn't help the sinking feeling he had in his gut.
And then the boss- the small boss and not the bigger, monologuing boss- somehow kidnapped Batgirl of all people and decided to drown her. And he did it in this big glass chamber with a valve on the side.
He stood in front of it, glaring at each of his men accusingly.
He had each of them turn the valve, adding a few inches of water to the chamber, and taking few inches of air away from Batgirl. He was trying to root out a snitch. Or, as he put it, a bat.
Matches didn't even hesitate. Eel wished he had that guy's confidence.
But Eel? He wasn't a big fan of murder. It made him feel icky. It kept him awake at night. He already had enough insomnia, thank you very much.
And Batgirl- She was just a kid. A baby-faced teenager. Up close, she was no longer a force of nature fighting alongside a cryptid. She was a teenager up to her nose in water, her clothes torn and bloody.
Eel went last.
He put his hands on the valve and-
He couldn't do it.
He wouldn't.
A lot of things happened after that.
The boss (the small one) told the rest to shoot him down, and Eel had a half a second to view his terrible life before Matches tackled him to the floor.
The glass of the chamber broke and the room was suddenly flooded with a lot of water and one very mad vigilante. Then a window got busted in, even more glass flying, and then two Robins showed up- There was the young Robin who was grumpy and the other older Robin that wasn't Robin anymore but Eel couldn't really be bothered to remember his name at the moment.
There was fighting, gunfire, blood, and then there was glass in his hands-
And then Matches had somehow manifested them both outside and set Eel on his feet.
"You-" Eel spluttered, "You saved me!"
Matches looked at Eel. Eel looked at Matches. The street was quiet. Inside the building, it was not.
"Thank you." Eel said softly.
"...You cost me my payment." Matches said at last.
Eel's face fell.
"I just- She's just a kid, Matches. I ain't a monster." Eel said.
Matches shook his head and walked away, leaving Eel on the sidewalk with glass in his hands.
Guess he was wrong about Matches.
~~~
That day wasn't too bad, though. In the middle of the night he was woken up to a knock at his window. His fourth story window in his crappy apartment.
He opened his window and suddenly a basket was shoved into his arms. He fumbled with it for a second, his hands still raw. There was a blur of movement and Eel was left standing half-naked holding a- a gift basket?
He sorted through it- it had cash and cookies and bandages. It also had a plain white card. He opened it and raised a brow in surprise.
"Thanks for not drowning me!"
It was signed with a little bat drawn in the corner.
The cookies were delicious.

The safe was built into the wall. The safe itself wasn't too big, and the wall was only made of plaster. It would be a pain to lug the safe back to base though. And it would cost precious seconds to hack away at the wall to get the safe out-
There was really only one option. The bomb he had was small and wouldn't do much in terms of excavation- but it would absolutely open up that pesky Wayne-Tech lock.
"Alright guys, we need to get back-" Eel didn't hear anyone. He turned- "Guys?"
"It's been a while, O'brian." Batman said, surrounded by the unconscious bodies of his crime buddies. Well, not really buddies- you get the point.
"Batman! Hello! I don't think we've met," Eel said, swinging on his heel and turning to face his doom.
"No, we haven't. But when I didn't hear word from the police of any of your activity for a few months- well." Batman took a silent step closer. "One tends to worry."
"Oh? Me? Lil 'ol me? You shouldn't have." Eel batted his eyelashes, though the effect was diminished as he was wearing his shades.
"You plan these heists well." Batman said slowly, "You waited until the Riddler attacked to go for this safe. You got past the cameras without setting off the alarm. You tipped off the police of where you'd be- on the other side of town."
Eel tried to reach for the detonator on the bomb. If he could just- "You flatter me, Batman really, but I-"
"We could use a man like that on our side, O'brian." Batman said. "A smart man like you could do some real good in the world."
Eel laughed. That was the most wrong thing he'd ever heard. He laughed but it wasn't funny.
He pressed the button and the bomb started counting down from 10.
"I don't think so, Bats. I'm not the hero type." Eel said, and then tried to make a run for it. Batman caught him by the collar.
"It's not about types. There's good in you."
"I really wish I could stay and chat, but I gotta split." Eel said, slipping his arms out of his coat and breaking into a mad sprint.
The bomb let out a single shrieking beep before it detonated.
Eel didn't turn back to see what happened to Batman.
~~~
A deal went wrong. Unsurprising. They broke his leg. Unsurprising. He was alive. Surprising! Unfortunately, he was still very much crippled and bleeding out from somewhere.
He limped along the sidewalk at night, always a dumb thing to do. His vision was either going or the lighting in this city was getting worse by the moment. Given that he lived in Gotham, it was likely both.
He limped into a grassy part of the city- a park of some sort. He'd get caught soon. Or maybe he'd bleed out and die. He couldn't manifest the energy to care either way.
He flopped down onto the grass, for lack of any other bright ideas. He couldn't see the stars through the cloud cover. Tragic.
"Hey." A commanding voice called. He looked around until he spotted a scantily-clad woman. She was green and wearing leaves and had bright red hair and was looking at him like he was a pile of dead slugs.
Oh. Oh crap. Oh crap that's Poison Ivy.
Eel tried to shrink into the ground.
"Hiiiii Poison Ivy, how's the weather?" He asked. He tried to smile charmingly but it was most likely very strained and bloody.
"Why are you bleeding on my flowers?" She asked, a single brow raised.
"Haa, would you believe that blood makes a great fertilizer?" Eel said.
"It does." She said.
"Uh," Eel had lost too much blood for him to come up with a witty remark.
"Please don't kill me." He said.
"Greater men than you have begged for mercy. What makes you better?" She asked, head cocked.
"I can, uh," Eel panicked, "I can give you my grandma's recipe for caramel coffee."
Poison Ivy's other eyebrow raised.
They looked at each other for a moment.
Then, a shrill voice called from across the park.
"Ivy! Come on!! What are you even doing?!"
Eel was fairly certain he was hallucinating now. Blood loss and all that. Because Harley Quinn, wearing a football jersey and sweatpants, came running up to stand besides Poison Ivy.
"We're going to miss the game," Harley pouted, then took notice of Eel, "Who's that mess?"
"Someone who can make caramel coffee, apparently." Poison Ivy said, bemused.
"I like caramel." Harley said.
Poison Ivy shrugged, "We can keep him if you want."
"I also like coffee..." Harley tapped her chin in consideration, "Yeah we'll take him. Come on, Ivy!"
~~~
That was how he ended up getting high with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. His leg was propped up on a table, a bong was being passed around, the apparent football game played on the TV in front of them. They were in a greenhouse and the city’s lights shone through the glass almost magically. This was probably not what someone suffering from blood loss should be doing. Eel almost considered making a break for it.
But Poison Ivy was the Weed Queen of Gotham, and getting this stuff free? Too good to pass up.
Harely had seemingly forgotten about the promised coffee, but since they hadn’t killed him yet and gave him weed, Eel decided he'd write the recipe down for them before he left.
"I don't get why capes dress the way they do," Harely said, "I mean, rogues have the same problem but like, it's more noticeable with the heroes, y'know?"
"Like, the boob windows?" Ivy asked. Harley nodded enthusiastically.
"Yeah, yeah! The boob windows." Harely said, "Why do all the guys wear kevlar and body armor and the girls got to show off their tits?"
"Maybe the dudes should show off their tits too." Eel said.
Poison Ivy laughed and Harely nodded even more enthusiastically.
"Yeah! This guy gets it!"
"See, if I were to go running around in spandex-" Eel gestured to his very much not spandex coated body, "I'd show off my cleavage all the time."
"Men don't have cleavage," Ivy pointed out.
"Not with that attitude they don't." Harley said, "Say, Eel, if you ever get tits, come over so we can prove Ivy wrong."
Eel cackled, "Sure thing! And if I ever start wearing spandex as a hobby I'll make sure the V-neck plunges all the way down."
"You'd better!"
Ivy laughed and Eel was handed the bong again.
~~~
Eel wasn't even doing anything. He was in his apartment, minding his own business. Well actually he was trying to sleep but that wasn't going so well.
Then there was a tapping on his window. Feeling a sudden wash of deja-vu, Eel turned around. There was an otherworldly, haunting green glow coming from his window.
Pausing, and exercising a healthy amount of caution, walked over to the window.
A UFO hovered outside his window. A tiny one.
Eel rubbed his eyes.
The UFO bonked against the glass, seemingly wanting inside.
"uh," Eel said. Against every ounce of common sense, he opened the window.
The UFO flew inside his room, casting its light oddly through his home. There was a mechanical whir, and suddenly a robotic arm sprung out from the bottom of the ship.
"Uh," Eel said, regretting everything immediately.
The UFO then grabbed Eel by his good ankle, his other leg still in a cast for a few more weeks. He lost balance and hit his head on the floor. The small ship lifted him off the floor by his ankle, and then dragged him out the window. He tried to claw at the windowsill but the ship was too fast.
"UH,"
He dangled dangerously over what was at least a thirty foot drop. The UFO paid no mind to his panicked flailing, and instead began to go higher.
"OH GOD."
~~~
The small UFO took him to a bigger UFO, of course.
A small hole opened in the underside of the ship, and Eel was brought inside. The inside of an alien spaceship looked nearly identical to its outside, apparently. Weird and green.
The smaller ship finally dropped him off in a large circular room. He was set down gently on his back, but he still hissed in surprise. The metal floor was freezing and he was only in his shorts.
"Uh oh uh oh uh oh..." He muttered.
"Hello, human!" A cheery, buzzing voice greeted.
Eel looked around frantically and finally spotted a small, glowing blue light.
"Uh, hi?" He said to the light. The blue light bobbed up and down- excitedly?
"Human!" It said, "We are the-"
It said something that sounded eldritch to his human ears.
"-and we saw your performance!"
He blinked.
"...my what."
"On February 7th, approximately 11 months ago, you performed in the musical "The Grey Ghost Strikes Back!"." The light said. Several other colorful lights manifested around him.
"...uh huh."
"If you are wondering why you did not see us, the-" [REDACTED] "-in the crowd on the date of your performance, it is because we were not there."
"Ooohh kayyyy...."
"Batman recorded it and sent us a copy!"
Eel blinked. They were speaking alienese, he was certain of it.
"He also sent along with it 307 other forms of human entertainment as a welcome package to Earth!" It said, "And we must say, we really enjoyed your performance."
A red light, hovering just a little lower than the blue one, perked up.
"We especially enjoyed your performance in the third act, and would like to compliment your singing skills." The red light said.
"Thank you?" Eel said.
"If it is not too much trouble, human, we would like what is most commonly known to you as an 'autograph'." The blue light said.
"...alright."
~~~
The night started off odd, he'd admit it. But it wasn't bad. He signed some stuff. He didn't know what the things he signed were or what exactly he wrote with, but it hardly mattered. They asked him to sing a song from the musical- he did- and they somehow applauded him.
They gave him alien food, and he'd be damned if he didn't accept free food. Even if it was probably radioactive. It tasted like cotton candy. Again, not bad.
They told him a bit about their situation. Their home- somewhere on a different plane of existence- exploded. They were the last of their kind. Batman approached them, because he could do that apparently, and offered them a place on Earth.
"Our culture is based on entertainment. Each piece of what you call 'media' is like a fine work of art to us." They said.
"Oh, cool. So do you kidnap actors you like in other stuff?" Eel asked, trying to figure out the best way to consume the slime on a stick he'd been given. He decided there was no proper way to do that so he just decided to slurp it off.
"We would like to meet the actors and actresses in other media, but they usually just scream the whole time they are here. We gain the impression that they do not appreciate our hospitality." They said.
Eel shrugged, "I can't imagine why. You guys are great."
"You have taken this whole experience very well, comparatively."
"I mean- I'm a bit desensitized to weirdness." Eel said.
"Is this experience considered 'weird' to other humans?" They asked.
"Nah." Eel said, waving off their concern, and set his slime stick down, "Hey, I'd like to get home now. This has been fun and all, but it's kinda cold in here."
"Of course, human. We wish you fame and fortune for your future."
"Uh, you too?"
They dropped him off on the roof of his apartment building. The sun was beginning to rise. He made his way down the stairs, nearly naked and his leg still in a cast. He slept okay.
~~~
Eel was known for many things. He knew most, if not all, of those things were bad. Hell, all of the things he was known for would be bad to the common man. But to the common crook? Only most of those things would be considered bad.
Some of the things he was known for made him desirable.
He was a safecracker, he never got caught, he could make a good plan and stick to it. He was good at his job.
But Eel was not... valuable, per-say. He was a tool in most people's eyes. Something to be discarded when the job was done.
Eel knew this. Made his peace with it. He knew when he took this job that the guys he was working with didn't give two shits about him. But he needed their muscle for the security guards, and they needed his skill to crack the safe. They all needed the cash.
They walked into this big facility during a storm. Mr. Freeze was causing havoc in city hall again. The outer parts of the city didn't get the blizzard- they got the freezing rain.
The security guard appeared- he had a gun and he was willing to use it. If the folks he was working with were smart, which they weren't, they would have ran. Don't shoot back, don't have murder put onto your sentence along with theft and arson and everything else.
But they were stupid, and they shot blindly, and the guard shot Eel in the shoulder. And the bullet tore through his shoulder and into a container of something-
Another shot rang out, the guard fell.
There was a crack and suddenly Eel was soaked in something- it was bright and hot and it burned like the embers of Hell. He screamed, of course.
The people he was working with, his 'pals', stared at him for just a second.
"Eel-!"
"Eel doesn't have the cash, now run!"
Eel got up, and gave chase. His steps faltered and his vision swam.
He made it outside just in time to see them get into the car and book it.
"Adios, Eel!"
"You putrid punks!" He yelled, his hand clutching his shoulder. Everything burned. Everything throbbed. His pulse beat in his ears, the rain came down like knives, and the bullet hole poured blood like a faucet. But it was oddly thick- was it? The world kept wanting to wobble and spin.
The- the police. They'd be here soon. Maybe. Eventually. He needed to go.
He walked.
Down the street, down an alley, then another, then another, until the buildings began to spread out and trees and grass began to coat the land.
The rain was softer here. Warmer too. He climbed a shallow hill. Like climbing a mountain. His heart slammed the inside of his skull like a drum. There was a tree on the hill, its branches bare.
He collapsed beneath it.
He didn't have time to see if he could spot any stars before it all went black.
~~~
Eel's life had always, always been strange.
But it apparently that was just the beginning.
Dying From a Broken Heart
Part Two of Confidence
Warnings: Violence, angst, language, arguing, blood, fluff
Pairings: Jack x Winchester!Reader
Characters: Jack Kline, Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Castiel, Rowena, Eros, Reader
Word Count: 3.1k
Summary: While you and Jack are at the motel, you make a shocking discovery. You're not dealing with a pack of werewolves like you thought, but Eros, God of Love and Lust. You finally figure out the connection between Eros and the victims. . . Only to find out that you're next.
Tumblr media
You and Jack were still doing research when Sam and Dean came back. "Okay, so get this." You said, turning around in your chair. "Every year, six people go missing and are found dead with their hearts torn out."
"A ritual?" Sam inquired.
"Exactly what I was thinking, dear brother." You grinned. "Now, big city like this, six missing people is something you'd hardly notice."
"Yeah, but why would a werewolf preform a ritual?" Dean asked.
"That's what Jack and I kept asking ourselves." You said, looking over at your boyfriend. "Why in the world would a Purebred werewolf need to preform some kind of ritual?" You stood up, rummaging around in your backpack for a book. You gave a triumphant smile as you held up your Greek Mythology book.
"Eros. God of Love and Lust." You opened the book to the page that was dedicated to the god.
"But their hearts were torn out." Dean furrowed his eyebrows. "What would Eros want with hearts?"
"It's a sacrifice for him." You informed the men. "Think about it. None of the vics had bites or even scratches. At first, I thought it was a Purebred werewolf because the attacks didn't line up with the lunar cycle. But the more I thought about it, the more that this makes sense. People used to worship Eros and make sacrifices for him, but now hardly anyone believes in him anymore. So Eros goes out and gets his own sacrifices."
Sam and Dean seemed impressed while Jack seemed proud. "Okay." Dean nodded. "That means that since he failed with the last victim, he's going kill again."
You tried your hardest to think of some kind of connection with all the deceased. You knew there had to be something in common since they were dealing with a god. They seemed to be picky with their sacrifices.
"What are you thinking about, Y/n?" Jack asked, resting his hand on top of yours, something that didn't go unnoticed by your brothers. Dean was about to say something when Sam stomped on his foot, earning a grunt from Dean.
"I'm trying to find the connection between everyone. Because I know there has to be one." You picked at a tear in your jeans while you tried to connect the dots.
Then it hit you like a ton of bricks. You stood up abruptly, startling the men in the room. "I know what Eros looks in for a sacrifice." You stated, grabbing your notepad to look at the stuff you had written down. "Everyone we interviewed said the victims just had a big announcement. The 55 year old man was celebrating his 30th anniversary with his wife, the 28 year old woman was newly engaged, the 45 year old man just started dating again after his wife died, and so on until the fifteen year old girl. She had just gotten her first girlfriend when she was attacked."
"What are you saying, Y/n?" Jack questioned.
"I'm saying that Eros is targeting people with an immense amount of pure love. That's what he's looking for!"
"Wow." Sam said, looking at his little sister in admiration. "That's genius, Y/n." He patted her on the shoulder, only to furrow his eyebrows. "What's that on your collarbone?"
You gave Sam a confused look as you headed to the bathroom. There, on your collarbone was a dark red circle. You sucked in a sharp breath.
"I know who the next target is." You told the men.
"Who?" Jack seemed worried by the look on your face.
"It's me."
.
. .
. . .
"How did this even happen?!" Sam exclaimed.
"I don't know!" You defended yourself, your voice raised slightly. "The whole time we were out I was with you guys. Jack and I never left the motel room while you two were gone."
"That is true." Jack nodded. "Y/n and I stayed in here and she agreed to be my girlfri-"
You put your hand over his mouth. "Now's not the time, babe." You could feel Dean glaring a hole through you and Jack.
"Okay, let's think about this for a second." You said, trying to calm everyone down. "Maybe this is a good thing."
"A good thing?!" Dean roared. "Y/n, how in the hell is this a good thing?!"
"Dean." Sam hissed, cuffing his brother. "Calm down and let Y/n talk." You threw Sam a grateful look.
"This way we can lure Eros out, and kill him. Apparently all it takes is a wooden stake dipped in lambs blood."
"I don't like this plan." Jack muttered.
"See! Thank you." Dean said, clearly pleased with the Nephilim.
"Jack-"
"No, Y/n. You're not going to put yourself in danger just to kill this god. I won't allow it."
"Oh for the love of-" You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Eros is coming for me either way. It's better to be prepared and have a plan rather than to just sit here and let him tear my heart out!"
"Don't talk like that!" Jack insisted angrily. You understood that he was worried about you, but you were a grown woman and could make your own decisions.
"It's inevitable, Jack." You said softly. "Eros will come for me. We know from the victims that he kills them 24 hours after being marked. I have maybe 18 hours at best."
Dean was furious. "This is your fault!" He growled at Jack. "You're the reason my baby sister is being targeted!"
Jack looked taken aback. "I didn't want this for Y/n." He said sincerely. "If I could trade places with her, I would."
"That's the problem!"
"Dean-" You started, only to get interrupted by your oldest brother.
"You think you're in love with her, but you're not! It's unnatural. Nephilim, they can't fall in love. All those stupid movies that Y/n and Sam let you watch made you think you're in love with her. You can't love Y/n."
You felt your throat close up, hurt by Dean's words. "Is it that hard to think someone could love me?" You whispered.
Dean's hard glare softened as his eyes landed on you. "Of course not, sweetheart. But Jack. . . He's not right for you."
"Oh, and you know what's best for me?" You growled. Your hurt turned to annoyance and anger.
"Yes, I do. I'm your brother."
Sam and Jack gave each other looks. It was bad when Sam and Dean argued, but when you and Dean argued, it was catastrophic.
"And John was my dad, and he never knew what was best for me! That doesn't mean anything!"
"Oh, so family doesn't mean anything to you?"
"Dean, come on man, you know that's not what she meant." Sam tried to reason.
"Stay out of it, Sam!" Dean yelled.
You could tell Sam was growing annoyed with Dean. His frown deepened, his eyes hardened, and his hand began to twitch.
"No! I won't stay out of it. I am tired of you mistreating Jack and Y/n!"
"Oh, I do not mistreat them!" Dean argued. "Jack, do I mistreat you?" Jack seemed uncomfortable being put on the spot. You knew he looked up to Dean, but Dean had also said some rather hurtful things about Jack.
While Sam, Dean, and Jack continued their argument, you were able to slip away unnoticed.
You were crying now, the thought of dying scared the crap out of you. And your brothers and Jack arguing didn't help the situation.
You looked around the parking lot, looking for something to hotwire. You came across a black Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport. And the dumbass was stupid enough to leave the keys in the ignition.
You started the engine, listening to the bike purr. You threw back the kickstand and began driving. You didn't know where you were going, all you knew was that you had to get out of there.
You weren't stupid, of course, you had your gun and a silver dagger just in case.
You planted both of your feet on the ground at a stop light. You were still crying, and you couldn't figure out why. You were just so angry.
You ended up stopping at a small dive bar outside of Little Rock. There were a total of ten people there, and most were men.
You flag down the bartender and order a beer. Around twenty minutes later, a man slide in the seat beside you. He said nothing as he ordered a drink. The man seemed so familiar to you, but you couldn't put your finger on it. He had curly, dark brown hair, and beautiful blue-grey eyes. He was handsome in all aspects of the word. But he was nothing compared to Jack.
"I've never seen you here before." He said to you.
"Oh, I uh - I'm just passing through." You gave him a tight smile.
You felt your phone buzz in your pocket. You grabbed it, looking down to see that Dean's as calling you. You sent him to voicemail, something that was bound to piss him off.
"Guy troubles?" The man inquired.
"More like brother troubles." You laughed. "I'm Y/n, by the way."
"Elliott." He smiled, showing off a gleaming row of white teeth. "So, what's going on with your brother?"
"Brother's, actually. They treat me like a baby, just because they're older than me."
"That's what brothers are supposed to do." Elliott shrugged. "They're supposed to look out for you, protect you." Your phone rang again, this time, it was Sam. You sent him to voicemail as well and put your phone on silent.
"Yeah, I guess." You agreed. "But -" You cut yourself off, not wanting to dump all your feeling onto this random stranger.
"But what?" He asked, curious to what your response was.
"There's this guy, this amazing, wonderful, sweet and funny guy. He cares about me, and I care about him, but my oldest brother, he thinks we shouldn't be with each other." You confessed, taking a sip of your beer.
"Is he respectful towards you?" You nodded. "He cares about you and treats you right?" You nodded once more. "Then what's the problem?"
"I don't know." You mumbled. "My brother just doesn't trust him, even though he has no reason not to."
"Call it a brother's intuition." Elliott grinned. You blinked as your vision began to blur. "Hey, you okay?" You let out a slurred response. "Let's get you some air." Elliott helped you out of your chair and outside. You felt the cold air nip at your cheeks, making you feel a thousand times better.
Your head began to spin, the world shifting around you. "I don't feel so well." You groaned. Your body went limp, and the last thing you felt was a pair of strong arms wrapping around you to keep you from falling.
.
. .
. . .
"Guys!" Jack yelled over Sam and Dean, trying to catch their attention. "GUYS!" Jack's eyes flared orange, finally getting Sam and Dean to stop arguing. "Where's Y/n?"
Sam and Dean looked around the room frantically. Jack looked into the bathroom and found nothing. "Damnit!" Dean growled. "How could she have left without us noticing?!"
"Well, you and Sam were rather angry, I think it was very easy for her to slip away." Dean glared at Jack.
"So help me God, if a single hair on her head is out of place, all hell will break loose, and it'll be on you." Sam sighed, shaking his head.
Dean dialed your phone number, looking apprehensive. "Y/n, I swear if you sent me to voicemail on purpose, I am going to kill you! Answer me, damnit!"
"Let me try." Sam mumbled. "Y/n, please call and let us know you're okay. We're worried."
"I can find her." Jack said hopefully. He closed his eyes, searching for any sign of you. He saw you sitting next to a guy in a bar, he saw the man put something in your drink, and he saw you pass out outside of the bar.
Jack grew angry. He knew what happened to you was wrong, he could feel you were in distress. "She's in trouble."
.
. .
. . .
"Wakey wakey, sunshine!" Elliott cheered as he threw water on your face. You gasped, bolting awake. You found that you were bound in a chair, the thick rope cutting into your skin. You looked around to see that you were in some kind of a abandoned building.
You were relieved to see that you still had on all your clothes. "I was worried for a second. I thought I might have given you too high of a dose for your body."
"You roofied me." You groaned.
"I did! But you have to understand, Y/n, I would have never gotten you out of there otherwise. You're one of the strongest sacrifices I've ever had."
"Eros." You said in realization.
"Ding ding ding! We have a winner!" Eros almost seemed happy by the situation. "You are going to be one of the best sacrifices I've had. A hunter with a strong heart full of compassion and pure love. The perfect candidate."
"Please," You whimpered. "Let me go."
Eros sucked in a breath, faking remorse. "You see, I wish I could. . . But I can't. I need you. Ever since the last sacrifice escaped, I've been looking for a new one. And then your brother's, boy wonder and you roll into town. I knew as soon as I saw you that you were perfect. Almost too perfect."
You felt a tear slip down your cheek. "Please. I don't want to die. I'm only 21, there's so much things I haven't done yet. Let me live." You pleaded.
"I was hoping you'd say that." Eros grinned, pulling up a chair in front of you, sitting with his chest on the back of the chair. "I was actually looking for a wife." He gave you a wicked grin that made you squirm in your seat. "I need an heir, or heiress, I don't discriminate. I just want someone to pass my powers off to, to teach. So, I can let you live if you agree to be my wife."
"Rot in hell." You spat, disgusted by the thought of marrying Eros. He grew annoyed, as he punched you, your head snapping back.
"That's too bad." Eros shook his head. "But, at least I'll get to enjoy killing you."
You watched in horror as Eros' fingernails grew into sharp, claw-like hands, almost like a werewolves. You screamed in pain as he drew his finger over your face. "Shh, shh, love. It's gonna be okay." You gave out a small cry, struggling against the ropes.
"The more you struggle, the more it's going to hurt." Eros said in a singsong voice.
You began whispering apologies in your head, to Sam, Dean, Jack, Cas, Rowena, everyone. There were so many unfinished words, so many unsaid 'I love you's,'
"I'm sorry." You whispered. You screamed out once more as Eros dug his nails into your chest.
"Y/N!" You heard Dean yell. Sam, Dean and Jack appeared from behind a crate, your brothers carrying guns, and we'll, Jack himself was a weapon.
"Ah, ah, ah." Eros grinned wickedly. "I am holding her life in the palm of my hand; literally. So put down those shiny guns, and step away from them." Sam and Dean looked at each other. Eros scowled as he dug his nails deeper into your skin. You cried out in pain, feeling his nails getting closer to your heart.
"Alright! Alright!" Sam said hastily, setting down his gun and stepping away, encouraging Dean to do the same.
You were quite the sight for the men. You had blood coating your clothes, a bruised eye from the blows that Eros landed earlier, your hair was a mess and you face was streaked with tears.
"Get away from her!" Jack bellowed.
"Oh, look, it's your lover boy." Jack's words only made Eros angrier, as he retracted his hand, and swiped his claws over your face, creating four long gashes.
"I said get away from her!" Jack's eyes began to glow orange, and he trembled with anger. Eros looked frightened as he was sent flying back into the wall.
Sam and Dean surged forward, both carrying a wooden stake dipped in lambs blood, while Jack went to help you.
"It's okay," He whispered. "I've got you." You gave out a small whimper as he cut the ropes. "Can you stand?" You tried to stand up with the help of Jack, but your knees buckled beneath you. Jack scooped you up in his arms. You buried your head in his chest, turning away from you brothers, who were currently killing Eros.
"Take me home." You mumbled before darkness enveloped you.
.
. .
. . .
When you awoke, you were in your bed at the bunker, surrounded by Cas, Sam, Dean, Jack and Rowena.
"Y/n." Dean breathed a breath of relief as he hugged you. You winced in pain, your body still sore from you attack. "I am so sorry. I never should have said those things to you. I'm so glad you're okay."
"It's okay, Dean." You assured him. Even though you said you were fine, there was still pain swimming in his eyes.
"We couldn't heal your wounds with magic," Rowena informed you. "Since Eros was the one to injure you, it will have to heal naturally. I did make you some herbs that will stop the pain, however."
"Thanks, Rowena." You smiled. The room began emptying out, everyone wanted to let you rest. Jack, however, didn't leave your side.
"I'm sorry, Y/n." He whispered.
"Why are you sorry?" You asked, squeezing his hand.
"I let you get hurt. I should have gotten there sooner." You saw there were tears in his eyes. You frowned as you scooted over.
"Come lie beside me." Jack hesitantly climbed into the bed, pushing aside the covers. You wrapped your arms around his middle and rested your head on his chest. "You got me out of there when you did. I'm okay, and that's all that matters."
"But-"
You cut Jack off with a kiss. "I don't want to talk about it anymore." You mumbled, cupping his cheek. "I just want you to hold me."
"I can do that." Jack nodded, pulling you closer to his body. You decided to put on a movie as you and Jack cuddled. Halfway through the movie, you ended up falling asleep. Jack didn't sleep that often, but he felt so at peace that he fell asleep as well.
When everyone came to check on you again, their hearts melted at the sight of you and Jack. "Oh, just look at them." Rowena whispered to the men. "They're so cute."
"Yeah," Dean nodded. "They are."
A kick in the head part 2👀
I don't think Tumblr wants you to know what's happening in this fic. Chrome crashed my laptop three times trying to queue this one. 😂
Ok, so A Kick in the Head found Mini Lu getting zapped to the future and coming to terms with oh shit we have how many kids and a farm, right? Pt2 finds Big Lu back in Mini Lu's body, trying to help LB stop the akuma while also reassuring her they're ok because holy crap I forgot how bad things were back then. And for some reason I decided to write it backwards (I did the end first, which I rarely do), so the end has Big Lu and Big Mari talking things over.
Aaaaand maybe Big Lu looking for some reassurance of his own.
Aaaaaaaaaand maybe a member of the Band cockblocking as they do unable to sleep because noooo Papa's broked...
He didn’t argue this time, instead meeting her kiss for kiss as she continued to brush her fingers through his hair. After a few moments of lazily making out, she smiled down at him. “Feeling better?”
“A bit,” he said. His smile turned into a grin as he rolled his hips up, making her giggle as she felt his arousal press into her. “Could feel a bit better, though. You know how taxing these trips can be.”
She rolled her eyes and bent back to him, smiling as his hands ran along her sides. Taxing was one way to put it, she supposed, though this time the term did seem more appropriate. The truth was her husband was just a horny bastard, and they had the six kids to prove it. She hummed into his kiss when his hands slipped under her top, his thumbs reaching around to brush along her breasts.
“I love you, Marinette,” he whispered by her ear, his face pressing against her neck as his arms wrapped around her back and held her close.
“I love you,” she answered, nudging his jaw with her nose to turn his face back to hers. They shared a smile before she kissed him again, an appreciative hum leaving him as her hand drifted down between them. Before her fingers could slip inside the waistband of his pants, however, a whimpering cry started up down the hall. They both froze, waiting to see if it was just a fussy moment that would pass. When the cries settled, Luka went to recapture her lips – until they heard the footsteps padding towards their door.
“Go back to bed, go back to bed…” Luka mumbled against her mouth, and she giggled at his groan when a tiny hand slapped against their door.
“M-Maman,” Clara’s little voice whimpered. “P-Papa!”
Luka sighed, kissing her cheek before she could roll off of him, and clambered to his feet. She snickered when he adjusted his pants, and then smothered her laugh with a pillow when the glare he tried to send her ended up being more of a pout. He heaved another sigh as he knelt down by the door and reached for the handle. He’d barely opened it before Clara tottered in and crashed into his chest.
“Hey, hey,” he cooed, rubbing her back. “Why aren’t you in bed, baby?”
“Papa broked his head,” she whimpered. He shot a look over his shoulder when Marinette snorted, ducking her face back into her pillow.
“I’m ok, sweetheart,” he said, pushing her back a little. She looked up at him with big, teary eyes, and he smiled as he tapped his knuckles against his head. “See? No broken heads here.”
“M-Mellie said you were cussin’,” she said. There was another muffled bark of laughter from the bed, one that sounded suspiciously like a choked “Swear jar!” Luka did his level best to ignore it. He took Clara’s hand and placed it near his wound.
“Concussion,” he said, bending his head closer to Clara as she felt around. “And barely one at that. See? Maman already patched me up. I’m fine, baby.”
Except Clara pressed a bit harder than he had against his stitches, and he winced, and her eyes filled with tears again as she threw herself back at his chest, her tiny arms wrapping tight around his neck.
“No you’re not you’re broked!” she wailed. He sighed and wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her back and making soothing, shushing sounds. She wiggled closer to him, her cries only getting louder.
“It’s ok, Clara. It’s ok,” he said. He glanced back at Marinette, who was biting her lip as she watched them. She nodded and waved him back towards the bed. He kissed the top of Clara’s head and scooped her up. She snuggled closer. He toed the door shut before carrying her over to the bed. “It’s ok, sweetheart. How about you stay with us tonight? Just so you know I’m ok?”
“B-big girls sleep in their own beds,” she sniffled. Marinette smoothed her hair back and kissed her head.
“Big girls do, but sometimes big girls just need to know their papas are ok, too,” she said. She scooted over and held her arms out, but Clara just held onto him tighter. He shot Marinette a helpless little smile, shrugging before he laid down beside her. Clara, still on his chest, snuggled closer as Marinette pulled the blanket over them. She didn’t protest when Marinette pressed against his side, her arm moving to rest half on his own and half on Clara’s back. “I was scared about Papa, too, baby.”
“M-Maman’s not scared of nothing,” Clara whimpered. Her cries had mostly died off, though her face was still streaked with tears. Marinette smiled at her as she reached up to brush them away with her thumb.
“Oh, I was plentyscared when your sister said he’d been hurt,” she said. She glanced up at him, and he mouthed I love you. Her smile warmed before she looked back at their daughter. “I love Papa very much, just like I love you very much. I’m scared about you all the time. Remember that time you fell off the truck bed?”
“M’sorry, Maman,” she mumbled, her eyes drooping now that her crying was done. Marinette leaned up and kissed her forehead. “Love you.”
“I love you, too, sweetheart,” she said. “Now try and sleep for us? We’ll be right here when you wake up. Promise”
“Ok, Maman,” she mumbled. Her eyes closed, and a few moments later her breathing evened out. Luka grinned down at Marinette.
“…think I can actually get her back in her own bed without waking her up?” he whispered. She pinched his side, and he smirked.
“Don’t you dare, Luka,” she scolded. “We both promised she could stay. You’ll have to wait.”
“Worth a try,” he chuckled, smiling when she scooted up to give him a final kiss. “At least that’s one thing Mini Lu doesn’t have to worry about.”
She snorted, snuggling into his side and adjusting her grip on Clara.
“Mini Lu won’t have to worry about that for a long while yet,” she tutted. He chuckled, but as Clara yawned and wiggled, her tiny hand fisting in his shirt, he couldn’t help but think that he was still getting the better end of the deal. Marinette shimmied, nudging the arm not holding Clara until he’d wrapped it around her, and he smiled as he dropped a kiss against her head.
Yeah.
He definitely had the better end of the deal.
All Too Well
Tumblr media
Summary: Bucky can’t let Steve’s memory go.
Word Count: 3.6k
And away, and away we go!
__
The plain black ball cap was pulled low on his head as he trudged his way through the museum. He was stupid for being there. A whole ass museum literally dedicated to his ex. But it was somehow the only place he ever found peace. The memories couldn’t swallow him whole when they were plastered on the walls. It was the one place he could allow himself to be angry for how everything had played out.
His fingers fiddled with the cool metal hanging from his neck, feeling the rise and fall of the letters stamped in it. “Fuck you, Steve,” he muttered darkly. “Fuck. You.”
~~~
“Shouldn’t I be the nervous one?” Bucky asked with a laugh, as he watched Steve take three hurried steps for every single stride of his. “I’m the one meeting your mother.”
“Yeah, but… I’ve never brought anyone home before,” Steve mumbled, his face turning red. “Girls don’t exactly throw themselves at me the way they throw themselves at you.”
“Mmm, well, good thing I’m not a girl then.”
Steve choked, his face growing an even brighter shade of red.
“Oh…” Bucky said in realization. “You didn’t tell her, did you?”
Steve answered by picking up his speed, the leaves crunching under his rapid footsteps.
“Steve. Did you, or did you not tell your mother about me?” Bucky asked, easily lengthening his own stride to keep up with the smaller man. “Answer me.”
Steve snorted, shoving his hands in his pockets, his eyes glued to the pavement. “Of course I told her about you. She knows you’re coming.”
“Steve.”
His feet slowed to a stop, and his shoulders slumped as he spared a glance upwards at Bucky. “You’re not mad, are you?” he asked with concern.
Bucky smiled warmly, draping an arm across Steve’s shoulders. “No, I’m not mad. But you gotta be the one to tell her.”
“Buck, no,” Steve pleaded, his eyes wide. “I-I can’t.”
“I’m not gonna be your dirty secret, Steve.”
“I never said you were!”
“Then tell your mother.”
Steve’s footsteps were heavy with dread as he dragged himself up the porch of a house Bucky assumed was his mother’s. Steve’s breath was slow as he steadied himself, squaring his shoulders, his face getting a determined look to it, but his eyes still held traces of fear as he looked up at Bucky.
“I’m right here, sweetheart,” Bucky said in a low, reassuring voice, his hand giving Steve’s arm a small squeeze of encouragement.
Another slow breath and Steve pushed his way into the home with a call of “Mom! We’re here!”
A woman poked her head out of the kitchen, a big smile on her face. “Steve! And you must be James,” she said, her attention quickly shifting from her son to Bucky.
“Pleasure to meet you, ma’am,” Bucky greeted her politely.
“Please, have a seat,” she gestured at the couches. “Make yourselves at home. Can I get you boys anything to drink? Eat?”
“I got it, Mom,” Steve told her, joining her in the kitchen while Bucky perched himself on the edge of a couch cushion.
“Steve, you didn’t tell me your friend was so…” Mrs. Rogers cleared her throat before whispering, “handsome.”
Bucky felt his face heat up at the compliment, while his fingers curled into fists at the mention of ‘friends’.
“Erm,” Steve coughed. “Yeah, Mom, about that… Buck and I… Buck, he’s my… We’re…”
“Steve, Steve,” she interrupted her son’s fumbling, a hand resting gently on his shoulder. “He’s not your friend, is he?”
The blonde shook his head sheepishly. “No… He’s… So much more than that.”
“Hmm…” Mrs. Rogers pursed her lips together as her eyes swept over Bucky who offered up a shy smile. “James, would you like to see pictures of Steve from when he was little?”
Whatever sigh of relief Steve was about to let out quickly changed to a groan. “Mom…”
Bucky let out a laugh, “You mean more little than he is now? I'd love to.”
Hours later, Bucky was still awake on the couch when soft footsteps padded down the hallway. “What are you doing, sneaking about?” he asked in a whisper when the fridge door pulled open, illuminating Steve in a soft glow.
Steve jumped, hand flying to his chest. “Jesus, Buck! I thought you were asleep.”
“Well, see…” he said, as he got up. “I was about to. But now you’re here. What are you doing?” Each word he spoke brought him closer to Steve, pressing him against the kitchen counter.
“I was getting water,” Steve gulped out, holding up a glass as evidence.
“You sure that’s the only reason?” Bucky asked, his hands roaming Steve’s waist.
“Buck…” Steve’s voice was a low whine as he squirmed away. “C’mon, not here.”
“Fine, fine,” he said, pulling back, but keeping his hands on Steve. “Dance with me, then.”
“Dance with you? Here? Now? There’s no music.”
“I wasn’t asking you.”
“I take it that you got a kick out of my mom embarrassing me this afternoon?” Steve asked as he let Bucky dance him around the kitchen.
“You shouldn’t be embarrassed about your past, sweetheart. It all led to you being you.”
“I suppose. But it’s really not fair that I can’t meet your parents and spend an afternoon listening to them embarrass you.”
“Yeah. They would have loved you, too. But I’ll tell you anything you wanna know.”
“You will?”
“Mhm. How else can we build a future if we don’t know each other’s pasts?”
“You really want to be my future?”
“I really do. Do you wanna be mine?”
“More than anything,” Steve nodded, before resting his head against Bucky’s chest. “I love you, Buck.”
“I love you too, sweetheart.”
~~~
The bottle lay empty before him on the coffee table. His throat burned as he drained the last sip from his glass. He knew if he looked in a mirror his eyes would be rimmed red but it had nothing to do with the alcohol consumption. Not being able to get drunk enough to drown out Steve’s memory was easily the thing Bucky hated most about being a super soldier.
“Don’t do anything stupid,” he deadpanned before his face pinched and he hurled the glass as hard as he could across the room. “UNTIL THE END OF THE LINE!” he bellowed, swiping the bottle off the coffee table in an angry motion as tears poured down his face.
With a mangled cry of heartache and rage, Bucky shattered like the glass shards decorating the floor, breaking apart like Steve’s promises.
~~~
Bucky gripped the enlistment form angrily in his fist, crumpling it. “Again?” he demanded sharply. “How many times are you gonna do this, Steve?”
“As many as it takes,” Steve replied icily.
Bucky sighed, rubbing at his face in agitation. “No. You have to stop doing this.”
“Why?”
“It’s illegal for one thing!” Bucky snapped. “And for another, I’m telling you no! You’re not allowed to enlist, do you understand me?!”
“Not allowed?!” Steve hollered back, matching his boyfriend’s anger.
“Yes! I’m forbidding you from enlisting!”
“Do you realize how stupid you sound?! There’s a war going on, Bucky! They need men to fight!”
“How stupid I sound?! Steve, you’ve been rejected four times for a reason! No sane person is going to let you fight!”
“So I’m supposed to just let you go?!”
“You think I want to go?! I don’t have a choice here! Believe me, if I did, I wouldn’t be going! So why the hell are you so pressed to go yourself?! What are you trying to prove?!”
Steve glared up at Bucky in startling realization. “You don’t think I can do it… Nobody does… You all think I’d be a dead man walking…”
“Steve…”
“No! It’s the truth, isn’t it? Nobody believes that scrawny asthmatic Steve Rogers can be a bonafide American soldier… Well… I expected it from them, Buck. But from you? You can’t even believe in me?” He hung his head sadly. “Wow…”
“Steve…” Bucky repeated, hating the look of betrayal on his boyfriend’s face. “Sweetheart…”
Steve held up a hand. “Don’t. You can’t ‘sweetheart’ your way out of this.”
“I’m not trying t-” Bucky’s hands curled into fists at his sides. “God damn it, Steve, of course I believe in you. But can you also understand that the only reason I’m at peace going to war myself is because I know you’ll be safe here? God… if anything happened to you… I’d… I’d…”
“Can you understand that I don’t want to sit here and pray you’ll come back? That I don’t want to have to worry about your safety either?”
“Cuz joining the war’s gonna stop you from worrying? That’s a load of crap.”
“No, it wouldn’t stop me from worrying about you, but it’d be a hell of a lot better than sitting at home, twiddling my thumbs for God knows how long!”
“You know… I always knew you were stubborn. But I thought you’d draw the line at DYING!”
“WHO SAID I WAS GOING TO DIE?!”
“OH I DUNNO! MAYBE THE FUCKIN’ WAR THAT’S KILLING EVERYONE?!”
“AND HOW DO YOU THINK THAT MAKES ME FEEL KNOWING THAT YOU COULD BE ONE OF THEM, BUCK?! HUH?!”
“YOU JOINING THE WAR DOESN’T PROTECT ME! And if you can’t realize that… God damn it! One of us stands a really good chance of making it out of this hell alive, and you wanna give that up?”
“The future doesn’t mean shit to me if you’re not around for it, Bucky.”
“You can’t protect me from this, and I get how angry that makes you. But lying on enlistment forms isn’t the brave or noble thing. It’s just stupid. And I’m sorry if that hurts your feelings, or if you wanna take that as me not believing in you. But I need you to promise me that you’re gonna stop enlisting, or I swear I’ll report you myself.”
“Buck…” Steve cried in a broken whisper, a tear sliding down his face. “This isn’t fair…”
Bucky pulled Steve into his arms, resting his chin in the golden locks as Steve sobbed in his arms. “Promise me, sweetheart. Nothing stupid until I get back. And I will. I’ll come back.”
~~~
“This isn’t fair!” Bucky wailed into his hands, still curled up on the floor. The tight band around his chest made him fight for each sobbed breath that wracked through his body. “I kept my promises! Why couldn’t you keep yours?! What did I do wrong?! All I ever wanted was for you to love me back! Was that too much to ask of you?! For you to love me back?! THIS ISN’T FAIR!”
~~~
Bucky sat quietly while Steve cleaned up his face, his mind reeling. He hadn’t been able to trust his thoughts in so long, captivity under Hydra control making the line between reality and fantasy blurred. And even with Steve physically in front of him, he still wasn’t sure if he was real or not. After all, the Steve he’d left in New York had been so much different than the Steve standing before him now. How did a grown man have a growth spurt of this proportion in a handful of months?
He knew Steve was no doubt telling him the story of his magical growth spurt, as the blonde’s lips were moving rapidly. But Bucky couldn’t process much beyond “genetic testing” and “serum” as his mind slowly went from acceptance to heartache. If Steve was real, it meant all his memories of him were too. And if that was the case, why did Steve keep making eyes at the woman in the room with them? Was the love part not real? Had that been some sick coping mechanism to keep him from going insane? The thought that someone out there loved him being enough to keep him from becoming the homicidal maniac Hydra wanted?
“I’m sorry,” Bucky interrupted, a different word catching his attention. “Grenade?”
Steve and the woman shared a sheepish smile. “Yes,” she nodded. “In training, Captain Rogers here threw himself on top of a grenade.”
“Captain? Wow,” Bucky said, his tone both bitter and impressed. “Um… Peggy, was it? Could you excuse us for a moment?”
“Yes, of course. My apologies. And welcome back, Sergeant Barnes.”
Steve gulped as the tent flap closed behind Peggy, leaving him alone with Bucky. “Buck-” he started, scrambling to defuse the look of cold steel Bucky fixed him with.
“A grenade?” Bucky whispered terrifyingly low. “A grenade?!”
“It didn’t go off…”
Bucky jumped to his feet. “A GRENADE?! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!”
“I WAS THINKING I WAS GIVEN A CHANCE AND I TOOK IT!”
“YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO STAY HOME!”
“AND LOOK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I DIDN’T! OR NEED I REMIND YOU THAT I JUST SAVED YOUR LIFE?!”
Bucky set his jaw stubbornly. “You think I got captured on purpose? It was an ambush, Steve.”
Steve sighed. “I didn’t say it was your fault.”
“You didn’t have to… I promised you I’d come back, and I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain. But you… you little…”
“I’m not little anymore…”
“Shut up before I get more mad at you.”
Steve’s face crumpled. “You’re mad at me?”
“Of course I’m mad at you! I specifically told you not to do anything stupid! And what do you do? You went and did something stupid! Genetic testing?! Jumping on a grenade?!”
“Again… the grenade didn’t go off. And I wouldn’t say I ‘jumped’ on it exactly. ‘Curled my body around it’ is far more accurate.”
“Shut up!” Bucky thundered. “I don’t know whether I should kiss you in relief, or kick your ass for being so stupid.”
Steve offered up a shy smirk. “I mean… you could try to kick my ass. But I don’t think it would work out very well.”
With a growl, Bucky stalked over to Steve, hand gripping the younger man’s throat as he easily threw Steve against the wall, Steve’s boots hovering above ground. “Wanna retract your statement, Captain?”
Steve grinned. “I’ve missed you too, Buck,” he croaked.
In a flash Bucky dropped Steve before enveloping him in a rib crushing hug. “Don’t you ever scare me like this again, you understand me?” His voice was a cracked whisper as he savored the feeling of Steve in his arms again.
Steve held Bucky back, the new strength strange but comforting to Bucky. “I know you want me to be sorry, but I can’t. I can’t apologize for getting you back.”
“But everything before that?”
“It won’t happen again?” Steve offered.
“It won’t-” Bucky started to repeat in bafflement before he let out a loud laugh. “You’re a little shit, Rogers.”
Steve nuzzled his face into Bucky’s neck. “But you still love me, right?”
Bucky continued to chuckle, combing his fingers through Steve’s hair. “Yes, I still love you. More than you’ll ever know.”
“And you’re not mad at me anymore?” The blue eyes were wide and sad as they peered up at him. “Please don’t be mad at me anymore.”
“I’m getting there,” Bucky answered truthfully, his fingers reaching out to grip Steve’s chin when Steve tried to hide his face in shame. “There’s a lot to get used to.”
“I’m still me, Buck. I just look different.”
“Different looks good on you,” Bucky stated, letting his eyes roam Steve’s new body hungrily. “Really good.” His fingers moved to ghost along the muscles in Steve’s arms, his tongue wetting his lips. And he took great satisfaction in the way Steve’s face flushed and the moan that ripped out of his throat when Bucky’s lips connected with the Captain’s.
~~~
Bucky grasped at the dog tags around his neck like a lifeline. Each run of his fingers across the letters loosening the tightness in his chest. Each breath a little easier to gasp out.
Slowly he pushed himself to his feet, chuckling darkly at the irony of it all. For years he had been afraid to trust his thoughts, never sure of what was real and what wasn’t. But when it came to Steve? He remembered everything. And he could recall it all in shocking clarity and detail. Every laugh, every kiss, every tear. He could picture it all like it was still happening, even though it all was long gone now. Memories that could never fade.
~~~
Bucky listened to the soft rain falling outside his window as he stared up at the ceiling in the dark. He wasn’t a stranger to nightmares waking him up, but this one was new. No fighting, or violence. Just a watery pair of blue eyes and a quivering lip.
All Bucky had to do was turn his head to find Steve sleeping peacefully beside him, lips parting slightly with each slow breath. But this was a nightmare Bucky couldn’t shake. One he couldn’t predict the ending to. He just knew it was coming. And he kept trying in vain to stop it, or at the very least prolong it.
Steve let out a small whimper as he shifted in his sleep, searching for Bucky, and sighing in content when he found him. Even with his super soldier body, he still sought out the comfort that was Bucky. And somehow that hurt Bucky all the more as he twisted ever so slightly to stamp a kiss against Steve’s forehead. “Shh,” he soothed quietly. “I’m right here.”
Steve stirred more in his sleep, eyes fluttering open slowly. “Hey,” he rasped slowly. “You didn’t have another nightmare, did you?”
Bucky shook his head. “No,” he lied. “Just can’t fall asleep. Soft bed… you know…”
Even in the dark, Bucky could see Steve frown. “What’s on your mind, Buck?”
“It’s nothing.” Another lie.
“Buck.” Even with an edge of sleep, Steve’s voice was stern.
“It’s nothing I want to talk about now,” Bucky amended. “Just let me have these last moments with you, okay? Can you give me that?”
The bed creaked as Steve sat up. “Bucky… What are you talking about? What’s going on?”
“You’re leaving me for her, aren’t you?”
“I- What?”
“Don’t lie to me. Don’t spare my feelings. I see the way you look at her. Know the way you look at her. Because it’s how I look at you. It’s how you used to look at me, too.”
“Bucky…”
“When, Steve? How much longer do I have with you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
“DON’T LIE TO ME!” Bucky’s voice yelled out like thunder. “God damn it… Don’t lie to me… You love her…”
“I love you, Bucky.”
“But you love her, too. You love what she’s able to give you. And I’m just the reminder of everything you used to be…”
“Bucky…” Steve’s voice started to break.
“Tell me I’m wrong,” Bucky pleaded, his cheeks damp with the tears that rolled down his face. “Tell me I’m wrong.”
“Bucky, please…”
“Tell me I’m wrong, Steve. Tell me you don’t love her. Tell me you’re not leaving me for her. You can’t, can you?”
“You told me not to lie to you… I love you Bucky. I really do.”
“Then don’t do this to me… Please… Don’t leave me for her…”
“I don’t know how to love you both…”
“Then stop loving her!”
“I can’t! I’ve been trying! That’s why I’m still with you! But I can’t. And I can’t stop loving you either.”
“Fuck you, Rogers,” Bucky let out a scoff of disgust, but it didn’t have the effect he wanted considering it was also half of a choked sob. “You stopped loving me the second you started loving her.”
“Buck-”
“Get out.”
“Buck!”
“I said get out, Captain.”
~~~
Bucky shoved his hands deep in his pockets, lengthening his strides as the rain started to fall. Lightning flashed and thunder boomed, and he would have broken out in a slow jog to avoid getting soaked, but his apartment was coming into sight. He’d make it. Barely. But he’d make it.
He would have walked straight past the man sitting on the steps outside, if the man’s words of “Huh. So those are where my dog tags went. Been looking for those,” didn’t freeze him in his tracks.
Bucky didn’t say anything as Steve rose to his feet, his blonde hair and the shoulders of his jacket drenched darkly with the rain.
“Wow… Sam was right… You do have a staring problem,” Steve tried to joke with a smile.
“Can I help you, Captain?” Bucky asked, not bothering to soften the bite of his tone.
Steve let out a long sigh. “Can we not do this? The attitude?”
Bucky looked skyward, the rain falling faster and heavier. He may not be able to get drunk, but he could still catch a wicked cold if he stayed out here much longer. And as much as he hated it, he still knew Steve well enough to know that the man was shivering based on the slight tremor in his jaw as he tried to stop his teeth from clacking together. “I suppose you want to come inside, then?”
“Sure beats the alternative of freezing to death. Wasn’t really a fan of that.”
Another bad attempt at a joke that Bucky didn’t take the bait for. Instead, he titled his head towards the building. “C’mon, then.”
Steve smiled, following after Bucky into the building and then Bucky’s apartment. “Thanks, Buck.”
“I wouldn’t thank me yet, Rogers. Don’t mistake my not wanting to get sick as any sort of warm welcome upon seeing you. So I’ll only ask you this once. What do you want?”
Guys Like You Chapter 8
Title: Guys Like You
Chapter: 8
Chapter Summary: It’s just 2.5K words of smut.
Rating: 18+
Warnings: Smut. That’s really all this chapter is.
{Prologue} {Chapter 1} {Chapter 2} {Chapter 3} {Chapter 4} {Chapter 5} {Chapter 6} {Chapter 7}
The tension between the two was almost tangible the next week and a half on set. One would catch the other staring and respond with a suggestive smile. They would stand just a little too close during breaks. Stolen glances and gentle touches ran rampant, both waiting for their next opportunity alone together.
Therein lies their greatest problem. Being alone together. You see, their lack of sealing the deal wasn't a matter of effort on both their parts. Henry had Faye come back a few days later, willing to forgo his early morning exercise if it meant spending the night doing 'cardio'. As it turned out, Briar was still terrified sleeping in a room by herself in the strange house. They had tried letting Kal stay with her, hoping to kill two birds with one stone and stop the canine's constant wines from the other side of the door. Using that technique, they made it just to Henry with his shirt off and his hand down the front of Faye's shorts before being interrupted again. This time both Kal and Briar were outside the door begging to be let in.
The look of desperate exasperation on his face was a memorable one. That night ended with Briar and Kal squeezed between them, but sleeping peacefully at least.
A few days after that had been their next attempt. Lesson learned, this one took place at Faye's home. Now Briar had her own room to stay in, so that should be one distraction eliminated. Kal had a full bowl of kibble and water set out in the kitchen and his bed was placed in the small living room between the couch and the coffee table. Unfortunately, Henry had just wrapped up a physically demanding day on set and ended up snoring on the couch with Briar sleeping on his chest by 7 pm. Faye had felt too bad for the poor guy to wake him up for more exertion, plus Briar would likely throw a fit if she were moved now. Instead, she threw a blanket over the pair and retreated to her room alone.
Tonight, though. Tonight was going to be the night. They had the location worked out for the fewest distractions, and it was even a short day for Henry. This was finally going to happen. The pair tried to be discreet throughout the day but ultimately found it hard to keep their hands to themselves. Well, Henry did anyway. It seemed he was sneaking handfuls of her bottom every chance he got. She would turn to grab something off the makeup table behind her and feel a hand on her backside while he casually pretended to just be trying to look around her to see what she was doing. He would slide behind often her and run his palm across her ass as he went, giving her a cheeky pinch as he went. Finally, when it was time for Faye to head home for the day, Henry wrapped her in a bear hug, one hand on her lower back, the other firmly gripping her backside as he lifted her up, whispering promises to get out of his costume quickly to meet up with her at her home.
Now, here they were, the door to the bedroom barely closed before Faye was pressing Henry back against it, her arms around his neck as she tugged him in for a longing kiss. His hands found her hips, pulling her closer, more than happy to return her affections. This was happening. This was really happening and Faye was wasting no time. She practically ripped Henry's shirt off in her haste, greedy little hands mapping over every inch of exposed skin she could reach while Henry worked on his belt.
Faye's shirt was next, her bra being hastily removed after. Henry shoved his jeans down his legs, kicking them from his feet and pulling Faye back in for another hungry kiss, large insatiable hands gripping her ass and lifting her up with ease, her legs automatically winding around his waist.
"Lock the door." Faye panted against his lips, her fingers sliding into his curls as she squeezed his waist tighter with her legs, trying to gain some friction against her heated core. Henry reached behind him, blindly grasping for the handle, finally finding it and turning the lock.
He carried her to the bed, gently laying her on the blankets, slowly moving back to take her in again. "I'm never going to get tired of seeing you like this." He breathed, his fingers ghosting down her sides and hooking in her leggings, dragging them and her underwear down her legs reverently, groaning softly when he saw his glistening prize.
"Condom." Faye instructed, crawling back to the pillows and rummaging through her side table drawer.
Henry chased her up the bed, attacking her side and hip with playful kisses and nips, pulling back when she handed him the foil-wrapped protection. "Fuck." Henry groaned, his face falling in distress when he looked at what was in his hand.
"What?" Faye asked, tilting her head questioningly.
"Do you... have anything else?" Henry asked, sitting back on his heels, turning hopeful eyes up to her.
"No... why, are you allergic?"
"No, it's not that. It's just... too small." Henry sighed, a faint flush coloring his cheekbones.
"Too small?" Faye asked skeptically, sitting herself up on her elbows. Typical excuse.
"I'll use it, it's not that big of a deal, I can get it on, but it's more likely to break," Henry explained, looking despondently at the packet in his hand. "Also... don't be offended if I don't finish. I swear, it's not that I don't find you insanely attractive, but these squeeze me really tightly and I can't feel much when I use them."
"Henry..." Faye started, giving him an unbelieving look.
"I am not trying to get out of using protection. I'm responsible, I promise! I got checked for everything at my last annual check-up and I'm clean. I'm just telling you what can happen."
"What exactly are you working with?" Faye asked, sitting up and hooking her fingers in the waistband of his underwear, Henry leaning back to allow better access as she quickly pulled them down, grunting softly when his erection thumped against his lower stomach. "Oh shit." Faye swore, her eyes going wide when she took him in. She'd had a feeling he was 'gifted' from the times she had felt him through his clothes, but she had no idea exactly how 'gifted' he was.
"Are you ok?" Henry questioned after a beat, shifting uncomfortably under her intense gaze.
"That's... fuck. Yeah, we're going to have to take this slow. That thing is huge. Jesus... is that your dick or a third leg?"
"I wasn't being a prick when I said it was too small." Henry chuckled nervously. "Are you on the pill?"
"No, I tried a few different ones when I was younger but I always had horrible side effects." Faye admitted, a curious hand sliding along his shaft pulling a deep content sigh from deep within his chest. She'd never been with an uncut man before.
"Fuck." Henry groaned, his hips twitching into her touch. "I could... shit, just like that." He gasped when her thumb gently slid back his foreskin, circling the hypersensitive spot just beneath the crown. "Fuck... " Henry trailed off, his eyes falling closed as he allowed himself to just feel.
"How good is your pull out game?" Faye questioned, her other hand gently cupping his balls, massaging them the best she could in her tiny palm.
"No misfires." Henry chuckled, hope sparking in his belly. "Not to kill the mood, but are you... like... fertile right now?" Henry asked, gesturing vaguely to her lower stomach.
"It's a crap shoot, honestly. Never been regular, I have no way of knowing."
"Fuck." Henry groaned.
"Not that I don't think you're a great guy, but I don't know if I'm willing to risk being a single mother of two." Faye mumbled softly, continuing to work him with her hand.
"I don't plan on going anywhere." Henry scoffed, pulling her closer to claim her lips. "But I won't do anything that makes you uncomfortable. How about you sit on my face and we take it from there?"
"I thought you were joking about that." Faye squeaked, her eyes going wide.
"No, I'd love to have that pretty pussy riding my jaw." Henry whispered against her lips, slowly trailing down to her neck with playful kisses. "Have you screaming my name from on top of me." A gentle nip at the junction of her neck, causing her to gasp. "Using that amazing ass to pull you even closer." He descended lower, teasing her nipple with his lips, his tongue darting out to flick against it. "What do you say, beautiful?"
"I... fuck... what about you?"
"Worry about that later." Henry dismissed, rolling onto his back next to her, his greedy hands dragging her thigh over him to straddle his chest. "Right now, I'm hungry."
"Shit." Faye gasped as his hands gripped her ass, dragging her up to hover over his mouth, being met almost instantly by his impatient mouth on her heated core. He licked slow, deliberate stripes through her glistening folds, catching every drop of arousal he could before he began his assault on her sensitive bundle of nerves. The gasps and moans falling freely from her mouth spurred him on. He pulled her even closer with his hands on her ass, wrapping his lips around her clit and sucking it desperately.
Faye was vaguely aware of one of his hands leaving her backside, but only became fully aware of what it was doing through her lust filled haze when she felt a long thick finger slowly pressing inside of her, curling at just the right moment to press against the most sensitive spot inside of her. "Fuck! Henry!" Faye groaned, torn between chasing his mouth or pushing back against his invading finger as he moved it in small teasing wiggles inside of her, just enough to drive her insane with need.
His eyes snapped up to her face when she called his name, a cocky smirk pulling at the corners of his mouth as he added a second finger, massaging her inner wall with more purpose. All it took was one firm lick to her clit and a deliberate curl of his fingers for her to come undone, gushing onto his hand and jaw as she panted his name desperately, holding onto the headboard for dear life as she rode out her orgasm.
Henry gently slipped his fingers out, watching her closely as she moved to sit beside him instead, pushing her sweaty strands from her face as she tried to catch her breath. He absently sucked on his still wet fingers as he watched her, waiting to see what her next move would be. Would she be too tired to continue? Would she go back to teasing his shaft until he lost his mind? Might she possibly return the favor?
His ponderings were drawn to an abrupt close when Faye had finally caught her breath. Before he realized what she was doing she was laying between his legs, her lips teasing the head of his cock as her hands rubbed along his inner thighs. Her tongue followed the thick vein on the underside from the base to the tip before taking him into her mouth. She started out slow and modest, his thick shaft already stretching her lips; her jaw had to open impossibly wide to prevent scraping him with her teeth.
Slowly, she sank deeper and deeper, her tongue flicking along the underside, her hands busying themselves with pumping his shaft and cupping his heavy sack. Her cheeks hollowed out as she pulled back, releasing him with a lewd pop. Her hands kept working him as she stared up at him, content to watch him squirm for the moment.
"I've never done this with an uncut guy before." Faye admitted innocently, her eyes falling to his cock as her hand easily slid up and down. "This is certainly easier to do, but you need to tell me what you like."
"You can just... push it back and do what you'd normally do." Henry explained through his panting, his hips jerking up desperately into her touch. It had been so long since he'd had anything other than his fist to get him off, and he could tell he wasn't going to last very long tonight.
"So, just push it back?" Faye repeated, her tiny, agile fingers slowly pushing his foreskin back, watching his face for any sign of discomfort. How far back? Just enough to get it out of the way? All she knew for sure is she didn't want to be rough and end up hurting him, especially in such a sensitive area.
"That's good. You're ok." Henry praised, his fingers sliding through her hair, urging her closer to his twitching cock.
Faye licked along the head, growing more confident at his increasing moans. He was certainly vocal. She took him back into her mouth, her tongue focusing on the tip as her hand worked his shaft again. His hips continued twitching up into her mouth, occasionally pushing too far and causing her to gag. She took him as deep as she could, tears falling from her eyes as she fought her gag reflex. She slowly pulled back, sucking hard as she went, her hand pumping him faster, her head bobbing along with the rhythm.
"Shit." Henry hissed, his head falling back against the pillows, his hands gripping her hair tighter. "Fuck, Faye. I'm close." He warned, his hips twisting beneath her as he fought the urge to thrust up into her warm mouth. "I don't... I don't care where but if you don't want it in your mouth, you need to move." He gasped, the pressure building at the base of his spine until it grew too much to handle. He let go with a loud roar that sounded vaguely like her name, pumping himself up into her mouth with each wave of his orgasm until he was left a blissed-out, sated mess beneath her.
"Sorry... Didn't know if you swallowed." Henry apologized, his hands falling from her hair to cup her jaw.
"Not a problem if I know it's coming." Faye assured, crawling back up the bed to curl into his side.
"Tomorrow, I am going to the nearest pharmacy and buying out their entire stock of condoms." Henry determined, kissing the top of her head.
"Just the XL ones, or are you going to take everything they have?" Faye teased.
"I'm taking everything. If the universe keeps getting between us having sex, no one else should be able to do it either." Henry pouted.
"Pass them out to all your buddies. Be like their Fairy Rubber Mother. Make sure they know they don't fit your massive cock when you do it too." Faye giggled, kissing his chest gently.
"Damn right. If I have to carry this monster around all day, everyone should have to know about it." Henry chuckled around a yawn.
"Get some sleep, Bear. We have to be in early tomorrow."
On The Court
I’m in my teams locker room getting ready for the first game of our tournament.  We made it all the way to the national women's college volleyball tournament.  This is my senior year so this is my last chance to get a title.  I put my long brown hair into a ponytail before putting on my white head band that wraps around my head.  I pull my black jersey over my black sports bra supporting my B cup breasts.  I slide my knee pads up my toned legs and secure them in place.  Finally I put on my white sneakers and look at myself in the mirror.  I never imagined when I was younger that at 22 years old I would be at this level.  I’m only five foot two but I have trained hard for this day.  My team huddles up and gets pumped up for the game.  This is what we have trained for and we wont let anything get in the way.  The gymnasium was packed, all our friends and family were there to watch us play.  The first whistle blew as the other team set the ball.  The first few minutes went great for us.  We were winning and it looked like an easy win.  A few moments later I start to feel lightheaded and start to lose vision.  I back up slightly to approach the bench but I never make it.  Before I realize what is happening my legs give out and I fall onto the court.  I can’t move and I can’t see anything.  I hear faint voices getting close to me.  Did I pass out? Why can I still hear them?  “Someone get the nurse!” I hear my couch shout.  “Call 911!” another voice says.  What’s going on? I feel someone's hands between my breasts. Who is touching me there?  Then there's a sharp pain.  They are pushing down hard and fast on my chest.  No this cant be happening, someone is giving me CPR,  I can count the compressions as my chest caves in.  After thirty compressions someone tilts my head back, opens my mouth, pinches my nose, and gives me mouth to mouth.  I feel my lungs inflate each time air is forced into them.  They give me two breaths before the compressions start again.  Before I know it someone I feel someone cutting my jersey off.  The place these large sticker like pads on my chest.  One between my breasts and one on my lower left side.  Suddenly I don’t feel anyone’s hands,   “Analyzing do not touch patient” I hear in a mechanical voice.  I remember learning about these in health class its an AED.  “Shock advised do not touch patient.” It says again.  Oh crap I know what comes next, this is gonna hurt.  “Pressing flashing shock button now” I feel a sharp pain course throughout my body as the shock is delivered.  I feel someone’s fingers pressing into the side of my neck.  “She has a pulse!” they exclaim.  Thank god, my heart is beating again.  It is hard to breath but I manage to get some air.  Why am I not waking up? Shouldn't I be awake now?
I feel a tube run across my face and little ones placed into my nose.  The paramedics have arrived!  They give me much needed oxygen.  They roll me onto my side and place a long hard object against my back.  They roll me back over and place straps over my body.  They shove two large blocks against my head.  I feel constrained as if I couldn't move even if I wanted to.  They lift me up and place my on a gurney before rolling me outside into the ambulance.  I feel cold metal run across my body as the paramedic removes all of my clothes.  They strip me naked for the whole world to see.  Stickers are placed on my chest and wires are connected to them.  I hear a beep and then another, they have me heart rate monitored and I can hear each time it pumps.  There is a quick prick in my left arm and then a warm sensation as they start an IV.  Everything is going well and I think that I am finally back but, I still can’t seem to wake up.  I want to wake up I just need to open my eyes.  Suddenly I feel a pain in my chest like the one from before.  They beeps in the distant become faster and faster.  Why is my heart beating so fast? I can’t hear the beeping anymore... a sharp continuous tone feels the air.  “She’s coding hurry up!”  Coding? Did my heart stop again?  I get my answer before I can think.  The paramedic places there gloved hands between my breasts and gives me CPR.  This time it hurts more than the first time as they push down with all of their force over and over again.  I feel a rib pop from the force of the compressions.  A mask reeking of plastic is sealed over my mouth and nose as air is forced into my lungs.  They rip the AED pads off of my chest.  “Charging to 300″ I hear the paramedic call out.  There is an electrical whining as the defibrillator is charged.  I feel two cold metal paddles placed against my chest but they also have a cold gel on them.  “Shocking” before I can prepare myself the shock courses through my body.  I feel my chest try and rise up but I am constrained by the straps of the backboard.  “No change charging again” Why didn’t the shock work this time?  The paramedic uses one hand to compress my chest.  I feel my ribs cave in each time.  In a moment the paddles are back on my bare chest and I am shocked again.  “Asystole” I hear them call out.  My heart still isn’t beating.  Is this it, is this where I die?  There hands are back on my chest as the continue CPR for what seems like an eternity.  They leave my chest for just a few seconds as they push a new fluid through my IV.  This one burns as I feel it course through my body.  As the compressions continue my heart begins to quiver again.  “V-fib charging to 360″  The whining of the machine fills the air again.  The paddles are back on my chest and I am shocked again.  The higher voltage causes a greater pain as I try to make my heart beat again.  “No change”  The fear is increasing as I wonder if they will be able to save me.  The ambulance stops and they roll me out.  The paramedic straddles my body and I feel their pelvis pressing against mine.  They continue CPR on me as they roll me into the hospital.  Now even more people will see my nude body.
I am rolled into a room as one of the paramedics tells the doctors what is going on.  “22 year old female, suffered a cardiac arrest at a volleyball game.  Was brought back to normal sinus by the AED.  Crashed in the ambulance five minutes ago.  Has been given one round of epi and shocked three times.  Currently in V-fib.  Continuous CPR the entire time.”  The paramedic gets off of me as they lift me over to a new bed.  The straps are removed and the wires are plugged into a new monitor.  A nurse takes over compressions while someone else opens my mouth a puts a metal hook into it.  I feel them force a long tube all the way down my throat.  There is some kind of strap wrapped around my neck as they secure the tube.  “Charge the paddles to 360 please.”  I feel multiple sets of hands on my body as they each fight to save me life.  In a moment the paddles are back on my chest and I am shocked.  This time my head snaps back and I feel my chest rise into the air before crashing back down onto the bed.  “No change charge again”  CPR is continued as my heart takes a beating.  Before I know it the paddles are on my chest and everyone backs away.  “All clear, shocking”  My arms flail off the bed as my chest rises and falls again.  “Asystole, push epi and resume compressions”  I remember that word, asystole, that means my heart isn't moving at all.  The burning sensation returns as the medicine is forced into my body.  I feel someone pull my eyelids open but I can’t see anything.  They shine a bright light into my eyes and then pull it away.  “Pupils are sluggish” I feel my arms bounce up and down with each compression that I am given.  Each second feels like an eternity as they fight for my life.  “V-fib charge paddles to 360″  I hear the whining of the machine and a squirting noise as they place more of that gel onto the paddles.  CPR is stopped and the paddles are placed on my chest again.  “Everyone clear, shock”  I hear the doctor say as I am defibrillated again.  My feet twitch and I feel my toes scrunch up before relaxing again.  “Again”  For just a few second hands are between my breasts and pounding away before the paddles are on my chest again.  “All clear, shocking”  Bam I am shocked again as I feel my hands form loose fists and my chest rise and fall.  “Back in asystole, what's her down time?”  I hear the doctor ask.  “Twelve minutes doctor” a distant voice responds.  “Prepare a thoracotomy tray please”  What the hell is that?  CPR is continued and a fluid is splashed all across my left chest.  I feel a blade cut away at my side below my breast.  Blood pours out and I hear in trickle on the floor.  They suction away some of my blood.  They place metal bars in my chest and spread my ribs apart.  I feel the doctors hands wrapped around my hear as he squeezes it rhythmically.  They push more medicine into me and two minutes later I am back into a shockable rhythm.  I feel two spoon shaped metal paddles placed into my chest and around my heart.  “Charge to 20 joules”  They back away from my nude body and the paddles deliver a shock.  My body twitches but the pain is greater than the previous ones.  “Charge to 30 joules”  Again the paddles shock me as my toes scrunch and my body twitches. “No change charge again”  I hear the doctor whisper something “Come on girl” he wants me to come back.  I feel the shock course through my heart as my body jolts.  There is a moment of silence.  A sharp tone feels the air as the doctor slowly removes the paddles from inside my chest.  “Downtime?” he asks.  “Eighteen minutes.” a voice responds.  No one is squeezing my heart, there are no paddles in my chest.  All there is a a ventilation every few seconds filling my lungs.  They shine the light in my eyes again.  “Pupils fixed and dilated.” What's going on?  “Time of death 14:47″  What? No please keep going I’m not ready to die.  I feel them disconnect the bag from the tube in my throat and the tone is silenced.  They wipe the gel off my chest and disconnect the wires.  They wrap a sting with a small card on it around my big toe.  They drape a sheet over my naked body and leave the room.  That’s it... I’m dead.
Memories Lost
Part 1 - Part 2
Pairing: Hope Mikaelson x Reader
Tumblr media
Before Malivore
I.
“Y/n L/n, please do not tell me that you forgot to add eggs to the cake mix.”
Your eyes widen like a child who is about to be in some serious trouble by their parents. Now that you thought about it, something did feel off about the batter you’ve been struggling to stir for the past five minutes.
You look up from your batter bowl to see Hope staring at you with daggers in her eyes.
Yep, you were screwed.
After gently placing your wisk on the kitchen table, you give the tribrid the best innocent smile you could, “Okay. I won’t tell you that, but I will tell you that we’re going to have to start over since there may or may not be a key ingredient missing from the mix.”
As much as you wanted the smile to dilute the situation, Hope still pinches the bridge of her nose and runs her fingers through her hair, obviously more stressed out than ever.
Today is Commonwealth Day and some of Hope’s family members from New Orleans are supposed to be coming into town, one of which includes her mother. If anything you felt that you should’ve been the one who was stressed out.
“How do you forget to add eggs to a cake mix, Y/n?” Hope asks, flailing the full carton of eggs around. She looked like she was on the verge of erupting like Pompeii.
You decide to approach with caution, “Okay, okay,” you slowly reach for the carton and carefully take it from her hand, “Let’s not break the only eggs left in the fridge, yeah? We do need those. Let’s also take a steady breather for a second.”
The two of you inhale one large breath of air together and then slowly breathe out.
“There we go, Hope,” she’s still looking at you with a small amount of fire in her eyes, “Hey, I apologize for my idiocy. I honestly don’t know what you expected when you left me alone to make this, but it’s a minor setback.”
“That was the only box of cake mix we bought, Y/n.” Hope states.
You fall silent for a moment to let that information sink in, “Okay, slightly more than minor setback,” Hope lets out a frustrated groan and moves past you, “We don’t have to make a cake, Hope. I saw a box of brownie mix in the pantry.”
“Yeah, that says ‘Lizzie Saltzman’s Brownie Mix: DO NOT TOUCH’ in big black letters. In case you don’t recall, I’m not exactly in her good graces at the moment.”
“Eh, name me one person who is in her good graces,” you shrug as if it’s no big deal and take the box out anyways, giving it a good shake, “Doesn’t feel like she put any jinxes on it. My arm has yet to fall off so therefore I think we should be safe.”
Hope gives you a look telling you that she’s still unsure of this.
“Come on, I of all people know how much crap she makes you go through on the daily basis. What’s a box of brownie mix compared to torment?” You pause and think, ‘that’s probably a little much’, “Maybe not literal torment, but you get the picture. I’ll even take the blame if she starts asking questions.”
“Are you kidding? She’d probably kill you if she found out.”
“That’s what I have you for,” you say matter-of-factly, taking a few steps closer to the tribrid until you were face to face, “What, you thought that I was your friend because I like you?” You ask in a playful tone, making Hope roll her eyes at you even though she was clearly amused, “Keep dreaming, Mikael-” her eyes widen and she covers your mouth with her hand before it’s too late.
You are the only student in the whole school who knows that Hope’s father is Klaus Mikaelson. It took many months of trust-building after your friendship began, but one night at the pier, Hope mustered up enough courage to tell you about her family history.
She half-expected you to go running for the hills and leave her in the dust. Instead, you blew her expectations out of the water by having the calmest reaction she had ever seen. You thanked her for trusting you so much that she felt that she could tell you something not everyone knew at the time.
She made you promise not to tell anyone to which you agreed to with a pinky promise. This moment has been the only time you nearly slipped up. Thankfully no one else was in the kitchen, but who knows who could be walking by.
You raise an eyebrow at Hope, glancing down at her hand that was still covering your mouth.
Hope quickly retracts her hand back, “Sorry. It was just, you know-”
“No, that was my bad. Good save though... Marshall.” You say, followed by a cheeky wink.
A tint of red flushes Hope’s cheeks as she gives you a thankful smile, causing your cheeks to warm up as well.
You clear your throat and break eye contact with the tribrid, “Shall we get started?” You ask, raising the brownie mix up to your face, “Ass beating from Lizzie or not, I still wanna make a good first impression on your family, especially your mom. God knows you’ve probably dragged my name through the dirt every chance you had.”
Hope playfully rolls her eyes, giving you a small shove before giving in and pulling out a clean mixing bowl. “Fine, let’s just get this over with before we get busted.”
“Atta girl!” You grin widely before ripping the box open.
There was no going back now. If you two were going down, at least you were going down together and you were getting a sweet treat out of it, too.
II.
It was a beautiful day to be out at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted. The weather was your idea of perfect; sunny, breezy, and clear.
Students were reading outside on the grass, the younger kids were playing tag, others playing Wickery, and you were getting your ass beaten by the world’s strongest tribrid.
This was your guys’ third round of sparring for the day and you had yet to win a single one. Just when you thought you had her arm locked behind her back, she whispers the incantation, “Dimiterre.”
Everything went by so fast that you didn’t have any time to think about landing on your feet. Instead, your back slammed against the small wooden pier after being flipped over the tribrid’s shoulder. It wasn’t fair that she could just chant any spell she wanted to throw you off guard.
“Is that really all you got today, Y/n? This is just embarrassing.” She shakes her head at you like a disappointed coach.
“I’ll make you eat those words, Mikaelson,” you grunt, feeling a new surge of energy course through your body as you jump back up to your feet, “We’re just getting started.” You smirk, wiping a drop of sweat off your forehead.
Hope grins back at you, readying her position for another round of sparring. The both of you share the same look of determination, neither one backing out as you throw the first jab.
Several more rounds pass. All of which ended with your ass hitting the pier as if it were some kind of magnet.
“You’re making this too easy.” Hope says triumphantly with a cocky smile.
You huff out an exhausted breath of air, “I’m obviously letting you win, Mikaelson,” you use your arms to help you jump back to your feet, “I could easily take you down if I wanted to.”
“Oh yeah?” Hope wonders, taking a step forward. She was a little less out of breath than you, but you could tell that she was playing it off just as much as you were.
“Oh yeah. Why don’t we do one final round? This time I won’t hold back.” You challenge her.
“You seem pretty worn out for someone who was holding back.” She states and you pretend not to be hurt by her jab at your lack of combat skills.
“Maybe that’s just to fool you into thinking you can beat me again,” you shrug as you watch her readjust her gloves, “Oh, and you can’t use your magic. Too much of an advantage.”
Hope’s mouth falls open and she shakes her head, “Then I’d be at a disadvantage. You’re like a whole foot taller than me.”
“Come on, if it’s so easy you should have no problem pinning me down within two seconds of the round.”
Hope silently thinks it over in her head, then quickly comes to a decision, “Fine. Loser buys milkshakes at the Grill.”
You grin, “Deal. Prepare to pay up, Mikaelson.”
After waiting for one of you to make the first move, Hope decides to sweep kick your legs at an unfathomable speed and knocks your back to the ground.
She straddled your hips and placed her hands on both sides of your head, “Ha! Looks like someone’s- wha-”
As quickly as she knocked you to the pier just now, you pulled her neck down to where her face is inches closer to yours, trapped her arm by wrapping yours around it, lifted your leg to trap hers and then rolled your body over to where you were now on top.
Breathless and cheeks redder than before, Hope stared up at you in shock. If you were completely honest, you had no idea that move was going to work, but you were so glad that it did. For one, now you get a free milkshake and two, you’ve never had Hope Mikaelson’s face this close to yours before.
Her legs were practically wrapped around your waist and your hands were holding her arms down above her head, making her face dangerously close to yours. It would only take one of you leaning forward for something to happen.
Instead, you kept your cool, “Looks like I win.” you smile, also breathless, “I like cookies and cream, by the way.”
III.
“So you do this… for fun?” You ask, sitting as still as possible on a wooden stool in Hope’s bedroom.
It was a stormy weekend in Mystic Falls, so most of the outdoor activities were closed off until the rain cleared up, which didn’t seem to be happening anytime soon according to the weather broadcasts. You weren’t a huge fan of being alone during thunderstorms--you’d never let anyone know that--so you found yourself hanging out with Hope.
Well, you were mainly watching Hope. She came up with the idea of painting a portrait of you sitting by her window to pass the time. Being that you’ve never had a portrait painted of you before, you thought this would be kind of fun. You didn’t expect it to be such a long and quiet process, but you definitely preferred this over being scared out of your mind listening to the thunder by yourself.
Hope hums a yes to your question as she concentrates on her strokes, “Can you look back out the window?”
You sigh, turning your head to look outside for about thirty seconds before nearly falling off the stool because of the lightning bolt that crashed a couple miles away from the school. As pretty as it looked, being struck by lightning was still one of your irrational fears.
“Are you sure it’s safe for me to be looking outside?” You turn back to look at Hope.
“Y/n, I promise nothing is going to happen to you. Now sit still,” she says in a not-so-reassuring voice.
You let out an annoyed huff, but you do you’re told and turn to face the rain covered window glass.
“How long does it usually take you to do these things? Asking out of curiosity. Totally not because I’m losing feeling in my glutes.” You wonder, shifting in your stool.
“I’m usually quicker when my subject isn’t interrupting every five seconds and moving around like they have worms in their said glutes.”
You face her again with an over exaggerated look of shock on your face, “Is that some sort of degrading werewolf joke? That is extremely offensive.”
She leans away from her canvas to look at you, her eyes squinted, “I’m part werewolf, too, idiot.”
“You’re a tribrid. That’s different. One third of a werewolf doesn’t count, therefore your little worm joke hurts me more.” You stick your tongue out at her.
“Why am I friends with you again?” She’s trying her best to hide it, but you can tell that she’s resisting a smile.
“Because as sad as it is, no one else can make you smile like I do, Mikaelson.” It took a few seconds until she couldn’t help but reveal a very faint yet noticeable grin. She leaned back behind her canvas to conceal it, but there was no use since you already caught sight of it.
“Just shut up and look out the window before I cast a freeze spell on you.”
You wanted to make another snarky remark, but you knew your friend well enough to know that she was serious about casting that spell. To avoid being frozen in an uncomfortable position for God knows how long, you closed your mouth and relaxed your body before looking back out the window.
IV.
“What do you mean you can’t dance? I’ve seen you do it all the time.” Hope asks, watching you from her bed as you pace back and forth in her dorm room.
“That’s me flailing my body around like a fool hoping it looks good! I don’t know what I’m actually doing!”
Josie asked you--as a friend--to be her escort for her and Lizzie’s 15th birthday party. You’d only be dancing with her one time, but the problem was that it was supposed to be a waltz and you had absolutely no idea how to do that.
“It’s embarrassing enough that she asked me to be her escort, I don’t wanna embarrass her even more for not knowing how to do a stupid waltz!” Hope rolls her eyes before having enough of your unnecessary freakout.
She gets up from her bed to stop you from pacing, “Y/n. Just relax, okay? You freaking out is freaking me out,” she says, holding onto your shoulders, “I can teach you how to waltz.”
Your body relaxes and a small wave of relief hits you, “Seriously?”
“What? You think I can’t dance either?” Hope playfully asks, placing her hands on her hips as she tilts her head at you.
“I’ve never seen you do it before,” you argue, getting a small smack to the arm, “Ow! Okay, I’m obviously kidding… sort of,” she smacks you again, making you laugh this time, “Okay, okay. Forreal now, I could really use your help.”
Hope sighs, pretending to have second thoughts because of your teases. You don’t worry too much though because you know she wouldn’t leave you to crash and burn like that... at least you really hope so.
“Give me your hand.” She gives in, fitting one of her hands in yours. You grin as your other hand finds her waist and hers rests on your shoulder, “Make sure you’re relaxed, you wouldn’t want to look stiff as a board while you’re dancing.”
You nod your head, taking in a deep breath as you let your muscles relax.
“Also, always have your eyes on your partner. You’re more likely to be tripping on their feet if you keep looking down.”
“That shouldn’t be too hard.” You say without meaning for it to leave your head. Hope bows her head for a second to hide the redness appearing on her cheeks.
After composing herself, Hope looks back up at you, “First, step forward with your left,” you follow her movements smoothly, “Step sideways to the right,” your right foot steps out, “Close your feet together, then step back with your right,” you glance down at your feet for a second which was your first mistake.
You slightly stumbled, but caught yourself when you put your feet back together.
Hope chuckles, “What did I tell you?”
“Hey, now cut me a little slack. I was doing pretty good for a second there,” you defend yourself before repositioning your feet, “What’s next?”
“Step to the left, bring your feet together, then repeat it all over again but a little faster. You’re going to want to count one-two-three in your head to stay in rhythm,” you raise an inquisitive eyebrow, making her smile, “Okay, I’ll count out loud and you repeat the moves we just finished learning. Does that sound good?”
You nod quickly, then she takes her step back and you follow, remembering what she taught you. Forward, right, together. Back, left, together. Forward, right, together. Back, left, together. The longer you two went on, the quicker you picked up on the moves and the more comfortable you felt.
Eventually, you felt that you didn’t need to keep dancing with Hope, but it was hard not to keep going when you have the most beautiful girl in your arms right now.
“Stop looking so smug.” Hope says, noticing the smile that appeared on your face. Even though she stopped counting, the two of you continued to flow around her room gracefully.
“I’m waltzing with the big and bad tribrid. How can I not be smug?”
It’s Hope’s turn to smile, but she gives you a playful eyeroll to counter the fact that she was enjoying this, “If you tell anyone I did this for you, you’re dead.”
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t dare let anyone know you’re an actual decent person, Hope Mikaelson. It’ll be our little secret.” You wink at her, making her cheeks even redder. She moves her mouth to one side of her face to keep herself from smiling any wider.
It made your heart flutter, seeing how comfortable she was around you. You got to see the vulnerable side of her that she rarely ever showed to anyone else at the school. It’s the small moments like this that you knew you'd keep in your heart forever.
~
