Sleepless nights

Pairing: Jang Daehyeon x reader;

Summary: even distance can't break what you two have;

Warnings: y/n is a she, teeth rotting sweetness.

You can't lie, being this long without hugging or kissing your boyfriend was starting to drive you a little bit crazy. You're both very good at long distance when the time comes but it doesn't mean it's easy.

Fortunately he always made some time to talk to you whether that be early morning or late night. You honestly don't care if he calls you and wakes you up you're more than glad to pick up, his voice making your heart beat a little bit faster, his sweet words causing a slight pink tint to crawl up your cheeks.

He loves to see you like that, messy hair, glassy eyes, slightly bloated face. His heart aches a little every time you pick up the call and he can't just kiss you all over your beautiful face. He just wished you could come with him to every single concert because falling asleep without you keeps getting worse each night, he doesn't know if he's starting to develop insomnias or his heart just refuses to work without his other half.

Another day passes and your busy life finally stops for a while giving you some free time to check up on Daehyeon.

❛ I'll be honest with you. Luca I totally fell asleep. I know you guys didn't ask me mine but I am partial to Inside Out or Zootopia. ❜ He teased softly as he felt the boy play with his bracelets and try to get one into his mouth.

Wally effortlessly got his mouth away from the bracelets and let him play with his hands. ❛Something tells me you have a second favorite movie and Luca is not it. Am I right?❜ He asked softly as Orion had asked for water. ❛ I haven't forgotten the farmer market story. ❜

The thought of her godson following her anywhere filled in with a conflicting emotion. Half happy that he would care but another half not wanting him to ever be anywhere she always seemed to find herself. ❝ Not really, ❞ she said eyes wandering around the room taking it all in now that she was settled in for a while. With a small chuckle, she added.  ❝ Never really stayed in one place for too long. I always get restless after a bit. Don’t know if it's nature or nurture at this point. You ever wanted to live somewhere else?❞ The deflection was noticeable but she didn’t care, that was a bit of a sore spot for her. 

 ❝ Well, wallaby, you be.❞ She smiled at him, his laugh making her happy. Something about it being contagious, made it so that she had no other choice but to smile. ❝ Wow, I am honored but can’t help but feel like you tell everyone who gives you a nickname the same thing. ❞  Wally always seemed like a big flirt to her with the way he teased her, she could only imagine how he was with someone he was interested in. 

At mentions of what princesses Anna thought of when she met her made her eyes go a bit wide. Snow White? That was a compliment. Mulan? The biggest compliment in the world. Belle, though. Belle. It made her ponder for a moment. Belle was soft, beautiful, and smart, words that never had been used to describe her, herself. But she did love to read, so maybe Anna was clued into that. She would take it as a compliment.  ❝ Mulan is the perfect princess for her. She’s very badass, she’s going to be one too one day I can see it. Coming from this family, there’s no way she won’t be. ❞ 

Wally voicing that he understood how it felt to lose someone they cared about made her curious. She wanted to know more about that but knew now was not the time or place.   ❝ Me too, ❞ it was softer, as she felt the happiness she felt when he ran off with his kids sink back in. The memories of her being so alone growing up and just wanting to be like the other kids at the park who knew each other and their mothers set up play dates, crept in, and she was glad Orion wasn’t going to be like her. ❝ I know I said it already, but I don’t think I can thank you enough for inviting us over. I thought it’d have to resort to talking to single parents at the park or center or beach to try to get him some friends. ❞

A small twinkle showed in the corner of her amber eyes as she nodded. ❝ Oh, yes, please. ❞ She was never one to turn down a good story. ❝ Noted, farmers market, take Oreo. Continue. ❞

The small voice had her worried that someone might have gotten lost, but she realized as he headed out that it was calling for him. Wa-Wa. ❝ Don’t be, ❞ she said waving him away with her free hand.❝ I get it, at least he has you to help him through it. ��  Smiling at the child as it turned to look at her, her brows quickly knotted in confusion. He was speaking in a language she didn’t know. She could tell it was Greek and she picked up on one word alone that always sounded similar in any language prinkipissa and smiled when Wally confirmed she was right. That seemed to be a theme today, to the boy she replied ❝ Thank you, you look like a dashing prince in training.❞

She couldn’t help but a bit envious that they were speaking a language that she didn’t know. Locked out of a conversation was not a familiar feeling of hers, she usually was able to still understand it when she was locked out. The way that Wally kept looking over at her also seemed suspicious. ❝ Hmmm,❞ she sighed as she thought it over. She couldn’t use her real favorite movie, which would not be child-appropriate, she had to think about all the movies she had seen with Orion since he entered her life. ❝ Oh, Luca! That cute little sea monster in Italy. What about you, what's yours ? ❞  

Orion began to turn and shift again in her arms, this time half awake. ❝ Ellie. I'm thirsty. ❞  He said into her neck. ❝ Oh, well, you're going to have to sit up a bit Oreo, I have some right here. ❞  Waiting for him to sit in her lap, she helped him take a drink from her glass as he kept his eyes closed the entire time.
