drinking straight up concoctions
#i had to take this pic with the flash on which makes this look a bit ominous#but without the flash on my camera read the drink as purple but its like a blueish dark gray#i sometimes like to add a few leaves of butterfly pea flower tea to a blend to get a fun color#bc i never drink the butterfly pea flower tea by itself bc its pretty bland. kind of tastes like spinach soup#but in a very washed away way. imagine a cup of water that was in the same room as some cooked spinach#i need to get a small tea pot bc those Things. i cant remember what theyre called. but like you know the metal things you put loose tea#leaves into and then put it in a mug? they keep spilling so much leaves#and like yeah im ready to drink bits of leaves if i drink tea but the amount with those little things is just ridicilous#and my tea pot is v big. i dont drink that much tea in one sitting#leevi talks

Fiber arts update: we have achieved ~hat~
Bonus: WIP, and Hat, as modeled by my trusty assistant Yorick
all of this is handspun; the grey is "Polarfuch"/fine icelandic wool, the colors are superfine merino.
I honestly don't particularly enjoy crochet, but it feels good to have made a piece of clothing, however small, from scratch. Might try to add fingerless gloves, but I don't think I have enough yarn left.
/EDIT: slightly more info - the yarn's all spun worsted and as a 3-ply; the Icelandic was plied from singles, the Merino was chain-plied because I only had 10 grams per color. It's stuff meant for wet-felting, very fine and quite expensive, but it was still cheaper than paying for shipping, and the colors are really nice too. The "Polarfuchs" on the other hand is quite cheap, and something I intend to work with a lot more because it's just such a nice, rustic option. Spinning took me a couple of days, plus two or three more for crocheting. The hat is worked as a rectangle in back-loop only single crochets and sewn/cinched at the top. Could've turned out a bit longer tbh, but that's the risk of following standard patterns I guess.
#hand spinning#handspun yarn#crochet#guardy's fiber arts tag#The WIP is draped over a flower pot because I use those for plying#and as a yarn bowl#because cheap#and Yorick helps me not fuck up lighting in portraits#and yes; weaving in the color change ends sucked big time

i just. love houseplants
#the two front ones and the one in the pink pot are new today#the one in the purple pot is more than ready to move into my big pot but i need some spoons available to do that#the one standing in a jar lid will move into the purple pot#my peace lily is not pictured because she is in the living room#tbh i also think she needs repotting and possibly splitting#she's been all leaves since the great burned alive incident of 2017#i try to baby her but i am not good at plant care#mainly a spoons issue#this is why all my subsequent plants are succulents#the purple one is my first succulent baby and i got her on impulse but she's done well#she flowers periodically#the cactus is from my parents and she now pokes above the pot which she didn't before#so i think i do okay with extremely low care needs plants#i need a mister

SURE when i water my plant regularly and take care of her she is at rock bottom. call that bitch a sickly victorian child the way she brightens up the room for a day then shrivels up and dies. but the MOMENT i give up on her and leave her to perish OH, SUDDENLY she's an entrepreneur, she's starting her own company, she just birthed five new children and ended world hunger. whore.
#like ive had her since 2018 i think#and she was doing very well for a long time#not to mention shes to only plant of the literal 20+ we bought back then that survived that long#dont ask why we bought 20 plants#thats for me and my father to know and my mother to not understand#(most of them if not all were bought for bug-eating purposes#and my father had a go big or go home attitude so we spent like 2 hrs picking and packing plants#then decided to buy a fish tank while we were at it)#but the MOMENT we got new flower pots#she became a problem#and istg i have no idea what im doing wrong at this point#i dont water her? she dies#i water her a lot? boom. dead#i water her every now and then? exploded#the MOMENT i switch into fucking die for all i care mode she THRIVES#i take it very personally#if she dies after i water her again i will drink all the flower water myself and spit it out on her grave#personal

The 30+ turn in your lifestyle is so real, like you don't change what you like per se, but the novelty of some things wears of and you become more aware of which materials last and you become so boring but you like it.
I still have trinkets but the mass produced ones are replaced by handmade ones from the art market. I catch myself saying things like "I'm not gonna bother with replacing my throw pillows if I can't find cotton ones." I bought second hand funky button ups but they're viscose. Next up I'm eyeing a jute carpet because it will be so much easier to vacuum cat hair off (and oh my, they're as affordable as synthetic ones, can you believe it!)
My partner made fun of my butter dish ("it already comes in a wrapper") last year and then they turned 30 and now they're asking me for advice in buying a big house plant that would work as a 'statement piece' and got excited I found a toilet scrubber that was affordable and matched his sink.
#still riding that high of buying that wooden flower pot last week but you all liked it as well so watch out#Big Sensible 30 is coming for you

Started setting up the new seed tray. Partner really wants homegrown tomatoes this year and since this year shouldn't have drought restrictions, it'll be easier to grow them. Rather than buy them, I'm going to try to start some old seeds I have since I have a lot of interesting and fun varieties; and if they don't grow I'll buy some from the nursery.
#adventures in gardening#tomorrow i would really like to go get potting soil and trellises so I can finish getting the garden set up#I'll probably try to dig up more grass this week and finish moving the big pots in the yard#so that i can set up the raised beds and fill them#have to get the new bulbs planted this week if i want flowers for spring#and need to get the rest of the wildflower seeds down

two vessel ocs we actually conceptualized a while ago and just never posted about
#hollow knight#hollow knight oc#stuff i made tag#oc: flower pot#oc: treasure chest#our naming scheme for vessels is. actual vessels. things that contain other things#little bit of trivia: flower pot made it to queen's gardens by going through deepnest#and it met caprice along the way#she only eats freshly caught prey and flower pot smells like it's already dead so she let it go#treasure chest climbed up through basin and into palace grounds#it got its face broken by a husk sentry and would have died if it wasn't quickly found by said pirate crew#their leader is the earwig pirate we mentioned like once. still haven't named him whoops#they're both dubious little creatures up to no good. flower pot is just more refined in appearance#and true to its name treasure chest is a big fan of putting geo in its eye hole#holds them both gently like hamburgers

#i've never been any good at thrifting clothes cos i just don't have the required patience and attention span#i DO however love thrifting kitchen items and decor items and especially pots for my plants#cos i have a fair few plants right? i think i have somewhere between 95 and 115 in the living room/kitchen aka the main room#granted 1/3 of them are propagations that are hanging out in water as i haven't gotten around to put them in soil yet#and some of them aren't ready for a soil home quite yet anyway#anywayyyy the point is that buying pots for all of those straight from the store would become sooo expensive in the long run#ceramic pots are pricey y'all. especially the bigger ones#at the thrift shop on the other hand....i got four lovely small/medium sized pots for a grand total of $14 yesterday#(actually no. one of them was a tea pot. but it was a pretty yellow colour and i figured ykw i'll use that as a flower pot np)#which was lovely cos the og price tags were still on two of them and one originally cost $30 and the other $45#i like saving money and i adore my mismatched collection of flower potsđ„°#i'm gonna head to a different thrift shop now#cos i want a couple of big vases for my big boi propagations but couldn't find any good ones at the one i went to yesterday#i also wanna see if maybe they have a pretty green flower pot? like forest green or moss green or smth like that#this has been random ramblings with annaâïž

wind was fucking up my flowers massively so I cut them and brought them inside however theyâre the infamous flower my idiot cat tried eating a couple days ago which ISNT ALLOWED!!! so although I have hayfever and whatnot, Iâm keeping the flowers bc the only rooms in which cats arenât allowed into without direct supervision is my room (very breakable things, very messy, I donât trust them) and the toilet (Mochi will unwind the entire toilet paper roll and itâs annoying as shit) so! after having moved the carnation Out of my room and into the toilet earlier this week, that left only one option for my poor anemone poppies (windflowers) and one hyacinth lol
#yep yep#the wind fucking up all my flowers wouldâve made me incredibly fucking upset#so cutting them and bringing them inside was better for me#my mood wouldâve been so off otherwise#bc although they sometimes look ugly#Iâm very very proud of my little flowers Iâve managed to grow#granted my tulips did not regrow and neither did the other little blue ones#but thatâs okay bc my big ol pot of hyacinths and my little windflowers have#and to me thatâs good enough. 3 outta 5 is better than none!!#and so I wanna plant more flowers and try my luck again#yâknow. the serotonin of seeing my hard physical work come back to life every year⊠very satisfying#ooc#if youâre not crafty but depressed and need smth to do with your hands#trying planting a flower outside#one thatâs sturdy and isnât too fragile. one you can accidentally miss watering for a day or two yâknow#itâs good and exciting to see them bloom

@yukikorogashi asked: "Opacho~ What's yer favorite food?"
"MmmâŠ" In the middle of taking a bite out of the onigiri Itsuki handed her the toddler's chewing slows as her brows furrow in thought. Nothing immediately comes to mind at first, she's eaten plenty of different kinds of foods. Hao-sama liked traveling so she's been to multiple countries in her short life, and their group had been full of people of various nationalities. She can't really say she's got a favorite food though.
There's been lots of good things she's tried and many of them left quite the impression, but she wasn't very sure. Still, Itsuki had asked her and she didn't want to give a boring answer. Opacho takes another bite of the riceball in her hand and hums, deciding to pick a dish that she's had and likes enough to want to eat more than once. That's basically what a favorite food was, right?
"Opacho like Tlayudas!" She responds with a small smile, "it traditional Oaxacan food, Peyote used to make it sometimes for group! He told Opacho once that it similar to pizza or quesadilla, depending on how you eat it. Opacho really liked it."
#yukikorogashi#opacho || [ask] || oracle bell#opacho || [headcanon] || medium#I am once again reiterating that Hao's group being portrayed as a found family was a missed opportunity on Takei's part#anyways that's my HC they're a found family and because they're all one big melting pot of cultures in one group they totally had days#where they shared their traditional cuisines or family recipes fight me. especially cause Hao did not like using money so#I know they asses wasn't in no restaurants. they totally stole or gathered ingredients or something and often cooked together#aah this took me a minute to think of since Takei gives us NOTHING#all them grown ass adults he was with too. I know several of them could cook! I also like to think Opacho gets to eat a lot of different#foods from other cultures thanks to them. idc if its untrue or flowers reveals something that makes this inaccurate or everybody's#feelings towards hao by the end of the series. don't care!!#yall will have to pry 'team hao is a found family' from my cold dead hands
