As soon as you made your discreet “escape” from your lecture, you felt all the piled up stress slowly break down on your walk.

But it seemed that your moment of peace wouldn’t last forever.

Your feet was frozen, the breath of relief you took rushed back into your body. The one person you had hoped wouldn’t show their face in front of you after everything, was now standing just a few feet apart from you.

It was him, Scaramouche—Or in your heart, Kuni.

Everything about him seemed so… recognizable. The way he stood with the same posture he did all those years ago, the way his hands instantly hid in his pockets, and the way you could see all of his emotions through his eyes.

The moment of your widened eyes meeting his lasted only for a few seconds despite feeling like hours. It truly felt as if you had been taken back to the first time you’ve met.

But had it been only you to feel such euphoria?

It became crystal clear that your friends were right all along. You hadn’t forgotten a single thing you loved about him.

The way his indigo orbs stared into yours while speaking, blessing your ears & sight simultaneously. The way your fingertips memorized the texture of his soft hair, soft skin, sweet lips. The satisfaction you got from being constantly reminded that he was only so comfortable, unreserved, near you.

“Excuse me.” Spoke such a familiar voice, bringing upon such familiar feelings in your heart. Your ears yearned to hear more.

But, that was it.

His shoulder slightly brushed against yours as he left you there, frozen and silenced. That satisfaction you once always felt merely turned into an aching sensation in your heart—Which was now dropped back into the pit of your stomach.

After all these years of pondering on what you could’ve done to cause him to text you that day, overthinking all your moments together… You finally got your answer.

You simply meant far less to him than he did to you.

kazuha! : one of scara’s longtime friends who’s a second year majoring in literature! you and him aren’t the closest, but you have always been somewhat friends with how kind he is. speaking of his kindness towards you, he displayed this towards everyone & anyone, hence his popularity on and off campus!

childe! : scara’s best friend since childhood who’s a first year majoring in physiology! you’ve become close over the years you spent with scaramouche (since he was always third wheeling) and he is another friend who knows everything about you two. you still keep in contact as he’s popular for talking to anyone he notices, his loud & outgoing personality blessing him greatly.

you & xiao have spent almost your whole lives together, considering you both grew up as neighbors during your childhood. play dates on the playground then led to picnic dates on the grass. you were so happy in your relationship you couldn’t see the bad things about it..like how xiao would leave you worried sick at home while he was out.

or the fact that when he would come home, he’d do nothing but express his hatred towards you.

you found yourself hoping, praying, that the old him would find its way back to you. but as days, weeks, even a few months, began to pass ; you could feel the realization hit you. you were in this relationship alone.
