Darko Ashanin killed with sniper shots! A Belgian citizen of Montenegrin origin, a boxer and a professional gambler, as Darko Asanin liked to call himself, was killed on June 30, 1998, at his cafe "Colosseum" in Dedinje! The murderer and the commissioner of the crime were never found, but from the very first moment of the investigation of this crime, it was clear: Ashanina was killed by a professional! - While Ashanin watched the transfer of the Netherlands-Argentina football match, a killer hidden in a bushes fired several shots in Dark's head from the sniper! Ashanin was killed while allegedly waiting to meet two high-ranking state officials, and what they were supposed to talk about, the remainder was unknown - said the interlocutor who was involved in the investigation of this crime. Interestingly, Ashyanin's close relative, who was discreetly guarding his back, was Minister of Defense Pavle Bulatovic, who was killed on February 7, 2000. The murder of Andrija Lakonic in 1990 at the Nana coffee shop in Senjak opened the issue of the secret police and the Belgrade underground for the first time in public. Darko Asanin was charged with this murder with his group, but he was released in October of that same year. Lawyer Vladan Vukcevic, then judge of the District Court who led the Lakonić case, told Blic that there were no criminal-technical evidence against Ashanin, which resulted in his acquittal. On suspicion of being involved in the murder of Lakonic, the investigation was also conducted against Veselin Vukotic, who was at large at that time, and a warrant was issued, but he was never charged because the investigation was interrupted. Vukotic, like Lakonic and Ashanin, was a secret police collaborator. He was arrested several months earlier when a regular traffic control discovered that he had a court order for him. The then head of juvenile crime in Belgrade, Miroslav Bižić, took over Vukotić, "on the reverse" and pulled him out of jail. Bizzic had the task of engaging young lions for the needs of the DB, and in turn did small services. This was the connection between secret and public police with the underworld, and Bižić was tasked with the DB with the task of coordinating this relationship. - Due to the withdrawal of Vukotic, Bisic was charged with abuse of office, and due to this charge at the trial, police and crime secrets were examined, which led to the appearance of some members of the secret police. The killing of Lakonic was caused by the great interest of high-ranking police officials who immediately came to the investigation. And Bižić was unauthorized to attend the investigation, but he could not be convicted of abuse of office because the borders of his official authority were not established and he was found guilty only for the "release of a person from the prison" - explains Judge Vukčević at the time. Judge Vukčević claims that the secret police did not exert any pressure on him either in connection with the conduct of the proceedings, nor with the passing of the verdict, nor that there was any obstruction of the case, at least not obvious. - Later, various speculations were made in the media, especially when a car was stolen from a court garage, allegedly for revenge - said Vukcevic, now a lawyer. After this affair, Bižić was transferred to private detectives, and on May 21, 1996, he was killed from an ambush in front of Merkator in New Belgrade. Darko Ashanin was liquidated two years later, on June 30, 1998, at his cafe "Colosseum" in Dedinje. by Rudar 7
