Every year my birthday has been a disaster and this year has been no different. 

Between fighting supernatural creatures to me figuring out I am in love with my best friend, Liam, today could not be more stressful.

At school it seems as though nobody remembers it is my birthday and I don’t know if it should bother me or not. Having low expectations means I have little chance of being disappointed, but what am I supposed to feel when even my low expectations aren’t met?

As if on cue Liam yells at me from down the hall, “Happy Birthday, Y/N!” I of course laugh. 

“Thank you, Liam!” I shouted back while walking to him.

“So any big plans tonight, Birthday Girl?” he places his arm around my shoulder.

“Should I even try to make plans? Any regular plans I make get interrupted by something supernatural.” I laugh and move his arm off my shoulder, hoping he won’t think anything of it.

“It is the day of your birthday, which also, conveniently, happens to be a Friday and you haven’t even planned a party?” he looks at me baffled, “That just means I will have to do it and quickly, we are gonna party all night.” Liam smiles at me.

“Ugh. Whatever you say, but leave me out of the planning, I am already stressed as it is.” I chuckle and walk to my class.

“So cover your eyes, I have a surprise

I hope you got a healthy appetite

Liam insisted on being the one to drive me to the party so I could not run away. I laugh at the thought of him going to all of this trouble just for my birthday, it is sweet, but to others might seem to be a bit much coming from their best friend. 

We arrive at the location and as I am opening my door, Liam stops me. 

“Wait. Hold on! Put this on.” He chuckles and hands me a blind fold.

“What? Why?” I nervously laugh.

“Just do it,” he looks at me, “please!” Liam pleads with me.

“Alright. I guess. Just don’t let me fall while getting out of the car.” I hesitantly put the blindfold on. 

We walk into the building and when he takes the blind fold off of me everybody shouts, “Happy 18th Birthday, Y/N!” I smile largely.

“Thank you!” I shout and hug Liam’s side. “DId you get any food?” I wiggle my eyebrows and he laughs.

“I hope you are hungry because I got a ton of food, but first, we dance!” He takes my hand and we walk out onto the dance floor with everyone.

“Boy, when you're with me, I'll give you a taste

I know you like it sweet, so you can have your cake

As we are dancing, I am watching Liam and I am mesmerized.

“What’s wrong, Y/N?” He asks me.

“Nothing!” I laugh nervously. I continue dancing and the way he moves turns me on.

As if he can read my mind, Liam looks at me with a smirk and grabs my hips and places my butt on his crotch and sways us to the music. “I can smell your arousal, Y/N.” He whispers huskily into my ear.
