So I'm surprised people didn't post this. As allister said, he died at the age of 4 in a really bad accident. This is as far as it goes with info like this as we don't know what accident it was. At this point in time, allister is 13 years old now thanks to research on bulbapedia.

Today on Obsessing Over the Ages of Pokémon Characters: how old are Lisia and Scottie/Bettie?

In ORAS May and Brendan are canonically twelve. I always imagined Lisia to be several years older than them, somewhere in the 16-18 range. So presumably Scottie/Bettie would be that age, right?

EXCEPT, in some of Lyra's Pokémon Center dialogue, she calls herself a "senior Trainer" to Scottie/Bettie, which kind of implies that she's older than them. And yet her design from HGSS is unchanged. Standard Pokémon protagonist age is 10-12, and based on Lyra's design I can't imagine her as older than 14. So are Scottie/Bettie and Lisia closer to one of those ages?

Of course, it's possible that Lyra only means "senior" in terms of how long she's been a Trainer - she's already completed her journey through Johto by the time she gets to Pasio. So she could be younger than them and still be their senior in that sense. She also mentions that she "forgets that [she's] the senior Trainer when she's with you," which would fit if Scottie/Bettie were older than her. So presumably Scottie/Bettie are older than the average Pokémon protag, and they and Lisia are in their upper teens.

TLDR: Scottie/Bettie (and Lisia) are probably around 16 years old, several years older than the protags of other games.
