HSR Cooking Headcanons!
found a big document of these i never finished but i think they're fun. doesn't include everyone but a vast majority of Belobog+Luofu characters
Trailblazer - not so great with a stove. Pom-Pom has PTSD flashbacks when they offer to help prepare meals and the Trailblazer is thusly shooed from the premises. they're used to foraging snacks and treasures in the trash anyway
March 7th - ADHD disaster. she can whip up desserts mostly but the kitchen looks like a tornado happened afterwards and she'll rope someone into helping
Dan Heng - this boy grew up in a prison and then spent his adult life on the run from his murderous ex, when did he have time to learn to cook? naw, if he's not on the Express it's takeout and fast food for this poor meow meow
Pom-Pom - the esteemed head chef of the Astral Express. they are the ruler of their kitchen and no recipe is beyond their grasp. you might wonder how they can reach the counters and grip utensils when they are so small and bunny-like but Pom-Pom is very good at what they do, so you don't have to worry at all!
Welt Yang - he's an ok cook, like many dads, but he's got a tendency to lean on parental shortcuts like frozen French fries or chicken nuggets (not that anyone ever complains about this)
Himeko - she's best left to her coffee brewing, let's just put it that way.
Kafka - also a disaster, but she has little interest in cooking for herself. this is also the reason the trailblazer can't cook - she wasn't able to teach them
Silver Wolf - no interest in cooking beyond TV meals or reheating leftovers. takeout, gamer supps and snackies take priority
Blade - somewhere in his muddied floodwaters of memory there's the capability to cook, but it comes and goes and the pain in his hands make it difficult to grip utensils and other implements with the fine motor movements required to chop and whisk and flip. He used to cook for his husband occasionally despite Dan Feng having a personal chef as high elder
Gepard - he does his best… things like breakfast eggs, toast, sausage, noodles, these are easy to accomplish. anything too fancy is a step too far. he's really too busy to practice.
Serval - generally competent. she had to learn to feed herself after getting kicked out of the architects and staying on her own. she's adventurous, always trying new flavor combinations and changing recipes for fun
Lynx - a true outdoorswoman, knows how to forage and trap game and cooks a mean stew. it's unconventional fare, though, and not to everyone's sensibilities.
Pela - a good cook. sticks to the recipes religiously, and very good at baking because of her precision
Natasha - "knows" how to cook but while she's great at the chemistry behind making medicines, food takes a backseat. grin and bear it if she asks you to try something she made, you don't want to make her sad. she tried really hard for you after all.
Hook - isn't allowed to cook without supervision but she makes an enthusiastic sous chef! helps Dad make dinner and sets a lovely table
Seele - abysmal but I can see her being interested in improving in order to cook something nice for Bronya. when asked why she's suddenly interested in learning, however, the lady doth protest too much. you don't question it further though because you don't want her to make you a knuckle sandwich.
Sampo - unfortunately my own biases cloud my judgement here because I love a man that can cook. but Sampo does seem like the sort of guy who operates on comedy law and that's something I am familiar with. option 1: he closes the door to the kitchen and refuses anyone's help. there's an unholy racket, a cloud of black smoke, some coughing, a Wilhelm scream, and then a few bars of whistling. when he emerges, it's with a pristine plate of gorgeously prepared braised meat and carmelized vegetables with delicate garnish. option 2: he puts on a bit of a show. it's like that cooking porn anime, and onlookers find they have to look away periodically or loosen a tie to keep themselves in check. finally, when he lifts the lid over the plate… the censorship committee has ordered it pixelated so it can still air in the same time slot. (both of these scenarios happen within the same week)
Bronya - she's too busy! she's always working or training or sleeping. luckily, Seele is hard at work learning to cook for her wife hard-working friend
Qingque - Maybe instant noodles, maybe the Xianzhou equivalent of box Mac and cheese. Otherwise she's patronizing the food spots in Aurum Alley and getting takeout ordered to her desk so she can be seen working through lunch (she's not actually working tho)
Fu Xuan - she makes a mean pot of tea but she's so busy she has no time to cook. She subscribes to box meals (like Hello Fresh, etc) so she can feel like she's not surviving on takeout and restaurant meals. She definitely has Girl Breakfast and Girl Lunch though (her favorite bubble tea and two cups of extra sugary tea for that afternoon pick-me-up, respectively) which is not great. Watch out for gastritis, sis.
Jing Yuan - he's got dad grilling vibes but I can't see this man seriously cooking. at best there'll be weaponized incompetence before he's shooed out of the kitchen, chuckling. since he's the general however I have to assume he has a personal chef.
Yanqing - tried to cut vegetables with his swords once and was summarily banned from every kitchen
Jingliu - I'm not even sure she eats anymore. Doesn't she just feed off of ambient malice or something
Luka - Mr. Meat Boy knows his way around a grill and a campfire, but try to sully it with vegetables and you're getting the biggest glare he can muster. A boxer can't live on meat alone, and considering you're nihility path, do we think a vegetable may cause less despair?
Guinaifen - does this girl live somewhere? Like in an apartment or something? She seems to be always out and about, busy streaming or performing or meeting friends to do either of the previous. She probably eats like Qingque does, grabbing something from the Alley whenever her tummy grumbles, but otherwise we are on 👏 the 👏 go !
Topaz - this girl is BUSY busy, she's ordering Grubhubs and Doordashes and having her order from the caf delivered by drone bot while she works through lunch. likes big meetings in the conference rooms though, because there's usually pastries and coffee
Aventurine - much like the other hardworking folks, he ends up with a lot of Space Doordashed lunches and late-work dinners. He attempts recipes from internet videos sometimes, for fun and the love of the trend. He doesn't super know what he's doing but it always turns out marvellously.
Ratio - Few things are outside Dr. Veritas Ratio's wheelhouse, and because a healthy diet is required to maintain a healthy body and mind, he's well versed in cooking techniques and healthy eating. Occasionally will stoop to making something less healthy like french toast to spoil Aventurine with.
Ruan Mei - In my head she's got the 'tism that makes her dislike all but like 2 or 3 textures, and those textures are generally desserts she's learned to make for herself - smooth puddings and pastes, soft dough. I suppose the Lifeform Oven isn't technically cooking, however…
Mme. Herta - [Automatic Reply] I'm busy. The cafeteria is open for this purpose. [This user cannot be replied to.]
Asta - there's a reason Arlan makes fried rice so well 🙃
#honkai star rail#headcanons#just for fun#hsr#samposting#honky stars#i like cooking so i like to think about how other people would (or wouldn't lol) be with cooking/food

Breakfast in bed
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: free space/ domestic fluff | rated: g | wc: 615 | tags: established relationship, fluff Eddie attempts to make breakfast in bed for Steve after a long week.
Eddie didn't know what had possessed him to try and make Steve breakfast in bed. Well, he did. Steve had been working so hard over the previous week, having to pull multiple doubles because Keith had screwed up the scheduling and allowed too many people to take vacation at the same time, and then Robin had called out sick for the entire week because she'd come down with pneumonia. It was Steve's first day off in over a week, and he deserved to sleep in, and then do as little as possible. So Eddie was making breakfast.
The problem was that he wasn't a great cook. He wasn't a disaster in the kitchen, he was generally safe with everything and wasn't so bad that he could burn water. But the extent of his culinary expertise was mostly stuff that was boxed or canned. Anything that took minimal preparation and came with clear instructions on the packet. Which had meant that they'd been surviving off tv dinners, and box mac and cheese, and other easy packet meals, for the week, because Eddie wasn't going to let Steve cook after the long days he was having at work. It just wouldn't have been fair.
But he wanted to give Steve something better on his day off. Making breakfast was an adventure. The eggs were fairly easy, he'd decided on making scrambled eggs as he could never get fried eggs the way Steve liked them. He somehow always managed to overcook them to the point he was almost certain they would bounce if he dropped one, either that or they were practically raw. He just found scrambled eggs easier. He even made sure to add the handful of shredded cheese and the dash of hot sauce to get them right. The bacon didn't go quite right, coming out slightly burnt, but luckily Steve liked his bacon so crispy it was almost cremated, so it wasn't unsalvageable. He wasn't even going to attempt to make anything like waffles or pancakes or french toast, but there were frozen pancakes that he could toast. He also found some hash browns when he was looking in the freezer, so he threw some into a pan to add them to Steve's breakfast as well. While he was making coffee, those did overcook, leaving about half too burnt to serve. But once everything was plated, he felt it was a half decent breakfast.
When Eddie got upstairs with the breakfast, he realized there was one thing he hadn't quite thought through. How to open the bedroom door with his hands full. He was looking for somewhere to put the tray down, when Steve opened the door and started to walk out.
"Eds? What's going on?" Steve asked, looking Eddie over.
"I. I made you breakfast? I was bringing it up to you so you could have breakfast in bed." Eddie replied, shuffling a little on the spot, unsure what to do now as he couldn't surprise Steve in bed with it.
"I thought I could smell something burning." Steve replied with a grin.
"Hey!" Eddie couldn't be offended, because he knew Steve was right. "Now, mister, you are going to get back in bed and enjoy this breakfast that I painstakingly made for you. And for the rest of the day, all you have to worry about is relaxing."
"Thank you." Steve went and climbed back into bed, Eddie following him and handed him the tray once he was settled. "This looks good, Eddie. I love you."
"I love you too, sweetheart. You deserve the best." Eddie sat on his side of the bed, leaning over to kiss Steve before he could start eating.

Popcorn Fight!
Trigger warning: Nothing but fluff!
Summary: Jake and you spend an entire Saturday watching movies.
It's a snowy Saturday. The grocery shopping was done yesterday, and today, the roads are icy and bad. There was a snowstorm last night, and driving anywhere was a nightmare. Luckily, you and Jake prepared for the worst.
You bought a frozen pizza to make for later. You and Jake were eating bacon, eggs, and biscuits for breakfast. You and Jake had just finished your coffees, and now you and Jake had settled on the couch, with a bunch of movies on Netflix. It certainly was a Netflix and chill day today.
You had some dollar store candy laid out. You had a few bags of popcorn ready to go. You had plenty of water, some Coke for Jake, and some lemonade for you.
Jake had just finished walking Mario, and he was bundled up. Mario was in the house, and trying to get warm. So was Jake. He was cold to the bone. It was even colder out with the wind chill.
"Honey bun, I'm freezing," says Jake. He looked it, too.
"Okay, let's get you out of this coat, and get some hot coffee in you, goofball," you say, using your pet name for Jake.
You pour Jake his coffee just the way he likes it.
"Okay, you pick the first movie," you say.
"Okay, let's watch Holmes and Watson", says Jake.
You and Jake snuggle on the couch under the blanket, and just enjoy the movie.
When that's over, Jake needs a pee break. So, you both go ahead and take a pee break. When you come back, Jake finds you fixing grilled cheese sandwiches and fries for lunch.
"Mmm, grilled cheese is perfect for lunch, honeybun," says Jake.
"Thank, Jake," you say.
Jake gets out the ketchup and the plates, and he puts the fries in the air fryer. Lunch is already starting to taste good, and your stomach is growling.
The fries are halfway done, and you start the grilled cheese sandwiches. Jake has his arms around your waist as you're making the sandwiches, and is kissing your shoulder.
The fries are done when the air fryer beeps, and the grilled cheese is done. You get the waters for the both of you, and Jake squirts some ketchup on the plates. You both go into the living room, and eat your lunch, and watch The Incredibles on Disney +.
"Mmm, this is the best," you say, stealing a kiss from Jake.
"It is," says Jake,
You let Mario out so that he can do his business, and then swiftly let him back in.
You make some popcorn, and pull out a huge bowl. The popcorn is done, so you both settle back on the couch under the blanket. You decide on Knives Out, and it's sequel Glass Onion, and you and Jake are snuggling on the couch, in your PJ's, watching the movies and eating popcorn, without a care in the world. It's so blissful.
You and Jake are deep into the movie, when you playfully throw a kernel of popcorn at him. Jake playfully throws one back at you, and you two keep doing this. You two get into a popcorn fight! It's so cute and playful, and Mario is napping in his dog bed, in corner of the living room. It's such a cozy scene.
You and Jake kiss lovingly, and then eat the popcorn while watching the movie.
Eventually, you and Jake are hungry again, and you two decide to make the frozen pizza, which is cheese and pepperoni.
You decide on Playing it Cool, and Jake preheats the oven, and pulls out the pizza. The pizza is a Freshetta, and you can already taste it.
"Jake, I can already taste the pizza," you say.
"I can't wait. This is going to be the last movie for the night," says Jake.
The pizza is ready, and Jake baked it to perfection. His cooking skills are getting better every time. The pizza smelled divine. Dessert was some candy, and you couldn't wait.
Jake finds a pizza roller, and slices the pizza. He pulls down some plates, and puts a few slices on each plate. He grabs some paper towels, and you two enjoy the movie. You two finish the pizza, and have some candy for dessert. You and Jake brush your teeth, with Jake covering you in toothpaste kisses.
You two snuggle in bed, and go to sleep. You two can't wait until tomorrow, when you'll be watching the Lord of the Rings movies with Jake.
Life with Jake was an easy, effortless and full of surprises. You love your sweet, adorkable, goofball!

Adjusting- Helluva Boss Ficlet
After the events of Mastermind, Stolas adjusts to life in Blitzø's apartment. Fic below the cut! (Also, should I post this on AO3? Idk it isn't really much.)
Word count: 1,220-ish. Domestic Fluff. Not beta read.
Was there always so much commotion in Imp City?
Were car horns always blaring at every possible nuisance while passers-by screamed at anyone and anything they could? Was something literally always on fire? Even for Hell, it seemed a bit much.
Stolas managed to sleep the first night he spent at Blitzø’s apartment. Despite the celebration outside– that lasted well into the following day–, his own exhaustion kept him unconscious until dawn.
But every night since then, there has been constant pandemonium. And from Blitzø’s lack of reaction to it all, it was all incredibly normal.
Ducking under the doorframe that he’d only hit his head on once, Stolas returned to the couch from the bathroom. This was about all the movement he could manage lately. Although, it wasn't as though the apartment had much room to move around.
Blitzø and his daughter seemed to have a system when in shared spaces, but even then, it was still a little cramped. Stolas remembered the growl he heard yesterday when Blitzø accidentally stepped on Loona's tail as the two did dishes together.
He slumped over on the couch again, trying not to think about his own daughter. He tried not to dream of a scenario where he apologizes for trodding on her tail as she dries the next plate he hands her. It's easy enough not to picture: at the palace, there was no shortage of servants to do the daily housework for him. Octavia wouldn’t ever have to think about the things Stolas was now learning to do.
Stolas extended his hand, waiting for the remote control to come to him. He knew his powers were gone, but it appeared as though his muscle memory wasn’t up-to-date on things.
With the endless noise from outside drowning out his deep sigh, Stolas made his way to the kitchen. Perhaps it would be best to attempt to cook something. Even if he didn’t eat, the activity would be better than wasting away on the couch that was his new bed.
Blitzø had taught him the basics of the stovetop on his second day in the apartment. While Stolas wasn’t making gourmet meals yet, he was getting better at the simple things. Breakfast was by far the easiest; a failed omelette still made for decent scrambled eggs, and burnt toast could simply be scraped until the worst of it was gone. Meats came in convenient frozen packages that only needed to be pan-fried or microwaved.
None of the ingredients were of the quality he was accustomed to, but how could he possibly complain?
Blitzø had taken him in, clothed him, fed him. The imp gave up his own bed for Stolas. He could at least try to pick himself back up, even if baby steps were all he could manage.
With eggs sizzling in the pan, Stolas turned towards the toaster just in time to catch the toast as it popped upwards. He grabbed a plate from the cabinet that Blitzø had to stretch to reach, and a knife from the drawer that was too low for himself.
The jingle of keys could just be heard over the clatter of the pan Stolas placed in the sink.
“And,” Blitzø said from the hallway, “that's why I don't fuck with alligators!”
“That has nothing to do with- ugh, nevermind.” Loona said as she opened the door. Both were home earlier than expected, each carrying a plastic bag in hand.
“Alright,” Blitzø said as he sniffed the air, “it smells like breakfast for dinner!”
Stolas smiled, one of the few times he’d done so in the past few months. Without a word, he offered his plate to Blitzø.
“Nah,” Blitzø said, "I'm good. You eat. I'm just glad to see you up and moving around, Stolas.”
Stolas looked down at the plate, at the toast neatly cut and arranged, the eggs perfectly cooked, and the unspecified meat patty that he’d fried until it had the nicest crispy edge.
“I insist.” Stolas said, holding the plate within Blitzø's reach. The imp's eyes softened the way they had been doing so often in the past week. The expression that Stolas had grown more accustomed to as he learned more about Blitzø than he knew before.
“Actually, we-” Loona began, but Blitzø cut her off by shoving the small plastic bag he was holding into her arms and taking the plate from Stolas.
“We, uh, you see,” he stammered, “we had a lighter workload today, so I had everyone clock out early! And Loonie was hungry– she was starving, so I got her two dinners.”
Blitzø flicked his eyes between Stolas and Loona, making small hand motions at the latter. “And now, she's gonna eat in her room, like she said she wanted to do earlier. Right sweetie?”
“Uhh, yeah.” Loona rolled her eyes and walked off to her room, taking what Stolas now realized was both her and Blitzø's takeout with her.
“Enjoy your dinner, Loonie!” Blitzø called out, setting his plate down at the table.
“Now,” he continued, “why don’t I set the table while you get yours ready, huh, Stols?”
Stolas wrung his hands together. Blitzø’s generosity was one thing, but it was his willingness to include Stolas in nearly every part of his life that made Stolas feel more at home than he’d ever felt before. His face scrunched a little as he tried to contain the feeling.
Blitzø brushed past and placed a hand on Stolas’ outer thigh. “You need another pep-talk?” he asked in a whisper.
Stolas’ heart fluttered. “No,” he answered, moving back into the kitchen, “not just yet.”
After a few minutes of stepping around one another, both were seated for dinner.
“Isn’t your food cold by now?” Stolas asked.
“Nah, it’s all good.” Blitzø answered, his mouth full of a bit of everything. “Besides, I think you’re getting better at cooking. You didn’t even burn anything this time!”
Stolas would have laughed if he could; he let out a huff of air, which didn’t go unnoticed.
“You know,” Blitzø pointed his fork at Stolas, “if you keep getting better, I’ll have to make you the official IMP chef. Whatcha think?”
“Hmm,” Stolas chewed his toast before responding, “I think I’ll have to learn how to make more than just breakfast, then.”
“Take as long as you need, Stolas. IMP isn’t going anywhere anytime soon,” Blitzø reached across the small table and took Stolas’ hand in his, “and neither am I.”
Stolas laced his fingers in between Blitzø’s. The constant clamor from outside seemed much more distant now. Padded paws made their way from the other side of the living room when Loona emerged from her room.
“Yikes,” she winced, making her way to the kitchen, “don’t mind me, guys. I just don’t want ants.”
Blitzø sat up straight, not taking his hand away from Stolas, and watched Loona toss the empty containers in the garbage.
“Wait, Loonie, tell me you didn’t actually eat my egg rolls!”
“Yep,” Loona smirked, “all of ‘em.”
“Fuuuuck,” Blitzø muttered, getting up and looking into the trash. “Hey, Stols! I need you to learn how to make egg rolls ASAP, okay? It’s really fucking important.”
A small chuckle escaped from Stolas beak, surprising him and drawing Blitzø’s full attention away from Loona and the garbage can.
“I’ll see what I can do, Blitzø.”

Hello, I create food from fiction and fanfiction, and love your work! Although I follow many stories you write, I was leaving some to read later because I can't hold too many WIPs in my head and you are such a prolific writer! So imagine my delight when I decided to start your Little Histories because the premise was too interesting to not read right now, and there was an entire chapter titled food?!!! Aaa!! So this is me just saying that I plan on making some foods from this story and will tag you and your story too! I hope that's fine.
And my question was: what is a full English breakfast? Based on your story and Google, it seems to include at least sausages, baked beans, fried mushrooms, runny eggs (sunny side up?), and also bacon, toast, fried bread (?), toasted bread, grilled tomatoes (?), black pudding (is this mandatory?). What should I absolutely include for the sake of the story?
Ok thank you and I can't wait for more updates to this sweet story!
Hello my dear! Thank you for the ask and the message, and can I just say that people who recreate food from books and fic are WIZARDS like you have a power that fascinates and compels me and I cannot wait to see what you come up with when you do!!! <3
So a traditional Full English breakfast is a massive undertaking and there's a reason why it's called a FULL English lol. The absolute musts are:
Sausage (If you're making this at home, it's kind of whatever sausage you like to use best. Breakfast sausage is popular.)
Back bacon (Specifically back bacon, what we'd call Canadian bacon in the US -- I think streaky bacon i.e. iconic American bacon is used sometimes, but much more rarely and it's definitely not traditional)
Sunny-side up eggs
Fried bread (You'll see this sort of interchangeably referred to as "toast" when looking at recipes and I do the same in my fic, but it is specifically bread fried in butter or oil, though I prefer butter)
Tomatoes (Cut in half, seasoned with salt and pepper, and then seared flesh-side down until they get some color. They don't have to be cooked through, though it depends on your preference)
Beans (Beans are a MUST according to anyone from the UK. You need British style beans, which are different from American-style baked beans. I've been informed that Heinz makes a British style canned beans, but I will be really honest -- the few times I've made a Full English I did not add beans because I'm a filthy Yank loool)
Optional Ingredients:
Mushrooms (Some people will say that these are required, but if you don't like mushrooms, you don't need them. These get browned and caramelized in a bit of oil or butter, with s&p for seasoning if you want!)
Black pudding (Also called blood sausage. If you like it, you love it. If you don't like it, nothing on earth will make you eat it. Black pudding gets sliced and cooked the same way as sausage. It's much harder to get in America (though I've heard if you have a local butcher you can sometimes get it), so I've never actually had it.)
Potatoes (There are some people who will stab you for mentioning hash browns in the same breath as a Full English and there are some people, like me, who are filthy Yanks and prefer potatoes over beans. For those of us who are heathen barbarians, the frozen triangular hash browns are fine, lol.)
There are regional variants that I'm not getting into because they aren't mentioned in the fic (Scotland, Wales, and Ireland all have specific additions), but these are the core things that make up a Full English! Thank you so much for reading, I'm so so glad you're enjoying so far and I hope you're having fun and continue to have fun!!! <3

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR CHAPTER 30!
That night when Zaida had gone to bed, she hadn’t been able to rest soundly at all. Whilst Stiles was fast asleep in the guest bedroom simply a wall away from her, she’d ended up tossing and turning until the early hours of the morning, unable to break her mind away from the images of him playing behind her eyes. When she’d finally succumbed to the land of unconsciousness he’d been there in her dreams too, holding her in the completely still waters of the beach as a thunderstorm raged above. The sound of his voice whispering sweet nothings was still echoing in her ears when she woke the next morning, sun streaming through half-closed shutters and drawn curtains. The substance of his words was instantly lost to her, drifting to the place where all her dreams seemed to escape to once she woke. It left her entirely unsettled.
Busying herself with getting up and ready for the day, she didn't even realise how early it was until she walked past the large clock hung on the wall next to the kitchen bench on her way to make breakfast. There was nothing much for her to do, besides work on translating the Callisto Bestiary or cooking breakfast. She decided upon the latter, diving into the fridge to see what Stiles had brought with him in his portable cooler. There was still half a packet of uncooked bacon and most of a carton of eggs from yesterday’s breakfast, as well as a loaf of sliced bread, some milk, sandwich ingredients and leftover pasta from their late dinner the night before. “Looks like bacon and eggs again,” She mumbled happily to herself and got started.
She was humming the tune to ‘Sweater Weather’ and transferring the last few fried eggs from the pan to a plate when Stiles’ footsteps thudding down the stairs set her on edge once more. She knew she was being completely and utterly ridiculous. This was Stiles Stilinski - one of her best friends and the same boy who she’d once watched eat half a jar of peanut butter with a spoon in one sitting. The same boy who regularly fell over his own feet, talked a thousand miles per minute, chewed with his mouth open, and couldn’t stay still to save his life. She’d simply been affected by the alcohol, right? But there was no rum-spiked haze when she looked at him now, and her heart faltered in her chest.
Her whole body seemed to go numb, her mind so frozen in shock that the spatula slipped from her fingers and clattered to the floor noisily. “Fuck,” She cursed under her breath, but not for the reason Stiles assumed as he hurried to help her, bending to pick up the dropped utensil at the same time she did, their heads bumping together almost painfully.
“Oww, sorry,” He apologised, rubbing his head and stepping back, allowing her to put the dirty spatula in the sink. Zaida ran the tool under warm water, scrubbing at it with the sponge mindlessly.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck! Fuck! FUCK. FUCK!
How had this happened? How was she crushing on Stiles Stilinski - her best friend - of all people? Though she supposed he had always been there for her, through all of the best and worst times of the year. He was the one who had pulled her back from her panic attacks, and protected her from danger. He was the one she could always talk to about anything and everything. This was the boy who had blown wolfsbane into a werewolf’s face for her, and who she’d solved mysteries with as if it was nothing. The same boy who always managed to make her laugh - even at the most inappropriate of times - and who had believed in her when even she herself hadn’t. The boy who let her live with him for weeks because he refused to allow her to go somewhere she was uncomfortable being. He was smart, charming, funny, loyal, goofy, geeky…everything she’d always been attracted to before. Now that she thought about it, he was completely her type. So really, how could she have not fallen for him?
“Zay, you okay?” Stiles pulled her hands away from the water gently, the contact sending electric zaps up her arm. She focused back in on reality to realise she’d been standing there scrubbing the spatula for several minutes and her hands were red raw from the temperature of the water, which she had unwittingly been heating in her stress-driven musings.
“Yeah, I’m fine…” She nodded, stepping away from him and allowing him to take over preparing their breakfast as she leaned back against the bench and watched him. All of those times that she’d felt that uncomfortable twisting in her stomach when she thought about him with Lydia, the disappointment she’d felt when she realised he’d been watching the redhead at that Lacrosse game instead of her, all the times she’d suddenly felt warm or her heart had beaten a bit faster…everything that she’d excused in the moment now all led back to the undeniable fact that somewhere along the way she’d started falling for Stiles Stilinski. Exactly when it had happened, she couldn’t pinpoint. Perhaps it wasn’t a switch that had flipped, but rather the accumulation over time of everything that they’d been through together and all the things she’d learned about him. It didn't really matter how it had happened. The reality remained that she was so totally, incredibly, unbelievably fucked.
Zaida had never been, and would never be, a morning person. When Stiles first noticed the girl acting strangely at breakfast, he’d brushed it off as being due to the early hour of the day. As the time ticked by and they finished their food and packed their things into the Jeep, heading out on the road back to Beacon Hills, her disposition still hadn’t improved. Not even when he put on her favourite R&B playlist and tried to initiate a jam session. Her mind remained entirely somewhere else and she was quieter than he’d ever known her to be, her sight transfixed out the passenger’s side window. He’d asked her multiple times now if she was okay, and he’d been met with the same answer.
“I’m fine.” She insisted when he asked for the fifth time, with a half-smile that didn’t quite meet her eyes like her smiles usually did. She barely looked at him. It left him wondering if he’d done something to upset or offend her. She’d seemed completely fine when they’d separated for bed the previous night. What had changed? Had he said something offensive or insensitive and not realised? They were hours into the drive and she’d not said more than those two words to him. He might not be an expert on the female gender by any means, but even he knew that ‘I’m fine’ never meant anything good.
Zaida was so busy enraptured with her own thoughts and bubbling anxiety that she didn't even notice the boy’s inner turmoil. There was a palpable and unfamiliar tension in the air now that she was aware of her feelings towards him, and she hated how her simply knowing had already changed everything. She loved their friendship and she wouldn’t trade the bond they’d built for the world. If this new development was going to threaten that connection…she didn’t want to know. Unfortunately, in this particular scenario, she didn't have the option to choose the bliss of ignorance. All she could think about was how completely and utterly stupid she was for allowing this to happen. Stiles was obsessed with Lydia Martin - her very best friend - and had been for years. That wasn’t going to go away any time soon, if it even would at all. God, what had she gone and done?
What was she going to do now? Could she really just go back to Beacon Hills and pretend like nothing had changed when her whole world had tilted on its axis? You have to, she told herself, or you’re going to lose him completely.
When Stiles pulled up to drop her off at Lydia’s house a quarter of an hour before Xander was due to pick her up, they were both surprised to find her brother standing with his arms crossed in the girl’s driveway. Mrs Martin’s car was nowhere to be seen, and Lydia’s was parked out front, right where it had been when Xander had left her here days earlier. She instantly knew she’d been caught out and groaned in apprehension at the tongue-lashing she was guaranteed to receive. Stiles rolled down his window, slowing to a stop and waving at the man.
“Hey there, Deputy Callis.” He smiled and nodded in greeting. “We just gave Lydia a ride to the airport-”
“Save the excuse, Stiles,” Xander interjected with a stern expression. “I spoke to Mrs Martin and I know Lydia has been in Los Angeles with her father since Sunday morning. I also spoke to your dad and I know you’ve supposedly been staying at Scott’s since - wouldn’t you know it, Sunday morning. Sheriff Stilinski is waiting for you when you get home.”
“That’s just great.” Stiles muttered bitterly, fingers tapping nervously across the top of the steering wheel.
“I’ll see you around, Stiles,” Zaida stated morosely, leaning into the back seat to grab her duffel bag. “You know, when I get out of jail.”
“Bye, Zay.” He shot her a small smile and she responded in kind, trudging over to Xander’s state-issued police car.
“What gave it away?” She asked her brother when her belt was buckled and her door was closed behind her.
“My key to the beach house was missing from the evidence box hidden in the back of my closet.” He explained, and the engine roared to life. The car was on the road and heading towards the apartment within moments.
“You don’t seem nearly as mad as I expected you to be.” She frowned in confusion, noting the absence of the temper that had become the norm as of late.
“I can’t blame you for doing exactly what I did, Zay.” He sighed heavily and her head snapped towards him at the revelation. “You found our family’s Bestiary, didn’t you? In the secret room in the office?”
“I’m sorry, I’m still caught up on the fact that you’re completely fine with me and Stiles taking off behind your back.” She raised a brow at him.
“Oh, I’m not fine with it at all. That boy might be the Sheriff’s son, and I may hold Noah Stilinski in high respects, but Stiles is a bad influence on you.” Xander tutted disapprovingly. “That’s not to say I don’t understand it. If there is one thing I’ll give Stiles credit for, it’s for being there for you when I wasn’t. For that, I’m grateful.”
“You know, he’s not as troublesome as everyone makes him out to be. He just does what has to be done to protect everyone. All of us do.” She defended him.
“I might be able to accept that you’re involved, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to talk about it so casually.” He warned her, jaw clenching. “Needless to say, you’re grounded for the remainder of the summer.”
“What?! But you said you understood why I went?” She protested, mouth falling open in shock.
“I do, but that doesn’t change the fact that you lied to me and broke multiple rules.” Xander pointed out.
“Oh, you’re really going to lecture me about lying? Seriously? Come on! All of summer? That’s like two months!” She begged him to reconsider. “I’ll miss out on so much!”
“That’s the whole point of being grounded.” He shrugged, parking out the front of their apartment block.
“When you say grounded-” She started but he knew exactly what she was going to ask.
“That means no going out and no friends coming over. None of them. No Isaac. No Stiles. No Lydia.” He listed the terms and conditions of her punishment.
“No Lydia?!” She called out, hurrying after him with her duffel bag swinging over her shoulder. “Wait, what if you just ground me for like half of the summer?”
After spending the entire climb up the winding staircase trying - and failing - to convince Xander to lessen her sentence, she skulked off to her bedroom, tossing her bag down on her bed. She was half-tempted to just leave it there - she had two whole months of nothing better to do but unpack it anyway. However, her phone charger was shoved somewhere down the bottom. With a long and heavy sigh, she unzipped the bag only to freeze when she discovered a large, cream-and-pink-coloured conch shell. It was practically perfect, and there was no way it could have gotten into her bag other than…
Stiles must have found it when she’d left him to swim at the beach and snuck it into her luggage afterwards when he’d taken their bags to the car. She was flabbergasted as she stared at it, reaching out to pick it up as tenderly as if it would shatter under her touch. The boy clearly really did listen whenever she would talk to him. The pure sweetness of the gesture made her heart squeeze in her chest so tightly she thought it might burst. How was she supposed to force herself to get over him when he randomly did thoughtful things like this? The notion struck her that this grounding could possibly work in her favour. Maybe distance was exactly what she needed to get her feelings under control.

Top 5 ways to prepare mushrooms? 🎤
my standard 5+ days a week breakfast of mushrooms + spinach + eggs in a tortilla with some cheese
mushroom + onion + spinach + cherry tomato frittata
cook down mushrooms in a pan with onions and balsamic vinegar and veg of your choice (its great with broccoli or zucchini) and then add either pasta or pearl couscous and more balsamic vinegar. ideal pasta to veg ratio in this is 1:1
mushroom + tofu + peas + carrots in fried rice. my usual ratio here is 8oz of mushroom, 14oz of tofu, and 1cup of uncooked rice (but like. cook it first please). fried rice neeeeeeds mushrooms a fried rice without mushrooms is just sad
ANY kind of soup with mushrooms. i love mushroom and rice soup. i made a hot and sour soup last night that was amazing. but the best is what i call Lazy Soup. just broth + mushrooms + spinach + soy sauce + chili flakes + either instant noodle block or frozen dumplings (or both if you're feeling fancy). ready in the amount of time it takes to boil water basically.
as you can see i rarely just Cook Mushrooms on their own. this is mostly because i dont really cook anything just on its own. i prefer all my meals to be super mixed up in one big pot and all cooked together :3 but honourable mentions ofc go to Grilled Portobello Mushrooms ad the classic Mushrooms and Caramelized Onions that you can use as a delicious topping for a steak or grilled chicken breast. but yeah! theyre my favourite ingredient and i go through 8-16oz of mushrooms every week. :3

Do you think Tony would ever try to surprise his girl with a homemade breakfast made all by himself? And if so, what do you think his chances of actually managing to cook something edible are?
Omgggg he would attempt sometimes! But he’s a little funny about eating in bed so you may be in the kitchen usually 😅 But sometimes he wants to be nice either way!! Especially if you’ve been sad, sick, etc. and he’ll have a nice little tv tray to set it up on and all.
Young!Tony probably, uh, might have to do something more simple, or maybe just like, pancakes or something, that he still may or may not overcook the first few times. He’ll try his best! But sometimes his mom decides (or is asked really nicely) to help out. But he can probably get by with a scrambled or fried egg and toast and stuff. But… he probably thinks it’s not very fancy or special :(( which maybe it’s not and maybe it’s the thought that counts, but still! If you like blueberries/chocolate chips/etc in your pancakes, he’ll always make a smiley face with them :)
Older Tony on the other hand will actually do a lot better! Living on his own for so long, not only did he have to, like, do adult thing sometimes, but he did get bored (and bored of frozen or takeout food) and play around in the kitchen! He can do slightly more complex recipes on his own (or, follow a recipe at least). Maybe you like eggs benedict or veggie omelettes! He can handle that! And he’ll be pretty damn proud every time :) if it’s something new, however, he will be pretty nervous. And he may sometimes have a heavy hand with the salt when he first cooks something…
And with older Tony, your kids will probably want to do it more often ☺️ only this time, they get to help cook! Sort of. They’ll still be pretty excited to let you know that they got to crack the eggs or sprinkle those chocolate chips into the pancakes! And make a design with them that totally looks like a unicorn and not a blob 😌

For my birthday I went to Jamaica!! I was hype! I left my house a few hours after recording CHURCH🙏🏾🎶 which followed my Birthday Bash on Twitch!! THANK 🫵🏾 to everyone who came thru & celebrated with me. Happy heavenly birthday LeeSah Pitts!! 💜🙏🏾🕊️💐 I left NYC early on her birthday; 4:20am to be exact.
Took a cab to Pennstation. Caught New Jersey Transit within 5 minutes of getting there and I was on my way to Newark Liberty International Airport. When I go to catch the AirTrain from the stop to the actual airport, there’s a problem with the air train. From 5:35am til 6:40, I transferred to 4 air trains to get from the NJT stop to the actual airport itself.
There was a disgruntled older gentlemen beefing about people having manners but what he didn’t notice was that he almost knocked me down while entering the 4th air train. I just watched him bitch about courtesy & respect while shaking my head. It was too early for all of that. My flight was at 8am, thank goodness. Met my sister & we boarded the plane on time.
We get to the airport in Montego Bay & our ride to our hotel is $100. I get it. It’s in Westmoreland Negril & we’re in Montego Bay. Thats the actual cost No subways out here. 🤣 & They don’t stamp passports in Jamaica anymore at that airport & maybe it was best. From here on, I stopped enjoying myself. I knew from the airtrain fiasco, I was in for a bumpy ride, literally & figuratively.
After going to ScotiaBank to get some cash, (didn’t know $1 USD = $157+ JM), so I was straight but the ride was in USD. No problem. Before I booked this trip, I saw the pics on Expedia for SAMSARA CLIFF RESORT in Negril, so I was confident that a good time would be had… All the greenery & plushness.. I was ready!
As soon as we arrived and got our room key, I was informed by Jennifer, at the front desk, that we had a King sized bed. I said, why? I made these reservations January 6th & specifically requested 2 Queen sized bed in a no smoking room. She said that was up to the person that makes the reservations Huh? What the..? Ok Wooosah.. When we get to the room, it’s literally raggedy; from the broken down armoire, rusted safe, tiny refrigerator & 40 inch TV & compact shower with no washcloths. We go out to the balcony & there’s an ashtray full of cigarette butts. The room smelled like wack ass air freshener & stale cigarettes. I was angry but I was even more hungry.
Yall know how I get down when I leave NYC. Even if it’s just to AC. But this was not for me. There was a buffet dinner, so you know I’m amped. I’m in Jamaica and I’m about to get this authentic Jamaican food. The buffet had plantain, jerk chicken, coconut rice & beans, pumpkin soup, escovitch snapper, callalloo, meat lasagne, fried dumplins & rum cake. YES!
I don’t do meat so I’m super particular about my fish. Hmmm Nah, son. I NEVER had BREADED escovitch snapper before. 🤦🏾♀️ And for the record, it was cod, not snapper & the seasoning was way off. The pumpkin soup was watery & tasted watered down, as if to thin it out. There was no coconut or salt or seasoning in the coconut rice & peas & the callalloo tasted like frozen collard greens with all the stems and no seasoning. The Rum cake looked it was from Costco I was pissed. We paid the $76 for the mediocre food. We went downstairs to the bar for drinks. THANKS, TINA. She hooked us up the whole stay with tasty strong drinks. The Super Bowl was on but I had enough. Went to my room to do puzzles on my phone.
Next morning, we get up and decide breakfast has to be the bomb, right? Got dressed, went to the dining area and ordered ackee, saltfish & callalloo. Can’t mess up a traditional Jamaican dish in Negril, right? We both ate maybe 3 forkfuls, and bounced It wasnt saltfish. I know what all of that tastes like because I live in NYC. We have dope Caribbean eateries, (Jamaican, Guysnrse, Trinidadian, Haitian, etc) & they all cook their style of food spiced up and made to taste extraordinary, to me at least. We could not eat another bite. My sister is a diabetic & they had no sugar alternatives. They searched a box of whatever & found one Splenda packet. The kicker? No refills on the 6oz cup of coffee. They wanted an extra $2.50 for the second cup. We paid, bounced, & found a cabbie across the street. He took us to Patsy’s on West End Road. Thank you, Popsi!!
Came back to the hotel to get a tan. I dont see it. We sat out on the “I guess you can call it” deck & chilled in the sun for at least 3 hours. How do you have holes in the beach chairs? Watched the lobsters cook at the pool yet I have no bikini lines as far as I can see. My anger kept me from getting tipsy because I was drinking rum like water.
We knew we weren’t paying another dime to eat at the hotel, so our rider, Popsi told us about a few nice restaurants and we had dinner at the Rock House Restaurant and it was beautiful!! The food was excellent!! We stuffed our faces, they had Moscato, the view was amazing, and they sang “Happy Birthday” to me and presented me with the dopest chocolate rum cake I ever tasted. Squaddy/Jason hooked us up. Love me some pepper pot soup!! Blue Mountain Coffee is the bomb!! Yes, Iyah!!
When we returned to the room our fresh linens were wrapped in a plastic bag & sitting on the bed. When I opened it, I saw dingy white washcloths with the word Samsara written in faded magic marker. Are they claiming their washcloths? Why were there holes in the towels? Why was the bug I asked the housekeeper to remove still in the tub dead where I left it? Why wasn’t the pull out bed removed? I was finally done.
Got up to leave for good, a day early, and there’s no water in the little sink or the little shower. We waited. The pressure was low when it did finally come on and then went off again. Luckily we got up as early as we did. Waited almost another hour for the water to come back on for my sister to shower I had enough. Popsi took us to the airport to go back to the US.
I must say Samsara Cliff Resort will never see me again & if you know better you do better. I should’ve checked ALL of their ratings in Expedia. Those pics on the site showing all that plushness & greenery everywhere was false. Some of the workers were sweet. Some gave me a dirty look & never spoke. The best experience was the Rock House Restaurant!! I’m grateful for my sister, Melody joining me & being there with me thru it all. We had as much fun as we could with those views. But Samsara will never see me again. And Jennifer refused to give me a refund, even for the day I didnt stay. Its cool. Learn from your mistakes and act accordingly. Since I couldn’t do a review on Expedia, now everybody can see & know exactly what this place offers. ✌🏾

Exploring IQF Diced Green Peppers: A Versatile and Nutrient-Packed Ingredient

In the world of culinary delights and health-conscious eating, frozen produce has gained significant popularity for its convenience and nutritional value. Among the array of options, IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) diced green peppers stand out as a versatile and practical choice for households and foodservice professionals alike. Let's dive into what makes IQF diced green peppers a must-have addition to your kitchen.
What Are IQF Diced Green Peppers?
IQF diced green peppers are freshly harvested green peppers that are diced into uniform pieces and frozen using the Individually Quick Freezing process. Unlike traditional freezing methods, IQF ensures that each piece of produce is frozen separately, preventing clumping. This advanced freezing technique locks in the peppers' natural flavor, vibrant color, and nutrients, making them a superior choice for both taste and health benefits.
Benefits of IQF Diced Green Peppers
Convenience Pre-diced and ready-to-use, IQF diced green peppers save time and effort in meal preparation. Whether you're whipping up a quick stir-fry, a hearty soup, or a flavorful pasta dish, these peppers eliminate the need for washing, chopping, and waste disposal.
Nutritional Value Freezing green peppers at their peak ripeness ensures that their vitamins and minerals remain intact. Green peppers are an excellent source of vitamin C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, all of which contribute to a healthy immune system and digestion.
Extended Shelf Life Fresh green peppers can spoil quickly, especially if not stored properly. IQF diced green peppers, however, can be stored in the freezer for months without losing their quality. This extended shelf life reduces food waste and provides a reliable ingredient you can count on.
Consistent Quality Each batch of IQF diced green peppers offers consistency in size, color, and taste. This uniformity is especially important for foodservice providers who prioritize presentation and standardized recipes.
Culinary Applications
The versatility of IQF diced green peppers makes them a valuable addition to a variety of dishes:
Stir-Fries: Add a burst of color and crunch to your favorite stir-fry recipes.
Soups and Stews: Enhance the flavor profile of soups and stews with the subtle sweetness of green peppers.
Omelettes and Frittatas: Use them to create a vibrant breakfast or brunch dish.
Pizzas and Pastas: Sprinkle them on pizzas or toss them into pasta sauces for added texture and flavor.
Casseroles and Stuffed Peppers: Incorporate them into baked dishes for a delightful twist.
IQF Green Peppers and Sustainability
Choosing IQF diced green peppers is not only convenient but also a sustainable option. The freezing process reduces food waste by preserving surplus produce that might otherwise go unused. Additionally, the precise portioning of diced peppers minimizes kitchen waste, aligning with environmentally conscious practices.
Conclusion
IQF diced green peppers combine the best of freshness, convenience, and nutrition. Whether you're a home cook looking for quick meal solutions or a professional chef aiming for consistency in your dishes, these peppers deliver in every way. With their vibrant taste, extended shelf life, and versatility, IQF diced green peppers are a game-changer in the frozen produce aisle.

What’s your favorite thing to do with friends? _I love those times with friends where you go over to their house and just hang out all day. Cooking food, playing video games, going outside. Just being over at someone’s house and doing whatever you feel like doing. I like that same thing too, but with a lot of people. In my opinion there is nothing better than an all day bbq at someone’s house. A really cool fun house where you can be inside or outside and just do whatever you want all day. That is the best ever.
What’s your favorite dessert? _I freaking love ice cream.
Do you have a favorite quote or saying? _The first thing that comes to mind is, “I will not do business with anyone who doesn’t admit that they are a rascal.”
What’s your favorite type of music or band? _Pop rock
Do you have a favorite hobby or pastime? _I’m always doing art projects. Always. I was made to! I love it. My hands usually need to be creating something. Also lately though too I love playing video games on my boyfriend’s Switch. There is this game Disney Dreamlight Valley, I can’t get enough of it.
What’s your go-to comfort food? _Veggie burger, sweet potato fries, milkshake.
What’s your favorite season and why? _I love spring. When everything is vibrant and coming to life, it’s beautiful.
What’s your all-time favorite movie? -Dumb and Dumber
What’s your favorite way to spend a lazy day? _Art projects and video games haha duh!
What was your favorite music as a kid? _Pop music!
What’s a food you disliked as a kid but you like it now? _When I was little I didn’t like chocolate at all, I thought it was gross. I really like chocolate now though.
What is the first CD you ever owned? _I remember going to Media Play by the Southwest Plaza mall, around the year 2000, my mom let us each pick out a CD and I picked N*sync No Strings Attached :) that was my own first CD
Do you have any bizarre memories? _Yes. I will remember this for my whole life. Let me give you the spark notes version. *If this was all in my head, it felt very very very freaking real* I was 5, 6 years old. Laying in my bed in middle of the night. I slept with the door cracked open. From my pov lying in my bed, I could see the top of the stairs. I see this f*cking thing at the top of the stairs, like it’s crawling up them. It looked kind of human, but long and green and lanky, like a string bean. It crawled up the stairs slow, and was just looking at me with wide eyes. It just seemed curious. Curious, with like no sense of boundaries. It came into my room and up to my face and was just looking at me. Like it was fascinated with me and couldn’t figure me out. I was paralyzed. I was like out-of-body scared. I just went numb and was frozen. I didn’t scream or cry. I just remember pulling up the covers over my eyes even though I was terrified to move. I just covered my eyes. I feel like I blacked out after that because all I remember is covering my eyes and just praying for it to be over. Like I said, if that was all in my head, it was so real. And I was so little, so like how could my brain come up with something like that? Idk wtf that was, but it was so bizarre that it’s burned into my memories and I’ll always remember that.
What vacations do you remember taking when you were growing up? _We didn’t have a lot of money, so when we would go on vacation we would drive down to Colorado Springs and stay in a motel. When you’re little, that is like the coolest sh*t ever haha. Especially if the motel had a pool, and breakfast lol. There was fun stuff to do down there during the day, like parks and attractions that my parents would take us to. It was cool just to go somewhere different. Oh and we would go to South Dakota. It’s a long story about why we would go up there but basically we knew people up there, and we would go find fun, random stuff to do. It wasn’t until high school that I went on vacations with friends to the beach. All vacations are awesome, big or small. Also since I was little I’ve always gone camping with friends and family. I love camping.
What’s a smell that transports you back in time? _Cigarettes. They make me feel nostalgic, and warm, and full of love. I can’t explain it! The smell of cigarettes takes me back to when I was like 13, I started hanging out with smoker kids, and idk I guess I just felt happy. The smell of cigarette smoke psychologically takes me back to the first time I ever felt like I was falling in love with other people.
What were your favorite toys growing up?
