Next up after KL was the UNESCO Heritage town of George Town in Penang, which felt like it could’ve been a charming old Florida resort town... with, you know, a heavy Asian influence. Penang is well known for its food, and the home run for us was the laksa. Laksa is a super tasty and spicy noodle soup, and there were many restaurants around town that prepared a vegetarian version. It rivaled the Khao Soi from northern Thailand as one of the best new foods that we’ve discovered on the trip.

VEGAN FOOD ADVENTURES - KIKUBARI at DC Mall! I was looking for somewhere interesting in KL to celebrate my birthday and since I love Japanese food, we looked around to see where we could have Japanese vegan food. Since we saw that @spiritofdiyana had eaten at Nobu KL, we called up Nobu to see what they could offer us. After all, their menu online said that we could inform the serves of any dietary requirements. Unfortunately Nobu KL’s response was rather disappointing, they said they couldn’t tell us what vegan dishes could be offered and to just turn up on that day and the server would recommend something. Az had a long conversation with them and in the end we just gave up. 😔 I saw on Kikubari’s website this “We can accommodate some dietary restrictions within reason, due to the nature of the food we serve. Kindly let us know in advance of your visit and we will gladly do our best to fulfil your needs. “ Plus they had quite a number of plant-based ie vegetarian dishes clearly marked on their menu so I wrote to them asking whether they would veganise some of the dishes for us. They were quick to get back to me and also gave me a call to confirm what I could eat. Here’s what they recommended: 1. Enoki chips without gobo cream RM22 2. tofu ‘cheese’. house-made tsukemono. crackers RM36 3. nut butter roasted cauliflower. cauliflower cream. sage oil RM36 4. japanese fruit tomato and wakame salad. sherry dressing RM33 5. Grilled asparagus Thank you so much Chef Jun and team for accommodating our needs and big thanks to Restaurant Manager Hafriz for taking such good care of us. 🙏💚 . @kikubari.kl L3-01A, Jalan Damanlela, Damansara City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 03-2011 8200 . #veganjapanesefood #kikubari #japanesefood #japanesevegan (at Kikubari) https://www.instagram.com/p/B79_pjgpMl_/?igshid=l0othb1no9oa

And while that was a success, the continued experimentation wore her down to the point where she escaped Big MT and never looked back. Her escape involved her building herself a new prosthetic leg which was modified with a flamer and blasting her way out.
She eventually met up with Maxie in Freeside and the two travelled together for a time, helping him destroy Caesar’s Legion from within.
The two parted ways after a time but Evanna never forgot him. She eventually travelled towards the Commonwealth, setting herself up in Goodneighbor and taking the things she’d learned over her travels and turned it into her own personal workshop.
