Hello ! I positively adore the running joke of Idia unknowingly finding Lilia to be the coolest guy ever whenever he doesn't know it's him, like when Silver described his father, or obviously with muscle red. I can't say what'd be funnier, Idia finding out his online best friend is actually Lilia, resident spooky hyper fairy; or them both never finding out, and it'd become even more ridiculous as time goes on. How do you think it'll play out ? You're always so on point
(Also, though it makes sense, I'm still devastated bat boy didn't get a ticket for the Halloween skeleton train : ( does anyone mentions him at some point ? Like how he'd have fit right in with all those Halloween town little freaks, and how he'd have impressed them with his spooks and scared techniques; after all he's been every Briar Valley's children worst fear on Halloween for centuries. I'm on the eng server and I didn't wanna spoil myself by watching the whole thing on youtube)
Have a nice day !
you and me both, Idia and Lilia being oblivious online BFFs (+ Idia being incredibly intimidated any time Silver brings up his jock gamer dad) is my favorite running joke/subplot. 🤝 it's SO good, to the point where I also am unsure if I actually want it to ever be resolved or not...maybe, like, as a post-canon stinger or something? everyone's standing around covered in overblot ink, and Idia and Lilia's phones go off at the same time...
(legit I do think this is part of why Idia couldn't be present for Lilia's dream, because for some reason Lilia decided he was going to just. embody his past self online. he probably quotes his own battle strategies or whatever in the middle of boss fights. Idia didn't pick up on the whole "oh how weird that we both live on a super remote island" thing, but he would spend thirty seconds listening to General Lilia describing siege warfare and be like "w-wait")
all that aside, however it does end up happening, I do see Lilia being very blasé and all "oh! cool!" about it. y'know, taking it very much in stride! and Idia...very much not.
Tumblr media
(can't tell if tumblr is going to chew this into illegibility or not, this will be a fun surprise ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ)
as for Lilia sadly missing out on Halloweentown shenanigans...he does get one little mention as part of an offhand reference to the light music club, but so far no one has brought up how this basically is just Lost In the Book of Liliatown (Sebek's been too busy yelling about not getting to be in the same group as Malleus). 😔 honestly though, it's probably for the best that he got left out, because he would just settle right in and refuse to ever leave. canon would shatter. we would miss out on all the delightful angst of episode 7 because Lilia is too busy eating poisonous shrubbery inbetween practicing his very best screams, and no one can pull him away from it.
(I can hope for a sequel next year though...)
#art#twisted wonderland#twisted wonderland spoilers#gentle spoilers but y'know. just in case#lost in the book with nightmare before christmas#hajimari no halloween#most of the kitchen scene was jade messing with the firsties and that was so delightful that i didn't think til after#that you'd think sebek would have made some kind of reference to lilia 'i lost my tastebuds in the war' vanrouge's quote-unquote cooking#ah well. jade being mean is more than entertaining enough#looking forward to more of it tomorrow!#god. lilia and idia though.#lilia is like. genuinely idia's best friend and neither of them have any idea#and idia keeps doing that 'ha ha what if we were friends out of game too? what if we met offline? jk jk jk uNLESS...👉👈'#and then he immediately chickens out because he's so convinced that crimson will hate him if they ever met irl#(meanwhile lilia is just like 'my online bestie is so cool :) la la la')#they are both so stupid and i love them so much#i've just realized that i actually do want them to find out each other's identities#because idia doesn't just go to school with his online bff#he ALSO goes to school with his online bff's extremely supportive and extremely socially-inept kids#idia is going to get invited to dinner at diasomnia and it's going to be SO awkward#silver is going to give a long formal speech thanking him for being a stalwart comrade and trusted warrior brother to his father#as sebek stews in jealousy that idia got to fight by lilia-sama's side >:(#while idia sits there like 'all i did was link him a video about lane control for his character class'#malleus will make such an effort to learn literally anything about online gaming and he won't understand a word of it#it will be SUCH a disaster and i very much do want it now

I need a completely rewritten teen wolf series with Derek Hale as the main character. I think it would heal me.
#we follow Derek from New York. Laura left for beacon hills. it’s been six years since he was back but he hasn’t heard from her#and hes going stir crazy waiting. he packs up and travels back. it’s almost too much immediately. he still can’t get a hold of Laura#he can’t resist going home. it’s like a natural pull that guides him back. all at once he’s 16 again. staring at the wreckage of his life#deputy stilinski is sherrif now. it’s reassuring in the slightest that the police force seems to have moved on from how corrupt it was#he catches her scent and it’s putrid. bile catches in his throat. he seeks it out. still in denial to what he knows it means.#when he finds Laura it’s like the world ends all over again. he can’t stand to see her like this. he gives her a proper burial.#the best he can do at least#he visits Peter. he’s not the man Derek remembers- so full of fire and cunning. their relationship may have been strained at times.#often Derek felt more like Eve being swayed by the snake than a normal friendship#but this isn’t the sharp tongued uncle who guided him. this is a broken shell. all that remained of his family. he was so lost.#22 but he barely knew how to function without his family- his pack paving the way#Laura handled everything. she got the apartment. she made sure they had food. Derek looks back and feels so useless#he was so lost in his grief. Laura must of felt the same way but she never let them drown in it#she made sure he got his GED. even got him to enroll in community college classes.#he took them online. he never was able to warm up to people the same way. he used to be so full of life. now he just wanted to be left alone#he studied English. never finished his degree. doesn’t look like he ever will now. he can’t go back to Laura and his shared home.#can’t bare to see another shell of a home#he vents to the vacant audience of Peter and his cold fixed eyes#Derek leaves. he wants to promise he’ll return soon#but promises feel costly these days#he decides to go back to the reserve. maybe he can find some clue as to what happened to Laura#someone lured her here. someone who knew them and their history here#his mind went to the worst. Kate. why would she go through the trouble six years later. why wait so long.#Derek couldn’t stomach the thought of facing her. he focused on the woods. the scents were all over the place.#clearly multiple people had been through here recently. two scents were much stronger. Derek follows them#but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here#he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention#he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves.#he comes out once theyre closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods#he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

Why are you not supposed to show your face online?
-?
personal safety. i forget exactly what they said in the online safety classes they made you (me) take in elementary school, but its for the same reason you're not supposed to share your full name (or any name at all! make up a name and stick with it, or hey, its the internet, lie about your name and your age and say you're a math major from connecticut named matt, or something! i ain't gonna stop you! have fun with it!) and address and social security number. so people can't track you down and kidnap you or other horrible things.
In general its just like. don't share information someone could use to identify you online, because people are weird and some of them are shitty and if you say something and they don't like it, and if they can find you or identify you then thats not good!

Advanced C Programming: Mastering the Language
Introduction
Advanced C programming is essential for developers looking to deepen their understanding of the language and tackle complex programming challenges. While the basics of C provide a solid foundation, mastering advanced concepts can significantly enhance your ability to write efficient, high-performance code.
1. Overview of Advanced C Programming
Advanced C programming builds on the fundamentals, introducing concepts that enhance efficiency, performance, and code organization. This stage of learning empowers programmers to write more sophisticated applications and prepares them for roles that demand a high level of proficiency in C.
2. Pointers and Memory Management
Mastering pointers and dynamic memory management is crucial for advanced C programming, as they allow for efficient use of resources. Pointers enable direct access to memory locations, which is essential for tasks such as dynamic array allocation and manipulating data structures. Understanding how to allocate, reallocate, and free memory using functions like malloc, calloc, realloc, and free can help avoid memory leaks and ensure optimal resource management.
3. Data Structures in C
Understanding advanced data structures, such as linked lists, trees, and hash tables, is key to optimizing algorithms and managing data effectively. These structures allow developers to store and manipulate data in ways that improve performance and scalability. For example, linked lists provide flexibility in data storage, while binary trees enable efficient searching and sorting operations.
4. File Handling Techniques
Advanced file handling techniques enable developers to manipulate data efficiently, allowing for the creation of robust applications that interact with the file system. Mastering functions like fopen, fread, fwrite, and fclose helps you read from and write to files, handle binary data, and manage different file modes. Understanding error handling during file operations is also critical for building resilient applications.
5. Multithreading and Concurrency
Implementing multithreading and managing concurrency are essential skills for developing high-performance applications in C. Utilizing libraries such as POSIX threads (pthreads) allows you to create and manage multiple threads within a single process. This capability can significantly enhance the performance of I/O-bound or CPU-bound applications by enabling parallel processing.
6. Advanced C Standard Library Functions
Leveraging advanced functions from the C Standard Library can simplify complex tasks and improve code efficiency. Functions for string manipulation, mathematical computations, and memory management are just a few examples. Familiarizing yourself with these functions not only saves time but also helps you write cleaner, more efficient code.
7. Debugging and Optimization Techniques
Effective debugging and optimization techniques are critical for refining code and enhancing performance in advanced C programming. Tools like GDB (GNU Debugger) help track down bugs and analyze program behavior. Additionally, understanding compiler optimizations and using profiling tools can identify bottlenecks in your code, leading to improved performance.

Whumpers, what are your earliest memories?
Mine is from when I was about two or three. I was in a stroller, at my cousin’s Irish dancing recital. After the recital, my aunts were talking down to me in the stroller, and to each other. I was experiencing extreme anxiety because I couldn’t understand what they were saying, when I felt I should have been able to communicate with them like they were communicating with each other. I was also very tired and dazed. I did not cry though… I probably looked normal on the outside.
I also remember when I was about four or five, I went to the beach with my dad and one of his friends. I somehow found my way onto the dock, planted my little rear end on a jet ski, untethered it from the dock, and started floating into the sunset. There was an old lady lounging in a donut inflatable out some way; she said something to me, but I couldn’t understand what she said, despite trying really hard. I’m assuming it was something along the lines of “Oh my god get off that jet ski you’re going to fucking DIE, kid,” but again… couldn’t understand a word of what she said, and got frustrated because she was speaking English (without an accent) and I should know how to understand adults speaking English to me.
At this point, my dad is yelling at me from across the water, and a young lifeguard drags the jet ski back. On land, my dad lectured at me very harshly as he led me back to the car. I didn’t know I had done anything wrong, and was very confused. At some point this guy starts quoting the Bible at me, and the only thing I could pick out were the words (spoken very emphatically), “Your days are numbered.”
“My days are numbered?” cue a vivid mental image of a calendar, with dates listed for every day of the week, “What does that mean?” Later on I figured out this was the Bible’s way of referencing death at God’s hand which just made me even more confused as to what I did, until at age thirteen, I figured out, “Oh a baby who can’t swim floating on a jet ski is terrifying, actually.”

#tag game lol#I had a thing with not understanding people very well (or at all) as a child idk if that’s normal kid stuff or what lol#Like you know how in dreams people’s speech is a blur? That was how I (mostly) interacted with the world from ages two to six#My best friend at the time would talk to me a lot (she was a couple years younger) and she was still partly in the “babbling” phase#and couldn’t speak clearly at all#so I just kind of nodded and went along with it despite having no idea what the hell she just said#Which I continued to do with everyone else into adulthood; as soon as someone talks to me I zone out whether I want to or not lol#My life has been a perpetual cycle of: “Why can’t I do that; am I stupid or something?” > studying it intensely > excelling at it#Like humor. No one laughed at my jokes in my first year of public school; so I watched what made people tick…#By the time junior year online English class rolled around I had the teachers and students in stitches almost constantly#Likewise with understanding people: I zone out all the time; but I can quickly replay what I heard in my head and ask a question to verify#if that’s what they said; then give an appropriate response to it#Basically I repeat 70% of what people say to me during conversation to make sure I’m not missing anything#As a result I’m now pretty good at figuring out what people are saying if there are language barriers or speech abnormalities involved#But do NOT give me verbal directions; I can and will forget them the instant you walk away

Website: https://www.debbiedeane.com/
Address: Brooklyn, New York, USA
Debbie Deane hails from a musical world without boundaries, where singer-songwriters and top-tier jazz musicians breathe the same creative air. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Debbie grew up listening to Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, and Steely Dan. As a teenager she explored the fertile ground of the Great American Songbook. Introduced to folk, funk and fusion by her older brother, she studied the great divas of the jazz and pop worlds developing an intense interest in jazz harmony. Music was the ultimate refuge.
After earning a degree in English Literature from Harvard, Debbie embarked on a career in music. She studied jazz intensively at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, honing the piano skills that she continues to display as a singer-songwriter. At first her songwriting and singing came as an afterthought, but then took center stage.
In her performing and recording life, Debbie had the good fortune to work with  acclaimed jazz musicians who share her interest in quality songwriting — people like drummer Brian Blade and the late, great bass player Jeff Andrews.  Moving back to Brooklyn, she lived in a ""jazz den"" with some of the city’s most promising jazz musicians, including saxophonists Seamus Blake and Terry Deane, drummer Marc Miralta and pianists John Stetch and George Colligan. ""Everyone came through our place,"" says Debbie. ""The people I’ve played with, they’re all my friends and they’ve known me, they’ve been my roommates and people I went to school with."" Their presence on Debbie’s recordings and at her live shows is a powerful endorsement.
Debbie continues to gig extensively in New York and beyond.
Piano Lessons:
Debbie Deane has been a piano teacher for over 20 years. She teaches out of her home in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, specializing in kids ages 6 and up.
She teaches the fundamentals and basics - scales, reading music, music theory, and playing by ear. Her students play a lot of songs. Each student is different, and she tailors lessons accordingly. As a result, she teaches all styles of music. She does have a soft spot for Bach and Beethoven, so everyone has to try classical, which is great for technique.

Last, but not least!
Group 6: Boosting Student Motivation - Bola & Marie
Bola and Marie wrapped up our student-led presentations with a bang! Their presentation covered some tools to make our classrooms more engaging that made educational use of popular technology applications. From Duolingo to Minecraft, they expertly showed us how to make applications work for us in the education system, which again aligns with the Five Pillars of Online Pedagogy, which calls upon us to allow students to develop mastery of tools and use what they know to demonstrate learning.
I often do not like breakout rooms. Forced discussions often end up with me doing most of the work, usually as the only one with their video and audio on. It is more isolating than collaborating. However, the breakout room I was in was likely the most helpful group I have had yet. We were tasked with discussing Duolingo, and I expressed that my knowledge extended only so far as my kids' obsession with maintaining their streak. This opened the dialogue for others to share that they did not use it, and they asked questions about my children. I shared that it is motivating; they like to compete, and most of our family fights are over, one or more needing to “Save my Streak!!!!” precisely at bedtime. A classmate asked if I had noticed an improvement in oral language acquisition, and I shared a story with them. My wife has taken our kids to her school, where someone who speaks Spanish would be. She thought they could try out their knowledge, and while they were great at their “canned” phrases, moving beyond the common conversational phrases was unsuccessful. The learning extended as far as knowledge about words and memorized phrases. A classmate shared that his friend was obsessed with the platform and had a streak 4 times the length the streak my kids had, and said he also had limited ability in open dialogue format. Fun fact: when I shared this with my teenage son, he vehemently denied it and said he could speak fluently to anyone. I laughed. Not my best parenting moment, but honestly, his viewpoint is inaccurate.
We took our discussion back to the larger class, and we all echoed the same sentiment. These tools are great as additional educational components but cannot replace learning. They are great for precisely the topic of this presentation - Boosting Student Motivation. They cannot take the place of education.

Supporting your Child’s Reading Journey with the Magic of Phonics
Phonics plays a central role in how children learn to read. If you have a young reader at home, you might recall the excitement when they first started learning letters or the pride you felt when they successfully sounded out their first word. It’s truly like watching an entirely new world unfold before their eyes.
Once children are familiar with the alphabet and the sounds associated with each letter, they can start using those skills to read words and simple sentences. Establishing strong phonics skills early on is crucial in helping your child become a confident, independent reader.
What is Phonics?
Phonics is the system where letters represent sounds in spoken language. Think of words and sentences as a kind of code. When reading, you're essentially breaking that code by connecting letters to their corresponding sounds, allowing you to decode words. This process of decoding is at the heart of phonics.
Why is Phonics important?
Phonics is one of the most effective methods for teaching kids how to read. It equips them with the tools to decode almost every word they encounter. Mastering phonics provides a significant payoff, as the more success children have in reading words through phonics, the more capable and confident they become in their reading abilities.
How do Children learn Phonics?
Phonics is most effective when taught systematically, starting with the basics and gradually progressing to more complex concepts. For most children, phonics education begins in kindergarten and is typically completed by the end of second grade. Here’s a quick breakdown of how phonics learning progresses year by year:
Kindergarten - This year is all about discovering how letters and sounds work together. Children learn to recognize the alphabet and differentiate individual sounds in words. When they begin matching letters to sounds, they are starting their phonics journey. By the end of kindergarten, your child will be able to sound out simple words like "cat" or "bed."
First Grade - This is a pivotal year for reading development, with phonics taking centre stage. Your child will move from reading simple words like "bat" to more complex words with long vowel sounds like "shake" and words with vowel combinations such as "train." By the end of first grade, your child will be reading one-syllable and even some two-syllable words, like "picnic" or "rocket."
Second Grade - In second grade, children continue to grow as readers, building on first-grade phonics skills while learning to tackle more advanced words, such as "rainbow" or "suddenly." They will also learn to break down longer words into syllables and understand prefixes and suffixes.
Easy Ways to Support your Child
Find opportunities to explore letters, sounds and words - When you’re out driving or at the store, encourage your child to look for letters or words. For example, ask them to find the letter their name begins with or decode simple words like "pet" or "stop."
Provide a variety of reading materials at home - Keep easy readers within reach, as these are specifically designed to match the reading level of beginning readers. You can find many of these books at your local library.
Offer plenty of encouragement and support - Stay involved in your child’s reading journey by keeping reading sessions positive and relaxed. Praise their efforts and don’t hesitate to step in with help when needed, especially if they feel frustrated.
Continue reading aloud and enjoying books together: Reading your child’s favourite picture books or starting a chapter book at night keeps the fun alive. This shared experience is a powerful motivator for children as they work toward reading independently.
At Little Genius, we offer a specialised phonetics class for kids. Visit our website to learn more about our courses and how they can benefit your child’s reading development. https://littlegeniusacademy.co.in/

Phonics Games Online: Enhancing Learning for Young Minds
Tumblr media
Phonics is the building block of early literacy, where children learn the relationship between sounds and letters. Through engaging and interactive methods, phonics instruction makes reading more accessible and enjoyable. With the rise of digital learning, phonics games online have become an essential tool for parents and educators alike, offering a dynamic way to help children master this vital skill. From matching sounds with letters to decoding simple words, these games are designed to reinforce phonics learning in a fun, engaging, and interactive manner.
Why Are Phonics Games Online So Effective?
The shift toward digital learning has made online resources more crucial than ever before. Online phonics games tap into children's natural love for play, making learning less of a chore and more of an adventure. Here’s why they are so effective:
Interactive and Engaging: Children are naturally curious, and online phonics games allow them to explore and learn in an interactive way. Whether it’s matching sounds with letters or finding hidden words, these games keep their attention while reinforcing core phonics skills.
Immediate Feedback: Unlike traditional learning methods, phonics games provide instant feedback, allowing children to correct their mistakes on the spot and improve their understanding in real-time.
Adaptive Learning: Many online phonics platforms adjust the difficulty based on the child’s progress, ensuring that they are continually challenged without becoming overwhelmed.
Multisensory Approach: Online phonics games engage multiple senses—sight, sound, and sometimes even touch (for touch-screen devices). This multisensory learning helps solidify the connection between letters and sounds.
Convenience: With phonics games online, children can practice anywhere and anytime. Parents can easily integrate these games into their child’s routine, making learning accessible and flexible.
Phonics Lessons for Kindergarten: The Foundation of Literacy
Phonics is an essential part of early education, especially for kindergarteners who are just beginning their reading journey. Phonics lessons for kindergarten focus on teaching children the sounds associated with letters and how to blend these sounds to form words.
These lessons typically include:
Letter-Sound Correspondence: This is the first step in phonics instruction, where children learn the sounds that each letter makes. Activities may include flashcards, songs, or games that emphasize the relationship between letters and their corresponding sounds.
Blending Sounds: After learning individual letter sounds, children move on to blending these sounds together to form words. For example, blending the sounds /c/, /a/, and /t/ to say "cat."
Segmenting Words: Segmenting is the opposite of blending. Here, children break words down into individual sounds. For example, the word "dog" would be broken down into /d/, /o/, and /g/. This skill helps in both reading and spelling.
Sight Words: Phonics lessons also incorporate sight words—words that children must recognize without having to sound them out. Examples include words like "the," "and," and "is." These words often don’t follow regular phonics rules, so they are taught through repetition and memorization.
Phonics lessons for kindergarten are designed to be playful and engaging. Teachers often use songs, rhymes, and games to make learning fun while ensuring children grasp the fundamental concepts of phonics.
Phonics Activities for Kindergarten: Making Learning Fun
To support phonics lessons, educators and parents use various phonics activities for kindergarten that are fun, hands-on, and interactive. Here are some popular phonics activities that can help children practice and reinforce their skills:
Phonics Puzzles: Matching pictures to words, or letters to sounds, can be an excellent way for children to practice phonics. Puzzles are a tactile, hands-on way to reinforce the connection between letters and sounds.
Phonics Bingo: A classic game with a phonics twist! Instead of numbers, Bingo cards can feature letters, sounds, or simple words. This activity encourages listening and word recognition.
Sound Hunts: In this activity, children hunt for objects around the house or classroom that start with a specific sound. For example, if the target sound is "b," they might find a book, a ball, or a bag.
Rhyming Games: Rhyming is an important phonological skill. Games that focus on finding words that rhyme (like "cat" and "bat") can help children develop their phonemic awareness.
Word Building with Magnetic Letters: Using magnetic letters, children can practice building words on a magnetic board. They can start by making simple CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words like "dog" or "hat," and then move on to more complex words.
Storytime Phonics: Reading stories aloud and focusing on specific phonics sounds is another great activity. Encourage children to listen for certain sounds in the story, or to predict what letter or sound a word will start with.
Phonics activities for kindergarten are designed to reinforce the skills taught in phonics lessons while making learning a fun, hands-on experience.
Online Phonics Classes: Learning Anytime, Anywhere
As education becomes more digitized, online phonics classes have emerged as an excellent resource for parents who want to support their child's literacy development. These classes often feature a structured curriculum that includes videos, games, interactive lessons, and live sessions with instructors.
Online phonics classes provide:
Flexible Learning: With online classes, children can learn at their own pace. Whether they need extra time to practice certain sounds or are ready to move ahead, the flexibility of online learning allows for a personalized experience.
Interactive Content: Online phonics programs often include games, videos, and quizzes that keep children engaged and make learning fun. These interactive elements ensure that children stay motivated and interested in the lessons.
Live Instructor Support: Many online phonics classes also offer live sessions with trained instructors. This personal interaction allows children to ask questions, receive feedback, and build a connection with their teacher.
Trackable Progress: Parents can monitor their child's progress through reports and updates, helping them understand where their child excels and where they may need extra help.
A top provider of online phonics classes is Kiya Learning, which offers a wide range of phonics programs designed for different age groups and skill levels. With a focus on making learning enjoyable and effective, Kiya Learning has become a trusted resource for parents around the world.
