Value your life, the best of us pay the highest price for it
Denys Zelenyi, a soldier of the Bureviy National Guard Brigade, died at the front yesterday.
He used to work as a manager at the Honey confectionery chain. You may remember him from the video "Do you spik paskas [bake Easter bread]?" that went viral.
2021:
- Do you bake Easter bread?
- Yes, I bake!
2022:
- Do you bake Easter bread?
- Yes, I bake and russians too.
2023:
We baked, are baking, and will continue to bake.
2024:
I'm baking, dear, I'm baking!
That's how he will be remembered for his humor. He left behind a lot of beauty in our history.
Denys Zelenyi is also the author of the famous photo of Serebryanyi Forest, where fierce fighting is taking place.
You could remember it from posts comparison to burning down forests in France in the period of World War I.
Eternal honor to the fallen hero.
A very cool guy died today. A warrior, a confectioner, a psychologist, a pro.
Denys Zelenyi. We have known each other since the days of the Military Institute, when we studied at the university.
He knew how to support people. He knew how to inspire. He knew how to give strength.
Denys served in the Bureviy unit of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Queen Rania’s Interview with ABC News’ Linsey Davis on 24 September 2024
youtube
Linsey Davis: Your Majesty, we thank you so much for talking with us and giving us this time today. Really appreciate it. We are now, as you know, just a few days away from marking one year since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. At least 41,000 Palestinians have died, thousands of them children, an estimated 100 hostages who still remain in Gaza at this point. I know that you have said that the downtrodden and persecuted don't need a change of mind, you said they need a change in circumstances. In your estimation, who or what can best bring about that change in circumstance?
Queen Rania: Well, first of all, thank you for having me here. You know this war has been unprecedented in its scale and brutality. Gaza, which is a third of the size of New York, has been hit with more explosives than Dresden, Hamburg, and London combined throughout World War II. So we have the highest death rate of any conflict this century, and 70% of those killed are women and children.
Gaza is breaking all sorts of records in all the worst ways: The highest rate of starvation… we have the highest cohort of child amputees, the highest level of civilian infrastructure destruction. Two of three buildings have been destroyed, most schools and hospitals, every single university. In this war, there have been more children, journalists, aid workers, and medical personnel killed than any other war. So this is not a defensive war or a normal kind of war.
Every country has a right to defend itself. But what we seeing here is truly an indiscriminate killing spree that's taking place. And we are coming close to the first anniversary of October 7, and we've said from day one, the killing of civilians is wrong. But the response to October 7 is not justifiable. What we're seeing today is a breaking of international law, and we are setting a new precedent in our world.
And so it sometimes feels like the world is operating from two different playbooks. Israeli pain is validated, whereas Palestinian pain is normalized, even justified. It sometimes seems that Israel is the exception to every rule that governs our world, and Palestinians are the exception to universal human rights. And the reason why we have gotten to this point is because the world has failed. There has been no global response that withdrew support from Israel, or applied sanctions, or put any costs and consequences to the origin of this problem, which is the illegal occupation.
So, when a country is able to get away with so much, Israel has become emboldened to break more legal and moral boundaries. And impunity never corrects itself. It just grows through complacency. And what we're seeing here is beyond complacency. You know, when a red line is not really a red line, it becomes a green light. It becomes permission, and Palestinians have been paying the highest price for that “permission” to break all norms. And it has really dangerous implications for our world, because we're setting a new standard, a new precedent, a new normal.
Are we saying that it is okay to use starvation as a weapon of war? To target aid convoys, to target shelters that house civilians, to use collective punishment? What is this saying about our world today? If we are undermining the rule of law, then can we really hold any other country accountable for its actions? If we are criticizing Russia for its conduct in Ukraine, why are we turning a blind eye to what's happening, which is even much worse?
Linsey Davis: You have said that the global community has dragged its feet, and as you well know, some of the most powerful people in the world are gathered here in New York this week for the UN General Assembly. What do you think is the appropriate response for these world leaders, and, specifically, the role of the United States?
Queen Rania: Well, look, as I said, Israel seems to be scaling up rather than scaling down. And while the war was being conducted in Gaza, we've seen a ramp-up of activities and violence in the West Bank, where Hamas are not in the West Bank. So you know, months of killing, raids, mass arrests, and violence by illegal armed settlers under the protection of the Israeli army, have led to the highest level of violence in the West Bank in the last 20 years.
And Israel is using the same playbook in the West Bank as it is in Gaza: destroying infrastructure, and cutting off access to electricity, food, and water. And many are seeing in this approach just another step in Israel's decades-long strategy of completely dominating the West Bank, of its expansionist settlement policy: make life as miserable as possible for people in the West Bank, drive them out, and then move into their homes and territory.
And now what we're seeing in Lebanon is another dangerous escalation. The risk of a regional escalation is now dangerously high. Yesterday was the deadliest day, where almost 500 Lebanese have been killed. In the past year, we saw 600 being killed.
A tit-for-tat violence between Hezbollah and Israel is not new in our region. And historically, they've kept the rules of engagement such as they left the confrontation within a certain threshold to avoid an open war. Hezbollah, from day one, as well as Iran, has made it clear they did not want to cross this threshold. And we saw in Iran's response when their diplomats were assassinated in Syria – they responded, and then they said that this was going to be it. Hezbollah said the same thing, that they did not want an open war. However, I think Israel's calculations are slightly different. They seem to want to escalate and are using Iran as a pretext. Iran – I'm not a defender of Iran's policies or what their plans are in the region. But October 7 was not caused because of Iran, and this particular conflict is as a result of an illegal occupation and oppression that has continued for six decades. It's not just about Iran.
However, Israel seems to be ramping up, and I think part of the reason is Netanyahu’s own political calculations, because of his own situation. He's also probably overcompensating for what was a failure on October 7, a security failure on his side. And therefore, he's trying to appeal to the most extreme elements in his government. And frankly, he's doing it because he can get away with it.
Linsey Davis: Well, how concerned are you, based on Lebanon, again, seeing its deadliest day since 2006 that this may lead to a wider war in the region, and what can be done to prevent it, specifically on behalf of the United States?
Queen Rania: Well, look, I am very worried about what's happening, and I think today, we're much closer to a regional war than we have been in the past year. And I think it is time for the global community to act, specifically the U.S.
I think the expressions of concern or even calls for a ceasefire really are meaningless when you continue to provide arms that kill civilians. The answer is never more arms; that only leads to more violence and more escalation. And America's support, the blanket support that's provided for Israel, has exceeded any reasonable political calculus. The U.S. has military, economic, and diplomatic leverage that it can use with Israel, and it should start exercising that. Not just because it's the right thing to do, not just because you have to uphold international law, but because this is one of the highest rates of killing that we've seen in this century, and because the dangers of escalation are extremely high right now.
And nobody, let me be very clear, nobody wins from such an escalation. Nobody's teaching anybody a lesson. So, I think it's enough of this bravado and chest thumping and bully talk like children in a playground that we're going to teach you a lesson.
If Israel was to achieve its objectives, even if it was to kill every last Hamas fighter, every last Hezbollah fighter, how long will that keep Israel safe? As long as there is an illegal, crushing occupation, as long as people are denied their basic human rights, their freedoms, then there will always be resistance. And nowadays, with modern technology, with AI, with communication tools, it won't take very long for people to regroup and resist again. And the only way to really bring security to the region, to the people of Israel, to Jewish people all over the world who are sometimes unfairly being held responsible for the actions of this government, is through a just and comprehensive peace deal that really addresses and gives rights to both sides.
Linsey Davis: How much culpability do you think that Hamas has with regard to what's happening in Gaza right now?
Queen Rania: Well, October 7 was carried out by Hamas, but the people who are paying the price are innocent civilians. Like I said, you know, the 41,000 who have been killed, the vast majority of them are women and children.
Linsey Davis: But there are people who will say that's because Hamas is hiding out in hospitals, in schools and shelters, right?
Queen Rania: First of all, you know the human shield argument, I think the numbers defy that argument. The death toll, which is wildly disproportionate, it just cannot be explained or rationalized. And as you know, Gaza is one of the most densely populated places in the world, so anywhere that Hamas is going to be, by default, there's going to be civilians there. And even if you know that an operative is there, if you are sure that there are going to be civilians there, then it's illegal to target those places.
And when we talk about human shields, it is standard operating procedure by the Israelis - and we've seen it time and again - when they do raids, they take civilians, Palestinian civilians. I've just seen it recently, where they shot a Palestinian, strapped him to the hood of their car, and drove through Palestinian cities. This is happening all the time, but they never talk about the human shields there. So again, the root cause of this conflict…This conflict did not start on October 7. I feel like it's strange that I have to keep reminding people of this. This is not just about Hamas or October 7. If Hamas was to disappear tomorrow, this conflict would continue. You know, this conflict long predates Hamas and will likely outlive it.
Linsey Davis: And so what is the way forward? Obviously, you support a two-state solution, but in the meantime, what happens to the Palestinian people? What do they do? I mean, even if the ceasefire were over today, they're living in cities that need to be rebuilt entirely.
Queen Rania: I think the number one step now is to try to get an immediate ceasefire. And the reason that we're not reaching that is because, clearly, the Prime Minister of Israel has been buying time. Every time the two sides are close to an agreement, he throws in a new set of conditions or last-minute obstacles. So we need to stop the fighting immediately, and that will deescalate the Lebanon front, every other front.
And then the world community really needs to address the cause of this issue. And in the past, peace talks have failed, because we use the same equation. There were never any costs or consequences to dis-incentivize the occupation, so Israel just felt emboldened to build more settlements, to grab more land. There was never any effort to uphold international law. So I feel if we need to approach the peace process, we need to have a set of parameters or foundations that we can all agree on, and where these can be the starting point. Otherwise, peace will remain elusive and we’ll only reach another dead and deadly end.
So, for example, the starting point should be upholding the international law without exceptions. There can be negotiations and compromises, as is the case of any peace deal. But the departure point, the floor that needs to be set should be international law. Second, human rights are universal. They don't need to be negotiated or earned. Both Palestinians and Israelis have the right to peace and security and self-determination, regardless of which side is more powerful. Third, security is not a zero-sum game. For the longest time, Israelis have been trying to safeguard their own security by denying Palestinians the same. Neither side's insecurity serves the other, it just reinforces the cycle of retaliation and repression. The only way out of that is for both sides to have peace. And fourth, accountability – there can never be justice without accountability. When a nation does something wrong, it needs to be faced with repercussions, not exceptions. And lastly, we cannot be held hostage to the voices on the extreme, voices that are applauding starvation and displacement, that encourage collective punishment, that defend the indefensible, that justify the unjustifiable. We cannot be led by those forces.
If we can agree on those five principles as a starting point, then we can reach a situation where we can find a just peace in our region. And I am just saying that security measures, more war, more weapons are not the answer. The international community needs to come and decide…They have a decision to make: either we prove that the law stands above politics and power, or they have to admit that in this so-called rules-based world order, the rules only apply to the weak. And that's a decision for the international community to make.
Linsey Davis: I have so many more questions, but unfortunately, we're out of time. I thank you so much for taking the time to talk.
Queen Rania: Thank you so much it was a pleasure. Thank you.

It’s the prices (NYT) The United States spends an average of about $13,000 per person every year on health care. No other country comes close to spending so much. The runner-up, Germany, spends about $7,400 per person. What do Americans get for all this spending? Our health care system does tend to produce more innovation than many others. But much of the spending does little to improve people’s lives. Despite all our spending, the U.S. has the lowest life expectancy of any high-income country, at 79.3 years. Twenty years ago, a group of researchers—Gerard Anderson, Uwe Reinhardt, Peter Hussey and Varduhi Petrosyan—published an academic paper that tried to solve the mystery. The title told the story: “It’s the prices, stupid.” The main reason that U.S. health spending is so high is not that Americans are sicker than people elsewhere or are heavier users of medical care (although both those factors play a role). The main reason is that almost every form of care in the U.S. costs more: doctor’s visits, hospital stays, drug prescriptions, surgeries and more. The American health care system maximizes the profits of health care companies at the expense of families’ budgets.
Nicaragua takes on Miss Universe (Washington Post) As Nicaragua has marched steadily toward dictatorship in recent years, its government has attacked opposition politicians, the Catholic Church, journalists and universities. Now it’s going after the beauty queens. Just when authorities appeared to have squelched all forms of dissent, a willowy 23-year-old Nicaraguan, Sheynnis Palacios, won the Miss Universe pageant on Nov. 18. People poured into the streets of the Central American country in jubilation. The government initially praised the victory—then photos emerged of Palacios taking part in mass anti-government protests in 2018, which were eventually crushed by security forces. The government struck back by attacking the country’s Miss Universe franchise, accusing the family that runs it of “conspiring against the nation.”
UK needs new plan to reverse hit to living standards, researchers say (Reuters) Britain needs a new economic strategy to reverse 15 years of falling living standards and worsening inequality, a leading think tank and an academic research centre said on Monday. British productivity growth has been half that of other rich economies, costing workers an average of 10,700 pounds ($13,577) a year in lost pay, the Resolution Foundation and the London School of Economics’ Centre for Economic Performance said.
Ukrainians in Germany Weigh Wrenching Choice: Stay or Go Home (NYT) Since fleeing Ukraine with her daughter, Iryna Khomich has made a home of a tiny space in a village of prefabricated units in southwestern Germany. A full tour of its single room takes only a few moments: an iron bunk bed and a wardrobe, shoes scattered near the door, clothes drying on radiators. On one recent afternoon, her cat, Dimka, walked in and out, while her daughter, Sofiia, 8, read a German textbook at a desk. But like other displaced Ukrainians who fled west to wait out the war against Russia, Ms. Khomich, 37, lives each day wrestling with an agonizing choice: Should she return home to Ukraine, where the fighting drags on interminably, or put down roots in Germany, effectively turning a temporary separation into something more lasting? It is a cruel dilemma faced by countless Ukrainian refugees scattered across Europe as the war nears the end of its second year, one that pits a longing for family and a sense of shared duty to rebuild their shattered country against the realization that the death and destruction are unlikely to end anytime soon. And they are debating it in places like Freiburg, a city nestled on the edge of the Black Forest close to the French border that has offered open arms, an extensive social safety net and the attractive promise of a life without war. “The heart says go back,” Ms. Khomich said. “But I want the best future for my daughter.”
Temperatures in Siberia dip to minus 50 Celsius as record snow blankets Moscow (Reuters) Temperatures in parts of Siberia plummeted to minus 50 degrees Celsius (minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit) while blizzards blanketed Moscow in record snowfall and disrupted flights as winter weather swept across Russia. In the Sakha Republic, located in the northeastern part of Siberia and home to Yakutsk, one of the world’s coldest cities, temperatures fell below minus 50 C, according to the region’s weather stations. An abnormally early cold snap in Sakha pushed temperatures to even lower than minus 50 C in several areas of Sakha, a vast region just a little smaller than India.
India’s mission to clean the Ganges (Wired) The Ganges River in India supplies water to over 600 million people, and every inch of the waterway is sacred to the Hindu religion—so holy, in fact that many Hindus drink or bathe in its waters. Unfortunately, the Ganges is also one of the most polluted major rivers on our planet, playing host to tons of industrial waste, agricultural runoff, and too much human waste to quantify. India’s government has, of course, taken a variety of different measures to clean up the holy river. Between 2014 (when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power) and 2019, the government has provided Indians with 110 million toilets, providing sanitation services to over half a billion people nationwide. At the same time, the government has rolled out the Namami Gange (“Obeisance to the Ganges”), spending $3.77 billion to clean up the river by setting up over 170 new sanitation plants and 5,211 kilometers of sewage lines nationwide. However, experts say that all that government spending isn't making much of a dent in the Ganges’ grime. The river is still filled with islands of plastic waste, and parts of the Ganges contain over 20 times the government-recommended limits for fecal coliform and fecal streptococci bacteria.
China's military: US Navy ship 'illegally' entered territorial waters (Reuters) China's military on Monday said a U.S. Navy ship illegally entered waters adjacent to the Second Thomas Shoal, a disputed South China Sea atoll that has recently seen several maritime confrontations. "The U.S. seriously undermined regional peace and stability," a spokesperson for China's Southern Theater of Operations said in a statement, adding that the U.S. disrupted the South China Sea and violated China's sovereignty. The U.S. Navy said the USS Gabrielle Giffords, an Independence-class littoral combat ship, was conducting routine operations in international waters in the South China Sea, consistent with international law. The Second Thomas Shoal lies in the Philippines' exclusive economic zone, according to an United Nations tribunal ruling in 2016. The Chinese military spokesperson said the U.S. ship was monitored and followed, and that China's "troops in the theater are on high alert at all times to resolutely defend national sovereignty".
Islamic State claims deadly blast at Catholic Mass in the Philippines (Washington Post) The Islamic State claimed responsibility Sunday for an explosion in the southern Philippines that killed at least four people, an attack President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had blamed on “foreign terrorists.” The blast targeted a Catholic Mass inside a gymnasium at Mindanao State University in the majority-Muslim city of Marawi, some 500 miles south of the capital, Manila. More than 40 others were wounded in the explosion, the Philippine Star newspaper reported. The Islamic State announced on Telegram that its members detonated the device that caused the explosion, news agencies reported. The island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, which includes a Muslim-majority autonomous region, has historically been racked by armed conflict, and insurgent groups remain active in some areas.
'Wounded child, no surviving family': The pain of Gaza’s orphans (BBC) Medics working in the Gaza Strip are using a specific phrase to describe a particular kind of war victim. “There’s an acronym that’s unique to the Gaza Strip, it’s WCNSF—wounded child, no surviving family—and it’s not used infrequently,” Dr Tanya Haj-Hassan who works with Doctors Without Borders told BBC News. The expression captures the horror of the situation for many Gazan children. Their lives change in a second—their parents, siblings and grandparents are killed, and nothing is the same ever again. Ahmed Shabat is one of those children who was described as a wounded child, with no surviving family, when he arrived injured and crying at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza. The three-year-old survived an air strike on his home in Beit Hanoun, in mid-November. But his father, mother and older brother were killed. Miraculously, at the time he had only minor injuries. Later, an uncle was found, who decided to look after them, along with his own family. He initially took them to Sheikh Radwan city but said they left after “Ahmed was hit by glass fragments” from an explosion. They then went to Nuseirat camp to stay in a UN-affiliated school. But even in their new location, they were hit again. “I ran out of the school’s door and saw Ahmed in front of me on the ground, both legs gone. He was crawling towards me, opening his arms, seeking help.” “He wanted to be many things,” his uncle said sadly. “When we went out together to attend football matches, he said he wished to become a famous football player.”
Israel, Expanding Offensive, Tells More Gazans to Evacuate (NYT) Amid a barrage of airstrikes, Israel sharply expanded its evacuation orders in the Gaza Strip on Sunday in preparation for an expected ground invasion in the southern part of the territory. The new orders, coming three days after the collapse of a weeklong truce, sowed confusion and fear among Gaza residents, some of whom have already been displaced at least once before. Images from Gaza on Sunday showed plumes of dark smoke rising above a rubble-covered landscape and bloodied children wailing in dust-covered hospital wards. Mourners stood beside rows of bodies wrapped in white sheets. The Israeli military said over the weekend that it had approved plans for a larger ground invasion. Israeli forces have already taken control of large parts in and around Gaza City following a ground invasion from the north. The Times of Israel quoted Israeli officials saying on Sunday that the Israeli military had launched 10,000 airstrikes since the initial ground invasion began.
Who will run Gaza after the war? No good options (Washington Post) The Israelis say they don’t want the job. Arab nations are resisting. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas might volunteer, but the Palestinian people probably don’t want him. As the Biden administration begins to plan for “the day after” in Gaza—confronting problematic questions such as who runs the territory once the shooting stops, how it gets rebuilt and, potentially, how it eventually becomes a part of an independent Palestinian state—the stakeholders face a host of unattractive options. Following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, Israel vowed to destroy the group as both a military and governing entity. But after more than 15 years in power in Gaza, Hamas and its supporters are deeply embedded in every sector of society—not only in the government ministries they run, but in charities, courts, mosques, sport teams, jails, municipalities and youth groups.
After Watching 10 Migrants Die at Sea, He Now Pleads: ‘Stay’ (NYT) Crowded together with 90 other migrants on a rickety fishing vessel bound for Spain, Moustapha Diouf watched 10 of them die, one by one, from heat and exhaustion. Five were friends. It was in that macabre moment 17 years ago, Mr. Diouf said, that he vowed to do everything in his power to stop others from making the choice he had and enduring the same fate: He would make it his mission to dissuade his fellow Senegalese from trying to reach Europe and drowning or dying in myriad other ways on the perilous journey. “If we don’t do anything, we become accomplices in their deaths,” said Mr. Diouf, 54. “I will fight every day to stop young people from leaving.” Mr. Diouf was among the lucky ones: He made it to the Canary Islands alive. But the whole experience was dreadful, he said. He was imprisoned and deported to Senegal. Upon his return, together with two other repatriates, he set up his nonprofit, known as AJRAP, or the Association of Young Repatriates, whose mission is persuading Senegal’s youth to stay. But he is painfully aware of his limitations. He does not have the capacity to offer anyone a job, and most choose to migrate anyway.

Janet Louise Merrill, BJU Class of 1959.
Janet Louise Hippensteel Merrill was born in South Bend, Indiana, on August 20, 1937, and died in Dallas, Texas, on December 10, 2023. She was the youngest of five children and the only daughter of Harland Virgil Hippensteel, Sr., and Irma Edna McConnell. She married Eugene Haines Merrill on December 18, 1960. Their only child, Sonya Leigh Merrill, was born 10 years later.
Janet's life was characterized by excellence, authentic love and faithfulness.
Janet strove for excellence in all things. She believed in ""doing all for the glory of God,"" and that meant doing everything to the best of her abilities. She was multitalented; her gifts ranged from playing the piano and organ to designing and decorating the family's Japanese-style home. She was a woman of culture who appreciated excellence in the arts.
She was a longtime Stradivarius Patron of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as well as a supporter of several museums. She loved to travel and visited all 50 states as well as 57 countries. In the last year of her life, although she was wheelchair-bound, she, Eugene and Sonya journeyed to the Cayman Islands, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy and Tunisia and maintained the highest frequent flyer status with two of the three major US airlines.
While Janet had many talents and interests, her vocation was that of education, and like everything else, she pursued it with excellence.
She attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina where she studied education; it was there that she met Eugene. She then earned her master's degree at the University of Notre Dame, enrolling in the first class of women admitted to this previously all-male institution. In the late 1960s she completed her doctorate in education at Columbia University in New York City.
Janet went on to have a distinguished academic career; after moving to Dallas in 1975, she taught first at Southern Methodist University and then at Dallas Baptist University. She impacted thousands of students during those years. She also had a private counseling practice working with children, adolescents and young adults.
Janet's commitment to excellence spilled over into all her relationships. She loved people authentically and sacrificially. She gave her time and energy to build up others, most especially Eugene and Sonya. Eugene is sure he would not have finished his second PhD and achieved the success he has had in his own academic career if it were not for Janet's constant support and encouragement. She instilled in Sonya the love of learning and made sure she got the best possible education; she also helped her set up her medical practice in 2007. Janet cared deeply about her extended family. She adored her big brothers and their many children.
She was a true friend who kept in touch with people from every stage of her life. She was remarkable in her ability to connect with a surprising variety of people in deep and impactful ways.
Janet pursued excellence with all her might and loved others authentically and sacrificially because she was a woman of strong faith.
She placed her trust in Jesus Christ at the age of 10. Her love for Jesus compelled her to share His truth with others. As a child she was inspired by missionaries who visited her church, and this commitment to missions never waned. She believed in the power of medical missions and led 8 medical teams to India between 1999 and 2012.
She and Eugene also went on several teaching missions to Brazil, Russia and Ukraine.
In recent years, Janet experienced the challenge of physical disability, but her faith was stronger than ever.
It is the certain knowledge that she is perfectly whole in her heavenly home, reunited with her parents and others she loved, that gives Eugene and Sonya the peace and courage that sustain them.
Great, indeed is God's faithfulness to her, but also great was Janet's faithfulness to Him.
Janet is survived by her husband, Eugene; her daughter, Sonya; 19 nephews and nieces; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was buried on December 16, 2023, in North Manchester, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Dallas in late January with Dr. O.S. Hawkins officiating. Donations may be made in Janet's memory to Bangalore Baptist Hospital via Samaritan Medical Outreach Ministries(samaritanmedicalout reach.org), Bob Jones University Division of Music General Fund (music.bju.edu/give) and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (dallassymphony.org/donate/i/ tributegift).
