Some random sketches I've amassed in my Procreate file for The Line of Best Fit series. I've drawn both of the boys' faces here and there for years, but for the last few months, I've actively tried to study each of their features to understand how to draw them better.
I'm really glad to be in the position I am right now where I'm capable of both telling the story and illustrating how I see them. For two years, the series continues to occupy mental and emotional space rent-free, and the more I think about the journey these characters will have to embark to get to The End — which is something I've established the moment I said fuck it, I'll write it — the harder the blow is on me (positively). But I love it. I love sharing my interpretation of Separation and Longing, of Reparation and Redemption. If it's my last work for the ship, and I find the courage to move on one day, at least this is proof that the story lives on.
I don't know where this post is headed to; maybe it's a solid thank you to everyone who's stuck around.

The way people are becoming anti-children nowadays is really sad. And I'm not talking about people not wanting to have kids of their own, that's fine and something that shouldn't be shamed nor up to someone else to debate. No, I'm talking about the people who adamantly hate these little humans for simply existing, wanting to ban them from spaces due to them having emotional reactions that they are still learning to understand (you know, the kind of lessons that everyone had to learn and figure out at one point). It's gotten to the point where I've even seen these types of people genuinely support children being harmed and deny their hurt under the consensus of "Well then maybe they shouldn't be there," in your average public space. Like, imagine thinking hating on children, people who need assistance and guidance, is something to be proud of.
#like ill never forget this lady talking about how she took her son to some ice cream or cookie place#and let him look at the display (which is normal) only to have to pull him away bc a man got way to close#and when she talked about how weird it was (which makes sense bc it was) people were blaming her for letting her child run free (which wasn'#t what happened people just threw that in there to justify their hate & dismissing of the potential harm a child could've experienced)#“i vote that dogs should be on plans more than children bc they aren't as annoying!” is gross and brain dead bc only one of those two can#use the bathroom while the other uses it on a mat something in which has potential to stink up a plane & annoy people as well#you just want to bring your dog on board without all the hoops so you act like hating children will solve it#and coming from an animal lover dogs and other pets have the ability to annoy you on flights just as much as children can let's think now#also ive seen people say that children are wrong for experiencing emotional outbursts and im like “while it can be frustrating having to#deal with acting like you weren't in their shoes once and trying to shame them for these emotions is such a jerk thing to do“#also like its guaranteed that kids are going to cry on planes how about instead of shaming them & their parents maybe idk buy soundproof hea#-dphones? like parents are going to bring their kids traveling (as is their right) and are educating them the best they can that's not going#to change so why not take simple steps to prepare instead of hating on little humans? just saying#again this is not for people who just don't want to have kids! people who don't are just as valid as people who do#don't let anyone tell you otherwise#miscellaneous#idk necessarily how to tag this tbh#rants#tw for mentions of children being harmed

Expedia is a Trusted Hotel Booking Site
In an era where online travel planning has become the norm, finding a reliable hotel booking site is essential for a seamless travel experience. Among the multitude of options available, Expedia has emerged as a leading player in the industry. With its extensive offerings, user-friendly interface, and robust customer support, it’s no wonder that travelers consistently turn to Expedia for their hotel reservations. In this blog post, we will explore the features that make Expedia a trusted hotel booking site.
Extensive Range of Options
One of Expedia's standout features is its vast inventory of accommodations. From luxury hotels and boutique stays to budget-friendly options and vacation rentals, travelers can find a wide array of choices that cater to every taste and budget. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, Expedia allows you to filter your search by price, amenities, and location, ensuring that you find the perfect place to stay.
Competitive Pricing
Cost is a significant factor when choosing a hotel, and Expedia takes this into account by offering competitive pricing and exclusive deals. The platform frequently provides “Expedia Rewards” where members can earn points on bookings that can be redeemed for discounts on future travel. Furthermore, the website often features promotional sales and last-minute deals that can save travelers significant amounts of money.
User-Friendly Interface
Navigating the logistics of travel planning can be overwhelming, but Expedia aims to simplify the process. Its user-friendly interface allows you to effortlessly search for hotels and compare options side by side. Detailed information about each property, including photos, reviews, and amenities, is readily available, helping customers make informed decisions. The search filters make it easy to narrow down choices based on personal preferences, ensuring a streamlined booking process.
Transparent Reviews
Customer feedback plays a crucial role in hotel selection, and Expedia understands this importance. The site features genuine reviews from travelers who have stayed at the properties listed. These honest testimonials offer insights into the quality and services of hotels, allowing prospective guests to gauge what they can expect. By featuring both positive and critical reviews, Expedia promotes transparency, helping customers make confident choices.
Robust Customer Support
In the world of travel, unexpected situations can arise. Expedia offers robust customer support to assist travelers in addressing any issues they may encounter. Whether you need assistance with a booking change, a question about a hotel policy, or help during travel disruptions, Expedia’s support staff is available through various channels, including phone and live chat. This dedication to customer service contributes to the site’s reputation as a trusted booking platform.
Mobile Accessibility
In our increasingly mobile-centric world, the need for convenient access to travel resources is paramount. Expedia’s mobile app allows users to search for hotels, manage bookings, and receive real-time updates on travel plans, all from the palm of their hand. The app ensures that travelers can book accommodations and access essential information whenever and wherever needed.
Conclusion
When it comes to hotel booking, travelers seek reliability, flexibility, and value. Expedia has established itself as a trusted name in the industry, thanks to its extensive range of accommodations, competitive pricing, user-friendly interface, and commitment to customer satisfaction. As you plan your next journey, consider using Expedia as your go-to booking site for a hassle-free hotel reservation experience. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or planning your first trip, Expedia is equipped to meet your travel needs while providing peace of mind every step of the way.

Watched a video about these "AI assistants" that Meta has launched with celebrity faces (Kendall Jenner, Snoop Dogg etc.). Somebody speculated/mentioned in the comments that eventually Meta wants to sell assistant apps to companies, but that makes ... no sense.
If they mean in the sense of a glorified search engine that gives you subtly wrong answers half the time and can't do math, sure - not that that's any different than the stuff that already exists (????)
But if they literally mean assistant, that's complete bogus. The bulk of an assistant's job is organizing things - getting stuff purchased, herding a bunch of hard-to-reach people into the same meeting, booking flights and rides, following up on important conversations. Yes, for some of these there's already an app that has automated the process to a degree. But if these processes were sufficiently automated, companies would already have phased out assistant positions. Sticking a well-read chat bot on top of Siri won't solve this.
If I ask my assistant to get me the best flight to New York, I don't want it to succeed 80 % of time and the rest of the time, book me a flight at 2 a.m. or send me to New York, Florida or put me on a flight that's 8 hours longer than necessary. And yes, you can probably optimize an app + chat bot for this specific task so it only fails 2 % of the time. But you cannot optimize a program to be good at everything–booking flights, booking car rentals, organizing catering, welcoming people at the front desk and basically any other request a human could think off. What you're looking for is a human brain and body. Humans can improvise, prioritize, make decisions, and, very importantly, interact freely with the material world. Developing a sufficiently advanced assistant is a pipe dream.
