Porcus Isle Part I
Dom had always been larger than life. Standing at an impressive 6'5" and built like a linebacker, he was the kind of guy who turned heads wherever he went. But beyond his imposing physique, Dom was known for his easy-going nature and infectious smile.
Dom worked at a tech company downtown, San Diego, often putting in long hours. Despite his demanding job, he always found time for his true passion: exploring the vibrant food scene in San Diego. From taco trucks in Barrio Logan to high-end restaurants in La Jolla, Dom's weekends were filled with culinary adventures, always in search of the next great bite.
But Dom's favorite place was a small, unassuming diner near the beach. It was there, over a stack of pancakes and a steaming cup of coffee, that he found a sense of peace. The diner was a hidden gem, known only to a few locals, and Dom had been coming there since he moved to Socal. The owner, Jack, greeted him like family, and the regulars always had a seat ready for him. The whole diner was run by and frequented by big men. Dom felt right at home with these guys.
One sunny Saturday morning, as Dom was savoring his breakfast, a new face walked into the diner. He was a tall, built man with sharp features and immense confidence. He took a seat at the counter, glancing around the diner as if taking it all in. Like he was appreciating all the men. "Hey stud, you find what you're lookin' for?" Jack asked...
Intrigued, Dom decided to introduce himself.
"Hey there, first time here?" Dom asked, flashing his friendly smile.
The man looked up, meeting Dom's gaze with a curious look. "Yeah, just moved to San Diego a few weeks ago. Name's Alex," he replied, extending his hand.
"Welcome to the best diner in town, Alex. I'm Dom," he said, shaking Alex's hand firmly. "What brings you to San Diego?"
Alex chuckled. "A bit of everything, really. New job, new city, looking for a fresh start. I'm a software engineer."
Dom's eyes lit up. "No kidding! I'm in tech too. It's a great field, but it can be pretty demanding. This diner is my escape from all that stress."
As they talked, Dom and Alex found they had more in common than just their profession. They shared a love for video games and a passion for good food. Dom offered to show Alex around the city's best eateries, and Alex eagerly accepted.
Their friendship grew quickly, and soon, weekends were spent exploring San Diego's food scene together. Whether it was sampling street tacos, enjoying a craft beer at a local brewery, or having a quiet meal at the diner, Dom and Alex's bond became a craving for both men.
One evening, after a particularly grueling week at work, Dom and Alex decided to unwind at a new barbecue joint that had just opened in North Park. The restaurant was buzzing with energy, the scent of smoked meats wafting through the air.
As they dug into a platter of ribs and brisket, Dom looked at Alex and asked, "So, how's the new job treating you?"
Alex wiped his hands on a napkin, leaning back in his chair. "It's been challenging, but in a good way. The team's great, and the projects are interesting. It’s just... sometimes I miss having a bit more of a work-life balance."
Dom nodded. "I hear you. That’s why it’s important to have nights like this, to just relax and enjoy good company and good food."
Alex smiled. "Speaking of good company, thanks for showing me around, Dom. Moving to a new city can be pretty overwhelming, but you've made it feel like home.", "Anytime, man" Dom replied, raising his glass.
As the night wore on, their conversation shifted to their mutual love for video games. Alex mentioned an upcoming release he was excited about, and Dom suggested they set up a game night. This became the perfect way to unwind after eating out.
One evening, after a particularly intense gaming session and drinks, Dom and Alex found themselves talking about their interests. Alex expressed his admiration for Dom's physique and said he's looking to join a gym. "All this eating is starting to fill me out." Alex jiggled his belly. Dom's eyes darted to his bloated stomach. "Damn man. I didn't even realize." Dom was stupified.
He had always been focused on his own weight, but he hadn't noticed the changes in Alex.
"Yeah, it's been creeping up on me," Alex admitted, a bit embarrassed. "I've been so caught up in work and our food adventures that I haven't made time for the gym. Do you think you could help me out?"
Dom smiled, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect. "Of course! I'd love to help you. Dom had no idea why the thought of Alex's weight gain turned him on.
That night in his dark room. He thought about that moment. His belly jiggled like it was no longer a part of him. There was no visibility of his ribs. His arms filled out his shirt sleeves more. His face softened up. Dom had never masterbated to a guy before. He stopped for a second to think about it.
It was late. He was alone. No one could judge him if he stared to look up what he was fantasizing about. He pulled up Google and started with image searches. 'Fat belly': 'fat belly guy'; 'beer belly'; 'beer belly men'.
That night he spent a few hours looking at fat guys. The bellies started small, but the longer he searched the bigger they got. He glanced at a picture of a man 600 pounds. His belly was covering his lap in bed. Every single ounce of his body jiggled from the slightest shallow breath from being overstuffed. The guy leaned back on his bed and his head disappeared. The big bulbous crescent shape stood at least 4 feet high; he imagined.
Dom hit his climax and started to cum. His body filled with chills, made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. "I need to see this in person" he screamed and then he slumped back in his seat. He had some clarity and was worried about what he'd just done. "Why the hell did I do that?"
The next day he saw Alex at the diner, for brunch, and had a new appreciation for his body. "You know, after you mentioned it, I thought more about your physique." Dom shared. "Oh really? What is it you appreciate?" Alex said flirtatiously. "Um, well, I mean you're pretty beefy. That's a popular body type." He said nervously. "Beefy implies that I've been working out. I'm all jello, buddy."
The entire restaurant is quieter than normal. Dom didn't notice, but all the men in the diner were listening.
Dom could feel a twitch in his pants. "Ugh, shit, not this again." Alex was blushing. Dom was intently looking at Alex's body well beyond what was normal. "Something tells me you like it." He said with a smirk.
Dom smiled nervously. "I mean, you could say I appreciate the way you look." Dom was getting hot. "I need to use the restroom" Dom said. "Perfect, I'll go with you" Alex responded. Dom struggled to stand up straight.
They walked to the bathroom. "I feel like we're both flustered." Alex said. "Oh yeah, I guess it pretty obvious. I'm not sure what's going on lately", Dom replied.
Instantly and without hesitation the locked bodies and started making out. Dom's hands caressed Alex's newly sprouted love handles. Alex pulls back from Dom's lips and whispers, "You did this to me."
The door handle turns and someone walks in. They separate and the man said, "Are you that clueless, Dominick? We have all been dropping you hints for a while now.
"Is this like a chubby chaser establishment?"
The man responds "You mean the diner between a bear bar and a leather shop? Of course that's what it is. We managed to get you to gain 20 pounds man."
"Holy shit!" Dom exclaimed. "No wonder I love this place. Fat men make me horny. I can't believe I just said that out loud." Panic washed over him. "It's ok Dom. Nothing has changed." Alex reassured him.
"You were a part of this?" Dom questioned.
"Not really, you spoke to me first. I was coming here because I knew what I wanted. It took me a while to realize you had no idea what was going on. I thought you were playing hard to get"
"Dude I just found out I might be gay, I don't have the bandwidth to come to terms with a fetish."
"Great tech pun" Alex replied.
They both started laughing. When Dom rejoined the room it was like he was seeing it all for the first time. Some men had their large sack of flesh bulging out of their shirts.
"All right you guys. Dom knows what's going on." Alex announced.
That day was the moment Dom knew that Alex was the one.

Dad's best friend Miguel
He'll come around for barbecues with your dad and eye you the entire time, the corner of his lip curling into a smirk every time he catches you already watching him.
He'll accidentally brush up against you all day. Holding onto your hip as he walks past you, his cock, half-hard under his jeans, pressing against your ass.
If you're wearing a skirt—which has become the default for you whenever he's around—he'll accidentally run into you in the kitchen and sneak a hand up the back of your skirt to palm at your ass.
He sits beside you when it's time to eat. He can maintain casual conversation with your parents, laughing and even making jokes even though he's already knuckles-deep in your cunt.
You, meanwhile, struggle to keep quiet. With a hand holding onto his wrist, nails digging into his skin, and the other one hastily pushing your food around your plate, it takes every single ounce of effort to not make a sound.
He makes you come on his fingers, a smirk of victory on his lips as he feels your velvet walls clench around him before your arousal gushes out of you.
Then, he removes his fingers. And when your parents' attention turns to you and they ask if you're alright, Miguel chuckles and says, “Had a beer too many, didn't you, princesa?”
Very conveniently, you've got a party that night, and it just so happens to be on the way of Miguel's place. So he offers to drive you.
Fuck the party, Miguel doesn't even have to try to convince you to go to his place instead.
Fuck his place. He finds an open expanse of field and parks his pickup there, headlights off, and pushes the driver's seat as far back as it can go.
You're quick to climb over the center console and onto his lap, fingers tangling in his hair and tugging at it.
Miguel chuckles, a low, deep rumble. “Look at you, princesa. Needed me so bad, did you?”
You whine quietly. “Yeah. So, so bad.” Your lips find his in a daze of heat. You kiss him eagerly, hungrily, lips parting to allow his tongue to slide into your mouth.
His huge hands hold onto your waist, moving down to your hips to grind you against his cock. You whimper and he groans.
He unzips his jeans, allowing his thick, hard cock to spring free. The tip is an angry red from how hard he's been all day with no ounce of release. You're already soaked, ready to take him, but he fucks you with his fingers anyway.
“Come for me, princesa,” he says, voice raspy and demanding. “You have to come on my fingers if you want my cock, hm?”
It takes you almost no time to reach your release. You come with a shuddering gasp, moaning in the small space of his truck, nails digging into his broad, muscular shoulders.
“Good girl,” he says. “My good girl.”
You're still recovering from your orgasm when he gently slides you onto his cock. You mewl, head falling onto his shoulder, body limp.
He doesn't need you to do anything. He lifts you and lowers you on his cock, fucking you rough and deep. Your soaked pussy squelches loudly, overlapping with your whines and moans.
He grunts, eyes fluttering shut, eyebrows furrowing. He bites his lower lip, fingers bruising your hips. Your soft gummy walls have his heart racing, his ears ringing.
“Fuck, princesa,” he gasps. “What would your parents say if they saw you like this? If they knew how much of a slut you are?”
You mewl. It takes just about nothing for you to come, trembling on top of him, thighs squeezing his hips. He keeps you bouncing on his cock, fucking you until he's spilling deep inside you, his load filling your pussy.
He moans lowly, a soft growl escaping his lips. “Fuck. Fuck...”
As the two of you come down from your highs, he glances between your bodies, a smirk growing on his lips at the sight of your arousal smeared all over his hips and lower abdomen.
“Princesa, you look so pretty like that. Full of my cum,” he chuckles, voice still raspy.
You lean your head on his shoulder, body spent, and he holds you close, allowing you to regain your strength. By then, he's already hard once more, and you can feel your own arousal growing again.
“Do you still want to go to that party, princesa?” he asks, kissing your jaw, nuzzling his nose into your neck. “My place isn't far...”
You smile at him, gazing up at him through your eyelashes. “I never wanted go to the party anyway.”

What about Yandere! Dad Price 🤔
Warnings: yandere behavior and everything platonic. Nothing romantic.
A/N: ohh boy, you just gave me an ultra writing spree. Enjoy!!
You have him wrapped around your finger. You could ask anything, and Dad! Price would give it to you within seconds. He values everything about you, including your opinions and support. He wants your input of things, or at least when you can.
John is a Mufasa type of dad. Incredibly protective, only wants the best for you, and lets you have some type of independence. In honest aspects, he’s considerably chill regarding his dark behavior, or at least appears to be. Yet, the second something seems off, he’s pulling you behind him with his thick words, urging you to get to the truck.
He has no desire to have another s/o. He’s not risking it with someone else who can easily come into the family and could sabotage the bond between you two. Plus, he prefers raising you on his own.
Your phone is wired with trackers — a green dot, glowing frantically on John’s phone, easily telling him your location. And by chance when you find out, it’s easy to cover it up, reminding you that his job is dangerous, and all he wants is safety for you.
Would’ve homeschooled you, but with the large percentage of depression and antisocial risks, he decided against it. And because of it, you have many perks as being the kid of a famous military Captain, which means everyone respects you; including the school district. Despite his rank, he doesn’t use it unless necessary, wanting people to naturally respect you and him.
With school, Dad! Price participates a lot. He often picks you up from school, taking you out for ice-cream on Friday’s. Makes you delicious home-made lunch when he can (including leaving notes), and does whatever he can to help decrease your worry. Doing homework with him is rather nice, he explains it in multiple ways to ensure you understand it; definitely the type to do flash-cards, and gives you candy if you guess them correctly.
It comes with no surprise that you have a lot of fun uncles, and two awesome aunts. The team equally place themselves as your extended-family, visiting when they can, and adoring you. Laswell frequently visits, not only to see your father, but also to take you out when you need a break.
Undoubtedly the type to have a ‘no cussing jar’ in the house. However, the rules mostly apply to you. However, he does cuss — grumbling out when he gets caught before throwing cash into the clear jar. Either way, he uses the cash to spoil you.
Calls you a few cliché nicknames instead of using your name; only using it when you’re in trouble of sorts. He usually rests on calling you little one, kiddo, scout, and bubs.
Dad! Price never smokes cigars around you, and hides them out of reach. He doesn’t want you to seek them out, because 1) they’re bad for you. And 2) he wants you to be better than he can be. He only smokes out on the porch, and hates when you are present.
Makes the best barbecue and smoked foods that you could imagine.
It’s no surprise that Dad! Price teaches you a lot of self-defense and about your surroundings. Reminding you to take a taser, or pepper-spray when you leave the house. He knows that you’re protected, him and the others are highly trained SAS soldiers ready to pounce on any threat. But, having you know things — especially if he’s training you himself — lets his paranoia rest a bit.
Despite his large leeway with you, he’s pretty strict about school. John wants you to be good, and expects you to follow the rules. If he notices your grades dropping, he asks what’s up and how he can help; giving you the ‘dad-look’ when you don’t do assignments.
However, it’s easily noticed that he hates homework — you’re working at school for 8+ hours, pretty much exhausted when you get home, and they expect you to finish these long pages at your comfort zone? Not on his watch.
Rarely brings you to the base, but when he’s missing his kiddo, he’s fetching you from home and brings you to foot. His office is large, enough space to place a pull-out couch, which is made for you. He lets you sleep whilst he works, having calls with many, and carries you back to the truck when he’s done.
John is strict about rules in the house, and doesn’t listen to any excuses or give you leeway when you break them; it’s easy to follow, and you know the consequences.
One of the rare things he actively allows is potential partners. He rarely threatens them — and he doesn’t need to. He’s a Captain, a man who is unafraid to show his strength. So, in a quick sense, nobody would be stupid enough to try to hurt you, right?
And if they do, we all know what will happen. And it’s certainly not a pretty sight.

Modern Aedion headcanons
— Modern!Aedion Ashryver x fem!reader
Author’s note: I LOVE AEDION BARK BARK BITCH
Warnings: mentions of protests, mention of danger at pride, mentions of violence, mentions of being arrested, mentions of absent/neglectful parents, nsfw, smut, semi-public sex, finger sucking, male masturbation, food, periods, teasing, overstimulation
he likes all music. like ALL music. if you’re roadtripping it, he’ll go from sabrina carpenter to metallica to 2000s r&b to dierks bentley in one playlist and he will know every single word
had a bit of a ho phase before you so whenever you go anywhere, you almost always run into an ex-hookup of his. but you’re so not threatened bc aedion makes it obvious he only has eyes for you. if anything, you tease him about it
yall go to pride every year and Aedion is that person who’s on high alert and making sure everyone is safe, especially you. no taking drinks from randos, no getting too close to really rowdy crowds or lame ass protestors
he loves watching contact sports, not for the athleticism so much but for the rush he gets when two people collide. he’s a war general at heart in every universe so he wants to see someone get the beat down!
he would be ex military, probably coast guard and then work as a rescue EMT for people who get lost in mountains and snowstorms
his love language is quality time and physical touch but he loves to spoil🤭 but it won’t be assorted chocolates or flowers. He’ll buy you a whole ass new mattress or a 6-month SoulCycle membership. He doesn’t really give a shit about little things and he’d rather express his love to you by taking care of big expenses (try to stop him from buying you a car, I dare you)
loves a good old fashioned make out sesh
lets you play with his hair anytime you want. he has done heatless curls, curl creams, he even let you dye it aqua blue to match his eyes. Aedion is the definition of a down ass bitch and he will try literally anything, especially if it makes you happy. the fact that he gets to sit and have you play with his hair and touch his neck for an hour straight is just a bonus!
has a slight temu addiction
if you don’t have good parental figures, best BELIEVE he will let gavriel know and that man will treat you like his own flesh and blood. offering you advice, fixing your car, helping you move in/out of places, he will come over and barbecue steaks for you and aedion without even asking and he always always always makes sure you’re taken care of and that you feel loved. you get presents on your birthday, valentine’s day, christmas, but super dad gav takes it a step farther and gives you presents for EVERY holiday. sometimes it’s a stuffie and a card from “your father-in-law” even if you and Aedion aren’t married yet and sometimes it’s a $200 gift card to a nice restaurant so you and aedion can have a night out. gav will even walk you down the aisle if you don’t have someone to do that
Even if you do have good parental figures around, Aedion still wants Gavriel to be a part of your life. He’s just so obsessed with you and wants you immersed in his family as much as possible. The three of you even have a group chat where he wishes yall a good morning/night ever single day 🥹. Aedion is very much Gav’s little lion cub and a daddy’s boy at heart. The two of them spend lots of quality time together so naturally, you become a part of that too.
he has inattentive adhd and cannot stay still for the life of him. he’s always walking around, forgetting stuff, and struggles with stationary hobbies. if you’re a reader, good luck trying to get him into whatever you’re reading. he’ll try for you but he would rather be snowboarding or jumping rope or making dinner, something with his hands and body
he LOVES food trucks
if you’re a swiftie, he absolutely attended eras with you. he is in his red era but his favorite albums are fearless and tortured poets. he goes crazy for “fearless” and “the black dog” (likes songs he can scream to)
he’s definitely been arrested at a protest and for getting in bar fights defending your or Aelin
fav disney movie is tarzan but if he’s in his feels, then it’s lion king (reminds him of gavriel)
cannot sing. thinks he can. ruins karaoke night for everyone
keeps a picture of you in his locker at the EMT station. if anyone teases him for it, he cusses them out
posts lots of pictures on instagram of his family, views from the mountains where he lives and works, and you. once you two start dating, his feed is 90% you
not picky with food at all. going out to eat with him is the easiest thing ever and he always lets you pick but if you’re not up to it, he’ll choose for you (he somehow always manages to pick the best place)
the first time you got your period while you two were together, he had a minor freak out because he wasn’t prepared. from that point on, he always kept extra pads and tampons at his place
holds you so close when you’re in public areas. if you go to a concert or music festival, he’ll hold you with your back to his chest and his arm slung around your chest to make sure you’re safe and secure with him
he prefers fun, activity based dates to quiet dinners but if you have a preference for them, he will of course honor that. whatever makes you happy is enough for him
if you want to paint your house, he is on it. you don’t even have to ask. you’ll text him at 10pm “the feminine urge to paint my walls ballerina pink” and he’ll show up at your house at 6am the next morning with paint, primer, rollers, and a tarp.
loves taking couple pictures with you. he’ll spend an entire hour after dinner in the parking lot doing whatever poses you want and he’ll let you fuss as much as you want. whatever makes his girl happy.
NEVER forgets to post you for national girlfriends day or international women’s day/month
if there’s a concert you really wanna go to, he’ll stay in digital queues to help you double your chances at getting tickets
always loses the idgaf war. he gives a fuck so hard all the time about everything
loves to kiss you by holding your chin in between his forefinger and thumb. it always makes you melt and he can practically see your toes curl when he does it and he loves getting reactions like that out of you.
he likes salt and vinegar chips. always fighting for his life at aelin’s house when he opens up a bag of them because everyone rags on him for it
at first he was annoyed that people compared him to thor but when you ran your fingers through his hair and said it was hot, he changed his tune like *that* (you two went as thor and jane for halloween that year)
loves it when you play with his muscles, especially at the gym. he gets flirted with a lot at the gym and he loves it when you go with him so he can keep his hands on your hips and while you fix his headphones for him or take cute pictures in front of the mirrors and spot him when he’s lifting weights
favorite shows are That 70s Show, Game of Thrones, and Family Guy but he’s also a hardcore disney girlie when he wants something low-stress to watch and he is NOT shy about it
NSFW
he likes to fuck sitting up with you leaning against the headboard and him facing you and then slowly lower you onto his back so he can hit deeper 🙂↕️
fell to his knees when you gifted him a boudoir photoshoot
he will fuck you anytime, anywhere. If you come visit him at work, he’ll fuck you in the closet and stick his fingers in your mouth so you don’t scream his name and get caught
not opposed to toys but he really does prefer to be a one-man show. he knows how to please you and is convinced his fingers, tongue, and cock are better than any toy on the market
He may not like toys but he loves lube and massage oils. You two don’t necessarily need it because Aedion is a hardcore ‘your pleasure > mine’ kinda guy. He gets off on getting you off and you’re always sufficiently wet before slips goes inside you. That being said, he just likes to play with the lube, experiment with different flavors and textures, etc. If they have ones that heat up. GOOD FUCKING BYE. he will torture you with that shit and tbh, you’re better off calling in sick to work the next day bc you won’t be able to walk anyway.🙂↔️🙂↔️
jacks off to voice notes of you touching yourself whenever he’s away and then sends you pics of the aftermath 😔 “look what you made me do, babe…”
really into biting. he doesn’t pinch your skin or leave teeth indents (unless you ask him to) but he loves to nip and nibble, it’s something primal within him
if you ever try that tiktok trend of walking into a room naked and casually asking him a question, expect to have his dick inside you within 3 seconds and to be fucked until you’re shaking and overstimulated and can’t remember your own name 🤷🏻♀️
he can be a little cocky/arrogant if he’s ever in a dominant mood. Not mean necessarily but he will taunt you. “Oh, sweetheart, I think you brought this on yourself. Teasing me all day, tsk tsk tsk. I don’t think you deserve to cum yet.”
Follows you around like a pathetic puppy in Victoria’s Secret. If you try and tease him by skipping the lingerie and going straight to the body spray, he will pout at you like “where’s my treat, baby?🥺” until you laugh and give in. Then he buys you the skimpiest sets they have.
you always send him nsfw tiktoks. Sometimes it’s things you wanna try, stuff that turns you on, and sometimes it’s edits if your celebrity crushes because you know talking about it bugs Aedion and gets him all riled up and in the mood to give you a proper fucking when he gets home. “Henry Cavill can’t fuck you like this, my love.”
doesn’t like to fuck you in his car. he’s an artist, he needs room to do his thing. he will, however, tease you in his car. hand on your thigh, drawing little circles on your inner thigh. reaching over to fasten your seatbelt and “accidentally” grazing your tits.
oh speaking of tits
one handful at all times. he is always touching you. if you’re cuddling on the couch, his hand is def up your shirt. it’s not always in a sexual way, he just loves to touch ‘em! when you show him your outfits, he’ll run a finger down your sternum and over the curve of the top of your breast (especially if it’s something low cut)
always lets you set the pace. he can be more dominant if that’s what you like but no matter what, he always lets you decide how far you go and what you do and what things you try out
the only hard no’s for him are degradation, impact play, anything involving weapons, (he would NEVER be able to hurt you, even if it was for kink) and also nothing involving multiple partners. he likes all his attention to be on just you.
he likes to cockwarm after you’ve finished. he loves the feeling of collapsing onto your chest and cuddling for a bit and just keeping himself sheathed in you. it relaxes him
always puts a hand on your back or your ass when he’s passing by you, especially if you two are in the kitchen cooking together or something. most of the time, he just leaves his hand there. “Aedion, your hand is on my butt.” “It was an accident.” “It’s still on my butt.” “It’s still an accident.”
he’ll make out with you in public, he doesn’t care. A little PDA never hurt nobody 🙂↔️
loves to have you leaning against his chest with two fingers inside you, edging and teasing you for hours
He. Loves. Morning. Sex. It is his absolute favorite. There is nothing this man loves more than waking up and pressing kisses to your neck and jaw until you’re awake and ready for him. Lazy sundays where you two get to sleep in and slowly make love for hours are his favorite. He doesn’t care about morning breath or bed head or anything, he’s just obsessed with having you in his bed and being able to sink inside you with a happy sigh first thing in the morning.

That's My Kinda Night (Rhett Abbott x Reader)
Summary: Your 4th Of July celebration on the Abbott land turns out to be the best you've ever had
Warnings: Parenthood, drinking, holiday shenanigans etc.
Tagging: @floydsmuse @bradleybeachbabe
The barbecue was in full swing with John, Royal and a few of their friends manning the grills and smokers, everyone enjoying themselves to the fullest extent. Billy had been deejaying all afternoon while you and Rhett brought out the rest of the food from the house. Amy had been running wild all day with Rose and her friends while Perry had come for his monthly visit.
Kayce and Rip rolled up in the truck just a few minutes later, the snap cover of the truck looking rather lumpy. "The hell you guys got in here?" Rhett asked.
"Take a look," Kayce said with a huge, shit eating grin.
Rhett pulled back the cover, his jaw hanging wide open and his eyes bugging from his skull. "Ya'll didn't!" he exclaimed.
"The fuck we did," Rip chuckled.
"And he gave'em all too you guys?"
"Got it half off for the Fourth," Kayce answered. "Even the big bangers."
Rhett gasped when he saw them, those glorious, huge fireworks that Gale Burch, the neighborhood church hag, destested with every fiber of her being. There was no way in hell they were going to pass up that opportunity.
Royal, John and Wayne all came down a minute later, beer cans in hand and Wayne puffing away on a cigar. "Looks like ya'll have a good haul," John remarked.
"Got it all half off, Dad," Kayce told him.
The three grown men were wide eyed and laughing with surprise. "Holy Jeebus, Mary and Joseph!" Royal laughed. "Now that's what I call a load."
"Wide load, heavy toad," Wayne laughed.
"Wanna help set'em off, Dad?" Rhett asked.
"Does a bear shit in the woods?" Royal retorted.
Rhett laughed as you made your way down the path to the truck. A squawk escaped your throat when you saw the load in the truck bed. "Oh my God, Gale's gonna have a shit fit when she hears these," you chuckled.
"Good, maybe it'll get the stick outta her ass," Rhett laughed.
You and Rhett went back to the barbecue, enjoying the rest of the night as it came, dancing under the pavilion with your friends and family and enjoying all the tasty food. You, Rhett, Kayce, Monica, Rip and Beth all laughed your asses off as you tried to do the Cupid Shuffle, screwing up and laughing along the way. Unbeknownst to you, your mother-in-law, Patricia and the other mothers had all snuck down to the truck to get a look at the load of fireworks.
"Oh my God, ya'll are never gonna believe this," Cecelia said, pulling back the snap cover.
Patricia gasped and so didn't Tanya Rainwater. Winona Redwood cackled like a witch when she laid eyes on it too, all of them excited to see what kind of chaos this would cause the very next day.
"If Wayne burns his eyebrows again I'm done," Patricia chuckled, throwing her hands up.
"That ain't the only thing he's gonna burn off," Cecelia told her. "Remember back in college when these idiots drove all the way down here and came back up to Bozeman with a load of'em?"
The women all groaned, the memories of their husbands' stupidity still fresh as it had been forty years previously.
"Yeah and Chief Running-Of-The-Mouth and his partner, Afraid-Of-Crotch-Hair, didn't realize that ya'll don't light that shit near your pants," Patricia laughed. "Remember, eyes open, knees shut!"
"If Wayne's knees are open, shut your eyes," Tanya laughed.
They all laughed, returning back to the pavilion, their husbands all leading them in for a dance as "Copperhead Road" began to play from the speakers.
At last the sun went down and the gang began prepping for the fireworks. The older kids, some of whom were your students at the Amelia County Steiner School, were being shown how to properly light everything, while you and Rhett began unloading the haul.
"You ready for the show?" Rhett purred in a low voice as he pressed you against the trunk of the tree.
"More than ready cowboy," you giggled, tipping the brim of his hat up.
He leaned in and kissed you, his lips soft and warm as they moved in sync with yours. Your arms wrapped around his waist, Rhett's hands gently cupping your face.
"Hey you two wanna quit suckin face and come help?!" Royal called from across the field.
"Comin Dad!" Rhett answered.
You and Rhett hurried along to go and help them set up. The kids were all eager to get started now that it was pitch black out, the anticipation in the air so thick, it could've been cut with a knife.
"Daddy! Daddy! I wanna light it!" Amy chirped.
"Yeah I wanna light it too!" Rosie Hawk piped in.
"Rosie, ya'll need to ask your mommas if you can light it. Amy you and Rosie are still too little," Rhett told her.
The two girls scrunched their faces up in their usual pouty, disappointed looks, running off to go and raid the dessert table instead.
"Alright kiddos," Rhett said to the group of fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders who gathered around him. "Ya'll remember what to do?"
"Eyes open," Jaime Campbell answered.
"Knees shut," said Katie Stone.
"And don't burn yourself," Clay Hauser replied.
"Excellent!" Rhett exclaimed. "Now get to work my evil little goons."
"YES SIR!" they all replied.
As soon as the music started to play, you, Rhett and the others went all across the field, lighting off the fireworks. They hissed as they flew into the air, bursting apart in colorful sparks of red, white, blue, gold, green and purple. The screamers and the pinwheels had been the favorite of the kids, flying about in a spiral before disappearing into thin air.
Rhett set off a set that he and the others had called "dragon tails", fireworks that screamed into the air and coiled about like their namesake before exploding with a chest rattling *BOOM!*. Finally, it was time for the big ones.
"Ya'll wanna do the honors darlin?" he asked.
"With pleasure!" you exclaimed happily.
You lit the wick with Rhett's lighter, rushing to get out of the way as it screamed and flew into the air, higher, higher and higher still. High above the treeline it burst apart, everyone covering their ears as golden sparks rained down from above. All at once the colorful rockets flew into the air and exploded to the awe of the onlookers. You and Rhett however, stood back near the trees and shared a kiss, unbeknownst to everyone else.

As someone who lives in Texas (unfortunately) I find it SO FUNNY when people make keith overwhelmingly southern. Like, cmon yall. Texas history 101, the cowboy era ended a long ass time ago, most of us DONT wear cowboy hats anymore. Why the fuck would keith ride a horse???? Nobody does that unless they own horses??? And horses are incredibly expensive???
Like, I understand cowboy aus, and historical aus, but if Texas, in 2024, isn't like that (the stereotypes are so wild) then why would it be like that in approx 2314?
Very few wear cowboy hats or boots. Very few have horses, and NOBODY rides them to school, ffs. Keith is not a farmhand.
Some texas stereotypes that are true, however...
-yeah we say yall nonstop
-ain't, wouldja, couldn't've, etc.
-confederate flag is less common here, normally you see the "come and take it" or the "don't tread on me"
-if keith ever went to public school, 1/3 of his classmates or more are Latino
-most Texans know moderate amounts of Spanish
-we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and most ppl think it's Mexican independence day (it's not)
-barbecue.
-chili WITHOUT BEANS YOU HEATHEN
-will fight over food, family, or football
-either you support the Dallas Cowboys or the Houston Texans. Any other team is sacrilege. Once you make this choice, it WILL have effects on your social life.
-football is basically king here lol, none of the other stuff in school gets nearly the funding
-people living in rural areas (like Keith's dad) often own guns, and not pistols either-- rifles and shotguns, usually
-NOBODY SAYS YEEHAW. at least not unironically
-Texans will ironically say yeehaw, rootin-tootin, etc bc we are aware of our history and think it's wack
-were not all racist, but everyone knows at least one person who is (usually an older family member)
-mind your gotdamn manners at the table. Get those elbows away from your food
-sir and ma'am for strangers
-open doors for old people. You don't have to be a man to do this.
-please and thank you is SO important, people will assume things about you otherwise
-if you don't have a church, you miss out on a lot of community (coming from a non-religious person)
-most people here are Baptist, on that note (Hispanic people contribute to the Catholic population, but still, Baptist is #1)
-internet service is awful unless you're in a city
-we WILL close all schools for 2 inches of snow/ice
-we laugh at hurricanes, and then do our best to help our Houston neighbors
-but everybody hates Houston and Dallas, unless you live there
-most people are okay with Austin, San Antonio, etc
-EL PASO IS TINY, AND HALF OF IT IS IN MEXICO (and is called Ciudad Juárez there)
-beer is god. And God has no problem with drinking. (According to beliefs here)
-gambling is illegal here, but we love it, so states like Oklahoma have built casinos RIGHT ON THE STATE BORDER so that we can drive a bit and gamble as we please
-everybody's dad drives a truck. Otherwise people assume he's got a small pp
#I can make more#if anyone is interested#i just love/hate texas stereotypes#we have a culture..#that can be used in writing..#but people just make shit up sometimes lol#im not mad about this i just think its weird#PLEASE ask me about Texas things for keith and his dad PLEASE#we in texas dont have much to be proud of these days#let me have keith#please#keith kogane#texan keith#voltron#vld keith#vld#voltron legendary defender

In the heart of Texas, where culinary culture meets picturesque landscapes, Yvette Heiser Learn about Food Photography with Yvette Heiser, Texas is at the forefront of revolutionizing food photography. Her lens doesn’t discriminate—it captures the essence of Texas terroir, from sun-kissed peaches at local farmer’s markets to sizzling brisket on roadside grills1. Let’s delve into the expertise needed to craft breathtaking imagery that encapsulates the spirit of Texas weddings and gastronomy.
Natural Light is Key
When it comes to food photography, natural light is your best friend. Texas, blessed with abundant sunshine, provides an ideal backdrop for capturing the perfect food shot. Whether dining al fresco at a quaint café in Austin or enjoying a Tex-Mex feast in San Antonio, position your dish near a window or outdoors to make the most of the natural light.
Showcasing Local Flavors
Texas boasts a rich tapestry of culinary traditions, from Savory barbecue to mouthwatering Tex-Mex. When photographing food in Texas, focus on capturing the unique flavours and ingredients that define the state’s gastronomic identity. Whether it’s a sizzling plate of brisket from a renowned barbecue joint or a colourful spread of tacos from a local food truck, highlighting local flavours adds authenticity to your photos.
Composition and Angles
Experimenting with composition and angles takes your food photography to the next level. Instead of simply shooting your dish from eye level, try capturing it from different perspectives. In Texas, you’ll encounter visually appealing dishes, from towering burgers to artfully plated desserts, providing ample opportunities to get creative with your compositions.
Embracing Food Culture
Food is deeply woven into the fabric of Texan culture. Incorporate glimpses of local food culture into your photos—whether showcasing the vibrant hustle and bustle of a farmers’ market in Dallas or capturing the laid-back charm of a traditional Texas barbecue. Infuse your photos with authenticity and charm by celebrating the food culture.
Wildlife photography has evolved beyond mere aesthetics—it has become a powerful tool for raising awareness and fostering a deeper connection between humans and the natural environment and Yvette Heiser Wonders Captured the Power of Wildlife Photography in Conservation with her keen eye and unwavering passion, exemplifies this transformative impact.

Conservation Advocacy
Through her work, Yvette advocates for conservation. Each photograph tells a story—a narrative of survival, adaptation, and vulnerability. By capturing these moments, she invites viewers to join the cause, urging us to protect habitats, combat poaching, and preserve biodiversity.
Elusive Creatures
Wildlife photography presents challenges—accessing remote and inhospitable environments, waiting patiently for elusive creatures, and respecting their natural behaviour. Yvette’s dedication pays off as she captures fleeting glimpses of endangered species, emphasizing their importance in the delicate balance of ecosystems.
Ethical Practices
Yvette Heiser adheres to ethical guidelines. She prioritizes the well-being of animals over the perfect shot. Her images are a testament to patience, respect, and responsible photography—never disturbing habitats or endangering wildlife.
A Call to Action
As we immerse ourselves in Yvette’s portfolio, we’re reminded that every click of the shutter holds immense power. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about igniting a passion for conservation. Yvette Heiser’s wonders captured through her lens propel us to protect the wild spaces that sustain life.

sometimes there are fieldwork Incidents and sometimes there are moments of serendipity, and we stumbled into one of those this week. after not having, like, seen a single other living soul anywhere we were doing dispersed camping, we ran into a dad who was taking his three lil girls (ages, like, six thru eleven) and a dog on a jeep trip. it was getting towards eight at night and we hadn't yet picked out a camp spot, and he asked if we had a battery he could borrow to inflate an air mattress (we did), so we ended up following them and pitching camp right next to them.
highlights:
we were happy to have a campsite & new people to interact with, and in exchange he was clearly relieved to have some help entertaining the kiddos while he took a breather
crew members got to practice their sci comm skills by explaining what we were doing out there
the dad runs a food truck in a city in Nevada in his daily life, so he gave us the best mac salad i've ever had and (according to our one crew member that wasn't vegetarian) a fantastic hawaiian barbecue.
in exchange for the mac salad i gave him some of the tofu stir fry i was making for our dinner, got past some of his skepticism about vegetarian food through the power of Delicious Peanut Sauce. also, in the name of cultural exchange, i put aside my reservations for a moment and won goodwill by trying a bite of the hawaiian barbecue (it was good)
the girls were all EXTREMELY excited about bones. cow bones. other crew member instantly befriended them by showing them a cow bone she'd found. it always really, really warms my heart to see kiddos excited about poking around in bushes and looking for bones
i mostly hung out with the six-year-old, who helped me set up my tent, and helped me draw -- after letting her go at my sketchbook for a bit, i set her up with my green glitter pen and a separate page.
i asked all the kids what their favorite animals were and gave them doodles to keep
after the kiddos went to bed we all hung out by the campfire and ran through our campfire song repertoire to entertain the dad ("big rock candy mountain" is our current go-to and is a pretty safe bet)
the next morning, we headed out for our work day before they woke up, and they'd cleared out by the time we got back, but when we opened up our kitchen gear box, we found a thank-you note telling us to look up their food truck next time we're in the area, along with supplies for s'mores.
#for those who know what i'm talking about#after this encounter i couldn't stop thinking about caernen keep#and being like. yeah. okay. feels like im really living out the nomadic caravan life rn. and also this is what caernen keep was about#just. many emotions abt the kindness of strangers on the road#field notes

Little something about Bobby's opinion about Mag and Phi. Or Bobby hate Buckley parents and he is not alone.
1244 words
Bobby Nash always had not the best thoughts about the Buckleys. Firstly he just couldn`t understand how they never came to see Buck after his injuries. He could understand that they did not show up after an emergency tracheostomy, which Buck underwent in the first year. The kid was discharged the next day and two weeks later he was on duty. But still. They didn't even come to make sure he was okay.
But Bobby stopped by every day, just to make sure Buck was okay, could breathe on his own and had no problems with food. (Bobby might have brought a large amount of food that he cooked especially for Buck, but that remained between him, God, and Buck's former roommates.)
But after Buck almost died under a fire truck, went through three surgeries and five months of physiotherapy, then embolism and tsunami , Bobby began to seriously despise them. How could they know that their son almost died and was in such a bad state and not come? And worst of all, Buck wasn't surprised. As if it was normal that his parents left him with injuries, left him to take care of himself alone.
But when Buck told them about Daniel and how he tried to beg for their love, Bobby just hated these people.
The kid had lived all his life without the love of his parents and so much in his behavior had become so easily explicable. At that moment, his hatred for Buckley was covered by an all-consuming concern for Buck. Bobby could see that Buck was joking so as not to show how much he was hurt. He saw the broken heart in those blue eyes. He saw an adult man in front of him, but he could not escape from the picture of little Buck deliberately looking for adventure and injuries for the sake of a little bit of attention from people who did not deserve to call themselves his parents.
But time passed. The Buckleys get along with their kids recently and now:
“That's why I thought it was silly to have a separate dinner with my parents and a barbecue with you and Athena and our family. So can I invite them to a barbecue?” Buck looks at him with his puppy blue eyes, adjusting the bag falling off his shoulder and clearly worried. Buck also prefers to look at the truck from the glass walls of the locker room and not at Bobby.
Bobby wants to say no, wants to wrap Buck in a blanket and shout at Buckley's faces, "He's mine. You do not deserve him," but Buck deserves it. He for years wanted a normal relationship with his parents. Now they have something good. Bobby would never take that away from the kid.
“Of course, Buck. It's your birthday. You can invite whoever you want. Especially your parents,” Bobby says and sees how Buck becomes less nervous.
“Thank you, Bobby. For everything. You and Athena really didn't have to plan my birthday at your house,” Buck says with a smile and with only a little surprise in his voice that people want to make something like that for him. Buck accepts more love and understands that he is worthy of it every day after his coma. But Bobby still hates the Buckleys for making Buck believe for years that he wasn't enough for this.
“Buck, we wanted to do it. We all are really happy we have the opportunity to celebrate your another birthday. Celebrate your life,” it is still hard to talk about Buck`s death for Bobby. Memories and feelings are too fresh. But Bobby concentrates on the thing that Buck is here, alive, breathing. And he is ready to become one year older.
Buck just sends him a little smile with understanding in his eyes and then hugs him. It surprises Bobby a little bit, but he appreciates the comfort the kid gives him.
“Thanks, pops,” Buck grins slyly and Bobby just shakes his head at the old nickname. He hasn't heard it in a while. “I`ll see you tomorrow,” Buck leaves the locker room.
Bobby sighs and heads to his car. He needs to prepare the meat for the barbecue.
***
The party is great. Bobby laughs with his family and toasts non-alcoholic cocktails to the birthday boy. It's a lovely evening surrounded by his family, which he found over the years. But the constant presence of Margaret and Philip seriously tests him. They're not bad people. But some of the stories they told about Buck and their reaction to it only reminds Bobby why he hates them.
So he goes to check a new portion of meat and lets himself exhale.
“God, I hate them so much,” Bobby says very quietly, but he hears someone choking on a drink behind his back. He quickly turns around and sees Eddie wiping his mouth with a hand in which there is no beer bottle.
“Please tell me you`re talking about Mag and Phi,” Eddie says with hope and interest. “Because I`m so tired of them. And I hate them from the moment Buck firstly told me a story about his childhood. I need someone to support me here.”
Bobby nods, “I hate them from the moment I found out about Daniel. But I never thought anything good about them. Buck deserves better.”
“He does,” Eddie turns his head to the side where Buck is entertaining the children. Jee is in his arms, and Danny and Chris are running around him. Bobby notices how a gentle smile appears on Eddie's face, and his eyes soften. Someday Eddie will understand what this means. And Buck will see this facial expression directly. Bobby just hopes it happens soon.
“Still can't understand how they can be his parents. Mag, Phi, Maddie and Buck sharing DNA it's unbelievable,” Eddie shakes his head, pouts and looks at Bobby, then makes the other sip of a beer. “I was shocked when he told me he invited them. I even thought about saying `don't do it`. All the family he needs is here. The family we chose. They don't deserve Buck and Maddy's forgiveness,” Eddie sighs.
“But Buck and Maddie deserve this. They deserve to have peace with their parents. Not for Mag and Phi, but for them, for Jee, for… who knows how many Buckley babies we are going to see,” Bobby hears the little pause and he knows who Eddie wanted to mention. But he lets Eddie feel like he doesn't know. “Maybe I hate them, but I would never say it to Buck. Just wait till he would need to escape from them when it's too much and be here for him,” Eddie looks at Buck again and smiles brighter than before. Bobby can see how Buck hugs Chris.
“Yes. It's the reason I let them be here today,” Bobby waits till Eddie will look at him again. When they make eye contact he says, “ And who knows maybe Buck`s kids would have another last name. And Buck too.”
Bobby winks at Eddie and leaves in search of his wife. He sees how Eddie tries to understand his words for a few minutes, but then Buck and Chris call him to join the game.
Bobby sees the men's eyes conversation and the way they smile at each other, and he hopes he will soon need to fill out some forms.
@jobairdxx I promised you Bobby and Eddie hate Buckleys together, but it the best I could do

After washing your hands, you walked back outside to see the firepit was lit and some of the cowboys were sitting around eating. You saw Jake standing to the side and walked over to him.
He smiled when he saw you.
"How come you're not eating?" you asked.
"I was waiting for you," he replied, extending his hand towards the buffet table.
You took a plate and began loading it up with food. At the far end of the table, you spotted Griff with a large pot, most likely his renowned barbecue.
"Ms. Y/N," Griff greeted with a nod as you approached him. "It's wonderful to have you back."
You smiled appreciatively. "Thank you, Griff."
Griff turned to Jake. "Well, if it isn't Jake Seresin. How've you been? It's been, what, a few months?"
You glanced at Jake.
"Something like that, Griff," Jake responded with a grin.
The two of you made your way to an empty hay bale and settled in.
"A few months?" you ask.
"Yeah. I try to make it back when I can. It's good to get away from the base every now and then."
"I can imagine," you replied, taking a bite of your barbecue sandwich. You set it back down on the plate and glanced at Jake. "I do miss this kind of food from time to time."
Jake smiled. "I can see that."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You've got a little something on your lip right there," he pointed out, reaching over to gently wipe your mouth.
You couldn't help but smile at Jake's gesture, feeling a mixture of nostalgia and warmth. "Thanks."
He grinned. "No problem."
The conversation flowed easily after that, as you and Jake caught up on each other's lives, sharing stories and laughing together. It was strange, but in a good way, to feel this connection with him again after so long.
"It's been a long day," Jake finally said and you looked at him.
"Yeah. I guess it has." You stood up. "Let's get you home."
The two of you went and threw your garbage into the trash can, headed to your rental truck and got in. You started the truck and began driving.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" Jake asks.
You shrugged. "I'm not sure. Whatever needs to be done around here, I guess."
"You want to go for a ride?"
You looked at him. "Sure."
"It was really nice seeing you again."
"You too."
The drive back was filled with a comfortable silence, the occasional hum of the engine providing a soothing backdrop. As you pulled up to the house, Jake turned to you with a smile.
"Thanks for today, Y/N. It was really great."
You returned the smile. "You can thank my brother for that, but likewise."
Jake opened the door, stepped out of the truck and headed towards his parents house. Watching him go, you felt a sense of contentment wash over you. Today had been unexpected, but in the best possible way. You looked forward to whatever tomorrow might bring.
The next morning, you woke up, got dressed and headed to the kitchen where James sat at the island drinking coffee and reading a paper and Griff was cooking.
"I didn't think newspapers existed anymore," you said as you poured yourself a cup of coffee.
"I didn't think you and Jake Seresin would ever get back together, but here we are."
You met James's gaze. "We're not together. We've just been catching up."
"Uh huh," James responded, taking another sip of his coffee.
Just then, the door swung open, revealing Jake along with his sister Leslie.
"Oh my God! Y/N!" Leslie exclaimed, rushing towards you with excitement, and the two of you shared a tight embrace. You looked at Jake.
"Sorry. When she heard you were home, she insisted on driving me over."
Leslie parted from you and looked at you. "Exactly. Don't blame him."
"I won't," you responded.
"It is so good to see you. Why didn't you tell me you were coming home?"
You and Leslie had been best friends since elementary school, and she had been heartbroken when you moved to Alaska, but she understood.
Leslie glanced from you to Jake and then back to you.
"You know what, forget I asked that. I'll talk to you later. Bye James," she said before heading out the door.
"Here you go, Ms. Y/N," Griff said placing a basket on the kitchen island.
"Thank you, Griff."
"You want some breakfast since you just got up? I've got some eggs and bacon."
"Sure."
"Jake? What about you?"
"I'd love some. Thank you."
Griff prepared some plates for the two of you and set them down on the island. As he did, James folded his paper and stood up.
"I've got to go check on the guys. Could you check the north fence today?"
"Yeah."
"Thanks," he said and went out the door.
Griff wiped his hands on his apron. "I've got to go answer that call," he said, then swiftly left the kitchen.
You and Jake exchanged puzzled looks.
"Alrighty then," you said, starting to eat.
When you finished, you placed your dish in the dishwasher along with Jake's and grabbed the basket.
"You ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go get the horses saddled and ride out."
The two of you headed out the door and to the barn.

for the meme: hinawa ^_^
First impression: 2013 clark playing m3 for the first time: wow, that sure is Mom!! Gee i sure do wonder when Mom's gonna make it back from the woods, which are on fire by the way. Oh. O.. Oh……. Oh my fucking god……
Impression now: -pointing- That is a Funny Southern Lady right there. An absolute bowl of apple cobbler.
Favorite moment:
Idea for a story: One day when I illustrate Barbecue AU it's gonna be fucking over for all y'all. For those uninitiated: AU in which Pitmaster Hinawa n' her family run a barbecue food truck together. She survives a kitchen fire explosion, like a total badass, and goes on to thrive as a beloved local culinary icon. The twins cook with her. Boney might be their mascot. Flint's in the back smokin' up the best damn brisket you've ever tasted. Antics ensue.
Unpopular opinion: idk if there are particularly strong, popular, or unpopular opinions about Hinawa in this humble little fandom. My only lukewarm take is that I think Itoi shouldda given her more screentime, dialogue, and personality before taking her out back and shooting her - considering the whole rest of the game is grounded to her memory. Grief is handled brilliantly, but Hinawa herself feels more like a symbol than a character. The writing for women in this series has never been superb though. What can ya do.
Favorite relationship: How the sensitivity and emotional vulnerability she taught Lucas to embrace is put to the test in her absence. The whole story is often flanderized down to its darkest & most miserable beats - but it's actually about laughing & loving & cherishing life despite adversity - and I fuckin' know Hinawa's the one who taught Lucas how to do that. I like to imagine he thinks of her in his brightest moments, not just when he's down. That her memory inspires him to smile and move forward, and that she lives on in every kind n' caring deed he does. (Bonus Round: when I think too hard about how all the same could've applied to Claus, I get inconsolably fucked up. When I make it apply anyways, to a Claus who survived, I get sappy as all hell.)
Favorite headcanon: What if she was silly!!!!!! What if she was a goofball hippie with a quirky sense of humor just like her dad!! What if she made dorky puns, and cracked up laughing when kid Claus said bad words, and invented a sequel to the hokey pokey just to make little Lucas smile!! Also she smoked mad pot in her youth sorry

I wore a shirt I crocheted to a food truck rally at a local brewery yesterday! We met friends there and tried yummy foods from each vendor. My partner ordered a barbecue seitan burger that was far better than my chicken curry, much to my surprise. (I don't know how he manages to order the best food every time). Today has been a little tough physically, but I'm still glad that I went.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
This Softness || Accepting "Okay so, we got a truck coming in to drop off the kegs, but the event coordinator's going to sign off on that, and for the wine and spirits. The ribs are marinating in the fridge along with the jack fruit wings, everyone's bringing a dish to round out the potluck. The food's going to be set up in the dining room, the music and most of the chairs are going to be down on the beach..." She sees him giving her an amused side-eye and tilts her head. "What?" But he doesn't get to say anything, does he? "No, don't even start! This is your seven year anniversary as friends and partners, and you're both still alive! I think that deserves to be celebrated!" The party had been in the work for months now, ever since Andy had made a snarky remark about their partnership having outlived his marriage by four years. Beth of course couldn't leave well enough alone and had invited everyone who seemed to know either man and had been busy making arrangements since. A blow out with booze, barbecue, music, the fire pit...every thing she could possibly think of. Riley tended to be the same way about Thanksgiving and Christmas, Saint Patrick's Day. Beth put her all into anniversaries, Halloween, and New Years. There were other random days she tended to make a big deal about. And when she wasn't busy with that, she was always dropping off snacks or full on meals for the SWAT team, organising charitable events in their name and for the Church she and Andy attended. Gifts were generous and never restricted for birthdays and major holidays, sometimes they would just randomly appeared. The two siblings could run the entire state power grid if only the energy they put into things like this could be harnessed for the overburdened infrastructure. Brian says he gets it, mostly, but asks her why. She looks up from her list and blinks, returning a wide-eyed stare from the other side of her glasses. There's a tightness to her mouth now that has nothing to do with the smile that'd slipped off her face when he voiced the question. She half turns away and fiddles with the Jenga tower on the deck's table. "Growing up, it was mostly just the two of us. What should have been big affairs with friends and family were usually...not. After a while, you either give up or decide to make the best of what you can, when you can, and I guess we... we're just trying to make up for all those years. And then the ones we spent apart." When she turns around, the smile is back on her face but it lacks a little of its previous lustre. "Come on. I need you and those muscles of yours to help me take these coolers down to the beach."

This Love ~ Part 11 🩵💜
Rehearsal, For The Rest Of Our Lives
Tim And Lucy’s rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding.
Tim thought some dynamics of a traditional wedding were mind boggling. Him and Isabel didn’t have a normal wedding adhering to all the traditions. Now, he understood most of the traditional values of weddings. But the rehearsal dinner. That seemed something they didn’t need. Tim, did not in any way need to “rehearse” marrying the love of his life. At first he fought this. In the end all he wanted to do was make Lucy happy. That’s all that mattered to him. He eventually understood that Lucy had dreamt of this special day since she was a little girl. Unlike Tim, she wouldn’t be getting a redo. Now, Tim never regretted marrying Isabel. He really did love her. They had a whirlwind romance. They fell in love. They just wanted to be married before Isabel started her UC journey. So, a planned wedding wasn’t a part of their plan. Lucy was different. Their love story was so much unlike his first marriage. Their love was so much more. They had taken their time. Way to much time if you ask their Wilshire family. They did everything the right way. Not getting physical right away. Went on dates. Eventually, their relationship had a natural progression. Now, after they did get physical. They couldn’t get enough of each other. Never wanting to be apart from one another. It wasn’t long before Tim was spending most nights at Lucy’s. This was a different love for Tim. Not to take away what he felt in his first marriage but Lucy was the love of his life. So if she wanted to do all the traditions for their wedding, he would never take that away from her.
The day before the rehearsal dinner. Lucy had noticed her fiancés lack of enthusiasm for it. It was making Lucy insecure. Was he getting cold feet? Since they were getting married in the park beside the food truck. The rehearsal dinner was going to be held at the Lopez-Evers residence, in their backyard. Lucy had just wanted a casual barbecue as the wedding was going to catered with all the trimmings. A good ol fashion barbecue. Tim was at least thankful she wasn’t going overboard with this dinner. As Tim And Lucy were having some downtime together. Snuggling on the couch. Tim felt a shockwave hit him as Lucy spoke.
“Tim. Be honest. Your not getting cold feet, are you?
“WHAT!?! Luce where is this coming from?”
“I just see that you aren’t very enthusiastic the last couple days as we planned the rehearsal barbecue and it’s leaving me feeling insecure”
“Baby. No. Not for a second am I getting cold feet. Sweetheart, I can’t wait to marry you. For you to be my wife. I have never been more sure of anything in my life. It’s just…”
“Just what, Tim?”
“The rehearsal dinner seems silly to me. I don’t need to rehearse marrying you. The wedding is all I need to show you that you are my one true love. I can do that blindfolded. I know it’s part of the tradition of weddings. I’m so sorry, baby. Don’t think for one second that I have any doubts because I never have and I never will. I have wanted to marry you for so damn long. I know how much these traditions mean to you. I’m good, I promise. I’m truly sorry if I made you doubt anything”
“Ok. I know. It’s not your thing. That’s why I wanted to keep it casual with just a normal barbecue with our family. It just really means a lot to me to honour the traditions as much as possible. Thank you for respecting that”
“Oh, baby. I will always respect you in every way. I’m fully on board, I promise”

The next day everyone had gathered at Angela and Wesley’s home for the rehearsal barbecue. Since Grey was walking Lucy down the aisle they had asked Wesley to perform the ceremony. He was one of Tim’s best friends through Angela but never the less the two men had become very close over the years. Wes was a lawyer, so it was nothing for him to be ordained and also able to be a witness for their marriage license. Angela and Nyla had decorated the backyard so nicely. Balloons and a big board full of pictures of both Tim and Lucy. Since they had all witnesses the proposal. Angela was able to capture the moment on her phone and that picture was front the center on their wedding board.
Everyone enjoyed the evening. Starting with all the barbecue fixings. Hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad and drinks, of course. Then came the reason they were all there for. Wes asked everyone to take their positions. Tim at the altar with Angela by his side. Wes front and center beside Tim. Lily walked down spreading flowers down the make shift aisle. With Patrice, Jack came holding a small pillow where the rings will be placed. Then came Tamara to stand beside her mom. As she walked down the aisle gave her dad a wink and smile. Tim had a tear escape his eye so proud of his now daughter. Next came Wade with the bride, Lucy walking towards the altar. Even though Tim was skeptical about this rehearsal dinner. Him being able to see his bride walk towards him twice gave him literal butterflies. She looked beautiful like she always does. His only thought was how in the world would he be able to control himself when she walked towards him in her dress. He knew without seeing it, she was going to look absolutely gorgeous. Wes went through the traditional parts of the ceremony. Tim and Lucy wanted to save their vows until the wedding. They rehearsed the “I do’s”. Tim planted a passionate kiss well before Wes was able to get out “you may now kiss your bride” Everyone began to roar. Tim Bradford was something no one could of ever imagined. A love sick man. Deeply in love with Lucy Chen. She is and had been for a long time, his forever.
As the night winded down. Tim was going to honour Lucy’s traditional wishes. They would spend the night apart. Lucy and Tamara would spend the night at home. Tim was going to spend the night at Angela and Wes’s. Tim drove his bride to be and daughter home where he was also going to pick up his tux to bring back with him. At the apartment. He grabbed his tux and said his “goodbyes”. First saying goodnight to his daughter. “Keep your mom in line” he said with a smirk. “It’s a big day tomorrow” adding Tim. “No promises, Dad” replying Tamara. “You two are nothing but trouble. I love you kiddo and I can’t wait to see you in your beautiful maid of honour dress tomorrow” whispered Tim. “I love you, dad. Get some sleep. You have a big day tomorrow.” laughing Tamara. Tamara went to her room to give her mom and dad a moment together for the last time before they become husband and wife. Tim cupped Lucy’s face. “Alright. My beautiful bride. Time for me to go. I love you so much and next time I see you I will see you in your gorgeous dress. I can’t wait to marry you, my love” whispering Tim. “I love you so much, handsome. Thank you for choosing me. I’m the luckiest girl in the world that I get to become a Bradford tomorrow. Us four will be a official family tomorrow” Lucy softly added. “Baby, we are already a family but you will become a Bradford tomorrow and nothing in this world makes me happier thinking of that moment. I love you, sweetheart. See you tomorrow” giving Lucy a long, passionate kiss as he opened the door and left for Angela’s.
Tomorrow Lucy will become Lucy Bradford. She was finally going to have her magical moment with the man of her dreams. She never thought she could love anyone the way she loves Tim Bradford. Their perfect family was going to be honoured tomorrow. Lucy, Tim, Tamara and Kojo. With hopefully baby Bradford’s to come.
