All About E
More self-torture. I don’t know why I do this.
Oh wait.
Yes I do.
It’s because the person I’m writing about is being praised and supported when she shouldn’t be. Shall we begin?
-
Tumblr media
Elta Danneel Graul was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and raised in the small town of Eunice. Her father, Edward, is a practicing ophthalmologist, and her mother, Deborah, is an interior designer. She was named after her great-grandmother. Legally her name is still Elta, but she professionally and personally goes by Danneel. Supposedly she was given the middle name, Danneel, after a street in New Orleans.
She moved to Los Angeles because, according to her, she knew she wanted to live in California. She moved there and lucked out with modeling. How did she luck out? Her now-ex-boyfriend, Riley Smith. His mother was a modeling agent in Chicago. She flew home with him for Thanksgiving and his mother made the phone call with the agency.
(How did Elta afford to live in Los Angeles without much work? Her parents paid her way, so she basically lived in an apartment on her own, didn’t share with anyone, and got to be lazy.)
Supposedly Riley’s mother also helped Elta with a nose job and breast implants (the first time around).
Elta liked to claim she worked and supported herself, but her beginning modeling jobs didn’t pay very well. She also didn’t get nearly as much work, so her parents supported her.
Tumblr media
Elta proceeded to segue into television with the help of Riley to do auditions. She had a few guest spots on MadTV, Amanda Bynes’ What I Like About You. Then she had the audition with One Life To Live.
Because One Life To Live was filmed in New York, Elta had to move there. Again… her parents helped, because a starting actress on a soap did not pay well. She also had bit parts in Love House.
Eventually One Life To Live ended and Elta got guest spots on One Tree Hill, Joey, JAG, Charmed. Supposedly it was because she did well in auditions, but those rumors of her doing the casting couch with Mark Schwan persist.
After One Tree Hill, she had more guest spots on How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, and other shows.
She appeared in a few small roles in movies as well.
Supposedly, Elta is skilled in gymnastics, can sing and play piano.
Given how badly she moved as Rachel in One Tree Hill, I call false in the gymnastics claim. We’ve heard her sing—she can’t sing, period. Never seen her play the piano.
Tumblr media
There have been claims that she has a degree in beat-poetry from University of Louisiana. She is not listed as an alumni and the timing does not work. I also call false that.
Elta has tried to create a jewelry line with Limbo Jewelry to create a line called Link. Near as I can tell, that jewelry line has never sold out and has not sold well. Supposedly it was meant as a benefit for Creative Action, an Austin-based charity aimed at foster youth-development projects. It has barely raised much, only $30,000.
Elta has four tattoos. A matching tattoo with Hilarie, which says “Mischief”, that she got at Hilarie’s wedding. A shark tattoo on her butt. An arrow on her left arm in honor of her children, and some kind of “robe-woman” who resembles a muse on her right arm.
She photographed for Maxim’s “Hot 100” list several times.
Supposedly, she is still friends with Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bevin Price.
She claimed she fell in love with Jensen during filming of Ten Inch Hero. They apparently drove back and forth, car pooled, really, to and from set and struck up a deeper conversation. Jensen once claimed he gave her a note that said “Not now, someday” as by that time, Elta was engaged to Riley Smith, Jensen’s friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Evidently, she didn’t even tell Riley what happened. She just packed up her things and moved out from their shared apartment, no break-up talk, nothing. Riley is now very happy she did that, given the crappy way she broke up with him. The best thing he got out of that relationship, he once claimed, was the guitar he was gifted with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jensen kept mum on the relationship for a long while. He had dated Joanna Krupa at one point, and Tania Saulnier. He was rumored, at one point, to have been with LeAnn Rimes (she herself said that was false) and Jessica Simpson (never been mentioned).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His revelation that he was dating came as a surprise—and almost no one knew who she was. When his engagement was announced on JustJared, no one knew he was dating or still dating her. The timing of said engagement had always been suspicious, given it was practically a week after Jared proposed to Genevieve.
Tumblr media
Jensen claimed later that Elta gave him an ultimatum and that she hadn’t known he was going to propose.
I believe it was because seeing Jared get engaged meant the gay rumors would focus solely on him and he didn’t want to deal with that. Plus, suspected he had to “settle down”, so Elta was his “Okay, I guess she’ll do” girl. Not the girl of his dreams.
She likely tailored herself to what he wanted as she knew him for years prior to that.
Not to mention a rather quick engagement to wedding (six months; most usually do a year! Perhaps because Jared’s was set and they wanted to compete—or rather, Elta did).
Oh, Elta’s career kept puttering along. Some attempts were made, and all failed. No, I don’t think it’s because she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom either. Her career just didn’t take off; she’s a horrible actress with a childish voice that is clearly faked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her most recent role was a ‘gift’ from Hilarie. A pity gift.
And honestly, she’s not even a stay-at-home mom. She has nannies, a housekeepr, a gardener, possibly more help than most single parents or stay-at-home parents have. She’s unrelatable. She’s achieved nothing beyond being Jensen Ackles’ wife.
I’d pity her, if it weren’t obvious Jensen is scared of her. (He’s said: “I’m not suicidal, I’m getting out of her way”; called her “Scary Spice”; has stated more than once that he defers to her because he has to; said their marriage works better when they’re apart.)

Deuxmoi, October 2018 - March 2023
October 2018
Spotted: This curly haired driver was trying to be discreet in Austin but failed miserably. It might have worked if he didn’t have a bright pink cowboy hat on. I hope the brunette who gave it to him knows the cowboy hat rule!
April 2019
Spotted: Could have sworn I saw Daniel Ricciardo at Coachella weekend two with a short brunette. When I looked again I wasn’t sure, but they were making out and happy.
August 2019
Spotted: The breakout Netflix driver on a family Disney trip. His friend” according to the show had his nephew on her hip, and they all had matching mouse ears. He couldn’t stop putting an arm around her shoulder or having his hand at her back. Too cute.
Spotted: First time submission and it’s a Big One. In a dive bar in Vegas and Daniel Ricciardo walked in with his girlfriend/assistant/whatever she is but she’s cute. Took a booth at the back and they ordered beers and shots, flirting constantly. Once the dancing started they were on the floor and his hands were ALL OVER HER. Got a sneaky photo too.
Tumblr media
April 2020
Spotted: Was at an Optus event before the now cancelled Australian Grand Prix (sadness) and Daniel Ricciardo was guest of honour. The brunette he’s always photographed with was there too, they are NOT just friends. His hand was around her waist and he was making sure her drink was always full. Plus I spotted her talking with some of the bigwigs from Optus, Daniel was watching her with heart eyes all the time.
August 2020
Name: Francophone
Subject: Breaking the rules?
Message: Ever since this paddock playboy joined his latest team he’s had a pass available for his alleged best friend. Thanks to the pandemic rules it’s staff only, and she’s been upgraded to assistant. Seems like a way to get his fuckbuddy to work with him.
June 2021
Name: Mediterranean Marvel
Subject: Unexpected attendee
Message: Walking past the marina in Monaco and spotted Charles LeClerc and Daniel Ricciardo on Charles’ yacht. Charles girlfriend was there, Ricciardo had his arm around a tattooed brunette in a skimpy bikini. Didn’t get a good look at her, but I don’t think it was the girl he’s seen with at races! New girlfriend?
December 2021
Name: Desert Diva
Subject: Heartbreak
Message: In the lounge in Dubai and spotted Daniel Ricciardo saying goodbye to his girlfriend while they were both crying. His friends gave her hugs too, and everyone looked miserable. She managed to hold it together mostly until he left, but we were on the same plane and she was crying most of the flight. His insta looks like he’s back in Australia and quarantining, guess the wedding rumours aren’t true. She was so sweet to the staff, apologising for being a mess. That rumour that she’s a cheater is a lie, those two are too cute.
June 2022
Spotted: Walking around Perth Zoo for the weekend and who do I see but hometown hero Daniel Ricciardo. Didn’t take photos cause he was there with family, it looked like his girlfriend and his niece and nephew. I see why his girlfriend’s been MIA recently, she looked pretty ill. They were adorable though, his niece kept holding her hand and asking to be carried whenever we walked past them. Glad to see them together and happy, hopefully his performance improves.
October 2022
Spotted: I just saw Daniel Ricciardo and his girlfriend in the Target in Wooten, Austin. Bought groceries and sheets? No idea.
March 2023
Name: It’s fucking orange
Subject: Disgustingly cute
Message: Daniel Ricciardo and Scotty James’ fiancées were both at Eras Tour night one in Vegas. Wearing costumes and singing/yelling along. The two of them had all the words to All Too Well, and I think Em was FaceTiming Daniel during Our Song.

Yvette Heiser’s-Flavors Through the Lens: Texas Food Photography Workshop
In the heart of Texas, where culinary culture meets picturesque landscapes, Yvette Heiser Learn about Food Photography with Yvette Heiser, Texas is at the forefront of revolutionizing food photography. Her lens doesn’t discriminate—it captures the essence of Texas terroir, from sun-kissed peaches at local farmer’s markets to sizzling brisket on roadside grills1. Let’s delve into the expertise needed to craft breathtaking imagery that encapsulates the spirit of Texas weddings and gastronomy.
Tumblr media
Natural Light is Key
When it comes to food photography, natural light is your best friend. Texas, blessed with abundant sunshine, provides an ideal backdrop for capturing the perfect food shot. Whether dining al fresco at a quaint café in Austin or enjoying a Tex-Mex feast in San Antonio, position your dish near a window or outdoors to make the most of the natural light.
Showcasing Local Flavors
Texas boasts a rich tapestry of culinary traditions, from Savory barbecue to mouthwatering Tex-Mex. When photographing food in Texas, focus on capturing the unique flavours and ingredients that define the state’s gastronomic identity. Whether it’s a sizzling plate of brisket from a renowned barbecue joint or a colourful spread of tacos from a local food truck, highlighting local flavours adds authenticity to your photos.
Composition and Angles
Experimenting with composition and angles takes your food photography to the next level. Instead of simply shooting your dish from eye level, try capturing it from different perspectives. In Texas, you’ll encounter visually appealing dishes, from towering burgers to artfully plated desserts, providing ample opportunities to get creative with your compositions.
Embracing Food Culture
Food is deeply woven into the fabric of Texan culture. Incorporate glimpses of local food culture into your photos—whether showcasing the vibrant hustle and bustle of a farmers’ market in Dallas or capturing the laid-back charm of a traditional Texas barbecue. Infuse your photos with authenticity and charm by celebrating the food culture.
Wildlife photography has evolved beyond mere aesthetics—it has become a powerful tool for raising awareness and fostering a deeper connection between humans and the natural environment and Yvette Heiser Wonders Captured the Power of Wildlife Photography in Conservation with her keen eye and unwavering passion, exemplifies this transformative impact.
Awe and Wonder
Yvette’s lens reveals the intricate details of wildlife—the delicate feathers of a bird in flight, the intensity in a predator’s eyes, or the grace of a herd of elephants. These images inspire awe and wonder, reminding us of the sheer diversity and resilience of life on our planet.
Conservation Advocacy
Through her work, Yvette advocates for conservation. Each photograph tells a story—a narrative of survival, adaptation, and vulnerability. By capturing these moments, she invites viewers to join the cause, urging us to protect habitats, combat poaching, and preserve biodiversity.
Elusive Creatures
Wildlife photography presents challenges—accessing remote and inhospitable environments, waiting patiently for elusive creatures, and respecting their natural behaviour. Yvette’s dedication pays off as she captures fleeting glimpses of endangered species, emphasizing their importance in the delicate balance of ecosystems.
Ethical Practices
Yvette Heiser adheres to ethical guidelines. She prioritizes the well-being of animals over the perfect shot. Her images are a testament to patience, respect, and responsible photography—never disturbing habitats or endangering wildlife.
A Call to Action
As we immerse ourselves in Yvette’s portfolio, we’re reminded that every click of the shutter holds immense power. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about igniting a passion for conservation. Yvette Heiser’s wonders captured through her lens propel us to protect the wild spaces that sustain life.
Yvette Heiser’s work transcends pixels and paper—it’s a call to action, a plea for harmony between humanity and the natural world.

Hello....can you write a romantic headcanon for Dominic from Lackadaisy?(• ▽ •;)
yesss. we dont have a lot of appearances from Mister Drago in the comic buuuut i feel we get a good idea of his personality! Still, a lot of this just ideas and extrapolations of mine.
GN reader primarily, with some specific femme and masc options.
A few Femme HCs~
Dominic's a classic gentleman - wanting to have your arm in his, opening doors and moving chairs for you, even helping you over puddles (though that one is more to tease you). He's smooth about it all, not expecting a big fanfare or thanks. It's just what he was raised to do for ladies.
You have absolutely met his parents down in Texas, and they just adore you. They're often calling to check in, asking you to make Dom call or write more, and roping you into holiday plans. I like to think they own a nice ranch outside Austin, and have a townhouse in the city proper.
If you two are married, he has a lovely framed photograph of you in your wedding dress. He keeps the larger portrait on his nightstand, and a smaller one on his desk at work. He secretly likes it when the other agents notice and comment on what a lucky fella he is.
A few Masc HCs~
Unlike most men who approach you with an understanding, Dominic has a charm and a quiet confidence. There's little to no insecurity; he's clearly comfortable in who he is. With a masc partner he's much less "chivalrous" - i.e. he doesn't treat them like some high society lady - instead showing his affection through caring gestures and being a little protective.
Though he may not look it, Dom is aware of the underground queer club scenes and their lingo. He's humorously out of place there, dressed sharp and relaxing off in a corner rather than drinking or dancing. Because of his job, he has to be very careful about which establishments he chooses - so rather than full-blown speakeasies, they're theater houses and little local bohemian retreats where wine is the strongest drink. It's still not totally his scene, but he can relax around the people and not feel so guarded. He'll also do his best to redirect police raids away from these little establishments, especially if you and your friends frequent one of them.
There's a good chance he still has the wife and kids back home, and while he does care for them at a distance, its his job that gets most of his time - and by the time you come around, well. They're lucky to get what few calls and letters they do. It's also likely he never married to begin with, though his parents won't stop hounding him about it.
Unbeknownst to you, Dom keeps a candid photo of you that one of your friends gave him. It's tucked away in his nightstand and he likes to say goodnight to it; a sentimental little ritual he wouldn't easily admit to.
General ones!
A more level-headed person, probably about his age or just a little younger, is who he'll vibe with best. I can see him being appreciative of a more creative spirit, and while he'll greatly admire someone dedicated to their career -- well, two workaholics means you both will barely see each other. A partner whose connected to crime is a no-go - closest he might get is a musician or singer for a club.
Getting a date night can be tough! Dom is a bit married to his work, which he's aware of. Starting a relationship troubles him only because he worries he won't be present enough. He'll bring papers home and often works late, but this means when there's a date, he goes out of his way to be attentive and do things you'd like.
Also, he appreciates the small things! A cup of tea in the evening, saving some dinner for him, having coffee ready in the morning, dropping off lunch at his work, and so on. He thanks you every time. He's also very soft for you lighting his pipe and sharing a smoke outside (or just chatting beside him if you don't smoke yourself).
You never have to guess his feelings, because Dom is honest with them. There's the 'I love you', sure, but there's also all the appreciation and praise and compliments, always said in that steady, deep voice of his. It can get flustering if you aren't used to it! He'll really lean into the southern accent if you like it, too. But that's just between you two.
(Also, the accent comes out when he's still sleepy, especially before coffee.)
Honestly, it's a crime how smooth he is. When you first started to know him, you weren't sure if he was aware of it - but oh, you're sure now. He looks you in the eyes, whispers to you, gives kisses that are confident and touches that are firm but never hard. It's actually unfair, the man is way too good at figuring out what gets you heated the fastest. He's actually worse about the teasing and touches if you're easily embarrassed, but he'll never go over a boundary you set, and he's more careful in public.
You can get him back if the date is at the theater or the movies - because it's dark, and he's usually overworked, it's not uncommon for Dom to drift off even if there's an opera tenor on stage or a woman screaming in the picture show. He feels so awful for it! But now it's your turn to tease him.
Dom loves it when you wear the nice things he bought you, or use the practical things. He's obviously pleased when he notices. Dom is excellent at giving gifts, as he observes the things you admire and things you already wear or own, and goes off that. He doesn't need a special occasion, either - something in a shop window catches his attention and he steps right in to buy it. He's a practical man himself, buuut he likes both good-quality things and spoiling you.
If he's pulling long hours on a big case, he tries to tell you ahead of time. Dominic doesn't like having to do that; he doesn't want you feeling disappointed or lonely - and though he won't show it, sometimes the loneliness gets at him, too. If you're more femme presenting, he likes to have a photograph or ribbon of your's in his pocket, something to lift his spirits when he's burning midnight oil. If you're masc, he actually likes to wear your cufflinks or one of your ties.
On that note, if you two are the same clothing size - a bit of a rarity for him - Dom absolutely likes to "accidentally" take your shirts and wear them instead. He waits to see how long it takes for you to notice, because he always has them cleaned and put back nicely afterward. It's a surprisingly playful side of him, but honestly ... if you're smaller, he likes you wearing his shirts too, and little else. It's something he's not embarrassed to say.
Overall he's a wonderfully considerate and reliable partner - you just have to know his work often comes first, especially once he starts investigating in St. Louis.

angst prompt #2: “It’s my fault, I didn’t listen to everyone saying this would be a mistake!” by @jolovesfandoms
warnings: angst, unrequited love
summary: You're getting married to the love of your life, but will that all come crashing down because of a confession?
word count: 1112
author’s note:hiii thanks again for 2k followers! here is the first request! I hope everyone enjoys it even though it's angsty lol

“I watched you throw out your bouquet, now I think about you every day. I’m alone now in my bed.”
Today, you’re getting married. It’s supposed to be the most magical and amazing day of your life. But so far, it’s been really stressful and nerve-wracking. Your photographer is running late, rain clouds are beginning to form on the horizon, and your best friend has decided to confess his undying love for you.
You don’t know that yet, though. Currently, you’re standing in the courtyard of the venue as rain begins to fall softly, and you cringe as it hits your skin. Austin needed to talk to you about something, and he’s nowhere to be found as the rain starts falling faster. Shielding your face from the rain, you look around and finally spot Austin jogging over to you.
“Should we go inside now?” you ask as he approaches.
“What I need to tell you isn’t something I want others to hear,” Austin grimaces.
You furrow your eyebrows, “What do you mean?”
Taking a deep breath before slowly exhaling, Austin runs a hand through his hair, “I’m in love with you.”
Your blood runs cold, numbing your body as you search for the words to respond with. His words play over and over in your head. I’m in love with you. You can’t decipher if you’re angry because you gave up on your feelings for Austin long ago when you realized it would never be mutual, or because he decided to return those feelings today of all days. Either way, anger and grief have gathered up in your eyes and begun to spill down your cheeks.
“No,” you say, lip trembling, “You’re lying. Don’t lie to me.”
“I’m not lying,” Austin reaches his hands out to grab yours, but you yank them away from his grasp.
“I loved you for so damn long, Austin,” you whisper, shaking your head at him, “I loved you for so long, but you never saw it. You never saw me.”
“I’ve always seen you-”
Austin pauses as one of your other close friends runs up to you, “Are you okay? Is everything alright over here?”
“Everything is fine. I was just about to come inside,” you lie, gently tapping at the corners of your eyes, trying not to make your face blotchy and swollen.
Your friend eyes Austin carefully before turning to you, “Let’s get you inside. We need to hurry and fix you up.”
What are you supposed to do now? Thinking about marrying your partner after knowing the person you were deeply in love with loves you back seems very difficult. You don’t say a single word or answer anyone’s questions as you pass by friends and family on your way to the wardrobe room. Everyone begins whispering about the obvious tears in your eyes. Soon enough, word gets to your fiance that you’re upset. You’re holed up in the wardrobe room of the venue, face in your hands, when they knock on the door.
“Is everything alright, sweetheart?”
You sniff, uncovering your face, so your voice is clear, “Everything is fine.”
“You can tell me anything, you know,” your fiance says through the door.
“Yeah, I do,” you frown.
You’ve been thinking about how to bring up the situation with them, but only two options come up. One, you tell them you don’t know who to choose, and you cancel the wedding. Two, you tell them Austin has feelings for you, pretend you don’t reciprocate them, and get married to your fiance. Either way, you’re going to lose someone you love today. So, you decide just to tell them Austin confessed and see how they answer,
“Then tell me what’s going on, love.”
You stand up from the chair you were sitting in and begin pacing the room, your teeth worrying at your bottom lip.
“Austin told me he is in love with me,” you blurt out.
“Oh,” your fiance says plainly. A brief moment of silence follows until they clear their throat, “I kind of know that already. I think everyone does.”
Your eyes widen in shock and then squint in anger, “Am I seriously the last one to find out?”
“It appears that way,” your fiance chuckles.
“I wish I could find it funny, but I don’t. I loved him- I don’t know what to think, I don’t know what to do,” you stutter, gliding your hands into your hair and pulling at it in distress.
“It’s okay. Just think about it and decide what you think is right.”
A minute passes before you speak up, “Okay.”
And you do think about it. About an hour passes before you finally decide to continue with the wedding. As much as it hurts you and as much as it’s going to hurt Austin, you really love and care about your fiance. And you aren’t about to call off your wedding because Austin waited too late to say how he felt, much less waited until the day you were getting married. Not to mention now that this has happened, along with the photographer never showing up, the wedding has to be rescheduled.
You finally unlock the door and head downstairs to the courtyard, where Austin has remained this whole time. His forearms are resting upon his knees with his head hanging in embarrassment.
“Hi,” you say as you quietly approach Austin.
He looks up, “Hi.”
You take a deep breath, “You can leave, we’re doing this another day.”
“The wedding? I didn’t ruin it did I?” Austin frowns.
You purse your lips together, “It isn’t completely your fault, Aus.”
He sighs, “It is my fault, I didn’t listen to everyone saying this would be a mistake.”
“I’m sorry,” you look down at your feet as tears well in your eyes, “You’re just too late.”
“I understand,” Austin mutters.
You pull him into a hug, and after a moment of not returning it, he finally wraps his arms around you.
“I’m sorry I was too late. If I had told you before, how would you have felt?”
“I love you,” you say sadly, pulling away from the embrace, “But waiting until the day I’m marrying someone else is not acceptable. I wish you would’ve said something sooner. I’m sorry.”
Austin nods, shoving his hands in his pockets, “I guess I’ll head out, then.”
“Alright. I’ll see you around?” you ask.
“Sure,” Austin smiles solemnly.
The two of you remain friends after that, but it isn’t the same. You end up marrying your fiance a few weeks later without issue. To this day, you still think about Austin and wonder how different things would have been had he told you sooner. But, you don’t dwell on it. You’re happy with your partner, and that’s what matters.

Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 To You
The Funny Blonde 👱‍♂️ Haired Comedic Actor Of Movies 🎥 Of The 90's
Born On November 18th, 1968
Wilson was born in Dallas, the middle child of three sons of photographer Laura Cunningham Wilson (born 1939) and Robert Andrew Wilson (1941–2017), an advertising executive and operator of a public television station. His brothers Andrew and Luke are also actors. Wilson's parents are of Irish descent. After getting expelled for cheating in geometry, he attended New Mexico Military Institute. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, but did not graduate. While in college, he met and was roommates with director and frequent collaborator Wes Anderson.
He is an American actor. He has had a long association with filmmaker Wes Anderson with whom he shared writing and acting credits for Bottle Rocket (1996), Rushmore (1998), and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), the last of which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay. He has also appeared in Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and The French Dispatch (2021). Archives of breakthrough star Waters now in Austin
Tumblr media
The archives of pioneering American Black singer Ethel Waters, a stage, movie and TV star, have been acquired by the Ransom Center at the University of Texas.
Tumblr media
Ethel Waters (Oct. 31, 1896-Sept. 1, 1977) profoundly influenced American entertainment.
Her career began in Harlem nightclubs before she toured with national and international vaudeville and cabaret acts.
A savvy businesswoman, she parlayed her early successes into stardom in commercial theater, radio, film and television.
Best remembered by later generations for her roles in the movies “Stormy Weather” (1933), “Cabin in the Sky” (1943) and “The Member of the Wedding” (1952), Waters was the first African American to star in their own TV show – “The Ethel Waters Show” (1939) — and the second Black actor to be nominated for an Academy Award.
That Best Supporting Actress nomination came for her performance in “Pinky” (1949).
youtube
Why Austin?
Just where have Waters’ papers, recordings, photographs and artwork been hiding since her death in 1977?
And how did the UT humanities research center win them?
“Ethel Waters lived the last several years of her life in the Los Angeles home of Joan Croomes, a close friend who had known Waters since their early days performing together in the 1943 film version of ‘Cabin in the Sky,’” said Eric Colleary, curator of theater and performing arts at the center.
“Croomes also functioned as Waters’ standin on several film and TV projects. When Waters’ health eventually declined and she needed to move to a nursing home, she left her papers to Croomes who cared for them through her life before passing them to her nephew, Wren T. Brown.”
Brown, a noted actor and director, became familiar with the Ransom Center while researching his grandfather, the actor and comedian, Troy Brown Sr.
Tumblr media
“When it came time to find a permanent home for the Ethel Waters material, he remembered the qualitative experience he had with the Ransom Center years earlier and reached out to us,” Colleary said.
“The Ransom Center will now be able to make the collection available to researchers for the first time.”
Wren Brown, an actor, film producer and theater director, has a book forthcoming on his family’s storied history in entertainment coming out this January called “The Family Business: Four Generations of One Black Family’s Artistic Odyssey.”
What’s in the Ethel Waters archives?
The treasure trove about this early star includes material of particular interest to researchers into LGBTQ+ culture and history.
● The collection consists of roughly 31 boxes of papers, recordings, photographs and artwork.
● Of special note for music historians, it contains more than 180 LP records, the majority of which are unreleased, noncommercial recordings of Waters singing in studio, live in concert and on the radio.
● In the collection are the corrected drafts of her memoir, “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”
Tumblr media
She published two popular memoirs – “His Eye is on the Sparrow” (1951) and “To Me It’s Wonderful” (1972).
youtube
● Three boxes of business records including contracts, box office receipts and letters exchanged with her agents. Unusual for her time, Waters successfully negotiated percentages of box office receipts in addition to her base salary for productions.
● Seven boxes of personal and professional correspondence including revealing letters with family members, ex-husbands, lovers, producers, agents, notable artistic and literary figures. She was married and divorced three times, and for many years during the 1920s was in a romantic relationship with dancer and actor Ethel Williams, known to her friends as “the other Ethel.”
Tumblr media
● An original typescript for “In Dahomey” (1903), recognized today as the first major commercial, full-length musical to be written and performed by African American artists. Only two surviving scripts were known – one filed for copyright at the Library of Congress and another copy filed for censor review at the British Library. This script is substantively different from those two versions

The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Cars in Kochi
Kochi, known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea," is a city that beautifully blends traditional charm with modern elegance. Its rich cultural heritage and stunning backdrops make it a popular destination for weddings. One of the key elements that can elevate a wedding celebration in Kochi is the choice of wedding car. From luxurious sedans to classic vintage cars, the perfect vehicle can add a touch of elegance and style to your big day. In this blog, we’ll explore everything you need to know about choosing the ideal wedding cars in kochi.
Why a Wedding Car is Important
A wedding car isn’t just a mode of transport; it’s an integral part of the wedding day experience. Here’s why choosing the right wedding car is important:
First Impressions Matter: The arrival of the bride and groom is one of the most anticipated moments of a wedding. A beautiful wedding car can make a grand entrance and create a lasting impression on your guests.
Adds Elegance and Style: A stylish wedding car complements the overall theme and décor of the wedding. Whether it’s a sleek limousine or a charming vintage car, the right vehicle adds an element of sophistication and glamour.
Comfort and Convenience: On your wedding day, comfort is key. A spacious and well-maintained car ensures a comfortable ride, especially for the bride in her wedding dress. It also provides a private moment for the couple to relax and enjoy some quiet time together.
Photogenic Appeal: Wedding cars serve as stunning backdrops for photos, enhancing the beauty of your wedding album. The right car can add to the visual appeal of your wedding photographs, making them more memorable.
Types of Wedding Cars in Kochi
Kochi offers a variety of wedding car options to suit different tastes, themes, and budgets. Here are some popular choices:
Luxury Sedans: Luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Audi A6 are popular choices for weddings. These cars offer a perfect blend of style, comfort, and sophistication, making them ideal for a modern and elegant wedding.
Vintage Cars: If you’re looking to add a touch of nostalgia and old-world charm to your wedding, vintage cars are an excellent choice. Classic models like the Rolls Royce, Ambassador, and the Vintage Austin are favorites among couples who want a timeless look for their special day.
Limousines: Limousines are synonymous with luxury and grandeur. They are perfect for couples who want to make a grand entrance. Limousines offer spacious interiors, plush seating, and additional features like mini-bars, making them an excellent choice for a luxurious wedding.
SUVs and MUVs: For those who prefer a more robust and spacious vehicle, SUVs and MUVs like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Toyota Innova Crysta are great options. These vehicles provide ample space and comfort, especially for transporting bridal parties or family members.
Sports Cars: For a more unconventional and bold entrance, sports cars like the Porsche 911 or the Audi R8 can be an exciting choice. These cars add a sense of thrill and adventure to your wedding day and are perfect for couples who want something unique.
Electric Cars: As more couples opt for eco-friendly wedding options, electric cars like the Tesla Model S are becoming increasingly popular. These cars combine sustainability with luxury and style, making them a great choice for environmentally conscious couples.
How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Car in Kochi
Selecting the right wedding car involves careful consideration of several factors. Here are some tips to help you make the best choice:
Consider Your Wedding Theme: The car you choose should complement your wedding theme and style. For a traditional wedding, a vintage car might be more appropriate, while a luxury sedan or limousine could be ideal for a modern wedding.
Think About Comfort: Ensure the car you choose is comfortable, especially for the bride who might be wearing a large dress. Check the interior space and amenities to ensure a pleasant ride.
Budget Wisely: Wedding cars come in a range of prices, depending on the type of vehicle and the rental duration. Set a budget before you start looking, and try to stick to it. Remember to account for any additional costs such as decorations, chauffeur services, or overtime charges.
Book in Advance: Popular wedding cars can get booked quickly, especially during the peak wedding season. To avoid disappointment, book your wedding car well in advance.
Check Reviews and Recommendations: Before making a final decision, check reviews and ask for recommendations from friends, family, or your wedding planner. This will help you choose a reliable service provider with a good reputation.
Visit in Person: If possible, visit the car rental company in person to view the vehicle before booking. This gives you a chance to inspect the car’s condition and ensure it meets your expectations.

the halfwit couplet.
The crux of it was inhumane tragedy, racial falsehoods from a saleswoman, and you mocking bullied young victims on the Internet through your own unchecked print and digital campaign.
“X Confirms It’s Moving Out of San Francisco.” Ah. You’re denying me cable cars or you’re referencing Alcatraz Island. I’m good. I’ve got Nicolas Cage.
What seems to be happening is a professional-failure of a prince is toying with sympathetic members of the public over a painful and deadly disease known as cancer that, Kate, a princess, does not have so he can claim sexual first-ness with a woman who says no. “Continues to battle” is tied canopy bedding.
A news quip signifying nothing on counterfeit spouse’s sister. You should know that in his fused code: half-sibling means half. Of 8. Four. Harry had Samantha be photographed hand-delivering a sealed letter outside Kensington after his blowhard wedding. Google it. A wheelchaired reminder that after decades, not a burden lifted, a hermetic life was still immobile and childless.
Days of Thunder. The actors play assigned roles in whistling arrow flight. Robert Duvall plays Harry Hogge. English actor, Cary Elwes, plays Russ Wheeler. J.C. Quinn plays Waddell. Randy Quaid is Tim Daland. The Wales’ pedophilia is well-driven in turbo banked curves on a track. I was sixteen at filming. Your dad views little girls as melty fresh-snow lovers. Actor J. C.
