October 21 2023 Still sick so let’s talk about birthday boy Jere and the transflag. In Berlin Jere picked up a transflag and he was so confused. It turned out he had no idea what the flag even means so we (the audience) had to tell him. Jere really listened to us and genuinely seemed honored to have been trusted with the flag. I can’t type this without crying. I love this man. I took so many pictures of this moment. It was magical. (btw love the ‘Jere can’t be labelled bc he doesn’t know gender’ theories).

sooo…apperently if I don‘t find someone else in the next few days I have to go alone to the berlin gig. Literally everyone I asked has no time or don‘t want to go… Is there someone also going alone or a group that wants to adopt me for a day?🥲 I think otherwise I‘ll return the tickets bc my anxious ass can‘t go alone anywhere… oh yeah…and I have another (1) ticket if someone needs it…🙂‍↕️

Question for all Euro tour people (especially Berlin show): are you planning concert outfits and how extra are they?

(I once went to a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening in full riffraff alien Outfit Cosplay and other than me and a friend almost no one was dressed up 🤣😅 don't want to repeat that. It was still a lot of fun, but I wouldn't have gone this hard had I known about the other people's lack of effort 😅)

When I was returning to the queue around 16 I sprinted past one of those stores only to realize they play Välikuolema??? I wanted to stop for a dance but the queue was already taking shape behind the barriers so I had to hurry.

We went to the same store after the gig and they kept playing various songs on the loop. Some random guys on the streed asked us who the artist is because it slaps, and when they played CCC, we started to sing along and some other random rock guy joined us to dance like crazy. It was magical.

I was so overwhelmed after the Berlin concert I forgot about one thing! When we left the venue to go eat McDonald's, every little store on the street was blasting Käärijä's music, drawing in the people leaving like a flytrap! We loved it! We heard Punainen Marli and Cha Cha Cha at least!

I don't have any good photos from Berlin gig but I still know how to draw so here are some of my favourite moments

When we were singing happy birthday to Luna from Stuttgart-- I mean from Vodka - the Dalttons joined, but not Häärijä, who right at that moment pretended he's one of them

After Cha Cha Cha Häärijä high fived the entire first row as if to say "good job everybody" 😭

I feel stupid because I cannot describe what I have experienced in Huxleys.

The queue, the transparent foil during rain, the Turkish worker pressing us to make some space for the betting (?) point.

Mikke being less pieni than Jere, but still pieni enough. Also his cardio running with the camera before the door opening.

Buying merch from Häärijä. His voice, omg!

All those people I met in a crowd - random German, drinking and talking about the balcony, merch etc. @musicalislife (that was you, am I right?) being adopted by a Polish circle in the queue. That Polish circle (idk if you're here, iirc you're from twt/ig) talking about everything, nothing, singing and so on. @mitamicah such a wonderful person, even if our only interaction was the sticker being given away. The random person (Bydgoszcz representing, totally loving) and the rock rock bracelet. Other people as well.

After kinda getting hit in the socialising aspect by the pandemic I feel wonderful and tbh it's the first time in ages I felt good in a crowd, even if the start was difficult.

Rammstein at the Velodrom Berlin

Today, I want to talk about this amazing gig a tiny bit 🤍

On 18th of May 2001, Rammstein played a gig at the Velodrom in Berlin, which marked the seventh show of the Mutter tour. It was the first of two concerts in this venue and back then, a ticket for this concert cost between 60 and 68DM (Deutsche Mark), which equals to about 30-35€ today.

Both concerts were fully sold out. While the concert was apparently fully recorded and filmed, only the songs "Ich will" and Links 234" were released as video material to the public on the DVD 'Lichtspielhaus' in 2003 as well as audio clips on the bonus tour edition of the Mutter album.

The plan was to use the footage of this whole gig for a Mutter tour DVD, yet this DVD never was released. No official reasons were given for this, but there are rumors that the band seemingly wasn't satisfied with the quality of the recording, didn't think the stage show was interesting enough to be on a DVD or overall didn't like the Mutter tour very much.

There is however a full audio recording of this exact concert available:

One of my favourite recordings so far, Till sounds really powerful, the audience is really enthusiastic and the guitar sound is pretty crisp, especially during the "Adios" solo [the song starts at 24:27min, solo starts at 26:49min]. I'm always so thankful when I find full recordings like this one, it's like a little concert-time capsule ⏲

So all in all: If I would have the chance to use a time machine, I would use it (apart from Live aus Berlin) definitely for this gig. Especially to witness 'Links 234' live in this setting, which blows me away everytime I watch it 🤍
