The 90's have also established several musical paradigms that continue to persist into the modern times as we can hear on many media platforms. One such might be the presence of the Scandinavian scene, which, if you ask me, exploded during the 90's. Sure, you could locate a multitude of cases before, remember Roxette, yet I would claim the era put a strong mark of the industry from these countries. The Cardigans, for instance, are still going on, but I assume many recall them from their hits of the period. Then again, they did manage to sound both indie and pop back then without settling on either. Moreover, they somehow appealed to these two crowds that rarely overlap. How they did this remains an enigma to me, though I would modestly propose they were a great band.

The Scandinavian pop music machine has an interesting tendency that quite a few people actually notice, though I would claim the quality might be one of the reasons for their chart presence, i.e. they musicians from the area always manage to capture their zeitgeist. Check The Cardigans, can you imagine the 90's without them? You can hardly do that, but we cannot claim their success back then is the main cause for this. You see, their idiom corresponds to the era a lot with Gran Turismo, being their most 90's record possible. Unsurprisingly, the disc sold a lot during the time, because they captured what the age was all about. That's why you can listen to a mix of electronica and rock, which many tried to achieve during the epoch, yet they did this melange within the rules of pop.
