Having a chronic illness is wild because you just suddenly stop functioning and it's like, "Oh, OK, I guess I'm just in bed for however many days with no way to plan for the rest of the week" and the government says that you should be able to live on $750 a month like that.

My mom has behcet's disease and im started to show the exact same symptoms as her. At first i had flu like symptoms every couple of months, id go to the doctor and everytime they'd say "it's not covid, flu or strep, we don't know what it is" we assumed it was just a bug going around but now its becoming chronic for me, its happened 2 times this month after expending any energy like a day out with family. No one around me is sick, and what i have isn't contagious. I stay at home anyways but my bf and mom never get it, and its THE SAME ILLNESS EVERYTIME. mouths sores, sore throat, high fever, body aches , and nausea. Its happened more and more frequently FAST. Im seeing a rheumatologist at the end of January, i cant get in sooner bc im traveling for 3 weeks for my ketamine infusion. I pray i wont feel this way while also having to deal with a k hangover.

Anyways my gut really says its something chronic, its definitely not normal sickness. I just hope its not another 4 year journey of not knowing what it is. At least its not as bad as my chronic pain. The fever is awful but my CRPS pain is worse than anything ive ever experienced. I glad im used to the hardest thing before another hard thing comes.

Another funny thing, before we knew i had CRPS they thought it was RA and i was totally convinced it was because i had this huge gut feeling that the medicine for it (humira) was going to help me, i just KNEW IT. And guess what, thats the same meds my mom takes for behcet's.

It's not that I missed the appointment, it's having to explain that the appointment was FOR addressing how chronic fatigue is greatly negatively impacting my life, sleeping through said appointment, and knowing I'll have to call tomorrow. Waste my breath defending myself to someone who isn't going to care, probably lose this doctors services when the whole reason I missed was because of the fucking issue at hand to begin with. I might not even get a chance to defend myself. I don't have the energy to defend myself. I don't have the energy to get a new heart Dr. My meds aren't filling. I don't have it in me to argue with drs and insurance and my fucking pharmacy. I'm so tired. I didn't ask for chronic illness or depression but literally every single person I have to deal with acts like I did. I'm constantly in trouble or shamed for things I can't control and I'm burnt the fuck out.

I've been on Tumblr since the ye old days, when people were here as users and not emotional and cultural hostages. I guess this is my four hundred thousand and first.

It started innocently enough, with fandom memes and early-aughts Goth nostalgia, maybe the occasional politico rally cry. But it is a slippery slope and now, deep into my 30's, I have morphed into a chronically ill, semi-misanthropic, mushroom growing, polyandrist psychonaut. I am literally with two men so archetypal of the early Tumblr Sexy Man trope that is it slightly humiliating. I have green hair and patience like rice paper.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

P.S. Always looking for my Behcet's Babies, Arthritic Angels, Bipolar Brethren and Diabitches...I am so Type 1 that I did it twice. Just five more years, right my pancreatically challenged friends?

One of the most infuriating things people tell me is that I am "too young to be disabled". Even a relative told me this.

Oh, pardon me! I'll just let that pesky autoimmune disease know that they jumped the gun and that I am too young for it to be ravaging my body. I'm sure it will come back at a later date, how impolite of me to develop a chronic illness prior to my golden years!

If you want to know how this is systematically harmful, my attorney warned me when I sought disability that many judges refuse to award it to anyone under 55, period. I was lucky in that the judge I got, who had only a 35% acceptance rate on cases, made me one of those approvals.

This kind of thinking is ridiculously stupid. We don't choose to get sick and there is no age where it is more acceptable to happen. Life sucks sometimes, and so many elements are stacked to make it worse for us.

Young people can have back pain. Young people can have joint pain. Young people can require a cane to get around. Young people can have memory problems. Young people can get migraines. Young people can lose their eyesight. Young people can lose their hearing. Young people can lose their teeth and require dentures. Young people can have neurological disorders. Young people can go through menopause. Young people can have heart attacks. Young people can have strokes. Young people can go through all kinds of things you think only happens to older people and they don’t deserve to be invalidated or bullied just because you have never heard of it.

Nice kalp akçenin, sanat sarraflarının pazarlama dümenleriyle, ayarı tam sikke gibi kapışıldığı çok olmuştur. Böylesine kandırmaca okunmak istemem. Osmanlı kantarlarında hilesiz tartılmak! Eşlerde, dostlarda sevildikten, düşmanlarda, hasutlarda ölüp gittikten sonra, çok ilerde, biz artık yokken, yüreklere, belleklere buruk bir tortu olacak mıyız? İnce eleyip sık dokuyan yazılara, eleklere dolgun konular olacak mıyız? Gerçek okunma, değerlendirilme budur. Meydan okur gibi mi konuştum. Yoo, hayır, beni düşünmeyin!
