Ok so ive finished digital circus and im making some extremely specific spooky coincidences with another thing on youtube called G.17 which released on the EXACT SAME DAY

both digital circus and the other thing called G.17 have the plot of: People get trapped in a vr world where anything can happen which they cannot leave, with the exit being a red door which is being defended by the overlord of the vr world while the people within go insane searching for an escape. The whole vr world is surrounded by a huge void which not even the leader knows whats out there, or at least, they dont want the others to know. all of this and MUCH MORE

G17 with the level of editing, and having its own original ost would have had to be in production for at least months so theres no way they would have copied digital circus, and digital circus would have been in production for months bc of its quality so theres no way either thing would have known about eachother prior.

I'll finally write about something more positive for once. LMFAO.

Ever since I was a teenager, I always have hated my voice because I have been bullied for it a lot. It's something that really took a toll on my mental health and my self-esteem in general... My voice was never exactly the typical "squeaky uwu girl" voice, but more on the androgynous side. At the time I didn't put that much thought into gender identity and craved the feeling of wanting to be a girl. My voice has been called all sorts of things; "weird", "alien-sounding", "too boyish" etc. Which.. really made me hate it, especially when the people around me said it all the time. I was so afraid to talk in my classes. I was afraid of not being taken seriously whenever I had to read out something or wanted to ask a question. I remember crying to my teacher because my voice wasn't the way I wanted it to be. I was in 9th grade.

As I grew up and got more into voice chatting online with friends, no matter if I was gaming with them or not, I began to feel way more comfortable with my voice. To my surprise, everyone told me I sounded normal. I obviously didn't believe any of that and thought they just wanted to be nice to me. Then I started talking with new people over VC as well and.. it really has been a life changer for me. I can talk with confidence about almost anything. I can say all sorts of shit without worriying how it's going to sound to the other person.

One day I decided to buy a better mic and began including my voice in recordings, like video game clips. I even voice acted some stupid memes for friends. I've been making shitty RP films (mostly inspired by people like Bedbanana) with my friends in Garry's Mod and it's the funniest thing ever. It also made me realize how insane my vocal range can be.

It's honestly the best thing I've ever done in my opinion, it's like all the weight I have been carrying over the years has disappeared.

I can finally love my voice. I love listening to my voice. I love hearing my own laughter with friends in clips. It's a very big step in my opinion. Looking more deeply into the topic of gender identity has also changed my opinion on my voice drastically. In a good way.

If someone out there struggles with the same issue I had, I can assure you it will get better if you put enough effort into it. You got this.

watching a bedbananas video that gave me amazing digital circus and hlvrai vibes now has me thinking about my hlvrai au so i'm going to talk about that now

it's called Half Life VR But The Roles have Swapped or HLVR:RS for short

as you can tell by the name, it's a role reversal because that's always the first idea that pops up in my mind when making aus

unlike my other swaps, this one is a little different. instead of everyone swapping, there's only two: benrey with gordon and tommy with g-man. everyone else stays the same. just to spice things up a little!

the story centers on a young man named benjamin calhoun (not related to barney) as he catches wind of a VR version of Half Life 1. him being a big half life fan, he orders it and decides to play.

he puts in his username benrey and volia! he's in. and he's absolutely amazed. the technology is so good, it feels like he's actually in black mesa!

as he explores the lab, he discovers some oddities with this version. like the weird security guard that looks awfully a lot like gordon freeman-

oh wait that's actually gordon WHAT

also there's these scientists named dr. coomer and bubby and g-man's here for some reason.

all of this is very strange, but he can work with it.

he goes to get his HEV suit and it's blue instead of orange.

...eh, must be a custom model like the one he's using.

anyways, time to go to the xen crystal.

but when he gets to the elevator he finds a guard already in. the same guard that gave him access to the lab. when asked why he's here, he says 'for protection' and nothing else.

when ben finally reaches the crystal, he can feel its energy emanating off of it in waves. before he realizes it, he's touching it and it feels much more real than everything else in the game.

was it him or can he hear voices-

then he sees gordon standing in front of the machine, blocking his path. but he acts very differently from the chipper man he met earlier. he's more serious, telling him that he doesn't have to do this, he can just stop right here and leave.

but ben still thinks that it's a part of the game. gordon looks at him and sighs. "alright. don't say i didn't warn you."

he lets him insert the crystal and the Resonance Cascade happens. except it feels real. very real. and then ben blacks out.

when he comes to, the entire facility is a wreck. he hears a voice helping him and it's gordon except he doesn't look like a old-fashioned video game model, but an actual living, breathing person.

eventually he reunites with the others and sees that not only do they look real, but the world does too. he goes to the locker room and doesn't see the avatar looking back, but himself. he has glowing blue eyes now, but other than that it's an exact copy of his irl body.

which means only one thing. he's trapped.

“The Backrooms” “The Poolrooms” “Liminal places” “Analog horror” Look I always appreciate the effort, the attempt, the pizzazz in trying to explore new genres of horror, I really do, but you’ll never nail down “mundane horror”, it’s impossible to perfect it as an artform, because Garry’s Mod servers exist, there are things occurring in Garry’s Mod communities right now that would make the blood vessels in your brain grow teeth just so they could bite your frontal cortex and damage it Phineas Gage style until you are numb and uncaring to the sheer horrors of what you’d learn from said communities and what goes on in those.

I still watch the boys quite often, and thought I should share some SUPER old UNFINISHED arts of them. Mostly from the HS crossover AU. There was so much I wanted to draw and finish for that AU, and I was super excited about it at the time! Seeing my old arts, makes me nostalgic for that time. And sad that the fandom on here kinda died a bit. I hope everyone that remains gets some enjoyment out of these weird artworks! I don’t really draw them these days, but trust me, I’ll never stop watching their streams and content!

Who knows, I might give drawing them again another shot eventually! I just always have struggled drawing real life people, which is why I didn’t draw as much content of them as I wanted to. I just couldn’t draw anyone right!
