@harringrovezine submission! Billy and Steve take a backseat while their cars get busy. Crack taken seriously. Brace for puns.
Summary: When the Camaro rumbles into the Hawkins High parking lot, she catches the attention of a certain luxury vehicle.
Harringrove, Camaro/Beamer (or Bimmer/Beemer whatever you prefer)
Rated G | ~2.2k (slightly expanded version) | Alternating Car POV
thank you @adelacreations and the rest of the zine team for all your hard work!
~🛞~
A car never forgot the moment it came to—became aware. For PC, it was rounding a bend of the Pacific Coast Highway, to the left a sprawling sea, baked cliffs sloping opposite. And inside… was a boy, death-grip on the wheel relaxing, his stiff back gone slack on a long exhale.
He was gazing at the water, mesmerized. Revved the engine, a vicarious roar—but not of rage.
Exultation.
They meandered north for miles, blue horizon painted pink and red, glittering in the sinking sun. Veering onto a rocky shoulder, he hopped on the hood. Reclined, sighing smoke, until the sky had bruised purple.
The boy’s mind wandered on the drive back, and PC got a sense of him then—name, where he lived. Enough to nudge reminders before he missed a turn.
PC learned its own names, too—knew the boy thought of it as a she. Called her Baby. Or sometimes he’d smush the first part of her plate together, PCE, and think peace.
~🛞~
3D didn’t belong here, wasting away parked outside a school. A BMW E23 7-Series? Far more befitting the head of the Harrington family, not his spoiled Lothario of a son.
But no—downgraded months after purchase when the wife gifted her darling husband a Rolls-Royce.
Who could compete? So here it was, surrounded by malformed AMC experiments, rusted-out Oldsmobile barges, decrepit Pintos liable to explode if you looked at them wrong. Oh, and tractors—let’s not forget the occasional farming equipment caked in mud and manure ridden to school for a laugh.
3D could have borne the shocks without blowing a gasket—it was a high-performance vehicle—but then… then the boy made it his mission to bed every girl in town. And 3D had spacious seats. Spacious and luxurious: black leather, gleaming wood trim—not that the paramours would notice, too busy humping while 3D stared out its headlamps at the lake or the trees or wherever it could fix its attention that wasn’t the pair of humans copulating all over its pristine interior.
Finally, the boy hitched himself to a girl with standards, one who preferred privacy. Granted, that relationship coincided with some rather strange occurrences—early on, the boy sped off to a remote property with faulty wiring, lights berserk, and ran inside to much screaming and cacophonous violence. 3D was certain that menace would emerge grievously wounded if he emerged at all, and do you know how hard it is to get bloodstains out of leather?
Well, 3D didn’t, either, but it was bound to be impossible.
Anyway—despite that bizarre hiccup, the boy seemed happy, and so too was 3D.
Happy its rear bench was a Motel 6 no longer.
~🛞~
The blistering hurt he'd stoked from San Diego to Indiana—this despairing, gnashing fury—had simmered to a low-grade pang when PC rumbled into the Hawkins High parking lot, blazing past milling students.
Billy slammed the door—pat the handle, apologetic, before striding off. Max wheeled away on her skateboard.
Though PC was facing the school, she wasn’t limited to staring dully at the brick. Sky through her windshield, a side-view out her windows, the lot behind via the tail lights. In no time, she’d taken stock: not too different from back home. Less pervasive rust from salty air, fewer finishes sun-bleached pale pastel… and the crusty tractor was new… but a parking lot was a parking lot.
That’s what she repeated, again jerking her focus from a gleam in the next row. A BMW—PC had a weakness for German makes. Her first crush was a cute Volkswagen bug that belonged to one of Billy's surfer buddies, but the Beetle couldn’t hold a candle to this burgundy beauty—shining in the sun, the lines of its hood so proud, so pert and compact compared to PC. The appealing rounds of its double headlamps, spider eyes on either side of those distinctive kidney grilles. Like bared teeth.
The plate read 3Ds46T2.
Its wipers twitched, annoyance loud and clear. What?
PC barely reined in the startled beep, hot underhood. But then—well… what else to do when caught so blatantly staring?
She flashed a taillight, a quick, cheeky wink, and the headlamps across the way flared—a bright flush, though brief, firmly repressed.
Didn’t want to push it—the blush perhaps more embarrassment than pleasure—but when she risked a glance, 3D was looking back, intrigued.
At final bell, PC blared both taillights, a last gambit—and her fan belt fluttered when 3D’s wipers swept a wide arc. A farewell.
Half-expected to overheat on the way back to the new house. Like all the coolant in the world couldn’t help her.
~🛞~
A showy, brutish Camaro Z/28 wouldn’t typically warrant more than an irritated huff of exhaust, but a car like that had never been bold enough to… flirt? Just brazenly wink for the whole lot to see, gazing like you were the most riveting object in existence.
It was… well, flattering, obviously—a Camaro was a handsome make, whatever its faults—but more than that, it had thrilled in a way 3D couldn’t shake. So next time the boy pulled into the lot, it gently nudged the wheel, willing them to the front where PCE 235 was sitting pretty.
Maneuvering to park next to the muscle-bound stunner took more of a push—enough to trigger a frown—but the boy rarely fired on all cylinders. He shrugged it off.
3D never dreamed it could be so forward, but the Camaro didn’t mind. Quite the contrary: as the school doors closed on the last straggler, 3D spied its neighbor’s window cracking open. A loaded quiet—then the soft static of the radio searching for a station. Odd squeals, a cut-off twang, belt, chorus, then—
—too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off you. Pardon the way that I stare—there's nothing else to compare.
An earnest crooning Oldie, and—it was like its undercarriage had bottomed out on nothing. 3D flushed hot as a busted radiator.
If you feel like I feel, please let me know that it's real. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off you.
Seeming to sense its struggle for composure, the volume lowered until the song clicked off. The window rolled up, parted lips closing, and the wheel spun, nervous. Crunch of gravel as the front tires turned its way: Your move.
3D choked, butterfly valve sealing shut. The boy’s tastes weren’t exactly varied. Hardly strayed from the local channels piping nonstop Hot 100. But the silence would soon ring of rejection, so it powered the radio, scrambling, poised to blindly crank the dial and hope for the best—
Miracle of miracles. Rushing to open a window, it lowered all four, silently thanking Hump Day Hits of the 60s.
—thought love was only true in fairytales—meant for someone else but not for me. Love was out to get me—that's the way it seemed.
Spontaneity sparking, it left the windows down. Let the whole lot hear! What did it care what they thought?
Then I saw her face! Now I'm a believer. Not a trace of doubt in my mind…
Last bell, after hours of trading silly ditties, their batteries were dead, and 3D was in love—felt drunk on diesel, sappy sentiment gumming up its engine.
PC. How wonderful, those two letters. And a she. Fascinating.
Their drivers were baffled at both needing a jump—a much remarked upon coincidence. Waiting for their cars to revive, the boy made awkward small talk with PC’s human—a blond ruffian who smoked like a chimney.
The boy asked the ruffian—Billy—if he was going to the Halloween party later.
Billy was.
“See ya there, man,” he said, tapping 3D’s roof. It would have cringed at the fingerprints left behind, if not for a more pressing thought.
It would see PC that night.
Perhaps all night.
~🛞~
Billy was nervous—PC could tell by his fidgeting grip, Metallica blasting. Odd outfit, too: leather jacket, shirtless, with fingerless gloves.
He parked behind 3D, no encouragement necessary. Before he’d even disappeared inside the pulsing house, PC waved her wiper, overeager but suddenly—shy.
They seemed to mutually agree not to drain their batteries again. Instead, at the risk of coming on too strong, PC reached out with the nebulous consciousness linking her to her body, linking her to Billy… until she felt a psychic bump. Not enough to dent. Just… alert.
She’d never done this—gone beyond basic flirtation—but something about 3D made her bold… and maybe Billy’s loneliness, the aimless despair bubbling under his skin since the move… maybe that had bled over more than she’d realized.
A bump, and she almost ignited her own engine, so intense was the bolt of excitement. 3D was reaching back, willing to open to her—
She had no idea how much time had passed, so submerged in their mingled selves, when Billy stumbled against her with a grunt, a slurred curse. The icy jolt must have transferred before she cut off to focus on the problem sagging at her door—a problem she knew too well.
Billy unlocked her after a couple tries, more falling than sitting in the driver’s seat. Shoved the key in the ignition—groaned when the engine wouldn’t start.
“Not tonight, baby—I’m fucking fine.”
She remained unmoved, even as he slumped, forehead knocking on the wheel.
“Just start! We’re three streets away, for fuck’s sake.”
An insistent bump—so unrelenting that she reconnected, conveyed through images, flashes of memory, that this was just something they did: Billy would drink too much, and she wouldn’t start until he was sober. But that only triggered a renewed wave of concern, a series of impressions in return: pulling over to assist a family broken down, the kids shivering in the chill evening air of autumn; 3D’s human, breath misting, joking with a pretty brunette about drinking until they were warm, the girl informing him that booze made you more vulnerable to frostbite.
But… it wasn’t nearly cold enough for that, right? Although what did she know? It had taken ages to warm up this morning. How cold was too cold?
Maybe Billy would just… go back inside the house. Or she could—start the engine but jam the accelerator? Or—
Billy jumped when 3D’s horn blared, obnoxious in the still night, its headlights flashing with each trumpeting blast.
Not a minute later, PC understood in a burst of gratitude: 3D’s human trotted from the house. He would help. Flinging open the door, she spun her wheel, sharp.
A grunt, and Billy spilled onto the pavement. “Bitch.”
The alarm died with a chirp. “Hargrove?”
Billy sighed, flopping backward. “Fuck off, Harrington.”
Harrington did not—kept coming until he towered, hands on hips. Prodded Billy with a curious foot.
“You wanna be roadkill, or what?”
Bratty snort. “Or what.”
“Well, in the interest of not scraping you up tomorrow, how about I drive you home?”
Billy propped himself on elbows. A hum, considering. “Pass.”
PC resisted whacking him with the door. From his expression, Harrington felt much the same.
“Take you to mine, then.” Stooping, he stuck his hand out, waiting while Billy curled his lip, rolled his eyes—finally took the hand.
3D’s lights beamed worry as Harrington started the engine, Billy safe in passenger. PC twitched a wiper—shoo—and settled in by the curb. Small price for peace of mind.
~🛞~
At some point between disappearing into the Harrington house and emerging in the early dawn, something had happened—3D couldn’t begin to guess. The surly quiet of last night now buzzed like coins in a cupholder. Glances darted, never meeting.
3D resisted cranking the radio to drown out the awkward. Or redirecting the beads of condensation cutting through the misted windows so their dewy paths spelled HELP.
It rumbled with relief to see PC, glistening in the gloom, right where they’d left her.
“Last night,” Billy said, as they rolled to a stop. “We—it can’t happen—”
“You scared?” The arched brow was bluster, his frame rigid with nerves.
“You dumb?” Sneered it, scathing.
He was dumb, 3D would vouch for that, but the boy only glared. Billy huffed, paired an eye roll with a shake of his head, reaching for the door.
A lesser vehicle would’ve missed the other hand pounce across the console, but 3D fogged the windows just in time.
No one saw the driver yanked sideways by the shirt, arrested by snarling lips pressed to his own—or the hands that grappled in reply, cupping cheek and chin, fingers sinking into hair.
No one saw, but PC knew—was practically dancing, wipers waving, front wheels pivoting left and right. And usually 3D would sigh, resign itself to rounds of necking and worse, but it couldn’t muster the fumes.
Because it would put up with anything—happily, no matter the wear and tear—for more time right here, sharing PC’s air.
Since keeping one meant keeping the other, this would be no fling. Not if 3D could help it.
What was it humans liked to say?
My way or the highway.

something’s gotta give (j.h.s.)
a/n: my finger slipped.
summary: Jake makes a decision.
inspired by camila cabello’s “something’s gotta give” and taylor swift’s “the last time” | part of the maroon universe
warnings: age gap (reader is 22, Jake is 33), angst, break-ups, non-linear story telling, i’m working on a follow-up piece to this, referenced sex
word count: 869
“no reason to stay is a good reason to go”
The light in the kitchen is dim as you walk into the entryway, pausing a few feet from the kitchen island. Bradley glances at you from where he’s fiddling around on his phone, glass of water sitting in front of him. It takes him a second but he glances back up at you again, putting his phone to sleep as he stands up from the chair.
"Hey kid, are you okay?”
You take a shaky breath, pulling your hair to one side as tears sting your eyes. “Um-”
Bradley furrows his eyebrow, taking a step closer for you, arm already outreached to pull you into a hug. “Hey, hey, what happened?”
The words leave you in one fell swoop before you’re ever even really sure you want them to.
“Jake broke up with me.”
-
The ocean breeze floats through your hair, sending a shiver down your spine as your wet hair drips on to your shirt. Your eyes are unseeing, too focused on the war inside of you.
“I never should’ve moved back to San Diego.”
Your Dad looks to you but your eyes remained focused on the crashing ocean water.
“I’ve been fucking miserable here. And I tried, I tried to make it work, to believe you all those times you said that it was going to be different. And I tried to make it work with the team, with the job, with Jake, but-” You pause, blinking. “No reason to stay is a good reason to go.”
-
You feel the fabric of Bradley’s cotton white t-shirt hitting the side of your face as he draws you into a hug before you process that the words have left your mouth.
You bite your lip, determined to keep the tears in because you’re sure that once you let go, you might shatter in Bradley’s arms.
“Hey, what happened? I thought things were going so good.”
“I thought so too, but he- he fucked me and then he dumped.”
Your lip trembles, first tear traitorously slipping down your face as Bradley stiffens.
“He what?” His voice is dangerously quiet.
He pulls away, just enough to look you in the eye. You take the opportunity to step back, tears running down your face now as you make a futile attempt to wipe them away on the back of your wrist.
“We were- we were laying bed after, you know, and I was telling him about how the last guy I had been with didn’t really give a shit about me, that he took more than I could give, but how he- he didn’t make me feel like that and Jake- he-”
A sob escapes your mouth and your hand flies up to cover it, knowing the minute your Dad wakes up, all hell will break loose. Bradley knows this too, shushing you as he pulls you back into another bug, muffling your sobs, but it’s pointless, the sound of the bedroom door opening.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Maverick’s voice comes, followed by the kitchen light being flicked on.
“Kiddo, what happened?” Your Dad says and you feel his hand fall on your back, rubbing comfortable circles with your thumb into your shoulder.
“Jake broke up with her.” Bradley says after a minute of silence when it becomes clear you’re not going to say anything.
“Son of a bitch.”
-
The car door shuts, the ocean breeze floating in through the outdoor drop-off section of the airport. Maverick sighs, settling his hands in his coat pockets.
“It’s not too late, you know? You don’t have to do this.”
He’d been the only to come see you off as you left to start over. Insisted he drive you.
You shrug, tugging stray hair behind your ear that’s been blowing in the wind. “I’m sorry Maverick.”
He sighs again, taking a step towards you, tugging you into a hug. “I love you, kid. This’ll always be your home. You’re always welcome here.”
You take a deep breath, trying to memorize the way he smelled of jet fuel and ocean breeze, the way the scent had always brought you comfort and familiarity.
“Just because Jake is gone doesn’t mean you’ve got to go.” He says and the words make you take a step back, arms falling to your side.
It feels final, leaving like this.
You sigh, pulling the handle of your suit case up as you step back on to the curb before facing him one last time.
“No reason to stay is a good reason to go.”
-
Your phone illuminates on the nightstand as you shift the covers back to slip under. You frown, sighing to yourself as you know who it is.
At this hour, there’s only one.
You stand up from the bed, walking over to the window.
There he is, staring up at you with pleading eyes.
You heave another sigh, tears stinging your eyes as you draw the blinds shut, blocking his figure from view.
You flick the lamp off, plunging the room into darkness. You count your breaths in a fruitless attempt to keep the stinging tears at bay.
No reason to stay is a good reason to go.

Alright I said I was gonna make a sappy post for my 30th birthday so here it goes!:
I never thought I would live to see 30. I know that many people say that, and I'm sure that sentiment isn't unique on here. Here's the thing; I'm disabled. I have almost died due to my health 3 times since 2011 and indeed did once before being brought back. My immune system is nonexistent, and my chronic pain has me at currently 6 reconstructive back surgeries and round the clock pain medication.
When I was 17 years old, I became a victim of medical malpractice and had my entire life changed in an instant. Didn't get to go off to college, didn't get to work normally, didn't get to move out - didn't, didn't, didn't. For years, I was told that I would heal. That I would be fine. I was young! Young people don't get sick. I'll bounce back. Just be patient. But I didn't get better, I got worse. And every year older was another year into my 20s where I wasn't able to do "the normal stuff." I never finished college, but I did get some classes done. I would work for a few months before needing to quit. I got married and then divorced. All "failures" due to my health.
At 27, I went to see my therapist and sat down and told her that I couldn't see into my future. I remember telling her, "Every day is hell. I can't do this for another 10 years. I've barely made it through this last 10. I don't even know if I can do it for another 3." I was at the end of my rope, convinced that I wouldn't make it. My back was crumbling underneath me again, and insurance was fighting me tooth and nail to be approved for another surgery. I was bedridden. I was on the highest medication load I've taken, and it wasn't even touching my pain. I wasn't connected to anything - not my art, not friends, not the world around me. I was looking very seriously at my options of what I thought was either suffering or dying.
So, she suggested a mindfulness program. It was a 6-week course at UCSD (University of California San Diego) that taught you how to. essentially, live in the moment. At first, I thought it was honestly the stupidest thing I'd ever heard. I'll admit that I was sour on it, but I said I would try it and I paid for the class so I did it. I sat through the meditations, wrote on the topics they gave, went through the exercises they instructed, and did the full day retreat. And at the end of those 6 weeks, I was alive again. I learned to savor every bite of my food. I learned how to pay attention to the sun on my skin. I learned to enjoy how it felt to have my air move in and out of my lungs. I learned how to look in the mirror and love what I saw and dress myself in what made me happy (this is when I started with the disco clothes). The warm feel of skin, the taste of my favorite soda, the beautiful way my cat purrs, the glorious smell of rain, the lovely way dust looks illuminated by the sun - I learned how to Live.
My life is still hard. My pain has not improved. I did get that surgery, so now my back is thankfully more stable than it's ever been. I know that I probably won't live a very long time compared to most, but none of that makes me sad anymore, not really. I have my bad days, and I have my good days, and no matter what, I live in the moment. I feel my emotions and let them have their space within me before letting them flow. And after over a decade of not touching my art because I felt like it was robbed from me, I paint now. I paint for myself, and I paint for others, and by God, I enjoy every second of it. I feed the little barn cats out in the back of where I live now, and I love them. I enjoy the sound of the wind through the oak trees, and I listen to my music, and I take pictures of the bugs. I watch the clouds race by when it's about to storm, and I talk to the flowers that grow outside my fence. I love my bed for holding me on my bad days and love that I have pretty artwork from friends hanging on my walls to comfort me when I can't leave my room. I dress up in my fun disco stuff whenever I can, and on the days I can't, I enjoy my soft, comfy pj's. I talk to my friends online every day and apologize for the days I can't when my pain makes it too hard to think. I play fun video games and watch good movies and enjoy fun podcasts. I Live.
Today, I am 30 years old. I have lived through what should have killed me many times over. And I am so, so happy I am here. And for however long I have, I will continue to live in the moment, enjoying the days and moments I can and allowing the bad to simply be bad. I plan for tomorrow because that is all I can plan for.
I live, and that is enough.

The tour will cover 30 cities, including stops in Chicago, Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, and a hometown concert in Brooklyn. L’Rain, Vagabon, and Discovery Zone will join Crumb on select dates. The full tour schedule is available below, with tickets going on sale this Friday, April 26th, at 10 AM local time. Discussing the new single, Lila Ramani of Crumb explains: "‘The Bug’ has been part of our musical journey since the early days, before the Jinx era. It started in a motel in Nebraska where I woke up covered in bed bug bites. Unable to sleep, I roamed the motel humming what would eventually form the outro of the song. As we recorded it years later, it gained a deeper, more tender meaning—the 'bug' isn't just an insect; it can be a friend, a lover, or a persistent late-night thought." Check out “The Bug” below: AMAMA represents Crumb’s most carefree and heartfelt work to date, mixing poetic abstraction with introspective honesty and inventive soundscapes. The album showcases Crumb in a dynamic and lively mode, incorporating elements like glitchy vocals, cell phone recordings, nautical sounds, sax mouthpiece solos, distorted drum samples, and piano strings muted with Silly Putty. Set for release on May 17th through Crumb Records, the album includes the title track "AMAMA," a vibrant homage to Lila Ramani's grandmother. This track is further enhanced by a music video directed by Abraham El-Makawy, which blends Lila’s archival home footage with fan-submitted artwork, creating a poignant mosaic of nostalgia. With its blend of psychedelia, pop, jazz, and rock, AMAMA further cements Crumb's distinctive musical identity. The album, produced in Los Angeles with Johnscott Sanford and Jonathan Rado, reflects on themes of stability, connection, and clarity amidst a nomadic life. In 2023, Crumb released the single “Le Temple Volant” with Melody’s Echo Chamber, earning praise from Pitchfork, The FADER, Stereogum, and others. AMAMA continues the narrative arc from their earlier works, including the self-titled EP Crumb, Locket, 2019’s Jinx, and 2021’s Ice Melt, which Rolling Stone described as "a captivating trek to the metaphysical and back down to Earth.” Upcoming Tour Dates * with L'Rain and Discovery Zone ^ with Vagabon 7/18 - Des Moines, IA @ Wooly's 7/19 - Minneapolis, MN @ Varsity Theater 7/21 - Chicago, IL @ Pitchfork Music Festival 8/20 - Philadelphia, PA @ Brooklyn Bowl * 8/21 - Silver Spring, MD @ The Fillmore Silver Spring * 8/23 - Richmond, Virginia @ The National * 8/24 - Charlotte, NC @ The Underground * 8/25 - Atlanta, GA @ Buckhead Theatre * 8/27 - Nashville, TN @ Brooklyn Bowl * 8/28 - Indianapolis, IN @ Deluxe * 8/30 - Detroit, MI @ Saint Andrew's Hall * 8/31 - Toronto, ON @ The Concert Hall * 9/01 - Montreal, QC @ Théâtre Beanfield * 9/04 - Brooklyn, NY @ Brooklyn Paramount * 9/05 - New Haven, CT @ Toad's Place * 9/06 - Boston, MA @ Roadrunner * 10/03 - Santa Cruz, CA @ The Catalyst ^ 10/04 - Oakland, CA @ Fox Theater ^ 10/05 - Sacramento, CA @ Ace of Spades ^ 10/07 - Salt Lake City, UT @ The Depot ^ 10/09 - Denver, CO @ The Mission Ballroom ^ 10/11 - Dallas, TX @ Ferris Wheelers ^ 10/12 - Houston, TX @ White Oak Music Hall ^ 10/13 - San Antonio, TX @ Aztec Theatre ^ 10/15 - Austin, TX @ Emo's ^ 10/17 - Albuquerque, NM @ El Rey Theater ^ 10/18 - El Paso, TX @ Lowbrow Palace ^ 10/21 - Santa Ana, CA @ Observatory OC ^ 10/22 - San Diego, CA @ Observatory North Park ^ 10/23 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Wiltern ^ Read the full article

Obviously I have a lot of thoughts 🤭
By your parents' last evening in San Diego, Bradley had put them in touch with the realtor he used to buy the Craftsman. They spent hours walking around Coronado with Rose in her stroller all week, looking at houses and getting more ideas. And then they delayed their flight home two times. The fact that they didn't seem to want to leave their grandchild was heartwarming, and now they were seriously talking about moving.
They are thriving in their new roles as grandparents 🥰
The two of you were going to need a little vacation to look forward to.
Relatable, I too always need a trip or vacation to look forward otherwise I will get anxious lol
"What?" he rasped, thinking about last week in the backseat of the Bronco. That was the last time the two of you really messed around, and he could tell there were moments when you were uncomfortable in your own skin. But he hadn't stopped wanting you for a single moment. "How do you expect me to watch you strutting around the bedroom completely naked and not get hard?"
Bradley is struggling 😂
You shrugged and looked at him out of the corner of your eye. "Only if you want to." He was up off the bed in an instant, grabbing you as gently as he could. "Roo," you gasped in surprise as he carried you back to the bed. You were completely naked, head on his pillow, leg hitched around his hip, and Bradley kissed you so hard, you were moaning. "If you leave the decision up to me, I'm always going to want to show you how I feel about you," he said, voice deep and needy. His fingers grazed along your body, lower and lower until he touched your clit, and you arched off the bed.
🤭🥰🤭🥰
"I got her," you murmured when you walked into the room, and you realized your mom was crying. "Are you okay?" She kissed Rose's head and whispered, "Of course. I just don't want to be so far away from the three of you. Rose is exactly the way you were as a newborn; a sweet little snuggle bug who turns into a bit of a terror when she's hungry. I can't get enough of her."
That's just so sweet 🥹🥰
"I got her," you murmured when you walked into the room, and you realized your mom was crying. "Are you okay?"
He loves his Nugget time, no matter what day or night time 🥰
Bradley desperately wanted to scold you for swearing in front of the baby, but he used every fiber of his being to press his lips together and clear his throat. "It's the Nugget's first time at any beach. We're just going to have to see how long she lasts before we need to bring her back."
First trip to the beach!!! So exciting! I love that you included their first little outing 🥰 🫶🏻 It also shows the chaos and new situations that come with it, I absolutely love it 😍
It was actually so beautiful outside, Bradley was thankful it was a Saturday. You took his hand in yours, waving at the neighbors along the way. "You look stupid sexy with that baby carrier on, Roo." "Stupid sexy?" he muttered, adjusting the little sun hat on Rose's head. "Explain." "I tried," you groaned. "But you don't listen, Bradley. You're a DILF. Even the way you're taking care of Rose is hot. Like you're already handsome, but now you're just oozing so much sex appeal, it's stupid. Like an ovary explosion." You made a sound like a bomb blowing up and gestured with your hands in front of you as you walked. "Yeah... I don't see it," he murmured, reaching for your hand again. When he looked in the mirror now, he saw more gray hair and quite a few wrinkles, but that didn't stop him from trying to be the best dad he could. "I'm just focused on Rosie. You and Rosie. My girls."
They are both a DILF and MILF respectively, and neither of them sees it themselves😅 it comes with so much adoration for each other in their new roles, it's a process to come to that realization probably 🤭
The expanse of sand and the glittering water beyond were so bright, Bradley shielded her face, and she burrowed against him. "It's okay, Rosie," he murmured, kissing her hat as he hustled along the mostly empty beach. "Daddy's got you. I'll get you set up with some shade. I like the shade better, too."
🥰🥰🥰
"You have a beautiful family," she said, smiling at Rose who was currently yawning. "Thank you," Bradley replied, turning a bit so she could get a closer look. When she offered to take a photo of the three of you, he had you reach into the pocket of his cutoff jean shorts and unlock his phone for her. Bradley looked ridiculous in the picture with windswept hair and streaks of sunblock on his face and shoulders, but you and Rose both made it his new favorite photo. He set it as his phone wallpaper.
Aww what a perfect way to end and commemorate their first little outing 🥰
"No," Maria told him. "You're not. And you look constipated." "Absolutely not," Cam replied. "I need to keep two hands on the baby at all times." He got an eye roll in response from you as you told Maria, "Sure, and I also need you to tell me why you're limping. Are you okay?" A devilish smirk found her lips. "Maybe you should ask Bob about that one."
Ahaha I love their banter 😂
You knew how Bob looked at her. Like she was a mermaid. Or a fairy. Something magical and unbelievable. Maria wasn't known to be gushy or sappy, but she talked about him like he hung the moon, and that was all you needed to know.
I love that dor them 🥰🤗
"I had a long day," he whispered. You were a little worried that something happened that made him seem so tired, but he smiled as he said, "But your appointment with Dr. Morris later this week is going to make it all worth it. I can't wait to hear her tell me I'm allowed to fuck my wife."
Someone is excited 😅
You heard Bradley's groan of delight from the kitchen as he took a bite of dinner. "This is delicious, but still not as delectable as you, Baby Girl." Even when your brain told you not to believe him, your heart did.
🥰🥰🥰
You were hiding your smile behind your hand, but he could tell you were laughing as Dr. Morris humored him. "Well, the guidelines say six weeks, so I would absolutely stick to that. We like to make sure proper healing has occurred. If you don't start taking oral contraceptives right away, I would definitely advise you to use condoms." She glanced at your chart and added, "Two more days probably won't kill anyone, and at that point, you'll be at six weeks." "Speak for yourself," he grunted, slipping Rose back into her car seat carrier.
Hahahaha I loved that she set Bradley up to ask the question 😂 And Bradley’s comment?! It cracked me up so bad 😂😂😂
Bradley simply held up his phone screen for you to see the alarm which was titled My wife is exactly 6 weeks postpartum. You rolled onto your side, cackling with laughter. "It's not funny, Baby Girl. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time." He snuggled under the covers and said, "I'm ready to get my world rocked whenever you feel like rocking it, so you just let me know."
Probably the longest 6 weeks of his life and he has been on aircraft carriers with awful food for longer 😅

"By the end of the year, we are moving" your mom said, burping Rose in the living room. "I just can't stand the idea of waiting until July to see her again. Makes me want to cry."
It was April now, and they promised to come back for a visit around Independence Day. Bradley already had plans circling in his mind about where he could take you for a few days alone, because things were about to get a lot tougher without your parents around. The two of you were going to need a little vacation to look forward to. And if he could get you alone, he could get his hands all over you as much as the two of you wanted.
"So, are we going back to Mexico or Hawaii in July?" Bradley asked later that night while he watched you get undressed before bed. Your tits looked incredible, nipples huge and pert as you removed your nursing bra.
He forgot what he had even asked you as you ran your fingertips along your breasts and scoffed at him. "Neither, Roo. We have to get serious about saving money for Rose to go to college in just eighteen years." When you pulled your shorts down, he could see your rooster tattoo, and now he really couldn't think.
Bradley grunted. "She'll get a full ride to school. She takes after you. She's already a genius. Whenever I call Tramp, she points right at the dog."
You sighed and smiled at him. "I think you're being optimistic." Your hands were back on your tits, and he immediately reached for his cock, your eyes tracking his every move. "Bradley."
You turned toward the bathroom for a few seconds and muttered, "I look weird."
"You look beautiful." When you finally met his gaze, he said, "I love you too much to lie to you, Sweetheart."
He was plainly hard in his boxer briefs with his hand resting on his thigh. He'd never try to pressure you to do anything physical if you didn't want to, but there was no way he was going to let you think you suddenly turned him on less than before.
You dragged your fingers across your breasts again, and Bradley groaned before you tangled your fingers in your necklace chain. You looked a bit bashful, and even that was fucking him up.
His voice was raspy, and his throat was dry as he sat up and asked, "Do you want me to show you?"
You shrugged and looked at him out of the corner of your eye. "Only if you want to."
He was up off the bed in an instant, grabbing you as gently as he could.
"Fuck," you moaned, voice breaking.
"You're so fucking hot," he whispered, running just his index finger through your pussy. You were soaking wet. "You're killing me, Baby Girl." He traced your tattoo, decorating your skin with your wetness while you looked up at him with parted lips and half lidded eyes. You watched him bring his finger up to his lips, and with one swipe of his tongue, he was moaning, too. "Six weeks is a long time when you look this pretty and taste this sweet."
Your teeth sank into your lip before you murmured, "You're killing me, too." Then your fingers were tangled in his hair, and he eased his body down so he was resting against the warmth of your core. It was so close to what he wanted right now, but he knew he couldn't go all the way there. The frustration building inside him was almost pleasurable as you gasped his name as he sucked on your neck.
Nails pressing into his scalp, you didn't stop him when he pulled himself free from his boxer briefs and ran his cock through your pussy. "Jesus Christ," he hissed, guiding his hips away from your body as you pushed him off of you. But instead of telling him to stop, you rolled him onto his back and yanked his underwear down his legs.
His cock was in between your lips before he knew what was going on, and he saw stars as you sucked on him. "Fuck, Sweetheart. Oh, god."
You pulled him free and shook your head. "If you can't be quiet, then I can't give you a blowjob. My parents are out in the living room."
"Please, stop talking about your parents and just give me head," he begged, already panting as you smirked at him. His balls were already tight as you licked your lips and parted them once more for him. Your tits looked irresistible as you knelt between his spread legs, and he would be lucky to last a full minute with this kind of treatment. "I was supposed to be the one showing you how much I want you," he whispered, trying not to thrust up into your mouth.
You responded by taking him deeper until he was grabbing at the bedding to hold back his orgasm. This time when you pulled him free, your saliva dripped onto his thigh. "Just take what I can give you right now."
Two pumps of your fist, and you were sucking on him until he came long and hard, fist in his mouth to make sure he was quiet. You swallowed down his cum and licked him clean as he stared at the ceiling in a daze. "You give me everything."
------------------------------
You fell asleep with a smile on your lips after your husband took his time with you, rubbing your clit with practiced fingers and whispering the dirtiest things about how good he was going to fuck you in another few weeks. As it turns out, you also needed to be reminded to be as quiet as possible, especially when he was a whining mess over your breasts.
Even though you knew Rose would have you up in a few more hours, you let yourself drift off to the sound of Bradley's heavy breathing and the warmth of his body. Whenever you started to feel bad about the way you looked, he seemed to be able to lure you back on track. He didn't mind your weird body one bit, and in fact, he was literally counting down the days until you and he could have intercourse. And you wanted it, too.
You barely heard your daughter when she started crying to eat around midnight, because your mom was in the nursery with her so quickly, it was ridiculous. When you padded down the hallway, still half asleep, you could hear her singing to her granddaughter.
"I got her," you murmured when you walked into the room, and you realized your mom was crying. "Are you okay?"
She kissed Rose's head and whispered, "Of course. I just don't want to be so far away from the three of you. Rose is exactly the way you were as a newborn; a sweet little snuggle bug who turns into a bit of a terror when she's hungry. I can't get enough of her."
You laughed as you sat down in the glider, and she handed your daughter to you once you were ready to feed her. Rose curled up against your body, clearly very hungry. "She is honestly so sweet."
"I love her so much," your mom whispered. "Are you going to be okay when we leave in a few hours?"
You stared at the night light in the corner of the room, surrounded by darkness otherwise. The exhaustion you felt since Rose was born started to get better while they were here, and you knew for a fact that things would start to get harder again soon. "Yeah. We'll be okay. Bradley and I will take some vacation time in July when you come back to stay with her." You met your mom's eyes where she stood. "You and dad are really good at this."
"I'm happy you think so," she said softly. "Retirement is looking better by the minute."
She sounded like she was about to cry again, so you politely kicked her out of the nursery before she could start. She needed to get some rest before their flight home, and you needed to get used to doing this on your own again. You almost craved the routine of going back to work. You missed seeing Cat every day, and you even missed your boss. Rose would be old enough for the daycare pretty soon, and you could sneak over on your lunch breaks to check on her.
But at the same time, the idea of someone else taking care of her for eight hours a day had you almost panicking. "Why are you like this?" you whispered to yourself. You could barely control your emotions at times right now.
"My girls okay?"
Just hearing Bradley's voice made you relax, and you realized Rose was starting to slow down as you turned to look at him in the doorway. "Yeah. I was trying to let you sleep."
He gave you grabby hands, and you noticed he had the Nugget notebook tucked under his arm. "Let me burp her and read a bedtime story so you can go back to sleep."
You knew he had to drop your parents off at the airport in a few hours and then turn around and go right to work, but he wasn't going to be deterred. He took Rose and settled down on the floor with a grunt, kissing her head as she yawned. With the night light shining next to him, he juggled her and opened the notebook, and you stood in the doorway and listened for a few minutes as he read one of his entries to her.
"You'll never guess where I am right now. No really. It would be impossible, because even I don't really know where I am! But it's somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, I know that for sure. And while I'm really, really far away from you and your mom right now, the two of you are all I can think about."
--------------------------------
Bradley was standing in the living room wearing Rose in her carrier and holding two massive bags filled with gear. "Is this all really necessary?" he asked as you ran around grabbing more stuff.
"Do you think we should drive?" you asked, popping the stroller open and looking at it with concern.
"Sweetheart, the beach is like three blocks away," he replied, trying to keep his tone even.
"The beach with a lot of rocks is like three blocks away," you said, exasperation lacing your voice. "Do you think we should drive up to the better beach?"
In his opinion, all of the beaches in Coronado were going to be the same, as long as the two of you didn't attempt to walk down the cliffs beach with her yet. "I think we should just go to the closest beach for a little bit and then head home again."
You sighed in annoyance. "Just for a little bit? Well then what was the point of packing all of this shit?"
Bradley desperately wanted to scold you for swearing in front of the baby, but he used every fiber of his being to press his lips together and clear his throat. "It's the Nugget's first time at any beach. We're just going to have to see how long she lasts before we need to bring her back."
"Fine," you replied, picking up the bag of sandwiches you packed and heading for the front door. "I just wish I knew why babies required so much stuff. Nothing about this is easy."
He followed in your wake. "I'm pretty sure all the babies of the world got together and plotted against their parents, because all of it is hard." At least that got a smile out of you as you plunked your sunglasses onto your nose, and he followed you out to the porch. "Let's just leave the stoller here. I like carrying her."
It was actually so beautiful outside, Bradley was thankful it was a Saturday. You took his hand in yours, waving at the neighbors along the way. "You look stupid sexy with that baby carrier on, Roo."
"Stupid sexy?" he muttered, adjusting the little sun hat on Rose's head. "Explain."
"I tried," you groaned.
My girls."
You gave him side eye. "That's what makes it stupid," you muttered. "You know what, it doesn't matter." You kissed Rose's fingers as the entrance to the beach came into view. "Hey, little Nugget," you whispered as her eyes fluttered open. "Welcome to the beach."
It was a joint effort, the way you held the baby while Bradley ran around, setting up a canopy and laying out blankets and towels. "You're stupid sexy, too," he said as you distracted him for about the tenth time. "You know that, right?" You didn't verbally respond, but you did look pleased with yourself as you set Rose down on the beach blanket, fully in the shade.
"Do you want to take her down to the water?" you asked, looking up at him.
He shot you an incredulous look as he took his shirt off. "Are you out of your mind? The waves are massive! Something could happen to her!"
Now you were doubled over in laughter on the blanket next to her. "It's not like I suggested that you take her surfing, Roo! Just carry her down to the water's edge!"
He was still hesitant. "Okay. But just for a quick look." Bradley scooped up his daughter, who always looked delighted to have him around, and he carried her slowly down the beach until the cool water met his toes. "This is as far as we go," he whispered, kissing her cheek as she closed her eyes. "Until you've had swimming lessons." He felt your hand on his back, and he turned to you and asked, "When can Rosie take swim lessons?"
"Bradley, she's less than a month old."
"That's probably when future olympians start," he mused as you rubbed sunblock all over his back and shoulders. You were standing in front of him now, laughing and swiping the lotion on his nose when an older woman stopped walking along the beach to approach you.
---------------------------
"Am I doing this right?"
Cam was sitting on your living room couch, holding Rose with a look of sheer panic on his face.
"No," Maria told him. "You're not. And you look constipated."
You started laughing and didn't even try to hide it. "Just hold her against your chest, and she'll probably fall asleep. She's definitely a snuggler."
He did as he was told, but there was still a firm crease along his forehead. "Babies are terrifying," he muttered, letting you adjust his hands for him.
Bradley was still at work, having agreed to teach another dog fighting drill with Maverick, and you were thankful your friends were keeping you company. It wouldn't be too much longer before you were back at work yourself, where you would be able to see your friends more frequently.
You watched Maria stand and kind of limp into your kitchen. "Does anyone else want a drink?"
"Absolutely not," Cam replied. "I need to keep two hands on the baby at all times."
He got an eye roll in response from you as you told Maria, "Sure, and I also need you to tell me why you're limping. Are you okay?"
A devilish smirk found her lips. "Maybe you should ask Bob about that one."
"Ew," Cam replied. "Unless I'm the one getting plowed by an aviator, I don't need to know any details." When you opened your mouth to say something, he quickly added, "You're just as bad as Maria, so don't even start with me. Just let me be afraid of holding your child in peace."
Then he settled back against the couch with Rose, and you joined Maria in the kitchen. "You're like seriously limping," you whispered, and she snickered.
"It's not what you think. I just can't resist giving Cam a hard time. Bob and I were in the shower together, and I pulled a muscle."
"Maria," you hissed. "You were in the shower with Bob, and you expect me to believe it wasn't sexual?"
"I wasn't," she insisted, getting two glasses of water ready and handing you one. "I just... ever since he got back from his deployment... I really like being around him as much as possible."
You knew how Bob looked at her. Like she was a mermaid. Or a fairy. Something magical and unbelievable. Maria wasn't known to be gushy or sappy, but she talked about him like he hung the moon, and that was all you needed to know.
"I'm happy for you."
She smiled just as you heard Cam gasp and start freaking out. "I think the baby pooped! Cancel that- I know the baby pooped! I need backup!"
By the time Bradley got home from work, you had dinner in the oven, and you were nursing Rose on the couch. Your husband looked exhausted but freshly showered with damp hair, and he made a beeline directly for you. He kissed your forehead and then her tiny fist.
"You alright, Roo?"
"I had a long day," he whispered. You were a little worried that something happened that made him seem so tired, but he smiled as he said, "But your appointment with Dr. Morris later this week is going to make it all worth it. I can't wait to hear her tell me I'm allowed to fuck my wife."
"You're so horny!" you complained half heartedly as he kissed your cheek before heading into the kitchen to take dinner out of the oven as the timer went off.
"Six weeks is a long time when you've got your tits out all day and all night."
Truthfully, there were times when you were positively aching to be with him like that, but there were moments when you couldn't understand how he still wanted you. Your stretch marks were wild, and you looked so flabby and weird. You had no idea how you'd manage to lose the weight you gained when your whole world revolved around pumping and feeding Rose, and on top of that, you'd be back at work soon and busier than ever.
You heard Bradley's groan of delight from the kitchen as he took a bite of dinner. "This is delicious, but still not as delectable as you, Baby Girl."
Even when your brain told you not to believe him, your heart did.
----------------------------
Bradley insisted on accompanying you to your six week checkup with Dr. Morris. He sat in one of the chairs in the exam room with Rose all wrapped up like a burrito in his arms, careful not to get her perfect face too close to his hard insignia pins. He watched as you got a pelvic exam, and then the doctor pushed on your belly while you made a face of discomfort. He held Rose a little tighter when you tried to smile at him.
"Everything feels and looks good. You can head back to work next week," Dr. Morris said as she removed her latex gloves. "Do you have any questions for me?"
Bradley listened to you rattle off several questions which rolled into a fresh conversation with your doctor. He really didn't want to be the one to ask about intercourse, but now you were sort of smirking at him. Okay, you were treating this like a game, toying with him. He was absolutely down for that, and it wasn't like he hadn't completely embarrassed himself in front of your physician before.
"If neither of you have any other questions, you're free to go-"
"Actually, Dr. Morris, I do have one last question." He cleared his throat and stood with Rose while you started to get dressed, trying to hide your smile from him. "I'd really like to have sex with my wife as soon as possible. Is that six weeks postpartum rule hard-and-fast, or would tonight be suitable for that kind of thing?"
You were hiding your smile behind your hand, but he could tell you were laughing as Dr. Morris humored him. "Well, the guidelines say six weeks, so I would absolutely stick to that. We like to make sure proper healing has occurred. If you don't start taking oral contraceptives right away, I would definitely advise you to use condoms." She glanced at your chart and added, "Two more days probably won't kill anyone, and at that point, you'll be at six weeks."
"Speak for yourself," he grunted, slipping Rose back into her car seat carrier. "Thanks, doc."
"Two more days," you told him as the three of you walked out to the red Bronco. "You're doing great, Daddy."
Bradley groaned as he buckled both of you in, and he pulled out of the parking lot without another word.
You shouldn't have been surprised, but you definitely were when, two nights later, his phone alarm started blaring at one in the morning. You were just settling back in bed after feeding Rose when you looked at him with wide eyes. "Wait, did we forget to do something?" you asked. "What's the alarm for?"
His eyes were closed when he felt your lips ghost along his cheek on their way to kiss him. "Why not right now?"

Watch "Spooky season in July San Diego Comic-Con #ComicCon #cosplay" on YouTube
There's a lot of people in the line trying to see why our son and daughter are putting it there and they read it and say oh I see it cost money and they shut it down they start screwing around with them so we're going after a whole bunch of these idiots cuz they don't want us to have money and it's a boon really we're taking their stuff and taking their money and there's a lot of them they're hiring people and a lot of them are clones summer trumpsters summer bjA most of them are clones, it's about 85 to 90%, and the others are being monitored by clothes so we're going to attack them
-right now there is a group of people attacking the clones very fiercely all over the world and down below and they're going after bases very hard and they're going after the ships they see them starting up they've been going after them all day huge huge groups are going down all the tunnels except the exhaust and it's way too hot and it's massive it is massive okay you trying to send drones down the tunnel all the time and they ignite every time is a huge huge Force going up there now from the Midwest and upper Midwest it's giant it's just really big trillions of people. Is a massive Force and it is going at them very hard and it will soon be there with a lot of hardware and it's going great for the ship in Canada another group is going from California and right by where the max are and they're huge and they're going to ignoring the max and the master told him not to and they ignored him and let them die and to tell him that's a fire or they will and to keep moving and it's a huge one okay it's like 10 miles long and 5 miles wide and there's a few of them going up there that size and they're moving fast heard it rev up a few times and they're going. And it was 1.8% if these don't make it it'll be 1.6% that's a lot of people and there's a gigantic group going from the upper Midwest and Midwest they are huge if they don't make it it'll be 1.5%, and from the East Coast it's another huge group and it'll be 1.4% and there's several more groups for me up all over the world of warlock overseas will become 0.6% if they fail and they're getting smaller and smaller and they called from South America and 0.5% came up so good.
-other news there's a lot of odd bugs here and he thought he had a bed bug but it's not what it is like a weird spider. I haven't seen them before they're in here he's got a spray or things are babies of the Little Wolf that's kind of what they are but it's terrible it's always got something bothering him and I'm mad about it so we're going after people cuz it's so gross here.
-there's other things happening one of them is people can't stand how he is and say he's not getting hit and they're full of s*** it doesn't have for anybody protecting people I'm going after them now
-there are other things happening in space there's a war they're going after the remaining blackships, and hitting and they're getting smaller the hit about 50% of what was there which was really 10 million chips and they are getting very small but those ships are bigger now there's 5 million left and they range from two miles to you know 8,000 then there's the big ones there's only five of them but really the average size is about 3 MI and if they're cut in half again it'll be average size of 5 MI that's a big fleet at that size because of the size ships and it's harder and harder right now theur sending huge fleets. The stone chips are cut down in 20 million but most of them are two to five miles then there's a section of 1 million that are 10 MI and 500,000 that are 20 I mean that's a huge number a big ships they have a lot of big ships too but they don't equal the firepower and it's a heck of a war and they need star Blazer chips and cookie has blasters that work and they're powerful it's about half the power of ghwb but twice the power of the old last rev of tech. And people want the stuff up and he's not doing it he's afraid to lose it all so that's going on and there's also
-a huge War just being waged in Arizona and they're mentioning the rose cross and they mentioned the keys and spurred on a quest for the keys and back over in London they're still thinking they might be there and they're seeking Tom Cruise and who says he doesn't have them it is an ongoing thing.
-this massive massive numbers of people now getting up and going to the ships so we're going to publish
Thor Freya
Each ship can fit and then the tomato ships are for like 2% of the population if if you had to

It’s a Fair Day
I do service with a Garden adjacent to a community college that offers classes in Ornamental Horticulture. OH for short. Once upon a time, I obtained a certificate but never used it except to observe the failures of water, fertilization, and neglect that go along with raising a family. Well, even the grandkids are grown (groan!) and Yours Truly is the only one doing the maintenance. There are four, no, five raised bed planters and two have things growing in them. I noticed a volunteer in one yesterday. Guess that means I should water it as thanks. I’m starting to do zucchini drive-bys.
Recently, I’ve gone native, joined California Native Plant Society, and want to add plants that are endemic. I learned at the CNPS meeting last night that California is a significantly important in plant diversity and San Diego is the most diverse. I kind of knew that. But I also know that development is destroying habitat. Vernal pools, for instance. Brodaeas (I can’t spell it) are little water-dwellers that lay dormant until it rains and puddles up. These environment sport brine shrimp (because the subsoil is impermeable, don’tyaknow) and other species. FROGS! Bugs the frogs eat. You get the picture.
Once you have learned things, how do you talk to normal people to get them to preserve the lived environment in a sustainable way? Maybe remove a lawn here, add a native buckwheat there? I worked at my brother’s house yesterday. The Bermuda grass is winning. If I mow, the seeds will fall and more will grow. Better to solarize (that is, lay a large sheet of plastic over the ground and smother the weeds, but the bugs and worms will be warm and cozy because they can ‘swim’ below the danger zone).
