This post is both beautiful and horrid so let me add on some things:
Sinners not being allowed in other parts of hell is most likely because of the same reason why heaven gets to come down once a year and slaughter them
Their king doesn't give a shit about his subjects.
Lucifer is top honcho in hell, because he is the strongest. He can literally, magic shit into existence, something we don't see any of the other sins do. Beelzebub is explicitly shown to need 'honey', Asmodeus is directly called the 'weakest of the sins' and Mammon clearly thinks there is a point in extorting others, so clearly he is no wealth of infinite energy. We don't know about Sloth, Wrath and envy (Belphagor, Satan, and...?) but PRESUMABLY they're in a similar boat.
The only thing that is keeping Lucifer from ruling hell is that he has neither drive nor a need to. He can just show up and snap his finger and voila, things are as he desires.
(just that he has no desires except for being close to his daughter, while still respecting her autonomy. Sadly cannot be snapped into existence)
Lucifer has no interest in fighting for his denizens. He has no interest in saving them from the exorcist and he probably just gave a disinterested nod when someone asked him to ban the sinners from the other rings.
Because the Sinners suck ass ✨
Tumblr media
They do!!!
Hell, the reason why Lucifer is even IN the pride ring is because LILITH probably wanted to be there. She gave a shit! We don't know if it was out of solidarity or compassion or because she saw potential, but she CARED.
Lucifer is shown to be a recluse, while Lilith incited revolt.
The Happy Hotel is Charlie trying to prove herself to her people. To show, Hey! I am here for you! I WANT to be a good Princess for you! I want to pick up the slack that my parents left, Lucifer with his incompetence/apathy as a ruler and Lilith with her disapperance.
Presumably she CAN go to other rings, but those don't need her. They have their Sins that manage them. Mammon is generally well liked in his ring! Bee is considered a party queen! Asmodeus CLEARLY cares about his Ring.
Also: While Hazbin Hotel is not super novel with how it represents Hell (Rings, 7 deadly sins, lots of borrowed names and creatures and themes), it clearly refuses to follow any other established canon to the T and makes a point of diverging.
(the seven deadly sins not being actual 'sins of depravity', there being 7 and not 9 rings, not limbo or climbing up and down, etc etc)
That being said; at the end of the day this is a story and while it's nice to have cohesive worldbuilding, this isn't a Dark Souls game. This is a stage to make the furries have cool dialogue and fun scenes. I know a lot of people think this is automatically 'lazy writing', but you can also absolutely OVER ENGINEER THE PLOT. And these shows already do that. I am thankful they stopped before completely over complicating the lore.
(recently started watching this show with my mom and she has a really hard time following the plot because it's SO MUCH INFORMATION that you have to absorb. I have to constantly explain story beats because the show, to a degree, assumes that you have at least a passing interest in Bible fanfiction. Mind you, this doesn't make the show bad, she still enjoy the jokes, but what a lot of people critique the show for are actually very much NEEDED SHORTCUTS to make the show ACESSIBLE TO NEW VIEWERS. Not everyone wants to be an obsessed Superfan. I know. The horror. I don't understand it either.)
Having all the sinners in one ring helps condense the story. Having the happy hotel help streamlining character interactions. Having Charlie be overtly optimistic makes this show enjoyable instead of a Fuckfest of sadness and angst.
About people saying that sinners only existing on the top ring Pride in Hellavu Boss/Hazbin Hotel is lazy writing and makes no sense
I have been seeing people say that it makes no sense that sinners only exist at the top ring because in Dante’s Inferno each sinner would go to the sin circle that ruled their life. It’s worth noting that this is not Dante’s Inferno, and pointing out what happed in Dante’s Inferno and how it was supposed to work does not change the fact that taking inspiration from a story does not mean they are obligated to fallow it in a way that makes sense to you. Like the Bible, Lucifer did not in fact marry the folklore first human woman that came before Eve and became the first Demon. Nor did he have a Daughter with her.
And yes the fact that there are six other circles but their has to be an extermination every year because only Hell born can leave the top makes no sense. Because it’s not supposed to. Its more telling that their is shady stuff going on.
The vary first thing I noticed about the theme park was that if it were not for the imps running around you would think it was earth. The bluish green sky even looked like the regular earth sky you could even tell it was daytime. Hazbin Hotel everything was dark and vary packed. The second thing I noticed about the theme park, their was elbow room it wasn’t packed.
But why wouldn’t they go to the circle of the sin they were most guilty for in life because that’s how the punishment goes? Well does Lucifer care about punishing? Doesn’t anyone think it’s strange that the sinners only real torment is each other? Other then having to share space with ass holes they are pretty much free to do whatever. They even own businesses. Its like Lucifer does not actually give a shit what they did. Here’s a better question why should he care?
Thinking about it, in between Lucifer rebelling against God, being cast out and damed, I am missing the part where he agreed to be the dumping ground of the evil monsters, selfish Jackasses, or just troubled people who were just not really pure enough for heaven to want.
So why would he make the Hell born, his actual citizens, share space with creatures he wanted nothing to do with?

What do you think of the idea of the Shadow Dragons being created by the Z fighters' constant overuse of wishes and the idea of it ending with the bit that they shouldn't be relying on the Dragon Balls so much to fix something and that they should fix it themselves, you know kinda what GT was going for?
Eh... I don't know.
The reason being is because the Z Fighters don't always rely on the Dragon Balls to fix things for them. They usually fight themselves then use the Dragon Balls to help others. So most of their wishes are selfless. The Shadow Dragon would need to be created from selfish or bad wishes. Like Oolong's wish for panties, Sorbet's wish to resurrect Freeza, Pilaf's wish that turned them into kids, and Bulma's wishes to look younger and other things. So most of the Shadow Dragon would be a result from Bulma which could be an interesting idea.
But regarding what weve been shown in the series, the Dragon Balls just shouldnt be used for evil and grreedy purposes.
Kami reason for creating the Dragon Balls to lend courage & hope to those who struggle, but everyone used them for their own greed. Except for Goku and his friends. And ppl like them found courage and hope from their adventure to find the Dragon Balls. It made them the heroes we know them to be today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Namekian Dragon Balls were created to be used by great heroes who completed trails of wits or strength. Or explaining to the elder why you desire to use such a wish (like how Krillin explained his desire to save the Namekians and resurrect his friend to the Great Elder & Krillin was given the Dragon Ball). The Dragon Balls are a reward for the worthy.
Tumblr media
Elder Kai didn't approve of using the Dragon Balls. He felt it disturbed the natural order of things. But, he soon saw the value of doing so to help make the universe a better place. (Which means if Goku and his friends didnt use the Dragon Balls to help others as they did, then the Mortal Level of Universe 7 would've been terrible. Not to mention non existent. Universe 7 would've just been erased instead of there being a Tournament of Power that gives all universes a chance.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though the Dragon Balls helped save the universe, Elder Kai still viewed it as misuse when he says "misusing the Dragon Balls again..."
In DBS, we have the Super Dragon Balls. After 17 won the tournament and was rewarded with getting his wish granted, we learn that a selfish wish would've resulted in all universes being erased. But, 17 made a selfless wish just as Goku and the others have done time and again. Zeno was pleased with this outcome that he predicted. It assured him that Goku & his friends could chang something. That mortals could change for the better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lastly, there's the fact that Toriyama wrote that things will be alright because they have the Dragon Balls with them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Dragon Balls are good to have so long as there are good people like Goku and his friends. Their purpose is to be used for good.
So, if the Shadow Dragon were to somehow come forth, it would be from selfish wishes like the ones I mentioned at the begining. It could work. But I'd have as a plot point that the Shadow Dragons get stronger every second so they split into teams to defeat them as quickly as possible. This allows for the heroes of Earth split into teams to fight the Shadow Dragon instead of it mainly being solely Goku who fights them.
But, ya know what I think would be cooler than just adapting the Shadow Dragons into Super? Have it be Janemba be released from the Dragon Balls or something like that.
A story that I would like to see that I might have talked about once is this...
Demon King Piccolo found out about the Demon Realm and spit out a Mazoku (Demon-Clan) egg then used magic to send it there. The egg never hatched for some reason and just kept absorbing the evil energies of the Demon Realm as well as the magic of that realm. Centuries later, it finally hatched and the demon Namekian mutant known as Janemba awakens. This would make Janemba the evil "older brother" of Piccolo. Also kinda his evil "son" from a past life.
Anyhow, thats it. Shadow Dragon could work, but Goku and his friends dont always rely on the Dragon Balls to fix things. They use the Dragon Balls for good and to help others. Except for Bulma whos been making quite a few wishes. So if Shadow Dragons did appear, it woul mostly be due to Bulma's misuse of Dragon Balls. Also GT didnt even completely get rid of the Dragon Balls. They came back in A Hero's Legacy. Although my memory is fuzzy regarding GT.
(But imagine a double cheeked up Shadow Dragon that was created due to Bulma's wishes in Super Hero 🤣)

RWBY Musings #63: The Sleeping Prince. What if…Oscar falls into a deep sleep for the Merging of the Two Souls?
Tumblr media
‘Sup FNDM fam! Happy New Year from the squiggle meister! For my first theory post of 2019, since Oscar is a perfect little prince now (hypothetically speaking), consider this for a sec.
What if...for the Merge, Oscar suddenly falls unconscious, putting him out of commotion for when the heroes begin to commence their plan to commandeer an Atlesian airship with the group unsure of what to do to wake him back up.
As Jaune said last episode, they're not leaving for Atlas without Oscar. But what would they do if the Merge suddenly happens and he’s temporarily unable to aid them with their plan for Atlas?
In the fairy tales, it's usually a kiss of true love that awakes the sleeping princesses from their eternal slumber. If Oscar is expected to fall to sleep during the Merge (because I honestly can't picture him being conscious while unceremoniously merging), imagine if… it's love that ultimately wakes him up. Not necessarily from a kiss per say but I have this little hunch where Oscar will start to merge with Ozpin but it’s the love he feels both for and from the teammates he’s grown to care about that keeps him from resisting the part of the process that’s meant to make him disappear entirely; if that makes sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember the God of Light’s warning to Ozma before his first reincarnation? He told him that where he sought comfort, he will only find pain. In a sense, you can say the God of Light’s heed to Ozma happened twice within the cycle. For Ozma it occurred in his first reincarnation as Diggs after Salem, the former love of his life---the mother of his children---the woman he had refused the peace of the afterlife to return to, killed him with her very own hands as a final sign that she had lost herself to the darkness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And for Ozpin, it was recently when his own allies turned their backs on him after promising they wouldn’t upon learning the truth. The first deceit came from Lionheart, a friend and member of Oz’s very own inner circle of trusted lieutenants. The second came from the group of young heroes whose lives he had promised to protect and guide. Even Qrow, a former student and long-time friend of Oz who completely devoted to him, turned his back to him and it is his words that made the old wizard turn to grief and isolation for the third time in his many lives (counting Ambroise and Emmanuel---the second and third reincarnations).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who knows? Perhaps this will be a sign that Oscar is potentially doomed to meet the same fate being challenged by that same love and comfort in others that has left his predecessors crushed by grief? I’m not saying that the heroes will hurt Oscar (at least, not now after what transpired when they thought he went missing). But I can somehow imagine Oscar meeting a dishevelled and grief-stricken Ozpin again within his mental mind palace or Dreamscape and having the older soul mock his young successor for getting himself attached to the love and comfort he feels from the heroes. Imagine…that love and trust is what Oscar will hold onto as a lifeline to keep him from losing himself completely to the Merge?
While I’m aware that Oscar has come to accept his fate now, I can’t help but still feel like that’s all a front from Oscar. It could be just my interpretation, though. It’s just the way how he spoke in V6 C8 gave me the impression that Oscar had technically given up on wanting to resist the Merge while subtly foreshadowing that it could happen this same volume.
“…These past few days, I’ve been scared of the same things you were. I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be…me. But I did some thinking and I do know that I want to do everything I can to help with whatever time I have left…”
It wouldn’t surprise me if in a later episode; Oscar does begin the Merge with Ozpin and will reunite with him in his mind for it. Don’t want to anticipate too much but it is a strong possibility of it happening especially since they do have the model of Professor Ozpin. I doubt they just made that for the opening. I feel like Oscar is going to meet Ozpin face to face in his mind and when he does, I think the two souls will have a confrontation that could either be just them standing around and talking (like Raven and Yang in the V5 finale) or end in them literally squaring off against each other in an all-out showdown. We’ve already seen two Maidens duke it out.
Will we get to see the two souls fight next?
I would think we should since it’s something that’s been foreshadowed since the first volume. I love the idea of Oscar literally fighting the Merge. Fighting Ozpin and fighting against losing himself. The thing that has always been hinted about the Man with Two Souls is them fighting for control. So maybe this will be part of the Merge? Oscar fighting against Ozpin for the chance to remain as himself.
We know Oscar has accepted disappearing one day but...what if… it's the love he feels from the team that convinces him he needs to fight to be himself. What if...Ruby shares another Rosebuds bonding moment with Oscar where she basically tells him to fight to be him. And since these words come from the girl we know Oscar greatly admires, it’ll hold a lot of weight and meaning in Oscar’s eyes.
Tumblr media
I didn’t particularly like how Oscar told everyone that he was going to disappear soon and everyone was…I guess, so clouded by their relief of him being safe to feel the full weight of his words in that moment.
I just found the fact that there is Oscar basically talking to group like he’s going to technically sort of die soon (I mean it pretty much had that final farewell sort of tone to it, for sure) and everyone is all happy smiles. Like…what? Why are you smiling? Yes, this is a happy moment but what’s being said and foreshadowed isn’t so…again why didn’t we get the characters briefly looking unhappy when Oscar brought disappearing only to perk up when he showed them that even though it’s bad, he’s still determined to do his best like the best boy he is? I dunno. It was a little weird moment for me and one of my gripes with this episode.
Tumblr media
I think eventually when things simmer down and once the Merge actually legit starts happening before the team’s very eyes where Oscar gets down because of the Merge, that’s when the others will start to see the light of the child’s words and begin to truly panic about losing him.
Another thing that needs to be addressed are the group’s feelings now about Ozpin. Following the events of C5-C9 and now that Oscar has become an official valued member of the group (as himself), how does the group feel about Oz? This is why I found the happy-go-lucky smiles when Oscar mentioned disappearing for good to be off putting. The group do realize that if Oscar disappears for good, technically that could spell the team being back with Ozpin…kind of…sort of…maybe-ish. I dunno. I just want to know how the group feel about Oz now? Did Oscar’s disappearance also help them to forgive Ozpin too?
I don’t think that is the case which is why I hope it gets addressed in the remaining 5 episodes.
Overall, I just want Oscar to fight to be himself you guys. This is just my opinion here but personally, Oscar has been way too accepting of his fate. I understand that merging with Ozpin is a destiny that Oscar can’t run from. I understand that fully but…I still feel like he should want to fight to be himself if he could help it y’know what I mean? I don’t know if that’s possible or if it’s impossible for Oscar to not fight against losing himself. But nevertheless, I just want Oscar to fight to be him and for someone to tell him to fight to be him. Because Oscar is pretty great.
Plus I think that’ll be the be all end all to both Oscar and Ozpin’s conjoined stories, right? Either Ozpin’s run will conclude this volume and Oscar will take his place on the cast moving forward as his successor, now complete with his memories, knowledge, skills and magical capabilities (hopefully) while still retaining his personality.
So picture …Oscar accepting his fate but also fighting it at the same time. He wants to be a Wizard of Light like the others before him. He still wants to do everything in his power to fight to protect humanity and stop Salem once and for all. But he will not lose himself. So ...rather than Ozpin absorbing Oscar and his mind becoming dominant, it's the opposite where Ozpin becomes a part of Oscar while the former farm boy still gets to be himself.
Basically what some fans have been saying since the beginning that Oz will disappear and become a part of Oscar with our Barn Prince still remaining as himself but gaining all the memories and skills of Ozpin and all the Wizards before him.
Or…Oscar and Ozpin will fuse and this new fusion will be a perfect blend of them both signifying a perfect alignment between the two soul where it doesn’t feel like one has eclipsed the other. It’s both but at the same time it’s not them. Someone entirely new who is as much Oscar as the original while still having some essence of Ozpin in there.
Whatever the outcome, I do think the Merge could be a plot point set for the final few episodes of V6. Emphasis on could. But if it does happen, only then will Oscar’s true fate be decided once and for all. Either that or it gets delayed and Oscar goes into the Atlas Arc now fighting against Ozpin to let the Merge fully take him over. Who knows?
That's just me. Don’t know if you guys would agree or disagree. But anyways, as always, these are just my thoughts and theories. I guess we’ll see what the Writers got cooking for us when C10 premieres this Saturday.

Okay. I'd like to offer up that this attitude is more about a pervasive fandom habit than the actual content of the franchise, and I like to gently offer that you're doing yourselves and other fans a disservice by buying into this. It's very easy to train ourselves to constantly scan for shark jumping. Its kind of countercultural tho, to give franchises room to adapt and evolve.
But let's look at this. Because in all honesty, MCU pre- and post-2015 is p much exactly the same ratio of creative development vs cash grab. And Marvel has always done p solidly on both counts.
The phase 1 & 2 linchpins were written and directed by Joss Whedon ffs, which means beyond on set abuse, actors also got interchangeable glib one-liners instead of characterization. Being a Steve fan, the essay i could write is how Whedon has no clue who Steve is in particular, but Im sure there's plenty more to write from other character perspectives. Phase 1 & 2 is where the MCU first grew into The Tony Show with Some Supporting Characters, where the overwhelming focus was on cishet white guys, where the universe stands still while long plans develop, where we got two films a year if we were lucky. It has always taken patience to wait for the MCU to piece together anything theyre aiming for, but theyve always built their brand on long games. I remember piecing together over a cpl years who the orig 4 Avengers would be. It took ages to see Modern Steve evolve. It took ages to see Nat get ANY characterization besides hot chick. This isnt a place built on instant gratification.
Meanwhile. Post 2015 is the entirety of the Black Panther franchise, built on foundational rships. It's two separate deep dives into Wanda's grief and loss and character. Its exponentially more women characters. Its a whole Dr Strange that I had no intention of finding this complex. Its a stunning story about the Partition of India and its impact on Kamala and her family. Its Loki *finally* having something interesting to do! And multiple people to be vulnerable with! Its the entirety of MCU Peter Parker. Its Nebula's amazing arc. Its the introduction of the Bradley family and John Walker, both of which extend and complicate what the Cap mantle means in world. Its Sam finding his Falcon, and his next big challenge. Its Bucky in therapy and finding peace and personhood. Its Nat's Russian family, and Alexei and Yelena coming back to keep building together. Its She-Hulk offering a new absurd humor. Its the seeds of Young Avengers. Its a brilliant re-work of the Kree-Skrull conflict and how that impacts individuals.
And this is just from one single, pretty limited fan perspective tbh; somebody else could have an equally long list of amazing relationships that are entirely different. I havent touched on Eternals or Hawkeye or Moon Knight or Carol or Shang Chi or Guardians or Antman or much Thor or... THIS was the point of expansion, so they could capture more of us and our money. Beyond, like, Endgame, which was wall to wall splash pages, theres rich rships and a MUCH broader group of differing characters unfolding in all of these shows and movies.
If you prefer the non-expanded space and original characters, thats cool, Im not here to trash that. Weve all got our personal preferences. But really, please own that and delve into that so we can all understand the canon texts in more depth from your perspective, ESPECIALLY considering the representation issues they are improving on since. If you're just not over not getting specific plot points you wanted, say that too, and we can all commiserate or ignore as desired. If you havent been around since the start, and absorbed pre-2015 in 3 days time, own that bc it shapes your perspective too. Real time 2008-2015 was a slog. If youre just exhausted all over, and dont know how you want to plug into the current MCU, I mean real fair, that makes a lotta sense. If you truly wanna look at how capitalism and militarism have profoundly shaped every single second of this franchise from the start, lets do it! That doesnt get talked about enough!
Because boiling the point down to "all true fans hate the franchise now" is honestly something that diminishes fandom as a whole. It helps us all train ourselves for less joy. I dont think thats your intention, its just a thing fandom does, but it really doesnt feel like we can afford this anymore. We're all getting too desperate for joy.
The thing is, it also absolutely bleeds through and impacts indie creators as well, diminishing our trust in ourselves to build something new that our audience won't be fickle and mean about. Consider what attitides feed you and the folks around you too. Consider how you treat the folks making stuff for you. The whole "so-and-so won't see what you say but your friends will" absolutely applies here. I guarantee you indie creatives are paying more attention to everybodys treatment of content than you realize. Maybe even including you, with your complicated rship to your own writing or art? What thoughts and fears do you have about how audiences will respond to your stuff? What kind of audience do we want for ourselves, and what does that say about what kind of audience we want to be?
If you dont hate the mcu are you really an mcu fan
