Installation of big Hemi-anechoic Chamber
In acoustic engineering, Hemi-anechoic Chamber represents creativity and accuracy. These chambers serve as controlled ambiences for sound testing, enabling for precise measurements without interference from external noise. In a recent project, O’Neill Engineered Systems excelled in the installation of a big anechoic chamber with excellence and proficiency.
Client’s need
Our client need a bespoke solution, a grinder enclosure with precise features and dimension for acoustic testing.
Our Solution
At O’Neill Engineered Systems, we approached the project with an allegiance to functionality and accuracy. We devised a detailed solution customized to our client’s requirements.
To accomplish optimal sound insulation, we used sturdy steel based sound insulation panels, mindfully installed to lessen external noise interference.
In the chamber, we applied sound absorption wedges of different densities, strategically positioned to improve acoustic performance across the frequency spectrum. We designed battery test cell to fuse seamlessly into the chamber, providing lenient access without impacting sound quality.
To complement the chamber, we punctiliously selected and installed any extra equipment necessary, making sure optimal performance and seamless functionality.
Outcome
The completion of the big anechoic chamber by O’Neill Engineered Systems marks a milestone in acoustic engineering.
Furthermore, the mindful selection and installation of extra equipment Underscore O’Neill Engineered Systems allegiance to delivering detailed solutions customized to client requirements.
Regular Installation
An engine test cell comes in various sizes and shapes. It is because of how the test cell is generally setup for the engine and the work type that is being carried out. Nonetheless, it is common to witness many pressure and temperature measurements restored to a central area where the date acquisition system gets the signals.
Modular installation
This modular design is beneficial as it enables the instrumentation to be swapped out and calibrated as required.
On the other hand, an engine test cell uses an assortment of sensors to ensure quality and to document adherence to specifications.

Understanding Lithium Battery Cell OCV Testing
Lithium-ion batteries are at the heart of modern technology, powering everything from smartphones to electric vehicles. Ensuring the health and performance of these batteries is of paramount importance. One valuable tool in assessing the state of lithium battery cells is the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) test. In this article, we'll explore the principles, parameters, and precautions associated with lithium battery cell OCV testing.
I. OCV Test Principles
The OCV test is a method used to estimate the state of battery cells. It involves measuring the open circuit voltage, AC internal resistance, and housing voltage of individual battery monomers. By assessing the voltage of the battery under open circuit conditions, valuable insights into the battery's remaining capacity and overall health can be obtained.
Remaining Capacity Estimation: The core principle of the OCV test is to gauge the relationship between a battery's open circuit voltage and its remaining capacity. As a battery discharges, its open circuit voltage decreases. By measuring the voltage at different states of charge, a curve can be established, allowing for the estimation of remaining capacity.
Termination Voltage: During discharge, the open circuit voltage of a battery steadily decreases with diminishing capacity. At a certain point, often referred to as the termination voltage, the voltage drop becomes significant. This critical voltage level signifies that the battery is nearly depleted.
Calibration and Modelling: Real-world application of the OCV test typically requires calibration and modeling based on historical data and battery characteristics. This process involves measuring the open circuit voltage of the battery at various states of charge and leveraging existing models and calibration data to infer remaining capacity or health status.
II. Parameters Involved in Lithium Battery Cell OCV Testing
To gain a comprehensive understanding of lithium battery cell OCV testing, it's essential to be familiar with the key parameters involved:
Open Circuit Voltage: This is the voltage measured when the battery has no external load after resting for a specific period. It serves as a valuable indicator for estimating the battery's remaining capacity and overall health.
Cut-off Voltage: The cut-off voltage is the voltage at which a battery is considered discharged. It is a crucial parameter for determining the end of a battery's discharge cycle.
Battery Characteristic Curve: By measuring the open circuit voltage of a battery at various states of charge, a characteristic curve can be established, showing the relationship between open circuit voltage and remaining capacity.
Calibration Data: Calibration involves refining test results based on historical battery data and characteristics. Calibration enhances the accuracy and reliability of OCV tests.
Estimation Algorithm: Estimation algorithms use the open circuit voltage of the battery, combined with existing models or calibration data, to infer the remaining capacity or health status of the battery through a defined mathematical algorithm.
III. Precautions in Lithium Battery Cell OCV Testing
While the OCV test is a valuable tool, its accuracy and reliability can be influenced by various factors, including changes in battery characteristics, temperature variations, and usage conditions. Therefore, it is essential to exercise caution and consider the following precautions:
Environmental Factors: Factors such as temperature and usage conditions can significantly impact the accuracy of OCV tests. Be mindful of these variables during testing.
Comprehensive Assessment: Recognize that the OCV test is just one method of estimating a battery's state. For a comprehensive evaluation, it's often necessary to combine multiple test methods and algorithms.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) test is a vital tool for assessing the state of lithium battery cells. By measuring the voltage at different states of charge and utilizing calibration data and estimation algorithms, valuable insights into a battery's remaining capacity and health can be obtained. However, it's crucial to exercise caution and consider various factors to ensure accurate and reliable results when conducting OCV tests.

His ever-present gaze penetrated the tank's glass, fixating on your orbs. It was a constant company, greeting you upon waking— whether immersed in the computer's screen a few paces ahead or absorbed in a stress ball he kept in hand to stimulate his thoughts. He consistently stared, as if that alone could propel him closer to a cure for the three monstrous things that so closely resembled him.
Donatello observed them through the fortified cells he constructed, initially intended as a security measure. He sighed deeply. The laboratory never felt as desolate as it did now, as if hopelessness swept through, resonating through his body. Gradually, despair eroded small fragments of his sanity, leaving nothing more than a faint echo of who he used to be.
He needed to find a cure soon. And so he pinched, tugged, injected, and inflicted upon your body a distinct form of torment every day. Each one an inch closer. However, despite your best judgment, you lacked the strength to keep on resenting him.
Exhausted from enduring numerous stings and side effects, your brain, perhaps as a survival mechanism, clung to words of reaffirmation. Praise. Approbation. Plaudits. They seemed to breathe sanity back into your inner self, preventing your poor state of mind from sinking deeper into the dark.
Such an exquisite test subject!
So remarkably compliant and subdued, aren't you?
I'll create an antidote, and they'll be back, and it'll be thanks to you.
You seem unwell today.
His voice was distant from under the water but he sounded somehow concerned. "Let's take the day off. You can't die just yet. Finding others like you is proving increasingly challenging."
You didn't want him to ignore you for the rest of the day. You wished he wouldn't. You could endure a slight pinch if it meant feeling something. Lately, the increasing sensory isolation was becoming more and more nerve-wracking. You must have wished too fervently, for just as he had not entirely turned away, the power abruptly ran out.
Donatello gasped. The blue light of your tank framed his face. A menace, yet fixable. The hitch: replacing the lab's battery required using the one in your tank. Both were designed with separate energies after an incident— an unfortunate electrocution during a short-circuit caused by an electric storm. Test subject 83q1q didn’t make it.
The wisest course of action was to empty the tank, replace the battery, and secure you elsewhere until he could find a new one. Your body throbbed with tickles of anxiety and anticipation upon noticing his intent.
As it drained, you descended to the bottom of it. He opened its side, causing all the tubes to tilt down. Donatello pulled them off. You inhaled as soon as he unplugged them from your throat. A coughing fit almost broke your rib cage right after a sharp, reckless gasp for air.
An overwhelming sensation hovered over you. Abruptly, everything was too much. Too much air, too rough floor, too much pressure on your skull, too loud— You can't breathe. You're choking. Your ears are beeping. Someone's screaming. You can't breathe, you can't breathe, you can’t— He's touching you. You tensed. Would he return you to the tank? Where's the needle? The last time he touched you, there was a needle, or something sharp, and it hurt. You brace yourself.
Donatello began making even circles over your bare back.
"Deep breaths," he said. His voice sounded different. Steadier, warmer. "Follow my own, here," he pressed your hand to his plastron. His inhalations were even, soothing.
"That's right, you're doing well—maintain your focus right here."
Your view briefly smeared your palm over his chest before properly adjusting. Your head pulsed as if your skull rejected your brain. Your mind was a jumble of many things barely held together. But you’re breathing, you’re alive, nothing hurts.
"Well done. Now, tell me five things about yourself," he asked.
The piercing cold scraped your bones like long-stirred claws. Nothing hurts, not quite much.
"My name is Donatello,” he began to set an example. “I am a scientist. I aim to fix the Kraang predicament. I like purple,” he paused, realizing there was nothing more about him worth mentioning. Then, against logical reasoning, he added: “I miss my brothers.”
Squatting, embracing your naked, soaked silhouette in a failed attempt to stop shivering, you listened; forcing yourself to clutch onto his voice, scarcely discerning his words but making the effort. On the verge of giving up on obtaining an answer, Donatello motioned back. Your nails dug into his plastron just then. He tensed.
“My name is—” your voice quivered, mind spinning, searching. You told him. “Chest… hurts. Head, hurts. I’m cold.” Your weakling tone disturbed you, hoarse, broken, reduced to a raspy mutter. “I’m… alone.”
You were unexpectedly a jarring mirror he reflected in. Donatello tilted his head, musing.
"Well done. It wasn't so hard, was it?" he articulated, displacing your hand. "Now come here, you ought to wait inside the cell until the battery is efficiently substituted and operational—I still need to find another to power the tank, though.” he added between his teeth, more to himself than to you. “Anyway, be glad, you'll rest," he finished, offering you a towel.
You took it, hesitantly. Soft, cold fingers brushing with rough, calloused ones. Donatello retracted his hand upon the brief contact. For half a second, he seemed misplaced. Something shifted thereafter. As if the lab’s loneliness somehow extinguished just by having another breath residing there. As days elapsed, he worked diligently to replace the burnt pieces and connect the battery. This task, which would have taken only a few hours with all the needed resources, was now hindered by the aftermath of the world nearly ending.
You braced yourself every time he approached your space, yet, pain never came with him. Instead, there was something, something more, something close to a kindle glimpse of a strange fascination. Donatello couldn't grasp why, but he started bringing you food instead of using the feeding probe.
“I help bring them back,” you said one fine day, after long contemplating the scattered photographs of four turtles attired in different colors, enjoying life before the apocalypse.
The sound of the welder stopped, as did the sparks that created different patterns of light around. He looked at you, understanding that it was not a reiteration of your role; it was an express wish, a genuine interest, as if you actually had a saying on the matter. It was, in a way, touching.
“Yes, you will,” he paused briefly, contemplating for the first time going slightly out of his way to give you something. But what? Perhaps something to wear? No, keeping you naked meant you wouldn't dare to set foot outside. It had to be something else, something more.
Donatello pondered for half a heartbeat before pulling the protective lenses up. “Hey, on a scale of one to ten, how cold would you rate your cell?”
***
The day came when he finished fixing the lights. The sudden brightness forced a hiss out of you, too sharp. He adjusted it, toning it down to a level you could bare. He found an extra battery as well, which meant you would return to the tank. You would hurt again, but it’s fine; he gave you purpose. He fed and warmed you, and listened to you. He gave you gentle head pats—
He’s good.
He doesn’t care if he hurts you.
It’s alright. He gave you purpose.
He doesn’t care if you cry.
He keeps you warm.
Donatello took some blood samples, followed by platelets, in between a couple more tests. You felt dizzy jumping off the chair, narrowly holding on to the edge of the table so as not to slam against the floor. The tank light loomed over you. Bit by bit, you gestured towards the two-meter cylindrical vessel, your heart rate suddenly plummeting. The dreadful prospect of sensory deprivation gnawed at your insides. Your breaths became erratic, resonating loudly in your ears, and the sensation of blood swirling in the pit of your stomach heightened. You won't feel, you won't eat, you will hurt. You can't breathe. You gasp for air. It’s alright, it’s alright-
"I was thinking..." Donatello's voice cut through the oppressive atmosphere, and you clung to the sound as if it were a lifeline. "Since you've behaved— what if I don't send you back in the tank? What if you stay here a bit longer?"
You turned, your eyes widening in astonishment.
"Would you like that?" he asked, not facing you, an awkwardness in his demeanor, as if it were the first time in his life he had asked for company.
"Yes," you gasped.
***
You couldn't pinpoint when it happened, but it didn't matter. You lay on his lap, resting as he worked, your body bare, absorbing the warmth of the room he had carefully heated for you. You cherished the rare moments he allowed you this close to him, savoring the seconds of feeling human once again through simple acts like cuddling. It made the aching in your body subside a smidgen.
The embrace elicited subtle signs of contentment, slowly fading into gasps, later morphing into moaning. His breath hitched upon hearing them. Donatello wasn't the best at navigating feelings. But these sensations were not exactly that. They couldn’t be. No, it was more like a palpitation triggering a primal response to your scent, your warmth, and the gentle quiver in your voice.
He scoffed. Deep thought on the matter didn’t change that his cock throbbed with each breath rolling off your mouth. He tried to shake the heat of his head, but why? Why should he resist? There was no purpose for not indulging. In fact, it could be beneficial.
He let his hand travel across your back. His touch made you shudder. He puffed, a nerdy sound he hadn’t heard himself make since the first time he watched a porn video.
“Come,” he said, tugging you to sit upright.
You raised your head from the crook on his neck to face him. “To the operating room?”
“No, just here,” he muttered.
Donatello adjusted you over the lower half of his plastron before reclining the chair back. Your nude pussy pressed upon its wetness. He groaned. Warm fingertips clung to the upper sides of his shell, seeking balance. He stroked your hair. You waited. Nothing hurt.
Donatello placed both hands over your love handles, moving you back and forth so your cunt rubbed over his needy slit. It throbbed, his hard cock soon to emerge from it. He whimpered, breath hitching when you followed his lead, hypnotized by the exquisite friction over your clit. A few more humps and it came out, pulling a deep growl from him. You looked in astonishment as it rose against your abdomen. tick, long and glistening in a creamy transparent liquid. Your inner thighs soon soaked in it. Nothing hurts, no…, in fact- it’s good. Fuck, so good. You sighed, unable to stop grinding over his newly released member, absolutely thriving in the delicious way it numbed everything into bliss.
Donatello’s head fell backward. His mouth curved slightly at the corners in a somewhat twisted smile of enjoyment. His earnest, soft moaning mingled with yours feverishly.
“That’s so hot— I want more, I want to be in you, I know you’re so warm inside,” his voice was desperate, drunken-like.
In one motion, Donatello pulled you up. Your back hit the cold desk. You sensed the keyboard under your head. It hurt. You snap back, eyes open wide. He grabbed your waist. Six strong fingers kept you in place as he lined with you. You puff, suddenly tensing.
"You want it too, right? In theory, it should feel good. You're too wet for it not to, don't worry, you've been good. It won't hurt."
The question lingered. You don't know. You don't want to hurt. Would he be angry if you forced him to stop? Could you do that? Would he put you back in the tank? You're dizzy.
He moved the tip of his cock along your soaked cunt, focusing on your soft nub, making circles over it. Your legs opened wider in response. His voice quivered as he whimpered, yours followed. You clenched around nothing.
"You're not saying no, are you?" he panted. "So I assume you must want to, right?"
Your hole stretches with his size sliding in. You groan, dragging your nails over the desk.
"Ah— it hurts! It hurts!" you blurt out.
"Bear it. The ache isn't supposed to- last too long. It'll feel good once you get used to it. You're good, you can bear it, you ca-nm,"
His body steamed, and his mind burnt with it, slowly melting the last drops of rational thinking. "You're so tight," he thrust once, twice, and thrice.
You reached for him, clinging to his quivering voice, his praise, his— fuck he's so deep in you. his pace knocks your breath out. It hurts. It fills you so well. It hurts. Feels hot. His moves are steady, building heat in your belly. Pain's giving out. You clench around him, sucking him deeper.
Donatello jerked forward, mouth gaping, eyes shutting. Both forearms held him up over the desk. He was now close enough for you to embrace him, so you clamped one hand to his shell and the other to his shoulder. Both legs hugged him near. With each new thrust your clit rubbed to his plastron sending waves of volts through your veins.
"Yes," you breathed, barely above your own moaning.
Donatello grinned, "I knew you liked it,”
“Yeah—ah, faster, harder,” you pleaded, head thrown back as he fucked you.
He granted. Making his pace even crueler. His content smile never faded.
“Your little cunt loves this so much! I can feel you squeezing me so tight, fuck, such a good testing subject, about to be my favorite cumdump.”
Your muscles tensed in anticipation, the heat in your core about to burst. The sound of wet skin slapping reached your ears as your toes curled.
His breath staggered as he spoke. "Ah- I can't stop. I'm coming, fuck, yes, yes-mnn,"
The hot loads filled you all the way to your womb. You embraced him, his ragged breath right in your ear. He enjoyed it, you did good, all feels right, more, more— You came with a loud moan, sweet pulsations carried the bliss from your belly through your temples, melting you.
He stayed still for a while, holding you in his arms, absorbing the warmth from your body. You both descended from the high together. Your scent mingled with his own, and for a fleeting moment, something tingled within him—the creeping onset of a feeling. He scoffed. It meant nothing. What are feelings if not chemicals in the mind, fueling instincts?
"Go clean yourself up," he instructed, letting off your legs. "We still have some tests for the day."

When ragatha and jax were created, were they smart or like a newborn baby? Could they talk or read and write? Or did they have to be taught??
Jax was pretty much a test tube baby and had to be taught as he grew like anyone else! Rabbits are often used for medicinal testing and research, and he was an attempt to make a test subject more similar to humans for accuracy. Somewhat successful, but Jax was always far too rebellious and smart for his own good. He wasn’t the only one made, but was the only subject to make it into a different residency.
Ragatha wasn’t quite created to be as she currently is, but in the end she still had to be taught skills and lessons all the same. Her start in life was a little more complicated, Originally she was just a brain powered by a battery in a Petri dish! (Did you know stem-cell created brains will- entirely unprompted- grow their own optic nerves as they crave input so much?)
They were part of different research groups and never met til Jax came to Caine’s residency!

✧ 𝖠/𝖭. nothing weird anon, we love punishment around here (and I love sae). I don't know what's going on that every time I review this I see the same mistakes I already corrected, I'll go through it again as soon as I can but right now I'm on the bus and my cell phone is running out of battery
Your boyfriend had many flaws, you knew it even before you entered into a relationship and among those the biggest one was his sassy mouth and your biggest flaw was your lack of patience about it.
Sae wasn't stupid, he was aware of what he said and how he said it and especially, he knew how to push your buttons. He seemed to be constantly testing you, pulling on the rope to see how much it would stretch before it broke. This time, it barely lasted a day.
You couldn't find a coherent part of your mind when that crack sounded, ticking through your mind like a bomb about to explode. Sae's eyes didn't even widen when you climbed on top of him on the bed and without a word began to undress him, on the contrary, there was a curve in his lips. Damn proud of his accomplishment.
Laughter rose in your chest, sounding through your labored breaths. On all fours on the bed, with the face in the pillow, hips shaking in the air and making the filthiest sounds, Sae's pride was nowhere to be found. It started to be shattered when you placed that ring at the base of his small cock and started taking your time with him, first relaxing his hole with your tongue, then stretching it around four of your fingers.
"You're just a slut who needs to get his ass full to shut up, hm?" you provoked, slipping a small, as thin as your finger pink vibrator into him. It shouldn't hurt at all, yet Sae let out a slurred whimper as his whole body shook as if he had been shocked.
The sound was like music to your ears.
Your hands came up to grip his lean hips, helping him keep them aloft as pleasure coursed through his body. The denial of another orgasm lasted for what felt like hours, leaving Sae sweaty and shaking and the relaxed hole barely tightening around what should have felt like dozens of toys under your gaze. It was only five, but you would get there occasionally.
"H-how many... How many more?" Sae strangled, the nearly ineligible words pressed against the pillow, his knuckles pale where they clenched the fabric.
You hummed in the back of your throat, taking your hands away from Sae as your attention returned to the toy box on the bed. You still had so many options...
"One more," you replied, this time choosing a round purple dildo.
"Just one more?" Sae sounded damn naive, all the previous brat attitude gone. But you knew him very well, you knew he only became a sweet little thing so you let him come as soon as possible.
"Yes," you agreed, a smile Sae couldn't see on your lips.
Sitting back on your heels you lubricated the dildo, although a huge amount of lube still came out of Sae. He hated it, which was exactly why you did your best to leave an increasing mess on him. The dildo pressed against the other toys, jostling them for space. Rae whimpered, you having to grip his hips with your free hand to keep him still.
"Stop moving," you ordered, pressing the dildo inward. Sae's well-stretched hole slowly widened under your attention, making room for the new intrusion.
As soon as the purple toy joined the other colorful dildos and vibrators Sae's feet sank into the mattress, pushing himself away from you until he fell onto the bed with heavy breathing and what should have been curses being hurled at you. Your own breathing was labored, your skin hot under the clothes while watching the pleasure tighten Sae's thighs as he rubbed against the sheets.
You wanted to break him, you wanted to break that smart mouth of his.
One of your hands pressed the six toys deeper into him, as if to help him reach that peak, appreciating the discordant vibrations at different speeds and strengths, the symphony of pleasure, torture and denial that suited your brat boyfriend perfectly. Sae moaned and hummed, rocking against the sheets and against your hand, sweat glistening on his skin.
Then he stopped, shuddering and making a sound like a wounded animal as the orgasm was once again cut short by the silicone squeezing tightly around the base of his cock.
You laughed, your free hand pulling on Sae's tight balls to help stave off that 'just a little more' taste even further, after all, it wouldn't do any good if he had a dry orgasm.
"You..." Sae murmured, his voice hoarse and broken. He turned his head, letting you see the tears on his cheeks and the anger in his eyes. "That hurts, you bastard," he spat, furious , that attitude returning as if a switch had been turned. "I..."
You cut him off with a slap on his ass that echoed throughout the room. Sae looked at you as if you had personally offended him, shocked, angry and deep down, excited. "Silence."
Feigning a disappointed sigh, which actually concealed sadistic amusement, your focus turned to the toy box. Sae followed your gaze.
"It was just one more. You... you promised."
The more Sae responded or cursed you the better, it meant you had even more reason to keep using his body until you get tired.
"I did no such thing," you said, choosing a silver bullet dildo. "And I recommend you keep your mouth shut if you want to come today."
Sae's brow furrowed, mouth opening and closing, seeming to consider whether or not it was worth teasing you further. In the end, he closed his mouth, and you really wanted to see how long the silence lasted this time. You forced the dildo into him and delighted in the convulsion of the red edge stretched to its limit, your hands rubbing his taut thighs.
You wanted even more, wanted to have him crying and begging beneath you, a lesson he wouldn't soon forget.

So I was looking at the 'Get It Done Chargebolt' Fight and realized how bullshit it is.
Your telling me the MLA. A militia ideological group with numerous connections, a major one being Denerat (A Tech Company!) cannot give one of it's higher ranking members anything more than a taser!
(god, this is so forced.)
His quirk (Ampivolt) seems to work by taking electricity from any source and releasing it back out from his body, much stronger than it once was. (No, I did not read the wiki when writing this)
His body acts like a power amplifier, taking the watts absorbed and imparting some of it's own energy into it before sending it back out.
In a fair scenario (not manipulated by Hori and his bullshit), our elektromaniac here should have won out.
So, in a bid to do the MLA one better, I present to you my own contraption:
(Not my best. I made it on my cell while on the move, also yes that's the Denerat logo)
I've effectively strapped a car battery to this guy's back.
It's outer chasis made of a lightweight non conductive mesh, as to not drag him down. The battery stays locked inside, needing to be opened to charge beforehand.
The gloves are attached to gold wires to ensure maximum output and lifespan (as gold doesn't tarnish) and are wrapped in a sturdy carbon mesh. The gloves themselves act as tasers for both long ranged and short ranged attacks, having holes in the front and back to allow for combos and continous fire.
You may point to the Tesla coils that sit on either the sides of the battery's chasis and wonder what their purpose is?
Simple, destruction. They also ensure that the battery doesn't overload.
When the battery has reached it's max capacity, it will send some of that energy to the coils and these in turn transfer it to the single spike located at the end of each coil.
The spike on the end acts as a reverse lightning rod. sending the excess electricity outwards in a devastating attack that destroys anything in it's path.
Both coils are positioned outwards as to not harm the user as well as to ensure the electricity does not arch between the coils.
The battery then uses advanced tech in it's chasis to reabsorb some of the linering electricity floating in the air and recycles it back into the battery.
I don't show it here but the backside (facing the users back) of the chassis is a very plush material, as to not leave the user in discomfort. It is also where the straps are hidden.
--------------------------------------------------
Test Drive (Or Denki's cooked, literally)
Ok we have the equipment, we have the MLA soldier. Now what?.
Well we speculate of course!
We know from OFA and the USJ Nomu that absorption and accumulation quirks usually have some upper limit.
We've also seen Denki fall victim to his own quirk numerous times (and quite severely at that), so it's not much of a stretch to say he could be burned by his own quirk.
Let's say Denki gets hit with Count Shock-ula while he's wearing the battery.
Above is the amount of electricity he normally expells when using his taser. Even now it could probably cause severe nerve damage or even death.
To save on length, we already know this man is a trained soldier, likely has been his whole life.
Given this, his fighting prowess and strategic mind should lend to him getting the upper hand in his fight with Denki, one of 1A's lowest ranking students in both academic and physical.
He hits Denki with a clean shot, maintaining a constant transfer of energy.
Even even as his muscles spasm and clench, Denki thinks he has the upper hand as does Jirou.
But now the battery is there providing a constant supply of electricity and Denki can only keep up so much, as Shock-ula's quirk does it's magic and increases the output.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Exposition Time:
Presuming that Denki's stockpile is located at his center of gravity, we can say that the focal point of the overload will start here.
The inside of human bodies typically sit at an average of 98.0 Fahrenheit or 36.64 Celsius, about the same as a 50w light bulb.
The maximum amount of heat a human can take before they begins to burn is around 140°F (60°C).
The human body temp can flare up to as high as 106°F (41°C) when in extremely stressful situations (though this is more in the regards of certain anxiety disorders)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As Denki's stockpile begins reaching it's limits, he begins to stress slightly. He can begin to feel the effects of his body temperature climbing and his growing panick isn't helping.
Jirou may try and interfere, but is either hit when the tesla coils expell the excess energy being absorbed or she is unable to approach all together as electrical currents surround the two electricity weilders.
Either way this only contributes to Denki's stress. He begins feeling the heat build in his abdomen, just above his bellybutton. Soon his insides feels like the inside of a hotspring.
Any attempts to sweat are foiled by his own electricity's heat evaporating it as soon as it forms on his skin. His body has no real way to cool down.
The MLA member may feel guilt in killing a child, but chooses to look at the bigger picture and what's at stake if he fails. He tries not to dwell too hard.
A long, aching moment passes by.
Denki is actually burning now, his intellect increases with each passing second and with it comes the ability to truly comprehend the situation he is in.
Trapped.
Denki's blood feels like it's boiling as he struggles to shut his eyes, fearing they may melt out of their sockets. His head is pounding and his stomach is rolling with intense nausea, a sign of severe heatstroke.
Yet the heat continues.
Blood vessels burst in his nose, lungs and eyes as the heart goes overtime, the kidneys have long stopped functioning and by this point Denki can't even think coherently.
A few moments later.
His organs and muscle fibers are now becoming covered with burn scars, he can smell himself burning and is finally then that Denki passes out. Perhaps for the last time.
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
So, pretty grim huh.
Had MHA been darker (and more thematically consistent) this could have been a possible scenario.
It really makes you wonder what the fuck the heroes were thinking sending teenagers to fight in an active war zone.
Really makes me question the competency of both UA and 1A's respective parents because lord almighty...
Sending them to raid the base of the biggest crime organization in the country is already bad, as mentioned in my Jaku Disaster Post, not knowing what your doing is even worse.
This isn't the first time we've seen this either, remember the Shie Hisakai?
Yeah they pulled that shit too, despite knowing the entire base was a death trap but I'll leave that dissection for later posting.
It's not just Midnight who could have died, we could have been looking at roughly 10-13 members of 1A being dead (Not counting Bakugo) and that's just off the top of my head.
You know if Hori wanted to add shock value, rather than pulling shit out of thin air he could've just tossed some excess weight by utilizing his threats properly.
Really his over reliance on surface level "shock"* value in the later seasons, doesn't exactly put me in high hopes that his horror Manga will do well.
(*Retconning Rei's family, AFO's constant returns, Stars and Stripes, The Mech suit, Vestiges, etc etc)
If Hori wants to write horror, he needs to reapproach how he writes. Simple as that.
===============================
Note: To the person that sent me the AFO ask. My apologies for not answering, I accidentally wiped it by mistake when trying to post, please feel free to resend the question to my inbox and I will glady give you an answer.
That was a wild one, so have a quick-sketch gag based off an MLA AU that's been floating around my notes for your troubles.

hauntingly relaxing basslines to grow/disappearify pumpkins to
(page 818-825)
Jade irradiates a tasty dinner for Bec, leaving it full of ‘nice depleted steak isotopes’ (p.819). I was wondering about the science behind this, and learned that while radioactive decay naturally gives off heat, it’s probably not enough to cook a steak. Radioisotope thermal generators convert the heat of radiation into electricity, and there’s a lot of theory about radioisotopic batteries that could operate similarly to solar cells, but their efficiency is below 2% in laboratory tests.
This got me thinking about Skaia as a perfect conserver of energy – on page 193, Rose expends six units of build grist to construct three Perfectly Generic Objects. On p.261, she deletes them and regains six build grist. Next page, she uses the recovered grist to build a platform extending from John’s house, and finally on p.485 turns that platform back into six grist to build more stairs. In the real world, there is always a loss of energy and raw materials when changing something’s form, and many games model this (for example, an in game item costing 100 gold but only sold back for 50) to discourage players changing their minds. But Sburb explicitly allows for this experimentation, and a similar principle could explain why Jade’s uranium powered devices are so efficient.
Speaking of Jade’s technology, we see her ECLECTIC BASS, which is a kind of triple keytar. It definitely does not need to exist but it is so cool that it does. Jade (via the narrator) is frustratingly vague again with ‘obviously it's too complicated to play it in person like this’, refusing to clarify what ‘in person’ means, but I’d guess it’s a remote controlled hand or several that can play bass remotely without the limitations of human fingers. Possibly controlled through her other invention: the computer.
Instead of a regular desktop, Jade’s LUNCHTOP works through beams of light emitting from small floating polyhedrons, positioning her literally within the digital space. Amidst floating clouds, extra pixels and jpeg debris, and spinning chromosomes of light is a cool dragon as a wallpaper, icons for Pesterchum, Echidna (probably a browser) and Fresh Jamz!, which has an icon of a musical note over a jar of fruit jam. Is Jade a composer too? Did she write her own hauntingly relaxing bassline that caused the plants to grow? Is this a hobby she and Dave have in common?
Jade’s hauntingly relaxing bassline (p.822) is a great companion piece to WV: Ascend, showing Jade’s island in its current state as opposed to in extended timelapse. The house, with its orbs atop spires, is clearly modeled on a now broken part of the frog statue, and was designed to fit in with the existing architecture and shape of the island (it forms a peak to the small second mountain). The house was built for aesthetics, not function, and is primarily vertical especially towards the top. No wonder Jade ‘almost never use[s] the stairs’.
Putting the timeline together, we know that Jade is about to message John at 16:34 his time (p.110), but they don’t actually talk until 17:25 (p.169), almost an hour later, at which point there’s an explosion outside Jade’s house. In page 822’s animation, an aeroplane flies low over Jade’s island and drops off a delivery (a blue package – something from John, perhaps?). This must be an uncommonly loud sound in a remote area. Depending on how this flash syncs with the timeline, this may or may not be the ‘explosion’. Either way, Jade will be on the computer during the explosion, and as her likely homemade computer involves complete immersion in the digital surroundings, I can believe that she would interpret a noise from her computer as something that’s happening outside her house.
We’ve explored Jade’s room, interests, musical talents, fetch modus, and now computer. In all of these she’s been set up differently to her friends. We have yet to explore the rest of her house and its surroundings (featuring, presumably, strange themed decor, a large humanoid doll and a piece of visual art Jade has created) and to meet Jade’s grandfather, witnessing her attempts to evade and eventually strife with him.
> Jade: Open Echidna and watch your favorite Squiddles episode.

S.A.M by "Bill" (1978). "S.A.M (Short for "Sentient, Autonomous Mechanism" or "Smart Ass Machine", depending on his (and my) mood on a given day, was one of my first real robot projects, started in 1978 when I was around 15. His "brain" was a single-board Z-80 computer (the big square object in the middle of his "back" in this picture), with many bits of TTL I/O, a couple of serial ports, a bunch of counter-timers, and several D/A & A/D channels. The base was taken from the book "How to Build a Computer Controlled Robot" by Todd Loofbourrow - I had built the robot in the book, and had used my KIM-1 to control it. Later, I decided that just a little platform was kind of boring, so I added the upper torso shown here. The torso (mounted on a "lazy-susan" turntable bearing) is rotated by a heavy-duty gear motor driving a chain and sprocket assembly from a bicycle. The base is powered by two of the (apparently no longer available, which is sad) all-metal rubber-tired "motorized wheel" assemblies that Herbach & Rademan used to sell, with a large rubber-tired caster in front. The head platform (mounted on a small "lazy-susan" bearing) was originally rotated by a surplus gearbox from a Mattel "Big Trak" with some rubber-tired wheels mounted on the output shafts. This arrangement was later replaced by a small gear-head motor driving a large gear mounted to the center of the turntable. The device in the head with the tubes sticking out the front is a directional light tracking device. Each tube has a CDS photocell at the bottom, and is painted flat black inside. A comparator circuit tells the computer which direction the brightest light is coming from. This device could also tilt up and down with a small gear-head motor, to track light sources vertically. Most of the circuitry was installed on small plug-boards from Radio Shack, mounted in a card rack below the CPU card. This rack could be tipped back 90 degrees to facilitate easier access for testing. In addition to motor driver circuits, there was a "Sweet Talker" speech synthesizer board so he could talk. Power came from a large "gel-cell" marine battery (for powering trolling motors on boats), which was slung near the ground in the center of the base. Two 6V lantern batteries (later replaced by a 12V motorcycle battery) provided separate power for the electronics. All motors were isolated from the electronics via relays and/or opto-isolators. After these pictures were taken, a set of metal panels was installed on the "facets" of the base, with lever switches behind them for collision sensing. A Polaroid sonar range-finder was also added later. If you check out the other photos of S.A.M., you will notice an "arm" sticking out the front. This was a prototype made from an old swing-arm desk lamp and some "fingers" from a robot hand design using brass tubing, bicycle chain, and 1/16" steel cable to allow natural bending of each finger. It was later replaced with a much heavier duty aluminum framework arm operated by two 12VDC linear actuators." – My Home Robot Projects, by Bill.

Modern!Azriel Headcanons
Modern! Azriel/ Navy Seal! Azriel x reader
Wordcount: 900ish
Warnings: annoying drill sergeant, couple curse words, not super gendered (like one mention of a dress)
A/N: az is a cutie in this one too :)))
Modern!Azriel who grew up in the same trashy neighborhood as you and cass and rhys.
Modern!Azriel who was determined to make it out despite what his shitty father and half-brothers had to say about it.
Modern!Azriel who was somehow top 10 in your graduating class despite missing like half of junior and senior year to work and help his mom pay the bills.
Modern!Azriel who got a 1500 on the SAT and a 96 on his ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test.
Modern!Azriel who knew that his best chance out of the hood was the military (also probably not the best way to work out all his anger)
Modern!Azriel who convinces cass to join him and they both enlist in the battle buddy program together. (they both deploy together so they always have a homie to rely on)
Modern!Azriel who is a fucking 6’4” unit and is recruited by the navy bc he’s massive and a genius and secretly speaks like 5 languages (bc his mom is an immigrant and they’re like that)
the drill sergeant just about dropped and foamed at the mouth at the sight of azriel and cassian (drill sergeant goes on a tangent about finally getting some “real sailors” and the rest of the unit literally hates them bc yeah he’s right they don’t compare)
Modern!Azriel who (alongside cassian) gets asked to apply to seal school and they graduate with some of the highest BUD/S scores the navy has ever seen (his mom is super proud and makes him mole de pollo bc its his favorite and she loves her son and his friends)
Modern!Azriel who makes it to captain in six years instead of the average nine bc he’s just that good
Modern!Azriel who always remembered you as his kind coworker from his trashy minimum wage dishwashing job in high school and definitely not as his friend’s cute younger sister.
Modern!Azriel who remembers every time you brought him dinner and badly lied about how you hated to waste food and didn’t know what to do with the leftovers so he wouldn’t feel bad about eating it (bc times were tough in HS and he really wasn’t eating enough at all)
Modern!Azriel who just kind of slowly blinks at you when him and his unit walk into the museum that you’ve been working at.
Modern!Azriel whose chest tightens with something strange when your whole face lights up after recognizing him.
Modern!Azriel who has only had casual flings (mostly bc he was always away for work) but feels his heart drop to his feet when you press your lips to his left cheek and give his arms a little squeeze.
Modern!Azriel whose whole body relaxes when you pull him into a hug. who’s knees almost give out when you rub your manicured hands up and down his biceps and whisper about how you missed him–how you were worried about him.
his whole team will harass him later about his reaction and beg for the details behind your history because even though they’re navy seals they’re really just chismosas on the inside.
Modern!Azriel who is seriously so confused as to how you (someone who was so kind and loving) could be involved in counter-terrorism.
Modern!Azriel who is shocked when you explain to him that the art world is full of criminals and that terrorists especially love to use expensive art as methods of payment for whatever horrible acts they want to commit.
Modern!Azriel whose chest puffs with pride when he hears you tell your boss that you have full faith in his unit and their abilities bc “azriel isn’t the kind of man who lets people down”
Modern!Azriel who is supposed to be paying attention to the baroque painting on the wall but can’t take his eyes off of you in your beautiful, floor-length, velvet gown.
Modern!Azriel who takes out two things in one night: a secret terrorist cell and you to dinner.
Modern!Azriel who realizes he hasn’t been able to have a serious relationship bc he’s been in love with you this whole time (read: since he was literally 9 years old and you told him he had the prettiest eyes in the world)
Modern!Azriel who wears the matching bracelet you got him every single day. especially when he’s deployed bc a photo of you might actually be too dangerous for the field
Modern!Azriel who never tells you exactly what he does just that he’s the captain of a navy seal unit bc its classified, but you still worry (especially bc you’re a historian and can almost immediately tell where he’s been in the world based on the souvenirs he brings you)
Modern!Azriel who almost bursts into tears when you tell him you love him first bc he’d been struggling to get the words out for weeks
Modern!Azriel who gets to experience softness from someone other than his mother for the first time in his life
Modern!Azriel who is in a healthy, positive relationship with someone who loves all of him including his flaws.
Modern!Azriel whose partner teaching him about emotional maturity and communication and slowly walks with him down his healing journey
Modern!Azriel who is pathetically in love with his partner and can’t wait to start their life together.

The Scorpion
▓▓▓▓ ▓▓ (E-15293362) is a female of Vietnamese origin. For 9 counts of 1st degree murder, drug possession and distribution, possession of unregistered firearms, driving under the influence, assault and battery, reckless endangerment, and contempt of court, E-15293362 was sentenced to death by lethal injection on ▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓. The court also offered life imprisonment in Urbanshade Testing Facilities, which E-15293362 accepted.
E-15293362 exhibits extremely violent and disturbed behavior. At least one armed guard is to monitor its cell at all times.
Z-532 - Codename: “The Scorpion” (formerly E-15293362) is a female of Vietnamese origin, wearing an EXR-P “Template” jumpsuit. Notable differences to an average human are the presence of a large tail, about 3 ft in length, a scorpion's stinger, about 6 ft in length, and fins where its ears would be. (Z-532's actual ears are small holes behind said fins.) Under its jumpsuit are gills on the side of its waist and fins similar to the ones on its head sprouting from its hips. It produces a potent neurotoxin from its stinger, though not able to kill any human, is enough to paralyze one for up to 5 hours. Z-532 itself seems to be immune to this effect.
Z-532 was originally an EXR-P unit, being sent to the Hadal Blacksite to retrieve loose assets under the pretense of being returned to the surface if enough are secured. Upon retrieval, Dr. ▓▓▓▓▓▓ declared that Z-532 was unfit to be returned to society, and it was placed back into the Blacksite for containment.
Z-532 displays a belief that it is still a member of the EXR-P program, being reported to join other groups on their expedition to retrieve Z-1, albeit for a short time. It shows a remarkable ability to stay alive, even through massive amounts of damage inflicted to it. It is currently unknown whether this is from its mutations or overconsumption of medkits scattered throughout the Blacksite.
Z-532 is described as “really ****ing stupid” and “mostly harmless to others, at least,” so it is currently regarded as a non-issue. However, at the first sign of rebellion, its PDG will be detonated, killing it instantly.
If these documents are shown to unauthorized personnel, you'll be put up for demotion, and any cover-up fees will be sent to your relatives.
▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓ [Test 1]:
Dr. Patton requested E-15293362 to his office for testing purposes. Subject was injected with the DNA of a vermillion rockfish (male). The following conversation was recorded.
E-15293362: “WHAT THE HELL? WHAT THE **** DID YOU DO TO ME? WHAT WAS THAT? I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!!”
Dr. Patton: “Calm down, ▓▓▓▓. You-”
E-15293362: “DON'T ****ING CALL ME THAT! THAT'S THE NAME MY MOTHER GAVE ME, NOT FOR SOME ****ING ***HOLE SCIENTIST TO USE!”
Dr. Patton: “Ms. ▓▓, then. Your symptoms should begin appearing in 2 to 3 days. Until then, you will be heavily sedated to prevent outlash.”
E-15293362: “DON'T YOU DARE INJECT ME WITH ANYTHING ELSE.”
Dr. Patton: “▓▓▓▓▓▓? Hold her down while I administer the sedatives.”
▓▓▓▓▓▓: “Yes, sir.”
[Note: Subject was returned to her cell after the sedatives took effect.]
[End recording.]
▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓ [Interview 1]:
E-15293362 was brought back into Dr. Patton's lab for a diagnostic test and interview. Subject had become feverish, and reported feeling nauseous. Guards report unwillingness to eat any food given, as well as vomiting and screaming during the night. A growth resembling a tail had begun to sprout from subject's gluteal region. The following conversation was recorded.
Dr. Patton: “Hello again, Ms. ▓▓. How are you feeling?”
E-15293362: “Like ****. What the hell do you want from me?”
[Note: Subject seems less aggressive than in Test 1.]
Dr. Patton: “I hear you haven't been eating well?”
E-15293362: “I haven't been hungry. What does it matter to you?”
Dr. Patton: “I wanted to ask you a few questions, and then do some medical examination.”
E-15293362: “I don't have a choice, do I?”
Dr. Patton: “No, you don't. Why did you kill those people?”
E-15293362: “He told me to.”
Dr. Patton: “And who is ‘he’?”
E-15293362: “My boyfriend.”
Dr. Patton: “I see. And you killed him, too. Why?”
E-15293362: “He pissed me off. He tried to leave me. He was the only person I had.”
Dr. Patton: “And what about your family?”
E-15293362: “You ask a lot of questions, don't you?”
Dr. Patton: (laughing) “It's my job.”
E-15293362: “It's not funny.”
Dr. Patton: “Why did you sell drugs and weapons? For money?”
E-15293362: “Yes.”
Dr. Patton: “Did you ever use your own stock? Any drugs at all?”
E-15293362: “No.”
Dr. Patton: “Why didn't you get a real job?”
E-15293362: “That's none of your business.”
[Note: Subject was unresponsive to any further questioning.]
[End recording.]
▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓ [Test 2]:
Dr. Patton requested E-15293362 for further testing. Subject was injected with the DNA of an indian red scorpion (male) and red mermaid-tail betta (female). Subject's tail-like growth has further developed, thickening significantly. Its outer ears had also begun regressing into its flesh. The following conversation was recorded.
E-15293362: “You.”
Dr. Patton: “Hello again, Ms. ▓▓.”
E-15293362: “Don't. Don't. Don't you ****ing dare.”
Dr. Patton: “What do you mean?”
E-15293362: “You. What the **** did you put into me? Am I not suffering enough? AM I NOT IN ENOUGH PAIN FOR YOU?!”
Dr. Patton: “Now, ▓▓▓▓-”
E-15293362: “DON'T ****ING CALL ME THAT! I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND! WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU? DO YOU ONLY THINK ABOUT YOURSELF? I THINK I'D RATHER HAVE GOTTEN KILLED! ARE YOU ****ING INSANE?!?”
[Note: Subject began pulling against her constraints, attempting to attack Dr. Patton.]
Dr. Patton: “Ms. ▓▓, calm down.”
E-15293362: “ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING?? I'M NOT GONNA DO **** FOR YOU! **** YOU! **** YOU! YOU SHOULD ****ING DIE!! YOU SHOULD ****ING KILL YOURSELF!”
Dr. Patton: “▓▓▓▓▓▓▓, cover its mouth, please.”
E-15293362: “IT? IT?!? AM I A ****ING THING FOR YOU? A TOY TO **** AROUND WITH??? **** Y–”
[Note: Subject had its mouth covered and was injected with sedatives before being returned to its cell.]
[End recording.]
▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓ [Interview 2]:
E-15293362 requested to see Dr. Patton again. Subject’s ‘tail’ has fully developed now, resembling an elongated rockfish's tail with desaturated coloring. What appear to be gills have grown from where its ears used to be, matching the color of the tail. A small scorpion stinger has begun to develop above Subject’s tail. Guards report a significant shift in behavior, claiming E-15293362 “acts drunk.” The following conversation was recorded.
E-15293362: “Hi, doctor!”
Dr. Patton: “...Hello, Ms. ▓▓. You requested to see me?”
E-15293362: “I feel loopy… What's wrong with my head..?”
[Note: Subject is slurring its words, drawing out syllables, and is speaking considerably slower than average.]
Dr. Patton: “I'm not sure I understand. Can you describe more of your symptoms?”
E-15293362: “My head feels silly… My head feels… forget-y… and I can't hear very good.”
Dr. Patton: “Interesting. Is that the only reason you wanted to see me?”
E-15293362: “It hurts.”
Dr. Patton: “Pardon?”
E-15293362: “It hurts. It hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT–”
[Note: Subject fell unconscious, presumably from pain.]
[End recording.]
Ending notes: Subject was administered Tylenol and returned to its cell. Dr. Patton theorizes that its change in behavior can be attributed to the neurotoxins being produced by Subject's scorpion DNA. Which organ is producing these neurotoxins is unknown, but it seems to be accumulating in its newly developing ‘stinger.’
▓▓/▓▓/▓▓▓▓ [Review]:
E-15293362's stinger has fully developed, and is roughly the same height as the subject (6’1 at the time of recording.) Subject’s production of neurotoxins will provide useful for human weaponry in the future, as observed side effects are naïveté and willingness to follow commands without question.
Addendum 1: E-15293362 has been enrolled in the EXR-P program with the promise of freedom if enough loose assets are secured. E-15293362 is fully expected to be killed in action.
Addendum 2: E-15293362 has successfully retrieved 2000 assets, unharmed. However, it is not fit to be returned to civilization. E-15293362 will be reclassified and returned to the Hadal Blacksite under pretense of its work not being complete.

Blocking and lessening industrial sound
Industrial amenities comprises of a wide array of applications, including construction and manufacturing sites, processing plans and so on. The general sound problem in all the industrial applications seems to be the requirement to bring down the usual volume of sound or reduce the level of decibel of specific machinery. The term machinery may comprise of crushers, punch presses, printing equipment, pumps, air tools, jack hammers and grinders and may need a grinder enclosure.
To reduce the sound level of such equipments, the perfect remedial measure is to put up an enclosure that is soundproof surrounding the machines that makes the noise. It will not only eradicate the noise but also prevent the sound from infiltrating into the nearby machinery and equipment like a battery test cell or the adjoining locations.
A sound barrier for an engine test cell, used as a blend of structures to add weight assists to improve the STC of the system. It is available as rolls and might be cut conveniently with a domestic knife.
On the other hand, a grinder enclosure or machine can be fitted with a lining of compounded foam. This material comprises of a film made of vinyl sound barrier sandwiched between two sheets of acoustical foam blending a sheet of thick and heavy material to prevent sound along with two sheets of acoustical foam that is absorptive.
Moreover, noise-lock doors and barrier blankets with UV ray protection can be assembled on-site all across the machinery to lessen the machine noises. The blankets made from quilted fiberglass can be made with a barrier septum or without it and is available fitted with grommets so that they can be hung. You can also have exterior coverings that are optional when you need UV ray protection for the material.

Lithium-Ion Cylindrical Cell Grading Machines: A Comprehensive Guide
The lithium-ion battery manufacturing process starts with cell grading. All cell types, be it prismatic, pouch, or cylindrical, are incomplete without cell grading. Camping is a much-beloved activity, even with those who live in a house. In case you’re unfamiliar, camping mostly consists of driving to a place in the wilderness and then sleeping there. Ideally, you also set fire to something, but the core value is that of being closer to nature. Experiencing its bounty. Remembering why you have indoor plumbing.
In an attempt to make camping more livable, humanity has produced many specialized vehicles. RVs. Tent trailers. Bolers. Little tiny tents that go behind your bicycle. A van, down by the river. None of them are as appealing as just a bare-ass car, with no modifications, and a back seat that folds down enough that you can sleep halfway in the trunk without completely demolishing your lumbar region.
If you read the newspapers lately, you might have heard about my recent legal troubles. That being so, I don’t think it’s in your right to judge me, because you still read a newspaper in 2023. Where do you even buy those things? Anyway, I had to lie low for a little bit, and the important thing to know about Canadian telecommunications is that your cell phone never works as soon as you are within five minutes of the city limits. Sure, you can pay them seventeen bucks a minute for “roaming,” but nobody is that big of a sucker, even the government. I reasoned that there was no way my parole officer was rich enough to keep my ankle bracelet on the entire time, and so I set out for the grounds-of-camping in order to test the theory.
The first night yielded an excellent sleep: calm, cool air, no light pollution, and the sounds of animals all around lulled me into a deep dream-like state in which the solution to all my problems emerged and then was immediately forgotten upon waking up. The second night was even better, because the incessant lost-signal beeping of my ankle bracelet finally ceased as its batteries expired. Now, without the scarlet letter of its plaintive tone following me around, I could visit my fellow camping enthusiasts and socialize.
Friends: I made it about fifteen minutes. None of these folks had cool old cars, and they seemed to look at my oil-stained visage with a look between terror and pity. The best I could do was one retired couple who were towing their 1997 Saturn SL1 behind their RV, who at least pretended to listen to me when I was telling them about the importance of welding up their diff pin. Ultimately, they had “somewhere to go” and escaped so quickly that the Saturn broke off of their trailer hitch and rolled into the nearby fishing pond, which I decided made the vehicle count as maritime salvage.
Camping was exactly as relaxing as I thought it would be, and I ended up with a new composite-bodied toy to tow behind my Volare. Which is great, because I’m going to need something to drive to the bail hearings after this thing throws a rod on the highway home.
