If Bruce and Batmom Divorced ~Bruce Wayne Imagine~
Summary: The final straw was Bruce officially cheating on you.
Author’s Note: I saw a TikTok about a comic of Catwoman having Bruce’s daughter and I thought of the angst between Batmom and Bruce.
This is not canon to the Batmom Universe
Reader’s Pronouns: She/Her
Warnings: Mentions of divorce, angst, cheating

You were a smart person after living with Bruce Wayne who is also Batman. You learned his tricks and gadgets while being his wife. So when you left without word the day after finding out Selina was pregnant with Bruce’s child, everyone grew into a panic.
“It’s like she just disappeared,” Tim said in disbelief.
“Now I know how she felt when I left the mansion,” Dick says.
“Where could she have gone?” Jason asked.
“Alfred, are you sure she didn’t say anything to you before she left?” Cassandra asked him with a sad and desperate look.
“If you think, she would disappear without telling me, you’re wrong. I do know where she is however, she asked me not to say anything. She only gave it to me for emergencies.”
“Then tell us, Alfred! We won’t tell Bruce,” Stephanie begged.
“I’m afraid I cannot do such thing. Not until she calls me and tells me that she is ready.”
Selina had showed up to your doorstep one afternoon and told you the news of her being pregnant with Bruce's child. You spend the first hour in shock before gathering your stuff that you had packed and left without saying goodbye.
It broke everyone when you left. Even Bruce.
Bruce would rather kill Joker and all the villains if it meant keeping you with him. He would murder every single person with bad in them if it meant he could have you with him. But what he did that finally broke you would never change your mind.
Then came the day when you finally showed up. But with a surprise.
"Mom?" Dick asked in shock.
"Hi honey," you smiled softly. Dick engulfed you into a quick hug before looking at you.
"Are you okay? How are you?" Dick asked.
"I'm okay. I'm doing well," you tell him. "Is Bruce home?"
"Yeah. He's home."
"I need to talk to him," you tell him.
"Yeah. Okay."
You followed Dick inside the manor and found Bruce sitting at the dining room table with Alfred and Damien.
"Ummi!" Damien said the moment he saw you.
He rushed over and hugged you tightly before realizing your condition.
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"It's okay sweetie."
"It's good to see you Ms. Y/n," Alfred said, giving you a hug as well.
"I need to talk to Bruce really quickly. Alone," you tell everyone.
Everyone rushed out of the room so you two could be alone.
"Y/n-"
"I don't want to hear you talk Bruce. I am here to have you sign these," you say as you took out the divorce papers from your purse; "And I am here to let the kids know that I am okay."
"Y/n, can we talk about this? Is the baby mine?" Bruce asked referring to your pregnant bump.
"It's yours. But I don't need you for them. I am going to raise this child alone and we do not need you. You are having a child with Selina so if you want to be a father, go be that child's father because you have no right to be in my life anymore," you tell him.
"I put up with so much with you. And I am done. I am exhausted and being away from you for the past four months made me feel so free and relaxed. I have a good home now and it's in a good city and good neighborhood. I just want you to sign these papers, and let me go."
"I don't want to let you go. I don't want to lose you," Bruce said, looking up at you with tears in his eyes.
"Bruce. You lost me when you went to Selina after you told me you wouldn't go back to her," you tell him, tearing up as well.
"At least let me give you alimony so you don't have to work anymore. If I am going to lose you, at least let me do something good for you one last time," Bruce begged.
"Fine. But I don't want contact with you. I'll talk to the kids gladly and they are more than welcome to visit me or live with me but I am done with you Bruce. Until our child asks about you and wants to see you, then I will tell them about you and that they can visit you with the other kids as supervision. But for now, I don't want anything to do with you," you tell him.
"Y/n-"
"You can mail the paperwork to my lawyer," you tell Bruce before walking out. You found Damien and Dick standing by the door after you opened it. You gave them a hug and a kiss on the cheek before walking out. You looked over at Alfred and gave him a small nod.
Alfred walked over to the two boys and handed Dick a piece of paper.
"If you kids want to visit her," Alfred tells them before walking off.
Damien rushed out after you. He wrapped his arms around you, stopping your tracks.
“Don’t leave me Ummi. Please.”
“I’m sorry Damien. Alfred gave my address to you kids so if you want to visit me, you can. But I need to go right now,” you tell your son. Damien nodded before letting you go. You kissed his head once more before getting into your car and driving off.
----
Bruce never interacted with you again after that day. He knew where you lived due to following the kids over to visit you. But he never went down to talk to you. He knew that you were stubborn and that you were holding your ground on not wanting to see him again. He just wished that he could take everything back to have you back in his arms.
The years went on and the kids began to grow up and move out of the house. That was until he got a knock on the door one day.
A girl who looked too much like you stood in front of him as she stared up at him. She couldn’t be older than ten.
"Are you Bruce Wayne?" She asked him.
"Yes I am."
"Hi! I'm Ella. I'm your daughter," she introduced.
"Ella," Bruce sighed in awe. He kneeled down to her height so he can look at her better. "Where's your mother?"
"She doesn't know I'm here. Which reminds me. I need to call her to tell her that I'm okay and that I'm sorry for running away to find you," Ella tells him.
"She will definitely have a heart attack. Come on," Bruce said, holding her hand.
He watched as Ella talked on the phone with you before she looked up at him.
"Mama wants to talk to you," she said, handing the phone over to him.
"Hi, Y/n."
"Is she okay? Is my baby okay?" You asked.
"She's okay. I got her."
"I don't know how on Earth she managed to get to you! I know I said I never wanted to see you again but please bring her back home. We can talk about her seeing you every weekend or something," you tell Bruce.
"Of course."
"I know you know where I live. Just come over with her please. Now," you say.
"I will."
Bruce took Ella back home where you waited for them.
"You young lady are grounded!" You sternly tell your daughter.
"But mom-"
"No buts. Go to your room!" You ordered her. Ella hugged her father before running to her room.
"Y/n-"
"Thank you for bringing her home safely. I can drop her off every weekend if you're not busy for her to see you," you tell Bruce.
"If you think that's best for her."
"She’s been asking to meet you,” you tell him. Bruce stayed silent for a moment.
“How are you?”
“Fine. How are you and Selina? Have you two been raising your child together nicely?” You asked him.
“We aren’t together. She put the child up for adoption,” Bruce explains.
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“And I’m sorry for everything. Are you happy?” Bruce asked you.
“I’ve been better.”
“You know, I never stopped thinking about you.”
You stared at him for a moment.
“I’ll drop her off next weekend after she’s grounded. You can have her for the weekend as well as Father’s Day. I’ll have my lawyer draft up a new custody agreement,” you tell Bruce.
“You could always come with her,” Bruce said.
“No. Like I said years ago Bruce. I’m done with you. I can forgive you. But you also proved to me that you will never love me as much as I loved you,” you tell him.
“I’m sorry Y/n. For everything,” Bruce said before walking out of your home.

hi again i'm the Anon who asked if you take commisions only or requests as well. I love your writing style<3
Soo could you write about Batmom reader, where reader took care of bruce's children as her own. But then bruce gets a mistress, reader still stays becuz of the kids but when everyone started to become cold to her and insult her ' X (mistress) is better mom then you ever were' she leaves gonthem. Then everyone realises she (mistress) was just after their money. They go to batmom's room to apologize only to find it empty. They try to find her everywhere but couldn't. And finally when they do, reader rejects them since she was having the time of her life without responsibilty but gets kiddnapped by the batfam?
Honestly i wanted to commision but i'm flat broke and i'm too busy studying to work and on top of that i don't have my own phone (i use my dad's old laptop) soo yeah... I hope you consider this.
A/N: Loooove this request thank you for sending it in <3 fem reader yandere themes lmk if you want a part two
The (L/n)'s were a wealthy and prominent family in Gotham, right up there with the Wayne's when it came to power over the city, the two families were in business together which is why when Bruce Wayne personal attorney came to you with a marriage proposal, you weren't surprised.
A marriage of convenience. You thought you knew what this would entitle, you knew this wasn't out of love, that this was required of you, it had nothing to do with what you actually wanted, but you were dutiful and signed, inking your name on the paper felt like a deal with the devil.
Bruce hadn't bothered to officially meet you until the day of the wedding, it was beautiful and well done but lacking any form of love of affection, CEOs and other rich folk you didn't recognize filled the pews, the ring felt cold when he slipped it on, his vows perfectly rehearsed, and not an ounce of warmth in his eyes, you knew that night you should have annulled the marriage, but something made you hold on, something your mother had said to you as the makeup artist turned you into the visage of a bride.
"You'll learn to love each other, your father and I did after all." And she wasn't lying, your parents married for convenience as well but had grown to love one another, so maybe you could do the same?
A year after the nuptials Dick Grayson is thrust into your life. Haley's circus was famous in Gotham for its incredible death defying shows, but on this night death would walk the stage, taking with them Dick Grayson's parents in a horrible display, You and Bruce had consoled the boy for only a moment before Bruce was talking to the officers, he'd decided Dick was coming home with you, of course without asking your opinion, but it didn't matter, you felt such pity and grief for the boy, it made perfect sense to you, he was shut down for the first few months, he called you by your name and you had no problem with it, making it clear you never wanted to try and replace his mother, the ice between you two melted one day, one kind word at a time, he couldn't help but confide in you about school or his friends, because you were more emotionally there than Bruce was.
Like the night you caught him sneaking out, a packed bag in hand and the keys to one of Bruce's many cars in his hand. Instead of yelling for Bruce or Alfred you simply smiled at him, "you should take the audi, it's the safest car here."
"..You're not going to try and stop me?"
You shake your head no, still offering that kind smile.
"You know yourself best Dick, if you're unhappy here I won't stop you from finding your peace." He took a moment before tossing you the keys and reluctantly making his way back inside.
You find out about Batman because of Dick. He'd come home with some nasty bruises and it wouldn't take long to put two and two together. Them both being missing at the same time, Dick started to pull away from you, one night, after hours of trying to get to sleep in a bed much to big for one body, your legs decided a walk was necessary, the halls were dark and quiet, giving the manor an eerie air, quietly you walked the long hallways intending on stopping by the library, as you turned the corner you seen Dick in a hidden elevator, the doors just slamming shut as your eyes tried to register what was there. Seconds after the doors close a wall appears, as if nothing was ever there. It's not long after that you see a brief news clip of the caped crusader and his new sidekick, because the longer you stared at the screen, the more familiar they began to look, that dead tight lipped scowl on Batman's face, it was one you'd had the pleasure of looking at for the past few years.
That night you confronted Bruce, he seemed surprised you'd figured it out, but he didn't deny it. Simply saying, "It's late (Y/n), get some sleep."
You nearly divorced him then and there for endangering a child the way he was, but after a moment of thought, you realized Dick would need a real parent around so you stayed, making Bruce swear to be careful.
Jason comes next and he takes to you a lot faster than Dick. He craved the warmth you offered, you two had inside jokes and a closer relationship than him and Bruce, but that all changes the day he dies. You're broken, a ghost haunting the manor with your presence, and Bruce is no comfort throwing himself into the Batman role, you begin to hate him a little with this particular betrayal.
Tim was another hard egg to crack but you were desperate after Jason's death, so you took his verbal lashings with a smile, were always there to offer a helping hand with any of his projects despite the help never being accepted. Tims wound from losing his father is too raw, he takes a lot of his anger out on you. And you weathered the storm with a soft, warm smile.
Damian hated you, from the moment he arrives, which is bitter enough as is because it meant Bruce was unfaithful, he's spitting out insults and comparing you to his 'perfect' mother.
Things weren't great in your life, but one day they started getting noticably worse. Dick no longer responded to your check in texts, Jason (now reanimated which was a heart attack in and of itself) saw you as the enemy, you didn't leave Bruce after what happened to him, so in his eyes you betrayed him, Tim ignored your existence as best as he could, and Damian? He'd started staring at you with this smug look on his face, like he knew something you didn't.
Bruce had all but ran from you, he didn't sleep in your shared room anymore, he barely spoke to you at breakfast, if it wasn't for the cameras he wouldn't touch you.
And it's all because of a woman named Rachel.
Apparently Bruce had introduced this woman to the family, bringing her around when you weren't, slowly replacing you, it was no wonder they started to pull back.
Alfred is the only reason you find out, having enough of the blatant disrespect, he calls you to come home early one day saying it's a dire matter. Of course you comply, and walk in on a discomforting sight. The whole family was gathered at the dining room table, plus a woman you'd never seen before, she sat close to Bruce, toying with his hand intimately. Her green eyes lock with yours and the smile she gives you forms a pit in your stomach.
There's silence before Bruce stands up, he walks over calmly, "Can we take this in the other room." But it wasn't phrased as a question.
"No" you licked your lips, a nervous habit from your youth. Bruce seemed taken back by your sudden backbone. He nods silently.
"I want her gone Bruce. I am your wife. You will show me that semblance of respect."
"I- of course." You don't wait for the words to settle instead, you calmly walk to your room, face unreadable.
Locking the door behind you, your body slides against the frame, a silent sob wracks your frame, your hands covering your mouth, you wouldn't give them the satisfaction of hearing your cries.
The next morning you wake up to breakfast in bed, a generic yet elegant spread of food lay on a tray in the empty spot Bruce used to stay. The man himself sitting in the chair beside the bed, staring at you with that practiced smile he used to appease people.
"Good morning."
"What's this?" You sat up straight, sleep evaporating from your form as you took in the threat before you.
"An apology. I never meant for yesterday to happen."
"What a comfort that is." Your piercing (e/c) eyes stare at him blankly, unreadable. "How long."
"A year." You scoff pushing the breakfast away from you like it was poisonous. "But its not what you think, Rachel is a childhood friend, a year ago our relationship, evolved into what it is now, but I was never intending to go behind your back."
"Ah of course, your intentions were pure." The words dripped venom, grabbing your robe you quickly dress before standing and walking to the door, "Thank you for the wonderful talk Bruce, really your people skills are top notch." Your hands gesture to the door. He leaves without a word.
The rest of the day is as usual, Bruce avoids you like the plague, the rest of the family acted as if you weren't there. Which made leaving all too easy.
Your lawyers had the divorce papers ready and hour after you called them, signing them felt like the first act of self love you'd done in years. Slipping them into Bruce's study you took the time to analyze the room you never entered.
It matched Bruce that's for sure, pictures of every single person in the family. All except for you.
Walking out the door, wrapped in your ankle length black faux fur coat, the garment whipped in the wind, the designer sunglasses on your face hid your eyes from the world, hair in a slicked back bun, your heels echoed against the pavement, a sleek black car was waiting for you, you look back at the house that had caused you so much misery then got in the back of the car, never looking back.
Life goes on for about a week, your absence goes unnoticed, that is before Rachel is trying and failing to blackmail Bruce out of a billion dollars, she'd collected evidence he was cheating on you with her and presented it to Bruce with a grin, it was only as he went through the pictures of himself and Rachel, did he notice the yellow envelope with his name written on the front.
Hey puts the heartbreaking matter of Rachel's betrayal on the back burner, Bruce opened the envelope and felt his heart completely stop at the word divorce written in bold lettering across the top, your signature was already there, waiting for his to join it.
Ignoring Rachel completely now he turns in his chair, turning the paper over and over as if it would magically change. But it remained the same. Alfred knocking on the door of his study broke him from his trance. "Master Wayne, miss Rachel." He says the latter's name with no warmth. "Escort Rachel to her car Alfred."
"Bruce have you heard a word I've said? I'm serious I'll go to Gotham daily right now if you don't -"
"Now Alfred."
That was all it took for the screaming woman to be firmly escorted off the premises. Bruce all but ran to your room, he didn't bother knocking, and despite knowing in his heart you were already gone, he couldn't help but check anyway.
Your room was empty and cold, he couldn't believe the date he'd read on the divorce papers, it was dated a week ago, meaning you'd been gone for a week and he hadn't noticed. No one had.
That is until Bruce remembers there's someone in the house nothing gets by.
"How long have you known she was gone Alfred?" He asks leaning on his knuckles the divorce papers stared back at him taunting him. "Since the moment she left." The older man replied simply his hands behind his back. "Why didn't you tell me immediately?" Bruce felt himself tense, "Because you've hurt that woman enough Bruce. She deserves at least this." He gestures to the daunting divorce paperwork before turning to leave Bruce with his thoughts.
The news of Rachel's betrayal shook the manor each member feeling violated by their trust being broken. But it was nothing compared to their reaction once they finally realized you were gone.
"That was rough." Jason says after watching Rachel being dragged out of the manor, he blew air out of his cheeks arms crossed over his chest, he looked towards the hallway that lead to your room, you had to have heard that he thought to himself.
Dick sighs through his nose, "Someone should check on (y/n), Rachel was screaming so loud she definitely heard that." No one volunteers so Dick rolls his eyes and heads towards your room.
He lifts his hands to knock but noticed the door was open, pushing it further he's met with a baren room, his brow furrowed in confusion before he makes his way to Bruce's study. "Hey B, have you seen (y/n)? Her room is like weirdly empty."
Dick found his Father where Alfred left him, leaning over the divorce papers silently a storm in his eyes.
As he steps closer and reads the paperwork Bruce was staring so intently at, his heart stopped.
"Holy shit- are those real?"
"Yes." Bruce finally spoke his voice horse. There was a moment of silence before Dick left the room practically running down the stairs to alert the others.
"(Y/n) left Bruce." He said still processing the information, "No fuckin' way." Jason says pushing himself off the counter he leaned on. "Her room is empty and he has the papers, she's gone."
Each member of the family had different reactions to this information.
Dick tries calling you only to be met with a disconnected number, his heart hammering in his chest, he wasn't as close to you as when he was younger sure, but you were a constant in his life, always had been, a pillar of support, and suddenly you weren't. It felt like the floor had gotten pulled out from under him.
Jason curses under his breath, his mind working a mile a minute, he had barely spoken to you since his Resurrection, something he deeply regretted as the information of your leaving sinks in like a brick thrown into a river.
Tim, ever calculating is trying to figure out where you went, you were a figurehead in his life, someone that was literally never not there, sure he wasn't close to you in the slightest but that doesn't mean he wants anything to happen to you, someone as quiet and soft as you on your own in Gotham? It didn't sit well with him. Not one bit.
Damian didn't know what he was feeling at the news, he supposed he should feel nothing, after all you were nothing to him, but there was this nagging feeling in his chest that he couldn't quite place. And he hated it. How dare you leave and upset his fragile ecosystem?
Meanwhile in the Bahamas, far from Gotham and the neglectful family you'd left behind, you sat lounging on a private beach, a knitted hammock cradles your body, a designer baby pink bikini covers you, a matching sunhat protects your face from the hot sun, you can't wipe the smile from your face, humming a tune from your childhood you barely flinch when someone takes the seat besides your hammock.
"Do I want to know how you found me?" You ask, eyes still closed as you bask in the warmth. You knew only one person had the sources to find you on your own island, and despite how much you resent the man, even his presence can't ruin your shine in this moment.
"You're my wife (Y/n), I'll always know where you are." Bruce speaks softly as if trying not to startle you. "Former wife." You correct cracking an eye open, a small smirk curling on your lips.
"Not until I sign those papers- which I never will."
"huh, I thought you'd be thrilled." You muse to yourself before folding your tanning mirror and setting it aside, you take off your Louis Vuitton sunglasses, blinking your pretty (e/c) eyes up at him, "Figured you and your little Twinkie would have tied the knot by now." You laugh softly, the sound, unfamiliar to Bruce, sent warm shivers down his spine, it causes his lips to quirk up in a small grin.
"She's gone."
"Well, I don't care."
There's a beat of silence before he's offering you his hand. "Will you walk with me? I know I don't deserve it."
You sigh before getting up, ignoring his hand, you nod your head reluctantly, "Well? Hurry up I've got dinner at six."
His smile remains as he begins leading you along the shoreline. It's relatively quiet between you two as you walk side by side, a peace between you both you hadn't ever felt. "The manor isn't the same without you." He breaks the silence, "I sincerely doubt that." You laugh at the very notion. "It's true- it's colder, quieter, I want you to come home."
"That was never my home, you made that abundantly clear."
He winces as if your words cut him, "I know I haven't been a good man to you, I know I've failed you time and time again but I..I looked at those divorce papers and my heart stopped." He admits running a hand through his hair.
"You can't leave me."
"I can't?." You scoff, your movement halting, "I'm a grown woman- I'm taking responsibility for my own happiness, you can't stop me."
"I wasn't asking." He says softly, his hands in his pockets, he had this fond look on his face, like he was staring at you for the first time, in a whole new light. "You can't make me." You say, brows furrowed, "You belong back home, you're supposed to be with me, till death do us part, remember?" He steps forward making you step back, your eyes wide, hands shaking, you back into a wide chest, spinning to face Dick, who's grinning at you, he's in his Nightwing costume, he gives you a small wave of his hand, you scrunch your face in confusion, "What the hell-" your thought is cut off by a small pinch in your neck, the needle in Bruce's hand is empty in seconds, he's cradling your stumbling form, holding you tightly, "Don't worry - I'll fix this."
Your sleeping body is gently carried to the batplane, Bruce holding you close to his chest as Dick pilots the plane, he whispers promises into your hair, rocking you against him as he swears on his life to make things right, weather you liked it or not.

batmom cass: reveal
masterpost
Oh. Fuck. He was invisible. A flood of genuine fear washed through him. He was discovered again, he was away from any allies, he had to get away-
Danny went intangible out of sheer survival instinct and lurched downwards. Bruce made a punched-out sound and lunged to grab him. He actually got his hand around Danny’s wrist and clenched despite Danny being invisible to human eyes. It was no use. Danny slipped through his grip, the chair, and then the floor.
He caught himself there and paused, hovering in the flooring. He could see the weird joints underneath the kitchen, a dark crawl space with way more spiders than Alfred could possibly know about. One of them reared up and waved its front legs at him in what was either a threat or a greeting. Danny shuddered involuntarily and pulled back a little to give the arachnid personal space.
“Danny?” Cass’s voice was muffled but calm. “Sit in your chair, please.”
She made it sound so sensible.
He blinked rapidly. “Right. Right, okay.” He floated back up through the floor and avoided eye contact as he settled back into place and the visible spectrum. He stole a glance around the room. Cass and Damian looked unaffected. Bruce’s face said the same, but the pulse point was jumping rapidly in his throat. His hand was pressed firmly against his thigh as if to remind him that it was a physical thing that existed.
“This GIW is harmful to you?” Damian asked, sensible and unaffected. He pushed his empty yoghurt away a few inches on the tabletop. “I gather from the acronym that we are dealing with an organization rather than an individual.”
“....Yeah.” Danny gripped his knees under the table and clung to the hint of normalcy. If they were going to act like that hadn’t been weird, then maybe he was okay. “I think they’re government affiliated. They say they are. They, uh.” He cleared his throat. “They’re the Ghost Investigation Ward, but I call them the Guys in White.”
“And they are a problem because?” Damian asked crisply. Cass was watching with the full force of her formidable attention, but it wasn’t a heavy gaze.
Danny forced himself to stop fidgeting. “Well, I might have died a little.” It came out as a question. “And they’re not sure it’s me- at least, they weren’t, but I guess that they are now.” Oof, that was hard to internalize. Of course they did. Now that they knew about Vlad, they had all the pieces to put it together. His parents had definitely put it together. The look on Mom’s face when she saw him hauling Vlad out of the lab…
He felt cold. Danny rubbed at his thighs as if that would help.
There hadn’t been another choice. It ate at him a little bit that Danny had thrown his life away for someone he didn’t even like, but what else could he have done? Vlad was Vlad, yeah, but Danny couldn’t have left anyone there.
Bruce had a look that Danny had never seen on him before. Intense. Focused. Dangerous. Danny instinctively pulled away from it, sitting all the way up in his chair.
Bruce wiped it away, but the memory still sent Danny’s blood rushing. Ecto gathered in his mouth like saliva, his body readying to fight for his life. He swallowed it down with difficulty.
“As you said,” Cass interjected. She scooted her chair a little closer to him and laid an arm along his shoulders. “Like Jason.” She rubbed at his upper arm. He leaned into her touch.
“Like Jason,” Bruce echoed. His tone was hollow.
Danny ducked his head and missed the meaningful look that Cass shot her BatDad.
“What are their capabilities?” Damian pushed. His dark eyes glittered when Danny looked back at him. “You clearly have invisibility and density shifting. Are they able to counter you?”
“Yeah, something like that.” Danny blinked rapidly to try to force himself to focus. This was… so weird. Someone had found out about him and he wasn’t fighting for his life. Even his friends had found out when he was actively under fire from a ghost. His nervous system didn’t know what to do with this. He cleared his throat. “They have a lot of tech, uh.” He flexed his hands. “From my parents.” He stared at the woodgrain on the table. It was probably real wood and not the heavy duty polymer that the Fenton table was made out of. “They’re not exactly competent, but there’s a lot of them, and they have had some success.”
His stomach lurched. He swallowed hard on bile. He didn’t think about what he’d found when he went after Vlad. He didn’t think about Vlad in his human form, strapped down and incisions pinned open, literal pins holding open his torso and skin layers on his arms. He didn’t think about the quietly despairing hums coming from rows of ghost cores on a shelf, neatly labeled with specimen numbers.
“Let’s walk.” Cass hustled him up and muscled him down the hall without letting go of her comforting grip. Danny went along with it numbly. But she was kinda right. Moving shook him out of his head. The walls were changing around him, curtains and windows and framed portraits and some of Tim’s photography. They passed a room he had never seen before. Cass pushed the door open, let him look around, and then tugged him down the hall before he’d had time to do more than catalogue the novelty.
She did that at the next door, too. Oh. An impromptu tour. The novelty of seeing new things started to drag him back to the real world, right now, which was not exactly a fight for his life.
At the third door, Danny managed, “Does anyone play that piano?”
Cass made a mysterious hum. It took her a while to unstick her tongue. “Damian can. Jason, if you ask with big eyes.”
Danny nodded at this information. Damian did seem like the kind of person who would hone a few classic artistic skills. And Jason was manipulable, good information.
…Not that Danny would need much help there. He felt a little sheepish at how threatened he’d felt earlier when he remembered the sincerity and protectiveness he could sense from both Cass and Jason.
“What should we do about GIW?” Cass broached the topic, as if she knew that he felt better. She probably did know. “Investigate cautiously? Destroy?” She held up two fingers to count off the ‘destroy the GIW’ options. “Horde of lawyers descend from Wayne Enterprises jet, or Justice League?”
Danny snorted. It turned into a laugh, hysterical and too long. He wiped tears away from his eyes. “Personally, I like the idea of blowing up their base,” he admitted. “But someone should rescue the test subjects first.”
“Oh?”
Cass was so weirdly easy to talk to. He leaned a little harder against her. She wasn’t a big woman, but there was something so solid about her anyway. It must be a Black Bat thing. “I left because I was getting someone out,” he admitted. “They were a lot more captives than I knew about.” He squeezed his free hand to ground himself. “I grabbed as many as I could and tossed them through the portal, but I don’t know if that was everyone or if just being home let them heal up.”
Hell, maybe someone had come along and eaten all the helpless cores. Danny shied away from the horror of that thought. His intuition had identified the helpless ghost cores as viable ectoplasm, healing and delicious. They were scared at his approach because they sensed him, they knew they were helpless shells to crack open and lick out the sweet marrow–
Ah. Yup. He stopped in his tracks and heaved his snack onto the carpet.

Yan! Batfam x Teacher! Batmom
All platonic besides Bruce
First off, you were Dick’s teacher at Gotham Academy, and the most sympathetic to him. You knew how hard the transition was, especially since he had learned on his feet most of his life, so you decided to have most of your classes on their feet at some point, and offered him help with homework
Dick absolutely adored you. He was suspicious at first, but after a little while he grew way more comfortable. The change from the circus way of life to living in a city permanently and having to go to school was astronomical. You were the only teacher who seemed to realize that and try to help him. You threw a ball around for the class to answer things, played games to help people learn, and comforted/defended him when people looked down on him for his background.
People learned very quickly not to complain about you or your class, otherwise they would have to deal with ‘pranks’ like being doxxed, having their things ending up in trees, and their parents deals falling through.
On the first parent teacher night, Dick dragged Bruce over to you. Bruce had already heard of you from Dick and done his own surface level research on you.
The minute this man met you, he understood why Dick loved you so much. You just gave this aura of light and comfort that no one else could ever measure. You were kind and understanding and sweet.
(Note, Bruce isn’t completely yandere yet. He is starting to be, but I like slow burn. Dick is 100% yandere though.)
Dick threw a major tantrum when he learned he would have to leave your class. He was aggressive and started purposefully failing your class. It got to the point where you called a meeting between you and Bruce and Dick where you talked about everything.
You met with them at the manor, and after a few minutes, you managed to get it out of Dick why he was upset. You quietly told Dick that while you would miss him too, you would be very upset if he stayed back for him.
However, Bruce and Alfred managed a solution. With a few bribes to the school, they started a theatre club that you would run(they did research and knew you liked theatre) and that Dick would be your assistant, and he would still have the option after he graduated.
Everything was back to normal for you, besides the fact that all of your dates never lasted anymore. You couldn’t figure out why?
Then, Jason Todd was enrolled in your class
I hope you guys like this! This is my series for Romantic Yan! Bruce x Reader.

BRUCE WAYNE | BATFAMILY (generalized fanon)
—

Going to Carnival w/ Bruce + some of the other bats (Bruce Wayne x Batmom!Reader)
Headcanons
SFW, established relationship(s), BATMOM, vigilante coordination, fluff, vacation, caribbean setting, civilian shenanigans, dancing, ✨the Fox Family ✨ -caribbean!reader
Mind my choppy ass yanking; it’s the story of my life, just go with it. Pictures used are just for aesthetics and have no contextual meaning to the story. (Pic source — Batman Vs Robin & Justice League: War DCAMU)
In true Bruce fashion he does extensive research for the occasion. He wants everything to go perfectly and can’t help but to obsess like the Batman he is.
He has to plan every last detail to make sure you have a brilliant time on your trip, obviously, but he also needs to make sure things with the rest of the Bats, Wayne Enterprises, the Justice League, and Arkham and Blackgate facilities will be okay while he’s gone. Gotham cannot fucking explode, implode, none of that shit while he’s on vacation; Bruce would never forgive himself.
Before you leave you give Bruce strict instructions that there is to be no working during your trip unless an emergency comes up. Predominantly - not wanting to disrupt what Dick has going on away from Gotham without good reason - you ask Jason to pull on the cowl for a day or two, to expand his usual patrol route as Red Hood, to keep in active contact with Stephanie (and maybe Kate), and to coordinate more closely with Barbara while Bruce is away.
In return for them picking up Bruce’s slack (more than usual, considering your husband has blind spots in his vigilantism that you are under no delusions about) you promise everyone something.
Steph her first handcrafted silver sterling bangle, Jason some fresh preserved lemongrass (some of which you’ll have to smuggle probably; but Bruce had a private jet for a reason and bringing regional herbs back to the States for his crime lord son, as someone who amounts to a long standing criminal himself, was by far the least illegal thing he’d done ever), to cover Barbara’s shifts as Oracle on coms for a few days while she’s away with the Birds of Prey, and to bring Kate back an island made covah/muumuu (in maroon) for the favor she was doing you.
Kate’s involvement at all is mostly due to her having been in the city by chance as Bruce was setting his vacation plans in motion; her and Luke happening to have just finished up their own mission overseas.
Superman is also aware that Bats is out of the country and is keeping an ear out (though he isn’t supposed to intervene without Jason or Babs asking with the exception of anything catastrophic happening so Superman isn’t indisposed without good reason). Neither you, nor Bruce, had needed to ask him either. Clark had heard all about how much Bruce was driving himself and, as a result, you up the wall for your (much needed in Bruce’s case) vacation from Lois after you’d spent half of Girl’s Night with her, Tanya, and Iris bemoaning your partner’s paranoia.
He’s straight up bemused when he's informed about Batman being “indisposed” for a week, but agrees to look out for the gloomy city while he’s away, and is smirking when he reminds Bruce to try letting that stick go lax for once while he’s in the tropics with you.
Bruce flushes to his ears and you laugh until you start to hack up a lung, hanging off of him as he holds you up by the waist and glares at his best friend. Clark plays dump like a master though, and eventually Bruce just has to grumble about him as you drag him back to the car to finish some last minute planning in Gotham.
Really, far too much work goes into just Bruce alone taking this trip with you. You can’t even imagine the hassle getting the other Bats you're close to down to your island for a visit will be.
You only get stopped by a handful of people during the trip as a whole (mostly visiting Americans), but the majority of people don’t recognize Bruce since he’s Gotham royalty. Because of this he doesn’t have to put on the Brucie persona outside of whatever expensive suite you’re staying in, and he doesn’t have to be Batman during the trip either, which helps him relax significantly better since he can just be Bruce. Like this he gets to be a regular person more than he’d usually get the opportunity to be when spending mundane civilian time as a couple (and as a family) in public.
The moment Damian sees more than two wild dogs Bruce and you have to pull out the ‘no picking up strays’ lecture because even through the rear view mirror you can see the glint in his eyes.
Bruce plans for Damian (and Duke, if he’s able to pull him away) to attend Children’s Parade. If Duke comes he squints at you the second the announcer explains which event exactly he’s at, but you just stare at him right back and remind him that he is a child and that he needs to get up out your face and go do child shit already.
Damian is rather worse, but you lead the group closer to the steelpan players warming up and soon his complaining is drowned out by the beginnings of music. He stops speaking to glower at you and you only raise a brow alongside Bruce before he eventually gives in with a huff. Duke pats him on the back and leads him away to ‘go do child shit’.
Damian likes the parade, even at fourteen he’s not too old for that much despite the clear interest he tries to play off. And while he’s not going to be mystified by the Moko Jumbies (which you didn’t expect him to be) the fourteen year old does fully lock onto them when they come walking by and playing around on their stilts and decked in their colorful clothing and madras.
Cass agrees to come (mostly because she likes you, and also because Duke pouted about it) and ends up loving the majorettes. She follows every single group and cheers within her own limits the entire time.
Cass follows so closely to the steelpan players during their performance that you’re genuinely worried for her eardrums until you glance at Bruce worryingly and he gestures to his ears in explanation. Ear plugs; shed be alright.
Cass (and Luke) leave to go deal with some business that needs her that the Outsiders are dealing with, and instructs you fully to keep Bruce out of the loop until you get back from the trip, poking fun at Bruce before she leaves to go flaunt her expertise.
Duke is disappointed she’s going and that he won’t be able to meet up with the Outsiders again, but when you try nudging him to leave he shoots you down. They didn’t need him, he reasons. Plus, it was rare he ever got a true break from being Signal so he planned on taking advantage of the occasion— and vehemently stomping down the misplaced guilt he was feeling bcs of that with some help from Bruce.
Duke doesn’t tell you, and neither does Damian, but your youngest isn’t as aggrieved as he *thinks* he should be about the break from fighting villains and running around on rooftops that he’s taking either, even more so than Duke right then.
After Cass is gone you guys lose Duke and Dami for a solid three hours. Most every call to them is answered, but only with a cryptic reassurance that they aren’t doing anything illegal. When they finally do come back they keep mum about what they were up to but smell suspiciously of soot.
Bruce fully suspects that they managed to get into the building where the fireworks and pyrotechnics are being kept. You give the boys a stern look but make Bruce let it go since nothing actually managed to go up in flames, and because you’re sure they had a good reason (*cue mom glare*).
Duke might not be your son but he still helps Damian bribe you with some of the foods you haven’t been able to have as authentically in Gotham until you convince Bruce to let them run off again.
Shock of all shocks (not) Damian prefers coconut tarts.
Duke wants to like the pineapple tarts — because it’s “on brand” — but it’s the guava that wins him over.
Unlike his son Bruce is not a fan of any of the tarts, but you’ve long realized that he likes less obtrusive sweet things like banana fritters more.
Damian and Duke at random intervals intercept you and Bruce walking around to inquire about certain murals, art installations, or statues that you’re passing.
Duke also steadily extracts a promise from you to put together a playlist with all the soca music playing around ayo during the parade in it for him to listen to whenever he’s in a music mood. Shazam just wasn’t moving fast enough for him to collect the songs himself while also running around.
By the end of the night (ayo have been out since Carnival started) Duke has his face painted, there’s confetti in his hair, and he’s legitimately ready to go to sleep due to how hard he'd been ramping all over the place. In comparison, Damian’s neck is decorated with beaded necklace after beaded necklace, he’s eaten more tarts than you could keep track of, and is still as ready to conquer the night as ever.
Neither boy particularly likes the fireworks, though Duke is more forgiving since he’s mostly just tired. Bruce likes seeing the way you light up though. While you don’t stay all the way through the show you do stay for a good while because Bruce loves you and wants you to enjoy yourself.
You and Bruce attend Adult’s Parade on your own. Though you’re sure that the boys are getting up to trouble, also running off from where you’re all staying, since you only really have Lucious and Tanya free enough to verbally check up on and keep an eye on Damian and Duke (and their trackers). Lucious had volunteered to keep closer track of their positions during his months long leave — rather than Barbara having to do so when she needed to focus more on coordinating everyone back in Gotham — and Tanya hadn’t minded. It wasn’t like checking in actually stopped her and her husband from doing anything. Bruce promises them a care package anyway.
Bruce wouldn’t really like dancing in the parade circuit or being a part of a troop. He’d much rather prefer the other days of Carnival to attend with you specifically: live concert days, cultural nights, art galleries, and most especially touring any of the island's historical sights.
He’s not as generally excited about the food, but he does love (if you’re inclined) how partial you are to the options presented by all the food vendors and is more than willing to indulge you.
If there’s one available he’ll sign you guys up for a sightseeing relay race as a surprise. How good or bad of a surprise you view the race through your island’s various monuments and beaches depends on you. Honestly, there’s a high chance you didn’t even know they held a race for the event season.
All of these things are just a much more mellow way for Bruce to connect with you and for you both to share in your culture.
He will, however, absolutely not deny you going to dance with a troop at all despite participating in the parade not being his thing. Depending on what you want he either won’t or will come (and if he doesn’t it’s bcs you’ve gone with your friends or whatever), but if he does come Bruce will under no circumstances dance in front of so many people when he’s not having to put on the Brucie persona (which he certainly doesn’t want to put on whilst on vacation).
Mostly Bruce just goes with you but doesn’t dance (it’s hard to follow/track people on the sidelines behind gates and/or between people sitting or standing on the sides of the street to watch the parade).
Mostly lets you dress him begrudgingly. Though he does like matching with you he still isn’t used to being dressed so loudly and inconspicuously.
Bruce is dressed for the weather (only in all red) and wearing shades. His hair is all fluffy without any product in it and he’s wearing fishnets and streams of ribbons that match the ones you’re wearing with your full getup of colorful billowing fabrics, short clothes, and sequin adornments in matching with your troop/section of the parade and the band you’re dancing with.
He’s perfectly happy to hold onto things for you and others if need be and is otherwise not broody or anything. Even just getting him to have a little bounce in his step while walking with you is a win that’s easy to come by.
Bruce is also an absolute sight in fishnets. If the tabloid and gossip mags could see his abs in the colorful sleeveless fishnet “shirt” he’s got on under his short sleeve button up they’d be losing their minds as much as you are. He looks very nice and you tell him as much when you’re pinning and draping streams of colorful madras and printed fabric to the shoulders of his shirt.
In turn Bruce literally pauses mid call, earpiece in, when you come out of the bathroom dressed in your Carnival gear (or outfit, if you’re not a part of a more strict troop). In your shorts and colorful ribbons and ting you’re a vision and he nearly forgets to end his call before crowding you for a kiss.
The ribbons you’re wearing, and that you’ve pinned to Bruce as well, are traditionally reminiscent of maypole ribbons that your forebears had stripped the poles of in order to wear them in celebration of their freedom.
As opposed to wearing comfortable sneakers you’re in the pair of practical combat boots Bruce got you that you’ve decorated to be on theme with the rest of your getup. He is also in those same boots in his own size.
Alternatively, if you’re wearing feathers and an intricate headpiece then Bruce is wearing an approximation of your costume too. He’s still dressed in an expensive pair of board shorts and a linen short sleeve button down, but now he’d be in all black with his only pops of bright colors being from the parts of his outfit that match what you’re wearing. You’re both wearing matching arm/leg bracers & the same feathers you used have been adorned to make a little crown at the back of his head like the one you’re wearing.
Bruce is decked out with jewel accents and sequins too and you're almost shocked at how much he’s indulged you by the time you're finished getting him ready.
To match with the brightly colored boot covers you’re wearing to match the main feathers of your troop’s costumes you give him similarly colored ribbons to tie to the tops of his boots. It’s cute, and you tell Bruce as much just so you can see him blush.
No matter how you’re dressed Bruce stays compliant as you help get him together; letting you talk in circles at his continued prompting about the history steeped into the event you’re getting ready for. His voice is soft as he leads you into explaining the reasons behind the various things you’re decorating him with for the celebration.
Because Bruce isn’t fully matching with the troop he stays at the back of the line (though this does depend on how strict the troop is). You move throughout as you please while dancing and looking uniform with the other women you’re with, but you still gravitate back into Bruce’s orbit intermittently as well.
Bruce absolutely lets you dance on him even though he’s not dancing himself, and he also brings wipes for whenever you drop down to your hands to wukup with your hands to the ground and ass to the air or lose your balance while dancing low to the ground and have to catch yourself.
He loves watching, and he is both happy you’re happy and very eager to get you alone again. You don’t have to hold back or tamp yourself down with Bruce.
If you’re less built for long term walking, or older and been with Bruce for a hot minute, you’re going to end up on Bruce’s back at some point, your knees just aren’t up for the journey the way your spirit is. He’s happy to carry you, and it’s his insistence when he sees you starting to limp or asking for whatever walking aid you might have that gets you hanging off his shoulders in the first place.
You are absolutely no less wutless up there, however, and Bruce only laughs and hikes you up more securely as you cheer and wukup and wine your waist as he’s carrying you. This was a celebration of freedom and emancipation after all, you were going to be as excited and hype as you could possibly be.
From your new vantage point you kiss him on the cheek too and he’s smiling ear to ear the whole time.
When you go to the other events outside of the parades Bruce is more of an active participant.
At concerts Bruce hums. He’s not somehow immune to music or anything, and he tends to hum whenever he lets his mind wander no matter how scarcely he actually allows himself to relax that thoroughly even when you’re back in Gotham. So you’re not shocked when he starts humming while you’re enjoying the live concert music.
When he becomes attuned enough to the rhythms he sways, movements unhurried and gentle, and pulls you closer until you’re both rocking. His arms wrapped around your middle, his warmth at your back, and voice in your ear are a greater balm to your spirit than most anything else on the entire planet and you let Bruce support a lot of your weight as you sing along to the musical acts you're familiar with.
He’s stiff as a board the second you try dragging him into full blown dancing, however. You only laugh at him staring at you like you’re about to announce he’s Batman to the whole of the island, and you know it’s about time you guys find some place to sit down (and hopefully eat) since you’ve been out since daybreak.
Bruce’s tolerance is high nuh raas, so it is near impossible to get his backside drunk by any normal means. Due to this you don’t really end up drunk either, you just end up feeding him sips of half shots of different flavors of rum and have a blast as he rates them while ayo laugh together and listen to people pound melee around you and eat your dinner.
Come to find out Bruce cannot stand coconut rum. You’re thinking coconut and him just don’t agree, and vow to crack one open fresh so he can try some coconut jelly as the real test of his preference.
Throughout the entire trip Bruce actually likes the tan he develops, no matter how used you both are to his Gotham pallor.
The darker, richer, sheen to the brown plains of your skin that you develop over the course of the trip throws Bruce similarly into a tailspin as his tan does you. He loves it, and your new shine coupled with just how much more radiant your excitement at being back in your element has made you has him calling you all variations of beautiful more often than is even his usual (which is saying something because your husband can’t get enough of you and makes a point of never letting you forget).
You also catch Bruce checking in on everyone’s nighttime activities back in Gotham two days in and can only sigh as you press his computer closed and cock your eyebrow at him. He at least has the sense to look embarrassed, grunting a short excuse before he apologizes. The rest of your trip goes on without a hitch after that, however (as far as you know).
NOTES: Hope you enjoyed!!! I’m nervous about this one, I’m not even going to lie, but whatever.
Anyway, I have other characters I want to put in this type of scenario as well so let me know if there’s anything specific you’d maybe like to see. This isn’t all encompassing either, but just what’s come to me by now.
Also, I want to write for the Foxes, but I’ve got to read up on them more before then so it’ll be a while. Also also, we’re going to pretend like all of these characters’ lives are actually stable — and that Tanya in particular doesn’t despise masked vigilantes because I’m allowed to want that (tho that might only be Future State timeline shit so idk).
This fic has a series tag so if you’d like to read the other festival/carnival entries then clicking on that tag would be how you’d find them.
btw: if you’d like to leave a comment I’d very much appreciate it!

Caribbean words of the Day (ie: the glossary):
“Ayo” (pronounced “īˈyō” 2 syllables) — meaning and use equivalent to “you all” or “y’all”. There’s also a greater origin to where the word as a whole comes from but I’m not going to get into all of that rn.
“Nuh Raas” — I don’t really have a direct translation for this one; the most I can do is compare its use to “like fuck” or “as hell” and other comparative sayings like those. It’s a way to further exaggerate something; think “very”.
EX: “Bruce’s tolerance is very high.” = “Bruce’s tolerance is high nuh raas.” 🤷🏾♀️
“Pound Melee” — the action of gossiping; seriously talking other people’s business or talking shit.
“Wutless” — Meaning ‘troublesome’; a
Caribbean slang, also means to not care profoundly about anything, and just having a hell of a time not caring what anyone says or thinks of you. (def taken from here, though I spelt it differently bcs that how I hear it)
*remember, though, that dialects are regional so the words in this glossary aren’t used by every caribbean*

Batmoms biggest "fan"
A small thing that I wrote and completed a long while ago. I decided to go back to school and I'm now getting the hang of everything. enjoy this story wherein- You (fem batmom reader) have a sort of fanclub. This fanclub however has the rest of the family on edge. and your sons do something about it :)
You frown as you took a bite of of your food. You were stood up… by your own husband of all people. At a nice restaurant that he chose.
For a mission that he won’t even tell you the details about. That of course didn’t stop you from indulging in the food and wine that you’ve eaten multiple times. The people around you looked at you with the occasional whispers in between. But you didn’t mind. In fact, with the way you were eating it might as well been a night for Y/N Wayne to be by herself.
The waiter approached the table with a sheepish smile “the bill Miss Wayne.”
You gave him a smile that make even those who despise you blush . You pull out your purse and place cash in the folder, followed by the Bruce’s black card. The server Looked at you confused.
“The black card is for the bill. The cash is your tip.” You say with a wink.
“F-five hundred dollars” he shook his head in disbelief “I can’t accept this.”
You tilt your head to the side “why not? Is it not enough?” You look at his name tag before your phone rang. “You’ve done an excellent job today Jared. Please, accept the tip.”
Jared slowly nodded his head as he return to the back. You check the caller ID and smile “hey hey bird. What’s up?”
On the other end was your second eldest Jason Todd. Slowly he’s been talking to you more as of late. Which brings you joy, the last thing you’d want is for any of your boys to cut you off of their life over Bruce’s actions. Lord knows how hard you try to have both your eldest socialize within the family.
“Nothing much. You free?”
You look around the restaurant “not necessarily. Decided to get some dinner.”
“Where B?”
“Out. He’s busy tonight.”
There was a pause on the other line “right…”
The waiter returned with the card and you signed the receipt . You grabbed your belongings and left the establishment. “So, when’s the next time I get to see you?”
Unbeknownst to you, the very son you were on the phone with stood atop the apartment across from the restaurant.
“I don’t know Ma. I’m on a very important case right now.” Jason said pressing a pair of binoculars watching you intently.
“Hmmm. Well don’t stay out for too long. Honestly, you and your father act the same way when you’re working in a case.”
Jason moved his binoculars slightly behind you. He noticed the waiter watching you from one of the restaurant windows whilst holding a pair of white gloves. Your gloves, you must’ve forgotten them.
“Uh huh. Text me when you get home. Stay safe Ma.”
You look down at your phone slightly shaking your head. You place the phone back into your purse before raises your had at the passing taxi’s.
~Meanwhile~
Jason continued to watch both you and the waiter. It was only after you getting into a taxi that he put all his focus on the man in the restaurant.
Jason heard some shuffling behind him causing him to roll his eyes “Ya know, if you just want a hug you can totally ask.” The man announced his presence with a preppy tone.
Jason grunted “go away Dickhead, I’m busy.”
“No, it looks like you’re stalking mom.” Dick crossed his arms “what are your doing Jay?”
“Working. What are YOU doing? Shouldn’t you be in bludhaven? Doing police work.” Jason quipped as he watched the waiter put Y/N’s gloves in his pockets before returning to work.
“I’m… also working right now.”
Jason finally turned to face his older brother “so you know.”
Dick nodded “Babs has mom’s taxi being traced as we speak. Tim is also tailing the thing.”
Jason took a deep breath before turning around facing the restaurant. Five months, as far as Jason knows, his mother Y/N Wayne has been stalked by a group for five months. And it only seems to be getting worse. Word around the streets is that there’s a twisted fan club. A fan club that is too infatuated with the lady of the Wayne household. And the only way a person can be initiated into the group is by meeting Y/N Wayne.
“Jay. I know you know Bruce is working on this case. Why not join him instead of doing it alone.”
Jason scoffed “please, Bruce will just put the mastermind in jail. And then what? Tell me, are you comfortable with mom having stalkers trying to get to her any chance they get?”
Dick didn’t respond, which cause Jason to laugh “exactly. That man did nothing when I died. I’m not taking that risk. Not when my Mom is involved.”
Jason noticed the waiter walk out of the establishment and hastily walked towards a dark ally. Jason put his helmet back on “if you want to help, stay out of my way.” Jason, dressed as redhood Jumped down from the building to follow the man.
Dick watched as his brother followed the guy.
“You know he’s going to need some backup right?” He heard Barbra in his ear piece.
“Maybe he’s hungry.” Dick flipped off the building befit grappling the next one. Following his brother.
~~~~~
You arrive to the manor and went straight to the cave. “Bruce! Bruce Wayne show yourself right now!” You yelled into the void it seemed. Bats fluttered about as your husband dressed as Batman turned in his seat. He got up and walked towards you
You pointed a finger at him “you stood me up.”
Bruce rose his hands in surrender “I can explain.”
“It better be good. Because ain’t no way I went to your favorite restaurant only to be looking like a goof ball all alone. The gossip news shows are going to have a field day with this one.”
Bruce didn’t say anything. How could he, on the one hand he’s been trying to figure out who’s actively hunting you down. While on the other hand, he did use you for bait. And that he’ll have no problem taking to the grave.
“Bruce, talk to me. You and the kids have been tense lately. Is the world ending again?” You ask stepping closer to Bruce. You knew his actions were for a reason, but after years of dealing with this kind of thing, it’s starting to bug you slightly.
Bruce finally felt defeated. “You remember Dom? Dom rosenbloom from highschool?”
You giggled “of course. I’ve always found him sweet. Wonder what he’s up to.”
“He’s stalking you” Bruce said bluntly.
Your mouth hung open shocked by the sudden declaration “what? H-how?”
Bruce takes your hand and walks you to the computer. He pulled up multiple videos of this man following you at every instance. Galas, work, the gym, even at the supermarket.
“Bruce. Why didn’t you say anything’s“ you gasped before slapping his shoulder “you used me as bait.”
Bruce smiled slightly. Your tone was most definitely playful given the situation. “I might’ve”
You squeezed Bruce’s hand making him face you. His armored chest rising and falling slowly. You look up into his eyes. He then returned the gesture by placing one of his gloved hands on your face. “On a serious note Honey. You’re in danger so lay low for me alright.”
You nod your head. Your fingers dancing along his chest “That’s still not an excuse to stand me up.” You say standing up on your tippy toes before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. You turn and began ascending the stairs. “I’ll be more carful from now on Bruce. Now… Could you at least join me in the bath~ I think that’ll make up for your silliness.”
Bruce looked at the time then back at you. “It’ll be my pleasure Mrs.Wayne”
~~~
Jason followed the waiter to a run down school. He loaded his gun before stealthily walking into the building.
“Rubber bullets?” Nightwing chirped beside him.
Jason swung his arm around pointing the gun at his brother “keep it up and I’ll use real ones. Just for you.” Jason scoffed “you’re a pain in the ass”
“Not as big of a pain at that one over there.” Dick pointed to the other side of the building. Damian dressed as Robin snuck in through a window before disappearing.
Stressed Jason put the gun away “Wheres his adult.” He said before the two followed the tween down the hall.
~~~
“My brothers! We are gathered here today to honor a priced relic. Mrs.Wayne’s gloves.”
A group of people gathered in the abandoned schools gymnasium. Y/N’s belonging from shoes, jewelry, even discarded hair products were put up on display. Ooo’s and ah’s can be heard from the crowd making Tim feel sick to his stomach. Before he hacked into the building lighting grid gunshots fired. Tim massaged his temple, there was only one other person he can think of that doesn’t have his kind of finesse.
“Alright. Which one of you is the leader?” Red hood parted the crowed of people as he pointed the gun at the man on stage.
Tim moved his head side to side before jumping down from his hiding spot. Knocking out one of the stage guards.
The man attempted to run on the other side but was stopped my a smaller Robin. Damian kicked the guard in the gut before crossing his arms.
The leader’s face turned red with embarrassment “What is the meaning of this. I , Dominic rosebloom will have all of you- ”
“Pfffft I’m sorry. Rose bloom? That’s your name.” Nightwing appeared from behind Redhood who still had the gun pointed at Dominic. “You were bullied weren’t you.”
Dominic opened his mouth to say something but Tim pulled out his laptop. “Actually yes. According to sources Y/n Wayne was his only friend throughout his high school years. Then uhh… Bruce Wayne stole her from him. Gross… anyway You guys didn’t know that?”
“Tsk what does it matter. Let’s settle this quickly. I have something important attend to.”
****
The sun shone through the silk curtains of your bedroom. Normally you’d wake up in bed alone but your husband laid next to you scrolling through his phone. He chuckled slightly before showing you what he was reading.
“Dominic RoseBloom found guilty for harassing and Stalking Mrs.Wayne”
The picture provided was a grown man left out in the open with heart underwear and a dunce hat on.
“No… who would humiliate him like that.” You say pressing a hand over your mouth.
Bruce look at the picture further, he noticed a green cape in the bottom of the photo “our children.”
Dickies Mom has got it goin’ on
Had to get this convoluted, angsty but fun idea out of my head. One day I might expand it into a better-written, fleshed-out fic, but for now please enjoy my yappy ramblings.
Wally West/BatMom!Reader
CWs: Wally being a not so great friend.
So like, imagine you're roughly late 20s/early 30s and happily married to the love of your life Bruce Wayne, there's an age gap sure, but ultimately that's not important. What matters is that you've made a life with him and his children. You're especially close with Dick, his eldest (late teens/early 20s) as you've known him since he was a teenybopper.
All is well, until one day in true comic book fashion; you die. You sacrifice yourself for a greater cause. It's all very tragic.
A decade later, it turns out fate isn't done with you. You've no idea how or why, but you wake in a coffin one day and have to claw yourself out of it. Cold, alone, and afraid, you make your way back to Wayne Manor. There you're greeted by your husband Bruce, but not really. This Bruce is greying. There are fine lines on his face you've never seen before and a ring on his finger that does not match yours.
You're not mad, it's been 10 years, and he was supposed to move on! But it doesn't feel like 10 years to you, it feels like only yesterday everything was perfect. It's devastating.
Queue Dick finding out. He just so happened to be hanging with his best pal Wally at the time, they both drop everything to rush over in a flash.
Your first night back on earth is messy. It's emotional, and stressful, a hell of a roller coaster. Ultimately, you spend most of it with Dick and Jay who surprise is also back from the dead. Dick is really your emotional soundboard, while Jay offers more practical advice about navigating a world that has gone on without you. He recommends you just take some time off, heal your wounds, catch-up with friends and family. You should learn from his mistakes.
Wally helps too. Primarily in a comedian relief way but also just as a sunny friendly face. His freckles and kind green eyes go a long way in making you feel at ease amongst a sea of familiar strangers.
He's adamant you've met before but you insist you'd never forget eyes that green and it stops his heart. You mean nothing by it, but it means a lot to him.
After you’ve parted ways, Dick makes a point of telling Wally not to flirt with you if he ever meets you again.
“Flirting? I wasn't flirting.”
“I was there.”
“But, come on man she's hot!”
“She’s my mom.”
“But she's our age now.”
“Wally, she's my mom!”
Eventually, after a lot of teasing, Wally surrenders but he deliberately makes no promises. He can't, not when he's been replaying the same 5-second interaction you'd had at Dicks 18th Birthday party many moons ago in his head over and over. He’ll try for his best friend, but it seems to him like this was meant to be.
Bruce may not be in love with you anymore, but he still loves you. So he helps how he can, offers you food and shelter, medical attention, a job, whatever you need to get yourself back on your feet.
You decide to take Jasons advice. Bruce still has a lot of your things; your clothes and your car. You ‘borrow’ gas money from your widowed husband and hit the road to seek out lost friends and family. Sad, but eager to get away from the city that no longer feels like home. You leave your rings with Alfred, a sign to Bruce that you expect nothing from him, that you'll leave him and his new wife be even though it breaks your heart.
The first stop is Dick, obviously, since you have to travel through Blüd. After joining him for a routine patrol, you spend the night on his couch, eating Thai food and talking about his life since you… passed. Nightwing as just finding his footing back then, but now he's a force to rival Batman.
You're two states over when you get a call from a number you don't recognise. Most of the people you know have changed their numbers since you last spoke, so don't hesitate to answer. You're surprised however by whose on the other end.
“Wally West? How did you get this number?”
“From Dick.”
He's not lying, he's just omitting the fact that Dick doesn't know Wally got your number from his phone bill. If he didn't want that info getting out he should probably put his bills somewhere other than a lockbox in a safe and quit being only person in the entire world to still actively use a landline.
His not-a-lie works however, the implication of Dick's approval helps you to let down those mother-appropriate conversation walls.
“Heard you're travelling cross country, any chance you plan on stopping in Keystone?”
“Why? Whats in Keystone?”
“Um, the Patriots?”
“Baseball?”
“And hotdogs! Al who serves em does not skimp on all the toppings, you've gotta try em.”
“You want me to detour in Keystone for baseball and hotdogs?”
“Well, there is something else.”
“And whats that?”
“Guess.”
“Unmmm… You?”
“Ding ding ding. She's smart and beautiful, a woman after my own heart.”
He's cute. So cute. He's no Bruce, but Bruce never made you laugh like this.
“Wally, this is a bad ideas. I was married until like a week ago.”
“And? I'm not askin’ you to walk down the aisle again, just one game and like 20 hotdogs. For me. You don't have to eat that many unless you want too.”
hiiii!!🩷 how are you?
I saw that you would like some requests in the #batmom so I have a fic idea
The idea is about each one of the batboys says to Batmom "your not my real mother" like angst/fluff and how would the bat mom react to it and handle it
Not my mother.
Pairing: Jason Todd x Batmom
Genre: Angst to fluff
Warnings: None (?), idk english that well 💀
Synopsis: He loves you , or maybe not?
—
"Jason, this is crazy. How do you have all F's 3 weeks into the semester?"
A disappointed Batmom stood in front of 13(?) year old Jason Todd. She had a frown drawn on her face. Jason looked down, sad that he is disappointing you and angry at himself.
"Do you not do your homework when I tell you to?" She asks a little more assertive while reading all the negative comments the teachers had left.
"I don't know." He responded quietly.
"How do you NOT know?" She was getting heated and it was clear in her tone. "All I want for you is to do your best and you don't even listen to me."
"I do listen to you." He speaks louder, aggressiveness in his tone.
"Jason Peter Todd, do not get an attitude with me because you have consequences to your actions. Now what is going on with you sleeping in class and not paying attention?" Your hands were now on your hips.
"Why do you even care?" You using his middle name made him mad.
"I am trying my best to make sure my son is set up to do good in life." Your hands now on your hips, "Until these grades are fixed, you are to not go on patrol because that is probably the root of these issues."
Jason was at this point angry. You were scolding him like a little kid, on top of that what's Batman without his Robin.
You we're about to walk away but then,
"YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MOTHER, YOU PHONY, I CAN DO WHAT I WANT."
You stopped dead in your tracks. How do you respond to that? You just want what's best for your sweetest Jason.
You turned back to face him, his face was red probably from anger. You were pale, trying to process what your son had said.
"You know what..." You trailed off, "I'll just let your father handle this." You sat down the paper before walking off leaving Jason alone.
Which after he picks up the paper and looks at it.
Oh dear. What has he done?
It's obvious you were actually just caring for him. He was processing everything himself. He just got so angry, angry because he was sad that you were disappointed.
—
In your bedroom shared with your loving husband, you cried endlessly.
Have you failed as a mother? You just want your son to do his best. You didn't understand why he would say that. Maybe you just came off in the wrong way and it triggered him to go off on you.
Just as you were lost in your thoughts Bruce walked in.
"I was looking—" He stopped when he saw you crying and rushed to your side.
Dearest Bruce Wayne only had a soft spot for his wife and kids.
His arm wrapped around you tightly as your cried into his shoulder.
"What happened?" He asks.
"Well Jason brought home bad g—" You stopped for a minute to gasp in between sobs, "Home bad grades and then I was scolding him but I didn't mean to come off wrong and I told him not patrol and then he said.."
"He said what?"
"He said I'm not his real mom!" You exclaimed then cried harder. "I know it's true but I love him so much and it still hurts."
"Y/N, darling." He grabs your chin with his fingers so you're looking his eyes. "You know he probably didn't mean it. He is probably still adjusting to us too. It still won't slide though, I'll talk to him, ok?"
You nod as he pecks your cheek.
—
You were knocked out cold. You probably fell asleep while crying. But your awaken when you feel a smaller body climb in the bed next to you in the bed.
You wanted to smile but you were still half asleep and upset. You roll over to face the figure.
"Hey Y/N." The voice spoke.
"Hi Jay." You responded softly, the tone of sadness in your voice even though you tried to cover it up. However, Jason Todd knew that his mother was upset and he frowned.
You two faced each other while laying there in silence. This lasted for about two minutes before he broke the silence.
"I'm sorry I said what I did."
"I know. It's ok."
"Then why are you do sad?" He questioned.
"Words hurt sometimes Jay and I know you didn't mean it but it still felt like a dagger to my heart."
He frowned even more. He hurt you. The woman who is his mother figure and cares so much for him.
"But I will always forgive you my little one. I'm sorry for being a bad mother." You apologized.
"You're not a bad mother, you're a perfect mother. I'm just a kid who didn't understand you were doing your job until after." He said.
"Jay, I just want you to do good, and always follow your dreams."
"I will mom, I promise." When he said mom you smiled.
He scooted closer to you and you wrapped your arms around him, holding him tight.
This was a mothers love, that is what made you his mom.
"I love you mom."
"I love you most, Jason."
College | Robin/Damian Wayne x Batmom x Batsis
Synopsis: Damian quits being Robin and pursues his path on going to college and med school.
When was the last time Damian and his father had a disagreement? In fact, when was the last time the three Waynes had a disagreement? That was the question that Dick and the others thought when they saw lack of communication between Damian and Vivian with Bruce. The question was, who started it? Could be any of the father and son, and either of the both would have reacted badly, and Vivian would try to reason with them which would lead to either of the father or son lashing out on her.
The patience this woman has… Jason thought then.
What caused all of this was all because of what Damian said about his plans… and maybe a shot at Batman too…
Then there was the last part.
“Dr. Bashar does see value in me. I’m going to apply for his young program, to work in the hospital where Thomas Wayne worked. Then I’m going to do what you couldn’t. I’m going to catch Memento. And after that… I don’t want to be Robin anymore.”
She’s known about Damian’s thoughts on leaving the hero-life for a while now and has been a listening ear to him ever since. She would be in his room and talk to him, either with Val or not—Damian preferred if Valerie was there so he could keep himself busy while they talked—and she had a feeling that his decision would be the very thing he told Bruce.
When Batman came back from patrol that night, he was in a grumpy mood and she asked him what was the problem and where Damian was, his only response was: “Did you know?”
“Know what?” Vivian asked.
“Damian. His work at the hospital. Leaving Robin,” he replied.
“I did, and I told you this a long time ago, Bruce.”
“I thought it was a phase.”
“What made you think that?” Vivian followed him to the Batcomputer.
“Because he kept coming back… but not this time,” he slumped in the Batchair and let out a long and deep sigh.
“I guess not,” she sat on the armrest of the chair and cradled his head. “How did you react?”
He kept silent.
“Considering our son isn’t with you when you come back, not so good.”
“How are you calm about this, Viv?”
“Because before he’s Robin, I see him as Damian. Our son, Bruce. Not just a soldier in Batman’s war!” Vivian got up from the chair, glaring at him. “After all these years, do you still just see that?”
“You know that’s not true.”
“Then act like the father he needs! Not a boss who is pissed because one of his best people resigned! Go to him, Bruce!”
“He won’t listen to what I have to say,” Bruce pouted.
Vivian sighed and ran a hand down her face. “I can’t with you sometimes. You know that?”
“Where are you going?” He asked when she started walking away.
“To be with our family, and when you’re done moping around as Batman, you’re more than welcome to join us up here!”
The couple didn’t speak for a couple of days unless it had to do with Valerie and their work. Damian too didn’t talk to his father for a while, and the tension between the Waynes did not go unnoticed by the rest, especially by the youngest Wayne, Valerie, who saw her parents weren’t smiling like they used to.
She first came to her grandfather about it asking him why her Dada and Momma weren’t talking as much. Then there was Damian who was ignoring her Dada completely, he would only talk to Momma and only Momma. But all Grandpa said was: “Damian is just planning on going to a school far from home, Ms. Valerie,” Alfred said as he picked up the girl from the ground and set her on the table to sit where the biscuits are. “And your father will miss him.”
“Damian’s leaving?” Valerie asked.
“For a while, but not to worry, my dear, it won’t happen for a while,” Alfred reassured her with a biscuit.
But that wasn’t the case when Valerie went to Damian’s room the next day and saw him packing his things. Was he leaving now?!
Valerie ran into his room —
“Valerie?” Damian noticed her.
–then she grabbed his bag and dragged it out his room.
“Valerie!”
“No!” Valerie cried out. “Damian, stay! Please, stay!”
“Valerie, stop it!” Damian grabbed his bag from her and some of his clothes that fell off.
“No! I don’t want you to leave!” Valerie started crying. She grabbed one of his socks and ran away.
“What the—Valerie, get back here, right now!”
“No!” Valerie ran and ran down the hall until she reached the familiar door of her mother’s study, and went in.
“Valerie?” Vivian got up from her work and went to her daughter who was crying and hugging a sock. “What’s wrong, baby?”
“Dami—Dami’s leaving!” Valerie cried.
“What?”
“Valerie!” Damian came to the study and saw his sister in their mother’s arms. “Give me that!”
“No! You’re leaving! I don’t want you to leave!” Valerie hugged the sock tighter.
“Fine! Keep it! I’ll take another pair!” Damian groaned in frustration.
Learning that, Valerie cried harder, starling her mother and brother.
“Val!” Vivian said, surprised at her actions.
Right on time, Bruce, Tim, and Alfred came to Vivian’s study after hearing Valerie’s cries. They asked what was the matter but neither of the mother and son knew why she was crying at all or why she took Damian’s things.
“Dami’s leaving!” Valerie cried. “Because Dada and Dami are fighting! And Momma and Dada are fighting too!”
“What?” Damian asked, completely confused. “Val, I wasn’t packing because of that! I was packing because I need to go… somewhere.”
Vivian was about to ask him where exactly but then remembered her daughter was crying there.
“Grandpa said you were leaving,” Valerie hiccuped.
“Alfred?” Vivian turned to the old butler.
Alfred sighed. “A misunderstanding, I’m afraid. Ms. Valerie noticed that you three were fighting and I told her that it’s because Master Bruce doesn’t want Master Damian to leave for school. I’m sure that’s a better explanation than having to explain the real reason to a toddler, yes?”
He was right about that and there was some truth in it too.
Damian reached out to take Valerie from Vivian and hugged her tight. “I’m not leaving you, Val. I just have to do something first, that’s why I’m packing… but when I do start school, I guess I do have to leave.”
Valerie shook her head. “Don’t go!”
“Val…”
“No! Dick and Jason always leave! Tim leaves! Cassie leaves! Stephie leaves!” Valerie cried. “Not Dami! Don’t go!” She then turned to her father and grabbed his shirt to say: “Say sorry! Say sorry now so Dami will stay!”
“Val…” Bruce looked down at his daughter with sad eyes.
“I think this is a conversation for you three to have,” Tim cut in and took Valerie from Damian who refuses to leave. She thought that if she let go of him, he’ll poof away, just like that magician they saw the other night. “Come on, Val. Let’s go down stairs and have ice cream while your parents and Damian talk.”
“No! Dami will leave!” Valerie hiccuped.
“We’ll hide his things, so he doesn’t.”
“Promise?”
“For sure.”
Once Tim disappeared with Valerie and Alfred, Vivian opened her door for the father and son to enter the room.
“This has to end now,” Vivian told them as soon as she closed the door. “I know that talking about our feelings isn’t our greatest strength, but this time,” a snap of a finger and the father and son were sitting on the chairs that magically flew across the room the back of their legs. “We will sit down and talk.”
“Viv, this isn’t the time… it was just a misunderstanding–” Bruce began.
“She’s right. Mom’s right, Father,” said Damian. “Considering Valerie noticed the tension between us means it is as bad as it looks, and I do not want for any of this to get any worse. If not for the sake of our relationship but for Val.”
Bruce sighed in defeat. “Have you changed your mind?”
“No.”
“The last time you said you won’t be Robin anymore, you came back.”
“Because I was confused then. The first time because I got tired of being Batman’s sidekick. I felt suffocated with all the expectations of being Robin…” Damian admitted. “It was annoying and… well annoying. The other times, I was just confused…”
“It’s either you’re in or you’re out, Damian.”
“Bruce,” Vivian warned him to let Damian finish.
“And this time I know what I want. I know now after my time at the hospital.”
“If this is what you want then why not stop being Robin now?”
Damian then looked his father in the eye and said, “Because the works is not done. I will not leave Robin until we catch Memento, not until I know Mom and Valerie are safe from him.”
“Batman is already on that case.”
“Well Batman hasn’t shown progress. Memento has you running around in circles. I know I can do this… just not on your terms. And after I finish this then I’m stepping down and I’m going through my with work at the hospital and… start applying for university.”
Bruce frowned.
There was silence for a while before Bruce found his voice and the right words to say to his son. “We can work on this together.”
“You’ll only slow me down.”
“We can do the job faster if we do it together. And it would be safer for you too if we do it together. I’ll know you’ll be safe.”
“I can take care of myself.”
“But you’re still my son… and I love you, Damian. Even if we often butt-heads.”
Damian’s eyes widened when he heard those words. The only times he would ever hear his father say those words was when he talks to Vivian or Valerie. Never to them. It was always awkward when Bruce Wayne showed him and the others emotion. The last time he ever heard that was when Bruce brought him back to life after Talia and the Heretic killed him. So he wasn’t sure what to say but: “Just… Just make sure to not stand in my way.”
“I know. But if you’re going to be a doctor you can’t—”
“I won’t kill him. I don’t… I don’t do that anymore.”
Bruce smiled. “What schools have you been looking to apply to?”
“What?”
“I want to know what schools you’ve scouted to apply to.”
“Mom has helped me with going through campuses. She took me on a trip to see universities outside of Gotham, but I read through Thomas Wayne’s journals that he went to Gotham University. I might consider that.”
“While I do respect GU’s medical course, I’m sure there are universities that specializes in the fields of medicine–”
“The reason why I want to pursue this is because I want to help people, not get a fancy title on my name. Not a fancy seat in the hospital. I want to help people, Father. And I think studying here, where I’m close to home, close to where people actually need me, I can do that.”
“Then you will be a fine doctor, Damian.”
Seeing that was the closest to an apology she was getting from the father and son, Vivian got up and walked up to them. “I think it’s best to clear it up to Val now,” she said. “We all owe her an apology.” Leaning down, she placed a kiss on Damian’s head. “Go down and tell your sister that you’re not leaving.”
“But I am tonight, though.”
“Then tell her when you’ll be back.”
“Okay,” Damian left the room, closing the door behind him.
Alone, Vivian took Damian’s seat and looked at Bruce.
“Remember the first fight we had about the boys?” She began.
“It was with Dick,” Bruce leaned his elbows on his knees. “I remember. I can never forget.”
“But there are times, especially recently, that you do… how many times do I have to slap you to make you open your eyes, Bruce?” Vivian sighed. “I know that it was hard for us to raise Damian, because unlike the others he didn’t have the childhood. He didn’t have loving parents nor school. He had mentors and training. But he’s just like Dick and the others, Bruce. He’s Damian first before he’s Robin.”
“It’s hard to imagine Damian, to quote Dick, the blood-thirsties of them all, suddenly stop. I had a vision before about Damian, you know. When Talia had me under her control. He had taken the mantle and he was just… destroying everything.”
“You have little faith–”
“I felt that I was failing him as a father,” He corrected her. “That whatever I do, what I did with Dick and the others isn’t working with Damian. Damian was raised to be a fighter… he had no other purpose other than that then.”
“But then he came to us and he realized that he can be so much more… you let fear drive you, Bruce,” Vivian whispered. “And that’s the problem.”
“Aren’t you afraid that you’d mess up?”
“I do… everyday, especially with Val, but I have faith in them too. But I still try my best. Recently, I get even more scared everyday because every time you both come back I could see that whatever relationship you and Damian have is slowly breaking and one night it'll be completely gone. Completely.”
“It’s not an easy job… we can’t have room for mistakes.”
“I know, but he’s a kid too, Bruce. So it’s okay to make mistakes, that’s how you learn from it… and Damian has been so afraid to make a mistake because he doesn’t want to disappoint you. That’s why you both keep butting heads.”
Bruce sighed. “I’m practically an old man now and I still don’t know how to raise my teenage son.”
Vivian chuckled. “Goodluck, in ten years, you’re going to have a teenage daughter.”
“Daughters are easier.”
“I highly doubt that. Cass doesn’t count… but Val,” Vivian smirked. “That’s something we need to prepare for… and when we do, I hope whatever you and Damian are facing now is fixed. Because Val needs us. All of us.”
“I know… I’m sorry, Vivian… you can slap me now if you want.”
Vivian walked up to him, but she didn’t slap him, instead she hugged him said: “Damian is your fifth Robin now, you should be used to these kinds of breakups… but I know how difficult it is to hear it from your biological son too. You always did think he was going to take the mantle.”
“Can you blame me? When he was young all he talked about was how unworthy the others were,” Bruce chuckled. “I just realized something, Damian retired before I did.”
He expected her to laugh or say something but Vivian stayed quiet. “Viv?”
“And you, Bruce? When will you finally hang up the cowl?” Vivian asked.
He doesn’t know, but for the sake of his wife he said to her: “Soon…”
But Vivian knew that wasn’t the case.
~ A Couple of Years Later ~
Some laughed but others, especially the girls, found it sweet to find an older brother carrying his sister on his shoulders while he was moving his things to his dorm. Valerie Pryor-Wayne held on to Damian’s head and pointed him to the direction of his dorm. Arriving at the room, Damian told her to get her head down as they entered the ample space.
“This is yours?” Valerie asked him.
“No, I have to share with another student,” said Damian. He put down his bags and lifted Valerie off his shoulders to settle on the bed. “Look here, Val,” he beckoned her to the window where his desk was. “See that?” He pointed to the building across. “That’s Mom’s building. That’s where she works.”
“You’re so close to her!” Valerie gasped.
“Uh-huh. So when you visit her, we could see each other… if I don’t have class.”
Valerie turned to her brother and said, “Promise to call?”
“Every night.”
Valerie pouted. “I’ll miss you, Damian.”
Damian smiled. “I’ll miss you too, Valerie.” Leaning forward, he rest his forehead on hers and smiled. “Remember what I taught you?”
“Which one?”
“About defending yourself. What do you do if a boy is bullying you?”
“Kick his balls.”
“And if it’s a girl?”
“Kick the balls,” she grinned.
“Aw, so cute!” Dick said as he came with a box of Damian’s things, following him were Vivian and Bruce with the rest of his boxes. “Come on, let me get a picture!”
“Okay, let’s not cause a scene,” Vivian laughed. “This is everything, so I guess we’ll leave you unpack. I know how embarrassing it is to have your entire family over.”
“I don’t mind,” said Damian, taking the bag from her.
“But we’ll be sure to be out of your hair and let you enjoy the campus tour,” said Bruce. “This is a huge step for you.”
“Before you all go,” Damian wrapped his mother in an embrace. “Thank you, Mom.”
Smiling, Vivian held him tight and brushed his hair. “You never have to thank me for anything, Sweetheart. I’ll always be here for you.”
“I know.”
“Study well, so the next time a psychotic killer takes my heart hostage, you’ll be the one to put it back,” Vivian joked.
“Not funny, Mom.”
“Too soon? It’s been a year now, I think.”
“It’ll never be too soon,” said Bruce.
“Dami!” Valerie tugged his pants and held out her arms to him. Damian picks up Valerie and lets her hug him again. Damian hugged his sister tight and whispered to her a phrase in Arabic. She was still learning the language so he wasn’t sure if she’ll understand it now: “I love you, my dear little sister.”
“I love you,” Valerie whispered in clumsy Arabic.
Damian smiled and kissed her cheek. “I’ll see when I visit.”
Taking Valerie from him, Bruce said his goodbye to his son and led his daughter and wife out of the dorm, letting Damian have a bit of air. Alone in his dorm, Dick reached into his jacket and handed something to Damian.
“A flashlight?” Damian asked him.
“Something to contact us when you find yourself in trouble and can’t kick ass because of the oath you’re going to take, or when you’re just homesick,” Dick smirked. “See you around, Damian!”
He left before Damian could ask what it was really. Sighing, Damian threw the thing to the box and started unpacking.
Later that night, as he laid in bed, Damian stared at the ceiling. Turning to his bedside table, he saw the photo of his family, of Raven, and then the flashlight. He decided to keep it there for easy access when a blackout happens.
When you get homesick, was what Dick said. What did he mean?
Curious, Damian took the light, face it at the ceiling, and turned the thing on.
Illuminating a yellowish light, Damian saw the shadow of the Bat-symbol on his wall.
A smile crept to his lips as he looked at the symbol and remembered the time he spent when he was part of that symbol. The friends and family he had when he was under that symbol. When he was a part of it. The Bat-symbol wasn’t just Batman anymore, not for the longest time now, it's the entire Bat-family. And that was what that symbol meant to him. Family.
And they will always be there for him, even when he’s no longer wearing the mask and cape.
Turning it off, Damian took his phone and messaged Dick: Grayson, you idiot. After a while, Dick replied: We’ll always be here for you, kid. Always.
The Loop [Caution: Sharp Objects]
Batmom x Batfamily
Prompt: It was all a nightmare...simply a nightmare right? Right?
TW: DARK THEMES, NEEDLES AND DEATH
Masterlist Part 1
(GIF not mine)
You uncomfortably made breakfast as Cassandra stared holes into your head. Every Time you moved too quickly, she would flinch then reach out for you. As if she were trying to protect you from something. While you enjoyed spending time with the people you considered your children, this was making you weary.
You were still trying to figure out what happened earlier that morning. Never in your life were you greeted like that. Every single face that you saw had the same look of pure horror on it. It was like you had died right in front of them or something.
"She's just cooking...cooking breakfast." Barbara said as she watched you from the security cameras in the kitchen. Well it wasn't just her watching. "Every movement, and order she's cooking in was exactly the same." Barbara leaned closer to the camera, she wasn't going to miss any details. Anything that you do differently, she will document.
"A hallucigen?" Tim suggested grimacing when he felt the needle push into his vein. Alfred hummed in thought as he collected another blood sample to test, "We were all at the fight with the League, it's possible they used some invisible drug. Maybe us waking up was the drug leaving our system?" Tim asked as Alfred pulled the needle from his arm. After getting it bandaged, he stood up so Duke could get his blood tested next.
"That is likely, we should have done urine samples instead." Bruce mumbled as he analyzed their blood for any signs of drugs or anything that didn't belong.
"Bruce, all the blood is coming up clean. If we were drugged, I doubt something that strong would wash out that quickly. I mean come on, we were all there. We felt her dead body, I felt her blood soak into my pants. There was no way it was fake. It was too real." Dick snapped and ran his hand through his hair, "I felt her body get cold. How is any of this even happening?" He asked then walked away while weaving his fingers through his hair. Stephanie followed after him to try and console him.
{}{}{}}{}}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
Okay, you were a little offended. You've just finished your famous breakfast, and no one is anywhere to be seen. Well except Cass, who was still watching you while she ate. After a few minutes of the silence, you stood up and stormed to the batcave.
The team was hard at work trying to figure out what happened when you made your way into the dark and gloomy place. "I made a delicious breakfast, and no one has come up to enjoy it. What possibly is so important that you couldn't wait?" You asked while crossing you arms.
They nearly jumped out of their skin when they heard your voice. They were so focused on finding a solution, that they didn't hear you coming down the steps.
Your eyes drifted from your family to the giant computer screen where you saw the results of their drug tests, "What is going on?" You asked then grabbing the nearest person who happened to be Damian. You turned his arm around to see the gauze and bandage wrapped around his arm.
"After the fight with the League, we wanted to make sure we were under the effects of anything dangerous. A simple precaution." Bruce said quickly as he made his way over to you. He rested his hands on your waist, but you noticed the slight hesitation as he did. "Now, let's go eat your breakfast." He said then started leading you out of the batcave, which only led you to ask more questions.
The surprise party was quickly canceled. Even if it was a dream, they didn't want to relive an ounce of those memories. Instead, they opted to take you shopping to your favorite places. Each store, they took turns buying you whatever you wanted. To you, it looked like a simple family outing, but to others, it looked like you were walking around with bodyguards.
Damian even went as far as threatening someone who glanced at you for too long.
After several stores, it was time to get a snack. Everyone managed to cram themselves into the outside patio of an ice cream shop. Bruce felt at ease being that they were in the safer part of the city. You ate your ice cream while chatting away happily. Everyone began to relax, and finally started to feel as if this was just a bad dream.
{}{}{}}{}}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
Now fully relaxed, your family abandoned the protection formation. You were pushing Barbara and chatting with Jason casually. Though you didn't miss the sketchy person that had been following you. Your constant glances behind you didn't go unnoticed by Jason who alerted the rest of the family.
As soon as the stalker realized he'd been discovered, he lunged for you. Jason quickly intervened, but this man was clearly skilled. It wasn't long before your entire family was fighting to subdue this man. They had to do so as best they could without raising any suspicion as to who their alter egos were. After their success, they proceeded to question him. He could be linked to their dream...if it was real.
Though they would never think that this man could have a partner. He did. You let out a strangled scream when someone grabbed you from behind and a knife was plunged into your chest. The knife left your body, only to be plunged in again and again. Both men ran in opposite directions after the deed was done. This time, Damian was the one who caught you instead of your body hitting the ground.
The young boy watched as you coughed up your blood, and looked at you bleeding body in shock. You then looked up at Damian and your eyes went cold. "Ummi?" He called out while pressing his small hands against your wounds, as if that would help. How could this have happened? What the hell was going on?
Like the night at the party, everyone stood in shock. It was up to one of the Gotham citizens to call the police.
{}{}{}}{}}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
Police cars, and news vans crowded the area as the family found themselves reliving the horrible night over again. Though no one was holding your body this time. A bloody white sheet covered it. Jason was currently handcuffed and in the back of a police car after he took his anger out on another one.
Gordon knelt by his daughter's side in an attempt to get her to speak, but she was quiet. All eyes were on your corpse once again. What did they do wrong? Was someone out to kill you? First a bullet through the head, then being stabbed in the middle of the street? It didn't make sense.
Dick sat on the ground with his head in his hands when he felt the urge to look up. Across the street where the massive crowd was, he saw a dark figure standing there. It seemed like no one could see it, but him, "Guys?" He called out as he stood up. Everyone looked at him, then followed his pointed finger. Like Dick, they saw the same dark figure.
They watched as it cocked its head to the side then held up an all too familiar music box. Slowly, it opened and the crank started to spin. Bruce started running across the street to try and stop this figure, but his body collapsed to the ground. Gordon caught his daughter when she fell into his arms. She was fast asleep.
Dick held himself up against the wall while trying to memorize every detail of this figure. Whatever it was, he was going to stop it.
{}{}{}}{}}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
Damian woke up with cold sweat on his body. He wasted no time in getting out of bed to get to his parent's bedroom. He was wearing the same pj's as last time. He threw the door open, and saw that Bruce had just woken up.
Ignoring his father, he went right to the bathroom where you were rubbing some lotion onto your hands. "Damian, what's-" You were cut off when Damian collided with you. His arms were nearly crushing you, "Ummi." He whimpered out like he did when he was having a nightmare. You rested one hand on his head, and the other was on his back.
"It's alright little bird, I'm right here. Everything is okay."
{}{}{}}{}}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
Stages of Grief ~Batkids Imagine~
Inspired by this comment from @martaellyimnotabot left on my AU If Bruce Cheated on Batmom:
I believe that the bat kids would be REALLY mad with Bruce, like "HOW COULD YOU CHEAT ON MOM???" Would be nice to see the bat kids reaction on it.
Summary: The kids go through the stages of grief when you leave Bruce and disappear without saying anything to anyone.
Author's Note: This is a part two and not canon to my Batmom series!
Part One
They were in shock at first on how you disappeared. They first checked your hometown but you were smart to not go there when you left the mansion. They checked the safe houses but found nothing. You had really done your research in disappearing away from the family. Especially from Bruce.
The kids sadly began to go through the stages of grief after a couple days of you gone.
First was stage number one. Denial.
“Mom wouldn’t just leave us,” Tim said to everyone as they were together. They had tried to find you again but no avail.
“You’re right. Maybe she’s just on some kind of vacation to get away,” Dick suggested.
“Unless someone kidnapped her,” Jason said, looking at the negative side of life.
“I can ensure you all that your mother has not been kidnapped,” Alfred said, interrupting their little meeting.
"Alfred? Where's mom then?" Cassandra asked him.
"I'm afraid I cannot disclose that with any of you. She is not ready to face you all just yet," Alfred said before leaving.
The second stage of grief came next. Anger.
“It’s all Bruce’s fault! How could he have cheated on mom?!” Jason yelled.
The batkids had just learned of why their mother left. Bruce had cheated on her with Selina who is pregnant with his baby. Dick was the one who found out when he spotted Selina with a bump.
“For once, can he just choose mom?” Jason asked angrily.
“Jason. We’ll find her. You need to calm down,” Tim said.
“Calm down?! She has always been there for us and he drove her away!” Jason yelled angrily.
“You don’t think we’re upset about this either?” Cassandra asked upset.
“You sure don’t act like it,” Jason jabbed.
“We’re all upset dumbass! You’re not the only one who looked up to her as a mom!”
“Fuck this! I’m going solo for a while,” Jason said as he walked off.
Bruce barely had any of the kids by his side during patrol. He was lucky to have one by him who followed orders.
After their anger had finally died down after two months, bargaining came next.
“Alfred. Please. We just need to know if she’s okay,” Stephanie asked him.
“I’m sorry. I was given strict orders from Miss Y/n to not say anything until she is ready.”
“Until she’s ready? Alfred please,” Tim begged.
“I’m sorry Master Tim. But what I can say is that she is safe and is doing well,” Alfred said.
There were few who quickly passed the anger, denial, and bargaining phase. The two being Dick and Damian who went into the depression phase quickly.
“I miss her,” Damian says to Dick.
He had never cried before. Damien was raised that crying was a sign of weakness. But you had told him otherwise and had told him that it’s okay to cry every once in a while. You told him that it was good to be sad sometimes.
“I know buddy.”
“Why would she leave us though? Did we do something wrong? I know father cheated on her but why punish us?” Damian asked with watery eyes.
“You heard what Alfred said. She just needs to be alone for a while. She’ll come back to us soon,” Dick comforted.
“I’m surprised you’re not as mad as Jason,” Damian said.
“I’ve know Bruce and mom longer. I’m just more sad that she can’t trust us to share where she is. But I know it’s because Bruce would’ve followed us over to her,” Dick tells him.
"Do you think she'll come back for us?" Damien asked.
"Soon. She'll come back to us soon."
Dick put an arm around Damien as he comforted him. Damien silently cried as he missed you. He wanted you to hug him and tell him that you were always going to be there for him no matter what.
After four months of you being gone, the kids had finally accepted the fact you were gone. That was until you had came back to the mansion and gave Bruce the papers for full custody over your unborn child and papers for divorce. Alfred gave your new address to the kids who rushed over afterwards.
“We missed you so much,” Cassandra tells you as she hugged you.
“I miss you all too. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you all. I needed to make sure I was in a secure and safe place before I could see you all again,” you explain.
“So we’re gonna have a new sibling soon?” Jason asked as he looked down at your bump.
“Yup. I found out after I left Bruce,” you tell them.
“I hope it’s a boy,” Damian said.
“I hope it’s a girl. We have enough boys here,” Cassandra said.
“Either way, I’m going to love my baby as much as I love you all,” you tell them.
"Please don't leave us like that again," Dick says as he hugged you as well.
"I'm sorry again. But I promise to tell you all everything that you need to know from now on," you tell them.
"That's all we ask. We love you mom and we don't want to lose you," Tim says.
"I'm sorry for worrying you kids. But now, you can visit me whenever you want," you tell them with a small smile.
"I can get a place close to here for you ma," Jason said.
"Whatever makes you comfortable. Hardly any crime here and everyone has been nice," you assure to them.
"It's a thirty minute drive from Gotham so I'll move somewhere in between so if you ever need us, we'll help you," Jason tells you.
"Thank you sweetie. I appreciate that," you say to him.
"What do you have planned now?"
"Well Bruce offered to give me alimony so I don't have to work. But I'm thinking of doing something to keep me busy," you tell the kids.
"Well if you need us at any point, call us and we'll drop everything for you," Tim says.
"Thank you," you say, smiling at them again.
Batmama imagines
Just a small thought that the way I think batmama would discipline her kids would be just a glare (the infamous "Batmom Glare" by Ellana-Ravenwood) and the pinch ear trick (The one where Queen Elinor did in "Brave").
The glare is where she still has her patience and control on her feelings but when enough is enough she's pulling your ear, and no she won't pull it till it hurt, she won't pinch it till it bleed or turn red.
She will hold your ear to anchor you so you can't get away or tune her out when she sermons you, the weight of her words, her voice sounding angry yet so concerned for you will pull her child heartstrings.
And the way she let go and rub it gently and kiss your cheek while saying sorry, an actual apology because she knows that she has the reason to be angry but she shouldn't have done that.
She hates pulling that trick but having a bunch of adopted children that was trained by Batman himself she would rather have them hate her then not letting them realize that their life and safety is important as well when the do some dumb shit.
batmom reboot is everything, so glad it got resurrected
It was the extent of Bruce's kindness that you weren't in a prison infirmary and were instead under guard at the JLA.
You HAD saved Dick's life. And that was something.
You could have left him at their mercy and gotten out with no one the wiser. No cameras had picked you up and you managed to avoid ANY sort of detection. Like you'd mapped everything out before hand. Creating a bottleneck- a trail to force your targets where you wanted them.
What you hadn't planned on was a hyperactive 9-year-old. When things had gone tits up you'd thrown your well-laid plan aside and saved him.
Exposing yourself to give him time to get well out of the way.
And the bodies had it the floor after that. Bodies, by the way that had horrible records. Except for yours.
Legally, you didn't exist. A living ghost. No birth records, dental records, medical records, all there was was- a cold trail. And speculation online.
He paced in front of the observation window. You didn't give a name. Hadn't said a word. The only thing you'd done as pull a card. A business card from a silver case placed on your bedside table and presented it to a scowling Batman.
On it, was printed what appeared to be a phone number.
"What are you going to do?" Diana asked folding her arms. "Are we going to-"
"I don't know yet. It could be a trap."
"Not likely," Diana said. "I took the case while you were on a phone call. 5 cards. All Identical. Superman said that it's just pricey card stock and ink."
"Hn."
"Does she talk?"
"She told Robin to run," Bruce said, remembering the look you'd given him. Scolding while you were bleeding out. You were a puzzle. And Puzzles were dangerous.
Batmom #3
Gotham city is a horrible place, teeming with death and corruption to create a melting pot of horrors her citizens could not avoid. It was here, in this cesspool of dread that your life took a turn for the worst.
A city that had taken everything from her and offered nothing in return. A futile city council let her life fall in the hands of the streets, reducing her to a mere rat in an alleyway scavenging for a meal and warmth. Her fellow citizens ignored her pleas for food, a job, or anyway to clean herself up to be hired for one. A corrupt police department let her disappear, just another missing person’s poster to add to the stack that grew day by day. Gotham took everything from her, how could she ever attempt to love and protect a city that had thrown her down the gutter with no regard as to where she washed up?
Y/N owed her newfound health and sanity to the Justice League but she did not believe she was suitable for offering her help in protecting Earth, let alone Gotham. She had done too much harm, turned into one of the monsters she once feared and terrorized the city herself. How could anyone trust her with human life again, knowing she had been responsible for tormenting such a beautiful thing?
After the night Batman took her into custody her health took a turn for the worst, without the drugs Crane was pumping into her to keep her complacent she soon began to go through withdrawals. Her inability to trust anyone made treatment difficult and she eventually had to be sedated for her body to start healing. While the physical wounds were healing Black Canary feared for her mental state more than anything. They knew Jonathan Crane’s “studies”, Dinah preferred the term torture, focused primarily on fear and obviously something had worked. Just how much damage had been done for your meta-gene to activate?
Diana Prince’s face was the first you saw after waking from months of being in a medically induced coma. The League thought maybe seeing a woman first would induce less stress, it was a plus Diana was virtually indestructible. Diana hadn't bothered with the name Wonder Woman when introducing herself. She knew the woman before her already knew who that, the heroine, was. But she deserved trust in order to give it and her identity was a step. They already knew who the young woman was, it wasn't fair for her to be shrouded by more mysteries and half truths.
-----Past-----
A door opening brought Y/N's attention off the scuff on the wall she had been staring at since she woke. She made no movements and appeared serene as the noise registered in her ears. One could almost believe she was a normal person recovering from an injury, until you noticed the inhibitor collar ornamenting her neck like a choker she would've once thought fashionable when she had possession of her own mind. Her eyes would tell you anything you needed to know about her true state, the saying they were like windows to the soul rang true. Trapped inside the padded cell that was her consciousness she screamed and ran into the walls, searching for any way out of the prison she had been trapped in for months. While her body slumbered and healed peacefully her mind was a living nightmare she had been trapped in for months or maybe even years. She had no clue how long she had been held captive by her own self, her very own thoughts and past actions binding her. It was like a darker, more sinister version of herself lived within her. And with only herself to turn to she appeared, the bete noire, you knew she was Crane's creation. This couldn't have always been you, this thing that weaponized fear like it had been melded into a weapon of her own design. She used your fears against you, when you once thought you were invincible your very own mind was turning you into the same victims your hands had marred. The woman's strong voice brought you out of your torment.
"I know you must be confused, this is most likely the first time you've been completely lucid in years. My colleagues and I want to assist you, we know you've been given abilities you're unable to control. We can help you. I can help you, I want to help you. I know you know who Wonder Woman is but that isn't me, not really. My name is Princess Diana of Themyscira, but here I call myself Diana Prince." She sat next to your bed, unsure if she should touch you but decided with the collar there wasn't much you could do to hurt her. Grabbing your hand that remained strapped down by your side she spoke once more. "I can't promise you that you won't have to atone for your wrongs but I can promise that you and I will work together to right them. We will take back what is yours, and if you decide along the way to fight for more than yourself I will be here to guide you through that as well." A woman who hid behind nothing and no one who helped any thing and everyone, in the few words she had spoken to Y/N she had turned the tides in her mind even if it was only a little. Slowly you spoke, your words gravelly and harsh as the vibration of your vocal cords caused your throat discomfort. "I don't think anyone could ever look at me as a hero, not after what we - I - have done." Diana squeezed your hand as she replied, "We can’t help the way we’re born. We can’t help what we are, only what life we choose to make for ourselves." You could only manage a nod, still too exhausted to try and make sense of your situation. You knew you weren't with Crane and his goons anymore. This was a leg up from any situation you had been in before, with that you allowed yourself to sleep.
-----End Flashback-----
Diana is your best friend, she will always be your friend. The League had given you a home when you hadn't had one in years. They gave you safety and protection. The least you could do was offer it to the world in return. After a year of recovery you would be taking another step in the right direction. At least you hoped it was the right direction for you, it was the only way you could even begin to make up for the damage you had caused. Today would be your first mission as a hero, today your story wasn't being rewritten but given a sequel. You only hoped you could be a hero the League was proud of.
AN: Absolutely shit, i know. i be trying tho.
