Bathtub Repair in Dubai: A Complete Guide to Restoring Your Tub
Tumblr media
Bathtubs are an essential fixture in any bathroom, offering a place to relax and unwind. However, over time, bathtubs can develop issues such as cracks, chips, stains, and leaks, which can diminish their functionality and aesthetic appeal. In a bustling city like Dubai, where modern living standards are high, maintaining a pristine bathtub is important. This guide aims to provide you with all the information you need about bathtub repair in Dubai, from identifying common problems to finding the best repair services.
Understanding the Importance of Bathtub Repair
Regular maintenance and timely repair of your bathtub can save you from costly replacements and extensive water damage. A well-maintained bathtub not only enhances the look of your bathroom but also ensures a hygienic environment. Ignoring minor issues can lead to more significant problems, making repairs more complicated and expensive.
Common Bathtub Issues in Dubai Homes
Dubai's climate and water quality can contribute to various bathtub problems. Here are some of the most common issues homeowners face:
Cracks and Chips in Bathtubs
Cracks and chips can occur due to heavy objects being dropped, sudden impacts, or the natural aging of the material. These damages not only look unsightly but can also lead to water seepage and further deterioration.
Discoloration and Stains
Hard water, soap scum, and mold can cause discoloration and stubborn stains in bathtubs. These stains can be difficult to remove with regular cleaning and may require special treatments.
Leaks and Water Damage
Leaks can develop in bathtubs due to cracks, faulty seals, or plumbing issues. Water damage can lead to mold growth and structural problems, posing health risks and reducing the value of your home.
DIY Bathtub Repair Tips and Tricks
For minor issues, DIY repair can be a cost-effective solution. Here are some tips and tricks to help you tackle small bathtub repairs:
Tools and Materials Needed for Bathtub Repair
Epoxy or acrylic repair kits
Sandpaper
Putty knife
Cleaning agents
Protective gloves and eyewear
Step-by-Step Guide to Fixing Minor Cracks and Chips
Clean the Area: Thoroughly clean the damaged area with a suitable cleaning agent to remove any dirt and debris.
Sand the Surface: Use sandpaper to smooth the edges of the crack or chip.
Apply Repair Kit: Follow the instructions on the epoxy or acrylic repair kit to fill the crack or chip.
Smooth and Finish: Once the repair material has cured, sand it down to create a smooth surface and blend it with the rest of the bathtub.
How to Remove Stains from Your Bathtub
Identify the Stain: Determine the type of stain (e.g., rust, soap scum, mold) to choose the appropriate cleaning method.
Use Suitable Cleaners: Apply a commercial cleaner or a homemade solution (such as baking soda and vinegar) to the stained area.
Scrub and Rinse: Gently scrub the stain with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth, then rinse thoroughly with water.
When to Call a Professional for Bathtub Repair
While DIY repairs are suitable for minor issues, some problems require professional expertise. Here’s when you should consider calling a professional:
Signs You Need Professional Assistance
Large cracks or chips
Persistent leaks
Severe discoloration or stains
Structural damage
Plumbing issues
Choosing the Right Bathtub Repair Service in Dubai
Selecting a reputable repair service is crucial for effective and long-lasting results. Consider the following factors:
Experience and Expertise: Look for companies with a proven track record in bathtub repair.
Customer Reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials to gauge customer satisfaction.
Pricing and Warranty: Compare prices and ask about warranties or guarantees on their work.
Cost of Bathtub Repair in Dubai
The cost of bathtub repair in Dubai can vary based on the extent of damage and the type of repair needed. On average, minor repairs can range from AED 200 to AED 800, while more extensive repairs may cost upwards of AED 1,500. It's advisable to get quotes from multiple service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
Preventive Maintenance Tips for Your Bathtub
Preventive maintenance can extend the life of your bathtub and reduce the need for repairs. Here are some tips:
Regular Cleaning: Clean your bathtub regularly with non-abrasive cleaners to prevent stains and mold growth.
Address Minor Issues Promptly: Fix small cracks and chips as soon as they appear to prevent them from worsening.
Use a Bath Mat: Place a bath mat to protect the surface from heavy objects and reduce the risk of impact damage.
Check for Leaks: Periodically inspect your bathtub and plumbing for signs of leaks and address them promptly.

Whumptober Day 29 (Buddy Daddies)
Final Buddy Daddies fic for @whumptober More Rei angst today with some headcanons about his mother and why he sleeps in a bathtub.
~~~~~~~
Prompts Used: Scented Candles, Troubled Past Resurfacing, 'What happened to me?' Fandom: Buddy Baddies Character: Rei
Read on Ao3
~~~~~~~
Kazuki was an enigma to Rei. He didn't understand his insistence on keeping the apartment clean, or on making three meals a day (and forcing Rei to eat them). Making sure Rei showered, cutting his hair, and buying furniture to fill up the empty spaces. Well, maybe that made a little sense to Rei because it meant there were more things to hide behind in the event of an attack.
But perhaps it was because Kazuki was so normal. Rei had never been around people like that. He'd watched them on the outside living their lives. It was that curiosity that had led him to heading off to live on his own before he realized that he wasn't good at fitting in with normal people.
Even now, Kazuki was humming happily to himself as he came back to the apartment after shopping, calling to Rei while he sat on the couch playing games.
"Hey, I'm back! Grabbed some stuff for dinner."
Rei didn't reply. He had figured out that Kazuki would talk no matter if he did or not. He seemed to have a need to fill a space and it was, a lot of time, a welcome distraction to Rei.
He glanced over toward the kitchen where Kazuki was putting stuff away and saw him setting out a couple expensive looking candles on the counter.
"Got some candles today—thought they might make the place smell better."
"Why?" Rei had to ask.
"Dude, it reeks in here," Kazuki replied as he rummaged around for a lighter. "Trust me, you'll be able to tell the difference."
Rei turned back to his games, not wanting to bother trying to figure out another weird—or perhaps normal?—thing his roommate was doing.
That was until he caught the scent of the candles wafting through the house, sugary, warm and—
Gentle hands caring for a scraped knee.
A smile hovering over him, surrounded by long black hair.
"Stay here, don't move!"
A bathroom, inside the tub—broken glass all around.
"I'll always love you."
"Stay here and cover your ears."
Two men carrying something under a blood-stained sheet.
A sharp sting on his cheek, falling to the floor. "Soft like your mother."
"I'll always love you."
Rei gasped aloud, staggering to his feet, his hand coming to his head, dizzy from the sudden assault of—what, memories? Definitely memories, but from where?
"Rei? Hey, you good, man?"
He had to stop this. He grabbed his pistol and shot the candle, exploding the glass and wax into a hundred pieces and leaving a bullet hole in the wall behind it as Kazuki dove away with a shriek.
"Wh-what the hell man?" Kazuki demanded. "The landlord's gonna kill us for that!"
Rei didn't reply, he couldn't. He had to get out of here, away from the scent.
He hurried out of the apartment, stopping once he was out of the street, breathing in fresh air and effectively clearing his head.
What happened to me? he wondered, looking down at his shaky hand. That kind of thing wasn't supposed to happen to him. His father had made sure he was trained better than that.
SLAP—Soft like your mother
"Mother," Rei whispered.
He didn't remember his mother…he thought. But, that must have been….
"Rei!"
He startled as Kazuki jogged up to him, slowing down as he realized Rei wasn't going to go anywhere.
"Hey, man, I hope I didn't offend you or anything," he said. "I just thought the candles would be nice. Are you allergic or something?"
Rei shook his head.
"Then why the hell did you shoot it, man—those are expensive, you know!"
"I don't know," Rei finally replied, hands clenching. "Can you shut up?!"
Kazuki looked like he had slapped him and Rei might as well have. He'd never addressed the other man like that before, barely paid him outward heed.
"Rei, are you all right?"
"Leave me alone," Rei replied as he pushed past the other man and headed back to the apartment, going directly to his room. He needed to clear his head. He sank onto the bed, trying to take deep breaths to steady himself.
The same images flashed through his mind: Soft hands, long black hair, warm sweet scent of sugar, bathtub, broken, shouting, broken glass…
Rei didn't realize he had been clenching his hands so hard until he looked down to see his nails had made red crescents in his palms. He let out a shuddering breath and loosened his hands, still finding dangerous tremors in them.
Why had this affected him so much? Why had he allowed it to? He couldn't understand why those memories he didn't even know he'd had just showed up all of a sudden, uninvited, just because he had smelled a damn candle.
He stretched out on the bed, lowering one arm over his eyes as he tried to clear his mind. But everything just felt like it was such a mess and he didn't know what he was going to do.
XXX
Rei slunk down the stairs later that evening when he heard Kazuki banging around in the kitchen. It wasn't a familiar feeling to him, but he felt somewhat awkward, almost…well, a little bad about yelling at Kazuki earlier. While it technically was his fault for buying the candle, he couldn't know what had happened in Rei's head because of it.
Rei took a seat at the counter, hunched slightly. He could see the candle that he hadn't shot sitting to one side and tried not to let it make him uncomfortable. He watched Kazuki cook for a few minutes. The man always seemed so sure of himself while he was in the kitchen, doing things Rei had never seen anyone do before. But then, he could barely make toast, so what did he know?
"You hungry?"
Kazuki's words startled him out of his strangely rambling mind. He shrugged.
Kazuki continued, moving on to crack eggs, tossing the shells over his shoulder into the sink.
One missed and spattered raw egg on the counter and Kazuki glanced back with a sheepish grin. "Aw, missed. Was sure I'd get it that time." He chuckled, then let out a sigh with a brief smile. "My wife always hated it when I would do that."
Rei watched him clean it up and toss the shells into the trash before going back to cooking.
"You know, the only reason I bought the candles is because they reminded me of my wife," Kazuki went on. "She always had a million of them around the house, I was afraid she'd light the place on fire." He smiled fondly. "
Rei furrowed his brow. Kazuki never talked about his wife. Rei knew she had died, that was all. He'd seen one picture of her before Kazuki had put it into a drawer, clearly stating that it was none of Rei's business. So it confused him that he was bringing her up now.
"That scent was her favorite," Kazuki added.
The memories flashed back through his mind again and he squeezed his eyes shut before another memory popped into his head.
"This one is my favorite, doesn't it smell good, Rei-chan?" Warm flame, lighting the dark room. A soft kiss on his forehead through a curtain of black hair. "Maybe it will help you sleep."
Something caught in his throat and before he knew it he said, "My mother's too."
It surprised him and apparently surprised Kazuki too because he paused briefly before resuming his work, pouring eggs into a pan.
Rei was still confused about why he had even spoken when Kazuki said, "Memories can hurt sometimes. I still get sad when I think of her. But, you know, I guess that's how you know someone had an impact on your life."
But what if you don't remember? Rei wondered.
XXX
Rei never usually slept well. He was too hyperaware of his surroundings to fall into more than a light sleep. Tonight was worse though, because on top of his usual trained anxiety, he could not stop the images flashing through his mind, a messy jumble that threatened to drive him mad.
Because he did vaguely remember his mother, and he knew that something bad had happened to her, so how the hell had he forgotten that? He wanted to remember, but he didn't know how…
Rei pushed himself up from the couch where he had been trying to sleep, and glanced to the corner of the kitchen counter where Kazuki had set the second candle.
Rei got up and padded over to grab it, staring at it warily. He hadn't liked the loss of control he'd felt earlier when it came to the memories, but…
He wanted to remember. Maybe if he could control the situation, it would help everything become clearer?
"Stay here, don't move"
The frantically whispered words echoed again and Rei suddenly started upstairs, slipping into the bathroom. The tub stood there like some kind of sanctuary, a promise of safety. Rei set the candle down on the side of it and pulled out his lighter.
Warm light emanated from the flame, and he eased himself down into the tub, sitting cross-legged with his hands clasped in front of him, head down. He closed his eyes as the sweet scent filtered in, setting off memories once more.
He took a deep breath and tried to stop the instant flow, plucking one out and trying to focus on it, breathing the scent in deeply:
"Can't sleep again?"
Rei lay curled under his blankets, shaking his head. He could hear the men in suits outside, slamming car doors and driving away. They scared him.
"Here, I have an idea."
His mother left the room for a moment before returning with a candle. She set it by his bedside and lit it silently. A comforting glow spread around the room, allowing Rei to breathe a little easier.
"This one is my favorite, doesn't it smell good, Rei-chan?" Her face was in shadows, but she leaned over the bed, silky black hair acting as a curtain for the world beyond as she bent to kiss his forehead. "Maybe it will help you sleep."
"But papa—"
"Your father doesn't need to know," his mother said softly, stroking his hair. "Everyone needs a little light in the dark. Now close your eyes, I'll stay with you until you fall asleep."
Rei blinked, inhaling sharply. He couldn't remember the last time he had thought of his mother with such clarity. He had completely forgotten being that young even. It seemed so long ago in more than just years.
He swallowed hard and tried to dig for the other memory, focusing on the bathtub.
A loud bang startled him awake, Rei had barely opened his eyes before his mother was scooping him out of bed, carrying him quickly out of the room, where the men in suits were rushing down the hall, guns in hand.
"Mama?"
"Shh, be quiet."
She threw open the bathroom door and placed Rei into the tub.
"Stay here, don't move," she said quickly, cupping his cheek. "Just stay here and cover your ears."
"What's happening?"
"Don't ask questions, darling," she pleaded. "Promise me you'll stay down and not come out until I come for you. You'll be safe here, I promise." She leaned in and kissed his forehead. "I'll always love you, Rei."
Then she was gone and Rei was torn on following her, but the loud bangs sounded out and he was too scared so he curled up as small as he could in the tub and slammed his hands over his ears.
He didn't know how long he waited. Noises crashed around him, shards of glass and plaster sprinkling down as things exploded in the room. But Rei stayed still, knowing his mother wouldn't lie. That as long as he did he would be okay.
He stayed that way a long time after the sounds stopped. Someone opened the door and Rei finally looked up, hoping it was Mama but it was just one of the men in suits.
"I found him," the man said speaking into a crackling radio. "He seems to be okay."
The man reached into the tub and picked Rei up, shoes crunching over the glass on the floor.
"Mama," Rei murmured.
The man didn't say anything, but Rei wriggled free as soon as they got out and started running as the man swore.
"Mama!" he shouted.
He ran until he hit his father, staggering back as the man made no move to help him, staring at the milling men in the entryway of the house. Two men were picking up stretchers covered in red-stained white sheets, carrying them out the front door.
Rei saw a curtain of dark hair spilling from under one of them and started forward.
"M-Mama!"
His father caught his shoulder tightly, hauling him back.
"She won't be coming back, boy. You'd best get used to that. It's time to grow up and begin learning the duties of the Suwa heir."
He left, leaving Rei standing there, alone.
Rei came out of the memory, hands shaking, breaths coming quick and sharp. He looked around, half expecting to see that destroyed bathroom from before, but it was just the same as it always was, with the addition of the candle.
He let out a long breath, slowly laying down in the tub to stare up at the ceiling, allowing the warm scent of the burning wax to lull him. When he closed his eyes he could almost feel the touch of a hand on his cheek, soft lips on his forehead.
"I'll always love you."
"Mama," he whispered. An odd feeling came over him, not necessarily sadness—it had been so long ago now. But he felt glad to have remembered. Perhaps Kazuki was right. Maybe memories were worth the hurt they caused.
He curled up in the bottom of the tub, feeling safe with the candle glow and closed his eyes. And for the first time in a long time, he was able to fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.
XXX
Kazuki got up to grab a drink of water, noticing that Rei's bedroom door was open. Not that he usually slept there anyway, but he was still feeling a little bad about the candle incident. He didn't know what the scent might have brought up, but he was sure it probably wasn't good considering Rei's reaction.
But his roommate wasn't on the couch either when Kazuki got downstairs, which was odd.
Frowning, Kazuki got his glass of water and returned upstairs.
That was when he saw a warm glow from under the bathroom door and caught the scent of brown sugar and vanilla.
"Rei?" he asked.
There was no reply, and, worried, Kazuki cautiously opened the door.
The first thing he saw was the candle sitting on the side of the tub, burning away with a warm glow.
Inside the tub was Rei, curled in the bottom, sleeping heavily, breathing even and slow. His face actually looked relaxed and Kazuki felt an almost brotherly affection toward the younger man at the sight.
He went to grab a blanket, draping it over the sleeping man, leaving the candle burning as he went to catch some sleep himself.

it requires more social energy from me for arin to call rather than just being here, and she's called 3 times in 4 days, and mom called today too, and I'm still working out the balance for how socially present I should be for matt, and I think I'm just kind of overwhelmed right now.
he asked me if I want to do anything for thursday and I was confused, it genuinely didn't occur to me that he might get The national holiday off. I was explaining a post about kanji and I miss learning languages. vocab was always my weak point anyway.
I think sometime this week I will try walking to a nearby card shop with a resume to ask if they want help organizing things. I'm basically done with my work on the apartment at least until the rotary auction, and I don't seem to like cross stitch all that much right now because tying threads on and off makes me fussy. I'd like to make arin's pin before we go visit her, and I'd like to start on socks at some point in the near future just to prevent a repeat of last year. I need to adjust the toe marks, they were a bit too pointy. I also need to make the grand spreadsheet and decide who's the highest priority for different/extra stuff. but everything's at a point where using up one day of energy per week on paid outside work should be doable. (although a day's worth of energy is probably only a half day in hours. depending on what I'm doing and where.)

The Key Benefits of Tub Refinishing
Cost Savings
One of the biggest draws of tub refinishing is just how much money it can save you compared to replacing your tub altogether.
Think about it - having a brand new tub installed is a major investment. You're paying for the cost of the new tub itself, plus the labor for removal of the old tub.
But with refinishing, you're keeping your existing tub and just giving it an affordable facelift. The costs are much lower since there's no need for demolition, repairs, or bringing in a whole new tub. Pretty neat, right?
Let's put some real numbers to it. Say your tub refinishing costs $450 and a new tub installation is $2,500. By choosing refinishing, you just saved yourself a whopping $2,050! With those kinds of savings, you could finally take that dream vacation or do some other home upgrades.
Time and Convenience
When it comes to home improvement projects, we all dread the hassle and disruption they can cause to our daily lives, am I right?
Well, that's where bathtub resurfacing Philly really shines! It's just so quick and convenient compared to replacing your entire tub.
Imagine having to rip out your old tub, repair any damaged tile or drywall, and then install a brand new one. That's a huge project that could easily take several days or even weeks to complete. Not exactly ideal when you've got a busy life and just want to be able to use your bathroom!
But with refinishing, the process is a total breeze. Most jobs can be completed in just one day by the professionals. One day! You could literally leave for work in the morning with an outdated tub and come home to what looks like a brand new one. It's like magic!
Aesthetic Appeal
Tub refinishing is also an amazing way to completely transform the look and feel of your bathroom. With so many color and finish options available, you can truly let your creativity shine.
I know what you might be thinking - "But my tub is just a boring old white one. How exciting could it possibly get?" Oh, you'd be surprised! Tub refinishers these days have a special talent for giving blah bathtubs a striking new aesthetic.
Refinishing also lets you play around with different finishes and textures too! You can go for an ultra-glossy look that's smooth as silk or opt for something more matte and modern. Some companies can even add delicate patterns or decorative designs for a true work of artistry.
Bottom Line
If your bathtub is looking a bit worse for wear, don't despair. Tub refinishing offers a convenient solution that can transform your tub.  With its many benefits, it's no wonder that tub refinishing is becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners.

6 Things To Know While Bathroom Tile Regrouting
When it comes to maintaining the aesthetics and hygiene of your bathroom, regrouting the tiles is a task that should not be overlooked. Over time, grout between tiles can deteriorate, leading to a shabby appearance and potential water damage. Here are some tips to help you tackle bathroom tile regrouting in Melbourne effectively:
Assess the Situation
Before diving into regrouting, carefully inspect the current condition of the grout. Identify areas with crumbling or discoloured grout and prioritise those for regrouting. This initial assessment will guide your focus and effort.
Gather the Right Tools
Having the right tools is crucial for a successful regrouting project. Acquire a grout saw, a rubber float, and high-quality grout matching your existing colour. Additionally, grab a bucket, sponge, and a pair of rubber gloves to make the process more manageable.
Tumblr media
Remove Old Grout
Use the grout saw to carefully remove the old and damaged grout. Take your time and work systematically to avoid damaging the surrounding tiles. A clean and thorough removal is key to achieving a durable and visually pleasing result.
Clean the Surface
Once the old grout is removed, thoroughly clean the tile surface. Remove any debris and dust, ensuring a smooth and even application of the new grout. Use a mild cleaner to eliminate any lingering residues. This same process goes for bathtub resurfacing in Melbourne as well.
Apply the New Grout
Prepare the new grout according to the manufacturer's instructions. Using a rubber float, apply the grout evenly, making sure it fills all the spaces between the tiles. Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge before it dries to achieve a clean finish.
Seal the Grout
To enhance durability and prevent future issues, consider applying a grout sealer. This extra step helps protect the grout from moisture and stains, extending the life of your regrouting efforts.
By following these tips, you can transform your bathroom tiles and revive the overall look of your space. Bathroom tile regrouting in Melbourne may seem like an expensive deal, but it's not & the results are well worth every penny!

A Customer's Perspective:
We used Anew Surface to refinish a bathtub that had been previously painted by a handyman. The company was responsive to my inquiries and the worker was prompt to arrive on scheduled date and time. The service was very professionally done, and I appreciated additional information that Ian shared with me as far as the curing/drying process and care of the finished tub. Honestly it looked like a brand-new bathtub. Ian cleaned up after his work and called me in an appropriate time frame that allowed for my return home prior to his leaving. We had a space saver secured to the wall beside the tub and I was told (then) that the small space in front of the tub that the space saver is near would not be 'reachable' to resurface using his equipment so the paint may not be an exact 'white' match to what is applied as new. Still, he made efforts to cover this space and you could not tell at all as everything looked uniform. (There had not been any damage to the front of the tub in that area anyway). I found the gentleman to be very friendly and courteous and it was a true pleasure to do business with this company. We had never had a tub resurfaced and I had made multiple calls and had many interviews with businesses in exploring all the different options and companies. I would not hesitate to employ this company again nor to recommend them to others. - Google Review - https://g.co/kgs/5qvRVuD

He has a nightmare where he rejected you
Characters: Levi and Satan (x gn!reader, separately)
Part 1 , Part 3 , Part 4 , Part 5
Main Masterlist
A/N: not very satisfied with this one, but I don't want to get stuck in writer's block forever. I will revisit this in the future to improve it, but, until then, I hope you enjoy it <3
.
Leviathan – He didn’t think he deserved you
Companionship from him was hard to earn; not due to pickiness, but rather fear.
Would you make fun of him when you discovered the things he liked? Would you call him a pathetic, sad excuse of a demon?
He wasn’t embarrassed about his passions, mind you; in fact, he was quite proud of them, but he knew an otaku like him wasn’t considered as attractive or interesting as others with more… normie preferences.
Take Asmo, who knew how to talk to people and profited from his appearance; or Beel, who knew how to keep his muscles; or Lucifer, whose presence was enough to call for everyone’s attention.
He couldn’t hold a candle to them, as much as the knowledge pained him, and he was sure you thought the same.
How else would you feel? You, a human suddenly lost in the Devildom with no way of surviving but proving your wit and your strength. You, who fought with tooth and nails to stand your ground and still acted with kindness towards him, paying attention to his rants, asking out of pure curiosity, keeping track of the passwords…
Falling for you came immediately after you became his best friend, but Levi couldn’t lie to himself.
There wasn’t a way in hell, heaven or earth where a possible reciprocation wasn’t fuelled by pity, no matter how much you tried to convince him otherwise.
He closed the door of his room again, keeping everyone out, hoping that if he couldn’t see your lovesick gaze anymore, then you’d find someone fitter and more deserving.
The thought pained him to no end, but really.
Levi couldn’t lie to himself.
His chest hurt, no wonder. The shape of his clothes was imprinted on his skin, sternum and ribs aching with each breath after hours of sleeping on the edge of the bathtub. He thought he’d also twisted his wrist for a moment, but the pain just came from the weight of his torso resting on top of it for who knows how long.
Levi slowly blinked as he started to wake up, a pool of drool drying next to where his head had previously been and his mouth completely dry in return, the taste of something stale and unsavoury covering his tongue.
There was a water bottle on one of the glass tables, his headphones and a half-full glass of soda, but his DDD was on the floor with his jacket. He saw a blanket there too and your scent reached him like a siren’s song.
Groaning at the rigidness of his muscles, quickly embarrassed once more of his unfit body, he pushed himself out of the bathtub and tried not to trip on the clutter around the room. Most things were his, obviously, but he also found some of your clothes and even a pair of shoes and your backpack, covered in custom pins he’d carefully designed just for you.
The image of his door closing and leaving you out of his life resurfaced in his brain. What else could it have been if not a nightmare? While he was perfectly aware you were way out of his league, Levi was also conscious about his sin and about how weak he was under its power. There was no way he would’ve survived seeing you with someone else, let alone after confessing your love to him.
Noticing your absence with a sudden wave of nausea, he wondered for a horrible second if he’d talked during his sleep and woken you up with nonsense and rejection, but there was no way you would’ve left him for that, right? You would’ve woken him up instead, offering words of comfort and reasoning.
Him knowing that fact was the main evidence of how ridiculous the nightmare was.
How could he ever forget dating you, if just for a few seconds after waking up in pure stupor? As though your mere presence in his life didn’t change him; could he ever fool himself into thinking he could go on without the chance of being with you? His dream self may have been idiotic enough to believe so, but he knew better.
Levi would never let you go.
.
Satan – He didn’t realise how deep he’d fallen
He wouldn’t describe himself as superficial.
Feeling wasn’t a foreign experience; hell, he was doomed to feel, but there was so much he could understand about emotions.
Why did there have to be so many layers?
Asmo fawned over himself, rejoicing in who he was, yet he couldn’t bring himself to show how deep his mind and heart could reach.
Diavolo, so prepared for political business, yet so unsure at matters of the heart, abandoned and lonely.
You, so obviously afraid of your new surroundings, yet unwilling to bend your knee and show weakness.
Himself, falling for you slowly without either of you realising. He cared for you with what he knew was fondness, respect and appreciation. After all, given everything you’d done for him and his family, there was no other way he could look at you.
You confessed to him one day out of the blue, hope in your eyes, and his heart skipped a bit; but what if that flutter wasn’t enough? What if he was reaching too far, anticipating a chapter that would never be written?
Over time, the warmth in his chest turned bitter and electric, not stimulating anymore, but painful.
Yet, he smiled at you.
How confusing.
What a stupid mistake he had made.
You weren’t with him when he opened his eyes, which only fuelled the anger his dream had caused. Frustration at the cycle, always returning to the comfort of his sin, and fear upon your absence.
The swaying towers of books covered the window and cast shadows where they weren’t supposed to be, taunting him with the presence of someone else just as he was coming to terms with the lack of your company. His stretched arm, searching for your touch, slowly returned to him and pulled him deeper under the covers.
He still felt the goodnight kiss you had given him hours ago lingering on his lips, but it wasn’t that what helped settle his uncontrolled mind.
No.
Satan didn’t need reflection to know how much his soul yearned for yours. Although intimidated by the intensity of it, he wasn’t afraid to show just how much he loved you. Also, he would be caught dead before rejecting an idea due to a lack of perspective. Exploring your relationship had been his favourite subject by far, after all.
He knew that, had his rejection been real, his dreams would’ve been filled with the never-ending hope in your eyes and his willingness for more instead.
What he had with you in what he knew was the undeniable reality, was what he would always want in any other.
He may not understand the strength of your love and all that came in between, but wasn’t that what made it all that exciting?
.

society of brilliance ft. veritas ratio
Tumblr media
in which you come home and soothe veritas and his insecurities in a shared bath—which consists of you making a society just for the two of you. luckily, it’s more than enough to ease his troubled mind
contains: gender neutral reader ; non sexual nudity ; shared baths ; slight references to veritas character story iii ; reverse comfort ; veritas is not taking his lack of invitation to genius society lightly :( ; i invite you all to join my nous hate club
Tumblr media
veritas doesn’t greet you when you come home. you’d be disappointed any other time, but the glow of light under the cracks through the bathroom door tells you precisely why he’s not there to greet you—you can’t help but be endeared.
so you pad into the bathroom, grinning softly as his head lifts from resting against the edge of the bathtub, eyes opening to glance over your figure.
they brighten a bit when they take in the view of you.
“no book?” you raise a brow, mildly shocked.
“is it hard to believe i’d like to relax without reading?” he closes his eyes again, relaxing once more as he listens to you shed your clothing.
“well, i suppose not,” you chuckle, “but you’re a bit…”
“go on,” he presses dryly, “finish your thought.”
“a bit uptight. i don’t know if you can relax without reading something or another.”
it’s cheeky, the way you bite your lip and suppress a grin, watching as he rolls his eyes (but he could never hope to hide the fondness in them, even if he tried). you reach over one the last of your clothes drop to the floor, hand cupping his cheek as he sighs and melts into your palm.
“well, i certainly won’t be relaxing now that your presence is here to disrupt my peace,” he quips, letting a smug grin of his own stretch over his cheeks as you huff.
“long day?” you murmur, tracing your thumb along his skin soothingly as he hums, pressing closer into your touch, “it must be if you couldn’t wait long enough to greet me.”
“my apologies darling,” he says quietly. you frown a little, tracing the darkening circles under his eyes as your thumb travels higher across his face. “i’m afraid my mind was a bit occupied.”
“oh veritas.”
it’s delicate, the way you say his name. fragile, like he’s one moment from sinking into the water from the weight of his mind, unable to resurface for a breath of air. veritas has been different since accepting the invitation from the ipc—a bit more defeated, perhaps. a lot more distracted.
you pull your hand away, much to his displeasure, waving it to gesture him forward in the tub as he looks at you with creases building in his forehead.
“but—”
“don’t argue for once, you difficult man,” you scold, “just do as i say.”
“how commanding,” comes his reply in a half-hearted scoff. he listens nonetheless, inching forward so you can sit yourself behind him, sinking into the warm water as you collect him in your arms and pull him to lean against your chest.
he relaxes instantly. more than he could before your arrival, like the presence of you makes breathing easier, more simple. in and out, inhale and exhale. his chest rises and falls under your hand, slow circles smoothing over the firm muscle as his head falls back against your shoulder.
veritas doesn’t let you hold him often—he prefers the weight of you in his arms, but sometimes it’s nice when you take on his weight, too. when his mind is heavy and loaded with the endless thoughts of his. and you like it too, the feeling of him pressing into you, the feeling of him settled into your hold as you keep him afloat.
you break the silence first, pressing a kiss into his head as you whisper, “care to enlighten me what’s going on in that head of yours?”
“are you sure you can handle it? i have a rather advanced thought process,” he teases.
“i’d say your mind is regressed,” you snort, squeezing the rubber duck floating in the water a small distance away.
you can practically see his pout even if it’s not in your line of sight as he clicks his teeth and says in an offended tone, “being intelligent doesn’t mean i have to deny myself of a few simple joys.”
“aren’t i the only joy you need?” you bat your lashes, kissing the back of his neck as he chuckles.
“i suppose you are sufficient enough, yes.”
“just sufficient?” you gasp, biting his shoulder playfully as he shakes against you with soft laughter. “if you don’t love me, just say that.”
“there you go again,” he hums in amusement, shaking his head as he tilts his head and eyes you with an endeared glint in his eyes, “always so theatric over the most trivial of causes.”
“someone has to keep things interesting. your idea of fun is picking apart a student’s thesis.”
“i enable them to grow,” he corrects, thoroughly unimpressed as he purses his lips and gives you a dry look. “it’s a favor, really.”
“i don’t know what to do with you. too smart for your own good.”
he sighs, slumping against your figure as he quietly mumbles, “perhaps not smart enough.”
you frown, the edges of your mouth curling in an unhappy twist downwards as you process his words. veritas is undoubtedly brilliant—you’d never thought he’d question the fact. of course, he’s tried time and time again to catch the gaze of nous, and of course, you’ve always known there’s a lingering air of self deprecation at his lack of success.
but you never thought him to doubt himself—not of his capabilities, not of his brilliance. his brilliance is the most beautiful thing about him, you think. he’s so quick to understand things—like how to figure you out like it’s easy and simple. how to love you in ways you didn’t even know you want to be loved. how to read you before you understand your own mind.
he’s so bright, so willing to share his light so you can glow too, unwilling to see you as a mere dimness beside him.
you tighten your arms around him, nuzzling your nose into his cheek as you press sweet, feathery kisses to his skin.
“if you consider yourself not smart enough, i fear for what you think of my intelligence.”
“i think you’re brilliant,” he says instantly, “there’s no doubt.”
“then why doubt yourself?”
he’s silent. you know the answer, even if he doesn’t want to say it. because if not smart enough to be acknowledged by the aeon he’s dedicated his aspirations to, the aeon that stands to represent the very purpose of his existence, the aeon that signifies the embodiment of wisdom itself—how can he consider himself enough?
how can you consider him enough? he wants to ask, but the words never form on his tongue, caught in his throat in a lump he can’t even swallow down. it’s stuck, persistently lodged and silencing him as he lays limply in your arms.
“oh, veritas,” you say with so much gentleness, he sighs shakily at the sound of his name from your tongue. so sweet, so pleasant—like it’s dipped his honey from the comb. “you are far too capable for it to be a cause for question.”
“am i?” he chuckles dryly, lips tugging ruefully into a painful smile, “perhaps i’d have reached my goals then, wouldn’t i?”
“perhaps it’s not your intelligence that separates you from the genius society,” you murmur thoughtfully, combing wet fingers through his hair, scratching tenderly at his scalp as he shivers at your touch.
“then, pray tell, what would it be, darling?” he asks, indulging you.
“your compassion, maybe. you’re of the few geniuses that don’t forget what it means to be human. i don’t think a machine declared as the face of intelligence has the capacity to understand that.”
“you shouldn’t speak of the divine like that,” he snorts.
“nobody is as divine as me,” you reply with a giggle, earning a tender squeeze at your thigh as he smiles at you with a roll of his eyes.
“is that so?”
“you don’t agree?”
he turns, kissing the pout off of your lips as he whispers, “oh, i do. i certainly do—you’re of the most divinest of beings in all of the cosmos. a truly magnificent…piece of work.”
“i’ll ignore that last part just for today,” you say pointedly. you peck his lips again, and again, and when he settles deeper into your chest, relaxing against your body, you tighten your hold around him. “but i hereby declare you an honorary member of the society of brilliance—”
he cuts you off with a short. you whine, slapping his arm in protest as he stifles his laughs.
“and just how many members are in this society?”
“currently two,” you glare, “but it’s at risk of becoming one if you mock it any further. it’s a very serious organization.”
“sorry, sorry. it won’t happen again,” he poorly fights back a grin. (and he could never hope to successfully hide a smile around your presence, he’s sure such a feat is impossible. you write joy on his features as easy as pen on paper).
“it better not. this society is far more sophisticated than that child’s play of an organization…society for geniuses, was it?”
“genius society,” he correct, playing along.
“oh yes,” you nod, pretending to snap in recognition, “that’s the one. such an undignified group of individuals. a shame—they had potential. it’s a good thing we’re not like them.”
“a relief indeed,” he smiles.
it’s so raw, so real, so pure, he can’t help but twist in your arms and press his lips to you, hoping to physically share the joy of you evident in the curl of his mouth. the dimple in his cheek. the crinkles of his eyes.
you’ve written yourself into every part of him, so seamlessly intwined with his body and mind, it’s difficult to doubt himself. because to doubt himself is to doubt you, and veritas could never hope to doubt you. not when you’re so divine, so bright and beautiful, so precious.
a wonder to society.
he’s lucky to be acknowledged by such brilliance.
“you’re the most capable man i know,” you whisper against his lips. he hums in satisfaction as you peck them gently before adding, “i have very high standards, you know.”
“i’m relieved i’ve met them. my greatest achievement to date.”
“i’m glad you’re wise enough to realize as such.”
“is my spot in your exclusive society secured then?”
“hmm. i’ll think about it—you’re still on thin ice.”
Tumblr media

Warnings: Yandere, Previously established (forced) relationship, Invasion of privacy, Nudity, Threats, Implied stalking, Nonconsensual touching, Reader eats shit in the tub (as in they fall).
Additional Notes: Reader is a foreigner in Japan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You decided to leave the door open this time.
There wouldn’t be much point in shutting it, you had decided. The door to the bathroom was there for privacy, and while this wasn’t your home, you were alone so shutting it would’ve felt redundant.
The scent of eucalyptus filled the air as you sat on the edge of the tub and poured a generous amount of foaming bath soap into the water as it filled.
The house you were in was more Western-styled than the rest of the neighborhood. Part of you found it funny since, if someone were going to move to another country, you’d think they’d embrace the cultural differences that came with it - including home design.
That being said it did make a few things easier for yourself since you were also a foreigner, however you hardly ever complained when it came to your line of work.
Your job was a simple one. While the residents were away on vacation, you’d stay and take care of their home as well as whatever plants or animals that occupied it.
The owners got peace of mind while they were away and you got both a free place to live and paid to do almost nothing. Wins all around, in your opinion.
The cat you were looking after sat just outside the entrance to the bathroom, the tip of its tail twitching back and forth as it watched the water level in the tub rise.
“Don’t worry, Ashy, this isn’t for you.” You said as you put the cap back on the soap bottle and tested the temperature of the water with your right hand.
Ashes, the sleek Russian Blue feline narrowed her eyes in apparent scrutiny and her tail thumped against the carpet a little harder. The sight made you chuckle lightly.
“It isn’t, I promise.” The assurance in your tone was the same one would use when talking to a toddler. “See?”
You stood from the tub and began undressing, making quick work of your shirt and pants. Your amusement only grew when Ashes immediately got up and walked away, presumably to find a place to lay down that wasn’t near temporary bodies of water.
Once the water was about six inches from the top you shut it off and removed the rest of your clothing. The sigh that left you was low when you stepped in and settled amongst the bubbles, the hot water enveloping you in a gentle embrace that made your eyes close and your head rest against the edge of the tub.
The bathtub was nice - nicer than anything you had ever previously owned. It was long enough that you could properly stretch your legs out while being deep enough that the water came just above chest level. The only thing that could have possibly made it better was if it came with jets, but you certainly weren’t complaining with how things were.
Taking in a deep breath, you sank under the water and resurfaced a second later, letting out a long exhale while wiping the water away from your eyes.
It felt good. Being surrounded by warmth and not having to think about anything you had to do.
“Well, this is an interesting sight.”
The unexpected voice caused you to startle - jerking up straight in the tub while your head snapped towards the doorway.
It was him again. The stitches lining his skin were unmistakable, as was the mirth in his bi-coloured eyes while he leaned against the frame where Ashes had been only a few minutes ago.
Indignation quickly came up to replace the majority of the embarrassment, and you scooped up the bubbles around you to cover your chest.
“Get out.”
“Why? I’d say the open door was more than enough of an invitation.”
Mahito’s nonchalance was infuriating and your knees drew up as he approached the tub.
“Well, it wasn’t.”
Mahito giggled, both at your answer and your vain attempt at more modesty. He stopped about three feet away from the tub to lean against the sink and he shrugged “Could’ve fooled me.”
“What are you doing here?” Your tone was sharp, no-nonsense, although most of its bite was reduced due to your current state.
“What am I doing here?” Mahito parroted back, idly going through the items on the bathroom counter - picking through your perfumes and skin care products. “I’m talking to you, aren’t I?”
“That’s not what I meant.” You snapped, irritation further clouding any mortification you felt. “You couldn’t find someone else’s house to break into?”
“Now that’s just it.” Mahito looked back towards you, a shit-eating smile on his face. “This isn’t your house.”
Fury and annoyance burned in your cheeks and Mahito giggled.
“You look like an angry, wet cat.” He said, toying with a bottle of your perfume. It was one of your favourites, cherry scented. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”
“I’d be lying if I said yes.”
“Awwee.” Mahito cooed with faux, overexaggerated hurt. “That isn’t very nice.”
“How did you even find me?” You asked, deciding to break off from the line of dialogue that was clearly leading nowhere. “The last place I was in was on the other side of the city.”
“Yes, it was.” Mahito sighed, like the reminder itself was exhausting and he pouted. Like an actual child. “Rather upsetting of you to not tell me you were moving around.”
Your teeth dug into the flesh of your cheek. “That doesn’t answer my question.”
“Your questions are boring.” He replied, “In any case I’m glad I’ve found you again, you’re definitely a sight for sore eyes.”
Something curled in your gut at his words. It felt heavy, like sludge, and your lips pulled back into a sneer. “Horrendous.”
Mahito chuckled once more at your comment, clearly unbothered. “Now, now, is that how you treat a guest?” He set your perfume back on the counter and took a step forward to crouch next to the tub.
Your arm came over to cover your breasts automatically and he rolled his eyes.
“You know, there’s no point in covering yourself. I’ve already seen everything.”
Pure, unfiltered mortification burned in your face and you glared at him. “Go to hell.”
He feigned shock, placing a hand over his heart. “How rude, and here I thought humans were more welcoming to their guests, especially in this part of the world.”
He chuckled again, his glee-filled eyes fixed on yours. “But I imagine that’s lost on you.”
“You’re not a guest.” Your reply was harsh, angry embarrassment still driving your words.
“No?” He leaned over the edge of the tub, getting far too close for comfort. “Then what am I?”
Dozens of answers sprang to mind. He was awful, for one. You often wondered if the stitches that ran along his skin were the only things that kept the rot in his soul from physically bubbling to the surface.
Repulsive was another. Abhorrent. Nauseating. Terrifying. Incredibly unwelcome in ways that caused words to fall short.
“A pain in the ass.” Was the savory answer you chose.
Mahito let out a bark of laughter - the sound loud and harsh in the acoustics of the bathroom and it caused you to flinch with how close he was to your face. Internally you were thankful when he drew back to sit cross-legged on the tile.
“A pain in the ass, huh? Can’t say I’ve heard that one before.” He said, his smirk widening. “You know, it’s always fun when humans try to be feisty.”
The fruit was low-hanging, but you took it anyway, albeit reluctantly. “Oh?”
“Yeah.” His grin widened to the point it was a marvel his stitches didn’t rip. “It makes it more enjoyable when they realize nothing can save them.”
The heavy feeling in your stomach quickly turned to ice. You sank a little lower in the tub, although warmth did nothing for the goosebumps that blossomed along your skin at the threat.
But that wasn’t quite right, it wasn’t a threat. No, it was fact, and he stated it like one. Mahito enjoyed destroying people, peeling back layer after layer - both physical and psychological - to see what was underneath. It was entertainment disguised as research, since - even despite being shown what he was capable of - you refused to believe even someone as vile as him got any knowledge out of what appeared to be pure torture.
Mahito sniggered at the look on your face and he waved a hand dismissively
“Oh relax, nothing’s going to happen to you.”
The unspoken ‘yet’ at the end of his sentence lingered in the air, mixing with the scent of eucalyptus and poisoning it.
“Anyway, that’s enough of that.”
You looked at him quizzically as he stood back up, but the confusion was short-lived as you saw him reach for the hem of his shirt.
Your eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
“Uhm, what the hell are you doing?!”
“There’s more than enough room in there for two.” The casualness of Mahito’s voice was slightly muffled when he pulled his shirt over his head. “And it’s been a while since I’ve had a bath, the hot springs aren’t exactly close, you know?”
He wasn’t wrong. The house you were looking after belonged to a couple, and it was clear the bathtub was bought with the intention of having more than one person in it, but the mere thought of being near Mahito that way made you want to vomit.
When he stripped out of his pants your eyes immediately moved to the bubbles surrounding you. It was a hopeless situation since, even if you did move to get out, not only would he truly see you in all your glory, he’d likely drag you right back in anyway.
When he stepped in, the water was displaced so greatly that some of it spilled over the edge and onto the tiled floor. A grimace crossed your face and your eyes narrowed at the bubbles. You’d have to clean that up later.
Mahito was quiet for maybe a minute maximum, shifting around here and there and displacing more water onto the floor until he sighed dramatically.
“This isn’t comfortable.”
The urge to snap at him that he was more than welcome to get out clung to the tip of your tongue and nearly leaped off of it, but any kind of response was replaced with more of that awful but familiar embarrassed outrage as you felt cold fingers wrap around your wrist and pull you forward.
It threw you off balance horribly, and your free hand shot out instinctively to catch your fall a moment too late. Water went up your nose when you went underwater for a brief moment and you came up just as fast as you went down, coughing and sputtering as Mahito pulled you against him - twisting you so you were settled between his legs with your back against his chest.
His giggle mixed with the ringing in your ears.
“Whoops.” He said, apology non-existent. “But this is more comfortable, don’t you think?”
You didn’t want to think. You didn’t want to think about any of it. Not the way one of his arms was wrapped around your waist, locking you in place, or the way the bone in his chin dug into the muscles of your shoulder.
Each cough from you made more water spill onto the floor and Mahito sighed again while he smoothed the wet strands of your hair away from your face.
For a moment you wondered if this is what Ashes felt like whenever you bathed her.
