Why an Intelligent Layout Is Essential for a Spacious and Functional Bathroom
Tumblr media
When it comes to designing a bathroom, the layout plays a critical role in both functionality and the perception of space. Whether you’re dealing with a small bathroom or a larger area, a well-planned layout can make the difference between a cramped, cluttered space and a room that feels open, organized, and efficient. Here’s why an intelligent layout is key to creating a bathroom that is both spacious and functional.
1. Maximizes Available Space
An intelligent layout allows you to make the most of the space you have, regardless of your bathroom’s size. By carefully considering where to place each fixture and storage solution, you can optimize both floor and wall space. For instance, placing the sink, toilet, and shower along one wall can streamline the room and free up more open space, creating a seamless flow.
2. Improves Functionality and Flow
A smart layout improves the functionality of your bathroom, ensuring that everything is easy to access and use. When each element is thoughtfully placed, you can move around the room with ease, reducing the feeling of congestion. For example, positioning the vanity close to the entrance while keeping the shower or tub at the back creates a natural progression that enhances the flow of the space.
3. Enhances Storage Solutions
Clever storage is essential for a functional bathroom, and a smart layout will make it easy to incorporate. With proper planning, you can integrate built-in storage or recessed shelves in key areas to reduce clutter. Floating vanities, tall storage cabinets, and even space-saving corner shelves can help keep everything organized without crowding the room.
4. Increases Comfort and Usability
An intelligent layout also contributes to the overall comfort of your bathroom. By creating clear zones for each activity, such as washing, bathing, or storage, you can ensure that the space is practical and comfortable. If your bathroom layout makes sense, it will feel more comfortable to use on a daily basis, making your morning routines or evening wind-downs more enjoyable.
5. Makes Small Spaces Feel Larger
Even the smallest bathrooms can feel more spacious with the right layout. Thoughtfully positioning fixtures and using vertical space for storage helps create a sense of openness. Wall-mounted sinks, floating vanities, and glass shower enclosures are excellent choices for opening up the floor plan, while light colors and reflective surfaces further enhance the illusion of space.
6. Accommodates Future Needs
A smart bathroom layout also considers your long-term needs. By designing with flexibility in mind, you can ensure that your bathroom will remain functional as your family’s needs change. For example, leaving room for future updates, like adding a double vanity or upgrading to a walk-in shower, allows for easy modifications without requiring a complete remodel.
7. Boosts Visual Appeal
Finally, a well-designed layout enhances the overall aesthetic of your bathroom. A spacious, uncluttered design naturally feels more inviting and luxurious. The balance between form and function creates a cohesive look that reflects your style while providing practical solutions for daily use.
In conclusion, an intelligent layout is the foundation of a spacious, functional, and beautiful bathroom. By maximizing available space, improving flow, and incorporating smart storage solutions, you can create a bathroom that meets your needs today and in the future.

Mafia!Bob AU
Bob Floyd, arms dealer for The Daggers, and, most importantly, sweet loving boyfriend
Short mafia Bob blurb
Tumblr media
As Bob sat at her vanity, he pulled his glasses from his face. It was his least favourite part of his morning, swapping his wire rimmed glasses for his glasses.
She watched from their bed, looking pretty in his clothes, as he struggled. "Bobby," she said as she climbed from beneath the comforter. She walked over and sat herself on his lap, completely blocking his view of the mirror as she helped him to put in his contact lenses.
As he did, Bob held onto her hips, squeezing slightly. "There," she said as soon as she had popped the second one in. "Now everybody can see your pretty eyes."
Robert Floyd hated wearing his contact lenses. He loved his glasses, but they made him look so nerdy. And you can't look nerdy when you work for Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell. Not when you're the arms dealer for The Daggers.
"I shouldn't be home too late tonight, Bun," he said and leaned forward to kiss her noise. "Are you doing anything nice today?"
She shrugged and laid her head on his shoulder. "Think Mickey wants to come to the store with me?" She asked as she blinked up at him.
"I think Mickey has no choice," he said and kissed the top of her head. He would have given anything to spend the day with her, would have given anything to swap places with Mickey. But he couldn't, not unless he wanted to face Mav's wrath (and he'd never expose her to that).
Bob pulled his wallet from his pocket and placed it in her hands. "No spending limit for you, my baby," he said and pulled her in her a kiss. "Get anything you'd like."
He hated leaving her, but worked called. Bob stood up, still holding her as he walked over to the bed and dropped her on it. "I'll miss you, bunny," he whispered and kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled at his hair, desperate to keep him there with her. "Stay," she whispered against his lips.
Bob let out a groan "I'm sorry, bun," he said and pressed his forehead against her own.
Reluctantly, she let him go. She watched as Bob walked out of the bedroom, leaving her there wearing a pout.
It had become a daily ritual. Her, reluctant to let him go, and Bob, reluctant to leave her.
She went shopping, taking Mickey (Bob's best friend and the man who was charged with protecting her while Bob worked) from shop to shop.
Bob couldn't help but think about her as he worked. As he took inventory, as he sorted orders for Ice Man, he was thinking of nothing but her.
But then Jake and Bradley came knocking on his office door. They didn't wait for him to say anything before they walked in and threw their guns on his desk. "We want an upgrade," said Jake.
Bob picked up the gun. "Guys, how do you think this works?" He couldn't stop himself from asking. "Do you think you can upgrade your guns like this is Grand Theft Auto?"
"No," Bradley said immediately. "We just want something better."
Bob let out a sigh as he checked through his books. "Fine, I'll see what I can do."
The old Bob wouldn't have so easily given them what they wanted. The old Bob would have made them stick with their old guns until they damaged them beyond repair. But he'd gone soft, and it was all because of her.
At the end of the day, Bob couldn't wait to get back to her. He locked up the gun store, checked over his books one last time, and made his way back to her.
"Bunny!" Bob called the moment he walked into their lavish apartment. A fond smile crossed his face at the sight of the shopping bags by the door.
He pushed on, past the living room and straight into the bathroom. This part of his day had also become a ritual, but a comforting one at that.
After a day of dealing weapons and selling them in the cities, Bob's favourite part of his day was when he got to wash the grime away and take out his goddamn contacts.
And then it was a careful walk to their bedroom to put his wire framed glasses on.
When he walked into the bedroom, she was just a pretty blob on the bed. Bob placed his glasses on his face and looked down at her, dressed in pretty lingerie that Bob had never seen before.
Pretty lingerie that she'd with his money. "Holy shit, Bunny," he said as he looked down at her. But there with little else he had to say before he was shedding off his suit and climbing on top of her.
@nurse-sainz this is for youuuuuu

Body a Day 27: Closet
Tumblr media
I think it's convenient that these humans can be called in a whim and they will just come with no suspicion whatsoever that I need someone to fix my walk-in closet every single day. Well, I did call different companies in rotation and came up with different excuses or details, but so far, these handyman really proven themselves to be handy bodies to be worn by my people as they entered my walk-in closet with their gears eager to do their work and walked out already wrapped under our control
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So after around a month or so, I already built a sizable group of our kind's first colony on Earth. So I couldn't really control the type of bodies of the people I called to come, but I think this blue-collar sector filled with fit people with muscles that is not just for vanity but indeed useful and filled with strength. Some of them walked out gingerly after the possession, but some other just dashed out confidently as if they've never been possessed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few of them even outlandishly wanted to have sex with my vessels right off the bat after the takeover, it's like as if they directly wired to their human's lustful desire and let it control them rather than they override it, which is disappointing because we shouldn't degrade ourselves as if we're really human. We just used their body because it's easier for us to navigate this planet in their skin undetectable, and well, lucky that we ended up right away in a rather fit compound of people. Let's just say that I punished the morally-depraved right away and force them to be above their desire and not let their dick do the talking
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, the colony that we established slowly yet surely expanded because the work of these blue-collar worker exposed them to the home of the rich and famous around this neighborhood, which is known to be the most expensive zip code in this country. They sometimes left their original vessel to acquire the more socially endowed ones while leaving the rugged empties just a mere husk they can tell to do their dirty work. So, upon looking at their upgrade, you could say that I was inspired to get my very own upgrade, after all I'm the oldest colonist, I need to establish my dominance over these youngins, right?
So, right before Christmas, this huge guy walked in after I asked some help in my bathroom. I never expected such fine older person would casually walk in as this person couldn't be just a regular handyman. But I realized that he came down to my house because my vessel used this guy's service for the bespoke bathroom before.
Tumblr media
Being the prideful business owner that he is to the craft and services he provided, he decided to oversee the whole repair process. He came along with this other big, fully-tattooed guy that resembled more of the kind of people that I expected to come instead while the owner could talk his way to me about doing some other renovation in this house that his services can handle. Sizing him up and sensing his strength, the big guy seemed like a tough nut to crack in 1-on-1 battle, because.....just look at the guy, he's easily towered over any of us at 6'5" and that shoulder is as wide as a professional swimmer or something. I glanced around at the hard-working handyman kneeling to fix one of the broken tiles and started plotting. I decided to use the help of the tattooed bufffoon by taking care of him first, so when his boss was busy with another client call (I made another member of the colony to distract him), I asked him to came along with me to the walk-in closet in my bedroom as I need some help. Upon entering, one of my kind latched itself to his head and started crawling for control. He tried to swat my insectoid fella away, but he was not fast enough before the 12-legged-freak managed to get inside the buffoon. It was quick, just around a couple minutes or so and he's ready to help me get my upgraded body
When his boss returned from the call, all in a sudden, he choked his boss and easily lifted the 250 lbs muscle mountain with just one hand.
Tumblr media
That's when I crawled out from my vessel and with the help of the vessel's hand that still moved under my will, he grabbed my form and landed me right on the service owner's nose that I learned to be named Youssef. My used vessels then said stoically
"Well Youssef, you should rejoice, because you've been selected to serve a bigger purpose. Your service will be helping us tremendously to expand further, so let's crack that mouth open so I can squeezed in---"
---
That was a couple days ago. Now, I'll let you be the judge. I look way better now, right?

chapter two ♫♪♩·.¸¸
It was almost 3am when you made it to Eddie's place. You took an Uber since Eddie claimed his precious baby, aka the shitbox van he still had, was at the shop until tomorrow, or today in this case. Eddie flipped on the lights and waltzed in, his arms open wide as he twirled around the living area.
''Tada!''
You were pleasantly surprised at how nice his place was. It was a bit messy, like he said, but you immediately felt drawn into it, intrigued to dive into the place. It was Eddie's and this was an unfiltered look into who he was today.
The living room was airy, a beige loveseat with an array of random throwpillows that didn't match each other at all in front of the TV, a a slightly dusty glass coffee table sat in front of it, topped with an unwashed mug and half empty glass of water, with a colorful Aztec rug underneath. The kitchen was white and modern with all the necessary appliances, sat against a natural red brick wall that made the space look cozy and warm. The only bathroom you were to share with Eddie was smaller than the one you had before, but big enough to fit a single sink vanity, a round mirror on the wall, a shower with a glass door and a small, but comfortable clawfoot tub. You noticed a couple shampoo bottles on the floor in the shower, along with a loofa hanging from the shower faucet. Ending in the bedroom that would be yours, it was accentuated with a king size bed, two nightstands on either side, with a big closet and a smaller dresser. It was probably the only room in the apartment that felt lifeless at the moment, you couldn't wait to transform it into your own space. Before you went to turn around, you noticed the door to the adjacent room was cracked open. It must have been Eddie's, you could only make out a few posters on the wall and a candle sitting on a nightstand, next to a bottle of lotion and a box of tissues. Gross.
Overall, you gave it a solid 7 out of 10. It was definitely an upgrade from the tiny trailer he used to live in.
''It's nice,'' you said.
''It's home.''
You nodded, hiding the yawn that tried to escape.
Eddie nodded his head towards the bedrooms and started walking in the same direction, you following suit. ''So, fresh sheets are in the dresser, towels are in the bathroom. I have a spare key lying around somewhere that I can give you tomorrow. For everything else, we can figure it out along the way.''
You nodded, holding your hands behind your back so he wouldn't see your nervous fingers rubbing against each other. ''Thank you, for this. It's only temporary, until I can get my own deposit together. Then I'll be out of your hair.''
''You don't have to thank me. It's the least I can do.''
You stopped, standing in front of the adjacent doors like the neighbors you now were. It's the closest you've been to him in a long time, both literally and figuratively. He was taller than you, in the best way, with the top of your head fitting under his chin perfectly. You braved to look up at him, finding him already looking down at you. He averted his eyes as soon as they met yours though.
''Okay.''
''Okay,'' he repeated, taking a step back. You gripped the strap of your bag and pushed your door open.
''Good night, Eddie.''
''Night.''
In the safety of your new room, all alone, you took a deep breath. You dropped your overnight bag onto the mattress and fetched out your favorite pajama set, changing into them. You placed your bag next to the bed and opened the dresser, finding your bedding. The pillowcases and duvet cover were easy, but the fitted sheet seemed to fight back every chance it got, slipping off one corner when you went to the opposite one. Groaning out loud for the millionth time, you went to try again when there was a knock on your door.
''What the hell are you doing? It sounds like a porno in there,'' Eddie's muffled voice came from the other side of the door.
''You wish. I'm just messing with the sheets,'' you shouted back, now on top of the mattress on all fours, pulling the sheet over the upper left corner. Gently, you held your hands in the air when it didn't budge and started to shimmy your way to the other side, when the sheet snapped back again and hit you straight in the face.
''Ow!''
''Are you okay?''
The door burst open, Eddie barging in, naked. Okay, he wasn't completely naked, he was wearing tight black boxers that left little to the imagination. You and Eddie never slept together in high school, but you did other things and you remember very well how his body felt against yours, or how warm he always was. You were crouched on your side, holding one side of your face, your mouth drier than the Sahara desert seeing Eddie like this. You'd never seen him naked either, only with his shirt off and you were right about him working out. His chest was more toned than before, his stomach rippled with the smallest dusting of abs, a sharp V line that you never noticed before, ending in the light thatch of hair on his abdomen that disappeared into his boxers. He had more tattoos too, he'd once shown you all of them. He had more smaller tattoos littered on his arms, just various simple doodles really. His right thigh was covered in colorful ink, starting from under his boxers and stopping above his knee. The one piece of ink that caused you to have a near aneurysm was the one below his belly button, three phrases all lined up under each other, like a tiny poem above his pelvis. Stark black ink, all capital letters.
TRUST ME LOVE ME FUCK ME
''Y/N!''
''Huh? What?''
Eddie was looking at you, brows furrowed, but his eyes held their typical mischief. He'd caught you staring, that was obvious. Even a blind person would notice that ogling.
''I asked if you were okay?''
''Y-yeah, sorry. Got hit in the face with the sheet, stupid thing won't hold down.''
Eddie snorted and held his hand up for you to grab. You took it hesitantly and he helped you stand up. ''Here, you get that side, I'll grab this one.''
Working together, you got the sheet on the bed in twenty seconds tops. You elected to ignore the way his back muscles rolled or how his thick thighs moved so smoothly, no thigh gap in sight.
''Are you working tomorrow?'' he asked.
''No, thank fuck.''
''Need me to tuck you in?''
''Goodbye, Edward.''
''Cute pajamas, by the way!''
Pushing Eddie out and slamming the door in his snickering face, you fell on the fresh sheets, barely being able to pull the covers up when you were already sleeping.
Ten hours later, you were up and hauling in six boxes full of your personal belongings that you had retrieved from your old apartment. Eddie was still asleep when you left and you didn't want to wake him either. Last night was a set back for you, a mere hour after you swore to yourself you wouldn't fall for him again, you were wishing you had x-ray vision to see through those tight boxers. You blamed it all on being exhausted, you let your guard slip. Then again, that lower belly tattoo he had stayed with you all morning. He had always been a pretty guy in your eyes, but this... upgraded version of him was something much more obscene. He was his same self, personality wise, but that fact added with how good he looked in his almost mid twenties, how he carried himself with more confidence than ever before, was enough to kill a woman.
You were pushing a box of clothes across the hardwood floors, when the door to Eddie's bedroom opened, the sun from his room shining into the hallway. He was wearing pants this time, a pair of grey sweats so low on his hips, you could easily spot that tattoo again. No shirt, of course, but his messy hair was up in a bun, which you thought was cute. He'd never worn it like that. Eddie crossed his arms, leaning on the doorframe.
''Excuse me miss, are you looking for a big, strong man to help you with these boxes?''
''Yeah, you know where I can find one?''
Keening in victory, you grinned at his unamused glare towards you. Pointing your head toward the entrance, you told him about the last box.
''Thank you,'' you said, wiping the sweat from your forehead with the back of your hand. Eddie placed the last box next to your bed, grunting.
''Jesus, what do you have in here, a body?''
''Books,'' you deadpanned.
''Oh, what kind?'' he asked, looking around the room.
''Eh.. fantasy, romance, one Kamasutra book.''
Eddie's head whipped around so fast, his bun wobbled on top of his head. His already big eyes were ready to pop out any second. You giggled, which burst into a full belly laugh when he realized you were joking. He rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breath, marching out of the room.
You busied yourself with unboxing everything. You hanged your clothes in the closet, lining your shoes up at the floor of the wardrobe, storing your bras and panties in the drawers of the dresser, leaving a couple bottom drawers empty. You stacked your new unread books on your nightstand, patiently waiting to be read. The room started to come together nicely - the dresser was topped with picture frames, one with your mom and the other with your friends at a night out, all looking at the camera with your glasses raised. The final box contained the last of your things, tiny items mostly. Your shampoo and conditioner, a make up bag, other skin care amenities, your bright pink vibrator, a gift from one of your friends, that you quickly stashed away into the top drawer of your nightstand.
Hours later, your things were put away, Eddie had gone to work, you had taken a 30 minute power nap and were now standing in the middle of the kitchen, hands on your hips, lips pursed. Now what? It sounded silly, but until now, it hadn't even occurred to you that you now have to live with Eddie. He said you wouldn't see each other much, but you lived in the same apartment, thinking you would never see each other was just wishful thinking. You thought about just chilling in your room or watching TV in the living room, maybe read one of those books you bought. But looking around the place, it was clear that it needed a good clean. A deeper investigation into Eddie's fridge, cabinets and drawers indicated that you were headed for a long night.
Lucky for you, Eddie wasn't completely helpless, or perhaps they were Steve's input into the apartment, but you found a pair of rubber gloves, a sponge and a couple of cleaning products. You cleaned the fridge, throwing out an expired carton of milk and a moldy lemon, rearranging the items so they made more sense. The cabinets weren't that bad, so you only took everything out to dust the insides. You perfected the silverware drawer, swiped down the kitchen counter and every other flat surface you could find, loaded up the dishwasher and turned it on, fluffed up the throwpillows on the couch and with a strong finish, found a vacuum and swept the whole apartment, excluding Eddie's room. You stayed out of his room, feeling like you were violating his privacy, no matter how nosy you were. Or maybe that's what you told yourself, maybe you didn't want to take a peek because the last time you saw Eddie was in his old room, in his trailer he shared with his uncle. The day that he broke your heart.
It was a hot summer night, the brisk walk to Steve's house still managing to coat the back of your neck in a sheen of sweat. Late night on the 4th of July weekend, the streets were empty, most people still in town celebrating the long weekend. The closer you got to Steve's house, the louder the thumping music got, dulling out the chirping coming from the bushes lining the street.
Pushing Steve's front door open, you were instantly hit with a thick haze, cigarette smoke lingering in the air as nobody had bothered to open a window. Teens and barely legal adults were lining the hallways, dancing in the living room to your left and playing beer pong in the kitchen to your right while Michael Jackson's Bad boomed through the entire house. You were looking around for your friends, but didn't see any of them, neither did you see the wild haired metal head who had asked you to be his date for tonight.
You shot Eddie a quick text, asking where he was. Feeling silly still standing in the hallway, you pushed through the crowd, dodging a couple making out near the bathroom, ignoring the wolf whistle when you passed two guys sharing a cigarette. Clutching your phone in one hand, you used the other one to try and pull your skirt down, suddenly feeling alone and too exposed. You'd hoped to impress Eddie tonight, putting together an outfit you didn't usually wear - a Nirvana crop top with a dark green pleated skirt, black fishnets underneath, finished with a brand new pair of Dr. Martens.
In your - then naïve - heart, you hoped tonight would be the night he'd finally ask you to be his. You'd been going out for weeks now, hanging out in his trailer, studying together, driving around in his van. Eddie always sought you out in school, smiling when he found you at your locker. He'd kiss you every time he dropped you off at home, hold your hand when you navigated the endless rows at the library, buy you cotton candy at the annual fair, call you every night to wish you sweet dreams. Isn't that what boyfriends did? Even your group of friends had started asking questions, Robin specifically. What were you - friends, lovers, strangers?
You knew Eddie and his upbringing, which is why you never pushed him for answers. The timeless classic of 'what are we' always scared every guy off anyway. You figured he had a harder time coming to terms with his feelings. However, the more you spent time together, the harder you were falling for him. Hell, you'd already fallen off that ledge a while ago and you were only sinking deeper and deeper. He was Eddie, your Eddie. Sweet and thoughtful, the way he always hummed a song when you cuddled together in front of the small TV in his trailer. You always found it hard to fall asleep when he wasn't there, lulling you to sleep.
Nearing the back of the house, you could hear splashes and cheering coming from the backyard. Breathing a sigh of relief, you picked up your steps when the double doors came in sight. Before you could make it though, someone called your name and grabbed you by the shoulder, spinning you around.
''Woah, look at you!'' Steve cheered. ''You look amazing.''
Steve pulled you in a quick hug, swaying a little bit when he pulled back. You wanted to laugh, he looked like a drunk child, bobbing his head to the music, his hair even more fluffy than usual. His eyes were rimmed red, popping open a can of beer.
''Thanks, Steve-O.'' You pushed his chest, giggling when he grabbed your hand to steady himself. ''Where's Eddie?''
Steve looked over your shoulder, scratching the two freckles on his left cheek. ''Uh, he's here somewhere. Think I saw him going to the upstairs bathroom.''
Your stomach dropped, Steve only did that when he was nervous. Why was he nervous?
''You sure? I think I heard him by the pool,'' you challenged.
Quickly grabbing your arm, Steve started pulling you towards the kitchen. ''No, no, I think that's Carver and his boys. Let's make you a drink! You look great by the way, did I mention that?''
''Steve, stop. What's going on?''
''Nothing! Just want to make you a drink, come on. What'cha want? Bloody Mary maybe?''
Steve's grip on your wrist was firm, you wouldn't be able to just pull free. Falling to dirtier tactics, you mumbled a sorry before kicking him in the back of his knee, your arm being freed when Steve tumbled to the ground, grunting.
''Y/N, wait! Don't go outside!''
Shooting a quick look back, you quickened your pace when you saw Steve getting up from the floor, rushing after you. You rushed to the back doors, the squeals and laughter getting louder. Pushing through the doors, you stopped in your tracks by the edge of the pool. Eddie was in the water with his back to you, his shirt off, but you could see his black jeans through the wavy water, his arms around Chrissy Cunningham's bare waist, her bikini clad breasts squished against his bare chest. Her arms around his neck, legs crossed on his back, she hung on to him like a koala, head thrown back in laughter.
Your arrival had gotten their attention, Eddie's head turning towards you, the toothy smile on his face dropping instantly.
''Oh, Y/N, you look amazing!'' Chrissy gasped.
Eddie said nothing, did nothing, as the two of you just stared at each other, his brown eyes shameful while yours were filling with tears, blurring your vision. Your struggled to take a breath, feeling like your lungs had just been ripped from your chest, never mind your stupid, optimistic heart.
Steve sighed behind you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders, pulling you away. He cleared the party, lead you to one of the guest bedrooms, helped you under the covers and stayed with you the entire night, sitting on the floor next to the bed, while you wept until the early hours of the morning. The next Monday, you saw Eddie near his locker, his head bowed when you passed him in silence. His left eye was blue and purple, top lip busted. Too hurt and tired, you chose to ignore Steve's bruised knuckles when you grabbed lunch with him that day.
It was always a weird game, thinking about the time you spent with Eddie. Your heart treasured the good times, but then your head caught up, slicing those thoughts in half and showing you the pain underneath. You remembered that night so vividly, having gone through the events in your mind more times than you could count.
Then you remembered seeing him at graduation. Flinging his diploma around, his graduation cap long gone somewhere with his busted white sneakers peeking out underneath the blue skirt. He was happily chatting with Wayne, who patted him on the shoulder and looked so proud of his nephew, his son really, that for that one moment you forgot about everything and let yourself be happy for him. That was until Chrissy came along, her ponytail swinging in the air and kissed Eddie on the cheek, their fingers touching. You would have gone over there and slapped that goofy look off of his face if it weren't for Robin and Nancy calling your name, causing Eddie's eyes to look up, his smile dropping instantly.
You were so mad at him, still are if you think about it longer than five minutes. Ever since then there has been a sick battle going on between your head and your heart, like you said. In your heart, you believed he felt something for you as well. Then your head comes knocking, telling you to look at the facts.
It's all true, your head said, he didn't like you, never really wanted you. You were a game to him.
You missed him at times, the boy that you once loved, who he used to be. Your first love and your first heartbreak. But what was once said and done cannot be undone. Maybe it was time to forget about the past and focus on the present. Maybe you'd forgive him enough to become friends again. They say time heals all wounds, but so far, you were still stuck in that day, unhealed and betrayed and you had no idea how to move on from that.

Revitalize Your Space: Expert Tips for Bathroom Remodeling Excellence
Tumblr media
Welcome to the world of bathroom remodeling, where the ordinary can be transformed into the extraordinary. A bathroom remodel isn't just about updating fixtures; it's an opportunity to revitalize your space and create a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore expert tips and techniques to help you achieve bathroom remodeling excellence.
Assessing Your Needs
Before diving into your bathroom remodel, take the time to assess your needs and priorities. Consider factors such as your daily routine, storage requirements, and aesthetic preferences. Are you looking to create a spa-like retreat, maximize storage space, or simply update the look of your bathroom? Understanding your goals will guide your decisions and ensure that your remodel meets your expectations.
Optimizing Layout and Functionality
Maximize the efficiency and functionality of your bathroom by optimizing the layout. Consider the flow of traffic and the placement of fixtures to create a seamless and intuitive space. Aim for a layout that minimizes clutter and maximizes accessibility, whether you're getting ready for work in the morning or winding down at the end of the day.
Selecting Fixtures and Finishes
The fixtures and finishes you choose can make a significant impact on the overall look and feel of your bathroom. From luxurious soaking tubs to sleek, modern faucets, there are endless options to suit your style and budget. Consider incorporating high-quality materials like marble, porcelain, and chrome for a timeless and elegant finish that will stand the test of time.
Innovative Storage Solutions
Maximize storage space in your bathroom with innovative solutions tailored to your needs. Explore options like built-in shelves, recessed cabinets, and vanity organizers to keep toiletries, towels, and other essentials neatly organized and within reach. Don't overlook vertical storage opportunities, such as wall-mounted cabinets and over-the-door organizers, to make the most of limited space.
Enhancing Lighting and Ambiance
Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood and enhancing the ambiance of your bathroom. Incorporate a mix of task lighting, ambient lighting, and accent lighting to create a layered and inviting atmosphere. Consider installing dimmer switches, LED bulbs, and sconces around mirrors to provide ample illumination for grooming tasks while also creating a warm and welcoming environment.
Embracing Eco-Friendly Solutions
Make your bathroom remodel more sustainable by embracing eco-friendly solutions. Choose water-saving fixtures, low-flow toilets, and energy-efficient lighting to reduce your environmental footprint and lower utility bills. Consider materials like bamboo, recycled glass, and reclaimed wood for a more eco-conscious approach to design. By incorporating sustainable practices into your remodel, you can create a healthier and more environmentally friendly space for you and your family to enjoy.

Bathroom Vanity Vibes: Where Style Meets Functionality
In the world of home design, the bathroom vanity is an unsung hero. It's where you prep for the day ahead and unwind in the evening. But it's more than just a practical space; it's a canvas for self-expression and a reflection of your style. Here, we dive into the art of bathroom vanities and how they seamlessly blend style and functionality.
🌟 Style That Speaks: Bathroom vanities come in a stunning array of styles. From classic and traditional to sleek and modern, there's a vanity that mirrors your unique taste. The choice of materials, colors, and shapes sets the tone for your entire bathroom.
🧴 Functionality Matters: Beyond aesthetics, a bathroom vanity is your storage sanctuary. Cabinets and drawers provide room for towels, toiletries, and all your daily essentials. Choose a layout that suits your storage needs and enhances your daily routine.
🪞 Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: The vanity mirror is more than just a reflection; it's a statement piece. Round, rectangular, or ornate, your mirror should enhance the overall look of your vanity while serving its practical purpose.
💡 Lighting Brilliance: Proper lighting is key in any vanity setup. Wall sconces, pendant lights, or even backlit mirrors can create the perfect ambiance for grooming and makeup application.
Tumblr media
🪑 Seating Comfort: If space allows, consider adding a vanity stool or chair. It's not only a stylish addition but also a practical one for those moments when you want to take your time.
🌿 Personal Touch: Don't forget to add personal touches. A vase of fresh flowers, a scented candle, or a decorative tray can elevate your vanity from ordinary to extraordinary.
💧 Sink Selection: The type of sink you choose can greatly impact both style and functionality. Vessel sinks exude modern elegance, while under-mount sinks create a sleek, seamless look.
🧽 Maintenance Ease: Select materials and finishes that are easy to clean and maintain. It's essential to keep your vanity looking fresh and functional over time.
🔄 Future-Proofing: Think long-term. Your bathroom vanity should be a timeless investment. Opt for durable materials and designs that can withstand changing trends.
✨ Express Yourself: In the world of bathroom design, your vanity is your canvas. Let your personality shine through in the colors, textures, and accessories you choose.
In the end, a bathroom vanity isn't just a piece of furniture; it's a reflection of your personality and a cornerstone of your daily routine. So, whether you're going for classic elegance or modern minimalism, let your bathroom vanity be your style statement.

Everything About You - Two. (Bradley Bradshaw x OFC)
Tumblr media
a/n: Here's part two of my 13 Going on 30 x Top Gun: Maverick AU fic! I'm pretty proud of this one, I'm not going to lie.
pairing: Bradley Bradshaw (AU) x Danielle Lucas (OFC)
content/warnings: mentions of character deaths.
word count: 2.5k
You woke up the next morning with a sense of disorientation. Something was…different. Something you couldn’t put your finger on. Blinking against the morning light streaming through your bedroom window, you rubbed your eyes and stretched, trying to shake off the lingering effects of an unusual dream. However, as your surroundings came into focus, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
The room looked different—unrecognizable. Your pale-pink walled bedroom with all the decor of a 90s teenager was gone. Replacing them were beige painted walls with white trim, and where boyband posters once sat were now framed photos of simiplistic wall art. The inflatable chair that Bradley always teased you for was nowhere to be seen, in its place now sitting a vanity with a clear acrylic chair. Panic surged through your body as you glanced around, heart racing. Was this some sort of prank? A bad dream?
Slowly, you swung her legs over the side of the bed, cautious as you stood up. You continued to glance around the room, covering your mouth to muffle your astounded gasp as you saw a sleeping figure laying next to your spot in the bed, its short blonde hair sticking out every which way from under the covers, a large foot sticking out at the other end of the bed.
You stumbled out of the room, still in a dazed state of shock as you searched the hallway for the bathroom, rubbing your eyes and trying to convince yourself it was just a dream. The bathroom was nothing like the one you’d remembered - the harsh lighting and vinyl flooring of your parents house had been upgraded to a warmer, soft glowing overhead light with ceramic tile at your feet. Two toothbrushes sat in the ornate holder on the counter of the marble sink. You frowned as you rubbed your eyes again before turning the cold water tap on. Splashing the cool liquid over your face, you blinked twice before looking up into the mirror.
What you saw left you breathless. Staring back at you was a 30-year-old woman, not the 13-year-old girl you were when you went to sleep the night before. Shock and disbelief washed over you as you took in the unfamiliar new features of your face. You raced out of the bathroom, running to look for something, anything that could explain what was going on if you didn’t wake up from this dream first.
While you frantically searched the kitchen for any indication as to what could be going on here, you heard a set of footprints stomping down the hall, heavy as they headed towards the kitchen. A tall, well-built blonde haired man stood before you, pulling a t-shirt on over his head with a smile.
“Mornin’ sweetheart, you ok? You look…different.” He said, laughing slightly as he began making himself a coffee.
“Huh?”
“Dani, you ok?” His brows furrowed as he looked at you now, appearing concerned for you.
“How do you know my name?”
You stared at the blonde stranger, unsure if you should run away screaming or phone the police. Yet, somehow, it felt like he belonged here. There was a strange sense of worry on his face, contorted into a frown as he looked at you again.
“Babe, did you hit your head or something?” He chuckled awkwardly, shaking his head, his seafoam coloured eyes looking up at you in confused bewilderment.
“No? I mean…I don’t think so.”
You frowned as you sat down in the chair at the kitchen table, feeling confused and defeated. You had no idea what was going on or how you got here. Last night when you fell asleep, you were 13, and miserable. This morning, you’re a full-grown adult in an unfamiliar apartment with an equally full-grown man. The blonde man sat down across from you, raising an eyebrow.
“Dani, babe, what’s going on? You look anxious about something,” he frowned for a moment, in thought, “Are you pregnant? ‘Cause if you are, I mean, I’ll support whatever you decide.”
“No!” you shrieked, almost horrified at the notion, forgetting that you were in the body of an adult, “Absolutely not. I’m definitely not pregnant,” you affirmed, shaking your head quickly.
“Ok, well, that’s good, I guess. Doesn’t explain the weird behaviour though.”
You studied his face for a moment, it seemed familiar, but you’d never seen him before - at least, you’d thought you hadn’t. His sunkissed tanned skin was flawless, the odd freckle dotting him here and there. His honey coloured hair was tousled and messy, but yet, he looked fresh off a runway. You raised an eyebrow at him before shaking your head, putting a hand to your forehead and laughing.
“Sorry, uh, who are you?”
He frowned for a moment, almost insulted that you were asking him such a question.
“Jake…your boyfriend?”
“Right! Right…uh, Jake, how…how old am I?”
Ok, Dani, I think you hit your head pretty hard, should I take you to a doctor?”
“No! No, I’m fine, I promise. I just…” you sighed, shaking your head. He’d never believe you. You’d never believe you, but you had no choice but to try and tell him what you remembered, “Promise you won’t think I’m insane?”
“I promise I’ll try not to?”
You began to tell Jake everything you could remember. The day at school, the party, Alexis, the fight with Bradley - everything. He listened patiently, nodding his head as you rambled, trying to process your every word. He laughed when you were done explaining, clearly unsure how else to react.
“Alexis? You mean your friend Alexis?”
“We’re…we’re friends?”
“Yeah, you were out with her last night. Well, my last night, I guess. I’ve never heard of this Bradley guy before.”
“You haven’t?”
Your face fell for a moment, sighing as you realized that your fight with Bradley must have created some sort of permanent issue between the two of you.
“Wait…how old am I?”
Jake shrugged his shoulders and laughed as he answered, clearly going along with whatever issue you were currently going through.
“You turned 30 yesterday, babe. Oct. 24, 2014.”
“2014?!”
“Yeah. last I checked.”
“Jake,” you frowned, speaking softly as you looked at him, “Do you think you could help me find Bradley? I really need to talk to him.”
"Okay, Dani, first things first,” Jake sighed softly, “The world has changed a lot since you were 13. One big thing is social media. It's like this massive online network where people connect, share updates, and, well, basically live their lives in the digital realm. If you wanna find Bradley, this is going to be your best bet."
You listened intently, feeling a mix of fascination and overwhelming confusion. "Social media? You think I could find Bradley that way?"
"It's a way for people to stay connected, share their experiences, and even find old friends," Jake explained patiently. "Think of it as a virtual scrapbook of your life that everyone can see. And, lucky for us, it's a great tool for finding people. We just need to figure out which platforms Bradley might be using."
As Jake continued to unravel the concept of social media for you, he could sense your growing eagerness to navigate this unfamiliar terrain.
"So, what do you say, Dani? Ready to dive into the world of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter? We might just find Bradley and, who knows, maybe even get some clues about how you ended up in 2014."
Encouraged by Jake's optimism, you nodded to yourself, ready for the challenge. "Yeah, let's do it. If this is what it takes to find Bradley, then I'm all in."
Jake pulled out his smartphone, swiping his finger across the screen. The sleek device, with its touch screen and array of icons, caught you completely off guard.
"Wait, what is that thing you just pulled out?" You asked, a hint of confusion in your voice.
"Oh, this?" Jake chuckled, holding up his smartphone. "It's a smartphone, Dani. It's like a mini-computer that fits in your pocket. I can do all sorts of things with it, and one of the most useful features for us right now is accessing social media."
You squinted at the unfamiliar device, trying to comprehend the technological leap that had occurred since you last remembered.
"Social media on a tiny computer? I'm not sure I follow."
Jake grinned, ready to demystify the modern gadget for his bewildered girlfriend.
"Okay, imagine this is your phone, right? You can use it to connect to the internet and access platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We can search for Bradley and see if he's on any of these. It's like a digital detective tool, Dani."
As Jake navigated through the smartphone's features, you couldn't help but marvel at the technology in Jake's hands. The concept of a phone being more than just a device for calls and messages was mind-boggling.
"Technology has come a long way since 1997," Jake remarked with a smirk. "Now, let's find Bradley and get some answers, shall we?"
With newfound understanding and a mix of curiosity and determination, you braced yourself for this journey into the digital realm, armed with a smartphone and the hope of reconnecting with a friend lost in the folds of time. The search through social media profiles became a digital journey, a maze of interconnected lives waiting to be explored. With Jake's smartphone in hand, you felt the weight of anticipation as together, you navigated through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Each tap and scroll brought you closer to the possibility of finding Bradley, a familiar name amid the vast sea of digital identities.
As Jake typed "Bradley Bradshaw" into the Facebook search bar, the screen filled with a cascade of profiles, a mosaic of faces and names. The challenge was to discern your Bradley from the myriad others who shared his name. Your eyes scanned each profile picture, searching for the familiar features she remembered from their shared past. The seconds felt like an eternity as they sifted through the virtual crowd.
Transitioning to Instagram, Jake explained the platform's visual nature.
"Photos can tell a story, Dani. Let's see if we can spot Bradley in the midst of these snapshots."
You dove into a collection of images – sunsets, cityscapes, astonishing meals and smiling faces. The process was like peering through a digital album of moments frozen in time.
Twitter had presented its own set of challenges, with the endless stream of tweets and hashtags. You wondered if Bradley's voice could be discerned in the brief, text-based snippets. The hunt continued, a shared determination pushing you forward despite the uncertainties that lingered in the digital expanse.
It was amidst this digital quest that your eyes caught a glimpse of familiarity. A profile picture, aged but unmistakable, drew her attention.
“That’s him!” you said quickly, almost in disbelief as you looked at the image before you.
The moment was surreal as you tapped on Bradley's profile, feeling a rush of emotions at the prospect of reconnecting with a friend she thought she had lost to the echoes of time.
As the profile opened, a digital portal to Bradley's life unfolded. You scrolled through the curated moments, capturing glimpses of his journey through the years. The sense of relief and joy overwhelmed you, grateful for the technological marvel that had bridged the gap between past and present, connecting you to Bradley once again across the ever-changing landscape of time and technology.
As you navigated through Bradley's social media profile, you were met with a visual narrative that encapsulates the journey of her childhood friend from adolescence to adulthood. The striking contrast between the awkward, lanky teenager with braces at 13 and the successful and handsome 30-year-old journalist is accentuated by Bradley's prominent mustache, a distinctive feature that now graces his mature face.
The scars she remembered on his face had long faded, nearly unnoticeable now. His amber coloured eyes were covered by a pair of aviator sunglasses, and a Hawaiian print shirt with a tropical colour palette hung off his shoulders, with a tight, fitted white t-shirt underneath, his light denim jeans hugging his figure.
The mustache adds an air of sophistication to Bradley's appearance, an unexpected yet charming detail that enhances his overall appeal. You found yourself captivated by this newfound aspect of Bradley's identity, appreciating the subtle changes that time has etched on his face. As you absorbed the images of a confident and accomplished Bradley, the mustache becomes a symbolic marker of his growth and identity, weaving a unique thread between the past and the present. For a moment, you realize, he’s the spitting image of his dad - a man you never got to meet, but remembered vividly from photos scattered around Bradley’s childhood home.
“That’s him?” Jake asked softly, raising an impressed eyebrow as he looked at the pictures with you.
“Positive. He looks just like his dad. Or at least, what I saw of his dad. He died when Bradley was little, before I met him. His mom was the nicest lady though, she always made a point of inviting me over for dinner. She sort of treated me like the daughter she never had, I guess? It’s weird though, I don’t see any sign of her.”
Jake shrugged his shoulders and laughed softly.
“I don’t have my mom on my social media pictures. Maybe she doesn’t like having her picture taken? Or maybe they got in a fight and don’t speak?”
“No, no, something…something feels off.”
“Want me to search her name?” Jake offered.
“Carole Bradshaw. With an e.”
“Got it,” Jake nodded as his fingers typed quickly into the search bar. His face fell as he read the screen, shaking his head slowly as he looked at it.
“I hate to break it to you, hun, but…you should read this.”
As Jake handed you his phone, you could see his demeanor shift from one that was positive and upbeat, to a much more solemn, saddened one. Your eyes scanned the screen, and as you read the words before you, you felt your stomach lurch, twisting and turning in a way that made you nauseous.
“Oh my god,” you shook your head, shoving the phone back at Jake as you abruptly stood up, trembling with upset and anger with yourself.
“Babe, it’s ok, you didn’t know, and it happened 13 years ago,” Jake said reassuringly.
“I should have been there for Bradley. He was so close to her, and he and I haven’t spoken?” “Well, I met you at 19, and you’ve never mentioned him over the last 11 years I’ve known you. Alexis would be the better one to ask though. You said the two of you have been best friends since eighth grade.”
“Can you take me to Alexis please? I have to ask her something.”

Using Mosaic Tiles to Add Value to Your Property: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Imagine walking into a home where the first thing that catches your eye is a stunning mosaic tile entryway, its intricate patterns telling a story of craftsmanship and elegance. This is the power of mosaic tiles - small pieces of art that can transform a space and significantly boost a property's value. Let's embark on a journey to discover how these tiny treasures can make a big impact on your home's worth and appeal.
The Timeless Appeal of Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic tiles have been adorning homes for thousands of years, from ancient Roman villas to Byzantine churches. Today, they're experiencing a renaissance in modern homes, bringing a touch of timeless beauty to contemporary spaces. A trip to your local ceramic tile shop will reveal an astounding array of options, from classic designs to cutting-edge patterns.
According to a recent National Association of Realtors report, homes with high-quality tile work can see up to a 5-7% increase in value. That's a significant return on investment for a relatively simple upgrade. But how do you choose the right mosaic tiles for your home?
Choosing the Right Mosaic Tiles for Your Home
When you step into a ceramic tile shop, the choices can be overwhelming. But fear not - choosing the perfect mosaic tiles for your home is an adventure in creativity. Consider the material - ceramic, glass, stone, or metal - each brings its own unique character to your space. Think about size too; while all mosaic tiles are small, they can range from tiny 1/4 inch pieces to larger 2 inch squares, each creating a different effect.
Color is another crucial factor. Light-colored mosaic tiles can make a room feel more spacious and airy, perfect for small bathrooms or kitchens. Darker tones, on the other hand, can add depth and coziness to larger spaces. And don't forget about patterns - from simple geometric designs to complex pictorial scenes, the pattern of your mosaic tiles can set the tone for the entire room.
Lastly, consider the grout. It's not just the glue that holds your tiles together; it's an design element in its own right. A contrasting grout color can make your mosaic tiles pop, while a matching color can create a more subtle, unified look.
Where to Use Mosaic Tiles for Maximum Impact
Now that you've chosen your perfect mosaic tiles, where should you use them to add the most value to your property? Let's take a tour through a home and explore the possibilities.
We'll start in the kitchen, where a mosaic tile backsplash can be the star of the show. It not only protects your walls from splashes and spills but also adds a pop of color and personality. According to a study by Houzz, 87% of homeowners upgrading their kitchens chose to install new backsplashes, with mosaic tiles being a popular choice.
Moving to the bathroom, mosaic tiles reign supreme. They're water-resistant, easy to clean, and can add a spa-like luxury to your space. Picture a shower enclosure with shimmering glass mosaic tiles, or a vanity backsplash that catches the light just so.
In the entryway, mosaic tiles can make a lasting first impression. A beautiful mosaic floor or accent wall sets the tone for your entire home, welcoming guests with a touch of artistry.
Don't forget about outdoor spaces! A plain patio can be transformed into a Mediterranean-inspired retreat with the right mosaic tiles. They're durable enough to withstand the elements and can add a touch of sophistication to your outdoor living areas.
Finally, consider giving your fireplace a facelift with mosaic tiles. A tiled surround can turn a boring fireplace into a stunning centerpiece, making a big impact in your living room with a relatively small investment.
The DIY Route vs. The Professional Touch
For the handy homeowner, installing mosaic tiles can be a rewarding DIY project. Many ceramic tile shops offer DIY-friendly options, such as mosaic sheets that make installation easier. The process involves preparing the surface, planning your layout, applying adhesive, placing the tiles, grouting, and finally cleaning and sealing.
However, if you're not confident in your DIY skills or you're dealing with a large or complex project, hiring a professional can ensure a flawless finish. Many ceramic tile shops can recommend reputable installers in your area. According to HomeAdvisor, the average cost to install mosaic tiles ranges from $10 to $30 per square foot, including materials and labor. While this might seem steep, remember that quality installation can significantly impact the value added to your home.
Maintaining Your Mosaic Masterpiece
To keep your mosaic tiles looking their best and maintain your property's value, regular maintenance is key. Think of it as caring for a work of art - which, in essence, it is. Clean your tiles regularly with a pH-neutral cleaner, avoiding harsh chemicals that can damage the tiles or grout. Reseal grout lines annually to prevent staining and moisture penetration. And if you notice any loose or damaged tiles, address them promptly to prevent further issues.
The ROI of Mosaic Tiles
While the upfront cost of mosaic tiles might be higher than some alternatives, the return on investment can be substantial. A study by Remodeling Magazine found that minor kitchen remodels, which often include new tile work, can recoup up to 80% of their cost at resale.
Moreover, homes with unique, high-quality features like custom mosaic tile work tend to sell faster. In a competitive real estate market, these distinctive touches can give your property a significant edge. It's not just about the monetary value - it's about creating a home that stands out in potential buyers' minds.
Eco-Friendly Options and Current Trends
For the environmentally conscious homeowner, many ceramic tile shops now offer eco-friendly mosaic tile options. These can include recycled glass tiles, tiles made from sustainable materials like bamboo or cork, or locally sourced stone tiles to reduce transportation emissions. Using sustainable materials not only adds value to your home but also appeals to the growing market of eco-conscious buyers.
As for current trends, geometric patterns are having a moment, as are neutral color palettes with pops of bold color. Large-format mosaic designs are gaining popularity, and metallic and iridescent finishes are adding a touch of glamour to many homes. Staying current with these trends can help ensure your home feels modern and appealing to potential buyers.
Conclusion: Small Tiles, Big Value
From ancient art form to modern design staple, mosaic tiles have stood the test of time. Their versatility, durability, and sheer beauty make them an excellent choice for homeowners looking to add value to their property.
Whether you're planning a major renovation or just want to update a small area, mosaic tiles offer endless possibilities. With careful selection from your ceramic tile shop and proper installation, these tiny pieces of art can have a big impact on your home's value and appeal.
Remember, the key to success with mosaic tiles is quality - in materials, design, and installation. So take your time, plan carefully, and don't be afraid to seek professional help if needed. The result will be a beautiful, valuable addition to your home that you'll enjoy for years to come. After all, in the world of home improvement, sometimes the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
