Troubleshooting Common Egress Window Installation Issues in North Dakota
Installing egress windows is a crucial home improvement project that enhances safety and livability, especially in North Dakota’s unique climate. However, like any major installation, issues can arise. Understanding and addressing common problems can ensure a successful installation and long-lasting performance. This blog provides a guide to troubleshooting common egress window installation issues in North Dakota, helping homeowners and contractors navigate challenges effectively.
1. Frozen Ground and Excavation Challenges
Issue: Frozen ground can make excavation difficult, delaying the egress windows installation in North Dakotau process and potentially impacting the quality of the work.
Solutions:
Plan Ahead: Schedule installation during a milder period if possible. Planning around seasonal weather can help avoid complications.
Use Specialized Equipment: Contractors can use heated excavation equipment or tools designed for breaking through frozen soil. This ensures that excavation can be completed efficiently even in winter conditions.
Pre-Treat the Ground: Applying de-icing agents or using ground heaters to thaw the soil before excavation can help manage frozen ground issues.
2. Improper Window Sizing
Issue: Egress windows installation in North Dakota that are not properly sized according to local building codes can lead to non-compliance and safety issues.
Solutions:
Double-Check Measurements: Ensure that the window dimensions meet the minimum requirements of 5.7 square feet for net clear opening, with a minimum width of 20 inches and height of 24 inches.
Work with Professionals: Hire a contractor with experience in egress window installations who is familiar with North Dakota’s building codes. Proper planning and measurement will help avoid sizing issues.
Use Quality Products: Choose high-quality window units that are designed to meet code requirements and are suitable for the specific installation conditions.
3. Water Infiltration and Drainage Problems
Issue: Poor drainage around Egress Windows Installation In North Dakota can lead to water infiltration, which can cause damage and compromise the window’s effectiveness.
Solutions:
Ensure Proper Drainage: Install a window well with adequate drainage to prevent water accumulation. Ensure that the well is designed to channel water away from the window and foundation.
Seal Properly: Use high-quality sealants to create a watertight seal around the window. Regularly inspect and maintain the seals to prevent leaks.
Maintain the Well: Keep the window well clear of debris and ensure that any drainage systems are functioning properly to prevent water from pooling.
4. Incorrect Installation of Window Wells
Issue: Window wells that are not properly installed can lead to safety hazards and reduced functionality of the egress window.
Solutions:
Follow Manufacturer Instructions: Ensure that the window well is installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications, including depth, width, and any required safety features such as ladders or grates.
Check for Proper Fit: The window well should fit snugly around the egress window without gaps. Proper installation ensures that the well provides an effective escape route and complies with safety standards.
Inspect Regularly: Regularly check the window well for signs of wear or damage, and address any issues promptly to maintain safety and functionality.
5. Energy Efficiency Issues
Issue: Egress windows that are not properly insulated can lead to energy loss and increased heating or cooling costs.
Solutions:
Use Energy-Efficient Windows: Choose windows with high-performance glazing and proper insulation to minimize energy loss. Features such as Low-E coatings and double or triple-pane glass can enhance energy efficiency.
Seal Gaps: Ensure that all gaps between the window frame and the wall are properly sealed with insulation and weatherproofing materials.
Inspect for Drafts: Regularly check for drafts around the egress windows and address any issues with additional sealing or insulation as needed.
6. Aesthetic and Design Integration
Issue: Egress windows that do not integrate well with the home’s design can impact the overall appearance and value of the property.
Solutions:
Choose Complementary Designs: Select egress windows and window wells that complement the home’s architectural style and exterior finishes. Work with a contractor or designer to ensure a cohesive look.
Incorporate Landscaping: Use landscaping elements such as decorative rocks or plants around the window well to enhance visual appeal while maintaining functionality.
Coordinate Interior Finishes: Ensure that the interior finishes around the egress window, such as trim and window treatments, match the overall design of the room.
7. Compliance with Building Codes
Issue: Failure to comply with local building codes can lead to legal issues, potential fines, and safety hazards.
Solutions:
Understand Local Codes: Familiarize yourself with North Dakota’s building codes for egress windows or work with a contractor who has experience with local regulations.
Obtain Necessary Permits: Ensure that all required permits are obtained before beginning the installation process. Proper documentation and approvals help ensure compliance.
Schedule Inspections: Arrange for inspections by local building authorities to verify that the installation meets all code requirements and safety standards.
Conclusion
Troubleshooting common egress window installation issues in North Dakota involves understanding potential challenges and implementing effective solutions. By addressing problems such as frozen ground, improper sizing, water infiltration, and energy efficiency issues, homeowners and contractors can ensure a successful installation that enhances safety, functionality, and property value. Working with experienced professionals, following best practices, and adhering to local building codes will help achieve a high-quality egress window installation that meets all requirements and contributes positively to your home.

═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Chris is normally a very patient man. He never rushes things, always preferring to take his time in everything he does. He’s always been able to keep his cool, even when things get… a little hairy. As a werewolf, he’s gotten pretty good at controlling his urges as well.
Chris can recall the exact moment everything changed. He can trace his werewolf lineage back to the Joseon period. He is descended from werewolves. There was no camping trip or fateful night where he was stalked and bitten or mauled by some wolf-man beast.
He was born with his condition, the bloodline being passed down from father to son. The women in the family carried the gene but it was only dominant in males. Only males experienced the Change. Chris was around 11 or 12 when it first happened. He was sitting with some friends, playing video games in the basement when it happened.
He remembered the fever, the sweating, his vision blurring, and then everything went black. When he came to, it was the next morning and he was lying in bed, a cool towel on his forehead and the sun creeping into the room via his window. His mother, who had come to check on him and found him awake, called his father in and the both of them sat down and explained to Chris what was going on.
He was a werewolf. Of course, Chris didn’t understand but as the days turned into weeks, he started to notice the Change even more. His first full moon was approaching and he needed to prepare himself. He started to crave raw meat which his mother was able to provide in the form of rare steak. Chris had never eaten his steaks rare before that point.
Most of the changes were subtle and manageable. The big one was unavoidable. Chris’ first transformation was excruciating but he somehow managed to make it through to the morning and his father told him he had a month to recuperate before it happened again. Chris had hoped that was the end of the surprises but as he got closer to his second full moon, the heat started.
His father had mentioned it but the effects still caught him off guard. He was still only in the beginning stages of puberty so Chris still had a lot to learn about his own anatomy as well as his wolf side. His father assured him everything he was feeling was normal. Every male in the family had gone through this at some point in their lives.
As Chris got older, he was able to manage the changes but the one he still couldn’t seem to overcome other than his transformations was the heat. The intense arousal that seemed to take over all other senses. From sunup to sundown the entire week before his transformations. The urge to fuck anything with a pulse that smelled even remotely attractive.
It was agonizing.
It was worse when he started dating. Once a month, he had to close himself off from his girlfriend for a week. Most of his relationships ended because his partner couldn’t understand and how was he supposed to explain it? How could he explain that he was a werewolf? They’d laugh at him and call him crazy. No one other than his family would understand.
Or so he thought.
Chris was in college when he met you his sophomore year in his economics class. You’d come to class only a moment before the bell rang and despite plenty of seats to choose from, you picked the one next to him. Chris had tried to focus on the lecture but your perfume was enticing. He was close to his heat that day and having such a warm body that smelled as alluring as you did was a horrible combination for him.
He had missed a week of classes after that, emailing his professor who was all too aware of Chris’ nature and understood. Chris’ heat was more intense than any he’d experienced before and he couldn’t keep images of you, the sweet girl who sat next to him once, out of his mind. He hated himself for fantasizing about you, when he didn’t even know your name.
When he returned to class, you were there, in the same spot you’d been before. Chris took his seat in a different spot in an effort to avoid having to look at you for the week’s worth of shame he felt. After the lecture, Chris had hurried out of class to make way to the fitness center for his break between classes until he felt a gentle hand on his arm.
Turning around, he was met with the sight of your smiling face and enchanting scent. ‘Fuck.’
You explained how you noticed he was gone and took notes for him just in case he was sick and then proceeded to hand over a folder full of detailed notes from lectures for the entire week he missed. To say he was shocked was an understatement. Here was a girl who didn’t know his name and she managed to take not only her own notes and complete her own assignments but she took time out of each day to copy her own notes to give to him.
Who did that? Chris was a flabbergasted mess, blushing profusely as he tried to decline your more than generous offer but you didn’t take no for an answer. It was the start of something Chris would come to cherish more than anything else. An unlikely friendship.
Sophomore year at university ended and summer break came. Chris went home to visit his family but kept in touch with you. He wasn’t sure if things would remain the same come junior year but he was pleasantly surprised to walk into his first class of the semester to find you already seated towards the back and pulling out your laptop.
That year was full of study dates at the student cafe, attending football games and cheering for the other team since your university’s team sucked. The holidays brought with it snow and Chris decided to invite you to spend Christmas with his family after he learned yours was going overseas until after the New Year. The drive to Chris’ family home proved difficult as it was only a few days before his heat.
That was the year the truth came out. Chris finally told you everything. He was ashamed but you surprised him even more by accepting him and reminding him that there are some things he can’t control. Chris knew right then that you were going to be a constant in his life. He leaned more on you after that, feeling grateful for the little things you did for him.
Your bond and friendship was made stronger for it.
After graduating, Chris landed a job in the city and was excited when you said you’d be joining him. You both went apartment hunting, agreeing that sharing an apartment was more cost effective than getting two separate places. You both found the perfect one close to both your jobs and quickly settled into a routine. The real challenge came when Chris’ first heat rolled around.
He had a much harder time controlling his urges when you were constantly around and so for the first year, you would spend a week in a hotel but soon that proved to be more than your budget would allow. You were lucky to meet someone at work, a female coworker who understood more than anyone else since her own brother was also a werewolf and she had the room to let you stay for a week.
This had been your routine for the last three years.
“You got everything?” Chris called as you carried your bags out of your room and into the living room where he was sitting on the couch, playing a racing game, his headset resting around his neck. “Yeah,” you replied breathlessly. Chris paused the game and tilted his head back to look at you standing behind him. “You sure?” he asked.
It wasn’t unlike you to forget things and Chris knew this. There were more than a handful of times you’d left for work only to return a few minutes later because you forgot something. It was an endearing trait you had and Chris liked to tease you about it.
“Yes, dad,” you jokingly said, tousling his dark curls. The nickname was meant to be mocking and joking but it always made something stir in his stomach when you said it. Chris would never admit it, even if you were his best friend, but the thought of you calling him daddy lingered in his mind, even long after his heat had passed.
Likewise, you’d never admit it to him but you often thought about adding the extra syllable to the name, if only to see his reaction. Chris wasn’t aware of it but you knew all about his… inclination towards the title. He’d let it slip one night while you were drinking at home, celebrating a promotion with a couple bottles of wine.
[flashback]
“It’s not that bad!” you said in protest as Chris laughed harder, cheeks red from both the action and from the alcohol. “Honestly?” he asked, his laughter subsiding for only a moment. You nodded, your own cheeks warm. “Then it’s not really a degradation kink, is it?” Chris asked.
“It is! But it also feeds into my praise kink,” you said, your filter long gone as you raised your half empty bottle of wine to your lips. It was your second one and both you and Chris had agreed to forego the glasses, opting to drink straight from the bottles.
Chris’ laughter started up again. “Praise kink? Like ‘ oh wow, good job sucking dick?’” he asked through laughs. You narrowed your eyes. “No,” you retorted. “It’s more like ‘you’re doing so well,’ or ‘you take me so well,’” you explained. Chris cocked his head. “So if I were to call you a ‘good little slut’ that would do it for you?”
His question was meant to be curious but you couldn’t control the way your walls clenched around nothing. ‘Shit,’ you thought to yourself as you felt your core heat up, knowing it wasn’t entirely the alcohol’s fault.
There was no denying that your best friend was hot. He’d been hitting the gym since before you met and had probably one of the best bodies you’d ever seen. He was insanely attractive with his strong biceps, muscular thighs and well formed ass. The term cake didn’t even begin to cover it with Chris.
Not to mention those dark curls and dimples that had you weak the moment you met him all those years ago in college. You’d been smitten with him long before even learning his name. And as time went on, you just fell deeper and deeper in love with your best friend.
You couldn’t help it. He was everything you wanted in a man. He ticked every box on your list. He was attractive, funny, smart, kind, and he made you feel safe and secure. He gave the best hugs and he was the clingiest person you’d ever met but you wouldn’t change a single thing about him. Not even the werewolf side of him and the heat that kicked you out once a week.
“Yeah,” you said finally, grabbing the bottle of wine from him and taking a swig. Chris chuckled, shaking his head. “Ah, it’s not that bad,” he replied. “I like being called daddy so, who’s the real weirdo here?”
You froze mid sip, swallowing the wine thickly before your eyes settled on Chris who glanced back at you. “Daddy? Really?” you asked softly. He nodded as he reached for the bottle which you handed to him without a second thought. “Yeah. Weird, right?” he asked before taking a sip.
You leaned in, one hand resting on the back of the couch as you looked up into his face.
“Oh not at all,” you started as he brought the bottle down, resting it on his thigh. “Daddy.”
Chris’ eyes snapped up to meet yours, darkening slightly when he noticed the smirk on your face. The two of you stared at one another before he shook his head. “Don’t play with me,” he said, his voice thick.
“You’re playing with fire.”
[present day]
The topic changed quickly after that and the next morning you woke with a headache and the knowledge that your best friend had a daddy kink. He of course didn’t remember a thing. Not the sultry stare off or how you almost made the mistake of kissing him that night.
“When are you leaving?” Chris asked, pulling you from your thoughts of the past. He’d taken your hand from his hair and was inspecting your palm, gently running the tips of his fingers over your skin. Something that normally calmed you down but with the memory fresh in your mind, it was having another effect on you entirely.
“Kara should be here soon,” you replied, gently pulling your hand from his grip and picking up your bags to move them towards the door. Chris said nothing, instead looking at the tv.
He’d never admit it but he had half a mind to ask you not to go. To instead ask you to stay but he knew if you stayed, he’d be unable to control his urges.
For the last year, he’d been having very intense fantasies about pinning you against the nearest surface and fucking you. Even worse, he had vivid fantasies of breeding you. About fucking you raw, knotting your warm cunt, and filling it with his hot cum.
The thought of his cock buried deep inside your walls as he emptied his balls and then his cock swelling so none of it could escape occupied his mind most of the time when his heat approached. The wolf in him wanted nothing more than to breed you, turn you into his little cum dumpster and pump you full of his cum, hoping it would take and get you pregnant.
Chris knew it was his animalistic instincts, wanting to mate and continue the bloodline. He’d been able to control these urges for the most part. He still masturbated to the thought of breeding you, hiding his shame for a few days. He knew it was wrong to fantasize about you like that but he also knew he couldn’t control what the wolf thought but he could control what he did physically.
“Now you’re sure you have everything?” he asked. You nodded, looking down at your bags. “I’m sure,” you replied. A buzzing interrupted you and you gave your roommate a sheepish smile, moving to answer the intercom. “Come on up,” you said, pressing the button when Kara identified herself.
Chris got up and walked over to the door. It only took a couple minutes for Kara to reach the door, knocking when she did. You opened it and smiled at her, having just finished putting your shoes on. “Hey,” you greeted your coworker who smiled back.
“All ready?” Kara asked. Chris watched as you nodded and started to lift your bags. Kara taking a couple of them. “I’ll see you in about a week,” you said, turning to Chris who stepped down into the entry, hands in his pockets.
“There’s leftovers in the fridge, just reheat them. Do not cook,” you instructed and Chris rolled his eyes. “You act like I can’t cook,” he mused and you raised your brows. “Have you eaten anything you’ve ever made?” you asked, jokingly. Chris nudged you playfully.
“Make sure to drink water and please do not destroy anything,” you said, holding your hands together in a silent prayer. Chris rolled his eyes, pulling his hands from his pockets and pulled you into a hug, burying his face in your shoulder. “I’ll be fine,” he muttered.
Chris inhaled slowly. He loved the scent of your perfume. It was a scent he’d grown very fond of. His arms tightened around you. He didn’t want to let go. He didn’t want you to leave. He wanted you to stay but you both knew if you did, he might not be able to control himself.
“See you in a week,” you said softly, giving him a small squeeze. Chris reluctantly let go of you, forcing a smile when you pulled back to look at him. “Take care of her,” he said to Kara who sent him a sympathetic smile. “Of course,” she answered. “You take care of yourself too,” she added.
You grabbed the last bag, slinging it over your shoulder and looked back at Chris one last time, giving him an apologetic smile. He waved as you crossed the threshold into the hall and just like that you were gone for a week.
Another week of an empty apartment. Another week of hell without you.
Chris returned to his game, his heart not really in it as he half-assed his way through the campaign before logging off and shutting the tv down. He went to his room to try and get some work done but found that he couldn’t focus.
He was getting restless and he knew one of two things that could help.
He changed into some of his workout gear, grabbing his headphones, phone, and water bottle, and exited the apartment to head to the building’s gym. He usually could push through an hour workout and it usually managed to take the edge off.
He followed his usual routine, stretching, some light cardio followed by weights and then a walk to cool down. As he was on his walk, the door to the gym opened and another tenant came in. Chris had seen her before. She lived on the fourteenth floor. She had recently changed her hair from blonde to a medium brown with highlights. She had her hair pulled up into a ponytail and was dressed in a black sports bra and black leggings.
She looked up to where Chris was, smiling shyly at him as she made her way over to one of the bicycle machines. Chris returned the smile and looked down at the machine controls. He had about ten minutes left on his walk and then he could hit the showers and head back to his apartment and it would be dinner time.
He tried not to notice the scent of the other tenant’s perfume or the way he could smell  sweat starting to permeate the air. He closed his eyes, keeping his hands on the rails as he walked, willing time to move faster. ‘Eight minutes,’ he told himself, peeking at the timer.
He looked up and made eye contact with the woman who had gotten off the bicycle to fill her bottle. She was looking directly at him and Chris couldn’t control the way his body reacted. Heat radiated throughout his body, settling in the pit of his stomach, his dick twitching in his pants.
‘Come on,’ he scolded himself. ‘She’s looking at you. It’s not like she’s flirting. Calm the fuck down.’
Chris looked back up, finding she was still staring at him. ‘Shit.’ He glanced at the timer and saw he had five minutes left. ‘Fuck this. I’m done anyway,’ he told himself as he pushed the stop button. He couldn’t risk popping a boner in the gym simply because a woman looked at him.
He’d shower back at the apartment.
He sprayed a paper towel and quickly wiped down the machine before grabbing his things and heading for the door. He pushed open the door and exited quickly, heading to the elevator and pressing the call button. He waited, shifting from one foot to the other.
He could hear footsteps, and silently prayed for the elevator to arrive sooner. He let out a breath he forgot he was holding as the doors dinged and opened. He stepped into the small room, waving his card over the reader and pressing the button for his floor.
As the doors started to close, a hand shot out to stop them and Chris internally cursed as the woman stepped onto the elevator. He forced a smile, moving into the corner as she waved her card, pressing the button for the fourteenth floor.
The door slowly slid shut, closing them both in and Chris stared at the counter above the doors, ignoring the woman completely. Her floor would come before his. He just had to be patient.
“Hey,” a soft voice said and Chris knew she was speaking to him. He turned his head to find her looking at him. “Hi,” he replied. “I’ve seen you around a few times,” she said, a smile spreading across her face. Chris nodded. “I’ve lived here for a few years,” he admitted.
‘Come on, come on,’ he thought impatiently as the counter continued to rise. “I’m new to the area,” she said suddenly. “Are you from around here?” she asked. Chris nodded wordlessly, keeping his gaze on the numbers over the elevator doors.
“Maybe you could show me around some time,” she offered, moving closer. ‘Fuck,’ he cursed mentally. She was close enough that he could smell the arousal wafting off her. ‘No, no, no,’ he told himself. The moment her hand touched his arm, Chris jumped just as the doors opened on the thirteenth floor.
‘Fuck this’ he thought and pushed past as someone else stepped onto the elevator and he walked down the hall, heading for the stairwell. He’d rather walk than be trapped in a steel box with a horny woman this close to his heat.
Once he finally reached his floor, he made sure the floor was deserted as he headed for the door, letting himself in. He could breathe easily as he kicked his shoes off and headed past the kitchen, dropping his  water bottle on the counter as he headed for his room.
He stripped and got into the shower, turning the water on, letting the stream heat up and wash his body. Once he was done showering, he got out, dressed and sat down at his computer, putting his headset on and turning on some music and getting a headstart on some work.
When his stomach growled, he cursed, pulling his headphones off and got up, exiting his room and making his way into the kitchen. He grabbed one of the glass containers from the fridge and pulled it out to inspect it. ‘Lasagna,’ he noted with a smile as he took the lid off and scooped the contents out onto a plate to heat it up.
Once the food was hot, he carefully pulled the plate out and took a seat at the kitchen counter, grabbing a fork as he did and started to eat. He was eternally grateful for you, making food for him when you left for a week. It wasn’t that he couldn’t cook, he could. He just preferred it when you did.
As he chewed, he wondered what you were up to with Kara. Were you eating dinner as well?
“I can’t believe he still thinks you’re a lesbian,” Kara said, giggling as you took a sip of your wine. “I’ve told him numerous times I’m not,” you replied. “I don’t understand why he still thinks that.”
Kara shook her head. “Who knows,” she replied, glancing down at her empty glass. “Oh, time for a refill!”
She got up, waiting for you to down the rest of your wine and took your empty glass to the kitchen to refill them both. The two of you had ordered pizza, neither one of you wanted to cook, especially after you had cooked an entire week's worth of meals for Chris.
“What do you think Chris is up to?” Kara asked, pulling you out of your thoughts. “Oh, he’s probably playing video games,” you replied as Kara poured your favorite wine into your glass and placed the bottle back in the fridge. She walked back over with both glasses, handing yours over as she took a seat.
“So,” she started, taking a sip of her wine. “Let me see this presentation,” she added and you set your glass down, rushing over to your laptop bag and pulling it out, moving back to sit on the couch, setting your laptop on the coffee table.
Kara continued sipping on her wine as you opened your laptop and logged on. You signed into and pulled up the presentation powerpoint you’d been working on all week for Monday’s meeting. It wasn’t anything fancy but you were pretty proud of it.
Kara looked over it, complimenting your skills and work, making small comments on certain parts. “I really like this,” she said, pointing at one of the slides. “You really made a good point here.” You felt pride swell in your chest until your laptop dinged, a small notification indicating your battery was low.
“I swear, the battery on this thing dies so fast,” you groaned as you got up and headed over to your bag to grab the charger. You unzipped the pocket only to find your charger wasn’t there. “What the…” you trailed off, starting to check all the pockets of your laptop bag but no charger in sight.
“What’s wrong?” Kara asked. “I can’t find my charger,” you replied. “Did you bring it?” Kara asked, getting up from her seat and walking over. “I thought I did,” you replied, feeling annoyed and angry with yourself for forgetting when Chris had asked you multiple times if you had everything.
“You can use mine,” Kara said but you shook your head. “You have a Macbook,” you reminded her. “This is an HP.” Kara swore under her breath. “I gotta go back home,” you said softly. Kara looked up at you. “Are you sure?” she asked. You nodded.
“I need that charger,” you answered. “Especially if I’m gonna be here for a week.” Kara nodded and got up. “I’ll drive you,” she said and you shook your head. “You’ve had like a whole bottle,” you reminded her. “I’ve only had a glass. I’ll drive. You stay here. I’m just gonna run back and get it and then I’ll be back.” Kara nodded as she grabbed her keys and handed them to you.
“Be careful,” she said as you grabbed your purse, making sure you had your phone. You headed to the door, slipping your shoes and coat on. “I’ll be back in a bit,” you called and exited her apartment, making your way to the elevator and pushing the button.
You fished your phone out of your purse, opened Chris’ message thread and sent him a text.
You: i did what i said i wouldn’t. I forgot my laptop charger 💀
You: i’m on my way back to get it.
You: i’ll be quick. Just in and out
Placing your phone back in your purse, you stepped onto the elevator, pushing the button for the garage and waited as the doors shut and the lift descended, heading for the basement. You found Kara’s car, unlocking it and getting in.
The drive to your apartment didn’t take long and you pulled into the designated parking space in your garage, parking and shutting off the engine. You got out, leaving your purse in the car and locking it. ‘In and out, Y/N,’ you reminded yourself as you headed for the elevator.
The ride up to your floor was quiet, the sun had set and most people were already out enjoying the Friday nightlife. The elevator dinged, doors opening as it arrived on your floor and you stepped off the lift, heading for your apartment door.
You unlocked it, letting yourself in. You expected to see Chris but didn’t see him perched on the couch playing games. ‘Maybe he’s in his room,’ you told yourself as you walked through the apartment and to your room.
Turning on the light, you saw the culprit lying innocently on your desk and you glared at it, walking over to grab it and headed towards the door. As you exited your room, you heard Chris call out.
You turned the knob and looked into his room. “I thought I heard you, he said with a chuckle. “I sent you a text,” you answered, peering into his room. He was sitting at his computer, headphones hanging around his neck as he finished whatever he was working on.
“Forget something?” he asked, sounding amused at your forgetfulness. You nodded. “Yeah,” you replied. “I forgot my laptop charger,” you answered. Chris turned to look at you. “It’s always something,” he joked and you smiled sheepishly.
“Sorry,” you said, chuckling. “I’d forget my head if it wasn’t attached.” Chris smiled as he removed his headphones from around his neck, looking over at you. “It’s fine,” he said softly, moving to get up. You pushed the door open further as he approached you. “Do you need anything before I leave?” you asked.
Chris opened his mouth to respond but a sudden strong smell hit him. It was like someone had opened a bottle of vanilla extract and placed it under his nose. He knew that smell all too well. It made every nerve in his body burn. It made his pupils enlarge, his throat burn, and an intense heat form in the pit of his stomach. Lust and desire burned, the line blurring into the primal need to mate.
You hadn’t been careful enough. Neither of you had but then again this had never happened before. How didn't this come up? How hadn’t this happened before? Three years living together and this had never, ever happened? Either you were very lucky or you were always away when it happened.
Chris’ fingers curled into his palm, knuckles turning white as his nails dug into his skin in an attempt to ground himself but what normally worked had never been tested in this situation before.
Chris was about to start his heat and you… you were ovulating.
You watched as your best friend froze. “Chris?” you asked softly. You were surprised when he looked at you, his eyes darkening. “You need to leave,” he said, his voice low and dangerously so. “Chris? What’s wrong?” you asked, taking a step forward.
“Don’t!” your best friend growled. You froze, eyes widening. He’d never spoken to you like that before. “Chris you’re starting to worry me, what’s wr—” before you could finish your question, your best friend had closed the distance and grabbed you, pinning you against the wall next to the door.
“Chris!” you gasped, hands moving to his shoulders, gripping his shirt. “What’s gotten into you?”
His heat was close but it wasn’t supposed to start yet. He’d always been good about controlling his urges so what was different this time?
“I’m sorry,” Chris said softly, his head drooping as he struggled against his own urges. “This has never happened before.” You tried to push him away but he was much stronger than you were. “Why are you acting like this? You’ve always had a hold of yourself,” you continued. “You’re ovulating,” Chris interrupted. Your eyes widened.
“H-how did you know?”
Chris chuckled dryly. “I can smell it,” he answered. One of his hands moved up to your cheek as he raised his head. “I can smell it and it’s driving me crazy,” he continued. You felt one of his knees wedge between your thighs, pressing against your core. “It’s making me want to do things to you.”
You felt a shiver run up your spine. ‘Do things? What kind of things?’
“L-like what?” you whispered, swallowing thickly.
Chris leaned in, nuzzling against your cheek as his lips ghosted over your skin, stopping near your ear. “Would you be mad if I said exactly what I wanted to do to you?” he asked softly. You shook your head. Though you wouldn’t say it, you welcomed it, wondering just what was going on in his head.
“Tell me,” you replied.
You felt Chris nuzzle into your neck, sniffing eagerly. “I want to rip those cute lace panties of yours and stuff that sweet little pussy with my cock.” As if punctuating his words, Chris leaned in, pressing his thigh more firmly against your core.
You let out an involuntary whimper, causing him to groan in your ear. “I want to…” he trailed off. “No, I need to pin you down on the bed,” he said, making you gasp as he pressed his thigh even harder against you.
“Pin you down and fuck you until I fill you with so much cum. I need to breed you.,” he continued, lips ghosting over your skin. “Breed you like you’re the one in heat.” You let out another gasp, feeling one of his hands move to grab your ass, sneaking under your skirt.
“And of course you had to wear a skirt, didn’t you?” he growled. “I bet you knew it would drive me crazy. That I’d be able to smell everything.” You moaned into his ear as his hand continued to knead your ass, nails digging into your flesh
“I’ll bet you planned this, didn’t you? I bet your laptop charger isn’t even here,” he scoffed as if it wasn’t lying on the floor in the hallway where you’d dropped it. “Chris,” you whined, moaning as his fingers dug into the flesh of your ass. “Oh shit,” he groaned.
“Say my name like that again,” he dared you. “Say that again, baby. Moan my name and I’ll take you right now.”
A thick silence fell over the two of you as Chris pulled back, eyes searching your face, neither one speaking nor making a move until you finally cleared your throat and spoke. “Chris, we can’t,” you started, looking between his eyes. “W-we’re friends,” you added, letting out a yelp as Chris quickly backed up to create enough space to turn you around to face the wall before pinning you against it, pressing his erection into your back.
“You feel that?” he asked, grinding against you. “You feel what you do to me? What you’ve been doing to me since that first day in economics?” he asked. “I’ve wanted you ever since you sat next to me. Wanted to fuck you raw and pump you full.”
“We’re not just friends and you fucking know it,” he growled in your ear. Moaning, you pushed back against him, earning another deep growl.
“Don’t play with me,” he snapped. “I’m not playing…” you trailed off. “Daddy.” The name caused a chain reaction. Chris wrapped an arm around your waist from behind, lifting you easily and carrying you over to his bed where he deposited you face down.
You tried to turn over but he was quick to stop you, pushing your skirt up to expose your lace covered core. He quickly grabbed the material and tugged, ripping it easily. “Chris!” you gasped but the next second you were crying out as he landed a slap to your ass.
“Don’t speak until I tell you to,” he growled. You felt his fingers glide up and down your slit, gathering your arousal before pushing into your cunt. You let out a groan as he started to slowly pump his fingers before removing them. “Chest to the bed,” Chris instructed. “But keep your ass up.”
You did as he said, lowering your shoulders until your chest rested against the mattress. In that time, Chris removed his hat, tossing it aside as he knelt on the mattress behind you, hands grabbing your hips. He leaned closer, taking a deep inhale. “Fuck, I’m gonna ruin this pussy,” he growled. His tongue ran along your slit, from your clit up and back down, toying with the bundle of nerves, his nose bumping against your entrance.
Your fingers dug into the sheets as you moaned, pushing back against his face. Chris pulled back delivering a sharp smack to your thigh. “Hold still,” he barked. “Do that again and I’ll fuck your hole and not let you cum.”
You whined, wiggling your hips in a silent plea for more. Chris pushed you onto your side before flipping you onto your back, grabbing your hips and pulling your core to his face, burying it in your pussy, tongue ravishing your clit. Your thighs tried closing but Chris wrapped his arms around your thighs, holding them open as he licked at and sucked on your clit, drawing you closer to your climax.
“Shit, Chris!” you gasped, your hand moving to comb through his curls.
“M’gonna cum.”
Chris didn’t relent, flicking his tongue against your clit until you came undone under him, crying out as your orgasm crashed over you. You tried to shy away from his mouth but he held you still, never stopping as he drew you to another orgasm.
As you came down from the second, he finally let go of your thighs, pulling back to wipe his chin and taking ahold of the collar of his shirt and yanking it off over his head, tossing it aside. “I want you to ride my tongue but it’ll have to wait,” he said in a husky voice as his hands moved to undo his jeans, unbuckling but not removing his belt before unbuttoning and pulling down the zipper of his pants.
“Come here,” he said, holding out his hand and pulling you up when you took it. “Open your mouth,” he added as he pushed his jeans down around his thighs. You did as he asked, keeping your gaze on his face as he pulled his erection free from the confines of his underwear.
“Keep your mouth open for me,” he added, taking his cock in his hand, giving himself a couple strokes before guiding the tip past your lips, the weight heavy on your tongue. His free hand moved to your hair, taking a fistful and guiding your head. “Get to work, baby girl,” he murmured.
“Show daddy how you use your mouth.”
Your scalp stung, eyes watered and your throat hurt by the time Chris finally pulled your mouth off him. He’d forced his cock down your throat more than once and even fucked your throat a few times, making you gag. What little makeup you had on was ruined, tear stained cheeks and swollen lips but to Chris you were stunning.
“Lay back for me,” he ordered, discarding his pants and underwear, watching as you pulled your top off and threw it aside, scooting into the middle of his bed. Chris crawled over you, taking your lips in a searing kiss as his hands pushed your knees apart to accommodate him.
Your hands moved to his hair as he guided the head of his cock to your dripping entrance, pulling back just enough to make eye contact. “I want to watch your face as I enter you,” he growled. “Watch your eyes roll back into your head as I fill you with my cock.”
You moaned loudly as he pushed into you, stretching your cunt with his girth, inch by inch until he was buried inside your walls, groaning about the warmth and how tight you felt. It was taking all his strength to not start slamming into you immediately.
“I’m gonna give you a few minutes to adjust and then I’m gonna hold you down against this mattress and fuck you until you cum,” he gave you a shallow thrust, enjoying the gasp that escaped you. “And then I’m going to flip you over, ass up and fuck you until I cum and fill this pussy. You understand me?”
You nodded silently but that wasn’t good enough for him. Chris grabbed your face. “When I ask you a question, you answer me with your words. Don’t make me say it again.”
“Yes,” you answered quickly. “Yes, what?” he asked, tilting his head. “Yes, daddy,” you whispered. Chris let go and smirked down at you. “Good girl.”
No sooner than the words left his lips, his hands were on your hips, holding them in place as he started to pull out and snap his hips against yours, driving his cock into your cunt repeatedly. Your thighs tightened around his waist, prompting him to growl and halt his movements.
You were about to ask what the problem was when he took your ankles and placed your legs over his shoulders. The new position allowed you to feel more, moaning louder when he pounded into you harder. “Oh holy shit,” you gasped, feeling the head of his cock hit the soft gummy spot that had you seeing stars.
“Right there?” he asked, angling his hips and hitting the same spot, making you cry out.
He repeatedly hit the same spot over and over, moving his hand to rub circles against your clit with his thumb. “That’s it princess,” he huffed. “Cum all over daddy’s cock.” You let out a mewl, walls fluttering as you came. One of your hands moved to grab Chris’ wrist, trying to ground yourself as the aftershocks of your orgasm rolled over you.
With each pass over your clit with his thumb, Chris watched your body seize up and chuckled before pulling his cock from your abused hole.
He quickly turned you over, pulling your hips up and taking himself in his hand, stroking a couple times before pushing back into you. This position allowed for all of his cock to fit inside you, making you moan into the sheets, fingers curling into the fabric.
Chris took your hips in his hands, pulling out and snapping forward, his hips hitting your ass with each thrust. He set a relentless and merciless pace, grunting with effort as he slammed into you. The sheets muffled your cries and screams of pleasure as he allowed his animalistic urges to take over.
‘Breed. Breed. Breed,’ the beast in his mind said. Chris let out a low groan, almost like a growl as he pounded into you. Leaning over your back, he slammed his hips into you, burying his cock deep inside your walls before he started to roll his hips, earning a deep moan from you.
“Once I’m done with you,” he panted. “You aren’t going anywhere. You’ll stay here and I’m going to fuck you raw every night. Pump you full of cum and breed you. Fill you with so much cum it’ll have to take. Fuck you until I get you pregnant and then you’ll be mine.”
You moaned, walls clenching around his cock. You felt his hand in your hair, fingers curling into a fist before he pulled back, lifting your face from the sheets and allowing your moans to fill the room. “You want that, baby? You want daddy to turn you into his little breeding bitch?”
“Oh fuck, daddy yes!” you whimpered. “Please fill me!” Chris growled, letting go of your hair and moving his hand to your shoulder, pinning your chest down. You turned your head to the side, each thrust drawing a whimper from you.
“Daddy’s gonna fill you baby girl, cum inside you until it spills out and then I’ll just push it all back in,” he grunted. “Don’t want to waste a single drop.” Your hand moved to grab the wrist of his hand that was pressed against the mattress near your head.
“That’s right,” he groaned. “You’re mine. All mine and no one else’s.” You lifted your head, managing to turn and make eye contact with him. “I’ve always been yours, daddy,” you breathed. Chris growled, pressing his chest against your back and sinking his teeth into your shoulder.
You moaned, walls clenching around his cock as he rammed into you over and over. He lifted his head, lips close to your ear. “Mine,” he growled. “Mine, mine, mine!”
You pushed back to meet his thrusts and screamed as he slammed into you one last time, groaning into your ear as he came, releasing thick strands of hot cum into your cunt. You moaned as more and more cum spilled into your pussy. You had never known a man to have that much cum but then again, Chris wasn’t an ordinary man.
At the same time he was emptying his load into you, his cock started to swell inside, lodging itself in your walls. “Chris,” you whimpered. “What’s—” You heard him shush you, pressing kisses to your shoulder. “It’s okay,” he said reassuringly. “It’s normal. It’s my body’s way of ensuring it takes.”
“Ensuring what takes?”
Chris chuckled, his lips ghosting over your skin. “Ensuring my cum gets you pregnant,” he answered. You let out an uneasy chuckle. “And if it doesn’t take?” you replied. Chris hummed and pressed several more kisses against your shoulder before leaning in to whisper in your ear.
“I guess we’ll just have to keep trying then.”

Don't ask me why this matters so much to me but here are my Disco Elysium character apartment headcanons.
Harry: He has a second or third floor apartment what used to be a residential house. He has his own bathroom but there are some people in the building who have to share bathrooms. His apartment overlooks a liquor store where people line up in the morning to buy their first bottles. The shop has a neon sign that stays on all night and keeps Harry up with how bright it is. The lights are made more annoying by the fact that his blinds are broken and he has no curtains. Whoever installed his shower had to have been drunk because the knob for cold water gives him hot water and knob for hot gives him cold. He moved in after he and Dora broke up and he's decided he's going to die in that apartment.
Jean: He's got a basement apartment that receives no sunlight whatsoever. It's on a quiet side street but he does see people's feet going by his barred windows sometimes. His apartment is disgusting and he has a mouse who refuses to die no matter who many traps he puts out. He got the place really thinking that it would be a fresh start, a temporary stop onto bigger things but he got complacent. It just seems too hard to get a new place and he's dug in now. Any time he thinks about moving, calling up Judit or Harry to help him pack, he's overcome with anxiety about how terribly gross his apartment is. He's too busy and too sad to clean it.
Kim: He lives near the top of a eight story "high rise." The whole building runs on one radiator system that's centrally controlled and of course the heat rises to make his apartment sweltering in the middle of the winter. A very old grandmother lived in his apartment before he did so there are some lingering touches from her time there like floral wallpaper in the bathroom and some forgotten doilies that live in a kitchen drawer. The whole apartment is clean, functional, and organized. It's not quite a studio but there's not much differentiation between the spaces. He spends almost all of his time in the kitchen, not necessarily cooking, just sitting at the table reading or going over case files.

𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤'𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 | Emily Prentiss x Fem!reader
Warning(s): use of y/n, death of y/n, Emily having to witness it, implied SA, just sad overall
Word count: 2041
Characters: Emily Prentiss, Derek Morgan, Penelope Garcia, Jennifer Jareau, Aaron Hotchner, Spencer Reid
Summary: When you get captured by an unsub and your team finds out where you are, your lover and coworker, Emily Prentiss, seeks you out. Only she’s too late to save you.
Tumblr media
She blamed herself for not driving home with you the night the unsub took you from outside your shared apartment. The work she had done could've waited... and maybe you would've still been with her and your guys' team. "Emily, we might've got something." Derek informed from across the alley they had been in, where the unsub had dumped his last victim. 'Clock's ticking' was carved into the girl's abdomen, serving as a reminder of the time you had left alive was thinning. Desolately, she stared at this poor girl, just like she had the past two. Seeing the state she was in... she knew what their unsub had in store for you, and it made her want to scream- lash out; hurt somebody. Hurt Robert Delmont- the man who was hiding you.
Emily's gaze moved from the lifeless body to Derek, who rushed over with his phone extended. "Okay, talk to me baby." He eagerly spoke into the phone, examining his coworker's distraught expression as his own heart raced. "I found Robert's house. I narrowed down your area and used the information you guys provided- and I found it. 24 Newberg Road, you're about six minutes away."
Emily hadn't wasted a second before running towards her SUV; Derek on her tail replied: "Copy that, thanks Garcia."
"Godspeed, guys. Save our girl." Penelope spoke from the other end, ending the call to inform the rest of the team as Derek and Emily climbed in the car, speeding to the home you were being held in.
Faintly through the singular basement window, you could see flashing red and blue lights. Relief washed over you as tears fell down your cheeks. You struggled against the restraints you were held in, arms sore from being held in the same upwards position for these past 8 & 1/2 hours. You could hear the steel door creek open and shut as footsteps descending followed. Your relief left you as you met face to face with Robert, who rushed towards you, throwing a punch to your face. "They think they're going to save you."
Your lip was already busted, and you had cuts and bruises marking your whole body. He moved behind you, putting a blade up to your neck. Your breath hitched as he pulled your head back by your hair, whispering in your ear; "Time to prove them wrong."
-
Emily had already been out of the passenger's side before it came to a full stop, rushing inside the home. Derek followed after her, whisper-yelling for her to wait. She didn't oblige, rather rushed in anyway. In no way was she going to string out the little time you had left. She motioned for Derek to search upstairs, receiving a nod in return. They both should've waited for the rest of their team, but Emily already made it clear she couldn't wait, and Derek understood. This was personal... and time wasn't in their favor, if Robert was following his 10 hours spent with each victim.
Her heart was pounding as she neared every corner, pausing when she observed the steel door cracked open. While she should've retrieved Derek for backup, she went down instead, keeping her gun aimed ahead. The door shut behind her, leaving her in total darkness as it made a beeping noise. Only then did she realize that it had no handle on the inside, but that it needed a keycard, likely installed by the twisted killer who brought women down here, guaranteeing that escaping was out of the question. The air was cold and bitter down here, smelling of metal and mildew; agony so potent in the air. She breathed heavily, continuing her descent as she prepared for what laid ahead.
But nothing could've prepared her to meet face to face with you, strung up and beaten. So vulnerable and broken. A tang of pain struck her heart as she watched your face pinch, tears mixing with the crimson on your cheeks. The knife against your neck made her blood run cold as she aimed at the unsub. "Back away and drop the knife." Her voice came out firm as she remained at a safe distance, not wanting to push the Delmont man. "Ah, Emily Prentiss."
"I said back away and drop the-"
"I do that and you put me in prison, or I kill her and you kill me. Doesn't seem like a win-win situation, now does it?"
"Let her go." She ordered, unable to tell the man that she didn't want to shoot him. If anything, she wanted to torture him for the trauma he had inflicted on you. Make him feel every bit of pain you have felt- every bit of pain she had felt in the absence of you.
"I know how deeply you care for her... she's so... extravagant. I'd want her too. Well, I had her... that's for sure." He chuckled as you shut your eyes tightly. Her lip curled as her eyebrows furrowed, reminding herself of the oath she took for this job. An oath that she wished didn't exist in this very moment. "You son of a bitch."
"You want me to slit her throat right now? I will."
"You know what I want you to do. If you comply, we can negotiate-"
"We both know that's bullshit. Don't we?" He stated, turning to put his lips up to your ear at the last part. You tried to pull away, but he yanked your head back. Emily was panicking because she didn't have a clear shot of him. He was perfectly blocked by your shaking body, and you would be hit in order to get him, no matter the angle.
"You walk out those doors and leave, I'll spare her. Leave her for you to find in a couple days."
"I'm not negotiating this with you."
"I thought you wanted to negotiate? Don't you want her alive?" He started, tilting his head as he watched Emily's expression harden. "I can leave her lifeless if you'd prefer... yeah. Yeah that sounds better." Pounding came from the steel door upstairs as all three below heard Derek's shouts. "Clock's ticking." He grinned as Emily's body shivered, mouth opening to speak. "No. Times up." He finalized; In a swift motion, he sliced your neck open as you cried out. Her body stilled, though her reflexes didn't waste a second to shoot his withdrawn arm. He scampered to the side, clutching his arm as he rushed towards her. She was quicker, firing one final shot that knocked him down for good.
Her gaze moved back at you, watching the blood pour to the ground below your bowed head. "Y/n-" spit from her mouth as she rushed towards you, untying the ropes around your wrists, letting you fall into her arms. You were coughing on your own blood as she tried to turn you on your side, clearing your airway as she applied pressure to your open wound. "Stay with me my love, stay with me." She instructed, pushing the hair out of your face as you looked up at her.
Never had she felt fear like this before as her arms desperately pulled your shaking body closer to hers, trying to keep you curled into her like you would several nights spent together. She'd whisper how much she loved you as she held you dearly as she'd kiss your head, reminding you that in those moments, it was just you two. Not the job, not the world. You were each other's safe havens; the only light outside the dark they faced every day.
"I'm right here. I've got you, love. Stay with me." She spoke quickly, keeping pressure as crimson spilled over her fingers. You were struggling to breath, but you needed to speak; you knew you weren't leaving this basement, just like you knew she was denying that truth. It pained you to be aware of your fate when you had finally found the other half to your soul that spent every waking moment reminding you of what real love was. Slowly, your arm rested on her hand upon your neck, grasping it. Her broken eyes peered down at you as both of you could hear your other team members desperately trying to get through that godforsaken door, calling out your guys' names.
"They're going to get us out of here... and we're gonna get you to a hospital- you're gonna be okay. I- I'm right here." She insisted, clenching her jaw as she fought back the tears lining her waterline. If you saw her break, she was sure you would too. She needed to be strong, but all you needed in this moment was her. "Em-" You tried, unable to continue as blood poured from the corner of your mouth. "Don't try to talk honey-"
"Emily." You managed to get out, choking on your blood as her head slightly shook. "Lis-listen to me." Your hand squeezed hers as she tried to talk again. "You k-know what's going t-to happen."
"No."
"Emily-"
"No-"
"I'm not going to m-make it."
"No! No I don't accept that." She exclaimed, her head shaking vigorously as a sob slipped from her throat. "Em, please-" You tried, but she cut you off as tears now began to fall down her cheeks. "I can't- I can't accept that. I need you. I'm always going to need you." Her voice was utterly broken; already in denial, she couldn't stop shaking her head at you, pushing away the thoughts of what life would be like when she stepped outside of this house, knowing you weren't ever coming home with her.
"I love you s-" You had started, beginning to fade out of consciousness. Her eyes widened as she used her arm from under you to touch your face, pulling your body up to hers. "So much." You managed to finish, though your eyes were slowly shutting. Exhaustion wasn't even a comparable word to what you were feeling. When the pain started to fade, and you began to feel numb, you knew your time was up. "Hey- Stay with me y/n." She slightly shook you; your eyes weren't fully closed, but your eyelids were drooped. "Please stay with me." Her words were quiet, small. So much pain was laced in those four words as she felt the exact moment your life left your body.
Her body stilled as she pulled back to look at your face; eyelids were still drooped, but you were gone. Her jaw slowly slacked as she shook her head, removing her hand from your throat before placing it on your cheek, gently tilting your head at an angle where you would be able to see her. "No- no please!" Sobs were spilling from her lips as her chest heaved, thumb stroking your face delicately. "I need you-"
A loud, ground shaking bang came from the upstairs as she pulled your lifeless body up against her chest, cradling the back of your head over her shoulder as the other hand tightly held your bare waist. "Emily!" Derek's voice erupted from the stairway as several footsteps boomed from afar.
"I love you- I love you so much." She wept, eyes shut tightly as the rest of her team members made it downstairs, halting at the sight. The unsub's body had been the first thing observed, but the sight of Emily cradling your lifeless body- seeing Emily shattered in a way that they'd never seen before caused them to still.
JJ's hand covered her mouth as Hotch lowered his gun, tears beginning to brim in his own eyes despite his usual cold exterior. Rossi & Spencer beside him unable to watch as he turned away, walking into JJ's embrace. Then there was Derek, who stood with his mouth agape, heart plummeting. One of his best friends was forever broken, and the other dead.
Eventually, JJ had to pull Emily from your body, which took a tremendous amount of effort to do. Your lover had refused to let you go as she cried I'm sorry's and pleas for you to come back to her. Knowing you died before she said I love you back destroyed her. She just wanted to hold you; to kiss you one more time. Yet all she could do was kiss your forehead as they removed you from her arms, watching your hand leave hers.

I was making a list of Weird Places in Amity Park in Darcy Lewis' Adventures in Dating Dracula, and one of my Discord buddies told me you might like to see it.
Lost Horse Road- Nobody lives on Lost Horse Road. The buildings there are all abandoned. Even before the Fenton portal was activated, it was an extremely liminal place. Traveling Lost Horse Road is a very bad idea; lucky people are transported to a random location nearby- maybe back at home, or in front of the mall. The unlucky lose their minds instead.
Lost Horse Road has been active since at least 1850, but there have been reports even earlier of this phenomenon from settlers and natives of the area.
Whispering Heights- technically called Willow Heights due to being near a cliff covered in willow trees, Whispering Heights is another liminal area. The Old Amity Park Church functioned as a meeting place for church, local events, the market, and was even the location of the schoolhouse.
Exact dates vary, but during a nasty winter, the town was buried in a blizzard. Many of the townsfolk came to the church for warmth and safety, but the old roof collapsed, burying at least 200 people alive. It's said since then, especially at night, one can hear the whispers of their shades.
Many have gone looking for the true source. None come back. The location was purchased and developed by a real estate group out of town. Since no one from Amity Park stayed longer than a few weeks, the location was abandoned. It was since purchased by locals who bricked up all windows pointing to the cliffs, and rarely has vacancies.
Bald Hill House- the location of a major story arc, Bald Hill House has long been haunted. The proprietor was rumored to have made a deal with the devil (or fae, or ghosts depending on the teller), offering human sacrifices in exchange for wealth and power. After his death, every plant from moss on a stone to trees on Bald Hill died.
No one knows what happened a few days before Halloween of 1990, but the Bald Hill House collapsed, and plant life quickly took over the area.
Fentonworks- a relatively new liminal area, no one knows exactly what went on in the basement there; just that it caused a newcomer to take custody of both the Fentons' children. However, it is a particularly haunted area. Unlike most liminal places, unless one is unlucky, it's a relatively safe place.
The Autumn House- built in 1968, the Autumn House is rumored to have belonged to a coven of witches. It's now haunted by several ghosts, most notably the ghosts of two children and the Wisconsin Ghost. It's another fairly safe area; none of the ghosts there are known for picking unnecessary fights, and if you're particularly lucky, you might be able to have a chat with a friendly ghost.
Crybaby Creek- another major location. Legends from local tribes about this place date back centuries, or possibly even thousands of years. Locals take them seriously, and have even installed barbed wire fencing with signs warning people about the area. Cops take turns driving by at night to look for stray headlights.

Hello! How's everybody? I had this story of g/t Miles and Peter from Ps5 in my head for a long time, and I hope you like it, it's the first time in my life that I write something 😅
I hope you enjoy it and sorry if it has errors.
____________________________________________________________________
The tiny spider boy
Chapter 1:
Peter Parker, 24 year old university student, intern at the While laboratory. He is also known for serving and protecting New York City for 8 years as the friendly neighborhood Spider Man.
He is now investigating some strange installations hidden in the Kim Pim areas of Brooklyn, it is a Friday morning and there is a dead silence in the neighborhood where the villain's supposed lair would be. Outside it looks like an abandoned factory facade, you can see the broken windows and the moisture coming from the walls staining the white paint. The closest lights only faintly reach to caress the walls of the brick walls that surround the factory, since it is far from the houses and the population, more than logical for a villain to hide his plans in a supposedly "abandoned" place.
The hero did not waste time and very stealthily entered one of the broken windows that was near the roof, when he crossed it he landed with a thud inside the lifeless building and scanned the interior, it was a wide and open area, yes. If it were not thanks to his improved eyesight, it would be impossible for him to see even the most basic things, while he walked agilely and stealthily he noticed around him how the building had aged for the worse over the years, abandoned pockets of cement, chains that aged over time showing their rust color and they hang from the ceiling still as if they were a dead person, and the walls are not much better than outside, the paint is almost completely gone, all wet showing the peeling bricks and with green mold in between, you can see that the humidity was eating away at the bricks over time.
When I get to the other end there is a rusty door that led to another room, this time to some steps that led down, under the basement and took me to a less spacious area and with many worn, rusty doors, hanging from a hinge or completely thrown away, among those doors there is one that totally caught his attention, compared to the other doors, it was well positioned and hermetically closed, it did not look rusty or dirty like the others.
-Bingo! Surely this must be where Kim Pim must hide whatever he is doing... But the question now is... how do I get in without anyone noticing? Does he have an alarm or something?- He said in his mind while touching his chin.
When he looked at the ceiling, he noticed that above there were some ventilation ducts that infiltrate to the other side just above the tightly closed door, Peter smiled mischievously as he examined the duct and quickly found the rusty grate that once served its purpose to keep steady air when the factory was in its glory days, the masked hero shoots a bold web at the tip of the grate with his left hand, yanking it down to open it followed by another web with his right hand towards his mouth now open from the conduit, quickly pull the spider web and climb up without even hesitation, once inside, throw one last spider web at the same grate that is hanging like a pendulum to close it and leave no suspicion.
He doesn't need to crawl much through the square and narrow duct, at the next opening of the grate on the other side of the door he can see a faint light. He made sure that no one was in sight as he repeated the same procedure to get out, only he was stealthily closing the grate again using a piece of his web as glue.
Now it is in a kind of long and narrow hallway, full of doors that were not well maintained at all, but they did not reach the extreme of abuse that the doors on the side of the abandoned factory had, there are also fluorescent tube lights that gave a weak and delirious light throughout the entire hallway, it was like being in a horror movie, but something that caught your attention is that there was not the presence of a soul in the entire place, it is as if everyone had vanished, or that was what Peter sensed, but that didn't mean he should let his guard down.
The hero in red and blue walked with silent steps and always alert as he passed through the doors, all half-open and showing completely empty and deserted rooms inside, which disconcerted him a little.
-WHAT THE HELL WAS KIM PIM PLANNING??? Or perhaps he realized that I was coming and decided to take everything??? - he asked himself as he took stealthy steps until he came across a huge door that led right at the end of the hallway, due to its appearance and size it seemed to be important, and also It was hermetically closed like the one that separated the interior of the factory from this seedy hallway, the difference is that this was the double automatic sliding doors that welcome you when you enter a shopping center, but with the difference that it has a panel on the side with a green traced hand, means that you need a fingerprint to enter
-Fingerprint, cool!- Spider Man said with a tone of sarcasm mixed with a hint of annoyance.
What's great about this sliding door is that it has a couple of windows on both sides that allow you to see inside, and when Peter sticks his head in one of the windows it leaves him even more disconcerted, it was a huge laboratory! It has the latest technology machinery and tools of all kinds, also a pair of stretchers, one in front of the other, everything looked very well cared for and even as if it had been used for the last time that day!
-What the hell was a laboratory like that doing in an abandoned factory with absolutely nothing?- he said while scanning the laboratory from end to end. -What the hell was that ball of grease up to?-
Peter tried to think, racking his brains, he really tried but he was getting nowhere... Giving a sigh of defeat, he began to walk back through the hallways looking once again at the empty rooms when suddenly something caught his attention in a room. that, compared to the others that had the doors half open or completely open, this one in particular had the door a little more closed, and right behind it there was something that stood out on the wall where it just covered the door, as if trying to hide it , his intuition told him that the answer was there, and it wouldn't be pretty.
He decided to open it cautiously, making it creak a little, and against the right wall, right where the door covers, is full of cages stacked end to end in a row, small enough to hold laboratory mice, all of them. rusty and lacking maintenance, of all those cages only 9 are half open with traces of dried blood, that gave him a bad feeling, but that was not all, among those nine cages there was a tenth that was around the open ones, it was closed under a small padlock with something inside, he fervently hoped it was nothing more than a small rodent, but something deep inside him told him the opposite.
He slowly approaches the small trembling form that he was making a feeble attempt to hide into the shadow of the cage, and when he saw what it was, his heart shattered.
It was a small boy, barely 3 inches tall, he did not seem to be more than 15 years old, with dark skin, he had a robe that was all dirty, torn and tattered, this robe uselessly covered part of his body, all of which was flabby, he was so skeletal that he was He looked fragile like a glass that would break just by touching it, and because of his dark skin it didn't look good, but he was full of bruises and cuts, on his robe he had the number 1610, the same number he had on the door of the cage (Experiment 1610)
The boy looked terrified, with his eyes wide open, he tried to shrink at the end of the cage as much as he could, as if he wished he could disappear, seeing this boy in this pitiful state made Peter's heart boil. blood for this - USING A SHRUNKNED CHILD AS A GUINEA PIG??? THIS TIME YOU GOT OVER THE LINE!!!!! – He said to himself barely in a whisper as he clenched his fists to the point of almost breaking the fabric of his red gloves.
He sighed inwardly. There was no time to get angry now, he had to get this little guy out immediately before someone came.

6 Causes of Basement Leaks and How to Prevent Them
Tumblr media
Basement leaks are a common issue faced by many homeowners, and they can lead to significant problems if not addressed promptly. Understanding the causes of basement leaks is the first step towards preventing them. Experts specialized in basement waterproofing Charlotte NC the most common causes of basement leaks and provide practical tips on how to prevent them.
1. Poor Drainage Systems
One of the leading causes of basement leaks is poor drainage around the home's foundation. When water isn’t directed away from the house, it can accumulate around the foundation and eventually seep into the basement. This can be due to inadequate grading, clogged gutters, or downspouts that discharge water too close to the foundation.
Prevention Tips:
Ensure that the ground around your home slopes away from the foundation to encourage water to flow away from the house.
Keep gutters and downspouts clean and free of debris.
Extend downspouts at least 5-10 feet away from the foundation.
2. Hydrostatic Pressure
Hydrostatic pressure occurs when groundwater builds up in the soil around the foundation. This pressure can force water through cracks and porous areas in the foundation walls and floor, leading to basement leaks.
Prevention Tips:
Install a French drain system around the perimeter of your home to alleviate hydrostatic pressure.
Use a sump pump to remove excess water from the basement and keep it dry.
Ensure proper waterproofing of foundation walls using sealants or waterproof membranes.
3. Foundation Cracks
Cracks in the foundation walls or floor can provide an entry point for water. These cracks can result from natural settling, temperature fluctuations, or structural issues.
Prevention Tips:
Regularly inspect your basement walls and floor for cracks and opt for basement repair in Charlotte NC promptly.
Apply a waterproof sealant to the foundation walls to create a barrier against water infiltration.
4. Faulty Window Wells
Basement windows that are below ground level can be a source of leaks if the window wells are not properly installed or maintained. Water can accumulate in the window well and seep through the window frame.
Prevention Tips:
Install window well covers to prevent water from accumulating in the wells.
Ensure proper drainage in the window wells by adding gravel and a drain pipe.
Check and repair any gaps or cracks around the window frames.
5. Plumbing Leaks
Leaking pipes or plumbing fixtures within the basement can also lead to water damage. These leaks may be due to aging pipes, loose connections, or faulty fixtures.
Prevention Tips:
Regularly inspect basement plumbing for signs of leaks or corrosion.
Replace old or damaged pipes and fixtures promptly.
Install a water alarm in the basement to detect leaks early.
6. High Humidity and Condensation
High humidity levels and condensation can create a damp environment in the basement, which can mimic the effects of a leak. This can lead to mold growth and musty odors.
Prevention Tips:
Use a dehumidifier to maintain low humidity levels in the basement.
Insulate cold water pipes to prevent condensation.
Ensure proper ventilation in the basement by installing vents or exhaust fans.

Winter Considerations for Egress Window Installation in North Dakota
Installing egress windows in North Dakota presents unique challenges, particularly during the winter months. The state’s harsh winters, characterized by heavy snowfall, freezing temperatures, and frost, can impact the installation process and the performance of your egress windows. This blog explores essential winter considerations for egress window installation in North Dakota, helping homeowners navigate the complexities of wintertime projects and ensure a successful installation.
The Impact of Winter Weather on Installation
1. Frozen Ground
One of the most significant challenges of winter egress windows installation in North Dakota is dealing with frozen ground. Excavation work, crucial for installing egress windows, becomes difficult when the ground is solidly frozen. Contractors may need specialized equipment to break through the frost and dig the necessary trenches or openings. Delays and increased costs can result from these added challenges.
2. Snow and Ice
Snow and ice accumulation can obstruct the Egress Windows Installation In North Dakota site, making it difficult for workers to access the area and perform the installation. Clearing snow and ice safely and effectively is essential to maintain the schedule and ensure a smooth installation process. Additionally, snow and ice can affect the quality of the installation if not properly managed.
3. Temperature Extremes
Extremely cold temperatures can impact the materials used in egress window installation. For example, adhesives, sealants, and concrete may not cure properly in frigid conditions, leading to potential issues with the window’s integrity and performance. It’s essential to use materials that are suitable for low temperatures and to follow best practices for installation in cold weather.
Tips for Winter Egress Window Installation
1. Schedule Wisely
Plan your egress window installation well in advance, considering the weather forecast and potential delays. Scheduling the installation during a milder period of winter can help avoid complications caused by severe weather conditions. Additionally, be prepared for possible delays and communicate with your contractor to adjust timelines as needed.
2. Choose the Right Contractor
Select a contractor experienced in winter installations and familiar with the challenges of working in cold climates. An experienced contractor will have the knowledge and equipment necessary to handle frozen ground, snow, and ice, ensuring a successful installation despite the winter conditions.
3. Use Appropriate Materials
Ensure that the materials used for the installation are designed for cold weather. For example, use winter-grade sealants and adhesives that can withstand low temperatures without compromising their effectiveness. Similarly, choose window frames and glass that are rated for the harsh climate of North Dakota.
4. Prepare the Site
Before installation begins, prepare the site by removing snow and ice and ensuring proper drainage to prevent water accumulation around the installation area. This preparation helps to create a stable and clean environment for the installation and reduces the risk of complications.
5. Monitor Installation Conditions
During the installation process, monitor weather conditions closely. Extreme cold or snowstorms can impact the installation’s progress and quality. Work with your contractor to implement measures such as temporary heating or weatherproofing to protect the installation area from adverse conditions.
6. Ensure Proper Curing and Sealing
Allow ample time for materials like concrete and sealants to cure properly. Cold temperatures can slow down curing times, so ensure that the materials are given sufficient time to set before the installation is considered complete. Proper curing and sealing are crucial for the long-term performance of the egress windows.
Long-Term Maintenance and Considerations
1. Inspect Regularly
After installation, conduct regular inspections of your egress windows to ensure they remain in good condition. Check for signs of damage or wear, particularly after winter storms or heavy snowfall. Address any issues promptly to maintain the functionality and safety of your egress windows.
2. Manage Snow and Ice
Keep the area around your egress windows clear of snow and ice to prevent blockages and ensure that the windows remain accessible. Regularly shovel snow and use ice melt products as needed to maintain a clear path to the egress windows.
3. Check for Seal Integrity
Cold weather can impact the seals around your egress windows. Inspect the seals regularly to ensure they remain intact and effectively prevent drafts and moisture infiltration. Address any issues with sealing to maintain the energy efficiency and comfort of your home.
Conclusion
Installing egress windows in North Dakota during the winter months requires careful planning and consideration of the unique challenges posed by the cold climate. By scheduling wisely, choosing the right contractor and materials, preparing the site, and monitoring installation conditions, you can ensure a successful installation despite the harsh winter weather. Proper maintenance and management of snow and ice around your egress windows will further enhance their performance and longevity. With these considerations in mind, you can confidently enhance the safety and functionality of your home with egress windows, even in the heart of winter.

The bathtub's overflowing like a budget rom-com gone wrong! What's the first step?
Safety First, Mateys! Before you become a human mop, prioritize your safety. Shut off the main water valve to your home – think of it as the villain's off switch for the watery rampage. If the electrical panel is taking a shower (unintentionally, of course!), turn off the power at the main breaker box. Uncertain where these are located, or if water's getting too close for comfort near electrical outlets? Don't be a hero – call a qualified electrician immediately!
No more waterworks, but I'm still freaking out! What now?
Evacuate! If the flood's rising or poses an electrocution risk, get yourself and your family to safety. Crash at a friend's place, stay with relatives, or book a hotel room – your well-being is priority number one!
Can't wait for the cavalry to arrive! What can I do to minimize the damage?
Damage Control on Deck! If it's safe to do so, grab your most prized possessions and move them to higher ground. This includes furniture, rugs, and electronics. Think of it as creating your own personal flood-free island for your treasures! Open windows and doors for some much-needed ventilation and drying. But remember, safety first – avoid wading through deep water or entering rooms with damaged electrical wiring.
Emergency flood restoration near me, stat!
Once the floodwaters retreat and your home is safe to re-enter, it's time to call in the reinforcements! Look for a top-notch water damage restoration company like GO PRO Restoration These heroes have the experience and expertise to handle any flood emergency, big or small.

My wallet's whimpering! Does insurance cover flood damage?
Flood Insurance: A Lifesaver! Flood insurance is a separate policy from homeowner's insurance. While not everyone has it, it's a wise investment, especially if you live in an area prone to floods. Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage options – knowledge is power, especially when it comes to protecting your finances.
Remember: A flood might be a disaster, but it doesn't have to be the end of the world. By prioritizing safety, acting quickly, and seeking professional help from companies like GO PRO Restoration, you can weather the storm and restore your home to its pre-flood glory.
Don't be Caught Off Guard! Take proactive steps to prepare your home for a potential flood. Regularly check for and fix leaky pipes, consider flood barriers for doorways, and think about installing a sump pump for your basement.
With a little planning and this guide by your side, you can face a flood with confidence, knowing you have the resources and support to get through it.

Benefits of Egress Window and Glass Block Installation
Tumblr media
Glass Block Installers: Enhancing Your Home with Light and Style
When it comes to home improvement, the integration of glass blocks stands out for its unique blend of aesthetics and functionality. Glass blocks have long been celebrated for their ability to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones by amplifying natural light, enhancing privacy, and adding a touch of modern elegance. For those considering a home renovation or new construction project, partnering with professional glass block installers can bring your vision to life, creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also practical.
Glass blocks offer numerous advantages, making them a popular choice for homeowners and designers alike. One of the most compelling benefits is their ability to enhance natural light. Unlike traditional windows that provide a clear view, glass blocks diffuse light, creating a soft, ambient glow that illuminates interior spaces without compromising privacy. This feature makes them ideal for areas where both light and privacy are paramount, such as bathrooms and basements. Additionally, the energy-efficient properties of glass blocks contribute to maintaining a comfortable indoor climate by insulating against temperature extremes. This can lead to reduced energy costs and a more sustainable home.
The aesthetic appeal of glass blocks is another significant draw. Available in a wide range of patterns, textures, and colors, they can be customized to complement any architectural style, from contemporary to classic. Whether you're looking to create a striking feature wall, an elegant room divider, or a chic shower enclosure, glass blocks provide endless design possibilities. Their versatility extends to exterior applications as well, where they can enhance the curb appeal of your home while adding a unique architectural element.
Installing glass blocks, however, requires a level of expertise that goes beyond typical DIY projects. Professional Glass Block Installers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, ensuring that the installation process is smooth, precise, and durable. The process begins with a detailed consultation to understand your design goals and assess the feasibility of the project. This is followed by meticulous site preparation, where existing materials are removed, and the installation area is prepped to accommodate the glass blocks. The blocks are then carefully set in place using specialized adhesives or mortar, with attention to maintaining consistent spacing and alignment.
One of the key advantages of hiring professional installers is their ability to handle complex installations that might be challenging for an amateur. For instance, creating curved walls or intricate patterns with glass blocks requires a deep understanding of the materials and techniques involved. Moreover, professional installers adhere to industry standards and safety protocols, providing peace of mind that your installation will not only look stunning but also stand the test of time.
In conclusion, glass block installations offer a harmonious blend of style, functionality, and energy efficiency. By enlisting the expertise of professional glass block installers, you can achieve a seamless integration of these versatile elements into your home. Whether you're aiming to brighten up a dark room, enhance your bathroom's aesthetic, or add a distinctive feature to your exterior, glass blocks provide a creative solution that can elevate your living space.
Egress Window Installation Near Me: Ensuring Safety and Comfort in Your Home
In the realm of home safety and functionality, egress windows play a pivotal role, particularly in basements and lower-level living spaces. These windows are designed to provide an emergency exit, enhance natural light, and improve ventilation, making them essential for both safety compliance and livability. If you're considering finishing a basement or updating your home to meet current building codes, professional egress window installation is a crucial step towards achieving a safer and more comfortable living environment.
Egress windows are not just a safety feature; they also bring practical benefits to your home. In emergency situations, such as a fire, having an egress window can provide a critical escape route for occupants and a point of entry for emergency responders. This aspect is particularly important in basements, where traditional exits might not be accessible. By installing egress windows, you can ensure that every level of your home meets safety standards and provides a secure means of evacuation.
Beyond safety, egress windows significantly enhance the usability of basement spaces by introducing natural light and fresh air. These windows transform dark, confined areas into bright, inviting spaces that can be used for various purposes, such as bedrooms, home offices, or recreational rooms. The added natural light also contributes to a healthier indoor environment by reducing reliance on artificial lighting and promoting better ventilation. This can help mitigate issues related to mold and mildew, which are common in poorly ventilated basements.
The installation of egress windows involves a multi-step process that requires careful planning and execution. It begins with a thorough assessment of the installation site, taking into account factors such as soil conditions, utility lines, and the structural integrity of the foundation. Professional installers then proceed with excavation to create a well for the window, followed by cutting an opening in the foundation wall. This step demands precision to ensure that the window fits securely and does not compromise the building's structure.
Once the opening is prepared, the window frame is installed, and the window is fitted into place. Proper sealing and insulation are critical at this stage to prevent leaks and ensure energy efficiency. For below-ground installations, a window well is added to support the surrounding soil and facilitate drainage, preventing water accumulation around the window. The installation is completed with interior and exterior finishing touches to blend seamlessly with the existing design of your home.
Tumblr media
Finding reliable Egress Window Installation Near Me involves a few key steps. Start by researching local installers with a solid reputation and positive customer reviews. Check their credentials to ensure they are licensed and insured, and request quotes from multiple providers to compare prices and services. A reputable installer should be willing to provide references and offer a consultation to discuss your project in detail. During this consultation, they can address any questions you have and provide a clear plan for the installation process.
In conclusion, egress window installation is an essential investment for enhancing the safety, comfort, and value of your home. By choosing professional installers, you can ensure that the windows are installed correctly, comply with building codes, and provide long-lasting benefits. Whether you're converting a basement into a livable space or simply updating your home for improved safety, egress windows are a practical and valuable addition that can make a significant difference in your home's overall functionality and appeal.
For those seeking expert egress window installation services, turning to a trusted provider ensures that the job is done right, giving you peace of mind and a brighter, safer home. By focusing on quality and compliance, professional installers can help you transform your basement into a space that is both enjoyable and secure.

Understanding the Significance of Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation is rapidly becoming a go-to solution for homeowners and construction professionals due to its superior insulating properties and ease of application. As the demand rises, finding reliable spray foam insulation services near you can be crucial in locking in these benefits. This article delves into what spray foam insulation is, why it's an excellent option, and various specialized services and products available within this realm.
Unraveling the Mechanics of Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation, particularly Icynene spray foam, is a state-of-the-art insulating material that expands upon contact with air to fit into crevices and corners. It works by creating an impenetrable barrier against air leakages, which significantly improves the building's energy efficiency. This approach surpasses traditional insulation methods both in terms of performance and longevity.
Why Choose Spray Foam over Traditional Insulation?
The advantages of spray foam insulation are numerous. First off, it boasts superior thermal resistance compared to other types of insulations, efficiently keeping your property warm during cold seasons and cool during hot seasons. Moreover, it can better prevent moisture intrusion - a critical contributor to mold growth and subsequent structural damage.
Unlike conventional materials such as fiberglass which could pose health hazards if their particles become airborne, spray foam doesn't present such risks once properly installed. Most importantly though, once investment cost is recouped through energy savings (often within a few years), going forward, it saves homeowners money season after season.
More Than Just Insulation: Additional Services
For many consumers seeking spray foam insulation near me, the search extends beyond merely purchasing an insulation product; instead, they're looking for comprehensive home enhancement solutions. Some additional services include SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifiers—an innovative solution perfect for damp basements or crawlspaces.
Companies also provide proprietary systems like Basement Systems and CleanSpace Systems, which are designed to encapsulate basements and crawlspaces, creating a more energy-efficient and healthier living space. Ensuring Optimal Energy Efficiency
For those interested in maximizing energy efficiency, services such as Dr. Energy Saver can be instrumental. These services conduct comprehensive home energy audits that scrutinize various aspects of your house—windows, doors, HVAC system—for gaps that might let air leak in or out of your home. The results offer critical insights into how you could make your home even more energy-efficient than with just insulation alone.
Ideal spray foam insulation services go beyond mere installation—they seek to transform your entire property into an invincible fortress against unwanted air leakages, and dampness intrusion, and prevent mold growth—all contributing towards creating an energy-efficient property.
The demand is high for excellent local spray foam insulating providers offering innovative solutions tailored to consumer needs. Whether it's preventing heat loss during frigid winters or blocking warm air penetration in hot summers—these local providers exist to protect your comfort living conditions while saving you worthwhile bucks on utility bills long term.
