Holy fuck please if you like Spies are Forever, Falsettos, or any other depressing gay shit but mainly those two (RW&RB, CMBYN, etc. Or also similarly ship depressingly gay ships like Anderperry, Javid, Lams, anything from Book of Mormon, Bare pop opera, the list goes on and on) PLEASE go watch Fellow Travelers it is my new greatest obsession. Best depressing gay romance I've seen in my opinion GOD. (Also if you are freaky and like BillFord you'd specifically like this lmaooo tell me I'm wrong) This is way too underrated considering how amazing it is.

"matthew lloyd was just a teen who tried to do as much good as he could for his friends, was misled in his judgment by his religious upbringing, made one very big mistake and genuinely, deeply regretted it; he is not the villain of the show but one of its many victims" AND "matthew lloyd was an entitled straight male teenager who got so mad that one girl told him "no" that he went ahead and outed a gay guy knowing this would result in his losing all his friends, his family and his scholarship; even though the audience understands where he's coming from, he is very much a product of a sexist and homophobic society and it's pretty distasteful to victims of (sexist/homophobic) male violence and high school bullying to try and redeem him so hard" AND "matthew lloyd is a morally fascinating character and it's understandable he'd get so much focus from the fans" AND "it's kind of annoying how the only straight guy out of a main cast of 5 characters otherwise only comprised of women and gay guys, is the one who is the focus of most of the fanworks for the show especially when there aren't that many fanworks to begin with", are ideas that can and should coexist

part of the reason why bare argentina hits harder than English productions is that at the end of english bare it's clear Peter remains catholic (even granting pardon to the Priest — dude what ?!?) but at the end of bare argentina he literally looks the guy in the eye and basically says "homosexuality is better than whatever relationship you can have with God btw. if you even care" (nada mas puro y mas real / mas que el amor por Dios) and you know what? I support him

i’m watching the 2004 off broadway bare and peter… opens the coffin in epiphany??? does he see jason in there??? does he have some vague memory of seeing jason dead that haunts him through the rest of the show??? i have so many questions this version is fascinating
