Rolf Steiner, né à Munich le 3 janvier 1933 et qui serait décédé à la fin des années 1970 en Afrique du Sud, est un soldat qui se veut missionnaire, naturalisé biafrais, d'origine allemande. Son père, mort en 1936, fut l'un des as de l'escadrille Richthofen. D'une famille protestante, il entre dans une école catholique à Eichstätt. À seize ans, il décide de devenir prêtre. Découvrant les plaisirs de la chair avec une novice de vingt-trois ans, il quitte le lycée, sa famille et l'Allemagne en passant par Offenbourg pour s'engager dans la Légion étrangère française. Il est envoyé en Indochine dans une unité de parachutistes. Il participe à l'opération Mandarin en 1951. En 1955 son unité parachutiste est envoyé en Algérie. Malade, il est évacué d'abord à Paris où les chirurgiens lui retirent un quart de poumon, puis il passe sa convalescence au sanatorium militaire de Grenoble. Réformé, il quitte la Légion. Lorsqu'il retourne à Alger, pour retrouver Odette, sa future femme, une jeune « Pied-noir » rencontrée à un bal de la Légion, il est mêlé aux évènements des barricades aux côtés de Lagaillarde, en janvier 1960. En 1961, il rejoint les rangs de l'OAS où il est responsable du secteur Hussein-Dey Hydra. Arrêté une première fois, il est relâché après trois jours de garde-à-vue. Le 5 mars 1962, alors qu'il vient de participer à la célèbre « nuit bleue » il est de nouveau arrêté en possession d’un pistolet-mitrailleur. Après neuf mois de prison préventive à La Santé, il est acquitté faute de preuves.

En 1967, il débarque à Paris pour récupérer de l'argent qu'on lui doit. Il fréquente un bar près de l'Etoile où se retrouvent les anciens, en quête d’un emploi de mercenaire. Contacté par des employeurs potentiels ibos, il demande conseil à son ancien patron Roger Faulques, qui, en 1961, avait fait partie de la première poignée d'« affreux » au Katanga. Faulques, pour le compte officieux de Jacques Foccart, monte une opération au Biafra pour encadrer la jeune armée biafraise et engage son ancien subordonné, qui embarque à Lisbonne à bord d'un des avions de Hank Wharton. L'avion atterrit à Port Harcourt, encore aux mains des Biafrais. Là, Steiner, que Faulques a nommé capitaine, est accueilli par le commandant Picot, qui représente Faulques au Biafra. Steiner et Picot se connaissent s'étant rencontré du temps où le commandant était chef d’une compagnie au 1er REP et dans la même cellule à la prison de la Santé. Le lendemain, Steiner traverse tout le Biafra en jeep. Il trouve à la plantation Dunlop une cinquantaine de Blancs, anciens du Congo en majorité. Au lieu d'encadrer les Noirs, ils ont tendance à rester ensemble. Il se rend ensuite sur le front Nord où se trouve le gros de l'armée biafraise face à l'offensive nigériane. Il visite un secteur où les half-tracks nigérians sèment la panique parmi les rangs biafrais, qui se débandent. Steiner se transforme aussitôt en soldat. Il arrête une quarantaine de fuyards, puis empoignant un FM, les entraîne à l'assaut. Les Nigérians se replient. C'est la première victoire de Steiner au Biafra et le début d’une nouvelle aventure, donnant un sens nouveau à sa vie. Devant l’amateurisme des Biafrais, il décide, non sans mal, de créer des commandos. Le 23 janvier 1968, les hommes de Faulques quittent le Biafra. Steiner reste.

Le président Ojukwu le nomme major et lui accorde la nationalité biafraise. Mobilisant plus de 1 000 recrues, il forme le 32e bataillon de commandos. Ojukwu le nomme alors colonel et le charge de former une brigade de commandos de 5 000 hommes. Le 25 mai, il réussit un coup de commando et détruit 4 Iliouchine et les deux Mig soviétique à Enugu, en territoire nigérian. À l'automne 1968, la situation au Biafra est plus critique que jamais. Les services spéciaux français se détachent de l’affaire du Biafra et font pression sur lui pour influencer le président. Il refuse et donne sa démission à Ojukwu qui la refuse dans un premier temps puis accepte. Pour une altercation avec un garde, il est expulsé de la province sécessionniste. Il est alors approché par des soudanais pour entraîner les rebelles anyanyas du sud Soudan. Il est accueilli par le général Taffeng, chef de la rébellion depuis 1958 dans un camp de réfugiés où s'entassent quelques milliers de personnes. De retour en Europe, il fait une tournée de conférences afin de sensibiliser l'opinion au drame du Sud Soudan. Son pourvoyeur de fonds présumé lui fait défaut. Dès lors, il se retrouve seul, mais persévère.

En septembre 1969, il trouve des fonds et achète une tonne de médicaments, un groupe électrogène, des outils, une pompe hydraulique, une couveuse à poussins et cent kilos de graines de tomates. Il veut en effet créer une ferme expérimentale et un réseau de distribution de vivres. Il retourne donc pour le Sud Soudan et construit une première ferme expérimentale : Fort-Amory et un petit hôpital de brousse. Dès janvier 1970, la réalité de la guerre se rappelle à lui. La découverte d’un charnier l’amène à former un commando à 4 compagnies. En juillet, il monte un raid de nuit pour libérer deux cents femmes retenues prisonnières à Kajo Kajé. La seule opération militaire que l'on puisse lui imputer pendant son séjour au Sud Soudan réussit. Le 4 octobre 1970, il quitte le pays et regagne Kampala. Sollicité mais refusant de participer à l’élimination d’Idi Amin Dada, il est arrêté en Ouganda et livré aux autorités de Khartoum le 8 janv. 1971. Il est emprisonné et torturé par les Soudanais, il passera plusieurs années d'incarcération dans la terrible prison de Kober Jail avant d'être expulsé en 1974, grâce à l’intervention des autorités ouest-allemandes, Steiner passe trois ans et demi en prison. Il publie sa biographie, Le carré rouge (The last adventurer) en 1976. En 1976 le journaliste allemand Dr. Dietrich Strothmann a fait un reportage de Rolf Steiner (qui était en bonne santé) à Münster (Allemagne) vivant avec sa nouvelle femme et son petit-fils Oliver dans leur maison.

Super fan ako ng perfumes AS IN. Di complete yun ligo ko pag wala akong cologne or perfume sa katawan.

Highschool scents ko

Bench 8 , Bench Altantis, Penshoppe Rain, Bench potion ( Calm & Charm)

College Scents:

Oxygen 1155 ( AMOY CHEYENNE) - this is my signature scent until now, my go-to scent.

Many of my classmates, friends, ka group sa dance, even past lovers. They know na eto yun amoy ko. lol.

“HOY, ASAN SI CHEYENNE, AMOY CHEYENNE DITO E” or “galing ba si cheyenne dito? naiwan yung amoy niya hahaha” ( legit)

I remembered nung nasa paseo kami sa school, everybody was hugging me, then aamoy-in lang nila ako. “ambango mo naman, kahit pawis ka na”

Like I know that yun chemicals ng body ko ng sweat, it blends well sa oxygen 1155, it compliments well.

But I had some scent pa like

LACOSTE RED - Now here’s my other signature scent, my past lovers gave me this perfume as a gift.

I tried also, Clinique Happy, Bvlgari Aqua, Issey Miyake, California Herrera 212 Men, Hugo Boss Dark Blue, Polo Sport

Yung iba from Prescripto, but I had the legit perfumes also as a gift from my parents, kaso nagagalit yun parents ko kasi ambilis maubos HAHA

2014 - 2021 Scents:

Still my go-to was Oxygen 1155, and Lacoste Red and sometimes Bvlgari Aqua

Then na curious ako sa Jo Malone last 2020, so na trip-an ko yun Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

Then this year, like I encountered some videos of perfumes. Na curious ako sa Le Labo and Byredo and NOW na ccurious na ako sa Maison, Maison Margiela Replica, Clean Reserve.

Di ko padin inalis or aalisin yun Oxygen 1155 because its cheap and its my go-to scent and my signature scent.

So I ordered decants online para malaman ko muna yun scents bago ako bumili nung 50ml/100ml na perfume na talaga kasi its pricey HAHAHAHA

I love Le Labo’s Another 13 ( which I have )  Gaiac 10 Tokyo,  di ko trip yun Santal 33, but mabango din siya. I would like to try Bergamote 22 and The Noir 29

I ordered decants also ng Byredo so

I love Byredo’s Blanche,  Rose Of No Man’s Island, Gypsy Water and Bal d’ Afrique ( which I have)

Sobrang pricey yun LEGIT, so I ordered US Testers ( not the Dubai/ Singapore testers because mabilis mawala yun scent) , okay naman siya like 60% of the day nagsstay padin yun scent.

So sobrang natuwa na naman ako sa perfumes, AGAIN. I discovered fragrantica ( yun website na about perfumes/fragrances) . I found out, LAHAT ng favorite scents ko nasa Woody, Musky and Citrus Scent.

So now chncheck ko muna sa fragantica HAHAHAH

1155 the main accord is woody , Lacoste Red is also Woody, Bvlgari Aqua is citrus. 

Le Labo Another 13/ Gaiac 10 is woody and musky.

Naiba lang sa mga Byredo perfumes ko

Blanche which is Fresh , Floral and Aldehyde. Rose of No Man’s Island is very floral scent but both has a woody base notes.

Gypsy Water and Bal D’ Afrique is woody and citrusy padin.

Kaya I always wear perfume, para LAHAT ng nakakasalamuha ko, they will ALWAYS remember me.

As I quote

“Smell goes into the emotional parts of the brain and the memory parts, whereas words go into thinking parts of the brain.”

This was proven by neurologists. May certain studies sila about smells na they bring so much memories and emotions. I knew this nung nursing pa ako, so sinabi ko na lagi ako dapat may perfume bukod sa di complete yun ligo ko ng wala akong perfume HAHAHAHA

Anyway, I cannot speak sa mga taong nakaka amoy sa akin, kung naaalala nila yun mga emotions nila sa akin before or yun mga taong alam yun scent ko

But I can speak about the scents of my past lovers, REALLY, until now, pag naamoy ko yun amoy nila, minsan hinahanap ko pa sila sa paligid ko HAHAHAHAHA ( No joke)

Past lover 1 - Her scent na nag-llinger sa akin til now was Zen Zest Daiquiri, Bvlgari Women, Lacoste Pink,  and Incanto Shine

Past lover 2 - Her scents were ( kasi mahilig din to sa perfume) Gucci Premiere ( basta Gucci yun) Nina by Nina Ricci , Eclat D Arpege by Lanvin , Calvin Klein CKIn2U,  Penshoppe Denim Love

Past Lover 3 -  Her scents were ( isa pa din mahilig to sa perfumes) Zen Zest Tangerine, Petit Monde Amber , Angel Heart ,  Ari by Ariana Grande,  Nike Azure Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender.  Jo Malone English Pear , Wild Bluebell , Mimosa and Cardamom

HAHAHA sa sobrang hook ko sa perfumes, kabisado ko din mga amoy nila. AT HINDI SILA MAGKAKA AMOY SO ALAM KO YUN DISTINCTION NILA HAHAHAHAHAHAH PUTA.

My brain immediately goes like

ALERT!!!!  “gagi amoy ni _______ ano yun, bakit amoy _________” ( looks around) - automatic reaction ko yan HAHAHAH

kaya sa four seasons of loneliness na lyrics na “remind me of the scent of your perfume”  YUN TALAGA YUN LEGIT YUN HAHAHAHAH

Pero ha? kahit naalala ko sila pag nakakaamoy ako ng mga scents nila around, I feel giddy and happy, sobrang legit yun.

Hindi ko alam yun mga scents nun mga nakalandian ko lang, or nagka something lang kami, pero ALAM NA ALAM ko din yung mga pabango ng mga sobrang close friends ko, bakit? kasi tinatanong ko din or hinahanap ko sa rack nila HAHAHAHA kasi nga grabe yun fascination ko sa perfumes.

Eto yung mga scents nila ha , si papi din naka lacoste red , si bro naka D&G light blue yun, tapos may naka Bench na bubble gum, yun dalawang mag bestie, halos parehas sila ng pabango pero naalala ko sila sa petit monde amber, may naka bvlgari din pero hindi yun aqua, lacoste white,

pati nga yun boss ko alam kong naka jo malone sya e ,di ko maalala kung ano yun kanya sabi kasi nya sa akin “Ms. Cheyenne naka Jo Malone ka din?” eh naka wood sage and sea salt ako ng mga panahon na yun HAHA. so feeling ko mahilig din sya sa perfumes. tapos nagpapa pirma ako sa kanya nun design ko, sabi nya “Ms. Cheyenne, ano yun perfume mo? Polo ba yan or Ck?” eh naka 1155 ako nun, sabi ko “ma’am oxygen 1155 po” diba inaamoy nya ako haahahahha

Super important sa akin ng perfumes lalo na pag nasa office ako, syempre graphic designer ako, I have to present my design, lalapit ako sa mga big boss,  makikipag usap ako sa mga suppliers, I have to attend meetings, bukod sa clean looking I have to smell nice also, dagdag yun sa charisma, para ma approve yun design, at babaan ni supplier yung price HAHAHAHA

Saka super compliment sa akin na sasabihin mo sa akin na mabango ako. Kahit total strangers, ha? sa tindahan kina, eto naka Gaiac 10 ako, sabi sa akin nung nanay sa tindahan, “ambango mo naman” tapos nag smile siya sakin. Ansaya lang, HAHAHA

“ambango mo naman, parang ang sarap mong i-hug” - one way to flirt with me HAHAHAHA walang ano, kikiligin ako nyan HAHAHAHA

Nagiba na din ako ng roster ng scents, kasi ayaw ko ng super mainstream na scents, nagstop na ako bumili ng mga mainstream scents sa prescripto, or yung mga naka re brand na perfumes. Kasi nga gusto ko may distinction ako na “amoy cheyenne” kaya 1155 lang tinira ko sa dati kong mga scents. Puro Le Labo saka Byredo na lang scents ko.

My favorites for the month of July. My skin is misbehaving, so I've been using Pai and Kypris facial oils to calm my skin. I really like this Origins GinZing Mascara because I don't look ike a raccoon at the end of the day. It does brightens, lengthens and lift my Asian stubborn lashes. Glossier Cloud Paint is still my go-to. I've been using Cloud Paint for 4 months now. For the Invisible Shield, it is perfect as a daily Sunscreen. Le Labo Santal 33 and Byredo Bal D' Afrique are a must have. Took myself on date yesterday. Started with a little shopping at @bergdorfs where I bought my first @alc_ltd dress (their in store sale has their online sale beat by miles). I then headed down to @saks who’s shoe department was a little too crazy for me. I then went down to LES for some pizza from my favorite @neaexpress (the Di Parma is my Go-To pizza full of arugula). Afterwards I headed to @publictradenyc to pick up a few @officialbyredo products. OMG, Bal D’ Afrique is my new favorite scent! I need all their candles and perfumes now. Also indulged in a few white roses just because. Happy Monday Beloveds! ✨ (at New York, New York)
