George realizes his love language is physical touch at the worst possible time

Six days.

It's been six days since Dream left for Turkey for a much needed (and much deserved) vacation with his family.

Then why does it feel like it's been six years?

There have been plenty of stretches in the past two years that have lasted much longer than this one. George's trip to the Bahamas. Dream's trips to LA to work on his music, followed by a tour that lasted weeks.

He managed those just fine, but somehow this feels different.

Maybe it's because George hasn't been apart from his best friend at all for the past four months. For those seventeen weeks, Dream had been a near constant presence while they worked on the new content together.

Several times a day George wandered into Dream's office, either for a progress check-in, a question, or to lay on the daybed and keep Dream company while he worked.

Thinking back, George realized they'd never been around each other that long before.

After years alone in England and a year and a half of travel after he arrived in Florida, George finally had what he'd been dreaming of for seven years.

A shared house with his best friend.

Granted, it wasn't always sunshine and roses. They argued a little when one of them needed space as roommates often do, but it never lasted long. After a couple hours, Dream would knock on George's bedroom door, and without a word he'd climb into George's bed and give him a hug.

And Dream gave the best hugs.

George may have pretended sometimes to dislike Dream's hugs on camera, but when it was just the two of them and the cameras were off, he welcomed Dream's embrace like a drink of water after weeks in the desert.

So much so that George suddenly realized, minutes after Dream left for the airport last week, that not only did he like Dream's hugs - he craved them.

George always thought his love language was gifts, something that Sapnap teased him for relentlessly.

The way he always asked Dream to buy stuff for him. The way he treated his gifts from Dream with the utmost care.

The globe, the chopsticks.

The rose quartz elephants.

Who knew he needed physical touch even more?

For the first few days, George lived in denial.

He didn't really need physical touch that badly. And if he did, he could satisfy his own cravings by hugging pillows, taking long hot showers, and wrapping himself up in a blanket burrito like his mom did to him when he was little.

But four days in, George's skin crawled with the need for physical contact - more than a blanket burrito could provide.

Cautiously he peered into Sapnap's office.

"Um... Sap?" George glanced around, making sure his friend wasn't streaming. "Are you busy?"

"Not really." Sapnap set his phone on his desk and turned in his chair. "What's up?"

"I...um..." George stared at the floor for a moment, then up to the concerned eyes before him. Sapnap might tease him sometimes, but he wouldn't now, would he? After all, this was the guy who got an expedited passport to fly to London when George was depressed three years ago.

"I... I need a hug." George spat out the words, his cheeks immediately flushing crimson.

"Wait a minute." Sapnap straightened, his tone serious. "That idiot didn't say something to you, did he?" Sapnap tensed further, gripping the arms of his chair. "Because I swear if Dream hooked up with some random Turkish dude and broke your heart, I'll -"

"No!" George waved his hands rapidly in front of himself. “Things with Dream are fine. I just... I miss his hugs more than I thought I would and -"

"Say no more." Sapnap stood and opened his arms. "Now come here."

George walked into Sapnap's arms and his best friend held him tight.

Too tight.

"Sapnap!" George wheezed. "I... I can't breathe!"

"Oh. Sorry." Sapnap released him immediately. "Let me try again."

So Sapnap hugged him again, too loosely this time.

Too tired to argue, George offered Sapnap a smile and thanked him before heading back to his room.

The next day, George invited Sylvee and Skeppy over.

Their hugs were ok, but not as good as Dream's.

He had only one day left though. One more day until Dream was home.

He could do this.

He couldn't do this.

Then, Dream texted him, saying he was at the airport in Turkey and would be home in twelve hours.

Each second, each minute ticked by with agonizing slowness.

In a last ditch effort, he grabbed Patches and held her on his lap despite her initial meows of protest.

Eventually she settled down and allowed George to pet her, to satisfy his need for physical touch the only way he could.

After several minutes he must have drifted off, and when George looked at the clock on his nightstand, it was half past nine in the morning.

George's phone buzzed with a text.

Dream's flight just landed.

Quickly George scrambled out of bed, grabbed some clean clothes and took a shower. Then he ran downstairs and paced in front of the door to the garage.

His heart hammered in his chest and George practically jumped out of his skin at the familiar sound of the garage door opening.

Finally.

Dream was home.

George's heart climbed into his throat as he heard the car door open, then close. As he heard the trunk open, then close.

Then the door opened.

Dream stepped through, face weary from hours of travel.

But George didn't care. Without hesitation he launched himself into his best friend's arms.

Dream stumbled for a moment, catching himself on the wall before wrapping his arms around George's frame.

And after six days of merely surviving in this house, surrounded by cold walls, George finally felt like he was home.

"Missed me, huh?" Dream whispered into George's raven curls, then pressed a kiss to the top of his head.

"Mm-hmm." George nodded, gripping Dream tighter.

It was perfect. And why wouldn't it be? After all, Dream really did give the best hugs.

And George never ever wanted to let go.

Zach, on the ride to the airport, was channeling concerted effort into ignoring Kylie’s hand and its slow, painful creep up his thigh, her mouth on the soft crevice behind his diamond ear, as he argued with Amanda on the phone. “I already told you, this ain’t about me,” he huffed, half-breathless. She was of the opinion that his following Kylie to New York this time around was the perfect opportunity to broach the subject of signing with the Label and meet professionally with Andrew Dupree beyond their occasional correspondence. Touching base, they say, and the formal language makes Zach’s gut twist with discomfort like trying to force his form into a slot too tight to fit. “It doesn’t have to be at the damn dinner, Zach, I’m not asking you to rock the boat with Kylie.” He subtly pressed the reduce volume button on the side of his phone, but Kylie had heard. She giggled softly against his skin, the vibrations rippling like a skipping stone to a lake face. His chest puffed out, dousing out his bodily response to the sensation. “Uh-oh,” Kylie whispered, rolling his earlobe between her teeth. “What if your scary girlfriend heard that?” He laughed, pulling the phone away from his mouth as he shoved her away. “Fuck off,” he chided. Amanda yelled into the air. He brought the phone back to his ear. “I’m sending him this presentation deck tonight. If you won’t ask him to sit down with you, I’m gonna tempt him until he’s knocking your door down begging. I’ve waited two years for you, Winthrop, but your time’s up.” He was hardly listening; Kylie’s tongue ebbed like a threat on his throat. “Right, right. See you, Amanda.”

He hadn’t been on a plane in almost two years, aside from a two-week vacation to The Bahamas on his birthday. Nothing since the end of Kylie’s tour. He had lived, as close as he possibly could, a pretty regular life in his time off. It was evident in the way he now operated, after twenty-four months of outpatient therapy and ridding his life triggers or particular stressors; he was not the man the world knew him to be anymore. Even traveling domestically now was an interesting sensation; he used to take planes like anyone else would climb into their cars to work, but he was finding his legs again. Surrounded by a flank of security, phone cameras and DSLR paparazzi cameras pointed and flashing in their direction, sneakers squeaking to keep up with the couple that’d held Hollywood by the neck during his entire hiatus. He spoke nothing of his flitting anxieties, however. He swallowed them down as passing upsets. Bowing his head to the flashes, he waved with one hand and held Kylie’s with the other, allowing her to pull him through the crowds to their destination. He remained silent, shutting out the calls of fans around him, thinking only of putting one foot in front of the other until they were safe inside their VIP lounge.

Kylie held her phone to her ear now, muttering frustratedly in a way that was classically her; such that, if confronted with her own bad mood, she had plausible deniability. “Okay, well, just text me as soon as you’re on the way to the airport - I’m not freaking out - and I’ll try delay the meeting if I need to. Okay. No, I’m fine. Okay, bye.” Zach eyed her, nerves settled and usual confidence weighting his veins. “All good?” She shook her head, swilling a glass straw around a sparkling ice water, lemon and mint. “Something about Lenny’s husband having an accident. I guess he fell down the stairs, I don’t know.” Zach tilted his head, watching her carefully. Once upon a time, he knew the girl who would’ve canceled her trip just to check he was okay. “I get it, it’s just. Ugh. It’s so frustrating. I need him there.” Zach rubbed her shoulder and culled her into his chest. “He’ll be there,” he muttered into her hair, a waft of vanilla warming in his chest. “And if he isn’t, we’ll figure it out. Don’t worry.” He smiled. “He’s only a multi-millionaire CEO with your entire future in his fat back pocket. Nothing to worry about.” She scoffed, slapping him on the hard hilt of his chest. “You are incorrigible,” she chastised, the corner of her mouth giving her away. “Can’t be reformed if I’m never punished,” he grinned.

But the closer the hour crept, the less and less likely it became that Lenny would make it on time. “You can always reschedule, if you’re freaking out that much about it.” Kylie paced their hotel room, a grand archway framing her frantic movements. “I’m not freaking out,” she protested, pointing at him where he sprawled wide on the chesterfield. He snorted, pounding out a pillow to rest on. “And I just got promoted to General Manager at Wendy’s. Hey,” he posited sarcastically, now kicking another pillow into place to balance his crossed ankles. “Is this improv?” She let out a frustrated groan and pounced on him, straddling his hips and rocking her little fists into his chest as she scolded him; “Shut. The fuck. Up. Please. Do something. Helpful.” Zach laughed hysterically, arresting her wrists in mid-air as she struggled against him, shaking his head. “Like what? You want me to come hold your hand at dinner tonight?”

Kylie stopped suddenly, arms going limp in his hands as she stared out the floor-to-ceiling window dressed in draping curtains behind him. “Wait. Yes.” She looked down at him, hopeful. “Would you?” Zach thought about this for a moment, weighing his options. He didn’t want a repeat of their first meeting; but then again, this wasn’t supposed to be a meeting, was it? It was supposed to be a classic schmooze; a celebratory dinner in Kylie’s honor. And she was asking him. He’d had other plans to meet some friends he hadn’t seen in a while, but her eyes sweltered diamond blue, and he relented. “If you want me to.”  She beamed, leaping from him to find her phone in the upheaval of belongings at the foot of the California king bed. “Thank you, thank you! This will be fun,” she insisted, locating the device and tapping incessantly on the screen to text Andrew. “I’m gonna tell him. Oh, and see if he can grab any non-alcoholic champagne.”

The only times they've been apart was when George had to be in the Bahamas for his visa and George had to go to NC for banter. It's totally possible George won't join for every show but I think it's a small enough tour that George would be like ? Why not just go to all ?

2017 VoicePlay spring travels — all over the map

VoicePlay were some busy bunnies in early 2017, and they continued to get by with some help from their friends, particularly their three substitute singers for live shows.

The guys started their spring with a mini-tour through Georgia. They picked up J.None and traversed the state to play four shows in five days.

Some auditions go more smoothly than others, but they're always amusing.

Howdy, fellas

When their pals Home Free came to town, the guys couldn't resist seeing them do their thing.

.

Then they grabbed Erik Winger and hit the road again for a whirwind weekend. First they hopped over to Texas for a student workshop and a concert in Lake Jackson. (While they were there, Winger also earned cool points with some fans' kids via backstage shenanigans.)

Next they flew up to Pennsylvania to headline a local high school a cappella festival. Then they headed down to Washington, DC for a private event.

Workin' day and night

After they got home, Layne, Tony, and sound guy Paul Kaleka spent most of the next week working on PattyCake's next project, "Michaeleficent", at a couple different locations in the area.

Geoff and Kathy spent some time making final preparations for the impending arrival of their little one, and VoicePlay brought in his paternity leave replacement — Bryant Vance, member of Vocalosity and Rockapella, and then-fiancé of their frequent collaborator Hannah Juliano — to get him up to speed.

Meanwhile, J.None was a busy bee. He recorded some vocals for a friend's EP; squeezed in a quick cruise gig with one of his other regular groups at the time, Paradigm Party Band; volunteered at an annual event to uplift unhoused people; and then met up with Paradigm again for an electrifying night at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Once J was available again, VoicePlay scooped him up for a private event at Disney World.

Here comes a son

And then it was time to meet the newest, tiniest member of the Castellucci family (a couple weeks sooner than expected).

Kathy posted a video on Instagram for William's seventh birthday that includes footage of them in the hospital before and after his birth. The kid's become quite a little bundle of energy, as Geoff predicted.

Bright lights, several cities

Bryant started his subbing duties the next week with a corporate gig in Fort Lauderdale. A couple days later, the guys pulled Geoff out of the house for one day to film their next video with J.None.

The week after that, they gathered up Winger and met Bryant in Washington, DC for a private event at the Library of Congress.

Back at home, J.None and his friend Daniel provided a live serenade for another friend's marriage proposal. (She said yes.)

Some of the gang followed Bryant home to NYC, and had a bit of an aca-reunion with Hannah and former 4:2:Five tenor Danny Alan. The Edge Effect's Instagram account joked that they were forming a supergroup called the RockaLocity PlayEffect. (They do have all the vocal parts covered…)

From the seas to the plains

In the middle of May, the guys set sail for the Bahamas on the Disney Dream once more, again with both Winger and Bryant. (Some high seas hijinks ensued when Erik fell asleep in the wrong cabin.)

During their week at home in between trips, Eli and Ashley bought a new house.

Then VoicePlay finished the month by hitting the road again with J.None and Geoff back in the mix for a show in Toledo, Ohio.

Functioning privately

June was a bit quieter, allowing the guys to do some work at home in preparation for future projects. Layne, Cyndi, and the girls even recorded a family music video of "Dear Theodosia" from Hamilton for Doris's first birthday.

VoicePlay did have a couple of private events booked for the middle of the month, though. The first was at a marina in Vancouver.

The second was at the top of a hotel in Miami Beach.

Finding Sunken Ships while Diving in the Caribbean Sea

The countries that make up the Caribbean are most widely known for their pristine beaches and aquamarine waters. The Caribbean is also a popular scuba diving spot, with many divers taking in the diverse marine life, including coral reefs. Scuba divers can also tour the sunken ships beneath the Caribbean Sea.

Cozumel, Turks and Caicos, Bonaire, and St. Croix are among some of the top scuba diving destinations. However, while they offer divers much in terms of marine scenery, the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Aruba, and Roatan offer divers something more- a little bit of history.

The Bahamas is an archipelago comprised of 700 plus islands located in the middle of the Caribbean Sea and the Western Atlantic Ocean. Some top diving spots include Tiger Beach, where divers can see many tiger sharks, or visit Bimini to see hammerheads. Bimini is also where divers can tour the remnants of the once powerful 282-foot cargo steamer, the SS Sapona.

The vessel traveled the Caribbean Sea during World War I, but a 1926 hurricane caused the ship to move off course. The vessel shipwrecked near Bimini, where remnants of the wreckage still exist. Today, the wreck off Bimini is one of the most popular diving spots because of the marine life that sits below. The ship's skeleton appears on the water's surface, but frogfish, nudibranchs, starfish, and crabs live below. Furthermore, divers can see reef sharks, sea turtles, grouper, and various rays.

The Cayman Islands is also the location of two shipwrecks. Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman offer divers impressive drop-offs, with Grand Cayman being the location of Stingray City and other marine life. These islands were also the location of a significant discovery for a couple who traveled to the Cayman Islands in 1970. The couple snorkeled near Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman when they found an emerald-encrusted jewel in an area now named Lost Treasure Reef. After renting diving gear, they returned to the site to find a 13-foot gold chain, platinum bar, and 300 pounds in gold items. The booty came from a 450-year-old Spanish ship traveling from Mexico to Spain circa 1522 that disappeared.

The other sunken ship was the USS Kittiwake. The boat has remained intact after being intentionally sunken in 2011. This rescue ship traveled among the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans for five decades, beginning in 1949 and ending in 1994. After removing all its contaminants, the government sunk the ship. Today, the recreational site is shallow enough for free divers and snorkelers to tour the wreckage.

Divers can also travel to Aruba to tour Antilla, one of the Caribbean's largest (and most famous) shipwrecks. Aruba was a Dutch colony in 1940. Germany built Antilla and anchored it off the coast of Aruba in 1939. Coincidentally, Germany invaded the Netherlands, so Dutch mariners tried to board the ship, but the German captain prevented them from boarding. The captain then ordered his men to destroy the ship, after which they escaped sinking, but were apprehended by the Dutch. Today, parts of the ship's wreckage sit above the surface where pelicans and other sea birds live, but divers can find diverse anemones, hard coral, moray eels, crustaceans, and octopuses.

Finally, Roatan, an island off Honduras, is another popular for scuba diving. The lush, mountainous landscape allows divers of all levels to tour the water's depths. Those diving in the area will descend the Hole in the Wall, a steep vertical descent down a reef wall. In addition to seeing bright coral, schools of fish, rays, and moray eels, divers can also tour the El Aguila (the Eagle) shipwreck.

In 1998, before being broken into three parts during Hurricane Mitch, it measured 230 feet. Historians believe the ship was on course from Haiti to Puerto Cortes carrying concrete. After shipwrecking, it remained underwater for years before being brought into the Roatan harbor before another storm drug it out to the reef. At some point, a team purchased and cleaned the ship, sinking it in its current location.

this one is for @vintagecocacolainthesun!! jan (yes, THE jan from jan & dean) travelled with them during their ‘67 tour! davy had apparently befriended jan prior to the tour, and after jan’s accident he thought being on the tour, around people, would really help him. according to micky, jan went from being unable to talk or walk or really do much of anything to talking and singing and dancing along with everyone 😊

micky explains that, despite the belief that mike outed them alone for being “plastic”, micky while he was in england also told reporters (when asked) that they didn’t play their own instruments on a lot of their recordings. so he implies it was a simultaneous accidental outing of the group (although mike organized the press conference where he revealed it 💀)

when jack nicholson and micky were in the bahamas shooting the porpoise song scene, they decided they wanted to go to a casino. they were turned away because they weren’t in formal attire, but jack bullied their way in 😂

NBC-TV ititially offered them 3 tv specials, but when 33 ⅓ revolutions per monkee bombed they pulled the other 2 offers 🥶

micky pulled a gun on a suspected drug dealer that was threatening harry nilsson with a knife outside of his home 💀

micky had 2 very disturbing fans that stalked him (and apparently they poised his pets!?!?!?). he compares their joint personalities to annie wilkes from misery 😱

6 months is a long time! Where did you study? Japan is a popular trip from here. I’m thinking I should go sometime this year, too. I have a some vacation I can use, but we have to use them during term test weeks. Funny enough one of the times is in April! So I might go in April or July. Are your kids excited about going to Japan? I imagine it’s not easy traveling with kids haha but I’m noticing that sometimes kids are easier to rally if they’re happy and curious.

I think my favorite thing about Seoul is that it feels less like one city and more like a dozen cities laying right next to each other. There are endless things to explore bc each neighborhood is its own place. They’re similar ofc but they are unique in their own way. My least favorite thing tho is how far my neighborhood is from the really interesting parts of the city. It’s super easy to get everywhere but it’s gonna take me an hour. So I can only go places on the weekends. I have to be careful not to overdo it tho! These past two weekends I chilled bc my birthday, some social events, and Seollal are coming up back to back. I really have never been so social in my life! Did I tell you about the queer book club I’m in?

Oh and before I forget, I need to tell you how much I’m looking forward to To Kill a King. It’s such a fascinating story. Meadow is a favorite of mine so I always like your more complicated worlds. I’m working on a novel atm with a complex world, so I’d love any advice! —🐮 anon

I was living in the Netherlands although I traveled around Europe a lot. It was AMAZING, definitely one of the best periods of my life.

My kids are soooo excited about Japan, they've been asking to go for years. I'm hoping what you say is true, that they'll be troopers about the travel. It won't be from lack of excitement though, I just know 24 hours of travel and sitting on a plane is rough, especially for a 5 year old 😵‍💫 Hopefully it won't be unbearable though and this will free us up for more trips. They want to go to the Bahamas next (for sharks, they're both super into sharks) and Greenland... I'm thinking yes to Bahamas and no to Greenland haha.

You didn't tell me about the queer book club!! That sounds like so much funnnn. All of your descriptions of Seoul sound great. I wish I could remember more detail about the time I spent there and where I was but I was in a tour of Asia for work and it was all such a whirlwind so I've had to mostly just live vicariously through my research and now you 😊 So many exciting things coming up!! Feel free to drop aaaaany mundane experiences here, I volunteer to be the diary! haha

And thank you for your excitement about TKAK haha. I'm inching along on the next chapter. It has a lot of scenes that need careful choreography... but I did some cheating writing ahead this last week too and I'm so excited for future scenes so that'll help me push through the harder chapters!

The Hideout and Shore Team

After a ship and a crew, a captain's contacts are his greatest assets, and Santiago has developed a number of excellent contacts in the Caribbean. Lets meet them!

Esmeralda:

Driven out of France by the obsession of a judge, Esmeralda made her way to the Caribbean where she parlayed personal charisma, creativity and persuasion to get herself a partial stake in a bar and brothel. That partial stake burned up when the rest of the place did during one of Santiago’s disagreements with the crew of the Ulysses. Unlike her business partners though, Esmeralda wasn’t willing to accept the loss. She hunted him down to demand repayment, only to be swept up in a race that took them to the East Indies. There, while hunting for a Lantean artifact, they found a few new allies, plenty of adventure, and in a cove not far from Singapore, a beached Chinese Treasure ship. Clearing out the pirates who’d been using it as hide out, and coincidentally claiming their modest horde for themselves, Santiago and Esmeralda made a deal. His crew would get the ship seaworthy, and use the captured pirate horde to rearm and crew the ship, and Esmeralda would captain her as a free floating pleasure galleon, touring the Caribbean offering gambling, drinking, live entertainment and more to any with the coin to pay for it. In return for his assistance, The Menagerie and her crew would maintain a 50% stake in the ship and any profits she made. 

Esmeralda accepted. Now she captains The Jade Empress around the Caribbean, trading luxury and entertainment for information, leads, and of course, plenty of silver. 

Namaari & Raya:

The scions of two warring peoples, Raya and NamaarI none the less fell in love. Knowing that unification of their people would be impossible, they elected instead to flee their homes and start a fresh life together. Trading on their combat skills, they made their way to Singapore, where a fight in a warehouse spilled out into the street, and directly into them, dragging them both into a new adventure. Leaping to the defense of who they assumed to be an innocent woman, they instead found themselves fighting alongside Kida as she battled a batch of local gangsters for possession of a map. The three of them fled back to the Menagerie where Raya and Namaari found themselves carried along on the adventure. At its conclusion they were offered the opportunity to join the crew, but instead decided to travel with Esmeralda, offering their services as her bodyguards and bouncers. 

For Raya, this is an opportunity to get out of the base mercenary work they’d been doing. To find a new home somewhere she and Namaari felt needed and appreciated. 

For Namaari, it’s a little more simple than that. She gets to stay with Raya in something approaching her previous lifestyle’s comfort, and she gets to beat the hell out of a few drunks and pirates now and again. She’s happy with that.

Dolores:

Everything was going well for the Family Madrigal, until a new priest came to town. Denouncing their miracles as devil worship, he turned the people against them, driving the Madrigals from their home, and splitting the family apart in the process. Dolores was hounded all the way to the Caribbean coast, where she hopped a ship for the Bahamas. Using her gift, she was able to warn the captain of her ship of an impending mutiny, and he in turn carried her to Tortuga just in time for the Jade Empress to arrive in port. Unsure of where else to go, and hoping she might find information there, Dolores made her way onto the massive ship. It didn’t take her long to figure out just what the ship was, and that information was one of the ship’s largest markets. With her gift, she plucked leads, tips, and secrets from the air without ever leaving her seat. She even caught a hint about her family. Somebody had seen Isabella aboard a ship named The Lovely Assistant. With no other leads to follow, and aware that the Empress traveled a lot, she approached Esmeralda, offering her services as an informant in exchange for a place on the ship and the promise of help should any leads come up. Esmeralda in turn introduced her to Santiago, who promised to pass on any information he heard about her family, and pledged the full capabilities of himself, his ship, and his crew should she need them to follow up on any leads. So now Dolores does odd jobs around the Empress, from dancing, to serving drinks, to even a few more intimate services for the right customers, always with an ear out for news of her family, or anything else Esmeralda or Santiago might find helpful.

Elizabeth Swann:

With Will cursed, doomed to sail the seas as Davy Jones replacement, Elizabeth wasn’t just about to sit around at home. Using her contacts and reputation among both sides of the law in the Caribbean, she amassed enough money to start a legitimate trading company, a company she used as a front for moving pirated goods. Funding secured, she began to search for legends, myths, anything that might give her a way to break Will’s curse. Her search put her in the path of The Menagerie when they both ended up hunting the same prize. Santiago and his crew beat the crew she’d hired, so next time, she simply hired them herself. The ancient texts they recovered for her didn’t have the answers she wanted, but she was impressed with the captain, his crew, and the casual way the crew approached sex. It’d been years since she’d gotten any at that point, and while she wasn’t so desperate as to bed Santiago, she figured Will wouldn’t mind too much if it was with another woman. 

Thus began her relationship with pirates of The Menagerie. The arrangement they reached was simple, she’d help them sell any pirated cargo, and in return, they’d undertake the occasional treasure hunt for her. The fact that most of their hunts ended up with little more than trinkets didn’t dismay her. Each failure was simply one more possibility checked off. Eventually, she’d find a way to free Will. And when she did, she might see how he felt about the idea of sharing her with another man. 

The Hideout: 

Like all good pirates, Santiago has a hideout on an uncharted island in the Caribbean. To the passing ship it looks like nothing more than an average, if pretty, island cove, and the few ships who have tried to put in have discovered a rocky reef just below the surface, making entry at any time other than high tide impossible. Unless you happened to have a woman in league with the ocean aboard your ship. Moana can get The Menagerie into and out of the cove with ease, lifting the ship clear of the reef and into the shallow bay on the other side. And if that was all there was to it, it would be impressive enough, but that’s just the first defense. The true hideout is hidden behind a massive waterfall that tumbles into the bay, tall and wide enough for one to sail a ship through, if a ship could be taken through a waterfall. Once again, The Menagerie’s unique crew comes into play. Elsa can freeze the waterfall if needed, or Moana or Ariel can spell the water to part around it, granting the ship access to the cave hidden behind it.

The cave itself is large enough not only to perform most maintenance upon the ship, but to store several months of repair supplies, extra food, and to house any cargo they need to offload. A small beach inside the cave has also been outfitted with a bar, a few tables, and a raised and secluded bedroom for the captain, and as often as not, at least a few of the girls.

The location of the island is a secret held by Santiago and his most trusted allies. Esmerelda uses the hideout when she needs to meet with the captain away from prying eyes. Elizabeth uses it when she needs to collect or deliver cargo. And now and then, both have been known to use it simply when they need a place to let their hair down a little. Thank you all for sticking around! Have some titties as a reward!

In plant shop au, are Clarke and Lexa well-traveled? If not, where would they like to visit?

At the beginning of their relationship, Lexa has only had her passport for about two years, only having gone begrudgingly to Mexico when she had graduated university as a present from Anya. She didn't have money to travel growing up, and worked at the farmer's market and at a bookshop through university, saving every penny she could for the flower shop she desperately wanted to own someday.

Clarke grew up the only daughter of a well off engineer and surgeon, and had a passport from the time she was old enough to sit upright for her photo. She studied abroad in university during her art degree, Lexa leaning in with her chin planted in her hands as she listened intently to Clarke's stories about museums in France, the seaside in Italy, a wistful sort of longing dancing in her eyes.

As soon as it's acceptable to take a vacation together (read: four months in) Clarke surprises Lexa with a week long trip to the Galapagos with a sort of bashful smile, Lexa crying so hard she almost chokes when Clarke murmurs that she just wants to show Lexa the world.

They try and travel a few times a year after that first trip, from camping in the Smoky Mountains (Lexa's idea, not Clarke's), to beach vacations in the Bahamas, pasta making trips in Italy.

They sit and discuss all the places they want to go over greasy slices of pizza at their favorite hole in the wall shop, walking home with their hands swinging between them to add another pin to the map that they keep on their living room wall.

Their next trip is Portugal and Spain, Clarke dreaming of the Gaudí architecture while Lexa pours over guide books and tapas tours.
