Happy late Tuesday evening fandom. :) Ahhhh we’ve reached the ‘Feelings’ episode. I remember when it first premiered I lost my damn mind. I don’t have actual cable (cause too damn expensive lol) So I didn’t look up the preview for the next ep. I just watched it next day with Hulu. I went into this episode completely blind. When that scene came up, I went from in shock to laughing my damn ass off. Eric and Melissa get a gold star x 1000 for that scene. For the whole ep really. I can’t wait to delve into this one. I can already tell imma struggle with the gif amount ha Let’s get going.

3x09 Amber

We start off with Jackson and Lucy listing all the ways they’re excited to be graduating from the program. Nolan tagging along not adding to it cause he is stuck a month behind them LOL What happens when you go rogue and don’t listen to your T.O ya turd…but I digress. Lucy has a Lucy-Lesson themed last day planned for her and Tim.

Gotta love her for being herself no matter what. Massive respect. Tells the boys she has a list full of steps to ensure a healthy parting. Of course she does haha That she’s going to make Tim go through every single one of them. I adore this woman so much. She truly is exactly what that man needs I love it so much. Jackson asks how she’s going do this? She laughs and says trickery HA Oh Lucy I love you so.

We join our lovely duo in their shop. Lucy saying how it’s their last shift together. Tim gives her nothing. Her adding kinda crazy huh? He says ‘Not really.’ Oh Timothy fighting the feelings from the jump. Lucy can’t believe he could actually feel this way. Trying to goad him into to saying something. How they’ve ridden shoulder to shoulder for over a year now.

Tim shakes it off saying there will be a new rookie in that seat that’ll annoy crap out of him soon enough. Ok Tim… LOL Like you don’t love her ‘annoying you’ at all. Or talking about your personal life. Lucy keeps pushing it saying ‘So you’re not going to miss riding with me at all?’ Tim continues his deflection saying it’s a job not ‘happy hour’

Does he hear himself? Acting like you’re not going to miss her. Ain’t no one buying what you’re selling Timothy. His reply thrills Lucy though. Flagging all of this behavior as denial. She’s not wrong. It’s not just a river in Egypt as they say. He’s swimming in it doing laps. Tim is feeling like some Lucy like lesson is happening and says what? Lucy disregards him and plays it off with a 'Hmm? Nothing...' Baha

Lucy asks if Tim sees himself as her mentor? He says no. He’s just her T.O. That it’s his job to make sure she’s not dangerously incompetent. When Lucy is released Into the world it’s not a disaster. Did he just decide to be a lying liar when he woke up this morning? Be in an absolute denial about their bond and what he is to her? SMH Oh Tim. Lucy shakes her own head not letting him affect her in the slightest.

Tim tells her he couldn’t wait to get off probation. Lucy replies she is very excited. Then goes into saying it’s important to acknowledge the loss for them both with this. Tim gets SO defensive when she calls it a 'Relationship' So she follows it up with partnership or mentorship LOL Man is seriously in massive avoidance of his feelings about today. He doesn’t understand why she needs closure. Lucy is going to see him at the station the next day as he mentions.

Thus begins Lucy’s list. This starts when he asks what there is to talk about? It's so funny she has a list prepped and is going to make this happen. The second Tim see's this he grabs the list and chucks it out the damn window. Now if only your feelings for her could be dispatched that quickly eh Tim? She says littering is a $250 dollar fine. HA Tim replies that it was worth it. My god these two. Cracks me up so much. It’s like he’s purposely being obstinate so their eventual departure won’t be as hard.

If he’s a dick she won’t miss riding with him. Oh Tim you forget being a dick how this whole thing started my love. Naturally Lucy came prepared af with a second list. I’m dying. Did he really think his girl was only going to have one copy? You trained her Tim. Also Lucy knows you so damn well she made sure to have a second one. I adore them so much my heart may implode with happiness ha Lucy continues on without missing a beat. Like he didn’t just throw out her original copy LMAO

They get an amber alert about a child abduction. The suspect is the husband. They’re going through a messy divorce. He was removed from the hospital due to being a threat. He has a sordid past of drug use and intent to sell. It’s not good…Angela gets ahold of the mother. Says her ex will do anything to get a fix. Even selling their baby. Good lord...

Lucy makes comment to Tim how awful this is. That the mother must be going out of her mind. Tim tries to take a pot shot at psychology again in his reply. Saying how if the parents had properly worked through their separation this could’ve been avoided? Lucy shuts his ass down immediately. She knows he's trying to undermine her list and her psychology prowess. Lucy says no the mother needs to get away from this man asap.

She tells him having easier access to counseling and mental health resources could prevent things like this. Tim seems like he is being a jackass in the moment. I mean he kind of is. BUT I have no doubt he grew up in a house where mental health was discredited by his father. That it was a sign of weakness to have emotions let alone any mental health issues. I’ve said this before we are the product of our environment growing up. Even when we fight against it things still come out.

To Tim growing up psychology was stigmatized I believe. (it was for me too) So naturally his first inclination is to discredit it. Make fun of it because he doesn’t actually understand it. Leave it to Lucy teach him why it is important. How access to help and normalizing having mental health issues is important. Her next line says it all. She could not be more on the nose in her reply above.

Tim tries to turn it around again on her but she is on her shit today. Not to to be trifled with Tim. He knows she is a formidable opponent. When he says later on he’s going to miss riding with her. These are the moments he will miss the most. Her challenging him, standing up to him. Which in turn makes him grow because she shows him the world through a different lens.

Lucy does what she does best. Crushes him with her reply and throws his words back at him in the process. It’s a twofer. That look of his... He knows when she’s got him and he has no recourse. Lucy can’t help but gloat after that. She earned it and has his number. Boy is Tim so very aware of that. She’s got his goat as they say. It’s glorious.

They find out the dad didn’t take the kid. A random woman did. Now the case has shifted in a more stressful way. This portion is what I like to call 'Tell me you’re married when you’re not married.’ A Tim Bradford Edition. Lucy is freaking out waiting for the ID on this woman. Saying they’re wasting time while this baby is out there. Tim tells her she needs to get her head on right in case this goes badly.

Lucy snaps back she’s squared away. Tim disagrees vehemently by replying if she was she wouldn’t have said that… He’ starts out strong then makes the mistake of saying ‘Look you’ve been lucky on the job so far..’ Her face oh my lord. Ready to chew him out and Tim instantly regrets what he says. Love love this moment for him.

He recognizes what he’s said was hurtful and wrong. Then apologizes and says it came out wrong. Good Hubby. Well intended but very wrong. Look at our boy self correcting all on his own. So proud. He then compliments her as his continued apology. Telling her she’s been through hell, stuff that would’ve broken a lot of veteran cops. That being said he tells her a dead kid is different.

That a dead kid will change her forever. We all know he does not want that for her. She’s been through quite enough. Lucy concedes to his point. Saying she hopes their last shift doesn’t end with that. They both look emotional and Tim replies ‘ Me too...’ The most honest he’s been this entire episode with her. He knows she’s upset so he’s wonderful and brings up the list he can’t stand. Knowing it’ll distract her in the best way possible.

She lists off surrounding yourself with people who support, value and energize you. Tim is nodding along thinking he checks all those boxes for her. Then she says it’ll have to wait till later. Oh Lucy this man is all those things for you. You don’t see it just yet. He looks a little hurt she bypasses this. Like he isn't that for her. He supports and values her so much. Him asking her to revisit the list, despite his dislike of it is the epitome of what she just spoke above. Love is blind and not in the best way sometimes haha

Lucy continues on saying to reflect on lessons learned. Good and bad and express gratitude. Tim is nodding along not hating where this is going. Genuinely asking her 'What he taught her that she is grateful for?' Her answer is perfection especially because we know how this episode ends. The absolute best thing he taught her was not to second guess herself. To see the BAMF he noticed from day one. Them reminiscing about Plain Clothes Day is the best.

How one look from him could send her into a tailspin. Tim is in complete agreeance with her assessment. Even smiling thinking about how far she has come. Teaching her to trust her instincts is one of the best gifts he could’ve given her. Especially since it strengthens her resolve to go against him and what he would do. She already had that in her but he reinforced it. Taught her to trust in it even when it didn’t go his way. He couldn’t be prouder of her and this moment is a beautiful reflection of that.

Lucy takes a lovely moment and ruins it for Tim with mention of UC. Saying how trusting her instincts like she does now will be crucial for UC work. We watch the happy proud face devolve into one of worry. Tim asks her if she’s serious about being UC? Lucy seems insulted by this question and says ‘Yeah why? Do you not think I’m tough enough?’ Thinking does he not remember her successful op?

Tim tells her it’s not about being tough. He knows she’s tough. He thinks she’s too sensitive. Lucy looks so damn offended by this. (as she should be) He brings up Tamara and what she’s done for her. Her need to relive their last year plus together. Lucy defends her empathy fiercely. Saying it's what makes her a good cop. Tim tells her yes but not a good UC. Lucy is wounded and says as much 'Ouch…. ' When you know the scene you can see Lucy resetting. Formulating her plan to get back at Tim for what he said.

She starts off with a compliment. Telling him he was right. That he’ll always tell her the truth no matter how painful. Which is all true but Lucy is legit setting him up for this moment. Lulling him in. She gets serious saying she has been hiding behind her checklist all day. That she needs to tell him something she's been avoiding all day. You can see how Tim is almost holding his breath as she continues to speak. Not sure where this is going but having an inkling of it...

Let me start off with this. I truly believe there is a kernel of truth to what she’s saying here. The things she says and brings up are accurate af. The way she assembled this convo on the fly. To me means she’s had this convo before in her head. Her saying it out loud brought some truth to it. S3 is where I believe the the attraction and work flirts were kicked into a very high gear. And now she was no longer going to be his rookie.

I don’t think this would’ve been the right time for them to start IMO. They weren't ready. I’ll always be for the timeline we received and what leads them there after this ep. But to say there isn't feelings of some sort on both sides at this point is foolish. With all they've been through over the last year or so.

The minute Lucy says she has feelings for Tim it starts the overdrive for him. Lucy doesn’t even let him reply. Just steamrolls over him. He can't even get a full sentence in above. Then hits him with another emotional bomb bringing up 2x11. How he saved her life. I mean faking or not she knows the bond that forged for them. So she is starting out STRONG with saying this. Tim is in complete paralysis from the start of this 'confession'

The more she speaks the more he panics. Not because he doesn’t feel the same way. I think she’s nailing everything squarely on the head and he’s freaking out because of that. You watch Eric’s face and the myriad of emotions flitting across it. Goes from confusion, to realization, then he just panics and shuts down. She’s bringing up huge points. Him saving her life that bonded them in a way no one could ever touch.

How he is protective of her, why he doesn’t want her to go into UC is because of his feelings. To me where is the lie in this? There isn't. Now like I said Lucy is clearly doing this to get back at him. What she doesn’t realize is she’s exposing him and that explains his overloaded reaction. She’s exposing feelings he has repeatedly forced down into the depths of his soul.

Because her being his rookie he would never ever cross that line. Nor would I ever want him to. We all know Tim can’t handle his emotions well. Especially when it’s this intense. The one person who can usually guide him is the one provoking it in this moment. I truly believe she fell first. When he was a dumpster fire and there was no way in hell he could’ve reciprocated at the time. It was one way for a little while. But over time Lucy Chen has repeatedly wormed her way into his life. 2x11 was the start of those emotional dominos for him. They've been falling ever since.

I’ve said before Tim doesn’t really understand why he feels the way he does about Lucy. Only that he does and it usually a driving force for him. To Tim in this moment it feels Lucy is calling him out. That she is pulling out this deep dark secret. One he thought he kept hidden away pretty well. This gif above is everything. He is literally malfunctioning at her bringing this up. She has short circuited him and it’s so funny tbh. He can’t process anything she’s saying. Eric you are the king of facial expressions good sir.

The hits keep coming through out the scene and he can’t form a thought. Once he does his replies are so stilted and funny. He’s stumbling over himself. Trying to compliment her and not hurt her feelings. Because even if he does have hidden feelings no way in hell this man is ready for them. To face them or realize what comes with them. It shows so very much in this scene. He’s trying so hard to be delicate about this and not hurt her. I love him for it tbh. Says he's flattered 'She's a great girl. I mean woman. Uhhh....' LOL Even says crap at the end cause he is at a loss for words. She has made him speechless.

It’s then Lucy breaks and laughing her ass off. Poor Tim he was having a DEFCOM 1 panic attack. Trying to be gentle and sweet about his reply. Then she laughs. And he is so so mad at her. The way he says ‘Oh you’re sorry.’ He is not pleased. She just put him through emotional hell and just says she’s sorry. I mean it was a hell of a comeback to what he said to her. Rightfully deserved with how he told her she wasn’t built for UC.

What a straight up lie that was. Really just his desperate fear trying to keep her from it. Lucy got him real good though. Probably the best of her career in that moment. Lucy for the second time that day parrots his words back to him. Uses them against him. The capper to her moment. Listing off all the ways she just pulled off what he said she wasn't capable of. I mean well done madam. You broke him. You broke him real good. He's so upset about it.

Her 'fake' confession comes at a cost though. The tension afterward is palpable. Tim is so visibly upset. It’s not because she got him. I do think that very much is part of it. The other part is the can of worms she potentially opened. She never gave him a real chance to reply. To get his head on right. Because idk he would’ve 100 percent said no to her. Probably would've have some non comittal answer cause it's Tim. But it wouldn't have been a straight up no. Why I say this is because when Tim Bradford is sure of something he is decisive af.

Like the screenwriter question from 3x07. It was an instant and firm no. This he struggled so very hard with it. The looks between them above are *phew* chemistry personified. Never had a ship say so much with just a look. Lucy thinks he’s really mad at her because of the trick itself. Rightfully so why in the hell would she actually think he might have feelings for her?

Lucy says she made it weird didn’t she? Tim deflects and says 'Nope.' She made it weird and knows it LOL. Lucy tries again and says she was just trying to make a point. She starts to backtrack and even in his anger with her he refuses to let her do that. Says not to because if she does it’ll undermine her point. The way she smiles at him. My heart. Takes care of her even when he’s mad. Yeah no feelings there between them….

Then we reach the iconic parking garage scene. The end of an era for them both. Only fitting they do it in a spot that has held some meaningful moments. This scene is the perfect way for them to end this work relationship. One that ended up meaning far more than either of them ever anticipated. Tim denying all day how much he was going to miss riding with her. Waiting till this moment to reveal that wasn't true.

I love how the scene starts. Her saying ‘We did it’ Tim refusing any of the credit per usual says 'No you did it. 'He waits to the very last minute in his eval of her to say he will. Because well Tim. We all know and love him for it. It's a beautiful parallel to Plain Clothes day. A wonderful way to measure the immense progress she has made since that day. When all she did was second guess herself, let Tim rattle her cage most of the time and didn't trust her gut.

It was Tim’s mission to build that confidence in herself. To push her in a way that she would grow and never doubt herself again. Not only that but have the confidence to stand up for her instincts even when they were in stark contrast to his. Why his eval of her is just perfection. The words her soul had been longing to hear. The way he is looking at her while she reads this. Oh my lord. Just look at the man's eyes. Heart eyes for DAYS. Admiration and love shinning in them. Bursting at the seams with pride for her.

You know Lucy has been yearning to hear that from Tim. Long before Plain Clothes Day. Something she wanted to earn from him. Reason being Tim has always been in her corner. Seen her really seen her since day one. Had faith in her like no one in her life ever has before. She grew up starved for attention and words of affirmation. For support of any kind. Parent's who didn't see her worth. Or praise any life choice she made. I did as well unfortunately. Feel you Lucy. So you long for those you respect to give you them.

To have that reassurance you are worth it and worth investing in. Lucy has wanted this from Tim for ages. He is beaming as she is reading her last eval. All he wanted to do was continue to empower her and his parting words do it beautifully. To have him write that out and her to feel how proud he is of her is glorious. The way he is looking at her is not how one looks at his former rookie. The level of heart eyes he has for her is always unreal. In this scene it’s explosive.

The flirting, the support, the teasing it all encompassing their relationship to this point. They shake hands for far longer than is necessary. LOL As he tells her not to ever let someone tell her she can’t do something. Not even him. I love this so much. Him accepting her going against the grain and praising her for it. Ugh my heart. Having a loaded hand shake while having those looks on their faces. Idiots in love who don’t even know it. She hands him her present. Saying they’ve reached the final step. Acceptance their checklist is complete. He is grinning like a fool.

The scene finishes off perfectly with her pranking him with a call back to 2x01. The flour bomb. Fully encompassing this end of an era moment. This “gift” being her “thank you” for every lesson she ever learned. Her version of payback for all his Tim tests haha The look on her face is so damn cute. She is quite pleased with herself for this idea. Tim can’t even be mad about it. She had his number all day. Hell the last few episode really. Just shown her amazing growth right up to this moment.

Their competitiveness is one of their love languages. A massive one really. Their pranks would be another. It's another form of affection between them. It all ends up to the same thing. I adore them so much. Their final words have me squeeing. They call each other by their FIRST names with no last name attached. Which Lucy has done but a rarity by Tim.

The end of an era and the beginning of another is what this scene represented to me. The extra flirting, the extended handshake and how flirty and intimate saying each others first name was. God I love these sfm. Their slow burn is one the best I’ve had the pleasure to go through.

Phew that was a content heavy one in the best way way. Hard to believe we only have 5 left in this season already.

I ADORE Angela going back into her T.O. days just for Jackson. It’s so nice. How far they’ve come. Didn’t want him to finish up his final day as a rookie at the front desk. Bad ass woman.

The SL about the woman and her baby gets me in the feels makes me sad. Angela handles it like a pro when she gets on scene. So good.

Nyla is so good to John. Sees he’s bummed about Lucy/Jackson moving on and he’s stuck. She invites him to dinner with her and Lila. He says he doesn’t need the pity it’s ok. Damn Nolan take her being kind geez lol She turns it around says it’s not pity when he’s paying lmao Nolan is a schmuck but I do love their dynamic.

Jadi inget setelah pulang nonton The Cranberries kan venue nya jauh di Pantai Carnival, Ancol. Sedangkan kita nginep dirumah temen di Bambu Apus, Jaktim. Mayan kaan.. Disetirin sama pacar sobi gigs ku ya yg rumahnya kuinepin itu, basecamp bgt rumah diatu kalo lg ke Jkt pst mampir mau apapu urusannya. Tes Toefl Jepang, perkonseran, main, cari kerja pasti mampir. Mamanya udah sedeket itu sama kita haha.

Nah balik lg ke sehabis plg dari Ancol itu, slesei jam 2 kayanya belom jalan ke parkiran kan luas bgt ya kek Jiexpo bisa ngabisin wkt ke parkiran doang hiks. Pulang2 nyampe bambu apus kayanya jam 4an, kita ngga tidur nunggu adzan subuh dulu, pacar sobiku suruh nginep sama mamanya haha dipaksa. Nah sambil nunggu subuhan sambil liat TV ada breaking news Amy Winehouse meninggal.. Such a young age huhu.. Wlpn ngga ngikutin lagu2nya, hanya tau lagu Rehab. Tp disayangkan bgt yaa. Sempet ngikutin film dokumenternya blio di TV kabel dulu, hidupnya ya begitulah yaa huhu.

Tadinya mau milih lagu Amy Winehouse.. Taunya Dolores nyusul meninggal bbrp thn kemudian huhu

A good girl’s guide series atau yang sering disebut dengan AGGTM mempunyai 4 buku. Seperti namanya, penulis menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk menulis bukunya. Walau menggunakan bahasa inggris itu tidak menghentikan ku untuk membaca genre buku yang kusukai. Nah.. hari ini aku mau membahas bahas tentang seri pertamanya AGGTM yang berjudul A good guide to murder.

Tidak hanya mempunyai cover yang bagus tapi cerita dan plot nya tidak kalah bagus, setiap membalik halaman terdapat perasaan menegangkan karena misteri nya yang berputar. Sekali aku mengangkat buku ini untuk baca aku tidak meletakan buku itu sampai aku selesai membacanya. Percayalah karena aku membaca buku ini dalam waktu kurang dari 4 jam. Segitu serunya sehingga aku bisa tenggelam dalam cerita tersebut.

Aku sudah lama menunggu waktu yang pas untuk membaca buku ini. Buku ini sudah lama menjadi buku bestseller list, dan sekali kalian membaca nya aku pastikan kalian akan langsung membaca buku series ke- 2 AGGTM.

Tentang apa buku A good girl’s guide to murder?

Untuk Project akhirnya sebagai “role of media” Pip meneliti kasus pembunuhan lokal yang terjadi di daerah tempat ia tinggal ( Little Killton ). Kasus pembunuhan seorang perempuan bernama Andie yang dibunuh oleh Sal dan karena rasa bersalah yang bersalah Sal pun bunuh diri untuk menebus kesalahanya. Itulah fakta-fakta yang dibuat oleh para polisi dan wartawan tetapi Pip tidak mempercayai fakta itu, karena Pip mengenal Sal dengan baik, ia tahu bahwa Sal adalah laki-laki yang baik hingga ia tidak berani menyakit lalat.

Maka dari itu Pip dengan bantuan Ravi ( Adik Sal ) mereka berusaha memecahkan kasus ini dengan harapan menemukan petunjuk baru. tapi lambat laun mereka menemukan rahasia Andie yang mengejutkan. seperti ayah Andie yang selingkuh dan ibu mereka meninggalkan Andie dan adiknya, Andie menjual narkoba dan lain-lain.

Apa pendapatku tentang buku ini ??

Buku yang gampang membuat ketagihan untuk membaca nya. Penulis menuliskan cerita dengan sudut pandang Pip yang berteman dekat dengan semua tersangka. Perasaan, jalan pikiran, dan keraguan Pip bertuliskan dengan baik sehingga pembaca dapat ikut merasakan emosi dan keraguan Pip terhadap orang sekitarnya.

Kasus yang berawal tentang pembunuhan tetapi setelah Pip menyusuri, ternyata kasus Andie dan Sal lebih dalam daripada itu. Setiap Pip menemukan petunjuk yang dapat membawa nya selangkah lebih dekat dengan jawaban muncul pertanyaan baru dan bumbu romantic/cinta yang tumbuh antara Andie dan Pip yang membuat kalian tersenyum-senyum sendiri.

Buku ini membuat para pembaca memutar otak dengan teori-teori kita sendiri. Ending dari buku ini sangat tidak bisa ditebak plot nya yang muter membawa kita jauh dari pelaku sebenarnya, saat aku membaca ending nya hanya ada 2 kata di otak ku dan kata itu “tidak mungkin”. Aku mempelajari bahwa orang yang kamu pikir tidak akan mungkin melakukan itu bisa jadi pelaku dari kejahatan tersebut hanya karena ia dikendalikan oleh amarah dan iri. Amarah dan rasa iri dapat membuatmu menjadi orang yang sangat berbeda

Aku sangat merekomendasi A good girl guide to murder jika kalian suka buku misteri yang plot sangat susah di tebak dan sedikit bumbu romance. Aku yakin sekali kalian membaca buku ini kalian tidak akan meletakan buku ini sampai selesai.

Song Suggestions Wanted

My 16yr old (they/he) is currently in a youth residential treatment program after a psycotic break, planning to kill himself, and a stay in a psych ward. While they still can't have their phone they are now able to have a mp3 player. I'm putting together some playlists to put on the one I bought that's being delivered later today.

They asked for music I'm into as well as stuff I know they like but going through my & their liked songs a lot of it is too angst ridden and/or depressing. (It's almost like depression runs in the family.)

So I ask ~ what songs have helped you get through hard times? He's got an eclectic music taste so any genre is welcome.

Saturday afternoon review. Another glorious episode. The intro of their fur child. Kojo-Chen-Bradford baha A pup we all know and love. Also that we hope to get to see in S6. This is a very solid Tim backstory ep I’m excited. I’ll delve little more into the actual ep than normal. Just because it’s so tied into everything in this ep. Especially Tim’s past. I always love delving into his past. As I always tell my friend D, When I get into Tim's past I go off a lot haha I can't help it I relate so much to him. So bear with me while I rant off about him in this one. He is a subject I am very passionate about. But let’s get this ep started.

2x14 Casualties

We start our episode with our fav canine. Destroyer of chew toys Mr. Kojo. He really is a beautiful dog. The dog lover in me adores him so much. Jackson is awoken by this sweet boy and honestly handles it better than expected haha Lucy clearly has gotten him for post DOD reasons. Smart on her end. I know my dog has helped me a ton emotionally. I totally understand why she did this.

I think Jackson is very aware of reasoning and doesn’t push it. Look how cute this dog is I can not. Also how happy Lucy is to have him. She’s literally beaming and so adorable with him. Another reason I don’t think Jackson says anything to Lucy. He isn’t happy about it but won’t fight her on it either. Such a good friend putting her ahead of his discomfort about this. He knows how much she has been through so he's not going to tell her no...Oh the power Lucy Chen holds over the men her life ha

Lucy tells Tim about Kojo and he instantly thinks it’s a mistake. Discouraging her owning him. (Of course he does). Lucy is her sassy self and tells him she didn’t remember asking him. LOL Tim tells her tough. He’s there to teach her how to succeed. That adding a dog into the mix is only going to distract her. Lucy shows him a picture of Kojo. Says what if he is cute and snuggly?

You can see Tim also thinks he’s cute and snuggly when she shows him the pic haha but says that’s not the point he’s trying to make. Can tell he loves Kojo but isn’t going to give her that satisfaction right now. Lucy is too damn happy about her new pup to let Tim ruin it. He continues his interrogation and asks who’s watching him while she’s at work? Lucy replies she paid a neighbor let him out. Then asks if Jackson is ok with it? Lucy being clueless (which is a rarity for her as we all know) replies 'Why wouldn’t he be?'

First off I always love when we get tall and smol shots. They make my soul so very happy. Their height difference always gets me in the feels in a way I can not describe. This whole scene cracks me up though. Both trying so hard to top the other with who's right. It’s what they do and they do it so damn well.

It’s so cute how Tim defends himself about dogs when Lucy says he doesn't like them. ‘Wrong. I love dogs.’ LOL He is definitely not wrong about the responsibility part. They are a lot especially for a rookie trying to survive her training. Lucy mocks him and says he’s about to go off on a ‘But you were when you were my age?’ rant. Tim then does just that haha Our marriage moment of the episode.

Telling her all he’s done at her age. How he already did 2 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, Second in charge of his squad of ten soldiers. Lucy is not indulging him this time, scoffs loudly and calls him a show off haha You know he heard her but says ‘What was that?‘ Her face in those two last gifs. Be more married you two please.

They knock on the door of their call. Someone has reported a peeping Tom. They head back with the husband to their pool area. He says his wife likes to tan in the morning. A drone has been watching her the last few mornings. Tim says they can put out an alert but they’re tricky to track down.

The wife comes in and and is instantly checking Tim out. I can’t say I blame her. The man is sinfully delicious especially in uniform. She shamelessly flirty with him. He could not be cuter being embarrassed about it. That smile of his as his reaction. He’s always so caught off guard when women hit on him. Lucy’s face during the whole thing is hilarious. She’s so awkward and uncomfortable as this goes down. His polite ‘ma’am ‘ and shyness we rarely see in him. *fans self* Can’t blame a girl for trying LMAO

Lucy gets a call from her apt about Kojo shortly after they return to the station. Tim says they’re not going unless it’s a crime scene. It kinda is...One of her apt. Lucy opens the door and we see the destruction the poor boy has caused. Lucy clearly has no control over this sweet angel. He just jumps up on her when she arrives. Clearly so stressed being alone. He wants her attention. Kojo won’t get down until Tim shouts a firm command at him to sit and he does…Oh my...

Tim barking out orders like that shouldn’t be so hot and yet here we are. I am a puddle. This man does things to me I can't properly put into words haha Also his sexy and confident ‘Come on.’ afterwards. Lucy girl, it’s a miracle you get any work done around this man LOL Kojo you just met your dad and you have no idea. They go through the destruction that is her apt. Tim basically beaming with an ‘I told you so.’ energy as they explore the wreckage.

He is so pleased with himself. They enter Jackson's room and it is trashed. He is at the height of his smugness at this point. He starts taking pics of her and the damage to Jackson's room. These two and their pics of one another I love it so much. Tim says ‘I don’t have to say anything do I?’ Poor Lucy.. ‘I rather you didn’t…’ Already feeling the massive guilt for Kojo destroying Jackson's room the most.

After they leave their fur baby, Lucy and Tim join in on a suspect Nolan is chasing. He was sharing a shady SRO with the man who was found killed earlier. He took off and they end up catching him in an ally. It’s here we find out he and Tim have a history. The shock on Tim’s face gets me. There’s so much going on in that look that we don’t understand right now. Eric is conveying so much in just this small window.

We rejoin them at the station booking him. Tim looks like he's in a state of shock. Thought Mitch's life was going well post-service. Definitely wasn't expecting him to be living on the streets. Knowing he's not in a good place is bringing back all his guilt in waves. There is so much Tim is carrying in these interactions with Mitch. He asks what he's even being charged with? Lucy tells him resisting arrest to begin with. The DA will sort out the rest.

Mitch is all over Tim about what’s going on. He tells him he can’t violate the victims privacy. Mitch then pieces together his friend Joe is dead. Tim refuses to give him anymore info. Says detectives will be by shortly to talk to him. He looks so damn distraught walking away from the holding cell. Lucy points out the obvious tension between them. Tim lets her know exactly what their history is. I’m so proud of him for not brushing her off or being angry with her for asking. He’s just defeated and tells her why.

Like he wants to share this emotional burden with her instead of holding onto it solo. How far we've come. Truly. When just Isabel's name would set him off for most of their shift. Now he just tells her when she asks him. Telling Lucy things is a safe place for him at this point in their relationship. It’s a beautiful thing to watch him not even fight that. To let her know with no pretense. Allowing her to know something from his military past is huge. Something he keeps quite guarded. Watching him feeling comfortable enough to share with her. My heart. I'm not crying. You are.

Tim watches Armstrong and Nolan interrogate Mitch. The emotions in his eyes as he does is killing me. You can feel his guilt through the screen. There seems to be more than just Mitch's guilt there to me. But we will touch on that later....Nolan lets him know Joe had his neck snapped. It seemed like a professional. Mitch tells them he didn’t kill him. That Joe came to him about finding a lot of money. Pallets of cash in the millions. Found it in a building with a bunch of weaponry. Being guarded by heavy duty guys. Lots of machinery too.

Mitch says he and Joe were tight cause they were both vets. That’s why he shared the cash. But he begged him not to go back there for any more. Mitch says he feel guilty. Wishing he would’ve gone with him, because Joe would’ve gone with him. We go back to Tim and see more guilt flitting across his handsome face. The weight of what he is carrying is so evident. Kills me to watch it him bearing it alone. Harper comes in and tells them all that money is counterfeit. Really good but fake none the less. They figure out the machinery could’ve been printers from Mitch. Armstrong decides to get a search warrant and go to the building Joe found.

Naturally when they make it to the warehouse it’s empty. They ask Tim if he still believes his army buddies story? He says yes. That they must’ve cleared out of here after they killed Joe. Nolan finds some evidence. It’s linking them back to a security guy who was “fixing” a camera at their crime scene. They were about to run his face off his body cam when Grey calls them back to the station. Says they are to leave that area immediately.

Once they’re back Grey says their search warrant sent an alarm all the way up the food chain. Telling them to stop. That the path they’re on isn’t allowed for their investigation any longer. Tim asks what if it’s the path that leads them to his killer? Grey looks conflicted. Harper asks what they’re really into? He says he doesn’t know and tried to push to find out. All he knows is it’s non-negotiable. They all look very frustrated especially Tim. Grey tells them to take the night to reset. Tim goes off saying this isn't right. Armstrong says no it's not but it's a direct order.

Harper looks at Tim and he knows what he needs to do. Earlier in the episode we learned about LA Clear. Used to prevent blue on blue situations. It’s the best way for them to find out who is behind all this. What higher up agency is preventing them from investigating further. Only higher up officers can use it. i.e. Tim. They were told at the beginning of the ep the feds were in town for something. Sounds like this could be it. Harper asks what Tim thinks. He says this is clearly a federal operation and they don’t have enough information to proceed.

Tim asks Lucy how they get more clarity on a federal operation? She proudly produces the right answer and says LA Clear. He tries to get them all to step outside while he calls. Lucy being her sassy self says not a chance. Her wifey look is so cute I can not. You know he loves it when she’s fresh with him. Tim having to answer his personal security questions is too damn funny. Lucy is enjoying the hell out of this. His answers are so sporadic and funny. 'Lady Marmalade' and 'Xanadu' LOL He gets off the phone says they’ll get back to them within an hour.

Tim goes to see Mitch. Tells him he’s free to go. Naturally he wants more info on the case. Tim tells him they haven’t found anything yet. The money is gone. They’re working late on it though. Lets him know he just needs to go home. Then realizes how insensitive that is. Mitch tells him just to find his killer. That he served his country with honor. He deserves as much. You know that's hitting Tim right in the gut.

The ever present guilt on his face with Mitch hurts to watch. There’s an undercurrent of something else going on with this whole thing for Tim. More than just what happened with Mitch coming to the surface. It’s coloring everything he’s doing and saying in this episode since Mitch showed up. He gets the call from LA Clear and tells Mitch to take care of himself.

They find out it’s a defense intelligence agency OP. Harper says that’s national security. Nolan asks if they told him anything else? Tim says just a contact name. Colonel Norman Jangus. Nolan asks what a National security agency is doing printing counterfeit money for? Harper chimes in and says this is bigger than they thought. That they should take the night like Grey said. Tim says an off the books op isn’t great on a good day and today definitely isn't that.

Nolan gets a visitor. It’s Colonel Jangus. Tells him he is DIA, but his team works in the shadows. Does things people don’t want to admit to. John asks why he came to him? This is a great part and accurate. Says he’s the weak link. Lists why above. He’s not wrong those three are certified bad asses and John is well John LOL sorry dude. I'm so mean to Nolan I know ha I do like him but he is the weak link out of the four of them.

Tells him you always push on the weak link. Wants him to relay something to the other three. That it was a mistake to call LA Clear, to leave it alone. Nolan tells him they just want Joe’s murderer that’s it. He leaves with telling him every war has its casualties. That if they don’t stop he’ll end up being their next one.

Harper, Tim and Lucy show up lurking in the shadows. They were expecting him to show at Nolan’s. Do love them all in black street clothes. Looking ever bit the bad asses they were just explained as earlier. Tim was able to get a tracker on his car while Jangus rambled on. Tim says now they can follow him wherever he goes. Lucy is ready to go when Tim tries to stop her. (Why he think's he'll win this fight I do not know) No way in hell she was going to let him do this alone. She’s his partner through and through.

Harper telling them they’re more likely to survive the storm if this goes wrong than her and Nolan. She has a golden ticket and Tim has unblemished record. Says they don’t even need a reason to fire them as rookies. Lucy replies like the BAMF she is ‘ I’ve been buried alive by a serial killer. This rabbit hole doesn’t scare me.’ God I love her. Her resolve is rock solid. Nolan’s reply pales in comparison tbh LOL That unshakeable drive is one of the reasons why Tim falls for her. He doesn’t fight her any further. He's just hopes Jangus leads them to the money.

Now comes one of my favorite parts of the entire episode. Also another iconic OTP line stemming from it. They pull up together in Tim’s truck (LOVE them riding together) Lucy wastes zero time asking about Mitch’s leg. Just like earlier he doesn’t fight her on it. Doesn’t shut her out like he used to. Not even a little. I can not emphasize enough how huge this is for him. The beautiful place he has gotten to with her. This is confession time right now for him. He'd been letting it build up all day. Now he was letting the damn loose with her. Makes me so happy to watch his growth. I never tire of watching her chip at his wall one section at a time. It’s about to have another piece break off and shatter to the ground.

There is so much to love about this scene. I love her challenging him to open about this. It’s been so obviously eating at him all day. I'm just like him where I need my anxiety off loaded by someone I trust or I'll self destruct. It's clear he needs it off his chest. Lucy knows this. Knows him and it's why it's the first thing she asks when they're parked. They have a moment alone. She is going to take advantage of that. Lucy reads Tim like a book and knows he needs to talk about it. I've said this a lot but I am a lot like Tim. The more I analyze him the more that fact becomes true. I get his mentality towards things.

Where you think everything is your responsibility or your fault when things go wrong. Because when you grow up in a volatile household like he did (As did I) it was. A mistake was the worst thing you could do. So it's beaten into you that its your fault and you're given no grace by those around you. It's almost like a reflexive shame you feel when you make a mistake. It's how it is for me. I know it is for him too. So why would you give yourself any grace even when its warranted? When you are like this you need that 'Lucy' to unburden you. To have that safe space to off load that burden. To let you know not everything is your fault.

Lucy is that person for Tim and has been for quite some time. He confesses his sin to her. Like it’s a dark part of his soul he’s expecting to repel her. News flash it does not. She loves every part of this man especially the damaged parts. What he finds as absolutely shameful Lucy sees as something redeeming and wonderful. You can see above how much he is beating himself up over it. Even as he speaks the words he's chiding himself. The way his eyes dart around and how can't face her. He'a so ashamed of himself for not being by the book. To him he slipped up and it cost Mitch his leg. That's unforgivable in his book. He's so hard on himself. I relate so much it makes me wanna cry for him. Because I know that moral pressure.

I love her little smile before she tells him 'It's the most Tim Bradford thing she’s ever heard.' Because it really is. She just knows him so well. Lucy wants desperately for him to cut himself a break. To lower his high standards of himself just a bit. He won't but damn if she won't try to to change his POV on this. The reason she says that line is she KNOWS the depth of which he beats himself up for things. This is the type of situation where he is going to fault himself and flog himself mentally over it until someone stops him. i.e. Lucy.

I empathize with this on a deep level. I know that guilt driven anxiety you get when you feel you’ve wronged someone. It consumes you and feels like that feeling is bottomless. Lucy is very aware he will destroy himself over this. The reaction on his face below when she tells him it wasn't his fault. That he showed humility. Gets me right in the gut. Telling him that it’s nothing to feel guilty about is everything to him. Tim can't believe she's absolving him for this. Not only doing that but commending him for what he did. By praising him for that humility he showed Mitch.

I want to delve into his reaction above a little more for a couple reasons. One. Once again what Tim sees as weakness Lucy views as a strength. Knowing he is wracked with guilt over this. Trying to give him absolution for it. His sunshine human is striving to let him know not EVERYTHING is his fault. As much as he would like to think so. Beautiful thing is Lucy being in his life has lightened that emotional load he carries. Whether he realizes it or not she's shouldering part of it now.

Two. I said earlier there was an undercurrent of something else coloring Tim’s guilt in this episode. Something unspoken in the way he was carrying that guilt. Like it was more than just Mitch's guilt he was lugging around. I know he’s comparing what happened to Mitch to what happened with Lucy. By not being by the book he put Lucy in danger. The guilt about Mitch has also brought up the burden he still inflicts upon himself. Which is what happened to her in 2x11. There is some deep subtext in this scene. The way he looks at her when she says he doesn’t need to feel guilty. It's very telling to me.

In a way she is absolving him of what happened with Caleb. Because the situations are similar, in the fact that Tim wasn't by the book and something bad came of it. Lucy does this without even knowing she is doing so. Because in her mind she never blamed him. Doesn't even know he's added that to his emotional load. For Tim her acceptance of what happened with Mitch is hitting close to home with him. It feels like she is also absolving him of his immense amount of guilt he still feels about Caleb. It’s not something they’ve talked about yet. It’s coming but I felt this scene was a good precursor to that. Lucy reminding him not everything is on him like he thinks it is.

Even though it seems to him he's been absolved of both things he still defaults to being a stickler. That is his default mode. He just can't help himself. Letting her know ‘Rules matter boot. ‘ You can see the glimmer of tears in his eyes when he says this. Still feeling unworthy of her kindness and understanding of what he thinks he’s done not only to Mitch but to her. Lucy once again having that sassy smile asking him ‘Then what the hell are you doing out here? Sweetly calling him out for being a living and breathing contradiction.

The way he looks at her and says ‘Some things matter more.’ *heart clutch* Eric and his wonderfully expressive face. We are lucky to have him everyone. He is a blessing to have as our Tim Bradford. By saying this he is saying she matters more. That what they're currently doing matters more. Tim showing Lucy his moral compass for Mitch and Joe means more. I’ve said this before but I feel Lucy is never more attracted to Tim than when his moral compass is on fire.

It’s a raging inferno in this episode to find Joe’s killer. That bending the rules a bit to do the right thing means more. to him. That doing the right thing and the easy thing are rarely the same. Her respect and honestly love for him grows for him in this scene. As his does for hers with the previous moment. It's a slow climb to the top with them but what a view it is when we get there. It's so worth the wait.

I friggin love this shot of them. Forever adore how in sync they are in the field. All dressed in their black ops gear. Sexy Af watching them be poetry in motion together. The aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye. Watching them doing an off the book ops together. It ticks a box for me I love. They decide they need to make sure those pallets are actually the money first. Once they do that they can get Joe’s killer during the arrest. Harper asks how they’re gonna do this? Tim says no idea. LOL

Tim goes off to check it by himself. He’s so tall and you can see that as he ducks under a semi to check the container. Sexy af how tall he is to me. I would say I’m sorry but let’s not lie shall we? Ha Tim gets caught confirming the pallet has the money and sees the rest have been caught too .You can see the panic on his face when he sees Lucy has been caught. Jangus rants that he warned them and they didn’t listen. Harper then signals Angela with her sniper rifle. Trained right on Norman.

They’re at a stalemate with this. Tim wants to negotiate a settlement. I love how Tim takes control of this whole situation. Sexy af. Saying all they want is Joe’s Killer. If they give him up they walk away. Norman considers this. Then asks about the money. Tim says 'Not our problem.' Lucy pipes up and Tim looks right at her and repeats himself. Now that she’s in danger he’s not taking any more risks. That game is over. He’s gonna break one more rule tonight to keep her safe. Letting the money go.

I love him so much. If bailing on the money keeps her safe and gets them their killer it’s a win win for him. The way he stares the Colonel down as he decides. *Oh my lord* Causing me repeated ovary explosion in this one. Protective Tim is one of my fav Tim flavors haha He’s got me going more in this episode than normal. I would say I’m sorry but I’m very much not. LOL

It works and they give up one of their men as the killer. The plan worked for the most part...They didn't get everything they wanted but getting Joe's killer was the most important. It gets back to Grey and he does some rule breaking of his own. Just accepting their wild unrealistic story of how they found Joe’s killer just walking the docks. Says the paper work better be spotless on this. Harper smiles and says yes sir. This is an excellent episode all around.

Next morning Jackson wakes up and notices Kojo is gone. Lucy says she’s really not ready for a dog yet. (Or his new owner heh) That he is gone. Lucy continues on to apologize for getting him without asking his input. That she was going to pay to replace all his things. How sorry she was about all his stuff. Jackson quickly breaks and is sweet and says he did like Kojo but hopes he went to a good home. Lucy smiles and says he did.

I want to talk a little bit about Tim taking Kojo. The amount this man cares about not only Lucy but animals is prominent in this moment. He knew how much this dog meant to Lucy therefore he was important to Tim. Also taking him so she could come visit him and have access whenever she wanted. The depth of caring this man shows for her in his actions are unreal. They legit became co-parents to this dog in this episode and we all loved it. They own a dog together long before they were together. Makes me so happy I can not.

We then get this GLORIOUS shot of Tim walking Kojo. Tim looking fine as hell walking his new fur baby. Basically a model walking down the street. That sweet smile on his face as he looks down at him. He loves this dog so much already. Tim meets up with Mitch and does something I know Lucy would be beaming over. He put in a good word to get him a live in guard job. Tells him it’s not a handout. That it’s a job and a roof over his head. Mitch thanks him and he hugs Tim. He looks like he’s gonna cry. My boy. Mitch can still see the lingering guilt in his eyes.

Tells Tim ‘It’s not your fault you know?’ That what happened to him is nobodies fault. Tim is grateful for his words. Getting forgiveness for a weight he’s been carrying around for far too long. Such a good way to end the episode. Tim wipes a tear from his eye and looks down at Kojo. Tells him ‘Not a word’ LOL I love this man so much and how much he’s grown. Makes me want to cry. Damn good episode holy moly.

Today’s Topic : “What is your most and least favourite movies? Why?”

Selamat datang di microblog pertama saya. Menyesuaikan dengan brief tugas pertama kuliah perfilman, hari ini saya akan membahas film favorit dan film yang paling saya ndak suka sepanjang saya hidup di dunia ini.

Dua film yang akan saya bahas di postingan ini adalah Django: Unchained (2012) yang merupakan besutan Quentin Tarantino dan film The Doll (2016) besutan Rocky Soraya. Sampai di sini sudah bisa menebak mana yang film favorit saya? Kalau sudah bisa, Puji Tuhan syukur Alhamdulillah saya asumsikan berarti kita setidaknya berada di frekuensi yang sama.

Dan bagi siapapun nanti yang membaca postingan ini, sebelum anda berpikir “Ini bukan perbandingan yang apple to apple, wong film nya aja beda genre... perbedaannya bagaikan pagi dan malam.. fafifuwasweswos”, niat saya sebenarnya bukan untuk membandingkan kedua film tersebut secara langsung, melainkan hanya menilai masing-masing film sebagai entitasnya sendiri. Ini juga sekaligus sebagai peringatan bahwa post review film berikut akan mengandung bias namun saya akan sebisa mungkin untuk obyektif guna menepis tuduhan hate speech & pembunuhan karakter yang nampaknya mudah sekali dilayangkan pada seseorang di zaman ini. *sigh*

Tanpa basa-basi lebih banyak lagi, mari langsung masuk ke review ( beserta rant nya ) *SPOILER ALERT* Review ini tidak cukup bebas dari spoiler.

MOST FAVOURITE MOVIE : Django: Unchained (2012)

Quentin Tarantino. *Chef’s Kiss*

Film ini merupakan film Quentin pertama yang saya tonton secara penuh atas keinginan diri sendiri, namun ini bukan pertama kalinya saya ter-ekspos pada karya sutradara Amerika ini. Saya sayup-sayup ingat dulu ketika kecil kedapatan salah satu kerabat sedang menonton sebuah film yang terdapat adegan penembakan di sebuah teater dan adegan mengukir lambang swastika di jidat seorang karakter. Bertahun-tahun setelahnya saya baru sadar kalau yang kerabat saya tonton waktu itu ternyata film Inglorious Basterds (2009) yang juga merupakan besutan Quentin Tarantino. Seakan-akan semesta memang menyiapkan satu titik khusus dalam lini waktu kehidupan saya untuk berinteraksi lebih lanjut serta mendalami filmography beliau.

Django: Unchained merupakan film ke-7 Quentin Tarantino. Film Revisionist Western yang dibintangi oleh Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, dan Samuel L. Jackson yang dirilis secara worldwide pada 25 Desember 2012 ini bercerita tentang seorang Bounty Hunter bernama Dr. King Schultz (Waltz) yang mempekerjakan seorang budak negro bernama Django (Foxx) untuk membantunya menangkap penjahat buruan dan lalu membantu Django untuk menyelamatkan istrinya yang ditahan di sebuah perkebunan yang dimiliki oleh Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). Film ini dibanjiri pujian mulai dari segi performa para aktor yang membintanginya hingga screenplay dan directing oleh Quentin. Christoph Waltz menyabet banyak penghargaan sebagai aktor pendukung terbaik dan Quentin memenangkan penghargaan Best Screenplay di 3 ajang yang berbeda.

Meskipun mendapatkan banyak sanjungan, film ini juga menuai kontroversi karena penggunaan cercaan rasial serta adegan-adegan kekerasan yang ditampilkan pada film tersebut.

KENAPA SAYA SUKA?

Salah satu alasan yang membuat saya sangat senang dengan film ini (Pernah dalam seminggu nonton sampe 3 kali, ditambah nonton snippets scene-scene favorit saya di YouTube) adalah kesan satisfaction yang diberikan pada penontonnya.

Pernah gak sih nonton film yang karakter antagonis nya nyebelin banget sampai bikin anda pingin nonjok layar kaca anda? Dan yang tambah bikin kesel adalah momen ketika si protagonis berhasil memojokkan antagonis dan berniat untuk melampiaskan dendam dan hukuman atas perbuatannya, dan eh tau-taunya si protagonis mengurungkan niat tersebut dengan dalih klasik seperti “Aku tidak sama seperti mu. Jika aku melakukan ini, apa bedanya aku dengan mu?”

Ya, Quentin bilang “persetan” dengan klise tersebut. Jika anda seorang penggemar karya Tarantino, anda akan tahu bahwa karakter antagonis pada film-filmnya tak jarang mendapatkan nasib yang naas. Kebanyakan dari mereka mendapatkan hukuman yang setimpal atas perbuatan mereka dan karakter protagonis Tarantino tahu betul akan hal tersebut. Apa anda pikir jika seorang karakter menghancurkan pernikahan mantan rekan kerja mereka serta membunuh pengantinnya lalu dapat dengan tenang melanjutkan hidup seperti biasanya? Cari tahu jawabannya di film Kill Bill (2003)

Selain faktor satisfaction, yang saya suka dari film ini adalah bagaimana Quentin menggambarkan reaksi karakter-karakter nya terhadap luka yang dialami mereka, terutama secara fisik. Ketika seorang karakter terluka di bagian vital tubuh, mereka akan mengerang dan menjerit kesakitan luar biasa sesuai dengan luka yang dialaminya. Saya bukan penggemar film gore, namun detail kecil seperti ini yang menambah kesan realisme pada cerita merupakan hal yang keren & penting bagi saya. Meskipun film Quentin tidak selalu menggunakan logika yang realistis, namun detail kecil seperti ini cukup merubah cara pandang saya ketika menonton film.

Last but not least, satu elemen dalam film-film Tarantino yang menurut saya merupakan kekuatan utama dirinya adalah Dialog nya. Quentin merupakan seorang master dalam menulis sebuah dialog. Istilah “Music to my ear” sangat bisa di-aplikasikan pada dialog karakter pada film-filmnya terutama di film Django ini. Mulai dari sequence awal pertemuan Dr. Schultz dengan Django hingga perjumpaan Django dengan Stephen (Jackson) di bagian akhir film, dialog antar karakter terasa hidup dan tidak one dimensional berkat penulisan Quentin yang cermat. Orang-orang selalu menggaungkan bagaimana Quentin kerap kali menggunakan adegan kekerasan yang berlebihan sebagai ciri khasnya, namun menurut saya pribadi, kemampuan menulis dia lah yang lebih menonjol di film-filmnya.

CONCLUSION

Masih banyak hal-hal lain yang bikin saya pingin balik nonton film ini berulang kali, mulai dari soundtrack brilian hasil komposisi Ennio Morricone yang juga sering berkolaborasi dengan Quentin, Teknik crash zoom yang timing nya selalu berhasil memancing gelak tawa, penampilan para aktor dengan penyampaian dialog yang sempurna, serta sejumlah hal lainnya.

Jika saya dihadapkan dengan pertanyaan “Apa film favorit mu?”, film inilah yang pertama kali muncul di benak saya.

LEAST FAVOURTIE MOVIE : The Doll (2016)

*Menghela nafas*... Ya ampun. Saya bingung harus mulai dari mana dengan film ini.

Siang ini di forum diskusi salah satu mata kuliah perfilman yang saya jalani sedang membahas salah satu pertanyaan yang berbunyi “Menurut mu, Film itu termasuk entertainment atau art / design?”

Saya nggak akan membahas opini dan tanggapan saya terhadap pertanyaan tersebut, tapi satu hal yang pasti adalah saya nggak bisa (baca : nggak rela) mengkategorikan film ini sebagai entertainment atau art.

Film The Doll merupakan film “Horror” Indonesia besutan Rocky Soraya. Beliau berperan sebagai director dan juga co-writer. Film yang katanya berdasarkan kisah nyata dan dibintangi oleh Shandy Aulia dan Denny Sumargo ini bercerita tentang sepasang suami istri yang pindah ke rumah mewah baru dan dihantui oleh sesosok boneka iblis yang menyimpan dendam pada karakter Denny Sumargo. Film ini dirilis pada 27 Oktober 2016.

Ketika saya pertama kali nonton film ini bersama keluarga, saya langsung pergi meninggalkan ruangan di pertengahan film (Rekor ini terpecahkan ketika saya berhenti menonton film horror Danur setelah 10 menit pertama, tapi kita nggak akan bahas itu). Ketar-ketir ketakutan bukanlah alasan tepat yang menyebabkan saya berhenti menonton film-film tersebut. Saya memutuskan untuk tidak melanjutkan nonton karena saya tidak tahan dengan “horror” yang disajikan film ini atau seperti istilah yang digunakan reviewer film Cine Crib untuk mendeskripsikan film horror Roy Kiyoshi yaitu “Video penyiksaan”. Kalau anda ketakutan setelah menonton film ini, niscaya anda akan mangkat ketika nonton film Horor beneran.

KENAPA SAYA NDAK SUKA

Pertama-tama saya bingung target audiens film ini sebenarnya ditujukan untuk penonton umur berapa dan penonton yang seperti apa. Kalau para pemegang keputusan dibalik produksi film ini menargetkan penonton yang menggemari karya-karya horor besutan James Wan, maka bisa dibilang usaha mereka gatot alias gagal total. Dari poster film ini sudah bisa ditebak bahwa film ini akan sangat terinspirasi film Conjuring atau Annabelle. Ternyata istilah “terinspirasi” merupakan sebutan yang terlalu baik untuk film ini. Anda familiar dengan yang namanya “Amati, Tiru, Modifikasi”? Film ini menerapkan itu juga kok... minus Modifikasi nya aja. *tepok jidat*

Kita mulai dari dialog nya, Oh Tuhan tolonglah... Ini merupakan salah satu faktor yang sukses membuat saya mengernyitkan dahi sepanjang film (Yap... Akhirnya saya memberikan film ini kesempatan kedua dengan menontonnya sampai habis) Penulis naskah seakan menghina kualitas intelektual penonton dengan menulis dialog yang biasa anda temukan pada tugas drama anak sekolah menengah pertama.

“Sayang, kamu lagi masak ya?” “Iya sayang, kan kamu tau kalo aku lagi seneng, hobinya masak”. Ya.. Kurang lebih begitu percakapan asli antar karakter di film horror ini. Penyampaian Denny Sumargo & Shandy Aulia juga sama sekali nggak ngebantu dialog yang cringe ini.

Anda ingat diatas ketika saya tanya pernah nggak sebel sama karakter antagonis di film sampai pingin nonjok layar kaca? Anda dijamin akan melakukan hal yang sama ketika menonton ini tapi bukan karena sebal sama antagonis filmnya, tapi justru karena sebal sama filmnya itu sendiri.

Berbagai macam shot, scene, dan sequence jumpscare film ini hampir persis menjiplak dari The Conjuring. Mulai dari adegan pembuka yang niatnya menjadi backstory dari boneka jahat ini hingga spot jumpscare hantu yang loncat dari atas lemari, hampir semuanya benar-benar ditiru dalam film ini. Ketika kita berbicara mengenai tiru meniru, ini merupakan hal yang lumrah dalam dunia perfilman. Quentin Tarantino pun kerap melakukan ini secara terang-terangan dengan “menyolong” suatu adegan untuk dipakai dalam filmnya. Tapi ketika Quentin melakukannya, ia menyampaikannya dengan gaya paying homage / tribute yang disesuaikan dengan baik sesuai konteks cerita yang ditulis olehnya. Beda kasusnya dengan film The Doll ini, adegan-adegan yang “dicolong” oleh Rocky Soraya malah terasa murahan dan minim usaha dari penyampaiannya. Sangat kentara bahwa beliau hanya sekadar menjiplak tanpa memperhatikan konteks serta tanpa memanfaatkan tense yang seharusnya dibangun olehnya.

Sekarang kita beralih ke departemen suara. Scoring yang dilakukan oleh tim Profound Music sama sekali tidak membantu membangun atmosfer yang sesuai dengan suasana adegan atau tema garis besar film secara keseluruhan. Sound Effect kilat petir yang bertubi-tubi ketika adegan yang harusnya tegang malah sangat mengganggu fokus. Score musik horrornya juga sangat tidak imbang dengan apa yang sedang terjadi dalam scene. Tolong diingat kawan-kawan Profound Music, gesekan biola dengan intensitas volume yang tinggi itu nggak selalu setara dengan “Horror”. Kebanyakan begitu jatuhnya malah berisik banget tahu. Score musik pas adegan perjalanan mobil karakter Denny Sumargo sama Shandy Aulia itu juga malah kerasa kayak nonton iklan life insurance pula *banting muka ke atas meja*

CONCLUSION

Saya menghargai sebuah effort ketika saya melihatnya, namun sayang hal tersebut tak saya temukan dalam film ini. Tujuan utama film ini dibuat sepertinya memang murni untuk “cash grab” semata. Sebenarnya ocehan dan keluhan saya tentang film ini bisa dikhususkan dalam post terpisah yang mencakup mulai dari blocking karakter layaknya sinetron, elemen cerita yang nggak membantu progres plot seperti flashback masa lalu karakter Denny Sumargo yang sama sekali nggak ada hubungannya dengan plot, Penggambaran pekerjaan karakter Shandy Aulia sebagai pembuat boneka yang benar-benar nggak “believable”, fungsi peran Demien Aditya yang nihil ( Nih orang cuman muncul di satu adegan dan nggak ngapa-ngapain tapi dapet credit guest star), dan sejumlah hal lainnya.

Saya nggak mau bilang film ini sepenuhnya ampas. Interaksi kecil karakter Denny Sumargo & Shandy Aulia yang meskipun cringe bisa cukup dipercaya sehingga terlihat bahwa mereka adalah sepasang suami istri. Gelagat karakter pendukung seperti tetangga mereka juga cukup menghibur dan berfungsi untuk memajukan plot dan saya juga hargai effort untuk menebang pohon sungguhan di adegan konstruksi yang melibatkan banyak extras.

Tapi saya harus bilang, ini merupakan salah satu film “horror” terburuk yang pernah saya tonton. Saya padahal sangat menikmati pembawaan karakter tukang cukur yang diperankan Denny Sumargo pada serial tv Tetangga Masa Gitu? namun sayang talenta Denny kebuang-buang di film ini. Jujur, sepertinya film ini akan jauh lebih baik jika direction nya diubah menjadi sebuah film horror komedi. Apakah film ini layak dikategorikan sebagai entertainment atau art? Saya ndak ngerti, tapi yang jelas semoga film ini bisa menjadi contoh bagi calon-calon pembuat film horror agar tidak mengulangi kesalahan yang sama di masa yang mendatang.

Saya pikir cukup sampai disini dulu pembahasan topik kali ini. Terima Kasih banyak bagi yang sudah rela menuangkan waktu berharganya untuk membaca tulisan blog pertama saya ini yang jauh dari kata sempurna dan kiranya mohon maaf bila anda menemukan kata atau kalimat yang kurang berkenan di hati. Itu bisa jadi karena memang saya yang salah dan mesti dikoreksi atau karena memang anda saja yang salah tafsir. (Lagipula sudah saya tegaskan bahwa ini kan review / opini bias juga, sudah pasti tak jauh dari subyektif)
