feysand x reader: the afterglow
set after getting together but you don't necessarily have to read that to understand this one!
under the cut bc its over 1K!
tw: a bit of anxiety
-After you guys officially mated, you knew the world was gonna take it weirdly.
-There’s never been a triad bond that would be so well known.
-To be honest, you were mostly nervous about how the inner circle would react.
-You knew they loved the three of you dearly. But you also weren’t stupid and knew this was unconventional. You also knew you were freaking over nothing but alas, you were still anxious about it.
-In the middle of the frenzy, Rhysand sent a message saying that you had accepted the triad bond and you three would be gone for a bit.
-When you guys came back, it was a party. Mor had hung up a banner that said “congratulations!” There was a buffet table full of foods that Elain had clearly worked so hard over.
-Cassian was
collecting coins from everyone?
“I bet that you’d be the first to make the first move.” He explained.
Technically, he wasn’t wrong. It was you yelling at them that made the first move.
“Did everyone know before we did?” you asked as he collected a few coins from Azriel.
“Well, Rhysie isn’t subtle. Feyre was oblivious to your struggle just like she was to Rhysie-“
“Hey!” Feyre pouted. “You aren’t wrong, but hey!”
You kissed her cheek. “And you!” Cassian pointed to you. “Are affectionate with everybody! Do you know how hard it was to convince Feyre and Rhysand that you actually liked them like that!”
“I’m so sorry my reluctance to fuck our friends made your life harder.” You said dryly.
He scoffed, “better be!”
“Quit yelling at my wives, Cassian.” Rhysand said darkly, the alpha-asshole coming out.
“Here we go.” Feyre muttered.
“Made it two minutes this time.” Mor added.
“Instead of two seconds.” Amren finished.
Cassian gave you a smile that you had you wincing, because you knew what was coming. “Hey Y/N, want a ri-“ He didn’t get to finish because of the punch to his stomach from Rhys.
“Welcome to the family.” Mor nudged you. “Even though you were already in.”
“I’m just relieved I don't have to see Y/N pining anymore.” Nesta said from the doorframe. “Over twenty years of that bullshit.”
You should’ve hit her harder when you were kids.
Azriel, Lucien and Elain, like the sweethearts they were, just smiled without a sarcastic comment.
-Your next worry was Nyx. How would you fit into his life? Would you be a stepmom or another mom?
-You easily loved him more than anything, that was even before being mated to his parents. Now? Somehow you loved him more.
-You were holding him one day when Rhysand sat down next to you on the porch swing. You were just enjoying the breeze with your-well it felt wrong to call him your son but you were his parents' wife?
“How are two of my favorite living beings?” Rhysand said kissing you.
“Good but what kind of greeting is that?” You chuckled.
“I know he’s a person, but it’s weird to call him that. He’ll always be my baby.” He cooed and brushed back Nyx’s tuft of hair.
Rhysand sat next to you, putting his arm around your shoulders and pulling you into his side. You leaned as much as you felt comfortable with Nyx in your arms. You didn’t like not being on your guard when you were holding him. He was precious.
Rhysand kissed your temple, you felt peace. You were just missing one vital part. Feyre usually came home from the studio around this time. Rhysand and you had accidentally made it a tradition to sit out on the porch and wait for her.
“Do you want kids?” Rhysand asked. “You don't have to answer now.”
“I mean, I kinda have one now. Kind of late to say no.” You giggled and gestured to Nyx. “He may not be biologically mine. And I can be a stepmom or stay Auntie. Whatever’s the most comfortable with you and Fey. I don't want to overstep.”
“Would
.would you be one of his moms?” Rhys asked, you could tell he was incredibly nervous.
“I would be honored.” You whispered, your gaze never leaving the baby's sleeping face.
You missed the look of utter adoration that Rhys shot your way.
Pretty soon, Feyre joined you guys on the porch coming home in paint splattered overalls and a paint stained face. She was glowing, you could tell how happy that studio made her. It made you incredibly happy.
She leaned down to kiss Nyx, then you, then Rhys who pouted about being last. But he was okay with it, he loved your family so incredibly much. It kind of scared him what he’d do to protect it.
Later that night, Feyre came up behind you in the mirror as you got ready for bed. She pressed her head against yours. Your cheeks lined up perfectly and were smushed together. Her arms were wrapped around your waist.
“You are his mother, if that’s what you want to be”. She whispered. “I may have birthed him, but I would be honored to share the mom spot with you.”
“Fey, I just did my skincare, you can’t make me cry like this.” You said, your voice wobbly. She squeezed you tighter in response, her nose scrunching with her closed mouth smile, her eyes half closed and lips scrunched slightly. She kissed your temple and went back to Rhys.
That was that. Rhysand was dad/daddy, Feyre was mom/mommy and you were mama.
-The next thing on your list was how the court would see it. The Inner Circle doesn’t give a shit (which was to be expected) but the Court of Nightmares? That’s where you were worried.
They didn’t take to Feyre that well, then Nyx. Now you.
Rhys called you out on your bullshit one night while all of you were getting ready for bed.
“What’s up with you? You’re more nervous going to the Court of Nightmares than you were before.”
“Well, we weren’t mated then.” You said back, you tried to avoid being snippy but your stress levels were high.
Clearly, he knew you were being snarky because he gave you a raised brow and held his hands up in surrender. You sighed. “Ugh, baby I’m sorry.” You said. You set down your hair brush and crawled into his arms.
His chest shook with restrained laughter. “Love, you’re allowed to be nervous-“ He was cut off by Feyre coming into the room.
“Ooh, are we snuggling?” Feyre said. And with the excitement of a five year old she catapulted into bed.
The three of you bounced and laughed. “I’m nervous about going to the Court of Nightmares.” You admitted, playing with a string on the blanket to avoid looking at Feyre. You could avoid Rhys’ gaze easily since you were sitting with your head laid against his chest and in between his legs.
“Why?” Feyre brushed your hair behind your ears.
“Because
” You made a helpless gesture. “It's really scary.”
“You’ve been there before?” Feyre asked.
“Yeah well I wasn’t fucking the High Lord and Lady.” You sighed.
“Okay, you aren’t just fucking us.” Rhysand squeezed your hip. “You’re our wife. What label do you want them to know you as? Consort?-“
“I’ll rip your dick off.” You growled. “Consorts aren’t treated with the respect they deserve.”
“Agreed.” He said.
“Do you want political power?” Feyre asked with zero judgment.
“You know that’s not why I married you two.” You grumbled.
“But would you want it?” Rhysand pushed. His hands roaming over your skin, he knew how much the contact helped your anxiety.
You shrugged. “It’d be a massive adjustment. However
.I’d love to help people and actually have the power to do so. But there’s
”
“Hm?” Feyre continued to stroke your palm.
“This is gonna sound bad but I don't mean it to be.”
Feyre smiled and based on the pulsing down the bond, Rhys was too. So you continued. “There’s no room for me to help rule.”
“Who says?” Feyre challenged.
You sputtered and Rhys decided to take you out of your misery.
“You know, there also wasn’t such a thing as High Lady when Feyre came into our lives.” He stroked down your back, his hands ending at your hips.
“And?” You asked.
“I rewrote that rule, and I’ll rewrite it again for you to be in it. You are our equal in every way and I refuse to let you be reduced to a ‘consort’ that is, if you want to be a High Lady.”
And that was it. The next day, the day you were supposed to head to the Court of Nightmares, you delayed it. Much to the confusion of your Inner Circle.
You were sworn in as a second High Lady.
How the Inner Circle found out was quite funny. Az had a feeling, Nesta and the Valkyries were happy for you. Mor and Amren just looked at Rhys with a secret High Lady? Again! Cassian used it as an excuse to celebrate that night so the group could ditch their Court of Nightmares persona.
When Azriel introduced you, he said, “Rise for your High Lord Rhysand, Highy Lady Feyre and High Lady Y/N.”
The three of you walked in, you in the middle, Rhysand and Feyre on either side of you.
You felt beautiful, respected. Even though you knew Keir would be a problem.
You were alright with those problems, as long as you had your family with you.

"Stay out of it. She's not ready, and neither is he, no matter how many presents he brings." - ACOFAS
(Their book was not next)
"Let's focus on helping one sister before we start on the other."
"Shall I tend to my little garden forever?"
"He'd never once in the two years he'd known her found Elain to be plain, but wearing black, no matter how much she claimed to be part of this court (the Night Court) ... it sucked the life from her."
"But Elain ... The Spring Court had been made for someone like her."
"With a new war possible and Briallyn up to her bullshit with Koschei, we need a strong ally. We need the Spring Court's forces."
"We need to tell him the news, and permanently station him (Lucien) at the Spring Court to contain any damage and to be our eyes and ears."
"Lucien can't be entirely trusted anymore."
"He should have asked someone before coming here how much time remained before Vassa would be forced to return to the continent - to the sorcerer-lord at a remote lake who held her leash, and had allowed her to leave only temporarily, as part of a bargain Feyre's father had struck."
"Lucien stared out the window - as if he could see the lake across a sea and a continent. As if he were setting his target."
"Find me when you wish to begin."
-- *contains minor HOFAS spoilers*--
There are so many more quotes I could include, but yeah. I just feel like elucien's book has been set up so perfectly in SF. And from what I've read, I just cannot comprehend how their book won't be next.
Vassa's time is extremely limited and the matters with Koschei seems rather urgent. Especially Tamlin and the Spring Court! We have Lucien back in Spring, who we appearently cannot entirely trust, and then we have Elain and how the Spring Court was made for someone like her. Who doesn't fit in the Night Court. Who finally wishes to spring into action.
Yes, Azriel had his own bc. But Elain was in that very bc as well as being mentioned in feysand's bc. She and Lucien were mentioned actually. Azriel was not.
Elain was also absent in HOFAS even though (as of SF) she no longer wishes to remain a passive character. It takes place months after the events of SF and (from what we've gathered) it doesn't seem like Azriel has it all figured out yet. Gwyn also returned to to library which, to me, seems like their story is put on hold... for now. Especially with Elain (finally) wanting to take action.
So my guess is that elucien's book is next and takes place before/during HOFAS, which would explain Elain's absence due to her not residing in the Night Court while Bryce was there.
While gwynriel's book happens during/after the events of HOFAS.
Having Azriel's book last is also a smart move from a marketing perspective since he is by far the most popular character. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

15 with feysand??? đŸ„șđŸ„șđŸ„ș
"just shut up and fuck me," with Feysand <3
warnings: heavy flirting?
for my one year drabbles celebration
You were sick of the teasing. It had been months of back and forth, them insisting on taking your relationship ‘slow,’ and doing it ‘right,’ like there was a wrong and right way to handle a relationship. Well, you supposed there was but right now you were at your wits limit with their bullshit.
You brushed a hand against Rhys’s thigh, enjoying how it tensed underneath your touch. Feyre’s attention zeroed in on you. You sighed, pulling your hand back towards yourself and shifting to the end of the couch. How bold could you go?
You began running your hand up your own thigh, fingers disappearing beneath your dress. Not far enough to feel yourself, but just to offer a slight tease.
“What are you doing?” Feyre’s voice was hoarse.
“Fixing a problem,” you pouted slightly. “It won’t go away.”
Her breath hitched.
“You could just ask if you needed help,” Rhys purred, “I’d be happy to a-” You cut him off, “then just shut up and fuck me.”

@acotar-omegaverse-week Day 1: Nesting
Summary: When Rhys set out to collect his dues from the head of the Archeron house, he knew the man would be begging for more time. What he didn’t expect was to be offered the youngest daughter as collateral.
After spending only a day in the temperamental woman’s company, he found himself utterly enthralled with his new guest—and with no intention of letting her father scrape together the funds that would grant her her freedom.
AN: I forgot to mention, thank you @sajirah for being my awesome beta reader!
CW: Manipulation tactics???
Chapter IV
Rhysand
Rhys had been staring at that damn camera for far too long. And yet he couldn’t bring himself to focus on anything but the sweet little omega he’d come to possess. His second, Amren, had certainly made her views on his recent choices well known. His people were right. It had been a stupid decision to rope her in, considering everything else they were dealing with at the moment. He didn’t need a wild omega causing trouble for him in the middle of a turf war. And yet he refused to send her packing.
The next time he glanced over at his phone, she’d sat up in the bed, her attention immediately catching on the pile of nesting fabrics that had come in yesterday afternoon. Despite what little faith his cousin had in his planning for all of this, he knew exactly what his pet was longing for after her punishment. Now that everything had been put through the wash, he was happy to deliver it.
The only question now was how long she could fight her instincts with that material waiting for her. Not long, he imagined. Being in the constant company of four alphas was going to start putting some changes on the fast track. It was only a matter of time before she would be pushed into her first heat. This time next week, he had no doubt she’d be begging for his knot.
Feyre crept forward, letting herself reach out and brush her fingers over the softest blanket—the one item he hadn’t been able to stop himself from taking from his own room. At least he’d kept all of his hoodies and suit jackets in his own closet. It only took a second for her to snatch that hand back, shaking her head and rushing away, straight into the bathroom and out of camera range to presumably go through her morning routine.
Rhys locked his phone with a sigh. It was a start all the same. And he was a very patient man. ~~~~~
Feyre
Four hours.
Feyre was able to distract herself from the pile of pillows and blankets for four hours, indulging in one of the romance novels Mor had brought her with breakfast and an apology for her role in testing.
Feyre the day before. “What’s the harm?” she muttered to herself. “It’s just some blankets. I’ll never call this place home.”
She knew it was a bribe. A small comfort Mor had convinced her captors to grant her in a hope she’d stop acting out. It wouldn’t work, but she could still take advantage of the offering. She’d earned something for herself, putting up with their bullshit the past two days. The bastards had even taken her shoes, though that might truly have been a consequence of her own actions. Either way, it was time she spoiled herself with something.
An hour later she had a decent nest. The silky sheets and butter-soft blankets twisted together in an ovular shape with the provided pillows nestled in odd clusters near the head of the bed, the one exception being the firm body pillow she was a little too tempted to cuddle up with at the moment. Just before she could give into that appeal, a knock fell on the door. She was coming to realize at least a couple people here had something resembling manners. “Yes? Come in,” she sighed, less snappish than the day before.
A moment later her tone was the last thing she was concerned with. Because the third man, Azriel, was standing in her doorway—the doorway, his scent rolling off of him. The dried stains near his collar and sleeves told her he’d recently finished some sort of workout, apparently running too short on time to consider showering.
He smelled delicious. She forced herself to take a deep breath through her mouth, trying to clear her head before she opened her mouth and made a fool of herself. Or worse, stuck her nose where it didn’t belong. Literally.
“H-hi. What’s going on?”
He smiled. “I thought you might be hungry by now. And tired of your room. If you’d like we can take a walk and have lunch outside. I figured if I was going right back outside it was better to wait to wash off,” he explained, a slight smirk on his lips when he noticed where her eyes kept drifting to.
She blushed slightly. “A walk would be nice. If I had shoes.”
That smirk broadened. “The path in the back is all grass and smooth stone. You won’t need shoes. It’s also completely fenced.”
The neutral expression she’d managed to hold morphed into a scowl. “I’m not going to try to run again.”
“Yet.”
“At all,” she lied. She needed a better strategy, sure, but she wasn’t going to sit here like a good little doll for them to amuse themselves with. She huffed. “Lunch sounds good.”
Already dressed for the day in a suitable cotton dress, she didn’t have anything to do before following him out the door and to the stairs. Leading her down a long hall on the ground floor, he finally opened the door to an impressive sun room, revealing the walking path behind the estate.
“Why are you doing this?” she asked as he pulled a chair for her. “You all were content to lock me in for breakfast and dinner.”
“Because you’re a human being, here by no fault of your own. And because I know the toll it takes, being left in isolation. Even if you despise your only options for company.”
For just a moment Feyre thought he was going to elaborate, but just as quickly as that shield cracked it was repaired. And why should he spill his history to her? A random teenager his boss brought into their home on a whim.
“Don’t expect any sympathy beyond that, though. The rules stand as they are. Cassian and I are loyal to Rhys alone. “As are any other members of our organization.”
“Is that what you’re going to call it?” Azriel narrowed his eyes. “I’m not a child. I know what my father got himself into. What kind of people come knocking on doors for money they’re owed. Why you wear weapons as casually as clothes. I’m not a child and I’m not stupid.”
“No,” he mused. “I suppose you’re not.” ~~~~~ Rhysand
Whether she put the pieces together or not, Feyre’s small outings weren’t entirely an act of grace. Yes, he knew Azriel would feel like a guilty bastard if she was locked in. Anyone with half a heart would, himself included. But he needed to know when she started to become reclusive by choice. There was no doubt in his mind being so active with the members of the household would bring on her heat.
And the experiment was a success. Three days after her lunch with Azriel she made her first excuse to stay in her room. By the fourth she was obsessively nesting, unconsciously inching close enough to scent whoever decided to visit her room. He'd left his suit jacket on her bed that evening. By accident, of course.
On the fifth morning he opened the surveillance on his phone to find the flat sheet and summer-weight blanket kicked to the foot of the bed, his sweet girl having already raised her nightgown to her waist line, two fingers hidden behind the fabric of her panties. Rhys would bet anything he’d walk into that room to find her flushed head to toe.
He smirked to himself. It was time.

ACOTAR Q+A:
‹🎀 a ship others like but you don't?
🌾 a ship others dislike but you don't?
👛 your favorite canon couple?
💕 a ship you'd defend with your life?
đŸ–€ a character others like but you don't?
📞 a character others dislike but you don't?
đŸ•·ïža character you feel is underrated?
♟a character you feel is overrated?
Hi anon, thank you so much for your questions how fun!
🎀 el*cien/g*ynriel 😆 there truly are no other ships that I don’t like
🌾 I don’t think this is a super wide problem but I’ve been seeing a lot of Nessian hate recently & I still love them
👛 feysand, but honestly there isn’t any canon ship that I don’t like.
💕 elriel. Every damn day!
đŸ–€ L*cien - and not even for any ship reasons. I could have got behind any defence of his actions, up until he tried to force Feyre back to Ta*lin. That did it for me, I was done.
đŸ•·ïž Emerie. Again, this isn’t a dig but I do wish we saw more love for her in the fandom. On my (many) re reads of ACOSF, I always really really, really love her and Nestas friendship. (That’s not to say I don’t love Nesta & G’s friendship either, but we’re talking about under hyped characters lol). And I just love her straight to the point, no bullshit personality.
♟ lol. L*cien. Obviously I don’t like him, but I don’t begrudge others who do - I just don’t understand the way a lot of his stans will fight to the death for him, and curse you, your children & your children’s children if you dare even think about criticising him. I don’t get the need to defend him that violently.
Ps - sorry this took me so long to respond to 💕

I recently saw a theory about the Elucien bond being fake or missed assigned.
This is what it said:
The cauldron lie because when Elaine was made AZ was dying and so it picked the next suitable male.
Also; feyre and Nesta describe the bond as a tug on their soul whereas Elain describe it as a thug on her ribs.
I call BS.. pardon my French, because there is so much more that debunk this however what are your thoughts?
First, what kind of bullshit system would mating bonds be if they were randomly assigned simply because one person was injured? 😂. If that's the story we're going with than why was Feysand made mates while she was human, with a mortal lifespan and near starvation at certain points?
Mating Bonds aren't randomly given, they are decided well before people are even born (we have proof of this in the TOG series). New mates aren't assigned in adulthood just because one person from the pairing is injured. Azriel wasn't dead despite his injuries and I'm pretty sure the system that decides who is paired with who isn't going to randomly look at a bleeding guy and go "hmmmm, there's a chance he's not making it, on to the next random Fae male within Elain's vicinity!".
I think this is yet another attempt to discredit the Elucien bond because for all the cries that Elain doesn't want a mate and how Elucien's don't respect that, I think the bond still a worry for them considering SJM is a Fated Mates author.
This is how Feyre once described Rhys pulling on their bond:
I was pulled from sleep by something tugging at my middle, a thread deep inside.
If Feyre can feel a tug in the general area of her stomach ("her middle") or possibly lower since middle is probably more in the area of your intestines and she turned out to have a legitimate mating bond then I feel confident that Elain feeling a tug near her ribs (which protect the heart) is a bit more romantically coded and would also indicate her bond with Lucien is real.
The only time the bond is described by Nesta or Feyre as a thread between souls or something merging them together is when the bond is consummated:
until I felt and saw and smelled that bond between us, until our scents merged, and I was his and he was mine, and we were the beginning and middle and end. We were a song that had been sung from the very first ember of light in the world.
The golden threads shimmered and sang, and she couldn’t take it, the music between their souls, the feel of his body on her and in her, and—
Since Lucien and Elain haven't been physical (yet), we're not going to have the same kind of language in reference to their bond. Lucien went a bit feral over Elain being taken back to the NC. Mor used her gift of truth on him. Az can scent the bond. Elain and Lucien both felt the bond snap at the same time. Feyre used her demati powers to slip into Lucien’s mind and confirmed his feelings and instincts towards Elain as being sincere.
Not only would it be really odd for SJM to have to turn around and explain how every single person was rendered completely clueless for multiple books by this supposed false mating bond but what would the point of it be?
"Your bond is fake".
"Oh, thank goodness! I'm so relieved we spent the last two years feeling angst and confusion and guilt over the past loves we thought we were betraying, all for nothing! Now we're free to be with who we want even though we could have been with whoever we wanted the last two years anyway since we really didn't spend that much time together in the first place. Let's shake hands and part ways, sorry about all the discomfort and tension!"
It just makes no sense and I get they're trying to pull a TOG storyline to make a mating bond between E/riel a possibility but no villain is trying to have Lucien or Elain swear loyalty to them because they're so distraught over the loss of their mate who was never actually their mate. Lucien and Elain aren't really talking so what does a fake mating bond add to the plot? Not only are they not talking but they're both spending time with the character who some claim are their "true mates". Which again, doesn't make sense if the goal was to keep them away from their "true mates" đŸ€Š

It annoys me so much when people says is useless and always was.
Like from their argument, I just know that they sent into the books already biased.
Everything they dislike (her being useless in the books, not growing vegetables
) so much about Elain can be debunked with the books but they keep ignoring cause otherwise they won’t have any reason to dislike her.
You know what anon... you are so right.
They see things online and go into the books with their minds already set in stone and read the books with that mindset. They don’t pay attention to Elain’s scenes so they are always spreading bullshit theories about her when the things they say can be debunked only with a few sentence of canon.
Also it doesn’t help that you have to pay attention to Elain to understand her. Her words about “no one ever looked—not really” hits so close to home with that. Elain’s problem is that no one ever pays attention to her wants and and needs and choices... and this fandom is literally doing what the characters in the books are doing—not paying attention to her. When it is blatant in the books but they are so biased and hate her that they ignore her.
On my first read of the books I was so obsessed with Feysand that I didn’t really pay attention to others that much. When I finally joined the fandom I read Elain’s scenes again and it was such a shock to see how much I missed and how much foreshadowing she has. In my opinion Elain’s foreshadowing is one of the best Sarah has done. There is so much.
This scene on its own is a masterpiece of a foreshadowing because it also ties with the Nephelle Philosophy.
Even wasted away by grief and despair, Elain’s beauty was remarkable. Hers was a face that could bring kings to their knees. And yet there was no joy in it. No light. No life.
The Cauldron purred in Elain’s presence as the King of Hybern slumped to his knees, clawing at the knife jutting through his throat. Elain backed away a step.
I raised a brow. Azriel shrugged. “We—Rhys, Cass, and I—will occasionally remind each other that what we think to be our greatest weakness can sometimes be our biggest strength. And that the most unlikely person can alter the course of history.” “The Nephelle Philosophy.”
So... you are right anon. And that’s why I think that when the time comes this fandom is in for a very rude awakening. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

Hi idk if you are taking requests or not but can you make an angst fic where y/n (OR OMG FEYRE) and azriel are going behind rhys's back and rhys and reader are mates. Maybe like rhys goes "So Az this is what you really meant by 'I think the cauldron making a mistake?' The mistake was that my mate shouldve been yours?' And az and reader or feyre just say idgaf we love eachother and just omg rhys spiralling and them saying we should prolly stay apart for his wellbeing but i still love you???
too much?
I am 100% a Feysand shipper, but it is really interesting to write about Feyre and Azriel. Hope you like it. This is btw inspired by a scene from The Crown.

The High Lord’s power stretched out like a dark cloud, enveloping Feyre and Azriel, making their stomachs churn and twist.
“I demand an explanation from you!” Rhysand shouted, his voice bouncing of the wall and rumbling through the wall. The power that rang with it could shake the Illyrian mountains.
Not for once had Azriel and Feyre believed that they could keep their relationship a secret–yet they had hoped. That hope had vanished just like every happy feeling they had once felt. Their betrayal became public.
“Why do you this?” Rhysand growled and snapped his head into the direction of Azriel. He grabbed the shadowsinger by his arm, glowering into his eyes.
Azriel shoved the High Lord backwards, his features nothing but pure rage. “Because I care about her. Morning, noon and night I care about her. I love her with my whole heart and she does too.” Azriel’s shadows encircled him, crawling up their owner and forming something like a protective armor.
“You are just too blind to see it. With what you are saying you hurt her. And if you hurt here, if you hurt Feyre, you hurt me.”
Azriel pointed at his chest, right to the spot above his heart.
Rhysand closed his eyes, fighting against the rage burning inside him. The veins in his neck and on his forehead popped, his hands forming fists at his side.
“You are stealing my wife. You are stealing my mate, my High Lady and you dare speak about me hurting you!” the High Lord growled, shouting.
“It wasn’t his choice. Azriel is who I want. He is the one where my loyalties lie. I
The cauldron must have made a mistake.” Feyre stepped forward, leaving some distance between her and the shadowsinger to not enrage Rhysand anymore.
“I am the father of your son—“ “Don’t bring Nyx into this!” Feyre’s voice trembled, her legs feeling wobbly. Azriel wanted to reach over, hold her, but through mind-to-mind talk Feyre stopped him. They couldn’t do this to Rhysand in that moment.
“I am the male the Cauldron has chosen for you. I am the one you accepted the bond with. You fucking betrayed me. My brother and my mate. Was this what you meant when you said that the Cauldron made a mistake—that you deserved what his mine, Azriel?” the High Lord once again addressed Azriel, stepping forward and poking his index finger into the shadowsinger’s chest.
“You cannot blame him. I am the one who chose him as well. I am the one who betrayed her husband, her mate. Don’t put all the blame on him, Rhysand.” The High Lord’s gaze snapped to his High Lady’s, tears brimming his eyes. His mouth opened and he shouted, shouted so loudly that the cutlery in the kitchen rattled.
“Did you ever love me? Or was it all fake? Was it all fake from the first moment on? Every I love you? Every nice little thing you told me? Did you fake it all just so you could be close to him?”
Power once again radiated from the fuming High Lord. Azriel sucked in a sharp breath, his own hands forming fists at his side.
“I loved you, Rhysand. More than anything. I loved you for centuries, but I started falling out of love with you in the last decades. I am so sorry, I wish it had been different. I wish I could have—“ “Spare me with this bullshit,” Rhysand spat and slammed his hands over his face. A sob left him that made both Feyre and Azriel’s chests clench.
“Rhys—“ “Don’t,” Rhysand said and lifted a hand. “Don't talk to me now. Don’t ever talk to me again. You two truly deserve each other. Leave, leave this place. Leave Velaris and leave me alone. I never want to see you again.”
It was the last thing their two of them heard before black mist appeared and the High Lord was gone, vanished into thin air.
It was then that Feyre let her tears run free, sobbing. Azriel wrapped her into his arms, held her till there were no tears left to cry. Her shoulders still shook when they started talking—talking about what they should do from now on.
“I love you so much, but you know what we have to do now,” Azriel whispered, his own shoulders, trembling.
Feyre dipped her chin and wiped a hand over her tear-streaked cheek. “I love you, Azriel.” “And I will come find you. I will find you again, Feyre. I will come for you. Please—“ Azriel’s voice broke, scarred, trembling fingers curling around Feyre’s wrists. He pulled the female to his chest and kissed her forehead. “Please wait for me.”

You’re right, it is rough for us new folks. It’s frustrating trying to navigate when so many people spew hate towards each other.
I’m getting so tired of seeing “If you believe ___, then you have no reading comprehension.” Even from people whose opinions I agree with.
It’s gotten better as I’ve blocked people/filtered tags, but back when I first got here, it was awful.
I'm putting all my opinions under a cut just because it was long, and not because it was triggering
I think, from my perspective, it's two separate things. On the one hand, the obsession with canon, whether people want to admit it or not, stems from this belief that all the shippers they personally hate will HAVE to leave once we get book confirmation.
Which, of course, explains the sizable Azris/Neris community. That's how that works.
It always gets dressed up "well I just want the "bad" shippers to go" without admitting they want EVERYONE to leave, AND that their aggressive behavior only punishes the people who are trying to ship and let ship outside of the bullshit. The people in love with fighting won't leave, they'll simply rebrand into an anti account.
And secondly, this belief that it's SooOOOOoOOOOooOOOooo obvious what the next book is about from an author who retcons her own world building book to book and has done so since the inception of this series. Which like, to some degree, is the one thing everyone agrees on, but only conditionally and only when it suits them.
So canon becomes a convenient, inconsistently applied weapon in which some folks can beat others over the head with to shove their very specific interpretation of the books onto others- this happens even IN the ship (see: I'm, apparently, not really an elucien and I owe that one redditor who claimed I "sometimes" wrote elucien and was a feysand/gwynriel an apology LMAO). I've watched people within the ship itself fight smaller, newer accounts because their vision doesn't align with what often what amounts to a fanon interpretation ANYWAY.
Ultimately, none of this would be any of my business (and its not lost on me I was vaguing people instead of just calling them out directly), except for the amount of people who routinely slide into my DMs talking about how nervous they are to interact, how other people have come after them with sharp teeth for the crime of different head canons/ship preferences. I take that personally, I guess, because I remember being new and nervous and like, people were mostly very welcoming and kind.
This is everyones hobby, and it's both not serious, not life threatening, or worth a lot of the vitriol that happens day to day. I wish folks would consider the question, "who cares?" when it's not offensive or harmful.

8,14,16 for fic asks
Dude that was fast lmaooo
Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story?
That literally depends on what scene sparked the inspiration for the fic. But it's mostly the beginning and rarely the end because I never know how to wrap up a fic, it's always the same
How do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?
I don't like to write emotional scenes bc I feel like it comes out flat but I am an empath and did cry once or twice while writing a scene. I don't really have a specific way HOW I write them, I just do and no, I wouldn't say I draw from personal experience
How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Literally, there's always some half baked shit in my mind but y'all mostly get that as my Feysand AU's lmaoooo
I think I mentioned that I have an idea, for quite some time now, where Mor finds Feyre as an abandoned baby and raises her
I have a Feysand idea that plays jn a gilmore girls AU. Rhys is Luke and Feyre Lorelai and Tamlin is Christopher but I'd rather kill Tamlin off then make him hop in and out of his child's and Feyre's life like Christopher did in gilmore girls
I do want to write a fic about Feyre postpartum with real struggles because in media it often gets presented as "Wow you birthed a baby and 5 minutes after you're back to how you were before the pregnancy" and even as a cis woman who never went through pregnancy or was close to someone in that situation, I know that's bullshit and I'd love to see it more.
I'd also love to write a Feysandnyx piece of a pregnant Feyre x Rhys piece because we deserve the fluff but I don't know how kids are, I don't have a single glue
I want to keep writing for my Sunshine and Promises fic. I just finished the Feyre x Helion fic for crackshipmonth and let Rhys fully out of that chapter bht the overall story is that Helion and Feyre did a little fuckeroo, Feyre fkt pregnant, Helion and Feyre become besties and the best Co parents the World has seen and she falls in love with Rhys along the way. It's my little crackship universe, I'm allowed to write whatever shit I want there

WIP Wednesday
Back on my canon divergence bullshit for Feysand Week! What if the dining room scene in the first book went a little differently?
"I hardly believed it myself when Lucien told me—a High Lord and a human girl are hardly equally matched. That mechanical eye of his doesn't lie, but I thought it was a trick nonetheless. You and your mistress, forcing me into a war with the Night Court if I dared attempt to save my lands." I'd hoped they'd both forget I was there, but Rhysand turned and stared at me again. Really looked, as if he were searching for answers written in my eyes, my face, my body. I raised the knife, though I knew it would be no use against him.
An invisible, talon-tipped hand pressed its way into my mind. I couldn't move. Against my own volition, my muscles went taut, and the knife dropped from my hand and clattered against the floor. One swipe of those mental claws and who I was would cease to exist. And I could feel them rooting around in my mind, flipping through my thoughts and memories like the pages of a book. Everything laid bare to him, no matter how private or personal. I would have vomited if I had enough control over my body to do so. "Leave, Rhys," Tamlin said. "You can do this elsewhere." "Tell me who she is," Rhysand demanded, a slight frantic edge to his voice. The first crack in his cool demeanor. "Feyre Archeron is your mate." The talons in my mind stilled but did not release their hold on me, and Rhysand's eyes widened in pure shock. Tamlin grinned wolfishly. Like he'd just delivered devastating news to his worst enemy.

I think the only thing Tamlin did wrong in this situation is refusing to let her train. Had he put some kind of tutor for her, she would have been distracted and off his hair but he sincerely believed she would be in danger and there was unfortunately no changing his mind even when Lucien insisted. And that particular decision was his doom imo. That was his sole mistake. But it was also not something that can be called abusive. It's not like he's doing it out of spite or riding away laughing evilly lol.
The locking up thing isn't the whole Rapunzel situation Feyre (and the precious feysand fandom) makes it out to be. You're in a whole ass mansion for few hours till he comes back, with people all around you. And if you are having a panic attack for that, as kate mentioned, she was clearly in no place to go out with Tamlin and Lucien, like at all.
But while Feyre was stubborn as hell, so was Tamlin, and that is the part which was written ooc for him because if he was being as observant and understanding as he was in acotar, he would have made sure a compromise was made. The thing is, he does apologize when she's upset in acomaf, even when he doesn't have to (eg: tithe) but there is no follow through and that can solely be blamed on the author, and she then proceeds to use these ooc moments to pin him as abusive which is just bang-your-head-against-the-wall kind of bullshit.
My main problem is the way she sunk Feylin, not even that she did it because there are much better ways to go about it and making it stay IC for everyone involved. She could literally have said Feyre was unable to communicate with tamlin because of her ptsd but it was easier with Rhys because he read her mind and helped, which can also have made his mind reading a positive thing. It would actually have been more believable than villanizing Tamlin in her head because that makes so little sense, I still think Rhys muddled her head for that to happen.
Tumblr media
Okay but like...what if they'd taken her with them and she got badly injured? You would have vilified them for even getting her into a dangerous situation.
