Terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand
Recently, the world is shocked by the news of Terrorist attack in Christchurch. It was Friday when I was scrolling through the Internet and saw the video of the terrorist shooting randomly inside a mosque where Muslims are performing their Friday Prayer. It was a very game-like video I was upset on how they’re able to do such thing.
The next day, we have our preparation class and one of my friend came into the class crying while telling us about the incident as some of us aren’t updated with this issue yet. She talked about how cruel the video is. However, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) prohibit us from spreading the video.
I have 2 friends who once lived in New Zealand. That night, one of them cried as she lost one of her friends in the shooting incident. We felt sorry for her and our condolences be with them.
Looking at the bright side of this incident, people from all over the world paid respect to muslims. There are also some people convert to Muslims. It shows that citizens all over the world are unite. Unity and peace of humanity, not religion.

KEJORA 2019
Kejohanan Olahraga or Track and Field Championship is basically the most awaited event throughout the year. This is the third year I join in sports events. The first time is in form 3, where our college held Super, i won bronze medal in Ping Pong 🏓. Last year was high jump and this year 1500m run.
This year for me is quite disappointing as a final year student. I had an intense training on the last two weeks such as restricting my diet by avoiding spicy food 🌶 and cold beverages. I run everyday and update my time taken to the vice president of my sport team, which is ORION 🏅. the first day of intense training was 7 min 35 seconds. It keeps increasing until the last day, 6 min 34 seconds, and I’m so ready. (with a little bit nervous). 1500m race is the first event held which causes me to feel butterfly in my stomach! On the first round everything went well, in the second lap, I slowly feel muscle cramps on my leg.
I remembered how my senior and teammates encourage me all the time by saying “YOUR MINDSET HAVE TO BE STRONGER THAN YOUR MUSCLE”. At the moment, I have two choices, continue in pain or stop and lose the race. It was a hard decision, I chose to continue running until at one point my leg refuses to move forward and I started to breathe using my mouth & feel exhausted. Then I realised I have no choice but to stop. I did. I felt so bad towards my sports team and thought that they would be angry at me for this, but they didn’t . Instead, they keep supporting me.
As a whole, activity week was fun. I won the best Career Video , Chief Financial Officer and received cash. At least there is something to be kept as sweet memory in this year’s Semester 1 Activity Week.
Whatever it is, I’ll never stop doing what I want and I’ll always try my best in what am I doing ✊🏼🏅

Interesting person I met
Hello! I am really sorry for the late post. I’ve been thinking for a while on who to write about under the “a person I’ve met” topic. So after the thoughts & researching, here it is! My aunt & uncle! My aunt is a virologist which is a study about the tiny viruses & my uncle is an antomologist that studies about bugs. Nowadays, we all heard about diseases breakout all around the globe right? We might also have to get a vaccine injection before going to certain countries because of different resistant towards particular diseases. These are the people who are in-charged of the breakouts in Malaysia. Can you imagine how dangerous a mosquito can be? I went to her office before, she works in the Ministry of Health as a researcher in virology unit. Her skills and expertise are in cloning and Influenza A. She’s also a successful mother of 3 kids and recently one of her son got offered to the MRSM YT Ketengah. Yay! First new MRSM gang!

Journey #2
A journey
Hello there! I would like to share about my 6 days journey to the North! On the 19th December, we made our way to Ipoh at 6 pm and arrived at 10 pm with one stop at the R&R. I call it a pyjama-journey because I usually get into my comfy cloth at 6. In addition, taking shower late at night is unhealthy right? I put on my sweater with scarf and off we go! Hehehe.
The next day, we continued our journey to Bukit Pinang, Kedah which was my mom’s side. It was kind of a family gathering where most of my cousins are there. People say, the more the merrier! I really look forward for the dishes here because my grandmother’s cooking is superb, one is never enough! We also went to visit our relatives nearby, it’s not easy to drive this far so once we did, we will make it worth the journey. This is the house where I fell in love with Laksam which I rarely had in KL. The day will never complete without a spice of shopping so we went to Tesco to purchase some food as more cousins are heading back! I bought a notebook and new cup as well, checkout my latest post about my water bottle collection.
We also went to Keriang Hill Resort for dinner. The scenery was breathtaking and the resort is kampung style. However, the service in the café could be improved in the future. On our way home, we insisted to search for the famous Gulai 7 Kawah but unfortunately the surroundings are very dark so we proceed our journey home.
Day after that, we went to my uncle’s house in Lenggong. His wife is Chinese, very good at making ‘mee tarik’ and her skills are outstanding. I enjoyed eating her ‘mee’ in various form. There was also chilli flakes where you heat up the oil and pour it into the flakes. I’m in love with the chilli so I eat literally everything with it. Actually, this house is their old house before they moved to Ipoh that I mentioned earlier so you can imagine a literally kampung life, and some rooms with no fans. I brought my own small fan but be cautious it was a wrong move! You will be freezing because actually they owned the natural air-conditioning especially when waking up in the morning with zero electricity! My uncle also have 3 geese and lots of chickens. We had a kenduri at the house and saw a chicken eating a fried chicken hehe. Have you ever heard of kebebeh? A traditional food made by our neighbour from vast types of fruit only in certain wood ‘pestle and mortar’. What I like the most about kampung life is that everyone in a village knew each other. Imagine searching for a long lost friend without knowing her address nor having her phone number? Seems impossible in cities but try asking a neighbour, they will sure know. Kids cycling together to one of the villagers house for Quran class. It was a new and exciting experience for me.
The last day, we went back home to Avisena Specialist for my appointment. Then, we have one week left until school. Bye comfy room!

One day trip
TrainVenture around Kuala Lumpur!
Welcome to Sofea’s TrainVenture Journey. Buckle up, and get ready to explore Kuala Lumpur. We were actually planning on buying my Literature Component Bahasa Melayu novel and books, but since we’re in Selangor it is very rare to find the Pahang edition. I found a book store that actually have-it-all. It’s the Pustaka Mu’min in Kuala Lumpur.
To begin with, we ride on the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) from Mutiara Damansara to Pasar Seni. I used to ride on the MRT after arriving to Kuala Lumpur Sentral from my college in Pekan, Pahang. The Muzium Negara station is connected to the KL Sentral and we stop at Mutiara Damansara station to head back home. After arriving at Pasar Seni, we interchange our line into the LRT and hop on to Masjid Jamek station. Then, we walk to the book store. It was quite far away, my phone record every step I took and I actually had 3000+ steps just to buy my KOMSAS book because I have assignment to do on it. It is actually counted for my GPA next semester so I hope my scarification is worth it.
Next, we didn’t took the same route to return to Mutiara Damansara instead, we ride on the Putra LRT to Pasar Seni. Then we proceed with MRT. It was quite a tiring journey under the December scorching sun. We had our lunch at the Chicken Rice Shop, The Curve to recharge myself. The BBQ chicken noodle is appetising! We ended the day with Wreck It Ralph 2, do read my review on the movie!

A day of being me
My collection
Photo journal
Hello there! Presenting my latest collection,
Tadaa, our new member in the collection! Another tumbler. Every time I shop the first thing that would catch my eyes is water bottles. As we are approaching 2019, one of my new resolutions is to bring my own tumbler to eateries. There are also some restaurants that strictly distribute straws and recently they banned polystrene in Selangor. I would happily go to any drink stalls as most of them offer water bottles with their brand on them! It is not wasting money instead, every time I visit to purchase any drinks I will be offered discounts for bringing my own bottle. I hope then when I grow up I’ll be able to place all the bottles in a transparent cupboard and put it in my own house 🌸😋

Book Review #1
HOW SCIENCE WORKS written by Robert Dwindie.
“Everything you need to know about science in small easily-digestible portions.”
Hey there! Today I will be sharing about a book that captured my interest. I’ve been reading it at my school whenever in my free time. The phrase itself describes the entire book. From atomic structure to the Universe are all explained in understandable words and simple vocabulary. It is also colourful which means music to the ears to visual learners! They use analogies at simple daily stuff to portrays something unimaginable.
For instance, the atomic structure that we learnt in class is actually a myth. Actually, the nucleus are very small and an atom consist of 99% empty space. Mind aren’t blown yet? The actual nucleus (protons and neutrons) is only the size of the ball in a whistle, compared to the electrons, which are the spectators in a football stadium! ⚽️
Besides that, there are also contents about environments and how Earth gains its energy. This book also taught me on how to count my daily calories usage which helps me with my daily activities.🥇
Usually, I can’t really catch up with my teacher in Science classes. Every time I’m revising and feels that everything is just too difficult, I just go through the book just to boost up my spirit that science is actually fun! Some topics like how viruses and bacteria grow, the pros and cons of traditional vs modern medications.
Ever heard about cloning? Yes it is actually real! The genetically modified (GM) plants and animals. I read about some conflicts due to ethical issues and animals testing. The topic wave is also interesting where I learnt about gadgets that emit waves. If only the waves around us aren’t invisible, you won’t be able to see me clearly from a few meters away! 😮
Do you know about the seven Electromagnetic Waves? I wrote a story to memorize all seven in order! A girl is listening to the radio (radiowaves), suddenly the radio broke. She went to a microwave (Microwave) and grabs a remote control (infrared wave) to activate it. Then she realises actually the electricity supply is out! (Visible light) She went outside but the sun is too bright (Ultraviolet wave) and she fainted. She was brought to a hospital to scan (x-ray) and found out she had a cancer (gamma ray).
Sad right 🙁 I told my friends once but they said it’s too long, they prefer acronyms. I’m the type of a person that don’t like acronyms, you know, if I literally make acronyms of all the formulas I need to memorize and I’ll be like SMAGD KDHMSRHO AMGEJTG and then I would be lost. (yes, that’s random press on keyboard). However, even though I like short stories it must have a quick storyline, this is the main reason in don’t enjoy dramas and series tv shows. I will be watching for like five episodes and then forgot what happened in the first one. Same goes to novels. I read Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic the first book once, and keep repeating from chapter one every time I reached chapter 3. (did I deviate far away from the topic?). Hahaha, so that’s it, my favourite book! I got it from Book Xcess in Starling Mall, Uptown Damansara. Recommend you to go there as you can get books with crazy low prices!
There are also information about Quantum Physics. The most difficult part in physics. I read about quantum entanglement once, it says if one particle vibrates due to me hitting it, the particle at the other side of the universe will vibrate too. Well, not quite sure about it but I like reading about the String Theory and the Theory of everything. They are all mind blowing and it also suggest that time travel is possible through worm holes, but they haven’t found any clear evidence yet. How massive and strong the gravity possesses by a single giant black hole that crushes everything that get into it, even light. Do you know that if you travel at the speed of light, you won’t be able to see clearly? The photons are travelling with you! If time freeze do exist, we can’t really see anything because the photons aren’t hitting on our retina. Cool yeah? 😋
That’s all from me, see you soon!

MOVIE REVIEW #1
Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet
28th November 2018
Hey there! Looking for movies to watch during the school break? Why not have a go at this movie.
It is all about a story of virtual life of video games characters and popular websites. It is about the adventure of Ralph, who is contented with his life and his intrepid friend, Vanellope who wants to look for something new when she was bored with her same routine every day. Ralph in helping to make her dreams come true accidentally broke the game causing all of the Sugar Rush characters to be homeless. Unwilling to let Venellope feeling sad and thinking that this was his fault, felt responsible and go online to search for new steering. Without knowing, they bid the steering for high price and had to find money to pay for it. So they clicked on the pop-up ads that offers them $30 000 if they manage to steal “Shank’s Car” from the Slaughter Race.
In my opinion, this scene taught us to not simply trust any pop-up ads.
Shank and her racing buddies understand Vanellope & Ralph’s situation decided to introduce Ralph to BuzzTube, which is in our world is YouTube where they can make real money based on likes and shares. They met Yesss that helped them make many hilarious videos! Ralph being protective when he learnt that Vanellope went to the Slaughter Race because she likes adventures, met a virus maker at the DarkNet to destroy the Slaughter Race by detecting Vanellope’s insecurities & glitch.
Believe it or not our internet experience only form 10% of the entire Internet framework while the rest is Dark Web where there are black markets, virus, malware, hackers and more.
Wants to know what happens next? Take a break from whatever you are doing & have a family fun get-together and watch the movie! 🍿

How you feel now that IGCSE is over
Hello there! In this very fine morning I am going to share about my journey along the IGCSE route since it is over now. Our last paper was the Paper 2 Chemistry. To be honest, the papers are a bit unexpected. The difficult subjects such as Additional Mathematics and Chemistry that I prepared the most turns out to be quite easy than what I am expecting. (or maybe because I prepared more on it?) But the easy ones!! That I spent lesser time on revising turns out to be so hard!! (Psstt… its Physics.)🤫
IGCSE took place from 15th of October until 14th November 2018, which is almost a month. Throughout the days are very tense, especially on the second week where we have exams every day. Results will be announced on January 2019, which again, causing me to feel anxious! 😰Last year, 2 of my colleague were awarded with the Top In The World Award for Mathematics 0580, which I was hoping on it too! I didn’t put high expectation but I do hope for it. I manage to get good marks for Mathematics during the Mock IGCSE 😋
Most of my seniors went out of college early to continue their studies, some of them do sit for SPM too and some of them don’t. Well I’m looking forward to do Chemistry in future, depending on how my result will be. My parents did some survey on Universities offering courses using GCSE results. Well, either I’m going out early for studies, or staying until SPM ends, I pray for what is the best for me and succeed in the future 🤗

What would you do if you were the Prime Minister for the day? What are your priorities if you were running the country?
As a Prime Minister, my priority will be to fulfill the manifesto which mainly to ensure the nation propers and the people's welfares are well taken care of. To make the nation prosper, all the members of parliament must be well versed with the potential of their constituencies. First they must propose the suitable industry in the area. Taking into consideration the environment and the ability of its manpower. They must also be financially literate and responsible for the project proposed. For the welfare of the people, I'll ensure that education, healthcare and facilities are accessible at a lower cost. Therefore, everyone can enjoy a healthy life with loved ones. The saying goes - "The most precious thing you can give to your loved one is the healty you!" Besides, there are still a lot of people out there who dropped out of the school to support their family and they have no money to continue studying. The day I become a prime minister, I will go to small villages to visit the less fortunate family and help them by getting some staple food for them. In addition, help can be given in education such as provide scholarship as they fulfil the enquiries. Who knows they are the one who will bring more success to this country. "Who knows the cure of the cancer is inside the head of the person who had no money to proceed studying?" Moreover, facilities provided should also be accessible anywhere. If I was the Prime Minister for the day, I would focus my development to small villages and outback so that it will not only focus on busy cities such as Kuala Lumpur. We remain the progression in the busy cities as they were before so that traffic jam can be avoided. Plus, more area can be developed which will offer more place for more jobs! People who lived in remoted area mostly in East Malayisa will not have to travel far away from their village to work. Day can be well spent with families!
Lastly, I would also run a campaign to appreciate the water. From this campaign people will be shown with the water crisis such as water pollution, water rationing and the less fortunate people who don't have water. I live in Selangor and has been experiencing limited water supply especially early in the morning. I would like to share with the nation that water is the most valueable thing in the future. Money can't do much, so does gold. In my place, bill with less than RM20 will automatically be free which some of the residence appreciate water less and assume water is easily available since we have 70% sea on earth.

Do you think the age of technologies turns us into zombies?
Everyone knows what is a zombie. Only abusive used of technology leads human turns into zombie. Zombie basically means a non-functional brain of a human being. By right, technology supposed to help human to acquire knowledge easily. However, without discipline we tend to misuse either by surfing on inappropriate websites or by obsession with certain websites. There a lot of applications cause us to be addicted to gadgets especially entertainment related applications.

Should education be free?
In principle, education plays important role to build a successful nation. Among developed countries that offer free education to its people includes France, Germany and Switzerland. However, when something is free people tend to appreciate less. We can see that most of the winners of science and research competitions are from Asian countries. I believe one of the reason is because when one has to pay for education, he/she will value the effort and strive for excellence. Therefore, in my opinion education should not be free. However, being a developing nation education should be made accessible at a lower cost. After all, the money that we pay is for the salary of staffs and some of facilities at the institution. In addition, more equipment is needed to fulfill the learning requirements in this urbanisation era which we can’t fully depend on the government.

Since I’m back I’ve seen many advertisements about don’t waste food as many as 66 millions kids go to school without food. while in Malaysia, the food that we waste daily can feed 2.2 million kids. so here I am today making bread & butter pudding using the leftover croissant🥐 instead of throwing it away 🍞 Simple ingredients! but it tastes delicious 😋

Assalamualaikum 🌝 One of the interesting facts about Sweden is; - With a tax rate of 51.4% of GDP, Swedes are one of the most highly taxed populations in the world. Ironically, they are generally happy to pay a high tax rate, and the Swedish word for tax is skatt, or “treasure.” - IKEA is from Sweden 🇸🇪 An average of 1,836,000 meatballs are eaten daily in all of Ikea’s 313 stores worldwide. Ikea was founded in Sweden in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad. So hey there 🙆🏻♀️ This is about our UNGA which stands for United Nation General Assembly programme organised by the English Language Unit. Generally, we are all glad that the presentation went well. Though, there are some little disturbance but we managed to keep everything under control. The Activity Week overall was quite a pressure week as we have our SEM and other activities. We can say that the preparation is quite adventurous some problems actually came out of nowhere 😅 Since I am the one living near to IKEA Damansara & IKEA is actually from Sweden, I thought of buying some biscuits, wafers & chocolates from Sweden for the booth. I also printed some language facts about Sweden & even practiced speaking the language 😂 but end up I only speak in the intro as I am too nervous 😔 it’s okay it’s fine anyway :’) Back to the food story, we prepared the food for the teachers but it turns out that students came first to eat alllllll of it. what is left for teacher is only the main dish 😂 We are quite emotionally disturbed 😦 but eventually managed to calm down.. What a roller coaster ride! 🚃 Oh not to forget about the dance 😂 We are basically repeating the same 3 steps for the entire song except for the boys (so we are the back up dancer). We had sore leg(?) after that 😅 Well that is all from me, to conclude everything up, the activity week is really tiring although we aren’t even going for classes. Can’t wait for the second semester’s activity week for more relaxing activities I hope 🌙

I know I am supposed to write about the UNGA programme but since I just got back from the IESO National Camp so I am going to write about this 💕 This is my story At the very first mini PT3 Geography I had in 2016, I got the worst result in the batch, not going to say how much though 😅 It is really terrifying as Mini PT3 is a preparation for the REAL kerja kursus PT3 I started to worried about everything. I put a lot of effort since April to do my best. I remember coming back from Girls Day Out Programme and everyone is exhausted while I took my shower, changed into something clean and straight away go the pc centre to do more research. I can't sit still if I don't. As day passes until the moment we need to submit the folio, I was the first chosen to present my project in front of the kementerian pendidikan. I was quite nervous as my presentation skills aren't that awesome but I said yes! Oppurtunity only come knocking on your door once, grab it! I also felt satisfied despite the extra effort I made. A week before the writing PT3, my geography teacher introduced to me a competition called Malaysia Earth Science Olympiad. I refused at first but at the second thought, I tried so hard in this field last time, so why not? After PT3 I start reading Earth Science books + IGCSE books as we still have finals 😅 It wasn't that big competition only 5 of us from MRSM TAR sat for the preliminary round. On the semester break, I received a call asking me to check on the result. Guess what? (above picture) Sadly, I'm the only representative from tar :( my friends did their best though 👏🏻🎉 The Final round was held at Kolej Permata Insan. 60 from around the Malaysia & 20 from the college. It was theory & practicals on 4 subjects, Geology, Geophysics, Astronomy & Oceanography. Practicals are quite challenging but nothing is stopping me right! 🙋🏻 Then on February 28th, on the day right before SEM Starzak Brains Expo which means stressful day pressure here and there, team problems fighting and all those disturbance, I got the news that I'm one of the 13 best students in the finals to go for National Camp. It was quite unbelievable but I'm happy with myself. I don't even expect I could make it this far. So the camp start last Friday and just end yesterday 😅 The first ever time I ride on an aeroplane completely on my own from the check in, to boarding. The camp just end, which means tons of homeworks in shorter period of holidays 🙃 I'll try my best though 😂 Lastly, I don't put any high hopes to be the best 4 chosen for Thailand but if I do, Alhamdulillah. It all started from a failure in 2016. I hope that one day when I became successful, I can share this story to people to motivate them, and prove to them, that the saying "Failure is the mother of success" is still valid for people who believe 😊

Science & Nature
Assalamu'alaikum and hey there 🙆🏼 I have been prepared for last week's spot talk & excited for it but since my name had not been called, I decided to write it here. The theme for last week is Science & Nature, so I am going to talk about Natural Disasters. Nature is very independent. They don't need us but we need them. Somehow people are greedy and their desire beat their humanity and destroy the nature. By means to destroy is not only bombing or chopping in a large quantity, the action of doing anything that harm the nature is wrong. Can we imagine our life one day with very little floras and faunas? Nature can be very relaxing, beautiful and calming 🌷 You can relieve your stessful day by just looking at the green trees 🌳 but the nature can get on their nerves, once they did, it can be very fatal. One of them is the Yellowstone Supervolcano in Yellowstone National Park. It is estimated to erupt every 600 000 years, guess what? the last time it erupted is 640 000 years ago! Volcanos are classified into 8 groups from the very small to the massive volcano. This Yellowstone is categorised in the 8th group called Supervolcano! If it erupts, the whole United States will be affected except for the Southern Texas & the ashes can go all over the world which will block the sunlight and possibly cause the another Ice Age of the world called the Volcanic Winter ☃ Sounds terrifying. Would you appreciated the nature? Get to know the natural phenomenon, it is very interesting. That is all from me, thank you for reading have a nice day! 🙋🏻
