Silver bowl; embossed, engraved and partially gilded on the central roundel medallion which shows a Bacchanalian drinking scene with a pot-bellied open-mouthed male figure seated on the ground, bare-chested with a transparent tunic with cuffs and adecorated neckline revealing his genitalia beneath, low boots with edging at the top and upward curled toes, a crown with bunches of grapes hanging down on either side, drop earrings and a pigskin draped over his lap and held in his left hand, with an animal-headed rhyton aloft with his right hand as the wine spurts into his mouth while he gazes at a young buxom female figure seated to his right; she is dressed in a long flowing belted gown with long tight sleeves ending in embroidered cuffs, with a central brooch securing a cloak over her shoulders, her long hair gathered at the front with a tress hanging in front of the ears and the remainder drawn into a long tight pigtail down her back, earrings, a beaded necklace and a bangle on each wrist as she holds a stem-footed decorated goblet aloft in her left hand and what appears to be a diadem in her right, the pair enclosed within a pair of vine scrolls springing from the bottom, enclosed within a low raised plain border, the remainder of the bowl being decorated with wavy fluting below a rolled-over inverted rim; missing a presumed foot-ring. The background of the central roundel and the vine scrolls bears extensive traces of gilding and there are additional traces or hints of gilding on details, including the diadem, collar, earring and bangles of the seated male and earrings of the female figure. Punched details include the belly button of the male, chasing indicating a pair of folds of his tunic around his stomach, and a shallow chased Y chevron on his left shoulder.
Found: Dera Ismail Khan
Manufactured: Dera Ismail Khan or Bactria, 4th century
The form, fluting and composition are that of Kushano-Sasanian silver, the dress of the female figure similar to that in Sasanian iconography whereas the male figure is a locally rendered version of Silenus. The stemmed goblet she holds is a form not well-known for this period but that reflects the chances of survival; the animal-headed rhyton he holds is paralleled by pottery skeuomorphs and silverwares of Sasanian date, including one found in northern Afghanistan.
The corrosion and damage around the rim and reverse may be the consequence of having been interred in a position whereby these areas allowed for greater weathering, and the better presevation of the remaider of the interior might be expected if the bowl was buried upside-down or nested with another object, such as in a hoard.

It's a bacchanalian celebration.
It's a bacchanalian celebration. These celebrations honor the god, Dionysus. These traditions are intended to establish a strong reverence for Dionysus, and have been an important part of Ancient Greek Hellenism.
The Olympics initiated in 776 BCE and were also held in honor of Zeus. This is history that runs deep in Greek culture and tradition and predates the story of the Last Supper by centuries. It was NOT, the last supper.

A comic about my day today
fun thing about being somewhat neurodivergent is that sometimes I get random full phrases stuck in my head that play on loop in the background of my brain for hours if not days
I think making this purged me of this one tho

Finding information that confirms another suspicion of mine: the global satanic conspiracy narrative can be traced back to allegations made against the Cult of Dionysus/Bacchus.
The following was written by Livy in 186 BCE (long before Rome was Christianized!):
Hispala then gave a full account of the origin of the mysteries. At first," she said, "those rites were performed by women. No man used to be admitted. They had three stated days in the year on which persons were initiated among the Bacchanalians, in the daytime. The matrons used to be appointed priestesses, in rotation. Paculla Minia, a Campanian, when priestess, made an alteration in every particular, as if by the direction of the gods. For she first introduced men, who were her own sons, Minucius and Herrenius, both surnamed Cerrinius; changed the time of celebration, from day to night; and, instead of three days in the year, appointed five days of initiation, in each month. From the time that the rites were thus made common, and men were intermixed with women, and the licentious freedom of the night was added, there was nothing wicked, nothing flagitious, that had not been practiced among them. There were more frequent pollution of men with each other than with women. If any were less patient in submitting to dishonor, or more averse to the commission of vice, they were sacrificed as victims. To think nothing unlawful was the grand maxim of their religion. The men, as if bereft of reason, uttered predictions, with frantic contortions of their bodies; the women, in the habit of Bacchantes, with their hair disheveled, and carrying blazing torches, ran down to the Tiber; where, dipping their torches in the water, they drew them up again with the flame unextinguished, being composed of native sulphur and charcoal. They said that those men were carried off by the gods, whom the machines laid hold of and dragged from their view into secret caves. These were such as refused to take the oath of the society, or to associate in their crimes, or to submit to defilement. This number was exceedingly great now, almost a second state in themselves, and among them were many men and women of noble families. During the last two years it had been a rule, that no person above the age of twenty should be initiated; for they sought for people of such age as made them more liable to suffer deception and personal abuse.
Gay sex! Human sacrifice! Child abuse! Subverting all things good and lawful as religious praxis! Infiltrating every level of society! It's all right here in this pre-Christian Roman conspiracy theory.
