“. . . think this is an alien thing?” Jimmy asks thoughtfully, glancing sidelong at Lois, who for some reason looks increasingly concerned. “Like, a ‘like recognizes like’ or maybe some sort of weird psychic bond or genetic instinct?” 

“Oh god, Clark has a kid,” Lois says, putting her hands on her face sandwich and all and looking less and less concerned and more and more panicked. “Clark has a baby! A kid who’s a baby! And also a teenager! I can’t be a dad, my dad is the worst, what kind of dad would I be?!” 

“The ‘mom’ kind?” Jimmy suggests, but Lois clearly isn’t listening. 

“I’m a terrible dad!” she says despairingly, gesturing frantically at Superboy with her sandwich and nearly dropping it. Clark just keeps an eye out and figures he’ll just catch it if she does. “I don’t know how to dad! And how am I gonna afford to send you to college?! I should’ve had eighteen years to get you a college fund!” 

Clark really does love her, he reflects contentedly. 

“You wanna be my dad too?” Superboy asks, tilting his head and blinking at her, and Lois balks.

She pulls out a pen; points to a few different places for Clark to sign. Clark glances over at Lor and Jon both melted into functional liquids on top of Carl while he purrs at and pets them, and then lets out a quiet exhalation. A flicker of something painful crosses his face as he does. 

Bruce is an alpha, obviously, and therefore can’t imagine what it feels like to be an omega who can’t nurse their own pups no matter how desperately they need it. Can’t imagine what it feels like when one of those pups is young enough to need milk enough that they’re starving without it, but he can't provide it for them. Sienna Travler was a serial killer in life, driven by her intense need to prove that she was The Best. Naturally, she got turned into a Mega Blok person - easy to disassemble and worse build quality than the leading competitor. (Don't worry, it gets lighter from here.)

Turner Travers (at least this version of him) was a cruel manager at a games company who belittled his employees and pushed them into crunch during every development cycle. He got turned into the mascot, Junie, of their hit game Nakamono.

Isaac Robins was a belligerent misogynistic incel who frequently tore into people for liking "girly" things. He got turned into a Beanie Baby, and can't even remember her old name, only the name on her tag: Jinxie.

Et que c'est justement à travers Mash qu'il voit la volonté d'Adam et que celui ci peut enfin la transmettre au peuple ! Par contre on voit trois apprentis dans le flashback, il est passé où le troisième ?

Par contre quand Cell parle du fait que lui et Mash sont des bébés artificiels crée par Innocent Zero en utilisant un cadavre et son sang. Je trouvais qu'Adam dans sa jeunesse ressemblait physiquement Mash. Alors j'espère me tromper mais est ce que vous croyez qu'Innocent Zero aurait utilisé le cadavre de son mentor ainsi que son sang pour créer Mash ? Honnêtement ce serait glauque si c'était le cas !

author's note: justice for francisco!! all he wanted was to make a nice dinner for his tinder date, and now he's dead because he has a big heart and decided to help peter save the president.

he woke again, feeling the phantom pains of the bullet ripping through his skin, the disorientation of the airbag that had just been pressed up against his face.

francisco sat up slowly, listening to the hammering of his heart against his ribcage, trying to slow his breathing.

he was safe. president travers was safe. peter was safe.

the doctors had told him that if the bullet had been three millimeters to the left, he would have been laying on a cold metal slab in the morgue instead of the uncomfortable hospital bed, with ivs in his arms.

"cisco?" she mumbled quietly, the bed rustling next to him as she rolled over, rubbing at her eyes. "baby, did you have another panic attack?"

"it's nothing, y/n. just go back to sleep."

he wouldn't have made it through without her. they had been supposed to have dinner together that night. he had made a three course meal using a recipe he found on the food network, and he had shelled out more than fifty dollars on wine, because he didn't know what she liked.

and then peter fucking sutherland had knocked at his door, with rose larkin in tow. and because he was such a good person with a big heart, francisco rescheduled the date.

and then he got shot in a car chase, by a woman who looked like she let a toddler cut her hair. all because peter cried conspiracy.

peter had been right and now they were both national heroes, but that's semantics.

he had been so disoriented from the crash that happened just before, that he had moved too slowly, too sluggishly, pain ripping through his muscle and tissue as the bullet made a home in his shoulder.

it was by sheer luck that y/n had heard a radio report half an hour later about state trooper francisco jenkins, who had been shot in a car chase mid-911 call. and when he didn't pick up the phone, she jumped in an uber and tried four different hospitals before she finally found him, and they had spent their first date eating mary browns chicken in a hospital room after a surgeon dug a hunk of metal out of his skin.

"ssh, shh, baby, i'm right here." she said softly, running her fingers through his hair. "you're safe, okay. nobody is going to shoot you. hold my hand, hon." she spoke calmly, kissing him on the cheek, paying close attention to the rise and fall of her lover's chest.

still breathing heavily, cisco reached out a shaky hand and pulled her into his side. he kissed the crown of her head, running his fingers along her skin to ground himself, trying not to let her see just how rattled the shooting had made him.

she was his rock. he hadn't asked her to stay by his side during the recovery process, she had made that choice for herself. she had been patient, caring and supportive, through the rehab and the media shitshow and the investigation.

he didn't know what he would have done without her.

he'd only just started going back to work, and the panic attacks had grown in frequency since he'd returned to the state trooper's office. there was always that fear that next time, he wasn't going to be so lucky.

"thank you for staying with me." he didn't recognize his own voice, the way that it wavered as he buried his face in her tangled hair. "i couldn't do this without you."

her heart swelled at her lover's admission. thought it had been painful to watch francisco recover from the shooting, it had been a labour of love. she had been sure she was in love with him before they even met, just from their conversations over tinder.

she smiled sadly, moving to straddle him, the hem of her oversized t-shirt riding up. "lay back down, baby."

"while you're on top of me?"

"francisco." she scolded. "lay. down."

rolling his eyes, the state trooper lay back down against the egyptian cotton sheets, the st. christopher pendant on his neck sliding across his skin from the movement, coming to rest just over the scar where the bullet had entered his shoulder.

y/n hummed contentedly, lowering her body so that she was resting against his bare chest, head nestled into ciscos neck as she pulled the comforter over their bodies. her shirt had ridden up over her calvins, cisco's hand moving to gently run along the expanse of her soft, warm skin

"i love you, francisco jenkins." she said gently, kissing the side of his neck. "and i'm always going to be here, yeah?"

cisco gripped her hand gently, craning his head to kiss her softly on the lips. "i love you more, y/n. i'm so glad that you've been with me through this."

Synopsis:

Some people feel more than others, these are Affinates, people who have such an intense Affinity for something that they can read it better than anyone else, and even manipulate its forces. Governments around the world have kept this fact a secret. There are more of them every day and no one knows why. The Affinity Unit is set up to unpick the mystery and deal with the new crimes that are created by these remarkable people. When Arden discovers her Affinity for fire, she is pulled into the strange world of people for whom the usual rules do not apply, where she only has a young, brash American with an Affinity for water as her guide. Together they must discover who is killing Affinates and what the motive behind it is.

Gilgamesh (Gil) Fontenot (Aidan Gallagher) – As a baby Gil was rescued from the flooding caused by hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. His parents were never found. He is a recent recruit of the Affinity Unit and has worked for them for just over a year, straight out of his basic training with the FBI. He is a skilled investigator and a water Affinate. He lives on a house boat on the Thames, preferring to be close to the water at all times.

Arden Flammel (Zahra Ahmadi) – There’s a video of Arden being rescued from a burning multistorey building by firefighters. The fire made the news and killed her parents. She was only two at the time, and had nightmares for years afterwards. She raised by the firefighter who saved her, and followed in her father’s footsteps. She became a fire investigator with the London Fire Brigade.

Noële Travere (Angela Bassett) – A former Interpol Agent based in Paris, Noële is an experienced law enforcement officer who now heads up the Affinity Unit. She developed affinity late in life and no one is sure of her story. Her Affinity is for plants and her office is full of house plants on the verge of death that she lovingly brings back to life.

Harry Merchant (Gary Oldman) – An earthquake scientist who first identified the phenomenon of Affinity when he became one himself. He has an Affinity for stone, and was caught in a collapsing building, barely escaping with his life. Always impeccably dressed, he is occasionally called away to earthquake zones to identify points of stress and when the next quake might be. He says that he can now feel the rhythms of the earth. He is interested in trying to understand the mechanism behind Affinity and has all but abandoned his seismological research to work with Shirley on Affinity.

Shirley Ortiz (Liza Colon-Zayas) – Not an Affinate herself, but her son was one. He had a deep Affinity for machines, working as a Formula 1 engineer, and is currently missing. She is a pathologist and works with the Affinity Unit, helping them to research and solve mysteries. She also assists Harry with his research on the biological side.

Oluwatobi (Tobi) Iku (Babs Olusanmokun) – An assassin for hire, Tobi Iku was buried alive with his dead by his abusive father mother. He was eight years old at the time. When his aunt rescued him from the coffin, his first act was to kill his father. He is a rare Affinate who has an Affinity for death and can work out how to kill someone by simply starting a chain reaction of events.

Max McDowall (Martin Sheen) – An American billionaire who made his money in oil and is deeply suspicious of Affinity. He has firmly held beliefs that conspiracy theories are real and is the force behind the deaths and kidnappings.

Plot:

The story opens with a fire in St Martin’s church, London, that Arden is investigating. A single tarot card is affixed to the outside of the church door, Death. Whilst investigating, the body of a man is uncovered and instead of the police investigating, the case is taken over by Interpol agent, Gil Fontenot. Arden has little time for brash Gil, who seems to have a very strange way of investigating, tracing the lines of the water used to put out the fire and then the patterns of blood from the dead man, which should have been destroyed by the fire. However, he is struck by her fire investigation capabilities and recognises her as a fellow Affinate. He recruits her to the top secret Affinity Unit and helps her to recognise her power for what it is.

During their investigation they find that Tobi Iku is likely responsible for the body in the church – his calling card is the tarot card - and that he has been employed by someone very powerful. Gil has tangled with Tobi before and only barely lived to tell the tale. They race to protect the person identified as his next victim, but ultimately fail, leaving them disheartened and Arden wonders why she thought she could help.

Gil and Arden follow the clues to a warehouse in docklands where there is evidence that experiments are being conducted on Affinates. They are locked into a room within the warehouse and gassed into unconsciousness. They awake to find themselves on a ship at sea, the latest kidnap victims, and they are taken to a lab where blood is taken before they are thrown back in a brig. McDowall makes a brief appearance to see how his project is progressing, but Gil is somewhat distracted by the huge amount of water around him which messes with his Affinity and overwhelms him. Arden has to rescue them, which she does by destroying the boat’s engine using her Affinity for fire and pulling Gil out of his dazed state. The crew abandon ship, leaving Arden and Gil to die.

They call for help, and just have time to grab some important documents left behind. Gil uses his Affinity to ensure they stay afloat and they are picked up from the Atlantic by a military vessel sent by the Affinity Unit.

They analyse the data they have found, and realise that McDowall is trying to find a way to give non-Affinates their abilities, and ultimately combine all the Affinities into a single drug that he can sell to the highest bidder. Potentially this would build an army of super soldiers and destabilise the world. Harry creates a controversial drug that would remove Affinity and makes just two doses, for emergencies only. The Affinity Unit pull together all their resources for one final showdown with McDowall in Iceland, where he plans to demonstrate the capabilities of his Synthetic Affinates.

The Affinity Unity make use of all their contacts to destroy McDowall’s base and rescue Shirley’s son. The final showdown sees McDowall dosing himself up on fire Affinity and facing off against Arden, using a volcano as their weapons. Meanwhile Gil finally gets to finish his encounter with Tobi and this time gets the upper hand, using Harry’s anti-affinity drug to stop Tobi, who miscalculates and accidentally kills himself with set of circumstances meant to kill Gil.

The Affinates go home, knowing that the world is saved.

Suddenly, Ewan woke up from his thoughts. "What- Oh, I apologize, my mind drifted for a moment."

Edana nodded slowly. Most likely he had been fantasizing about various ways to murder Edana's husband, Ewan Traver.

Her husband had an... unfortunate tendency to begin love affairs outside of their marriage. Edana didn't mind, so long as he avoided scandal.

Of course, he never avoided scandal, and had decided that having sex with Anna Goldman, while her husband was in the other room, was a brilliant idea. "Ewan cheated on her with Miruna Maricourt first," her husband had said, as if that made it all right.

Then Anna had given birth to a baby boy named Hendrik. Lab results went in, and lab results came out - the wrong Ewan was the father. Their divorce shocked everyone who weren't aware of Edana's husband's most recent indiscretion.

Now here they were. Trying to discuss magic with a giant elephant in the room.

I always knew Shawn being a lowkey d-bag would come to light one day. He still has the emotional maturity of a 17-year-old boy when it comes to relationships. He screwed over his high school sweetheart by blatantly lying and backtracking to say that every song he’s ever written since the beginning of his career is about Camila and fans called him out for like that like “umm no we literally have you on video saying it’s about this person, plus some songs on SM3 are about Hailey.” Yeah, let’s not forget when he was hooking up with Hailey Bieber (when she was Baldwin) but then pictures of him and Camila at a pizza place with his manager were posted, they were seen holding hands, and supposedly Hailey was upset because she was confused by what’s going on, which is how she started talking to Justin again because Shawn didn’t know how to define their “relationship”. But of course nothing happened between Shawn and Camilla at that point because she was dating that dude Matthew and then that’s when Shawn went on tour and was seen getting super close and cozy with his opening act, Alessia Cara and there was tons of rumors that they were hooking up on tour…. then he went and filmed Señorita with Camila weird things happen between them. Suddenly Camila is breaking up with Matthew (Let’s not forget Shawn was also hooking up with a Hailey look-alike around that time…she posted flowers he got her lol) and then he starts paying alessia cara dust and straight up Ignores her, and she releases a whole EP about that situation while still being on tour with Shawn.

Camila was also being weird because she knew what was going on between Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes and the girl was liking and stalking Alessia’s Instagram account….Shawn and Camila of course date for 2 years and then they break up and Camila gets a new boyfriend almost a year later and dates him for like seven months. It was that Austin guy. Then there’s rumors circling that Shawn and Sabrina are supposedly hooking up and that’s when Camila starts stalking Sabrina’s account and people thought it was a stretch, but obviously it wasn’t. On Shawn birthday Camila decides to do a pap walk with her boyfriend Austin for the first time and is found stalking Shawn’s fan accounts on Instagram and then not too long after we get pictures of Shawn and Sabrina publicly out together for the first time…In the midst of all this at the beginning of 2023, DM post that Shawn was supposedly seen outside of Camilla’s apartment with flowers, there was never any proof or pictures though…. And the last time Sabrina and Shawn are seen together in public is around March and then a few weeks later he pops up at Coachella with Camila. That influencer Tana talks about it on her podcast and mentions that she was shocked to see Shawn with Camila because the a week or two before Coachella she had just seen him with Sabrina at a party. Then of course Shawn and Camila date for like 6 to 3 weeks and they break it off and in somewhere between that the reality TV star Charlie Travers fits in (kind of irrelevant). Then rumors are flying that Sabrina is supposedly dating Barry which they make it official at the Vanity Fair party and Sabrina post pictures of herself from that night and then Shawn, who hasn’t been active on social media takes it upon himself to like her post after months of no interaction.

Camilla literally confirms a lot of this on her album. She confirms that she was texting Shawn and sending him stuff even goes as far as to say “does she get this wet for you baby?”. This is then confirmed on Sabrina‘s upcoming album. She says that she was talking to somebody that who was texting his ex-girlfriend. She found pictures of his ex on his phone and he kept playing mind games of going back-and-forth and didn’t know what he wanted. There’s a lot more stuff on Sabrina‘s album, so we’re just gonna have to wait for tonight.

Shawn having a villain moment will be excellent if he handles it well
