Your girlfriend seemed to get a kick out of telling you how “incredibly hot” she thought the weather guy on the local news was. When you brought it up, she admitted that it excited her how jealous and grumpy you got every time she said it. Not that you could do much about her excitement… but that was "okay,” she reassured you. It was understood that you were trying to move past your infantile desires in the bedroom and become “a real man for once in your life, despite having failed to reach that goal thus far. Little did you realize that all of her needs were already being more than satisfied - by that same weatherman. Not only that, but he also found your jealousy and inability to “seal the deal” to be a massive turn on - and neither of them had any intention of giving up the source of their mutual stimulation once they decided to become a couple.
Now, the forecast calls for a strong chance of “Mommy” and “Daddy” fooling around on the sidelines while the old ladies at the farmer's market gather around your stroller to coo and fuss over your precious ruffled bubble-romper as you pull against the restraints in a futile attempt to avoid having your cheeks pinched, a 100% chance of tearfully gagging in your highchair on so many heaping spoonfuls of Gerber Vegetable Chicken that you're thankful when it's time for your "dessert" of Apple Banana Medley and expected lows of Daddy leading you by the hand up to the counter at McDonald's to ask them for the men's room passcode so he can "get this lil' stinker out of his dirty diaper" after you made "boom-booms" in the playplace ballpit (and then he made you use the slide.) Most importantly there's the ever-increasing downpour in your southern region, spurred on by half-hourly bottle feedings that are expected to cause catastrophic damage to your bladder control and lead to ceaseless flooding incidents that can never be prevented, only contained.
Even though your new baby life was once something out of your wildest fantasies, most of the time you’re still grumpy. Grumpy about being woken up by ceaseless thumping in the night because Daddy made sure your crib shared the same wall as the headboard of the “grown-ups” bed, grumpy about the “manny” he hired so Mommy wouldn’t need to change your diapers or give you baths anymore and very grumpy about him casually asking the virtual assistant on his phone “Tell me more about how to measure a boy for a chastity cage” loud enough for you to hear over the Wiggles album that was set on repeat in your headphones on the drive to see "Daniel Tiger LIVE!" These trends are expected to continue with increased intensity in the coming weeks, months and years - with little to no relief.

If you weren't pregnant and exhausted, Bradley would have been concerned by how quiet you were. You seemed to need a nap as soon as you got home from work, and then you wanted to go to bed right after Rose went down in her crib each evening. When he got home quite late on Friday after working on some transfer paperwork for several hours, he was surprised to find that you seemed a little more upbeat than usual.
"Hey, Roo."
You were wearing a pair of his gym shorts while you made dinner. The house smelled delicious, and his stomach started growling as soon as he walked inside. He picked Rose up from her playmat, taking her into the kitchen as he smothered her in kisses before transferring them to you.
"You feeling okay? How's Nugget Part Deux?"
"We're exhausted. Rose is the only one with energy right now."
He supposed that was better than you telling him you couldn't stop throwing up. So far, baby number two seemed to be giving you less grief when it came to eating. "We can nap all weekend," he promised. "How was your day?"
"Pretty good," you told him with a shrug. "How was your day?"
He glanced out the back door at the enormous jungle gym, eyeing it up as an option for him and Rose to play after dinner. "Just busy. Everyone keeps me on my toes all day long. These pilots are really talented."
You seemed to wrinkle your nose at his words, staring at the food cooking on the stove as you muttered, "I'll bet they are."
Rose seemed keen on the idea of the backyard, so he kissed her soft cheek. "Yeah, I can barely keep up with them in the air, but don't tell them that. I've got my head on a swivel the whole time. Indigo and Rex nearly took me out today, and I had to go into a dive. And starting on Monday, I'm going to give myself some extra office hours to stay on top of my paperwork."
Instead of responding about his day, you started to dish out the food onto two plates with your back turned to him. "After we eat, I need to call my parents before it's too late. They're putting their house on the market next week, and I think I'm just going to tell them I'm pregnant and get it over with. I've put it off long enough."
Bradley's brow creased. "They'll be excited though. Right? I mean, maybe not as excited as me, but still excited."
You shrugged again, and he thought he might lose his mind if you kept doing it. "Aren't you at least a little worried there could be some sort of complications from having them so close together?"
A sardonic laugh almost burst from his lips. "Baby Girl, I worry about you and Rosie and the new baby constantly. Okay? Nonstop. But we can't go back now. You're already almost in the second trimester. Hey," he said, swallowing hard as you finally turned and looked at him. He held Rose just a little tighter as he whispered, "We're married. We're happy, right? You're not actually thinking about ending your pregnancy, are you?"
"No," you replied quickly, shaking your head. Bradley desperately wanted to know if there was some way he could make this easier for you, because he didn't want you to resent what was happening. But you just started crying as you shrugged again. "I just feel like our timing is terrible. And I know I have to start telling people, because I'm already showing a little bit, but I'm just so frustrated, Bradley."
He never dreamed the two of you would go from trying for months to get pregnant with Rose to being frustrated about a second pregnancy, but here you were. "I realize you've got to do most of the work right now, but when I tell you that I want another baby and that I'm excited about this, I mean it."
"I know!" you whispered quickly. "I know." You swiped at your tears before wrapping your arms around him and Rose.
"Is something else bothering you?" he murmured when your cheek came to rest on his bicep. He couldn't imagine what else could be the matter, but he needed to make sure.
You were silent for a few beats before whispering, "I'm fine. Let's facetime my parents."
For how excited your mom was to move to California, she didn't seem to notice that your eyes looked like you'd been crying. She kept talking about selling their furniture and packing everything up. She mentioned how much she wanted to see Rose in person as she fussed over her on the video call. Just as she was starting to discuss their new house in Coronado that would make them his neighbors, Bradley heard you blurt out, "I'm pregnant."
Your parents both looked stunned on the other end of the call. "You're pregnant," your mom said, eyes drifting back to Rose in Bradley's arms. "Already?"
Now both parents were staring at Bradley as he said, "Yeah... due in April."
"April Fool's Day," you said softly.
Your parents broke out into twin grins. "I'm assuming this was a surprise to the two of you?" your dad asked. When you nodded silently, he added, "A happy surprise at least! Congratulations. You're about to have your hands very full."
"It's a good thing we're moving!" your mom practically shrieked. "Two under two! Two babies! What if you have twins?"
"We're not," Bradley replied. Then he froze. "It's not twins. Right, Sweetheart?" Now he was a little scared as you turned to look at him and laugh.
"There was just one heartbeat, Roo. Just one."
His shoulders sagged in relief. "I mean, the more the merrier, but that would be a lot."
He let Rose nap against his chest while he rubbed circles against your lower back, and soon enough, your parents were ending the call with the promise that they would be in Coronado for Christmas. "We'll either be living there by then or we'll fly out for the holiday if our house here hasn't sold yet."
Everything sounded good to Bradley, and five minutes after the call ended, you fell asleep on him, too.
----------------------------
When you fell asleep on Cam's shoulder at brunch on Sunday, you figured it was time to tell him and Maria what was going on.
"I'm pregnant. Again."
Maria jumped out of her seat to cram into the opposite of the booth, sandwiching you between her and Cam. "Damn, girl! You've wasted no time!"
"Lieutenant Commander Mustache is working with some high fucking quality goods, huh?" Cam marveled, shaking his head slowly in reverence. "Congratulations."
"Thanks," you whispered, voice harsh and near tears. You had no control over your emotions. This was just like when you were pregnant with Rose, but with less vomiting and more fatigue. Everything made you upset enough that you wanted to cry or angry enough that you wanted to kick down a door. Including your husband.
You answered Cam and Maria's questions as you thought about that woman you'd seen around base with Bradley a few times. They were never alone, always part of a larger group, but you didn't like how she looked at him. And you didn't want to mention it to him, because you knew how ridiculous it was going to sound.
"Hey, I'm really tired," you eventually told your friends. "Do this again in two weeks?" You wanted to go home and nap while Bradley still had Rose out for a walk along the beach. You just wanted to be alone.
"Of course," Maria promised. "I'll text Bob to come pick me up, but you two can go on ahead."
"I'll wait with you," Cam told her, giving you a kiss on the cheek.
You made your way out and went home, leaning against the front door in relief when you found the house completely empty. Even Tramp and his yellow leash were gone. You ran to bed, curled up under the covers, and cradled your hand against your belly. It was impossible to tell if you had a baby bump, or if you were still chubby from last time.
Your thumb ran along the top of your leggings as you started to cry. You needed to pull yourself together. Did you cry this much with Rose? Did everything make you feel like you looked disgusting? Eventually you dozed for about an hour before the sound of the front door closing jolted you awake. Rose started screaming, probably hungry after being out for so long. You rolled out of bed, avoiding your reflection in the mirror at all costs, and went to meet them in the kitchen.
Bradley was trying to bounce Rose to keep her quiet, but you yanked your shirt off and reached for her. "Sorry," he muttered as your daughter latched on to eat as soon as she was touching you. "I tried."
"It's okay."
You fed one baby while you considered that her younger sibling was growing inside you, and for once, you couldn't figure out if you wanted to laugh or cry.
While she ate, Bradley looked at his phone and groaned. "Nat wants us to go to the Hard Deck tonight."
The idea of going out and pretending that you were drinking alcohol was too much to handle. Even if you could find someone to watch Rose, it didn't sound like a fun time.
"You go," you told him.
He glanced up and said, "I don't want to go without you."
A smile graced your lips as you told him, "Just go for one drink with your best friend. I'll drop you off and pick you up. You can tell her I'm pregnant if you want to."
"Really?" he asked, perking up like Tramp did when presented with a treat.
"Yeah. I told Maria and Cam earlier. I actually fell asleep on his shoulder in the booth, and when I woke up, they were both gaping at me. I figured I needed to say something."
Bradley snorted. "What did they have to say about Bradshaw Baby number two?"
"Cam is under the impression that you are working with some high quality equipment."
He burst into laughter. "I mean..."
You rolled your eyes as Rose switched to your other side. It was easy to feel better about things when it was just the three of you at home. You looked at your husband as he ate an apple in four bites and convinced yourself he would never do anything to hurt you. Then he drank half a beer and belched while he adjusted his junk, and you thought perhaps nobody else would want to deal with him anyway.
"I'll text Nat back. Then I'll pull the weeds around the playset while I decide what I'm doing about the bar."
You let Rose take a nap, but now that you'd also had one, you felt a little restless. Even after you did a few chores, including looking at items for a second baby nursery online, you wanted to get out of the house again. When Bradley came inside, stripping his sweaty shirt over his head, he said, "One drink. Don't leave me there too long, okay?"
"Is Jake going, too? Maybe I'll see if Cat and Jer are home and want visitors."
"That's a great idea," he replied, taking your hand when he walked past. When he gave you a little tug, you didn't move. "You coming?" he asked, clearly puzzled.
"Where?"
"What do you mean where?" he scoffed, tugging again. "To take a shower with me while Rose naps. Where else?"
It was hard to think about anything when your husband was on his knees in front of you, steamy water swirling around his tattooed bicep while his hands pinned you to the tile wall. But it was especially hard to focus on anything other than the feel of his mouth on your body. The scrape of his mustache. The pull of his lips. Soft and demanding and needy.
"Roo," you gasped, lungs full of the humid air, sucking in deep breaths as he looked up at you.
"God, Baby Girl," he rasped, thumb teasing your dainty rooster tattoo. "I'm so spoiled. Your tits look so pretty, and your belly will be big again soon."
You let your fingers drag through his wet curls, pushing them back from his forehead while he kissed the spot where you felt so tender as the baby grew.
"Roo!" you gasped, your hands both flying to your belly. "The baby! I can feel the baby moving!"
"Shit, really?"
His eyes were wide, alert with anticipation as you moved his palm to the spot where you could feel squirming. He eased himself closer on his knees, the shower hitting both of you with warm spray while he let you guide him. You felt it again, just another squirm as you pressed his palm harder to your belly.
"Right there," you whispered, and he closed his eyes. Your heart beat in your ears, an undeniably excited rhythm.
"I can't wait to feel it, too," he murmured, his cheek coming to rest against his hand. "You couldn't feel Rose this early."
"No," you agreed, watching your husband fall even more in love with the unborn baby. "Maybe another week or two and they'll be big enough for you to feel it." You played with his hair, letting him stay put until the water started to get cold.
-------------------------------
"I'll pick you up in a little while," you informed Bradley when you pulled into the parking lot at the Hard Deck. "Jake is already here, so I'll take Rose to hang out with Cat and Jer for a bit."
"Sounds good." He kissed you before unbuckling and leaning into the backseat to kiss his daughter. He was still shocked and in a mild daze over the baby moving during the shower. He wanted to feel those kicks against his palm, and now he'd be all over you in the upcoming weeks, looking for his chance.
"Have fun," you called before pulling away in your Bronco, but going to the bar to hang out without you was not his idea of a great night. He decided he'd just wait and see how the evening progressed before making a decision about telling Nat about the pregnancy. He smiled as he wondered how long it would be until you had to start wearing the maternity tent to work again.
"There you are!" shouted Nat when he walked past the bar, waving to Penny. "We're about to play pairs. You're with Hangman. Rack 'em, Rooster."
Bradley sighed and took the pool cue as she thrust it into his hand. "Can't I get a beer first?"
She turned and shouted, "Hey, Coyote! Get Rooster one!"
Javy saluted him from the bar as Bradley nodded and settled in to start the game. He and Jake wouldn't even have to try too hard to beat Nat and Reuben, but as he got into the groove of things, he realized he was having a pretty good time.
"You want another?" Jake asked him, and soon one beer turned into three. Bradley ended up buying the fourth round for his friends when Mickey arrived. He had enough in his system to not give a shit when Jake started ribbing on him for his new position at work.
"The way your students all jump to attention when they see you has got to be the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen in my life," he drawled, and Bradley nudged his foot, making him miss his shot.
"I'm still in shock that Cat agreed to marry you," Bradley replied before taking a sip of beer.
Jake rolled his eyes. "I'm surprised Angel let you get her pregnant. Shocked the baby didn't come out with a mustache."
Nat was cackling while Bradley snorted. "She's pregnant again." The words slipped out, but they felt too fucking good on his tongue, just like your body had in the shower.
"What?!"
He was instantly surrounded by his friends while Nat wrapped him up in a hug. "Are you serious? Another one so soon?" she asked with a suspicious looking smirk.
"Yeah," he replied, letting her squeeze him until he thought she might displace a rib. "Apparently I'm working with some high quality equipment."
"Ew!" Nat shrieked, letting go of him while Jake shook his hand.
"Poor Angel," he drawled. "She'll have another little Bradshaw on the loose soon."
"Whiskey shots on me," Reuben said, slapping Bradley hard on the back.
"Thanks, man," he replied while conversation about the baby settled to a normal volume. He drank his shot of whiskey, and that's when he realized he was actually kind of drunk.
The game of pool wore on, but nobody seemed to be keeping track of who won. So he kept going until his phone vibrated in his jeans pocket.
Baby Girl Bradshaw: I'm almost there. Rose fell asleep.
"I have to run," Bradley announced, dropping his cue into Jake's hand.
"You're so fucking whipped," Jake drawled. "Get out of here and knock your wife up again.... oh, wait."
Bradley gave him and everyone else double middle fingers behind his back as he walked toward the exit. He was tired and warm and buzzed, and he wanted to curl up next to you in bed and kiss the back of your neck. And maybe you'd let him look at your gorgeous tits. Maybe if he was really good, you'd let him taste you. The evening air hit his body, igniting so much need in him.
"Oh, sorry," he grunted, nearly plowing over someone in his rush to get to the parking lot.
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," came a now familiar voice. Blue eyes flashed up at him along with a smile that kept growing.
Indigo was dressed in street clothes, but he tried not to take notice as he nodded. "I knew you'd find The Hard Deck without my help."
She laughed, bright and clear as he tried to step past her. "Don't tell me you're leaving for the night."
A little pout found her lips, and Bradley nodded. "Yeah. It's getting late for a Sunday."
"Come on," she whined, the back of her hand brushing his as he made his way around her. "Let me buy you one drink."
His mind was still gooey with thoughts of taking you to bed as he shook his head. "Thanks, but I really need to go. Enjoy your night."
Then Nat burst through the door, movements slowing when she met his eyes. "You left your phone on the pool table." She tossed it to him, coordination pretty good for how much she'd had to drink. She started backing up toward the door as she said, "You better go home with your pregnant wife!"
Bradley smiled at his friend, but he could feel Indigo's eyes on him as he stepped off the deck toward the parking lot. And there you were, standing in the first aisle with your back against the red Bronco. Your lips were set in a firm line, and Bradley was about to make it his personal mission to kiss away that expression.
------------------------------
That younger woman was here with him. You'd seen her around base plenty of times lately, but now she was here. At the Hard Deck. At your favorite bar in your neighborhood. She was with your husband at the bar. They were already standing there together when you drove up and parked.
"Who is that woman?" you snapped at Bradley who was clearly drunk. His hands were all over your waist and hips as soon as he reached you.
"Hey, Sweetheart." His voice was deep and sexy, and you wanted nothing more than to melt into him, but she was still staring you down.
"Who. Is. She?" you hissed, your eyes starting to burn with unshed tears as you stared back. Bradley was kissing your neck now as the woman finally turned and went inside the bar. You already knew who she was. You were sure of it. You'd heard him use her call sign countless times, but you wanted him to say it now. "Bradley!"
"Huh?" he grunted, meeting your eyes.
"Who is that woman you were just with?"
"Natasha?" he asked, and you wanted to scream.
"The other woman, Bradley."
"Oh. That's Indigo."
Your heart sank as soon as he confirmed it for you, but he didn't seem to notice or care that you suddenly felt like your skin was on fire. That woman who was still so fresh out of flight school was already a top pilot, and she was beautiful, and she wanted your husband.
"Baby Girl," he moaned next to your ear. "Let's go home. Maybe we can get in bed and snuggle while I try to feel the baby move? Or you could let me finish what we started in the shower? I'm already so wound up."
You opened the passenger side door for him, slamming it shut as soon as he was inside. You glared at the entrance to the Hard Deck before heading around the Bronco to drive him home.
-----------------------------
Either way, it still looks bad, Bradley. We are riding along with all of BG's emotions, and it's a lot to handle. Thanks for reading. More coming soon. Thanks @beyondthesefourwalls

No One Mourns The Wicked
Tumblr media
This story is set in the Your Change of Plans universe. So read that first. Or don’t. Either way.
I’ll be honest. When Claire’s parents first told me they were sending her to the Little’s Program™️, I tried my best to stop them.
In my defense, Claire was beautiful and who wants to date a girl in diapers?
I mean, sure, she was stuck-up, shallow, and superficial. And yeah, she thought she was the Queen Bee wearing designer clothes and ruthlessly controlling our friend group.
She was a mean girl. Think Regina George. That kind of girl.
But now that I see her, stripped from her fancy, expensive clothes and attitude wearing that adorable diaper—I can’t help but agree it’s for the best.
“Awww, Clairebear! Don’t be shy!!! It’s just me!”
As you can see, Claire hid her face in her stuffies, too embarrassed to respond.
“Claire, honey,” her mom says, “Ryan came all this way to see you. We don’t ignore our guests, do we?”
A few weeks ago, Claire would’ve bit her mom’s head off for talking to her like that.
But now look at her.
Her mom turns to me, smiling. “She might need a few minutes to warm up to you. She’s still adjusting to her new life.”
Claire digs her face further into her stuffies, whimpering.
“It’s okay, I’m sure it’s a big transition for her. I mean, she did go from Prada to Pampers! Gucci to Gerber! Cartier to cribs! But she’s just so cute in that diaper!”
“Well she does have the best diapers on the market! Only the best for Claire,” her mom says, “Plus she’s been much better behaved since she got back. Sure, she still throws tantrums—all Littles do!—but now they’re about not wanting her poopy diaper changed instead of throwing a fit because we got her the wrong Hermes bag!”
“Now that is something I gotta see! Clairebear throwing a tantrum in a poopy diaper?! How cute is that?”
More whimpers from Claire.
“Well, you’re in luck! She’s past due for her afternoon boom boom. She usually goes during her nap but not today. Should be any minute!”
She pats Claire’s diaper playfully.
“It’s just so crazy,” I say astonished, “Claire poops her diapers now.”
“Yep, the Littles Center recommended the full package to fix her attitude after meeting Claire. Complete unpotty-training, inability to orgasm, and strict reliance on the Littles Center’s special baby formula. She can’t eat any adult food without getting an icky tummy!”
“Well, judging by the fact I haven’t heard Claire talk back at all, I’d say it’s working!”
“Like a charm! She did have a meltdown after we gave her fancy clothes to her cousins, but Littles don’t need fancy clothes, do they Claire?”
“M-maawmmmyyyyy,” Claire lisp’s adorably.
“Sorry, honey, but you need onesies and diapers! And I almost forgot, Claire also got the Babble Package™️, so she sounds just like a toddler! How cute is that?”
“I na a tawdwa!!” Claire shrieks.
It’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard.
“Of course you’re not,” I coo, “You’re our Clairebear!”
Claire’s mom smiles, “Well, why don’t I leave you two alone so you can catch up. Let me know if she makes a poopy!”
Claire moans again.
For the first time since her regression, I’m alone with Claire.
It’s strange, seeing her there in her diaper, completely docile. Nothing like the bossy, sexy woman she used to be.
I sit on the bed next to her, rubbing her shoulder. “Hey, Clairebear.”
She lifts her head from her stuffies. “H-hi Wyan.” Hearing herself she hides her head again.
Doing my best not to laugh, I push forward. “Don’t be embarrassed, sweetie. Not with me. You know I love you. Even if things are different.”
Hearing the “I love you,” Claire immediately turns around. “P-pwomith?”
“Yes, Claire, I promise.”
For the first time since I got there, Claire smiled and sat up against her pillows.
“Is this your stuffy?”
“Mhm! It’s Wy-Wy Dog!” she says excitedly, showing me her stuffed dog.
“Awww, did you name him after me?”
“Yeah!” she says, blushing a bit.
“Well I think he’s the cutest little stuffy in the whole world!”
Her smile fades slightly. “Don wan stuffies, wan you!”
I sigh. I knew it would come to this eventually. I wasn’t lying, I did love her. But I can’t date a Little. I need a woman, not a pamper packer.
“Clairebear, I love you, I really do. But you’re…you’re a Little now. It’s not appropriate for you to be in an adult relationship anymore.”
“Buh, buh!” she starts, stomping her hands and feet, “Na fawr!!! I you guwlfwien!!!”
As I look into her eyes, I no longer see the sophisticated, sexy woman she used to be. Whatever she used to be, whatever fun we used to have, a distant memory.
“Sorry, little one. I need a woman—an adult—and you’re not that anymore. You’re not even potty trained, it’s just not meant to be. Maybe you’ll find a nice guy at daycare!”
I knew I went too far right away. The tantrum started right away.
“NOOOOO!” she shouted, kicking her feet more than ever! Na a baby! Na na na!”
The kicking of her feet caused an immediate reaction. Her screaming suddenly stopped as her eyes grew wide.
“What’s wrong, honey?” I ask before a grunt answers my question.
A loud, bubbly toot trumpets out of her diaper, leaving no ambiguity of what’s happening. Her eyes furrow in concentration at the task at hand.
Her diaper expands rapidly as she grunts. Her eyes still unfocused as she works to fill her diaper.
All I can do is watch as the woman I once revered poops her diaper in front of me, no different from an actual toddler.
Well, I guess she basically is a toddler now.
After a few bubbly toots, her grunting stops. Though the smell immediately attacks my nose, barely mitigated by the baby powder in her diaper.
“Did someone just make a poopoo?” I ask in a babyish voice. I couldn’t help myself. It was instinctual.
It’s just how you talk to pamper packers.
“No poopies!” she shrieks, legs kicking again. Her diaper swaying dangerously.
“Are you sure about that, little one?”
“I didn’! You did!” she squeals, trying to kick me.
“Excuse me, Claire? This is not how a Little should behave! You do not fib about your diaper and you definitely do not try to kick adults!”
“Don care! Na baby!!”
“If you keep acting like this you’re gonna learn what happens to misbehaving Littles. I’ll give you one more chance before you end up on my lap.”
I almost felt bad. The last thing I did was want to cause Claire to throw a tantrum. But here we are.
“You na my mawmy! You dum baby too!” she retorted, still trying to kick me.
“No, but I am,” her mom says walking in, “I could hear your tantrum all the way down the hall! Were you trying to kick Ryan?”
Claire’s eyes grew wide. “I-I-I b-but!!”
“We do not kick our babysitters, do you understand me?” her mom said in that deeply maternal voice you hear when you’re in trouble.
In a flash, Claire’s mom is sitting on the bed, pulling her kicking and screaming Little on her lap.
Claire’s diaper is already browning, bulging under the weight of its contents.
She turns to me and says over Claire’s whining, “I’m sorry, Ryan. I did warn you about her poopy diaper tantrums! I’ll take care of this one, are you still on to babysit her Friday night?”
“Of course, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!”
“Great, you go on, I’ll see you then. I have to teach this little one some manners.”
As I walk out, I hear SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
I may have lost my girlfriend, but I can’t argue this isn’t for the best.

the one with the family matter
sirius black x reader ! - 2,157 words masterlist bags masterlist A/N: Early chapter today! i usually post rlly late at night... what would you guys prefer? morning/afternoon like this one/the usual night update? lmk <3
Tumblr media
Most mornings at 717 were nothing short of blissful. Or at least they used to be.
More often than not Sirius and you got lost in your cloying domestic bubble. The early morning hours passed by you like the rest of the world simply did not exist. By the time you crawled out of bed, which wasn't late by any means, Sirius had been up for a while. He rarely slept, properly that is, always restless and full of adrenaline. Sometimes he'd make breakfast, or fetch something from a nearby bakery, greeting you with a smile and teasing nicknames. His record player hummed songs that were engraved behind your tongue, the repetition of them causing them to be forever in your mind. Like a reflex. Other times, when you could tell he felt poorly, dragged by the weight of his family and his nightmares— you'd wake up to an empty apartment and a note on the counter. The neon pink Post-it from the muggle office supply store stuck to the handle of your coffee cup.
At Prongs's!
or the more vague,
On a ride!
He always signed it off with an - S, his quick slanted cursive and the small smiley face he always drew on it made the corners of your lips twitch up. Every morning your mug with coffee, prepared the exact way you liked, waited at the corner of the table, regardless of his presence. A heating charm on it so it'll never grow cold.
Recently, this pattern had vanished. When you had work you’d still do it, make his coffee, two sugars with cream, and stick a post-it on the handle. Sometimes with a happy face drawn right in the middle of it, other times with a small message,
don’t forget to help James build the baby’s crib!
picking up pastries for tonight!
have a good day!
But they largely went unmentioned, but Sirius didn't say much these days anyway. You both danced around it, good mornings and the rare good nights were said but not much else, there was no baking together on your off days, no impromptu trips to the fresh market, no rides on the tube clinging to each other. No, you went alone now, and when he did go with you— only when the apartment was finally completely barren of food, the two of you apparated in and out. Silently.
On your off days when your eyes watered looking at his closed door— you didn’t even know if he was in there or not— you’d go knock on Remus and Peter’s door. Sometimes only one of them would be there, sometimes both of them, they’d greet you with tea, or sweets, and Peter would ramble on about his shitty lower-level ministry job while stuffing you full of cookies, Remus would talk to you about his mother’s swaying health and how his job at the muggle supermarket was actually kind of enjoyable, how he was trying to quit smoking, but I keep smoking the whole bloody pack the closer it gets to the full moon. Other times, Remus would see you through the peephole and knock back, Sirius is there. You’d slink back up to your apartment without further refute. You missed him, dearly, you hadn't woken up to a coffee or a note since you told him about your job. You didn’t dare say anything.
The two of you still sat, on opposite sides of the couch now, to watch your soaps every other night. It was the small bit of comfort you held onto. Sometimes he left halfway through, like water slipping through your fingers.
You kept finding empty cigarette packets all over the apartment.
It felt kind of silly, you didn't understand what his problem was. He should be happy he isn't pouring his entire trust fund down the hatch with you. He was disowned, whatever money was in his safe at Gringotts was it. No more. To be fair you had not a single clue about how much was in there anyway- but it really isn't any of your business.
This morning was one filled with his absence. You tried not to worry, but you couldn't help it, his absence feeling like an omen. The apartment motionless and cold, the way the air feels right before the rain. This morning wasn't any different, the darkness of the sky settling a gloom over you. You hugged the coffee close to your chest between sips, your fingers twirling the red marker as you completed the crossword on the Daily Prophet. You pondered calling your mom briefly or going down a floor to pester Remus and Peter— What use is it to live in the same buildings as your closest friends if you can't bother them? As you resolved to do just that, a harsh knock rang through the apartment. You faltered, Sirius had a key, not only that but he'd never knock that way. It was particular, heavy and urgent.
A second round of knocks broke through your thoughts, so you padded over to the door.
If you didn't know better you would've said it was Sirius. But you could see, even through the small opening of the peephole, their clear differences. You swung the door open.
"Oh- my apologies I must have the wrong place- good day" He was quick to do a quick bow and turn away.
"Regulus?" The younger boy's eyes widened, and there was a stutter in his step as he turned back towards your door. It was startling, to see him. They were so similar, the high cheekbones, the darkness of their hair. Regulus sported a white streak, combed neatly along with the rest of his short hair. You could hear Sirius through your thoughts, mommy's boy. It was uncanny, to look at him, the roundness of their lips, the way their brows twitched in confusion. His eyes were greener but not any less piercing than his older brother's. They missed the warmth that emanated from Sirius’s gaze.
"What are you doing here"
He opened his mouth and closed it quickly, piercing eyes analyzing your face as he finally figured out who you were. You tried not to take any offense.
"Are you looking for Sirius?" The boy simply nodded and approached the door as you motioned him inside. "He's not in right now but I can- just come in I’ll find him for you-"
"I'm sorry I thought this was where he lived" You motioned him to sit at the stools of your high kitchen table as you closed the door behind him, the wood creaking as he hesitated between standing and sitting. It was strange to see cold, quiet, and clean-cut Regulus, with his dark sharp tailored coat between the warmth of your house. Between the mismatched furniture and portraits on the walls. So out of place, but you supposed he and Sirius were always out of place when compared to one another.
"He does, he's just out" You gave him a sweet smile as you started brewing some tea, marking the phone Lily insisted on installing in their house, and pressed your ear against the phone's receiver.
"Hello?" Lily's crackly voice came through as she picked up, but you could hear Sirius and James chatting animately even through the static of the phone line.
"Lilykins please tell me my roommate is at yours he has a visitor-" You stretched the cord as far as it could as you walked to get a mug out, the cable rolling back into its curls as you walked close again.
"Tell him it's urgent please" Regulus spoke up as you spoke, and you could hear it now, the small twinge of panic in his voice. His foot bounced sporadically as if he was reminding himself he shouldn't bounce it but would still forget to stay still.
"Urgent matters apparently-"
"Get him out of my house please- I don’t know what lover’s quarrel you two are going through but hash it out soon will you? my sister's coming soon and I need to clean-" You chuckled, forced and breathless, and ignored the fact that she knew something was wrong between the two of you, you wondered what he had said about it. You didn’t ask. You bid goodbye and hung up the phone back in its holder. Regulus’s quiet dragged you back down, you could feel his eyes burning holes in the back of your figure as if he was analyzing you. You pursed your lips as you worked on his tea, mulling over what you’d say to him, it wasn’t often he came around. Or ever. He had never been in your home.
You had met, if you could call it that, Regulus Black exactly two times.
One was at school, during your sixth year when Evan Rosier’s taunts finally broke through Sirius’s hard facade and he finally swung at him. It wasn’t pretty, the long-haired boy pinning down Rosier as they both landed blow after blow at each other. Both you and Regulus pulled your respective friends away, the boys bloody and bruised. It wasn’t much of an introduction nor did you even speak, but you could see even then the soft, blue state of Regulus as he looked at Sirius. Sad and alone.
It reminded you of Sirius when he was younger. Of when you first met.
The second time you saw Regulus Black was at graduation, right after Sirius handed you the matching key. Between bubbling excitement and clinging to each other, Sirius’s face broke, a flinty stare taking over. I’ll be back love, his lips pressed against your temple as he moved away. You could see him arguing with Regulus behind a pillar, mirrored expressions on their faces.
It was eerie, like watching Sirius through a funhouse mirror. The same but- not. Almost but not quite.
Reflections of one another, but neither measuring up.
“Can I ask what brings you here?” You poured the tea into his mug, bringing it over to him. His hands immediately wrapped around it and he took a sip.
“I’m afraid it's a private family matter-” you hummed in acknowledgment, brows raised as you asked:
“Thought Sirius wasn’t family anymore,” You didn’t mean to be hurtful, you knew how hard Sirius’s disownment had been on Regulus too. It was quite possibly the only thing Sirius ever spoke about regarding leaving his family. How heartbroken he was to leave his brother, how shattered Regulus had been too.
“Sorry that came off harsher than I intended-”
“No- you’re right, but I reckon he still deserves to know,” Regulus refused to meet your eyes, staring deeply into the liquid in the deformed pink mug you had made with Sirius sometime last spring when he insisted on taking a pottery class. Your skills weren't quite there.
The two of you stayed quiet for a beat, fighting the urge to ask again. Regulus fought not to tell you.
“Are you engaged yet?” You almost spit out your tea.
“W-what?”
“Did Sirius ask you yet? To marry him?”
“Sirius and I aren’t together-” You felt your cheeks warm, you were lucky if Sirius even spoke to you these days.
“Oh…” His expression paled, eyes wide as he tried to understand what you were telling him. “My apologies I just thought… never mind-” He looked away again, taking slow sips of the tea again, “I’m sorry,”
“It’s okay…”
“I just- he’s always talked about-” The air crackled with a small crack and pop, interrupting Regulus, Sirius stood in the middle of the room now. Regulus stood up, the tea abandoned on the table as he faced his older brother.
“Sirius-”
“What do you want? How do you know I live here-” Regulus took a step back, a deep breath inflating and deflating his chest as he looked at you, and then back at Sirius. Sirius got closer, barely two steps away from his brother. Looking at them now, side by side, you could see the differences. Not physical, no in that aspect they were two sides of the same coin. But Sirius stood tall, proud, and defensive like he was made of iron like nothing could hurt him. Teeth bared, ready to bite his way through. Regulus stood the opposite, straight but restrained, almost as if ready to take a hit, arms behind him and clutching his wrist with white knuckles.
“May we talk in private?”
“I’ll leave-” You made to move,
“Stay put- No, just spit it out Regulus-” You could see the sadness crack through Sirius’s tough demeanor. You could tell from the red rim in his eyes, and the way he stood straighter, face raised ever so slightly. As if ready for a fight. You knew he could never physically fight his brother, but if Regulus stood in your kitchen any longer Sirius might break and cry.
You thought of calling James.
“Mother is dead… didn’t wake up this morning”

Having more silly thoughts about Farmer!Anakin!!
It was quiet. Too quiet. A few minutes ago before the air around you had turned silent, you heard and saw Anakin hammering against the fences outside while watching him from the little pink window of the kitchen. At first, he refused to paint it pink, but how could he deny the wishes of his wife who's also the mother of his sweet baby girl?
With a loud sigh, he turned around, looking at you inside the house. He throws the hammer back into his tool box and makes a little 'cmere' motion with his fingers. He seemed mad.
You put your baby into her crib, stroking her cheek one last time while she squeals, before quickly walking outside to your garden. Some of the lambs immediately run up to you, and with a loud giggle, you push yourself through the herd.
“Hun..you remember what you told me in the morning? Before I left for the market.” He asks strictly, holding you softly with his rough hands at your hips.
“Uhh..mhm hm! I told you l that I'll cook your favourite dinner tonight!”
“Yeeees baby, but that's not what I mean,” he replies, trying to keep up his tough guy facade. You were just so sickly sweet; he could never stay mad at you.
With a sigh, he points towards the clothes line where your towels and some of his shirts are hanging. “You promised you'd get the clothes off and fold them together before I came back.”
"Awhhhh that, I forgot. I'm sorry..I was playing with the baby the whole time and completely forgot.” You mumbled, looking down a little.
To others, it would seem irrelevant. 'Oh, she didn't get the clothes and towel off, horribleeee’. But for you, it was bad. Anakin did everything for you. Paid the bills, worked around the house and farm, ect. Yet, you couldn't even remember to fold the clothes together.
“Sigh. It's fine, baby. I'm not mad, okay? Let's do it together, alright? We'll be faster that way.” He replied with a smile, wiping his hands with a cloth before putting it back into his pockets.
He lays a hand on the small of your back and leads you to the clothing line. When he noticed the tears in your glossy eyes he sighed. “Don't cry..I told you it's fine, alright?” He picks up the basket and starts to take the clothes and towels off the clothing line with you while folding them in the air. His muscles were just begging to get out of that tight shirt he was wearing.
“See? 's waaaay quicker this way.” He commented, following you while you carried the basket back inside your little house you called home.
While you carry it upstairs, he goes to pick up your baby out of her crib in the living room, holding her softly while kissing her all over her chubby face. She squeals and reaches out for his collar with her small fists.
“Hopefully you don't grow up to be as clueless as your mama..”

daddy az?? daddy cass?? what about daddy eris 🥺🥺
Oh, I've been waiting to write for our fire boy more.
Future daddy
Let's all be honest with ourselves here. Eris is not someone who would go bouncing off the rooftops when you tell him that you're carrying his baby. That is not to say that he isn't happy. He is. But he's so unbelievably scared that it overpowers everything else. Especially if Beron is still alive and in charge of Autumn.
Hence why, I think, he's getting you out of the main quarters. Somewhere deep into the woods. In some cabin that only he knows of. Somewhere close to winter's borders so that in case you could cross it and Kallias would take care of you for the time being. Because Eris is paranoid. He only trusts himself and his childhood healer who has been in his life ever since he was born. And so I think the beauty of the first months of your pregnancy is kind of washed away by all of this. The worrying. The panic. Eris constantly being on the edge.
But then it all slowly starts to change. One morning he noticed, while you're slowly getting dressed, the tiny bumps forming there and he's never the same afterwards. Eris rolls out of bed, sinking to his knees right in front of you, warm palm carefully caressing the little growing baby there. His eyes fill up with tears as he rests his head on your chest, "I've been such bad mate, such a bad father", he crocks out. "What are you on about, Eris?", you ask him feeling concerned. "You deserve so much more. I haven't even told you how happy I am... How much... How much I love you both", he breathes out. "We both know, darling. Believe me. We love you endlessly", you mutter while brushing his tears away.
And it all just changes. From then moving forward. The only way he can sleep at night is if his hands are resting on your tummy, so big spoon Eris is in full force. He never leaves without giving you and your bump a kiss. The same goes for saying hello. He too enjoys talking to the belly. But I would say that he reads to it more than tells stories of the day. Eris's days are too full of his father's brutality and he wants to keep away from the baby. So he reads the books that he had read to Lucien himself, or found in a little market. He's so good at making different voices for the characters and you can't help but look at him with so much love, already picturing him reading the same story to your baby when they are older and can understand or at least react to their father's voice.
Call me out on it but I think Eris is exceptional at making food and he also loves doing it. So on his free days, he is more than happy to cook for you or make sweet apple tarts. He's also working on a crib himself. Carving all the little woodland trees and creatures, squirrels and deer, berries and leaves. It's something that he's extremely passionate about and let's face it you would be sobbing once he shows it to you. Something so special. Made with so much love by their father. And I think he would like to leave space around the borders so he could carve out your baby's name and keep adding names with each new family member.
Takes you on walks through the forest because moving around is important. Hand around your waist to pull you closer to him, the other on your bump. Stopping to pick flowers for you and thread them through your hair. Plus imagine how nice his fire hands would feel again all the pains and aches. And he does it without even being asked. If you two are sat down on the sofa or even in bed, he always massages your feet. Stopping to rub your shoulders and back. Loving to just sway with you while he's holding up your bump once it gets heavier.
Not to mention a pack of wolf-breed dogs that are your army. Like, forget doing anything on your own. You're peeing with at least twelve eyes looking at you. Receiving bumps to your leg or side if you haven't eaten anything in a while and they start to feel your blood sugar dropping. Heck, trust them to bring you snacks from the kitchen. And the best naps in between all the fluff furs. Eris is more than happy that his doggos are so in love and protective of you two. It's that extra comfort for him. He knows they would fight till death to protect you two.

Hiii love
So, like, can you write where the reader is pregnant with a toxic!rafe child, and she runs away scared for her unborn child, and rafe finds them a few months after they baby is born. If you're not comfortable, I completely understand love
(basically Reader was a kook but then ran away from Rafe, becoming a pouge. Kiara only knows she’s there bc they went to school together.)
Tumblr media
You sit in the small living room thinking to yourself. Were you wrong for running away? I mean you were young..
You then hear baby cries from the nursery. You rush to the room and pick up the crying baby. You sit in the rocking chair next to it and start humming lullabies. As the baby fell into slumber you hear a knock at the door. You remembered that you had called Kiara to babysit for a while , while you go grocery shopping. You set the baby down into the crib and quickly got dress. You button your blue striped white blouse and grab your bag.
You open the door, to see your best friend. “Hey girl.” She said hugging you. You returned the hug. “Well she’s asleep and y’know the rest.” I smiled at her. She steps in the house as you exited. “Hey!” She shouts you look back at the door frame to see a baseball hat being thrown at you. “Be careful!” She says. “ I will.” I smiled at her once again. You get into your old red Cadillac and start driving.
You park your car on the side of your door. You see a familiar car but you shrug it off. As you walk into the market you see missing papers stabled onto the walls. You open the door and grab a basket and start looking in the food isles.
Tumblr media
You get to baby food isle and look through the food choices. You then hear foot steps behind you. “Y/n?” I hear a voice. I look at the person.
topper…
You swallow hard. You step back “y-you’re alive?” “Man, your parents have been worried and Rafe..”you quickly run out to check out. You were lucky that the cashier was fast. You pay while feeling a shorten of breath and felt tear swell up in your eyes.
You throw the grocery in the back of the seat and start driving. The familiar car starts to follow you. Topper..
Making a sharp turn you lose him. You quickly get back onto the road back to home. Carrying the groceries into the kitchen you felt a liquid fill up in your mouth. Running to the bathroom and locking the door, throwing up. Kiara was worried trying to unlock the door. “I’m fine!” You yelled out. “You sure?!” No response. A few bangs on the door made you reply. “Well I have to get going, my parents are going to be mad at my ass if I’m not home.” “Okay..” you replied. Hearing the door close, you brush your teeth and exited the bathroom to check your baby. You see she’s fine and start unpacking the food.
Tumblr media
Later on, night came in and was peaceful. You fed daisy and played and bit , after a while it was her bedtime. You laid her to sleep and started to clean. Sitting down with a cup of tea and relaxing. You hear a knock on the door. You stood up and had seen sprinkles of rain. Opening the door you see a tall figure. Wearing a blue flannel and combat boots, but had a buzz cut. “Y/n!” He said hugging me tightly pushing me further into the house.
“Where have you been.” He said kissing my forehead. I hold onto his wrists. “Rafe..” I whispered to myself. I knock out of it and push him away. “No… no..” a tear fell down my cheek. “Honey, I’ve gotten better, please come back.” He has his hands up in defense. I sit down on the couch. “I’m sorry!” I cried into my knees. “You shouldn’t be sorry, I mean there has to be some kind of reason why you left.” He say sitting on the couch.
“I-i was pregnant…” I sobbed. His face turns white. “You were pregnant with my child?” “Yes, and I’m sorry! I just didn’t want to ruin your life! I mean you have drugs and went out to parties!” I sniffled. “It’s not your fault.. I should be the one apologizing, I should’ve been when you needed me than hanging out with other people.” He expressed. I look up at him with red puffy eyes.
“how did you find me?” You asked. “Topper told me what happened at the market and followed you.” He chuckles.
You wanted a father for your child, and you wanted the actual father. But I wouldn’t have hurt to start seeing someone else. But there a change in his heart. The way he loved you. He knew that the past tense him was not responsible.
So you gave him a chance.
“Can I see them?” He asks lifting my chin up. “Her.” I say. I grab his hand and walked to the nursery. To see a beautiful babygirl. “What’s her name?” “Daisy.”
“you’re favorite flowers.” He smiled.

Okay I need to hear about the Ghostbusters Minrathous fic lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you wish, my Darlings! @sunny374940, @pursuitofeverything, @draco-illius-noctis
-/- Tethras Studios Presents -/-
(We hear the click and shutter of an old home movie camera. Grainy footage ensues.)
Rook (voice): Ready?
Bellara (voice): Okay. We’re all set.
(Interior, a dark dingy room, the camera wavers and then focuses on Rook. She is dressed head to toe in a faded purple jumpsuit, complete with boots, gloves, and a myriad of straps and buckles.)
Rook: Is it recording?
Bellara (voice behind camera): Recording in progress.
Rook (nervously breathes out, friendly smile): Okay! Hi there viewer! Are you having trouble with spirits?
(Disconcerting screech, like a scream or a skipped record player. Cut to black.)
(Crisp camera footage. Exterior, Minrathous, night. We hear the distant sounds of the city and traffic, police sirens. The city is dark and enveloped in fog. The dim lights of the buildings stretch out on the horizon.)
Neve VOICEOVER: In a world of magic, things are rarely what they seem.
(Interior, a dingy room full of junk. Bellara is seated at a desk taking apart some elvhen artifacts with a screwdriver. Tighten focus to her face. Her eyes widen as blue light begins to grow and a strange warble is heard.)
Neve VOICEOVER: Some of these things are otherworldly…
(Interior, large villa, dark. All the lights are off. Emmrich, and Rook creep forward, wearing jumpsuits and carrying gear. Above them on a staircase we catch a glimpse of a glowing blue figure dart past.)
Neve VOICEOVER: …unwanted…
(Interior, bedroom, dark. Lucanis lies in bed sleeping peacefully. Tighten focus on face. His eyes pop open to reveal violet light. Camera pans away to wall where we can see his shadow sitting up, and violet light outlines the shadow of bony wings sprouting from his back.)
Neve VOICEOVER: …even dangerous.
(Exterior, night, a dark, wet alley with trash and neon signs. Davrin is walking Assan on a dog harness. He stops, looks behind him at the camera. Fear washes over his face, he starts running with Assan.)
Rook (voice): Hold up!
(Skipped record player sound again. Cut back to interior, first dingy room with Rook. The footage is grainy again.)
Bellara (voice behind camera): What? That was really good.
Rook: Can they see the logo?
(Rook tugs at her jumpsuit, clearly displaying a cartoonish depiction of a bright, green ghost, with the initials S.W.I.M. underneath it.
Neve (behind camera, a little impatient): It look’s fine, Rook.
Bellara (behind camera, enthusiastic): It looks great!
(Rook smiles a big, shit-eating grin.)
Rook VOICEOVER: We’ve got a really top-notch team together.
(Crisp camera footage. Interior, library. Emmrich in casual wear, working diligently at a table strewn with hand-written notes and ancient books. He has glasses pushed up into his hair and a pencil in his mouth because sexy.)
Rook VOICEOVER: Really the best of the best!
(Cut to exterior, day, Neve looking fabulous in a Noir riff outfit strides with confidence through a busy market in pursuit of a shifty looking Dorian, also fabulous in Noir riff outfit.)
Rook VOICEOVER: So give us a call at 1-800-swim. And trust Spirit Whisperers Inc. Minrathous with the problems that haunt you!
(Cut to interior, old public building. A very fearful looking Emmrich has his hand on Rook’s arm, both in casual wear.)
Emmrich: I don’t know, Rook.
(Rapid montage of scenes including spirits of various colors popping out of doors, chasing a car through the woods, passing in front of windows, descending on a baby’s crib, creeping into a bedroom where Bellara is peacefully sleeping, swinging from a lamppost cackling maniacally.)
Emmrich (voice): I think we may have bitten off rather a mouthful this time.
(Montage grows more rapid and violent; Neve and Bellara in an attic, Dorian frantically driving behind the wheel of a car, Assan crouching in a corner, Rook’s head forced underwater. Camera slows to show entire team of Rook, Neve, Bellara, and Emmrich in uniform, in what appears to be some sort of basement, backing away from a violently shaking wardrobe.)
(Cut to Harding in a police office, her legs stretched casually on the desk, Taash in uniform beside her, their arms crossed over their chest.)
Harding (longsuffering, cigarette in hand): Tell me about it.
(Cut to black. More maniacal laughter.)

Requested Can you please do a Jack Dawkins x reader who has a panic attack? ( comfort/fluff no smut ) wait omg plz do 🙏 only if you're comfortable of course
Warnings: Panic Attack In great detail! Please be careful!
I opened my eyes and was forced into this world, for a few brief seconds I enjoyed my peace until the chaos ensued.
Olivia cried in her crib, her little body in her baby clothes stood up in her crib, her hands on the top of the bars as she shook them, her face red and her eyes squeezed tight with tears streaming down her face.
Luna screamed on her bed, wearing her little white nightie, she jumped up and down on her bed screaming at Martin, as he tried to take her teddy.
Martin shouted as he was took all the various teddies and toys to steal for himself, half-dressed but nothing more than his socks and trousers.
Lucas hits his stick on various things in the house, not dressed at all so he runs around naked, each hit makes a loud bang.
He even knocks off a vase causing it to smash and sending broken pieces all over the floor.
I forced myself up out of bed, my body exhausted but I had little choice but to get up and function. I quickly cleaned up the broken vase and just got on.
I briefly became an octopus or I wish I had,  as I managed to cook breakfast, get each of my siblings washed, dressed, hair brushed and presentable, get myself dressed, changed Olivia, quelled four arguments and made the beds Before we even hit the top of the hour. I felt faint but Ignored it and pushed on.
And right on time once every job was done, my mother trudged down the staircase from her bedroom upstairs in her nightie, her hair matted and messy, her whole body stank of whiskey, she sat herself in the chair and snapped her fingers.
The snap caused my heart to jump from my chest to my throat, beating rapidly, I hated myself but I handed over her spirit bottle.
She immediately took an intense swig of it, and the first words out of her mouth were harsh and bitter,
"Where's my vase?"
"Lucas broke it this morning," I told her,
"Find a replacement today."
"Yes Mother," I nodded,
"And we are out of food."
"Yes, Mother I will get food at the market."
"and I need more drink."
"Yes, Mother I will get some,"
"They'll be late for the schoolhouse."
"I know, I'm just taking them." I nodded, "Come everyone school time." I told them to sort them all out with their books and what little lunch I could give them and got them all out the door on time,
"You won't see me later, I'm going out."
"Yes Mother," I sighed "Perhaps not too late-"
"Dont. Say a word." She demanded,
I nodded and just got going into town.
Of course, the town was bustling with the commotion of carriages, horses, carts and people all going about their business. I did my best with Olivia on my hip to make sure everyone else behaved and avoided getting hurt, having to juggle the three of them to the schoolhouse. a twisting in my stomach but I didn't have time to dwell on it,
As soon as they were in the school house I had to scamper my way across town to drop Olivia off at her nursery, then before I had much time I had to get myself to my work in the local tailor pushing open the door and heading in grabbing my apron as I went catching my short breath.
"You're late again!" He snapped,
"Sorry Mr Ashworth, I had to drop my siblings off," I said quickly sitting at my old rickety sewing machine almost fifteen years old this machine but still I had to use it every day to do hems and repairs, the pile as tall as me beside my table, having to go slow but not too slow or I'll never get finished, fast but not to fast as to damage the fabric, or catch my fingers, or break a needle, every time I had to rethread the machine with a new colour or type of thread for a different fabric or use I held my breath for a few seconds it took to change but every second counts and I can't afford delays. The longer the day went on I began to lose feeling in my fingertips, with tingling of pins and needles in my fingers and toes, but I pushed through even if it did mean I cut myself more often as without feeling I got dangerously close to my scissors and needles.
As soon as work was over I had to rush across town and pick up my siblings from the school house, I tried to keep them all in line as we headed to the market, and I got all the things we would need for the next few days while also batting at their hands to try and get them to settle and not steal things even if some things had to be paid for because someone ran off with them, all the while I kept feeling these flashes or heat, or chill but I don't have time to dwell on temperature.
Once I got all the food I took them home and left them to play dropping the groceries off too before I returned back to town to go looking for a replacement for my mother's vase, it was slim pickings but I managed to get one and haggle down the price to what little I had left for this month. I knew by now my legs were trembling, and my body felt like giving in but all I needed now was to pick Olivia up, go home, make dinner, do a round of baths and get everyone to bed. Ready to do all of it again tomorrow.
When a young boy ran past knocking into me sending me tumbling down to the ground the vase hitting the ground and smashing into a million little pieces.
"No... no... no no no no" I muttered trying to put it back together.
And the moment it smashed, I completely broke open.
Tears streamed down my face, as I cried hysterically, my breath short and shaky, my throat choking and tight with every breath, my mouth dry and sickly, my heart raced jumping in and out my chest, my fingers and toes numb, my head dizzy almost to faint, my every limb shook and sweated, my stomach churned and turned like a hurricane, I couldn't even think, or even begin to know where to start to fix myself.
"Oh my goodness, are you alright?" A voice asked but I couldn't pick up much about it I just was lost almost distant from my body as it went through this agony, "Come on, with me." He said helping me to my feet and leading me to a rear alley out of sight of others, he helped me to lean against the wall and began to speak to me his voice soothing, and with his every word I began to slowly feel like I was swimming like I was at sea, my body a boat and slowly I was swimming back to it. "Okay, it's okay, Just breathe. Just Breathe with me... Breath in." He asked and I did my best even if I felt so short and so breathless, "And out." He asked so I did as he asked between my tears, "Okay, Just follow me just breathe with me, In... and out." He reassured He walked me through each breath he would make me inhale for five whole seconds, hold it for five more and then release for five seconds, he walked me through this for a good while until my breathlessness began to disappear, and between my tearful eyes my vision cleared and I saw him.
He was a young man,  I wouldn't say much older than me, in brown trousers, a white shirt, a blue waistcoat, a green tie, a slightly purple jacket, and a hat, he had deep chocolate eyes and seemed to genuinely want to help me.
"There we go, That a little better?" he asked and I nodded even if I still couldn't stop, "Alright, I want you to do some things for me, alright? Can you do that for me?" he asked and I nodded, "Alright, I want you to tell me three things you can hear, doesn't matter what just focus on the sounds and repeat them back to me."
For a moment I couldn't hear anything my ears ringing and burning but I knew one thing I could hear and I forced it out "You're voice."
"My voice,  That's perfect," He smiled, "You think you can do another one for me?"
I tried to listen to pour all my attention into my ears and I could hear "The Market Stalls,"
"You can hear the market? That's perfect, one more for me? One more thing?"
I listened closely trying hard to hear anything else "horseshoes,"
"Horseshoes, Excellent, what do you think they're from?"
"A carriage maybe?"
"Yeah I think so too," he chuckled, "You able to tell me your name?"
"Y/n."
"Y/n, That's a very lovely name." He smiled, "I'm Jack. You feel a little better?" he asked and I nodded "Good, That's very good. Just slow down, keep breathing for me, just stay here and stay still  a moment."
"I can't I need to-"
"The only thing you need to do right now is to get better. Trust me I'm a doctor. You're strung out to the limit and in the middle of a panic attack. Whatever it is I'm sure it can wait a moment." he said, "Y/n I want you to tell me three things you can see, doesn't matter what any three things."
I was nervous and still struggling but slowly my symptoms began to slow and I noticed just how fuzzy my voice was from the tears and how tunnelled my vision was, "Uhhh I uhh I see you..."
"Good, that's good you see me," he said, "Anything else?"
"The uhhh the sky."
"You see the sky, that's perfect, it's a very nice afternoon. One more I know you can do it."
"The wall, for the bakery."
"That's perfect, the bakery wall. Can you imagine all the lovely cakes, and pasties, and fresh loaves in there?"
"I uhh I can." I nodded,
"Excellent, One more little thing y/n, I want you to tell me three things you feel okay?"
as he said it I noticed just how little I really noticed but with each thing I listed to him I became more aware and more into this world again,
"I, I feel the wall."
"How does it feel?"
"Cold, uhh stoney I suppose."
"Stoney?" he laughed, "what else?"
I slightly moved my feet feeling the dusty dirt around my boots slightly move to the side like sand as I did so, "I feel the dirt, as it pushes away."
"How does it feel against your boots?"
"Rough and small"
"That's good, one more for me, just one more."
As he asked it I felt almost normal, and I noticed "Your hand." I said, His hand graced mine his fingers on my wrist checking my pulse, the other on my neck but not harshly not as if attempting to harm me or threaten my throat but merely rested there as if he was monitoring my every gasp,
"How do my hands feel?"
"Uhh Warm,"
"Good."
"They feel rough," I blushed a little trying not to giggle while also trying to you know not insult the man who helped me,
He chuckled, "Yeah, Surgeon. Sorry about that." He chuckled,
"Does that mean they are dirty?"
"I mean... yeah probably, I'm sorry for that too."
"It's okay. I uhh Thank you."
"You're welcome," He smiled, "I saw you were struggling I thought you were having a heart attack and first but no, a panic attack, Do you get these a lot?"
"unfortunately yes."
"Alright, well. The best thing I can say is to try to manage your stress so it doesn't overflow, maybe slow down a little but those three sights, sounds, and feelings are really good it help calm and ground so use it when you can alright?"
"I uhh I will do my best."
"I assume you have a stressful life?"
"Understatement."
"If I let you go right now are you going to go straight back to the level of stress you were at?"
"I uhh... I am late from picking my sister up, and I need to get a new vase for my mother, and I need to get home and do dinner and get everyone to"
"Okay. Okay." he said stopping me, "I'm getting bloody anxious just listening to that,"
"Sorry-"
"It's alright, I was heading home anyway I can come give you a hand if you like?"
"No no, I couldn't-"
"It's no trouble, you need to relax a little if I can take something off your plate anything it'll help. In fact as your doctor at this moment I insist."
"Well okay, my mother insists I come home with a new vase."
"Okay, I can find a vase. anything particular?"
"No, just a vase."
"Okay." He nods,
"I uhh but I don't have any money left."
"You let me worry about that, it's on me." He smiled, "I'll meet you back here when I'm done." he smiled heading off back to the market,
I blushed but smiled and headed on my way picking up Olivia luckily she was asleep by now, and I returned to the alley where Jack already waited with a vase in hand.
"Did I do good?"
"It's beautiful. How'd you-"
"It's best not to ask questions." he winked, "Aww who's this little lady?"
"This is Olivia." I smiled letting him see her but not wake her,
"Aww, she's beautiful, your daughter?"
"Sister, well half-sister really... though I don't honestly know." I answered, "But thank you so much, I really need to get home now,"
"Alright, I'll walk with you, so long as you don't mind,"
"Ohh no of course not, thank you."
"It's alright no trouble, here you take this, and I'll take this little lady." He smiled handing me the vase and taking Olivia letting her sleep on his shoulder as we walked, by the time we got home I felt a rush of anxiety as the house was a tip and my siblings losing their minds from being home alone so long,
"Oh no no no."
"It's okay, don't worry. You take her and get her to bed. I'll take this lot and sit with them in the garden we can have a play around and get some energy out"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, it's no problem," he said,
"Alright, Okay everyone outside with Mr- uhh"
"Dr, Dawkins."
"Everyone out to the gardens with Dr Dawkins," I told them and of course, a chance to play outside was not passed up, he went out with them and I began work I put Olivia down to sleep in her cot and cleaned the house as best and putting the new vase on the shelf. Once done I sighed in relief and went out keeping the door open as I saw Jack helping my siblings, playing with them, playing a game of knights. Luna is a princess, Martian is a dragon and Lucas is a knight with Jack narrating them and helping them play.
I smiled and took a seat on the bench outside the front door taking a rare moment to... be at peace,
"You feel a bit better now?" He asked sitting beside me,
"Yes, thank you, Jack."
"you're very welcome. they're great, a lot of energy."
"Yeah well the get cooped up a lot."
"You know talking does wonders for anxiety." He smiled, "I'm not that sort of doctor but I'm happy to listen anyway?"
"I don't want to burden you, you've done enough."
"It's not a burden I want to help, and I admit I'm curious about you."
I chuckled a little, "Well, we live here all of us."
"All five of you?"
"Six my mother too."
"Ahh, your father?"
"Never met him."
"You said Olivia might be your half-sister, where's her father?"
"They all are my half-siblings, as far as I know. None of us have the same father, as far as I am aware. None of them have ever met them."
"I see. You're mother she a -"
"She was,"
"That explains that then."
"It does, yeah."
"Then... why are you looking after them?"
"Mother... likes to drink."
"Ohh."
"yeah."
"I see. So she just goes out and drinks all day? leaves you alone with them?"
"Pretty much, sometimes she's here just... hungover as all hell."
"So you do... everything I guess?"
"cook. clean. baths. bed. back and forth to school."
"I'm surprised you didn't crack sooner..."
"Well, sink or swim I guess."
"I suppose so, still school gives you some break time I guess."
"I wish, got to go to work while they're at school, and Olivia isn't old enough yet."
"Hold up- You work?"
"Yes."
"You have a job! on top of basically full-time caring for four kids?"
"Yes."
"what do you do?"
"Tailor's assistant in town, I run the old machine in the back doing alterations."
"Ohh my god- that's a tough busy job. You work quickly in there."
"We do, two days or less for your garment to impress he really likes that motto."
"I know, I got this repaired in like a day last time I got a rip in it," he said looking at his shirt,
"Yeah I think I remember it," I laughed looking at the familiar shirt, "Yeah, I was going fast the seam is crooked," I laughed
"Ohh? I never looked that closely at it." He laughed, "How many hours do you work?"
"Eight hours a day seven days a week."
"Holy- no wonder you're running yourself ragged. I'm a doctor and I don't work that much!"
"Well, I'm the only income coming in, got six mouths to feed."
"You are amazing, you know that?"
"I am."
"You are. That is insane, and the fact you do it with such grace. It's astonishing."
"Thank you," I blushed.
"If I may be so bold, If you need an extra pair of hands, and you do. I'm more than happy to come help."
"I couldn't ask you to do that,"
"You're not asking me, I'm asking you. You're only going to get worse unless you lighten your load, and all although panic attacks are best just ridden out... they can cause serious damage." He explained, "I want to help, even if its just little things. I can take one job off you a day, or take them for an hour and go play in the garden just, something to lighten your load a little."
"You'd really do that?"
"I would,"
"Why?"
"Becuase you need help, and as a doctor, I can't stop myself from helping those who need it. and right now... you need it more than anyone."
"Thank you Jack," I smiled leaning my head on his shoulder,
"You're welcome Y/n" He smiled, kissing my head. "Now, how about you look after them I'll get dinner on?"
"It's a deal."
"Good girl, What uhh... what am I cooking?"
"Soup,"
"Soup?"
"Yeah,"
"What kind of soup?"
"Leek soup."
"Just leek soup? you have any bread for it?"
"No."
"Okay, new plan you wait here and look after them I will get dinner as my treat."
"I can't ask you to-"
"No. No. I'm doing it. at very least getting bread if nothing else,"
"Alright."
"Good, I'll see you as soon as I can." he smiled kissing my cheek before he took his stuff and headed back toward town.

I have at least half a dozen mods that're between 80% and 98% finished. Most are pretty small, like one that gives children and toddlers a simple interaction with babies. A couple are a little more complicated, like one that lets players set up secondhand markets (a family that's done with a crib can sell it "to the market" instead of to the catalog; the next household that needs one can go to a particular community lot and buy it at the depreciated price; if a third neighbor checks the market, they won't find that particular crib anymore). They all accomplish their basic function, but...:
none of them are tested as thoroughly as I'd usually test them
many are missing some safety features (you can probably guess that bad things happen if you sell a crib while the baby's still in it, but the mod won't stop you from doing it)
most have small issues I'm aware of but haven't fixed (things like an error message/reset if a kid can't get to a sibling they're trying to interact with or a visible shadow on an invisible object) and, I have to emphasize, might have more serious issues that I haven't run into yet
they wouldn't have more than basic documentation
they're various levels of unpolished/inelegant/awkward in general
They're nevertheless things I like and think other people might also have fun with, and I don't know if or when I'll be up to finishing any of them. Given all of those warnings, would anyone be interested in a 'caveat utilitor' folder if I put one up?

Hello! I saw that your requests are open so if I may can I request headcanons for Nanami and Gojo when reader is pregnant? Like some random moments as well as how they act during the whole thing from telling them about the pregnancy! Also congratulations on thsu milestone!
Thank you and have a good day/night <3
AGH YAY I LOVE THIS thank u so much for sending this in!!!!
CW: I guess a lil nsfw, f!Reader, soft as hell, suggestive themes
✭ Pixie’s 1.5k Follower Celebration - send in headcanon requests! ✭
✵ NANAMI ✵
✵ you and kento had definitely been planning for a child, and actively trying. He was actually the one to suggest a baby at first, you’d been married for 2 years and he had always wanted to be a father.
✵ 100% the kind of man who would have you both taking fertility vitamins to help encourage a healthy pregnancy.
✵ safe to say - babymaking was the highlight for you both. The thought of you having his child drove this man insane (nanami breeding kink go brrr) he was literally insatiable.
✵ He was actually the one to sense you were pregnant, you had been feeling under the weather for a day or two, not thinking much of it since you’d been trying for only 2 months and it was November. But, then Kento brought you both home some delicious ramen from a local market and the smell had you SPRINTING to the bathroom. When he was done holding back your hair, he opened the bathroom cabinet and pulled out a test.
✵ When the two very strong lines appeared you jumped into your husbands arms as he spun you in a circle, whispering sweet nothings.
✵ During your pregnancy, Kento would not let you lift a finger. He was on you with your prenatal vitamins, smoothies, foot rubs, every type of Lamaze class you could think of
✵ god the other women in the Lamaze class were just fawning over your husband, arm around your swollen waist, attentive to every moment you make (and those muscles under his well fitted sweater helped)
✵ he made sure to read to your baby every night, as well as rubbing lotion into your bump to help the stretching skin.
✵ builds the crib and nursery furniture himself (from scratch), and helps you paint and prepare.
✵ you both decide on Yuuji as godfather
✵ just so prepared to be a dad man, literally came pre assembled as a father.
✵ Gojo ✵
✵ k SO one of two situations, yay surprise baby or you guys had like an ‘if it happens it happens’ situation going on, no pressure or planning
✵ I think Satoru had been scared to be a father at first, but then he realised that love isn’t a curse, and the love you two have is so powerful it can create a whole other person, not even his six eyes can do that.
✵ there’s no need for a pregnancy test , you come home one day and he freezes - you had been gone when he woke up that morning, a mission an hour or two away but short and easy. You got back around noon, and giggle at your husbands surprised face.
✵“baby, it’s … it’s not just you. i can see them.”
✵“okay mr. I can see dead people what are you on about?”
✵ he just lays a big hand over your still-flat belly, and you gasp, realising what he means. He can see the tiny amount of cursed energy coming from your womb. A combination of his and yours makes for a powerful residual. The little dot pulsed along with what he presumed was the baby’s heart.
✵“are you serious? please don’t joke ‘Toru”
✵ “shush, you’ll wake up our baby.”
✵ you both drop to your knees and he wraps his big long arms around you
✵ “we’re having a baby ‘Toru.”
✵ he warps you both straight into shokos office and by your teary smile and Satoru’s beaming face she just says congrats and pulls out the ultrasound machine.
✵ you’re 6 weeks along, “hey lil’mochi, this is your momma, and I’m papa, but she calls me dadd-”
✵ SPOILS YOU
✵ immediately you both go to the shop, baby clothes, toys, plushies, a whole new family car.
✵ literally ridiculous
✵ plans the biggest baby shower, he’s just so happy
✵ a little scared he won’t be a good enough dad but you shut that down straight away
✵ any and all cravings are catered to
✵ gets even more handsy and insatiable during your pregnancy, just seeing you swollen with HIS child makes him fucking FERAL
✵ PARENTING BOOKS
✵ at night, sits and chats with your bump, head laying on your lap facing the bump, your hands in his hair, usually stories of how he met you, embarrassing little megumi, how he annoys Uncle Nanamin, how awesome he is
✵ has planned an entire emergency plan for you and the baby, it’s eased his mind. He didn’t tell you, just put precautions in place.
✵ draws faces on your bump
✵ helps you bathe and shower and washes your hair because ‘Mrs. Gojo deserves whatever she wants.’
✵ fights with the higher ups and threatens them so much that they give you both a years parental leave, more if needed. Scary man <3
✵ has lists as long as him of name ideas, does not shut up about all the things he wants to do
✵ constantly posting and sharing photos of ‘pretty mama’

a lots gonna change pt.4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Married life isn’t great, infidelity ensues and things change.
next chapter
Tumblr media
Your home felt lighter with the presence of your sister. She'd spent the better part of her visit getting her niece to warm up to her. The crisp spring weather allowed for the four of you to indulge in picnics, spend time at the beach and shop at different farmers markets.
Lila had taken an instant liking to your sister, and you were glad to see the two get along. While Nara was here, you're sure she attended at least 15 tea parties over the course of two weeks, who's to say she didn't enjoy them, after all she loved the role of Aunt. When the day came, you were sad to see her go, but nobody expected the outburst Lila was to cause when she caught wind of her aunts departure. She whined and whined, which made Nara feel guilty but you quickly promised that she'd be able to visit her soon enough. As a treat, Ellie agreed that Lila come with her to the airport to see off her aunt, and to your surprise she was happy with the compromise.
-
The house felt hollow without the extra presence of your sister, making you feel somewhat sad. The days following her departure felt like the feeling when you'd return from a vacation, and long to go back, home not feeling like it usually did. Except the vacation in question was Nara. You missed your sister dearly and the quietness of the house wasn't helping.
It was now 12 in the afternoon and you were sat on one of the bar stools, eating away at a tasteless bowl of soggy oats. Ellie had set out for an early workout around 8, so she would be back anytime now. You were surprised however, when you hadn't heard any noise from your daughter, which was weird, as she was usually up before you on most mornings. You shrug it off, thinking maybe it's just the hard work and play from preschool that's got her burnt out, after all she was still settling into the routine of consistently attending school. You gaze outside the window, that grants you access to the backyard and smile once you notice your cherry trees had begun to bloom. You'd make a reminder to show Lila once she'd awoken.
You're scrolling on your phone, looking through emails when you are startled by a set of hands grabbing at your waist and the loud sound of ...
"Boo!" Ellie laughs as you shriek loudly in fear.
"What the fuck, was that for" you groan as you clutch your chest , the rate of your heartbeat increasing from the sudden rush of adrenaline.
"I'm sorry baby it was the perfect moment, I had too" she laughs, bringing her head down to kiss you. You accept it and then pull back taking a look at her. Her hair is damp with sweat, and her face is flushed red.
"Whatever, I'll only forgive you cause you look really good right now" you roll your eyes at her as she gives you the biggest smirk.
"Really, you like me all hot and sweaty?" She's returned to kissing you, while also speaking into your mouth, which leaves you all hot and bothered.
"Yeah" you squeak, causing her to laugh at how much of an effect she has on you post workout.
"Where's Lila?" She questions, as she moves to the fridge, and reaches for the water pitcher.
"I think she's still sleeping"
"Really, she's usually up at like 6, that's not like her" she lifts the glass up to her mouth, her eyebrows remain raised.
"That's true, I should probably go check on her" you make your way off of the bar stool and rush up the stairs to Lila's room.
-
You open the door and hear her whispering, letting you know that she's awake. You enter, expecting her to stand from her crib and call out to you but instead, she stays lying down and you can faintly hear her gurgling.
"Lila?" You ask as you walk towards her crib. Lila turns her little face towards you, and you're immediately filled with worry. Her face is red and she's breathing heavily while small tears drip down her cheeks.
"Baby?" You rush to pick her up. Your baby's skin is burning hot, and you can tell she's got a fever.
You go into to Lila's bathroom as fast as you can in search of a wash cloth. Once you've found it you wet the cloth with cool water and dart back to the crib to wash your daughter's face with it. She murmurs quietly, but doesn't fight off the cloth, nor does she pull it to her face.
Pity swells deep in your belly as you watch your daughter tiredly yawn. Lila is usually picky with water, she either loves it or she hates it. So seeing such a neutral reaction from her is odd, this isn't like her at all.
You finish wiping her face, and she is coated in sweat. Her breathing is still ragged and she continuously takes deep breaths, fighting for air and that's the final straw for you.
Despite the weight of your daughter, you quickly make your way down the stairs, to the kitchen where Ellie is stood, looking down at the stove. "Baby!" you call out to her.
She lurches forward at the sound of your panicked voice and turns. "What's wrong y/n?" She asks, shocked. "What's wrong?" She asks, again, rushing over to you as you make your way towards her, with your sickly child in your arms.
"It's Lila," you say, trying to keep the stress out of your voice. "She's really feverish, sweaty, she seems to be in pain, she's struggling to breathe..."you say as you look down at her.
Her face goes ashen. "Let me see her," she says, already reaching out her toned arms.
Lila whines as you hand her over to Ellie and she takes her in her arms. She rubs a hand across her forehead. Her eyebrows creasing.
"I'm going to make a doctor's appointment" she sighs.
-
Lila's paediatrician came to the conclusion that it was just a common cold, and her breathing would be compromised because of some nasal damage she had endured during her birth. Both you and Ellie were instructed to keep watch on her and ensure she was medicated every few hours. You found that your daughter was extremely irritable when sick, refusing to let you or Ellie engage in any activities that did not include giving her attention. Unfortunately for her, the weekend was coming to an end meaning you'd be returning to work the next day.
"Sleep with momma ?" Lila asks Ellie as she carry's her up the stairs. Her head rests on her shoulder, giving you a view of your daughter's tired face, as you follow behind them.
"No baby, you've got to sleep in your crib and be a big girl" as soon as the words leave her mouth, she begins to whine. You couldn't wait until this sickness passed so her clinginess would stop. Ellie sighs and begins to rub her back, just as you make it to the top of the staircase.
"Fine, you'll sleep with us, baby. Don't cry" she gives in to her and she tiredly smiles over her shoulder. You make it into the bedroom, and Ellie changes her into a comfortable set of pyjamas whilst you slip into your night gown.
The three of you sleep together throughout the night, keeping your child calm and soothed whenever she'd cough, sneeze or heave. Lila's tears eventually fade, and she relaxes between the two of you, drifting into a restless sleep.
Ellie's eyes nearly gleam pure green in the dark of the room, as she lifts her head to look you in the eyes. "I... she begins. "I never knew it was possible to love someone this much" she whispers, so as to keep Lila from waking up. "I adore her so much, she's...she's the best thing to have ever happened to me, aside from you."
She reaches out to stroke Lila's face, and her sleeping form nuzzles into her. "I'm so lucky, so so lucky, to have the two of you in my life." She gives the statement, a pang of guilt surges throughout her body, seeing the irony behind her claims.
You smile at her and speak. "M-me too..."
"I never knew it was possible to love someone as strongly as I do you and her," you whisper, as you press your cheek against her hand. She strokes your skin with her thumb before letting go and smiling at you.
"I love you, so much" she whispers gently"
"I love you more" you reply, slowly shutting your eyes and holding a protective arm over your daughter that reaches Ellie. She takes your hand and you fall asleep this way.
Once you're beaten by sleep, Ellie slowly treks down the staircase and retreats to the outdoor patio. Your words cause guilt to spread within her, making her feel like a piece of shit. She was selfish and she knew it, the only thing that let her sleep most nights was denial, denial that what she was doing was wrong. She knew it was time. She had finally decided that tonight she would cut all ties with her. Her, the other woman that is. She contemplates on whether or not she wants to do it, looking down at the contact name with a sickness. The look on your face as you confessed your love and dedication to both her and her child pops into her mind and she finally presses dial.
"Ellie?" Her voice rings through her ears, she can tell she had been sleeping.
"Hi, I- we need to talk"
"Oh- ok... I?" she rambles on, and she can't help but feel even more guilty. She was destroying two lives and it never registered to her that Amelia too had feelings.
"Look, this needs to end, for real this time." Ellie finally lets the words come out of her mouth.
"You said that last time, and still fucked me the next day" she laughs, not taking her words to be serious.
"No, I - I mean it this time. I have a kid and a wife, who I very much love."
"If you really loved her, you wouldn't have cheated on her for what... 5 months straight?" She's being a smart ass, as she knows it will get to her.
"I don't care ok, I'm done. I realised now that this was a huge mistake, I love her and my daughter and I can't keep being selfish, we're done. I don't want us to be on bad terms, if you want some money I'll give it to you, whatever you want just leave my family alone" the silence is deafening and she sits their waiting for a reply from her.
"Fine. But just so you know Ellie, you're making a big mistake." She scoffs and ends the call immediately. Deleting her contact off of her phone and shakes her head, who did she think she was to threaten her? Although she's angry she also feels like a weight has been lifted off of her shoulders, and she can now be the mother and wife both you and Lila deserve. Her affair was just a minor bump in the road, nobody needed to know about it. It was a secret she would have to carry to her grave.
She returns to the bedroom to find Lila fast asleep, with her hands gripping your nightgown, she slowly shuts the door behind her and makes her way to the bed. She sets herself down slowly, as to not wake the both of you up but you are risen from your sleep when you hear the rustling of the comforter.
"Honey?" You question tiredly as you squint, trying to make of her shadowed figure.
"Shhh, go back to bed baby" she whispers, while sweetly stroking your shoulders and you obey.
-
"She'll be fine, just go or you'll be late to work" Ellie is-currently shooing you from the house, as you're reluctant on whether or not you should call off work for Lila's sake. She assures you that she'll be fine and you finally give in and make your way out the door.
-
"It's very interesting, it's so good to have someone so passionate on this topic to talk to, all my friends think I'm a bore" Abby says, as the both of you chat away in your office.
"I 100% agree, my partner previously worked in this field but now she thinks it's a mundane line of work, which to me is quite offensive" you say, making sure to mock Ellie's voice at just the right pitch.
"You're kidding?" She feigns shocked.
"No I swear, she said it was boring. Which is why she switched to pursuing law, she always been good at arguments."
"She sounds pretentious" she says, with a smile.
"Oh she is, but in the best way possible" you say, a smile on your face just thinking about your wife.
Abby hums and the two of you are interrupted by the sound of your phone ringing, the vibrations coming from inside your desks draw compartment. You apologise to Abby for the interruption and pull your phone out to check on who was calling.
Incoming call, Ellie
"Speaking of the devil, she's calling right now, excuse me for a sec" she silently nods, at your request and you answer the call.
"Everything okay honey?"
"No, Lila won't stop crying, she says she wants you" she sounds exhausted and you can hear the sounds of your child crying in the background.
"Babe, I can't leave work right now" you retort, smiling at Abby as she looks at you with raised eyebrows, her way of teasing.
"So what do I do, she won't stop?" Ellie sounds desperate and you wish dearly to put her out of her misery, but you couldn't leave work, it was only your second week back and you wanted to make up for the year you had spent away.
"Why don't you bring her here, come for a little visit. It's almost my lunch break anyways" she sighs and agrees, and you're happy to come to a conclusion that benefits all.
"Everything okay?" Abby asks as you set your phone down on the desk.
"Yeah, just my kid. She's been sick recently and she wants to see me. Her moms going to bring her over... probably spend my lunch break with them" she gives a strange pout and you smile at her, confused.
"What's the pout for?" You question, bringing your hands to sit under your chin.
"We always spend lunch break together" you swallow at that, was she trying to flirt with you?
"Oh my god" you shake your head at her silliness.
"What? It's true. How could you put your daughter over me?" She pretends to act offended, which only makes you laugh.
"Your funny, plus I would never put my daughter over you, what kind of mother would that make me?" You play along with her joke and she can't help but smile bashfully at you.
-
Abby decided to leave you to complete some work, and you were certainly relieved when she made her way out of your office. Sure she was nice, but you couldn't help but feel like she was getting a tad bit too friendly. She knew you were in a relationship right? It's not like you hadn't brought up the fact that you had a wife and a child more than once, so why did she feel comfortable just openly flirting with you?
The sound of your desk phone rings and you reach for it and answer.
"Ms. Y/ln, speaking how can I help you?"
"Y/n, this is Uyen, your wife is here requesting to see you, should I let her up?"
"Ofcourse"
-
Your office door opens, and in comes Ellie, with a tired looking Lila sat in her arms, her other hand carries a bag of what you were assuming was takeout.
"Mommy" Lila reaches out to you and you happily walk over to Ellie and take her into your arms. You kiss her temple and lean forward towards Ellie. She meets you halfway for a brief kiss and then proceeds to kiss your temple.
"I got you lunch, figured it would be easier than leaving" she says as she places the brown paper bag on the coffee table.
"Thanks honey, how's her fever?" You ask as you sit down on the couch and press your hands on Lila's neck and forehead.
"Fevers going down but her nose is still blocked"
"Poor thing" you say, looking down at your daughter who's head is tucked into your chest. Ellie makes quick work at opening the paper bag and handing you three different boxes of food.
"Stir fry?" You question.
"And spring rolls and dumplings and a fortune cookie" she smiles, knowing these were your favourites.
"I could kiss you right now!" You exclaim.
"Please do" she smirks, before setting the wooden cutlery down and leaning in for a kiss, you lean towards her to grant her her wish. Lila whines again and you roll your eyes at her theatrics.
"Can I put you down on the armchair, so I can eat?" You question and she shakes he head, no.
"So I can't eat my lunch?" You feign shocked at the drama she's putting on display.
"Stay with mommy" she holds onto you tighter and you sigh. You'd be eating lunch with a toddler in your lap and there was nothing you could do about it.
"Lila give mommy a break" Ellie says and she simply looks at her and musters the best eye roll she can. Both you and Ellie are amazed at her attitude and can't help but laugh.
"Where did she learn that?" She asks, her eyes wide and bewildered by her daughters newfound display of attitude.
"I don't even know" you laugh, then cover your mouth. This wasn't the kind of behaviour you would want her to think was okay, but you'd let it slide only because she was sick and easily irritable. You continue eating, occasionally feeding Lila, whenever she'd allow you to. You take a sip of your bottled water, when there's a knock at your office door.
"Am I interrupting?" Abby asks as she walks into the office, with a grin on her face.
"Oh of-course not Abby, have a seat" you say, slightly glancing to Ellie who is seated next to you, expressionless. Abby sits on the armchair opposite the couch and smiles at Ellie.
"This is my wife, Ellie and this is my very grumpy daughter, Lila" you lift Lila's hands and wave to Abby. She irritably brings it back down and nuzzles deeper into you.
"Nice to meet you Ellie, and Lila, she's very cute" you whisper a small thank you. And Ellie finally breaks her silence.
"Nice to meet you to Abby" she says and Abby nods at her.
"I didn't want to break our tradition so I figured I'd bring you a cupcake from the cafe" Abby holds out the clear box and you delightfully accept the treat.
"Oh, thank-you, I was craving one of these all day" you inspect the cupcake and place it on the coffee table.
"What's your tradition?" Ellie interrupts, looking from you to Abby.
"Oh y/n and I spend our lunch breaks together, at the cafe downstairs, they've got great food" Abby says and Ellie nods.
"We'll, just thought I'd deliver the treat to you myself. But I should get going, wouldn't want to interrupt family time" she stands up and shakes Ellie's hand and then makes her way over to you, leaving a kiss on your cheek. If you could, you're sure you would be blushing from embarrassment. Abby leaves the office and Ellie's fists are clenched.
"I don't like her" she mutters, turning to look at you.
"Ellie, I-" you're cut off before you can even complete your sentence.
"Who the fuck is she to be bringing you TrEaTs" she mocks Abby's voice.
"Are you seriously mad?" You're laughing now, the fact that she found there to be any competition between herself and Abby was humorous to you.
"Yes and the kiss on the cheek, really?"  You shift Lila in your laps and continue looking at Ellie.
"Everyone does that it's etiquette"
"Fuck etiquette, this isn't France" you can't help but laugh at her clever joke.
"Enough of that, can we just enjoy the rest of our lunch break in peace? As a family" you make sure to add in the last part as you know it will coax her well enough to drop the subject of Abby.
"Fine" she mumbles, trying to suppress a smile. You shake your head at her pettiness and reach for your fortune cookie.
"Okay fortune cookie time, but remember we can't tell each other okay?" She reaches for her cookie and nods.
'Your road to glory will be rocky, but fulfilling'
"Oooo mine is really good, what about yours baby?" You question as you scrunch your fortune and make a mental note to remember it. Ellie opens her cookie and proceeds to read her fortune.
