y'know I always joke about getting a sugar mommy but I legit think my best friend is one for me???? we're going to Bali this weekend (bc she insisted on Bali instead of any other cheaper destinations) and she said she'll be covering the expenses for the accommodations bc it's so kind of me to follow her whim despite the astronomical price for the flight. out of curiosity I checked out the places we're staying and guys. it's right by the beach.

I mean it also could just be using magic. Idk if he knew it at the time but it could be reading his like… intention aura with his soul or whatever. It would explain ehy other people could use it. I mean in actual computing it would probably need like an hour to sync up to someone’s specific brain(soul brain) patterns and interperet them. Unless the soul can recognize what the thing is and adapt to what it needs to work. Im assuming soul brain patterns are somewhat unique cause brains are like that but ig they could be mostly the same ish

For a less magicy but still scifi bs explanation it could just be reading movements under his soft shell. In human terms, he controls it by something like flexing his back or shoulders just a little bit. It would suck to learn but you could probably figure it out eventually as to how someone else used it? Eh idk pothole or something they defy physics daily someone learning how to use a prosthetic too quickly is the least of our worries

We don’t have to jump to implants immediately, not when we have skin Its like thermal. its still happening we just gotta look really hard. Honestly an implant might make that kind of thing harder since the body would be going “wtf is this thing hol up” if he made them give sensory feedback (idk like think abt those adjustable mattresses?) through the shell it would be kinda like learning to use a weird new limb. Also his shell being exceptionally sensitive would probably help speed up the process even if it would probably be one hell of an adjustment.

They probably couldn’t be on all the time for obvious reasons though. Like it’s possible that at one point he had a visual display to help but over time learned to use them without it like there’s a lot of potential methods

A rant about Haunting Adeline:

Tw: rape

I'm not against dark romances or even cnc kink, I know it's a coping mechanism for a lot of people + I would rather have you read fictional scenarios than putting yourself into dangerous situations to experience them. The problem with Haunting Adeline is that it's just rape. That's it. The part where he goes something like "you're wet so you must enjoy this" actually made me wanna throw up. A physical response by the body is NOT consent. That's like stabbing someone then being shocked that blood is spilling out. Knife play, blood play, gun play etc is only okay when it's consensual. I don't know why people call this a cnc book, like where the consensual non con it's just non con (rape). Even fanfic writers put a big ass warning for rape when it's present in their stories. On top of that the rapist so called love interest just sucks. Nothing sexy about "little mouse". He's not morally grey he's black. The author did 0 research on computer science and hacking so it comes off as an 8 year old learning their first code and calling themselves a hacker. Also saving kids from being raped does not justify you raping someone (I can't believe I have to say this out loud). The red rose story is so corny like I love roses but the author couldn't even do a little research and choose a rarer flower that had a meaning significant to the story. The main character is so boring, i hate it when they make them an author but don't expand on that storyline or make it relevant to the plot, it just feels like a self insert fanfiction. I'm so glad tiktok is banned in my country so I don't have to look at booktok bs BUT WHY IS IT INFECTING INSTAGRAM TOO LIKE STFU STOP

I'm going to semi-retire from the game preservation scene.

This is by no means a decision that I took on a whim. I am genuinely sad that it came to be this way, I've been involved in this stuff for a genuinely long time, I've seen many things, met many great people, also the bad and stupid dramas, which shouldn't really be discounted either, even though this was not the kind of thing that affected my decision.

I have no regrets on how I handled my job and I wouldn't have it any other way. But I just don't have the heart anymore. For roughly a year as I'm typing this, I started to seriously resent any attempt at public releases and contextual research.

This kinda sucks for how I want things to be treated with respect. I blame myself for giving myself too much responsibility and was not able to successfully pass down some of it to other people. This definitely did not help as it took a toll mentally speaking. But despite trying to change this, I found out how I just stopped caring about details, and just wanted to move on. I gave myself a little more time to ponder about it, and my final decision is that, yeah: I need to quit, I really don't have the heart anymore for it.

That doesn't mean I want to stop everything though, there are still things I need to do, and still have interests with, like with Satellaview and 64DD, but I want to gradually move away, and eventually pass the baton to people who still has the fuel. But I don't intend to disappear.

I still have a burning passion for the obscure parts of Nintendo, that's not changing any time soon, but the work I've been doing really just felt like a chore, and it was a job I've been doing for years.

I've been involved with Satellaview since around 2008/2009 with my Hello World SNES homebrew adapted for BS-X. The technical knowledge of the Satellaview was just very limited. I've started then a project to at least reveal how the satellite signal worked, and I got it working (then nocash did even further work that shouldn't be discounted, but he's really just too fast at this). It was my first reverse engineering project, and it was very formative, and shaped my knowledge of computer science like never before. I've then worked on emulation and preservation, managing quite a few dumps of Satellaview content.

Then in December 2014 I've had my first version of the 64DD Disk Dumper, done with help from the N64 scene people, on December 31st, all commercial 64DD titles were dumped, then I worked on 64DD emulation for a bunch of emulators, based on the works of Happy_ from MAME, and eventually was able to write my very own emulation code from scratch and higher accuracy than before on Ares. This year will be 10 year anniversary of my 64DD Disk Dumper.

So I've been doing this stuff for like, 15 years at this point, and now... Aside from the fact that I haven't been as into it as I used to, I also got older. I'm at an age where I'm sorta thinking if I want to do other things with my life, but in that case, other things have to be put on the wayside, to an extent.

I can't say what I will bring in the future, I have tons of ideas, and besides, I'm still gonna be behind a few game preservation works here and there, but my involvement will be limited from now on.

Also, Nintendo: Don't think I'm done datamining your NSO apps lol You still have so much shit that we don't have and I'm not gonna give up on having hints.

It's not too nosy, people are asking about it because I've talked about it a lot!

So the deal is that I am having trouble finding nutrition programs accepting second bachelor's students that are both A) Local and B) Affordable.

When I tried to apply in the spring there was only one state school accepting second bachelor's applications for nutrition students and it was about 500 miles away from where I live (and since I can only afford to live in CA because I'm renting from family, moving out of this house isn't an option unless I'm moving to a state with a lower cost of living).

There's at least one out-of-state school and two private schools that are accepting applicants from all kinds of students, but I have looked at the average income of registered dieticians and decided that I am not going to take out loans of $30k a year for this degree.

So what I'm doing now is waiting to see what local state schools (if any) are accepting second bachelor applicants to their nutrition programs in the fall.

I also have the option of possibly applying for a chemistry degree (some local schools are accepting physical sciences majors but not biological science majors as second bachelor's and it is possible to apply to a master's program in nutrition with a BS but you have to make up the nutrition program requirements while you're in grad school or between acceptance and starting the graduate program), trying to finish that, and then applying for a master's program once I have a BS.

I'm currently enrolled in classes at my community college for the summer and fall terms that will benefit me whether I'm able to apply for a bachelor's program or not.

At the moment my plans/options are:

Wait until fall term, apply to any local nutrition programs, wait to hear back and spend the terms until I hear back fucking around and getting a silly associate's degree for the lulz. (Potentially become an RD after 2 years in undergrad and 2 years in a master's program - finish that program about 4-5 years from now)

Wait until fall term, apply to local chemistry programs, wait to hear back and spend the terms until I hear back taking as many chemistry classes as I can. (Potentially become an RD after undergrad, take gap classes to make up prerequisites - finish that program about 5-6 years from now)

Figure out that no programs are accepting 2nd bachelor's students and go to a different community college to start working on collecting certs (1-2 years for an Associate's in network security, 1 year for a certificate in Windows administration), take a few classes at my current school to finish silly associate's degree for the lulz.

The community college that I'm looking at if the other options fall through (which seems pretty likely) is much more of a trade school than my current school and offers a nutrition certification program that focuses more on food safety and commercial kitchens whereas my current school only offers what is functionally a GE transfer degree with some pretty basic nutrition classes on top of it so I may just also try to get the nutrition certification while I'm doing computer stuff and get a silly associate's for the lulz.

So basically I would love to continue working toward a nutrition degree but I don't think it's very likely that that's going to be an option I can realistically afford. There's a part of me that's like "apply to cal state chico, try to take classes online as long as possible and live in a van for a couple semesters" (because that sounds more survivable than 60-90k in loans) but if that's the barrier to entry this is a dream that I'm okay letting die.

• chart ruler in gemini or at gemini degrees (3,15,27) are usually good at copying body movements - they could be really good dancers & catch on to choreography really quick. they're also good at copying reference photos if they're into art.

• i think people don't talk about how capricorn placements are escapists. something that truly pains them can be shrugged off not realizing that it can cause more problems. sort of the way pisces escapes reality with external influences, capricorns can escape their problems by ignoring them completely or creating more & fixing them as a distraction to gain back control.

• one stereotype that i've seen that is true about my life is that i have Uranus in the 9H & i'm going for university to study Computer Science which is quite satisfying to see icl. we'll see if the dropping out one is true down the line. 😃

• Mars & Saturn in the 2H...every piece of clothing of yours does not need to be from a labeled brand. you can buy normal clothes no one will notice i promise. then again, with Saturn 2H, people tend to critique & pick apart your taste like i'm doing now...sorry lol. carry on. though for Mars 2H, the sports wear needs to go.

• i think Chiron aspecting Venus are usually the ones with good intentions when approaching love matters no matter the sign of their Venus. they've been hurt before so i don't think they would try to intentionally hurt someone.

• i really admire libra placements because of their ability to tolerate all sorts of bs in order to gain the benefit. they're very goal driven & usually don't focus on the now, even if they're going through hell but are more focused on the end product. they're far from selfish though & are willing to compromise any situation.

• as a scorpio Mars, i prefer swimming & dancing/cardio as workout. i think i'll make a post about Mars persona chart observations in the near future.

• Saturn aspecting Neptune is always people projecting their fears onto you. Jupiter aspecting Neptune is people projecting their beliefs onto you.

• i've noticed people with Jupiter influence to the Moon were born in different locations from where they currently live. this is especially true if their Moon sign is cardinal. if fixed or mutable, results may vary.
