What is a Secret Santa?

It’s basically a gift exchange, where lots of people join and each are assigned a recipient to get a gift for. But they must not tell anyone else, that’s why it’s called a Secret Santa! It makes for a fun surprise when you get your gift! Traditionally, it’s done in real life where people can buy or make gifts for their recipient, but since this is online, we’ll be gifting art, writing, or other types of media? instead! Creations you can easily gift online!

When do signups last? The period of time we get to make our gift? When do we start gifting?

HAZARDOUS HABITATS MY BELOVED

(I know this post is LONG overdue (it's been sitting in my drafts since November) but I was taking a break sorry)

I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THIS EPISODE.

HAZARDOUS HABITATS MORE LIKE A HAZARD FOR MY HEART

This episode is absolutely one of my favourite Above and Beyond episode because it had so much to offer. Aside for the fact that it was absolutely adorable there were so many authentic character moments for both Dashi and Shelligton that I was genuinely going feral.

ALSO for anyone that ships Dashton this is THEIR episode. This combo is so iconic; they're such cuties and can talk about their passions effortlessly with each other. Genuinely love them so much.

Right from the get-go the episode is set up perfectly, they're both going out to get some photos for shellington's creature collection in extreme habitats. Dashi loves photography and extreme environments, and Shellington loves niche creatures and his collection; it's a win-win mission for both of them.

“Don’t worry shellington I can get you your photos in any conditions, extreme wind, extreme rain, extreme snow-“

They're so cute and passionate, Shellington is like "I really want these photos but they're lowkey impossible to get" and Dashi's like "heh buddy don't sweat it. I've got you bro"

“No worries, Tweak upgraded my wandercam to handle the heat, the cold, the wet pretty much anything so I say let’s go!”

LIKE THEY'RE JUST SO AHHHHHHH

Massive shoutout to Shellington to having so many loser moments in this episode as well.

E.g. He getting scared by the thorny devil (like bro I thought you were an expert on these things) and Dashi picking up the lid after he spills the water everywhere

PLUS THE ULTIMATE LOSER MOVE

Him being like "Erm be careful, it's really slippery here 🤓☝️" and his goofy ass just instantly fell into a puddle

He's honestly a little pathetic throughout the whole episode and Dashi has to pick him up (they are literally girl boss and malewife)

Then oml there was this when they were trying to get more photos but they had to climb because of the rocks

“You mean up there?!?" *gulp*

(He's like damn girl are you being fr right now?!?)

“Ah, sure. we’ll use our climbing claws! Easy peasy”

LIKE SHE SAYS THAT AND WINKS AT HIM LIKE?!?! (OML I'M NOT NORMAL ABOUT THIS)

“Ah, right easy peasy…”

HE KNOWS HE AIN'T BUILT FOR THIS. Plus to top it all off when he's climbing up the rocks he's like

“Easy peasy, is making me queasy".

Genuinely them at the tepui's was genuinely so assuming. They're being stupid, falling in puddles, messing with each other, watching this poor pebble toad on the camera and being like

"Oooh toad" 😯

"AHH tarantula" 😧

"Omg she's falling! Bro does she need help?" 😨

"Nah she's alright, they do that sometimes" 😐

*toad starts drowning * "how about now?" 😰

"oh yeah NOW she's trouble, she can't swim lol" 😬

It was such a we share a single brain cell moment but hey they got their photo. Then at that end of all of it when the toad is telling them what a good climber she is and shellington says "heh, at least that makes one of us". He's so comedic throughout the whole episode.

Honestly, both of them are so casual with each other. They can make jokes and puns which we don't usually get a lot from these two. Dashi's lingo isn't as serious and she's openly going on rants about topics throughout the episode (which again is great because we love dorky Dashi moments). Shellington is a lot more willing with trying uncomfortable things (Especially after watching the Kilimanjaro climb, shellington was just outright refusing to do anything he wasn't familiar with for half of the episode).

All of this shows how comfortable they are with each other, they are more authentic and vulnerable which is a major kudos to the quality of their relationship.

THEN there was the Sistema Huautla

OMG just look at how happy she is! Like yes! Deepest cave in the western hemisphere! Let’s jump right in!

Also a quick side note, why did they make the Sistema Huautla look so shallow. I get it's would be hard to do but it's 1560 metres deep? THAT'S ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!?!?! ORIGINALLY, I thought Shellington was being a bit of wuss but oml you would NEVER catch me in here.

ANYWAY, back to them.

Despite the Sistema Huautla being that deep Dashi's like "yeah we'll just climb down there to get our photos" (Although I guess she's really just going back to her roots)

“We still have our climbing claws so easy peasy!”

(She's so nonchalant about all of these extremes. It's funny. Shellington's like "hey these are some of the most dangerous habitats in the world" and she's deadass like "easy peasy")

“Where have I heard that before”

He's so the voice of reason like "girl bffr this AIN'T easy peasy"

She's honestly just thriving, landing like a pro and smiling the whole time, completely unfazed; it's just so Dashi.

Then the ledge breaks and shellington nearly falls to his death...

Nice.... (help he's so damsel in distress coded)

Dashi's like ah well shit I can't get you out of this one by myself...

The change up in their attitude is so crazy they go from happy go lucky yay we’re in a cave let’s beg the blind scorpion for photos to damn these extreme habitats are actually dangerous. We might die.

They call the crew and Ryla's on their way to help them out but obviously, she's not going to get their before that tiny ledge breaks away.

Then there's this scene where they need to weigh up saving the photos or shellington. Shellington's all for keeping the photos (even at the expense of himself) but Dashi pulls through with a classic Dashi moment (I love it when Dashi has moments the relate well back to the OG series (well the few dashi centred episodes anyway). It was very manta ray episode core)

“Saving you is more important then saving the photos”

She ejects those photos they worked so hard to get (much to shellington's despair) and gets him down to the bottom safely. Gotta love her "sacrifice everything to save the ones I care about" mentality Then Ryla gets there and everything is aye-okay.

Tweak was so silly and casual when these two finally rescued.

“Hi guys, guess you two will do anything to get a photo of a critter”

She summed up their dynamic so well it's great.

It's genuinely so funny how chill the girls are throughout these extreme situations. It's so in character too. I can imagine if it was a different combination of characters they would be freaked. But these three? Ryla, Dashi, Tweak? Yeah, they're not that phased at all.

Then when they were wrapping everything up and showing all of their work to the others (because thank got the camera and survived falling down the 1560m cave) they were so adorable.

Another side note: This episode was so pretty! I thoroughly enjoyed this scene in the ray, the aesthetic was immaculate. All the places they visited were so pretty and cool too!

Finally as a little cherry on top, Dashi's on an extreme adventure high after all this excitement and she starts going on a rant (gosh I love it when she rants, dorky Dashi for the win). They can both be such dorks when they are on a roll which is something I adore about them.

“Then why stop now? We can climb up Mount Everest, the highest altitude mountain in the world and find some Himalayan jumping spiders !”

He's just horrified. They nearly died and now she wants to go and climb Mount Everest. She's just a lil crazy and obsessive, just a lil...

I love how they are both so obsessive over their passion it makes them such a perfect pair. Shellington is willing to risk dying for his research and Dashi's ready to put herself in extremely life-threatening situations and just do it all again for her photos.

Anyways, this episode is in my top 5 for Above and Beyond. 10/10 thoroughly enjoyed it. Nearly died because of how good it was.

In response to a new law in Scotland criminalizing hate speech meant to incite violence against certain protected classes including transgender and sexual minorities, JKR is basically telling the police "come at me bro" and literally asking to be arrested. Lowkey. (UNIVERSITY AU) Kyle Spencer x photography club student f!reader !! : not proofread a/n: long time no fic update. This has been in my drafts since November?? I don't even remember writing this, probably one of the fics I wrote when I'm bored. SUMMARY: You badly want to get noticed by your campus crush but you still want to be lowkey about your feelings for him. "I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you."

Ever since you found your very own university campus crush, you find yourself joining the crowds in every university events since this blonde frat boy named Kyle Spencer caught your attention during one of the events. He's always there with his fraternity bros. You thought that watching him from afar is enough for you but he's just so irresistible, you.. want him to notice you. 

You always had an interest in photography, but you only became motivated to join the university photography club just because you have a crush in the campus. Honestly, his smile is infectious, it would be super adorable to capture the moment of his cuteness. 

This was just a random thought that came into your mind while zoning out in class but it immediately became a plan. A perfect plan to keep your admiration for that blonde cutie lowkey. Hiding it all behind that camera lens.

Today, the university had another event. You find yourself standing in the crowd, holding your camera as you capture moments of other students having fun. You were already having fun but you couldn't help but search for the frat boys, you know Kyle would be there. You waited a few more minutes, entertaining yourself first by taking more pictures of the happenings in the event. 

"I heard that the photography club members are assigned to take candid photos of students enjoying the events." Said one of Kyle's friends. "Really? Let's get photographed!" Kyle replied to his friend with a chuckle, he looked around immediately trying to spot a photographer and he immediately spotted you who's taking pictures of the surroundings.

"I'll talk to her." Kyle spoke, he started to walk towards you without you knowing. As you lower your camera, checking the photos, you felt someone approaching you. You looked towards that direction and saw.. Kyle?? 

"Hi, you're a photography club member right?" He asked with a smile, looking at you up and down. You can't believe that this is happening to you. "Yeah.." You replied, your palms suddenly getting sweaty. "Cool! Can you photograph me and my friends?" He asked, signaling his friends to come closer.

"Yeah.." You ready your camera and started taking photos of them.

After that, Kyle walked to you again, wanting to see the pictures, you showed it to him with a shy smile. "Nice shots! This will be posted right? Where can we see it?" He asked again, looking back at you. "This will be posted in my Instagram page but you can also find it in the Photography club's Instagram page." You replied, trying to keep your composure. "Ooh, alright. I'll follow you. Take photos of us again soon, yeah? Thank you." With that, he gave you a pat on your shoulder and walked away. 

You can't believe what just happened, he complimented your skills, spoke to you, and told that he'll follow your page.

yeah umm working my way through my mental list of one shot illustrations I’d considered drawing while tied up working on other stuff. Grown-up Raz in full future God of Tartarus glory looking cool with grown-up Røki?!! HELLO YES SSS SSSSSSS??? And the very important Canon Convo snippet from when Raz first met him as a newborn, to compare💖✨ I was annoyed with myself back in November for not getting around to drawing that to add to this post but in retrospect then I couldn’t have done this matching set so it all worked out!! It’s a handy snapshot of the CURRENT day, where Raz is just 12 and his baby brother fits in his arms and is roughly the shape of a very large potato still.

I just know that Raz and Røki are going to grow up into an inseparable duo one day 🥹🥹

This has been just another excuse for me to learn how to actually draw Røkia, especially since I’ve been focusing on his current canon baby shape. It IS all getting easier with time💪 wowie imagine that! Also— grown up Raz is SO fun for me to draw and I hardly ever draw him though Current Canon Raz sure has popped up more than usual over the past year 🤩 VERY EXCITING! I love Raz and wish we were ever doing more with him in general but I guess only time will tell. Yaaayyyy

^ I’ve been a lot more attuned to parallels between John and Jade since getting an ask about it a while back, and their identical victory dances are a very cute one. Check out these absolute goofballs. <3

First and most importantly, the eighth instalment of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff (/sbahj/8 in the Collection) was posted on around November 29. I just read it today, and it features either Sweet Bro or Hella Jeff trying to pour a glass of milk and struggling to tilt the carton enough, while the other watches through the window and then laughs at a squirrel’s giant acorn. The milk carton features a jpeg of a guy in a helmet who I can’t place, but who looks like something out of GameBro or Grand Snack Fuckyeah.

The squirrel has appeared before in SBAHJ #4, which was also the other strip to incorporate edited photographs, with a picture of Barack Obama. In many ways, #8 is a direct sequel to #4, as both feature the blue character looking through a window, and both feature the squirrel with some kind of treasure. It’s cool to see Dave growing as an artist by establishing these consistent character traits, but out of universe, #8 doesn’t appear to relate to anything happening in Homestuck at this time.

Back in Homestuck itself is the real Jade strife animation, set to the great track ‘An Unbreakable Union’. Bec, we learn, is a dog crackling with lightning and radioactive green energy, who constantly warps in and out of space (?). So the radioactive nutrients in the irradiated steak are probably good for him, and Jade is just caring for his needs the same way he cares for her - she seems very comfortable with his weirdness, which must be a daily occurrence for her.

Bec’s drawn in the same stark, eyeless outline style as John’s dad, Rose’s mom, and Dave’s bro. Due to his design, his being alive, his strife with Jade and his care for her afterwards, Bec seems to have filled the guardian role since Grandpa Harley’s death. This makes him the only guardian with an actual name. This could indicate that Jade has a genuine understanding of Bec, seeing him as he actually is, not as the idea of an authority figure.

The strife itself (p.980) is interactive, but linear. Each round has only one option, always beginning with AR (a nod to Jade’s rifle). We can click that option, and then gain access to Jade’s gun. Clicking on or close to Bec shoots a bullet, while clicking elsewhere does nothing. This happens four times, and on the fifth and final winning round, Jade controls the gun herself after we click the command. Unlike the sylladex escapade (p.808-812), this is a case of Jade and the player working in harmony.

But some pretty weird stuff happens to Bec during the fight.

ARRAIGN. Bec vaporizes this bullet and is unaffected.

ARSENALIZE. Bec turns into a green radioactive energy field. Both Jade and Bec become really small, jump onto the bullet, and ride it to the other side of the island.

ARTILLERATE. Bec becomes a galaxy; he and Jade apparently travel through deep space back into the Milky Way, onto Earth, and land on the frog statue.

ARMAMENTIFY. The screen turns black while a Bec-shaped silhouette of Jade’s island remains. Scenes from John, Rose, Dave and Jade’s stories flash by on the black space while Bec’s silhouette remains.

ARF. Jade shoots away from Bec, playing fetch, and grabs the blue package while he chases the bullet. Bec catches it in his mouth, runs back to Jade and drops it on the ground. She tosses him the irradiated steak. They both hug and celebrate.

Bec is a good boy but he also has far more extensive powers than Jade’s, which makes me wonder if he’s ‘from’ Skaia the same way WV and PM are from the ominous and luminous planets. A regular creature living on this island probably wouldn’t get this powerful. In fact, Bec might be the source of Jade’s powers – if his body can turn into a portal and can cause visions of other characters, Jade could be prognosticating by looking through Bec. Jade definitely doesn’t have control over Bec’s powers, and I’m not sure Bec does either. However he came to it, he feels like a passive yet deadly nuclear power source that acts instinctively, with no intent beyond the dog desires of ‘play’ and ‘protect’. If Bec was an advanced intelligence he’d never fall for a ‘go fetch’.

Jade then falls asleep near the frog statue, and Bec picks her up and carries her to bed, tucking her in so gently. Good dog. Best friend. It is probably the most wholesome dynamic between any two characters in Homestuck, and it’s sweet to see Jade interact with her living pet so soon after Rose’s bittersweet reunion with her dead one. Andrew Hussie recently did a Q&A with MSPA community members which has some cool stuff in it. Here’s one excerpt:

The wild and unusual commands are the ones that really make it feel like a gaggle of whimsical readers is in charge, imbuing the narrative with a sense of freedom, a feeling that the hero could do truly anything. The essence of freedom in this sense is the uncompromising subjugation of restraint. It is possible that this is also the exact opposite of what a good story requires! [full interview here; emphasis mine]

Homestuck does have that whimsical, anything could happen feeling to it, but it does also have this really earnest core of themes that are common to a lot of stories – family relationships being one of the biggest. It’s unexpected that Jade’s pet is a dimension warping dog but beneath the outracing bullets and radioactive steaks is a relationship that’s no different to one in Marley & Me. So it’s interesting to know that there is a conscious effort to keep this story recognizable in some ways, even while it’s very experimental in others.

So now we’ve seen all four guardian strifes, and can lay out some quick comparisons! John (p.90), Rose (p.388) and Dave (p.836), all fighting humans, were overcoming an obstacle and facing hostility, while Jade (p.980), fighting a dog, was playing a game. John and Jade were trying to collect a package, John and Dave were trying to collect Sburb Beta discs, and Rose was trying to leave the house and reconnect to Sburb. John and Rose’s strifes contain the same music they played on their instruments – ‘Showtime’ and ‘Aggrieve’ – while Dave and Jade’s have brand new music tracks.

John, Rose and Jade all have interactive strifes, where A-command words can be selected in any order (John, Rose) or linearly (Jade) by the reader, before a non-interactive ending. Dave’s strife is not interactive, as his bro destroys the command menu. This suggests to me that while Jade is the most aware of the fourth wall out of the kids, Bro is most aware out of the guardians. But more generally, the differences keep the story fresh. It’s playing with patterns instead of working to formulas, being actively written instead of churned out like a sitcom episode. I think that contributes to it feeling like something to be a part of, not just something to passively read.

the princes of mischiefs are back for this HALLOWEEK, but have decided to forgo hosting HELL WEEK this year. some might celebrate, while others might be disappointed to go yet another year without the threat of surprise prank being pulled on its unsuspecting target (a.k.a you). or perhaps this false sense of security might be a trap that DBSD members are just waiting for you to fall into. who knows?

but, certainly, not everything is all right at the company, as stickers of WHITE BUNNIES WITH CLOCKS have appeared at various places within the company. furthermore, anywhere they are, PLAYING CARDS are hidden neaby. and while all the cards are QUEENS OF HEARTS, instead of the usual drawing of a queen at the center, each card has any of the following words written on it: 'EAT ME', 'DRINK ME', 'TAKE ME' or 'OPEN ME'. maybe you should pick on up? again; who knows...

LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT HALLOWEEN PARTY

on the week of OCTOBER 14, every trainee and artist of the company received an invitation to LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT’S YEARLY COSTUMED HALLOWEEN PARTY. since halloween falls on a thursday, the event will be hosted on NOVEMBER 2. unless stated otherwise in missions posts, everyone’s schedule will be cleared from 12PM to leave time for preparations.

the festivities will begin around 8pm and end at 3am. servers will be passing through the venue during the entire evening with finger foods and non-alcoholic drinks. a dj will be in charge of music, while a host will hold different events during the night ( examples include a dance contest, noraebang battle, and more ) and will crown the person with the best costume!

every year, legacy is known to host the biggest marketing event on that one day. brands compete ferociously to be the one that the company chooses! this year, it’s none other than NINTENDO that won the bid. since the press, lgc staff and higher ups and nintendo representatives will also be present at this event, trainees, actors, models, and idols alike are reminded to have fun but still keep it professional! additionally, on the day of the party, every attendee will be invited to walk the CHALLENGER APPROACH CARPET to enter the venue and join of the FACTIONS once inside!

the red carpet is slowly becoming a tradition of its own! NINTENDO decided to bring it back, but of course, with its own flavor! just like during the previous 2 years, professional photographers and 200 lucky legacy fans will get to see the trainees and artists arrivals in person! this time, each arrival will be marked by the famous horn blare of SUPER SMASH BROS' new challenger announcement.

while no challenge will need to be completed this year to gain access to the party proper, all attendees are REQUIRED to wear a costume from any NINTENDO FRANCHISE. with such restrictions, it is likely that characters might be picked more than once, as such, those who wish to costumize/put their own spin on a character are welcomed to do so ! princess peach in pink denim? why not !

( important note: only up to TWO people can arrive at the same time. pairs can be idols in the same permanent group; models and actors of the same gender; participants of a project that has happened/aired in the last 12 months (dramas, plays, lgs girls and lgc spring boys); and trainees of the same gender. )

instead of the usual halloween decorations, this year, the venue will be full of colors, reflecting nintendo's image. in each corner of the venue, GAMING STATIONS have been set up for multiple people to play either solo, but preferably in groups. each corner has a set theme (and games); ANIMAL CROSSING, POKEMON, SUPER MARIO BROS and SUPER SMASH BROS.

while attendees are free to play at any of the stations (or none), everybody will be asked to pick one FACTION from the four franchises mentioned above before the end of the night !

well then, november was a very complicated month for me. i lost my dad on the 8th (but my family and i did not find out until the 13th) and i have been dealing with logistical things since his death

that said, i was able to do some fun things this month as well. on the 16th, i went to SPARKLE PARTY with 7 of my favorite people in the world

and later on the 26th, i saw the amazing and talented aurora with my bro @sassy-dad 💠

this month has been surreal, for sure. i wanted to make a post right after sparkle party but motivation has been hard while dealing with my dad passing

Finally Being Open (+ Urgent Announcement) (PLEASE READ)

Sorry, this is gonna be a real lengthy read, I just want to finally get it out of my chest. Hey, I'm @kyodentporc, and I am the creator of the psychological horror fan project 'Sparklecare: Fresh Blood.' So I think that it's about time I find myself opening up, especially seeing the announcement that was posted by @sparklecarehospital , I personally believe it is the best time to speak on my fan project, and the reason this was made in the first place, and honestly.. it's the same reason behind the official webcomic. Sparklecare: Fresh Blood was, for almost the entirety, my idea, of what initially was just me and my best friend @mooniestarrcat creating OCs since he was the one that got me into Sparklecare in the first place last year in September, before I then had the idea of creating a video game, thus beginning production for Fresh Blood on November. Yea, Fresh Blood was initially supposed to be a video game for people to play, but after a while of thinking I even had the SKILLS to create a game, ultimately it was decided that Fresh Blood would remain a comic UNTIL I've learned the skills to make the decision of a Sparklecare fangame. Truth be told, the reason as to why it exists is to actually cope with trauma of my own, I initially didn't want to speak on that yet, especially since it's early in release and I feel like I've only had this community not that long ago and I don't want to scare anyone off with speaking on shit I've been through, however, at the same time, I don't want to hide anymore, and Sparklecare as well as the creator showed that to me, gave me the push needed to not have to hide anymore, to finally tell the truth, and for a good portion of my life, it sucked. Despite Fresh Blood being a psychological horror fan comic with more disturbing elements and graphic imagery, is how I've viewed things all my life. And the reason why I added Cry of Fear as an inspiration to this fan comic(I also got inspired off of the Silent Hill franchise but I'm solely speaking on Cry of Fear) is because that game assisted in helping me pull through, which also inspired the gameplay and soundtracks for when Fresh Blood was initially a game. I might even keep the soundtracks for when I'm ready to go back on it. And even though a few things MAY be overexaggerated and even changed up a bit, the majority of things that have happened in the comic and will be happening in the comic are what basically happened to me in real time. Syco is essentially me, kinda, and as stated last paragraph, the majority of things in the comic, especially big things that happen to and affect Syco(as well as a few characters in the comic that I'll introduce at some point), have also affected me, and had me become who I was, and possibly still am today. Here's an example, since the first portion of the comic has been released, Syco's deadbeat mother is my deadbeat father. I think now that Kneeby has made the decision to bump the age limit to read Sparklecare and Cometcare from 16+ to 18+, I think this actually would help me further express myself and write my story by portraying it in a fan comic as to pay tribute/homage to the official Sparklecare webcomic. To showcase how Sparklecare, thanks to @mooniestarrcat introducing me, has essentially saved my fucking life. And not to mention Uni Cornelius becoming my BIGGEST comfort character now, and still is, I'd like to think that Uni and I would be real good bros if I existed in spinch! lol So what does this mean for Fresh Blood? Well, it's going to follow in Kneeby's footsteps, meaning that Fresh Blood will also be 18+. I also wanted to state as it was also mentioned in the official announcement, NO, the project being 18+ DOES NOT mean that it will include.. that kind of material. The reason why it's 18+ is not only for Kneeby's sake, as it involves personal trauma, disturbing imagery and A LOT of improper humor, but for my own as well, as I don't want any minor to end up in a similar situation as I had ended up. I hope you guys can understand that.

Kaiju Week in Review (August 27-September 2, 2023)

Godzilla Battle Line has cemented its reputation as the Super Smash Bros. of kaiju games by bringing in the GAMERA -Rebirth- incarnations of Gamera and Gyaos later this month. Gamera showing up in a Godzilla game is a huge deal—this is the first time the two have properly met outside of poorly-documented live performances. Even in City Shrouded in Shadow, they only appeared in separate levels. Given all the fantasy-match debates over the years, maybe it's for the best that they're coming to blows in a medium where either could emerge the victor.

Godzilla Rivals: Vs. SpaceGodzilla marks Matt Frank's triumphant return to the IDW Godzilla line (covers aside). It reminded me a lot of The Last Hope: the fall of an advanced civilization at the hands of kaiju, narrated but dialogue-free. As in Rulers of Earth, Frank draws a mean SpaceGodzilla - more personable than the one from the actual movie but just as much of a dick. Singura, his all-new rival, is a neat creation too, with more abilities than this concept art lets on.

Sometimes these Weeks in Review are outdated before I can post them. Behold the teaser for the trailer for Godzilla Minus One, both of which you have surely watched five times by now. I'm hoping to have an analysis post up shortly.

Godzilla Voxel Wars is a game headed for Steam in November 2023. A turned-based strategy game, it pits a host of Toho monsters against an alien race called the Fungoids (interesting, and perhaps accidental, synergy with IDW's Zoospora). Toho Games is developing it with Nukenin. I'm intrigued, mostly because this style of Godzilla game usually forces you to control the military, but the art style isn't the most appealing. They look like nanoblocks. It's also catching some flak for its similarities to Into the Breach.

Titanosaurus has long been one of the most coveted Movie Monster Series figures since his release in 2002, and he's finally getting another edition, alongside a Godzilla '75 (last seen as part of the Memorial Box in 2005).

JSDF plans for new anti-aircraft electronic warfare equipment had Japanese Twitter abuzz, on account of the vehicle looking for all the world like a Maser Cannon. I'm sure kaiju filmmakers will start looking for excuses to have them show up.
